Just ordered take out on a Saturday night. Street noodles and pineapple fried rice. Both are pretty burnt. Have no idea what happened to the kitchen that these are allowed to be out!!! And we ordered pork with the noodles, but it came with chicken. Their line is always busy, no way to reach them.
Saturday, @ 200pm. We had the beef street noodles and a side of Rangoon. The food was fantastic! They have a huge menu with many options. The service was good. Waiter seemed to be in a rush for some reason, may just be used to the usual lunch crowd that's in a hurry. He was polite and knowledgeable. The place was immaculately clean and tables set for a king. My only complaint is the place was freezing cold. I was dressed in warm winter gear and still cold. (I've lived here over 40 years). Hot drinks were few, only 2 types of tea and no chi? I would easily go back for the food, but if I walk in and it's that cold again, I will turn around and walk out.
Ordered takeout from Simply Thai, service was awesome and food was even better! Everything tasted hot and fresh, and the portions were enough for two meals. I highly recommend the sweet and sour shrimp and the thai tea with boba. I got to talk with Jed, awesome dude!
Everything I've had at Simply Thai has been simply the best! Our favorites are the Prik King, fried Thai rice, and of course the pa Thai. Also really love their crab pockets. We like to stop in say Simply Thai about twice a month on our way out of town. The service is really nice, too. π
Wow, where to start with the awful experience at this place. I could tell you about the absolute lack of service, like how the dirty plates were never cleared from our table or waters never refilled. I could even go into the fact that our food all came out at different times, to where the first person was done eating by the time the last person got their food (only 3 of us, btw, not a huge table or anything). The second biggest issue, though, was that they were out of half the food (at 6 on a Friday). I didn't get any rice, because they were out. They were out of mangos, and custard. But the biggest thing was our terrible, terrible waiter. Now I'm not a Karen, we were not rude at all, just asking about our food at times. This waiter told us, by the end of the meal and endless issues, that he could "tell you have a spiel for me, but I don't have time for that", or my absolute favorite, "maybe you should just come on a weekday if you don't want issues." (When I pointed out Friday is a weekday, he said Friday's don't count). So, apparently this place doesn't want your business on the weekends if you want to dine in, as us and the two other tables in the place were getting lower priority then the take out orders. I get Fridays can be busy, and the actual food was pretty good, but I cannot remember ever having a waiter imply it was my fault my experience was awful for coming to eat in the dining room early on a Friday. ALSO PSA: The ice cream their website says is made using coconut milk (entire reason my dietary restricted sister wanted to come here for her birthday) is made using regular dairy, and has been since covid. Luckily we thought to ask before she ate any.
I had asked for a spicy plate. The waiter told me, "on a Scale of 1 - 5 how spicy?" I told her I want 5. She told me, "I don't think you can handle 5, because 5 is really spicy." I told her, Give me 5. But she didn't. She gave me 3 and it wasn't spicy at all, not one bit. I had to ask for a side of peppers and even those peppers weren't even spicy too. The food is good. Not just spicy like most Thai places that I have been to. I also didn't like the sauce for the Spring Roll, it was sweet and sour sauce that was used for egg rolls. Eating it with Spring Rolls made it taste nasty. The customer service is great.

Great food, nice small restaurant.
Yummy Thia food close to home! I recommend dining in since when your order from any home delivery service they skimp on your portion size.
I really enjoy Simply Thai. Last week I ordered Pad Thai, my standard order, and was disappointed. Very little protein in the dish, actually almost non existent. Im sure its a way to cut costs but please dont skimp on the chicken. Previously the pad thai was very delicious.

The food is just fine and the service is good if Jake is present but in his absence, the service is not good at all.
The food here is really great. Service the past few times we've gone has been lacking. Order online. The service for dine is horrible.

Always enjoy this restaurant. Simply thai makes to order and we love hot and spicy food.

Good food. Nice service. Thank you for having us.
Great people the owners son is there and he's nice the food and milk Chai tea is great and makes the whole day feel great with all types of people talking about the food we couldn't stay long after we ate because it was full
They have quiet music playing food is super good but I wish they didn't take so long I recommend this place for when you have plenty of time to wait but you can pock up the food to.

Wonderful lunch, great service, great prices!!!Will definitely come back!
Food was not all that one dish smelled bad and I tossed it in garbage, I ordered a drink and it was not in my delivery bag. Not cheap and not good!!!
The food here was delicious, the soup came and it looked so bland , but was jam packed with delicious flavor, my only complaint was the employees have zero urgency, we stood at the front for a while before she came up and sat us . Then we sat at the table for 15 minutes before we finally got up and had to ask for the server. Other than that everything was good
Nice place, lots of vegan options. Love the curry
I love this place! Food is amazing loved the spicy noodles, wonton soup, teriyaki chicken. Now to try more on the menu.
EVERYTHING was excellent and we can't wait to go back and try more!!
Always great. Pad see ew and papaya salad are to die for
I was Greeted by staff That was very unenthusiastic to be serving anybody.
I paid twenty five dollars for green beef curry with rice And four crab and cream cheese ragoons. The rice was slightly burnt and looked to be a day old. The beef curry had no flavor other than sweet coconut milk. There was no curry flavor or cilantro flavor that it's supposed to taste like. It was so runny it was almost soup. The crab ragoons was imitation. Crab mostly with very little cream cheese. It was not good.
Overall I will never ever go back. I am sad I spent that much money on a Meal that I will not finish.
Great food, and great service.
Wonderful
Duck was overcooked. The appetizer combo plate was very disappointing. But the green curry was delicious. Slow service.
Very delicious,
The Food I had was Soooooooooooooo good I love their noodle soup.
Came to Reno for a business trip, and on my last night, Doordashed some food from here. YA'LL; the beef salad was probably the best Thai beef salad I have ever had. The fish cakes were delicious too!
Fantastic Thai food that never fails! We've been here multiple times and always leave happy. Their pad thai, tom kha soup and panang curry are the best.
They state this is authentic Thai food. Sorry, someone has never been to Thailand or they think this area wants Americanized Thai food.
Please give us the original taste of authentic Thai food.
Normally order out. This food has been the same since I've been ordering it for over 5 years. They knock it out of the park every time
I waited to try this place twice before I wrote a review. I dont want to say the food is bad... but it's a far cry from good Thai food. Very little flavor in the noodle dishes and all the appetizers were heated from frozen. The mango sticky rice was alright, but there are far better Thai places in Sparks/Reno.
Closes at 8pm yet they shut down the kitchen and restaurant at 7:30?! Super frustrating because they wouldn't pick up the phone for a to-go order prior. Super disappointing. Either stay open until 8pm or change your times.
Always a good experience at Simply Thai! Great food and friendly atmosphere.
Hands down the best Thai food in the Sparks/ Reno area.
Their Pad Thai, Basil eggplant and Pumpkin curry is phenomenal.
Order every 2 weeks (sometime more)
Highly recommend β‘β‘β‘β‘β‘β‘β‘β‘β‘
I walked in at 7:28 and was kicked out since they closed at 8. Why advertise they close at 8 if thats not true? Very rude lady
Took a 30min drive in traffic to get here. Worth it!! The food, especially the sauces, were amazing. I respect the question "level of spicy 1-5?" Hazelnut Boba helped mellow out my level 3 spicy shrimp. I give a 4 star because customer service could of been better. I left rushed ordering even though we were the only people in there. It got busy shortly after. We'll be back
This is the best Thai food I've had in a Reno, heck actually probably anywhere!! The service was a little slow but it seemed like there was only one person working the whole front of house and that being considered the service was great! I wish I would've taken a picture of the food but it was good my family and I just inhaled it. It's probably a good thing I don't live closer to Simply Thai, because of I did is be here everyday.
Super yummy! Great service, they are clearly always working hard in there! And the food is delicious! Not to mention the price is great, lunch special with a drink and a side of pad Thai was $22! Happy!
Nice little place. They make everything from scratch, so it takes a little time, but well worth the wait. Excellent Thai food.
Some of the best Thai food Iβve had. The curry puffs and salad rolls were delish for appetizers.
I got food poisoning after eating hereβ¦
First time at this Thai restaurant...great appetizers, main courses were delicious. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on the different entries. Would definitely recommend Simply Thai if you are up in the Spanish Springs area.
Anything fried is pretty good. Pad tie is garbage, Worst I've ever had.
Nice little local Thai restaurant in Spanish Springs. When it comes to Thai food, I have to admit I am a creature of habit so I can only give you a review on my usual favorites. You cannot go wrong with the yellow curry with chicken, the salad rolls and the sweet sticky rice with mango. A must try if you're looking for a Thai restaurant in the Spanish Springs area.
Wow food was delicious my kid say tasted like heaven.
Best Thai food I ever had thatβs for sure.
Very friendly staff, delicious food and large menu with lots of variety to choose from.
Weβve been meaning to try Simply Thai for awhile and finally had the opportunity this week. Food was great, lots of flavor, good portions, prices were reasonable, and not at all greasy, weβve found our new, close to home, take out spot and will be going back soon!
Update 3/13/22: Weβve been dining here for years and loved the couple that owned the restaurant. They have retired and the new owner is very unaccommodating. We wonβt be back
I walked in to get food to go. It was prepared quickly, had nice spice, I got mild since I am a baby. Water was also offered while I waited.
Best Thai in the reno sparks area
They have the best Pad Tie noodles I have ever had.
This is the first time we have been here. The food was vary good.
I just drove by.
Simply the best!!
I know the owners and they run this place amazingly and are efficient. Definitely would go
Ordered ahead when I got to restaurant order was not even started when I arrived I waited s other 25 minutes. Better off going to Reno for better choices.
I've ordered food from here five times. The first three times (Oct '21, Jan '22, Mar '22) were great. The last two times were awful. I wish I knew what changed.
Tonight was the second time this year we experienced disappointing food quality. We ordered two Street Noodle (Pad See Ew) dishes (all we've ever ordered) and both were so spicy that they were inedible. Neither of us were able to finish our food because it was just too hot. Normally, we *love* spicy food; the spicier the better. We normally order 4 or 5 out of 5 at other places and enjoy it. I can't emphasize enough: we're no strangers to spice.
In March of this year, we ordered this same dish with 4/5 level of spice and that time it was way too hot. We figured it was an anomaly. So tonight we ordered spice level 3/5, just to be safe, and even that was absurdly spicy. Both times we ordered from here this year, it felt like they just added capsaicin extract to our dishes.
And second, despite persevering through the spice, tonight's food just lacked flavor. The noodles were all stuck together and not mixed well, and many had virtually no seasoning on them (see the bare white noodles in the attached photo). We love spicy Thai food, which is why we were excited about a place so close to us, but unfortunately after two big misses this year we won't be back.
This is a delicious Thai restaurant. Out of the way a bit, but weβll worth the trip.
Simply slow, gave it a few months knowing new ownership.every time I go in there now they are so overwhelmed, they have no idea how to run this place!!
Delicious food
Amazing food, big portions, great service to those dining in and takeout.
I tried the beef salad which was very good. I placed my order online and picked it up at the restaurant.
quick service and delicious food
I love a good yellow curry, and this place has exactly that. A great curry that wasnβt too spicy for me with great flavor and hearty portions. I would have posted pictures, but we are too fast. Weβll definitely be back!
The food was good, as always!
So nice to have a good restaurant so close!
Orange chicken is so bomb. Fried rice is good as well. Thank you.
I love it, nothing to complain about from the years of coming here; come and try it out.
New owners unfortunately in recent months. Last review is right- portions got smaller and prices went up. Plus food wasn't AS good as before...sorry:(
Outstanding food and service!!!
All around good place to dine.
Twice now they have not made my order correct and will not answer their phones. They are constantly missing ingredients that I pay for. Over priced and not worth it. Go elsewhere.
Thai is always a treat for us. We love the food here, but the prices went up and the portions got smaller; You get more when you dine in. Boba isn't stirred thoroughly or even made in the special cups. We won't be ordering boba here again.
Good food and worth the wait. Support your locals!
What the FFFF!!! IT SAYS OPEN ON YOUR WEBSITE AND IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR! BUT YOU PUT A VERY LITTLE NOTE IN THE GLASS THAT IS CLOSE ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY! USELESS INFO.
Great tasty food, friendly service, clean ambience β¦ a little bit enclosed.
Very talented chef. Food comes out perfect everytime
Great service.
Unfortunately my meal was less than ideal. What I ordered could only be made by the head chief who was running late. I wasnβt able to get my meal before my lunch break was over. But Jake was very nice and courteous. Jake took time out his day to bring the food to me at work, which I appreciate very much. The food itself was wonderful, and clearly the chief is very talented. I am hopeful my next visit will be even better.
Lovely menu, family owned . Great selection. Lots of vegan( if you're into that) Currys are spot on.
My favorite Thai place in Washoe County! Great people, great service, and great food. Cashews in Love, mmmmmmmmmmm....
Beef Curry, shoe leather
Duck Curry, more fat than meat
Great food, beverages and service. The restaurant was well decorated, clean and comfortable!
Excellent food, excellent service
Some food wasn't spicy for a 4.
Food and service is excellent.
Wonderful food..helpful staff
Food was delicious. I did not know this gem was here all of this time!
I enjoyed the "Basil On Fire" and it was delicious. They asked how spicy I wanted it on a scale of 1 to 5. I said, "4" since I love heat, but didn't want to go too far out on the edge . It was perfect. Wonderful heat that had me sweating, but not in any real pain. Everybody in my party enjoyed their dish. The decor was attractive. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. I would definitely go again if I lived in Sparks.
I went here for the first time with my boyfriend the other day and we got the chicken pad thai as well as the yellow curry with boba. As far as the food goes it was delicious, especially the pad thai. I had never eaten pad thai beforehand so it was a nice experience. The only problem I had with the order was that the boba tasted off. The tapioca balls had a plastic aftertaste to them and had a strange rough texture.
They leave me waiting at the counter for over 10 minutes without so much as a "be with you soon." Then after standing there for 10 minutes I find out they're out of what I'd like to order. Thanks for wasting my time! Could have had the courtesy to at least speak to me beforehand!
Yum!
"Simply" the best Thai food available. Not just in Reno, but anywhere in my opinion.
Good Food π
Great service. Large portions at a very reasonable price. Take out only. Order online and pick up within 20 minutes.
great food great service
One of the only great sit-down restaurants that it's still worth ordering from while their dining room is closed. Ordered online, picked up and drove the 25 minutes back. Food was hot and as delicious as ever.
Also one of the few restaurants in with a heat scale that means anything. 3 is good if you're a fan of heat. 5 is good if you're a fan of sweating and drinking several Thai iced teas.
As far as what to order, their Pad Thai is excellent but the Street Noodles and the Beef Salad are show-stoppers. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Reno area and one of the better Thai places anywhere I've been. Highly, highly recommend.
Got the L7. It was bomb.
A little pricey for some things but overall amazing food that tastes authentic and is delicious. Definitely would recommend the panang curry. Albeit be careful as their food can be spicy
Great food. Nice people. Service was as expected.
Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and the people are so friendly and helpful. Food is not only delicious but fast. Plus you can order online! I highly recommend Simply Thai.
LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Super nice people and amazing food! Combination fried rice, Garlic Goodies beef, and sweet and sour chicken with spring rolls and coconut shrimp is my go to! Amazing food
very good food! their serivice is amazing and in these times supporting a local business is important. the owners are amazing and even gave us a free beer. I will always go back to them. the simple things in life. :)
The Massaman Curry was super good!
It did need to be a tad spicier though.
Both my wife and I ordered meals without fish sauce and tofu instead of meat. We got our food to go and when we got home there was shredded chicken with the tofu through out both of our meals. We wonβt be back.
Normally this place is pretty good, but my recent order to go was supposed to be with no fish sauce and with tofu and wasnβt until I got home and started to eat it (1hr away) that it had chicken in it! Iβve been vegetarian for 20 years so for me thatβs a very annoying thing to have happen. 2 Stars because they are friendly and services us usually good, but wonβt go back.
Both currys were delicious mango. Nice clean restroom nice clean good ambiance for a little place next to a busy freeway and very kind sweet genuine waitresses staff :-)
Some of the best parang curry I have ever had. This place is a hidden gem out here in Spanish Springs.
We eat here at least once a week. Excellent food, wonderful service.
Great food and service.
This place is absolutely amazing. Worth the drive from Lemmon Valley to go here. Love the Spicy Shrimp fried rice. So yummy.
Drive out from lemmon valley worth the drive
Delicious Thai food, great service
Excellent red curry Thai hot is the way to go. It is the real deal. I would highly recommend this place
Good food π
Excellent food, owners are very pleasant and attentive.
Great food & staff
I wish i could give less than one star. This place is awful. The service is wonderful but their food is inedible. You're better off at panda express....
Really great. Fresh. Quick. Clean. Polite service. Wonderful spice n it was authentic!
Good food, nice ambience
If youβre looking for some really delicious Thai food this is the place to go hands down! Great prices, Great food, and Great service! This is my new favorite place to eat!
Great place. Clean, well designed comfortable space, friendly service and good food. Server even boxed up the left over for us in good spill resistant packaging. Fountain soft drinks with free refills (a very rare thing in small Thai restaurants). Wonton soup was fresh and loaded with vegetables and wontons.
Great soup
Excellent food and service. Friendly efficient staff
Our service was very good and the food was quite adequate I had the garlic eggplant which I liked
Good Thai for people in Spanish springs. Yellow curry is delicious.
This place is an absolute gem! It's family run and they're just really delightful people that cook amazing food. Hands down my favorite place in town for Thai food. They're not open that late, so I recommend going there for lunch, if you can.
I don't review anywhere, but for this place, I just had to because it is a damn shame how little business they get. I grew up on thai food in vegas and this place beats any place I could find there. All the curries and beef salad are absolutely killer. They deserve to be slam packed 24/7 but most of the times I come, it's empty (but a ton of people come in to grab to go). I assume this is just because it's location is so remote but I hope that more people will make the drive because it's worth it.
Small quaint place with very good food
Excellent food and service. Huge menu. Small, intimate restaurant. Will definitely go back for more.
Delicious! Great service! Quiet and lovely place.
Favorite place to eat everytime I come visit my family.
I went here last Wednesday, ordered Yellow Curry, and spent the next 2 days with severe food poisoning. YMMV, I will personally never be back.
WORST SERVICE EVER! I don't actually even think that is an accurate statement. Rather, if you want to not be served, this is the place to go. We sat at a table for over 10 minutes. Had menus thrown on the table. No drinks offered, water never poured. After more than 10 minutes another family came in, were greeted and sat immediately- while I had to track someone down to figure out if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated - and immediately had water poured for them. I have never eaten here and I guarantee I never will. NEVER.
Our new favorite Thai Restaurant. Really well prepared food and the owners are wonderful.
I love the yellow curry and everything rice.
Always yummy. Family owned traditional Thai.
Went here because of the reviews and a friend recommended it. The food was good but it tasted reheated. I got the yellow curry and the potatoβs were undercooked and room temperature in the middle.
By far some of the best Thai food Iβve ever had!! Everything was flavorful and delicious! I canβt say enough good. My favorites were definetly spicy noodles and the garlic goodies both chicken.
