Food-Yellow chicken curry was absolutely AH-MAZING!!!! Coconut based, creamy, smooth, spice level 2 was mild with small kick. Chicken was so soft. Jasmine rice perfect. Lots of sauce….it was heavenly!
Husband liked his Pad Thai as well with level 1, said he could’ve gone up to 3 to be perfect. Heavier on red curry than other Pad Thai we’ve had. Chicken was moist.

Atmosphere-restaurant is very clean, very quiet 12 tables, one server plus a food runner. Only issue was sever was very busy they had to take care of the takeout orders, all of the tables, plus the checks. Certainly a lot for one person but they were friendly.

Food was very good. Service was excellent.

Ordered veg balls, tofu appetizer, Singapore noodles and yellow curry.

Except for the tofu appetizer everything else was good. Singapore noodles texture was much different to other restaurants but the taste was good.

Excellent food and great customer service. The pineapple fried rice was amazing. The rest of our family enjoyed their meal as well. Will definitely be back.

I can't believe this was our first visit. My husband got a spicy curry dish and I got the lemongrass dish and both were delightful. So fresh and authentic. TO GO ORDER-
I miss the old yellow curry and spring rolls. My last 2 orders have been disappointing, and I think after this order, I will have to find a new Thai place. Spring rolls were beyond soggy, and I always included them in my to go orders. My yellow curry that used to have a ton of flavor and full of spice was watery, bland, and pale in color, unlike any other time I've ordered it. I'm super disappointed in the food, but the service is still amazing.

I stopped in right when the opened at 5 to get a to-go order, and it was ready very quickly. There are about a dozen tables inside, so it’s not huge, but it’s a nice atmosphere inside. Service was very friendly as well. We got Thai fried rice, yellow curry, and pad Thai. All were VERY good and plenty of food for the price! I’d highly recommend this place.

Another win on “try a new place” night. We were seated right away. Our waiter asked if we had any questions and then guided us toward a good order for each of us. I had a seafood combination. My wife had a chicken in yellow curry dish. One of our friends had “taste of Thailand.” The other had a chicken dish. We all agreed that the food was delicious! Mine made me hum. So much flavor! We will definitely go back. The menu is pretty extensive, and it would be easy to say I’ll try something else next time, but I won’t. Unless it’s an appetizer. What I had was too good to not have it again. Everything was as good as it gets!

Today when i came in for lunch with my girlfriend i was greeted by Furuk, one of the owners. We were quickly sat and taken care of. Our food was prepared by Rick the main owner and an incredible chef from Thailand. I’ve been eating at this restaurant for around 10 years now and i’ve never been disappointed or put off by poor service or low food quality it’s always been amazingly good.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Omaha. Food and service are top notch. Their Chicken Basil is full of mind-blowing flavor. The Fisherman's Soup is also amazing. I've been coming here for well over a decade and it never disappoints.

Really good food here. If you're looking for a great taste of orient food then this is the place. The couple we say next to asked what we were eating because it looked so yummy, and it was. Their food looked yummy too so we traded our thoughts about the dishes we got and we all dished about how good the food was. Had a really nice time and we all chatted and laughed and enjoyed our great food. It is true great food brings people together! Service was outstanding as well, staff was so friendly, just awesome!

This place is the best Thai food in west Omaha! I’ve never dined in, but they have plenty of seating and there’s always a handful of folks dining in. The food is top notch! It’s fresh, flavorful and the spice level (0-10) is dependable. I love spicy and husband doesn’t so it’s nice to get reliably spicy or non-spicy pad Thai. I’d you don’t know what to try, treat your self to the pineapple fried rice (shrimp and chicken). The presentation is great but the flavor surpasses any fried rice dish I’ve had. Yum yum yummy!!

This place is a tucked away gem! The pad Thai was perfect and the yellow curry was some of the best I've ever had. If you're wanting Thai food I highly recommend going here.

Farik our server was extremely hard working, diligent, and attentive . Very friendly and offered great service. The food is absolutely exceptional. Everything came out fast, and exactly as ordered. He asked how spicy from 1-10. I said 14, and he even brought out a caddy of peppers and hot sauces to go with it. I will definitely be adding this to my regular rotation of restaurants I dine at.

Google maps say they open at 11am. The digital sign in their window says they open at 11am. It's 11:30 and not open :(

We came for lunch and Rick was very friendly with us. We got tofu as our protein and when our meal was served he informed us our spring roll side was vegetarian as well! The food was delicious and we received a larger portion size than I was expecting. We will be back!

This is a family owned restaurant since 2004 in Omaha and in California for many years before 2004. Two brothers now run the restaurant Fariq and Farouq of Thailand and Arabic decent run Taste of Thailand with no other help.

We had the Thai Spings Rolls for appetizers, Chicken Basil and Lemon Grass Chicken then Sweet rice with Mango. What a treat!

I had the unique opportunity to talk with both of these very talented and interesting brothers at the end of their day.

They tell me they gave up their well paying careers of Managing and HD Engineering Artwork to take over this restaurant for Mom and Dad when retirement was required but not before Mom and Dad trained them to cook and run the restaurant. For Mom anything less than perfect was counted unacceptable .

Fariq runs the front delivering so seamlessly taking phone orders and processes take deliveries with ease all while waiting on all tables, making your experience personable and delivering each plate, in a timely manner every.

Farouq runs the back. Carefully preparing each plate, as he completes orders for each table on time. It is his Artwork you will find hanging on the walls capturing the culture.

No prep cook, no sous chef, no other employees just these two brothers make it all happen.

I watched in amazement as it all came together perfectly from start to finish at each table with only 2 people working here.

I have eaten Thai food for many years in all the best restaurants in Arizona, California, Texas, Colorado and of course here in Nebraska. No other has compared.

Been coming here for years and I still stand by that this is not only the best thai food in omaha it is the best restaurant in omaha the service is absolutely amazing they are extremely kid friendly Rick came and asked me before I paid if he could bring the kiddos a candy and that made there day anytime somebody asks for a thai food recommendation this is always the way I point them 10 out of 10! This is my wife's and i's favorite date night!

This used to be one of my favorite Thai places in town. I used to love the orange curry, pad Thai and pepper chicken. They’ve started using jarred garlic. A restaurant shouldn’t be cutting corners like this. The portions are also smaller than they used to be. They’re cutting corners, reducing portions yet increasing the price. You can’t do all 3 guys! I would be fine with a price hike if the quality and portions stayed the same, but that’s just not the case anymore.

Doesn't look like much when you walk in, but for a Saturday night, it was a full house. This was the first time my boyfriend and I had been to Tast of Thailand. We've found some delicious Thai food in the area and have our favorite places, so we had high expectations based on previous reviews and ratings. If you like Thai food, I HIGHLY recommend this place. This is now my number one authentic Thai restaurant in the area. Both my boyfriend and I cleared our plates. It was that good!!!! We really enjoyed the spring rolls, Thai fried rice and the spicy noodle with chicken.

Warning - the spicy level is hot. We both got a level 6 with our food, and that heat level was at our limit. It was enough to taste the favor of the food and give some heat. Trust me, it was still spicy. I drank a lot of water with this meal. Lol BUT we like spicy food. If you're not a spice person, I would recommend a level 4 or lower.

The staff was extremely friendly but busy. One person who was the host and waitress, and the owner who was delivering the food from the kitchen to the tables. The food came out very quickly after placing the order. If you don't want to do a sit down, you can place a pick up order.

We will be back!

As always, the owner is just spectacular! The food is excellent and the service makes me feel at home. There’s always a smile on everyone’s face. Whether for a family occasion or lunch with friends, ToT never disappoints :D

The best Thai food I have had. I've been coming here for years and it has never been less than perfect. The service is always so quick and friendly, and the food is fantastic. One thing that sets them apart from everywhere else is that spicy means SPICY! When we dined in the guys working recognized all but 1 table or takeout order, us included, I always love chatting with them. If you are wanting thai food in omaha, this is a cant miss spot.

The food, atmosphere, service… and did I mention the food…all deserve 10 stars! Best service at any restraint, hands down. It is so hard to find good service this day and age, but not at Taste of Thailand. I will come here as long as their doors are open.

Always amazing! I'll note I have only had take out, but the staff is always super friendly on the phone and in person. The food is always fresh and delicious. Got the ginger chicken today and it's my new favorite!

Update April 2022. It's a real bummer I can no longer recommend this once awesome restaurant. I completely understand price increases considering the current climate, I do. They're in business to make money. But when it's a nearly $5 increase and you get shorted twice in a row, I'm starting to think it's purposeful. I ordered the dinner portion as usual and the first time I received the lunch size container. I had already made it back to my office and figured it was just a mistake. No big deal. This time I get the dinner portion container with a lunch sized portion filling it only half way with mostly vegetables and very little chicken. Looks like I'll have to find a new favorite spot. A real shame because the food is delicious.

We have not been to Taste of Thailand for almost 2 years, but we remembered liking the take out so we decided to go dine in. When we came in, there was only one other table seated. Our server was nice, but seemed a little flustered by questions, but they did get answered.

Our first sign should have been that the water tasted bad. Our appetizers came out and the spring rolls had good flavor, but were watery inside. The lettuce wraps were okay, but had the texture of ground beef.

The guy that came running out the entrees was in such a hurry it felt like he was throwing them on the table. There was a group of people looking to order food to go and they were standing in the path from the kitchen. Instead of telling them he would be coming in and out and maybe they would like to have a seat while they decided, he rudely told them to sit down because he had to get through. Our entrees came out and two of our dishes had shrimp that was completely unseasoned. The pineapple shrimp curry did have good flavor, but again, zero flavor on the shrimp. Our teenager described his pad Thai chicken as having been pre-chewed. I tried it and had a hard time swallowing it.

We decided to just go, so we asked for the check. The guy from before asked my husband if he liked it and he said no, but we would just take the check. He turned to me and asked if I liked it and I said the sauce was fine, but the shrimp needed seasoning. He said okay, but seemed at a loss for what to do. We said we would just take the check, so he left and our server brought back our full price $89.00 bill which we paid and we left our full plates on the table and left. Now we have stomach aches.

There are so many rave reviews for this place and that just was unfortunately not our experience. Maybe they are taking some shortcuts and are short on staff, but if this is the case, I would consider closing the dining room and returning to take out to lessen the burden on staff.

BIG 5 STARS! I will not get Thai food anywhere else. I have been going here for 13 years and it will continue to be my favorite Thai restaurant. The owner is incredibly nice and helpful! The restaurant is very clean which is another plus (:

Everything was top notch. Service, atmosphere, food. We waited way too long to go here and won't make the mistake of waiting too long to go back. Pad thai yum. Vegetable spring rolls the best. Happy shrimp balls, excellent. Just so good!!!!!!!!

Had the southern chicken (spice level 3) and it was some of the most scrumptious food I've ever eaten, and came in under $15

top 3 best Thai food in Omaha. staff is very friendly. I've been coming here for years and for the past eight months the service has taken very long. look I love this place but it took 45 minutes to even take my order today, and in the past it has taken very long as well. never got a refill. couldn't ask for chopsticks. for the past forty minutes there's been a lady waiting on her take out order. if they hire someone I'll be back but frankly the wait is significant and I'd rather go somewhere else. poor guy is doing his best but everything takes forever. i wish I could give them more money but there are other good restaurants with decent service. I'm writing this because I'm bored waiting for my check.

Greatest Thailand food in Omaha

10/10! I cannot recommend this place enough!! After I met my fiancé we moved out of Omaha and all I ever heard about was his favorite restaurant, Taste of Thailand. We went with my mom and all 3 of us absolutely LOVED our food. We went at busy lunch time and even though they only had 2 people working, service was impeccable and all tables were promptly cleaned. We will definitely be back not only for the delicious food but for the friendly faces as well!

I had the big shrimp and garlic and also the shrimp fried rice both heat level 3 it was so bomb, both of them .next time I think I will try a little bit higher heat level otherwise it is excellent with service price and flavor definitely recommend

Thai food is our families comfort food, and Taste of Thai is, for us, hands down the best there is. We’ve been to several Thai places all over Omaha, Colorado, Texas and even some in California, and we always end up comparing them to Taste of Thai, and they don’t ever measure up to it. Some get close, but never better than Taste of Thai. We highly recommend.

This has to be like the only place in Omaha that I’m consistently excited for. We got the wrong order yesterday and wasn’t even upset because the wrong order was still amazing. A true gem!

I got the Pad Thai w/ Shrimp with a 5 level spiciness. It was just right. Also had the shrimp balls, which were crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside (a good appetizer consisting of 3 balls on 3 skewers, totaling 9 balls). Fried tofu was great for kids. Wife had noodles with gravy and said it looked like someone threw up in a cup. I asked her how it tasted and she said it was "okay...a garlic lover's dream...too much gravy."

I’ve been coming here for the last 5 years. It’s my absolute favorite Thai place! Their curries are to die for. I live out of state now, but whenever I am back in town I make sure to pick up their yellow curry. I’ve searched for a place that compares, but nothing does. Everyone who works here is so nice, too! Don’t forget to add some vegetable balls and Thai tea.

Not sure why they post online and on their door that they are open till 9. Twice in the last 2 weeks we’ve tried to call in an order at 7:30 and no one picks up. I drove over here tonight and got here at 8 to a totally dark and closed place. Not sure these guys are even in business anymore.

We weren’t able to eat inside due to COVID. However, we went in to order and the guy who took our order was so sweet and polite and happily gave me options to accommodate my vegan diet. The food was out quickly as well. Also was some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Everyone should go here!

It is amazing. They have shut down their dining in service and offer to go service due to COVID. Just call ahead and it's about 15 minutes. I feel safe there as I'm often the only one picking up food--it's so swiftly done. In and out in maybe a minute. Seriously, they're fast in getting you in and out. The food is still as amazing as ever.

There was a 40 minute wait for our carryout order, that is almost always a great sign when you've got a line waiting for a restaurant you've never been too before.(usually) Everywhere my wife and I travel (including Thailand) one of our hobbies is hunting down local Thai restaurants and sizing up their Tom Ka Gai (Coconut Chicken Soup), and the Phanaeng curry(sometimes called red curry). Tom soup was very mild and average, the curry was the same. I won't go back again, but it's an amazing "first time" Thai place for someone that has never tried Thai before. TRY IT!!!

I'm blown away by how flavorful the food is! I ordered the pineapple curry with shrimp at a level 1 spice : soooooo good! And level 1 spice is just right to bring out the flavors but not burn your face off. Also, I got the mango sticky rice : literally the best I've ever had! I can't wait to order from here again 😍😍

Food is exceptional. Drunken noodles with chicken and red curry are our favorites. I agree with one of the reviews on the issues with calling in, but once you get the order, you forget all of that :). Very friendly service.

The food is amazing here, however, trying to call in a simple to go order is a giant joke. They don’t have call waiting, when you call it tells you they are on the other line & then sends to voicemail. If you do get through where it actually rings, you get through to someone that puts you on hold for 10 mins or if it rings & they don’t answer, there’s a message basically telling you they are too busy to fulfill your order. May want to get call waiting/online ordering & also a functional website with a full menu. While I understand I called at 8 pm on a Saturday, and I was fully prepared to wait Longer than normal for my order, they should be equipped to have customers at least place a simple to go order over the phone.

Always love this place. Gets a little busy at the opening of dinner time, but always worth the wait!

Taste of Thailand is by far the best Thai restaurant in Omaha. Their prices are cheap, the food is quality, and the service is even better. The guys who run this place are awesome.

Friendly people, good tasting food. Their packaging for take out has a little issue. Picked up some food for my wife and it leaked and got all over the seat and my sons lap.

Both the chicken and shrimp pad Thai dishes were amazing, as were the spring rolls. Service was great as well. This is a new favorite! But be warned: this place is definitely spicier than other Thai places in town that I've tried.

Excellent food and prompt service. Came in with my service dog and had a nice lunch while in Omaha for the day. Had a comfortable booth with plenty of room for my service dog to relax under the table while I ate. Others in the restaurant also seemed to be enjoying their lunches.

I had their Buffet today everything was great. The server had an incredibly great attitude also. I would highly recommend. The buffet is just on Thursday

I went in with a Groupon. The service was delightful and the yellow curry was my favorite dish. The pineapple fried chicken could need some improvement.

Also we got the Groupon so it doesn’t hurt to have the 50%off I got the taste of Thailand noodles, wow awesome honey pepper sauce (don’t worry you can pick how hot you want it I pick zero hot and it was just that)11.95$ and the Thai fried rice with chicken 11.95 the chicken in the fried rice is the best Iv ever had in any fried rice and iv been to Thailand and China! Great stuff and great place to bring a date ;)

Taste of Thailand is our absolute fave Thai place in Omaha. Consistently high quality food with generous portions. The owners are so friendly and they even remember our orders when we come in. We’ve tried other Thai here but always come back to Taste.

Bad for the service and missing integrity.

1. They serve based on your size although you paid the same amount for an entree. If they see you are small size, they serve less. 2. They applied Groupon coupons after they calculated all taxes, which is wrong.

We went there twice and they did the same twice. Not worthy to go any more.

The food is exceptional and the service couln't be any better. The attention to detail and the friendly owner and staff is the topping on the cake of the good food.

My husband and I came here for lunch today. They had a buffet so we tried that instead of ordering off a menu. The food was very good. Not many choices but it tasted really good. My problem is that I was only allowed to go up for food once. Right after that, they tore the buffet down even though it was not even time yet. I heard another woman at the table next to ours upset about this as well. If the buffet is open until 1:30 it should not be torn down at 1:10. Sorry, but I paid full price like everyone else. I, and the other lady at the next table had ample time before closing to go up again. I was fairly unhappy about that. That was a pretty cheap thing to do to paying customers you knew were still eating. But like I said, tasty food. Too bad I didn't get to try it all. You definitely charged me for it.

Rating is for CUSTOMER SERVICE! I placed a Togo order today, when I was in restaurant to pick up my order, staff was very unprofessional over giving hot sauce - I ordered $50 worth food and they were behaving poor just for a dollar or two worth of hot sauce.

Flavor was excellent, great service, large quantities. Lettuce wrap appetizer was awesome. We both had spice level 6, plenty hot.

Very good food and nice owners and staff. Prices are reasonable and quantities just right. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. We like it enough that is one of our go-to places.
