A nice ma and pops spot !!
I was in the mood for Thai and I found out this place was around the corner from where I was so we decided to try it. I ordered the Drunken noodles, pad see ew , spring roll,, and fried chicken dumplings and it was great and satisfying. I would like to have a bigger serving size but I’m not mad, I will be back
This place is tiny, intimate, and feels like a mother's cooking (or perhaps a father's cooking, based on the name of the place, haha). You can just tell from the flavors that everything is fresh and the food is made with love. Yes, it definitely lacks the level of spiciness one would find in Thailand, but this IS the United States, after all. They happily make it spicier upon request. I would go more often if I lived 5 minutes closer than I do. On doordash (I delivered for them for quite awhile), people that live far away order from this place pretty often, which to me is a testament to the quality of the food. If you are a large party, definitely order take out, it's THAT small and intimate.
I've ordered delivery about 5-10 times and the food has been phenomenal every time. Perfect spice levels and very fresh tasting. Looking forward to going and eating in person soon.
I had ordered on Uber eats and fell in love! I just had to try it in person, I love their drunken noodles ! I have them add broccoli and it’s sooo good ! We tried crab fried rice and they use real crab meat, thai fried rice with chicken was OK, veggie spring rolls were good, and rib appetizer was good too! Thai iced tea was good, it’s like a sweet tea with cream . There was no music at all playing when we dined in. It was a pleasure to see diversity amongst their employees. I’m glad I found this family owned hidden gem, will def return !!!
I ordered crabmeat and paid $5 extra for crispy pork belly. What I was given was not pork belly but instead parts of regular pork, probably then being cheap. I order from here quite a bit so I was very disappointed when I didn't receive what I order which I always get. I called the store and they said they can't do anything so I should reach out to Ubereats. Never ordering from here again.
Excellent service, food was delicious and well presented. The place feels like you're eating with family, I try almost everything they have to offer. And I can recommend anything on the menu
Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed
PS: don't forget to try the Thai Iced Tea, it's so good
For a while, I was in love with their shrimp drunken noodles, but then they hired a new chef or something, and the noodles were awful, so I stopped going. I made the decision to return today for lunch, and when I got there, the food was piping hot and delicious (like how it used to be), so I knew it had just been made. The price is a little high ($15) but it will definitely be worth it if they give at least 6 or 7 shrimps instead of just 5.

I recently did a catering order of six different items and it was fabulous. All of my guess enjoyed the food. Thank you!
Best food ever seriously a friend recommended it I went and it was amazing. Family owned so it’s very authentic.
The food is always great here and made fast!
It's a very cute spot. Cozy, VERY cozy. I'm not sure if there was a parking lot for the location. We parked in close proximity. The food was well done and fresh.
3.5 - just okay. Curry didn’t taste super authentic, but it wasn’t offensive. I really love to find places that have very authentic flavors(I am ruined after a trip to Thailand), but it is harder to come by in NJ, and a lot of places pander to Western, sweet-tooth/less spicy palettes. At a minimum, it must be better than I can rustle up myself with a can of curry paste. I think this was just okay, but the flavors didn’t rock my world at all.

DELICIOUS!
Excellent food. Have been ordering since 5+ years.. consistent taste & quality. Must try!
The Best Thai Food I have in the region.
Jen does fine job of entertaining and educating you on Thai food. Authentic cooks, under the lead of Mom, really do a nice job!
Grab and go restaurant. 🪑 for a max of 7-8 people but the food is scrumptious and not too much sodium. Like spicy? They've go it for you! Just ask... My favorite right now is Dragon Noodles without the chili and the coconut lemongrass soup. Yummmmm🥰
Usually have dinner here once a week and the food is always fresh and delicious. The owner definitely cares for her customers and knows the regulars by name. I know if you are wanting authentic Thai food this place delivers on all levels. They also will accommodate with any requests you might have😊
My go-to Thai place
My favorite place to eat. Jen is amazing. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Would eat here everyday if I could. The duck is AMAZING.
I ordered Thai chicken wings and they were not appetizing at all . The crispy chicken was dry and the rice wasn’t tasty, I liked the spring roll and I wasn’t offered any sauce and just like the reviews the girl seemed sad and ready to get back to her cell phone. I will not recommend or revisit.
One of the better Thai places that I go to.
Consistent delicious food.
I always order from here when we crave Thai and it’s always delicious.
The food is ok. I have tried everything in the menu. Curries and noodles are average but their fried rice is outstanding.
Service ok, the girl working there seems to always be sad, like no personality at all.
No. Ordered chicken pad Thai lunch special- they gave me shrimp. Fine whatever. It was only 4 pieces of shrimp and dry noodles jam packed into the container. I'm literally sitting here cutting my noodle globs with a knife. I'll drive the 10 extra minutes next time to go to the place on Washington ave.
Very good food and great people.
Authentic thai food, especially their pad thai. Street parking should be easy around or u can probably use the little plaza across the road.
This place is absolutely delicious its very much worth the price. They give you a nice portion and the flavor is something that I can never replicate at home it's delicious.
First time here and they did not disappoint on flavor!
I ordered a lot considering it was my first time because I was starving lol I’m vegan and asked the young lady did they modify certain dishes for vegans she said yes. I ordered
Thai basil eggplant
Drunken noodles
Spicy chili Thai
Avocado rolls
Spring rolls
All delicious but my only complaint is that the portions for the stir fry dishes were too small for the price, they were literally in lunch size containers so that was disappointing.
Can't comment on service or atmosphere. I order and pick up for take out. The food is great though; they always get my order right!
Finding parking in order to run in and get your food is a bit of a situation though... Bring your patience.
It's a small space, the food was not that flavorful but they were friendly. I ate there once and never returned.
Nice little Thai place located in a relatively busy street corner. Hard to park but great for take out. The Pad See Ew and the fried rice are their best sellers!
They have the best Pad Thai. I went to a different restaurant today and tried the Pad Thai. All I have to say is they don’t make it like the one in Bloomfield.
For the price I don't feel like they give you enough food. Food is good.
Excellent food! Some of the best Thai I've had in awhile. Loved the soup and thr Three Kings.
The Food is Good but they charge you $ 8.95 for the Thai chicken wings when u only get 2 chopped up and the chicken dumplings $6.95 and u get 4 small ones Too expensive for my taste will look around for another place!!
Tom kha soup only had mushroom and chicken? Where are the rest of the ingredients. Super sweet tastes like dessert. Panang curry only had peppers and chicken in it. I don’t even know what I just ate . This is not the thai food that I know…. Horrible experience
This place has pretty good drunken noodles. That flavor is quite good and the portions are decent for the price not as good as some places but not too bad.
The panang curry however is without a doubt the worst panang I've ever had in my life. It was like soup extremely watery and loaded with vegetables unlike traditional panang. It was overly sweet and not at all spicy even though I specifically asked for it to be very spicy. Panang clearly wasn't freshly made either with the amount of separation in the curry sauce and lack of spice that I requested. Overall pretty disappointed with this place.
Finally got here. Did not disappoint.
excellent!
Food was okay. Worth my plate but parking was non existant. Then tried to sit in and eat but translation problem made it to go? I like the food but I also like my vehicle. Will keep wandering for Tai food options in area.
The food is actually good I love the drunkin man noodles and the pine apple fried rice.thumps up !!!
This is a small corner resto with a lovely atmosphere. The place was warm and is well decorated with a few chairs for dine in guest. We had the pad see ew and curry puffs. Both dishes were amazing and tasted like authentic thai. We enjoyed every bit. The presentation was beautiful and the service was great. Nice and clean too. There is only street parking however but it wasnt hard to find parking nearby. We would definetly return.
Just ordered from here off of Ubereats and words cannot describe how happy this food made me. I got the drunken noodles and the Singaporean noodle with 'Mild' spice and it was so delicious omg. Just one thing, the mild spice isn't what you typically think mild is. It's more like a scotch bonnet type of spice rather than jalapeño. But the food is so good, you won't mind it after the third bite! 100 stars!!
Fantastic and consistent, we have been eating at this restaurant for a couple of years and love it.
The curry puffs are the best thing on the menu. Do yourself a favor and order them.
My family and I were just passing this area and needed a good dinner. We all really enjoyed everything we got was well seasoned and absolutely scrumptious. I will be going back if I'm in the area to try more items on the menu.
Delicious, reliable thai delivery
I ordered a couple of pints of jasmine rice and they were half full. I don't understand why they don't fill it up to the top.
great prices, and food. We like the pad thai lunch special
Extremely small portions. The fried banana and icecream was good though
Good food good service definitely call your order in or you’ll be waiting a while
Very bad food. It is inauthentic and simply tastes awful. I ordered penang curry, I've had really good thai food and this is not it. It tastes spoiled and there were no authentic ingredients, not to mention it was watery. The pad thai was ok but overly sweet and inauthentic again. For a place that has high prices I expected good food. Guess I was wrong to have those expectations. I ordered through grubhub, maybe it is different in person.
Papa chicken fried rice was good and staff was very friendly. I was able to customize an order that wasn't listed on the menue...deep fried spicy chicken with basil
Best Thai food around- can’t stop ordering Tofu pad Thai!
This was our first visit and definitely won’t be the last. Food was absolutely delectable and you will not be disappointed. Portion sizes are very generous. Great staff.
Wonderful Thai Food. Got the Pad See Ew and the pad Thai. Both were great! And of course the wonderful Thai Iced Tea. Highly recommend.,
I had wanton soup, great but hot.
And Pad Thai, could have been spicier.
Delicious, the avocado egg rolls were amazing!!!
So I've been ordering different items to try from this restaurant on Doordash and pretty much everything I've tried is gross. The only item that's been consistently good is the Salmon in the Sea. Other than that, their food is super greasy and overpriced and looks nothing like the photos. I guess they only serve the good stuff when you eat there instead of delivery.
I have too much to say. As someone who goes out to eat 4 times a weeks and travels often, this is my favorite restaurant on Earth. Period.
Great food! Great taste!
A diluted curry mostly water. Also really bad after effect of the food, I feel horrible after eating whatever they sent me.
Local Bloomfield small Thai food eatery. The food is really good and they have indoor dining
I’m glad I found this family owned hidden gem, will def return !!!
Great inexpensive Pad tai, I get it level 3 with extra peanuts.
Really bad customer service.
I've been getting their Shrimp Drunken Noodles for a while and it's always been a 10 out 10. Ever since December I noticed it's not the same anymore. I tried it at least 3 times this month and I give up. It's not the SAME 😭. The noodles are bland, the eggs are too burnt, and they cheap out on the shrimps. If the chef changed can you guys please bring back the old chef 🙏.
I ordered pot stickers and the coconut rice. The rice was overly sweet ,not to mention the sauce was spilled all over the bag and it was not sticky it was just a clump of mess. The pot stickers at Friday’s taste better plus you get more for a cheaper price and it’s processed. I had high hopes for this place and especially being that I love Thai food but this is my first and last buy. A new chef or recipe is needed.
DELICIOUS! We are used to having amazing, authentic Thai food in NYC and felt disappointed after moving to this area and trying many highly rated/recommended Thai restaurants. That is until we found Papa Thai Chef! We loved the drunken noodle, Pad Thai, and Thai Basil with Pork. The papaya salad is too sweet for my taste but might try ordering medium or spicy to see if that makes a difference. Their lunch special menu is quite worth it (weekdays only). Take out process is very efficient
waiter doesnt wear a mask. Management should enforce it.
food was good.
Absolutely delicious n fresh .
I had the basil fried rice and the roti with massaman curry
really good food super impressed
Chicken pad Thai special is my go to
Best Thai food in the greater Newark area.
I'm in need of a Cold glass of milk after eating Papas medium spicy! Oh my god!! So, I ordered purry cuffs and shrimp rolls for apps. Wow! Mmmmm mmmm mmmmm! So delish! Seriously, order them now! Pad thai with crispy chicken (no peanuts) and Thai fried rice with shrimp! This food was so legit! Fresh... spicy... I asked for medium spice lol!! And absolutely delish!! Best Thai food around hands down!!! Don't wait.. go now! Yum yum❤
Best Pad Thai in town!
First time visiting Papa Thai as a recommendation from a friend and I can say hands down the food was delicious, fresh and prices were great!! Definitely will be going back again.
Their pad Thai was so good. Not dry or short of ingredients. Drunken noodle and the green curry with crispy pork belly was excellent as well!
So yummy - best Thai I’ve had in the area. I recently moved away from the Kinnelon area and there’s a restaurant there that has the best drunken noodles I’ve ever tried and I’ve been searching high and low for a place that’s just as good and this may be it! Perfectly flavored, good portions, average price. I also had the spring rolls which were great too, plenty of filling inside and the sauce is just a sweet thai but it was good.
Authentic thai food!
Best Thai food outside of NYC. We frequent here OFTEN! Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle are especially good. And their spicy means SPICY! 🔥🔥🔥 Support this incredible local business.
very good, I love spice in my food and this has just enough when I ask for it to be "extra spicy".
100% Flavorless Pad Thai, Tom yum was cold and the veggies didn’t seem too fresh. Miss the old owners, you have to put love into your plates, not just serve them. Won’t be coming back.
I liked the food even though the taste felt different.
I love this place. Can I reiterate how much I love this place. Their basil fried rice is to die over!!!! 💓💓💖
Legitimately fantastic. Never been disappointed - good options for Thai food purists or people looking to try it out for the first time.
Ordered wasn't satisfied for the size of the meal along with price. They're meal size came in a small container; that if I ordered the lunch price for it would I expect smaller & more the price, 👎. The pork was too dried out. If paying $60.00 for 2 small containers and a small waton along with another entrée (which the only decent meal) not pleased won't order from here again
This is my new favorite local Thai place. They deliver off of Seamless and have lunch specials. If you love spicy food they have a "Thai street spicy" level that brings real heat without making it sweet or overly greasy.
The Thai basil fried 🍚 is banging!!!
Great food, and wonderful people! I highly recommend.. you won’t be let down !
The drunken noodles and Singapore noodles were delicious. The crispy chicken and pork belly were wonderful complements. And the wings and curry puffs were amazing appetizers. Overall, my party had an amazing experience and will return!
Popped in because we had been hearing great things about the food and was not let down! Ordered the curry puffs and Thai chicken wings that were fantastic and couldn’t make up my mind between the spicy green noodle and the green curry ended up getting both and will be making a return to try more of the menu very soon!
I was happy with the ribs and red curry with crispy pork belly that came with a side of rice that I got for takeout. I'd go back.
Don’t like fish sauce but that’s a personal problem. Don’t Blame chef it’s a me problem I guess. Felt ill don’t know why. Whoops
I hated everything I got. Green curry I specifically requested to make spicy but it was not spicy. Both the green curry and the tom yum soup tasted like a lot of sugar was added. Lacked critical thai herbs such as galangal, ginger, keffir lime leaves, and fish sauce. It honestly made me want to cry. I miss good thai food and this place leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I could have enjoyed the food but it was made for someone who doesn't know or had thai food before, classic food trick. Skimp on herbs and quality ingredients in place of sugar. If anyone has any actually good thai places in northern Jersey please let me know.
Absolutely love the basal fried rice with chicken the is delicious prices are fairly good great place give it a try
Long wait. Parking issues
We ordered takeout from Papa Thai Chef. For starters, we ordered spring rolls, dumplings, and curry puffs. Spring rolls were exactly as I’d expect a spring roll; nicely fried and crunchy. Curry puffs were the best I’ve ever had. The curry flavor was pronounced, which is often lacking. I’d have liked more of the dipping sauces provided with each appetizer.
For mains we ordered pad Thai and massaman curry with crispy chicken. Pad Thai was a perfectly stock pad Thai and exactly what I was craving. The curry was lacking in flavor; I kept searching for a little punch of spice. The crispy chicken was packaged separately and nicely cooked.
Alil pricey
Wow, did not expect all this goodness! Tried for first time. Random GrubHub search. I am happy to have found Papa Thai! Will be my go to Thai restaurant. Duck was cooked perfectly. Panang Curry was right on. Steak salad, delicious dressing along with a steak that just melts in your mouth. Great selection of rolls...Duck, avacodo and veggie...well presented and all very tasty. Thank you Papa Thai!
When you order a dish without peppers because you have allergies to them and they wrote it down with on my order , yet they cooked my dish with peppers. What else I could expect?language barrier? Food was just so so ... nothing like it’s predecessor . Really disappointed :-( Waste of $40 since I had to throw it out...
Very, very, very impressed.
Great food and wonderful staff
Very GOOD! Though we had to take the food home, because of Covid-19.
I've ordered five or six times and everything I've had is consistently delicious. A great addition to the neighborhood after the loss of Spice with great lunch specials as well. Highly recommend!
Calling out all the foodies!! This is a must try restaurant if you’re in the area. The Thai Iced Tea 👌, the chicken wings 👌, the pad Thai 👌 amazing I say!! Will definitely be a regular there.
The food was great and very friendly staff. Great variety and would recommend to others who want to experience an authentic Thai culinary cuisine.
Highly recommended!! Food was delicious and amazing service. I will definitely be a regular at this place. Trendy food and service, finally a Thai restaurant that’s young and fresh in the area.
Excellent service, food was delicious and well presented. The place feels like you're eating with family, I try almost everything they have to offer. And I can recommend anything on the menu
Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed
PS: don't forget to try the Thai Iced Tea, it's so good
