Hpa-An Cafe; a small Asian Taste Restaurant. Pho Special (Boat Noodle Soup Style). Popular Asian, Thai dishes Such as Pad Thai, Drunken noodle, and Basil Stir-Fried. Plus Multi Flavor of Boba Tea Drinks.
The Hpa-an noodle was really good. Pad Thai among the best I've had anywhere. I got a 6 and it cleared the sinuses but I could still eat it. My new Thai destination for sure.

A few days ago, I visited to satisfy a craving for curry. I noticed they had recently opened and decided to stop in and give it a try. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly and seated me at a booth with menus. The space caught my eye with its vibrant and detailed paintings, which added a unique charm to the restaurant. One painting in particular referenced Myanmar, and when I asked about it, the chef shared that the artist is Karen and originally from Myanmar. He explained that the restaurant was opened by a group of friends who all came from the same refugee camp in Thailand.
The chef, Jester, also shared a bit of his personal story. In addition to his work at the restaurant, he’s a musician who writes in the Nu Metal genre, incorporating both his native language and English into his lyrics. (You can follow him at @jt.live.9 .9.)
Here’s what I ordered:
• Crab Rangoon
• Vegetable Egg Rolls
• Yellow Curry with Shrimp
• Pad Thai with Shrimp
The food was enjoyable, but what truly stood out was the warmth and passion of the team behind the restaurant. While my dietary restrictions limited what I could try, I encourage you to stop by and explore their menu for yourself. I do hope that they share more dishes from their region and would love to see some of those items on the menu in the future. Beyond the food, what impressed me most was the story of resilience and creativity—individuals who have overcome great challenges coming together to share their culture through food and music.
As an immigrant myself, their journey resonated with me deeply. I arrived in the U.S. not knowing English and am so grateful for the opportunities and community support that helped me build a successful business—fulfilling a dream my father had for his kids.

I stopped here on my way to Saigon which is a local place that has amazing food. But I saw the reviews on here and I was a bit suspicious that they were all positive that I went. Anyway, it's in the location of the old. I love pad Thai which was not that good. Everything's a bit dirty, even the bathrooms. The light didn't work correctly in the bathroom either. The person was pretty nice trying to help me order that the menu is very confusing. They have like three little flyers and the stuff is just hard to read. I explained to them what I like. He recommended the dish. It was really just flavorless mush oversized tons of cornstarch. The onions were hard and unedible. The beef was basically just fat. That was unchewable. I got the crispy pork belly due to the reviews and it tasted like old pig fat. They were so hard I couldn't even eat them. So I highly recommend you go down the street to the Vietnamese Asian restaurant which is a staple and amazing for the price or go to council bluffs to Mercy. Ty! They are really impressive for the money. This place for the meal and the appetizer was $25 and was actually some of the worst I've ever had. So do any of the people that did a positive review. Please go try these other places! You'll be totally impressed. This type of food should be fresh and flavorful, not bland old and over sauced
Very friendly service and spectacular food! I had Hpa-An noodles with beef. Great dish and the spice was perfect.Portions and prices were very fair. I will definitely come back.
The food is amazing, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the service is great. This may be the best Thai food I have ever had!
We had a most enjoyable and delectable lunch here. I ordered the Pho while my husband went for his usual drunken noodles. We were both very pleased by the level of service and flavorful dishes. We will definitely return to sample more of the menu.
Best drunken noodles I've had in years. Will definitely be coming back again for more delicious Thai food.
Excellent good! Had the pad see ew, will be back! The ice coffee boba was great!

Yellow curry with pork was delicious. Fried pork belly appetizer was crispy without being extra greasy. The atmosphere is relaxed and the paintings on the walls are beautiful. I would definitely recommend
