Low-key Thai haunt with vibrant decor dishing up familiar fare & a lunch buffet on select days.
Place looks the same visiting this place after 6-8 years, dishes taste good but you can tell that the chef has changed and a bit different.. fried wontons were the one that definitely gave it away chef could not wrap the meets inside as seen her … so maybe a miss … but the taste is still good.
My wife and I have been going here for many years, but had taken a bit of a break for a while. It looks like Victor and the previous staff may not be there anymore, but our last visit a few days ago to get carryout was absolutely delicious! We ordered online and I was able to get a parking spot right out front and get in and out in a matter of literally one minute or less. We ordered Green Curry Chicken, Red Curry Chicken the Bangkok Shrimp and Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoon. Every one of these dishes was excellent both in taste and preparation! We will definitely be getting back to our routine orders from Bangkok!
Perfect spot to grab authentic Thai food. The sum tom was terrific and super spicy. All the food we order were very flavorful. A bit pricey, but its worth a stop. We took a lime ride from double tree and took us 5 minutes.
Don't drink the water please. The wait staff will serve water while putting his fingers and hand all over the rim. If you do drink the water please ask for straws. This is the only set back.
Food was amazing.
Location:easy to find.

Overall, I recommend this eatery for all your Thai fixes. Just don't drink the water served by the waitstaff.
I came here due to the high reviews on Google and I can say I was very disappointed. I ordered the shrimp basil fried rice, chicken drunken noodles, Thai fried chicken, and crab Rangoon for dine in. The Thai chicken was flavorless but it was hot in temperature. The crab Rangoon was a thin wonton wrapper which isn’t what I’m used to and it was small and not that tasty. The basil fried rice was warm in temperature but the shrimp was very hot which means they made the shrimp fresh and mixed it in with the rice which is fine but they should’ve heated the rice up more. The drunken noodles were good but the sauce was too salty. The texture of the noodles were good. The atmosphere of the place is not all the cute but it does have a homey type of feel. The saving grace of this place is the service from our server. I wouldn’t recommend people come unless you just need some food to eat
It doesn't look like much from the outside, and I was shocked that the place was so empty, but Bangkok Kitchen is a great place to get a taste of Thailand. The meal was absolutely delicious. We had the crab rangoons, chicken pad thai, and drunk en noodles. The food came out quick. The entire meal for two of us was just around $30.
Wonderful curry, very flavorful and just the level of spicy I wanted, but appreciated the jar of spice on the table for when I wanted to kick it up a notch. Food was so good I forgot to take a picture! 😄
Will definitely come back for more!
Authentic Thai Food in downtown Omaha! I was craving Thai food and found Bangkok Kitchen on an internet search. I walked the one mile to eat here from my hotel, and it was worth it. They offer spice levels 1-10, and I enjoyed a 5 on both the Pad Se-ew and the Tom Kah Chicken Soup. The soup definitely had more heat than the noodles.
The seating area was empty as it was a Tuesday night, but there were two others at tables. The service was attentive and my water glass was always full. I enjoyed the food very much and will definitely be back when I am in Omaha.
Best Thai in Omaha
We all know the restaurant services has changed since Covid and not for the better. However, since Victor, the owner has retired the establishment has gone down, not only with the portion, and size of their food. I always order a drunken noodle with chicken large. Today I ordered the same large drunken noodle with a chicken and she repeated back to me the order. When my order came, it was a small bowl . When I spoke with the cashier, she went to go get someone else and when that person came he tried to tell me it’s always been that way. I looked at him and I said OK and I walked out. I will not be going back to this establishment anymore. I also ordered two orders of potstickers. They are 699 for five potstickers and they were bite sizes. One bite and it’s gone. I ordered another appetizer the Thai chicken. The wings are so small and it used to be six ,as well as, with some Thai sauce and Green onions on top. Not anymore, they there are only four wings per order and it’s just fried spicy chicken with no Thai sauce on top with green onions. My drunken noodle with chicken I didn’t care for it all.
This place was one of my favorites. Is under new management, dirty restaurant, food was bland and off. Was really looking forward to a spicy Thai meal and was very disappointed. Won’t be back.

Nice Thai place for lunch. Shared a meal with the wife. In the old market area in Omaha.
Forgot silverware in the togo order. Good food though
Tasty food, in a decently convenient location downtown
Very good flavor and heat! Nice environment. Server was on point.
Food was bland and service was lacking. If I could give a 0 star review I would. A waste of $ money.
This is very good traditional food!! Wife’s Cambodian and even she was impressed! Definitely go here
Thai Kitchen is an amazing little restaurant a short drive from Old Market. The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious. I added chicken and had it at spice level 4/10. It was just spicy enough for lunch on a hot day, but I could have easily gone hotter. My husband had the Thai fried chicken, which was also delicious. The service was friendly and fast. We went at 2 pm on a Saturday and were the only patrons the whole time we were there. If that is typical for this place, Omaha is really sleeping on some amazing, authentic Thai food.
i dont know what anyone sees about this place.
this is probably the worst food I've had in this city. apparently you all get take out because it stinks in there, the food wasn't fresh and im pretty sure they used 10 cent Raman noodles and it was luke warm at best. sorry but this is a hard pass from me
Food was very good as well as the service! Iced coffee was amazing! Will definitely be back!
Low key, good food and friendly service
We go to many thai restaurants and this one is spectacular! The shrimp in a blanket were amazing and chicken fried rice… Everything that we ordered was delicious and cooked well. Highly recommend
New ownership has changed the food and it is terrible. Ordered food spicy and it was bland and had no flavor
I hate leaving a bad review, especially since I really loved coming to this restaurant before the change of ownership. But, this is the second time they have screwed up my order and when I call they blame me for the mix up. Not once did they offer to replace my food, even though I said that I would take the wrong one back as no one here would eat it. I rarely go because I live more than 30 minutes away, but when I’m in the mood for Thai food, this was my go to place, but not anymore. Everything was better when Victor was still there. He made sure all the orders were correct, and never blamed the customer for something they didn’t do. If I could, I would leave a 0.5 star review.
Idk why this place is currently rated so high, maybe the quality has dropped off a lot. All I know is I ordered Thai wings and green curry and both might as well have been made in an American restaurant. The wings were nothing more than plain fried wings with Thai dipping sauce. No flavor or seasoning at all to the wings. Speaking of flavor though, the curry was atrocious. The most bland curry I've ever had bar none and I eat Thai everywhere I go. First off it wasn't green. It was clearly yellow, but even if they had brought me yellow by mistake it should still have flavor and I don't mean heat level, I mean that clear distinct aroma and hits of those Thai spices from the paste. It had none, I'm not joking. It was nearly like they had just thrown the coconut milk in with the bell pepper, and that was the only flavor added to the curry. Lastly, the restaurant is in disrepair. The storefront and interior look bad. The checkout area looks like a poorly managed business and plywood walls. The whole time I was inside there was some screaming kid in the back too, not like a guest, but someone in the back of the staff area. In any case this place should be avoided if you're craving good Thai food and service.
$40 for 3 entrees and less than 6 ounces of meat in total. Less than 2 ounces of beef in each entree. Only 5 slivers of beef in the cashew beef, only 6 pieces in the pad thai and other noodle dish. Ordered delivery.
Food is great here. Fantastic flavor.
Service was terribly slow for lunch and even with only 2 other tables filled it took a long time to get our drinks and especially get our entrees.
Best sticky rice in Omaha
The food is so delicious but their hours of operation do not match what’s advertised. If you call and get User Busy then they’re closed. Super frustrating because I crave their food and need it when I want it. If this is normal then they need to update their hours.
This might be the best Thai food in Omaha. The service was fantastic. My food was exceptional. The flavors are exceptionally nuanced and perfectly balanced. I could eat this every single day without complaint.
Ordered take out - drunken chicken noodle super sour, not edible. Been here before several times, new cook?
The best pad thai and eggrolls in Omaha, by far.
Been coming here with my family since before I could order myself! This restaurant sets the bar for Pad Thai - nowhere else comes close!
My favorite
The food was delicious and the service was awesome!
Ive been coming here for 20 years but here lately they have new cooks and the quality of food has went down. The food has been very salty with smaller portions. Sure Miss Victor and his wife in the kitchen
The food was really disappointing and was hoping I found a great little place. The yellow curry had literally raw onion two chunks of potato and a couple of chunks of chicken floating in what tasted like 2% milk with some turmeric or something to make it yellow. It was really disappointing. I had a wide noodle dish with what appeared to be 3-day-old noodles heated in some kind of weird sauce that was not appetizing at all. Where is the veg and the flavor? Will never go back the food was awful.
Place looks the same visiting this place after 6-8 years, dishes taste good but you can tell that the chef has changed and a bit different.. fried wontons were the one that definitely gave it away chef could not wrap the meets inside as seen her … so maybe a miss … but the taste is still good.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Omaha! Great service and very reasonable prices. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant too.
SO tasty, and good prices
Delicious and great service

Probably the most authentic Thai food I've had in Omaha. Give it a try!
Great spot for some good food! Best crab rangoons I’veever had. Lightly fried and airy crunch to it. Must try! Pad Thai was delicious! Curry was decent, though I’ve had better. Chicken wings were fried perfectly!
Took almost an hour to get my food on more than one occasion.
Love this place!
Was closed on SUNDAY, so cannot give my views
Food was great and fast service.
No frills atmosphere. Service is adequate. The food is very good, worth every dollar.
Excellent food. Spice levels accurate
We ordered takeout based on reviews and were not disappointed. This was the best Thai food I've had in a while. The Pad Thai was flavorful and everything, down to the steamed vegetables (which, let's face it, are usually a boring afterthought at these places) was delicious. Highly recommend.
We have been coming here for over 20 years. Victor and his family made incredible food and you always felt special walking in. I was extremely sad to hear about him retiring, but was happy to hear that he trained the new owner on the original recipes.
We went and got our usual, Thai fried rice, broccoli with brown sauce, a stir fry noodle dish and spring rolls. The spring rolls tasted the same. But the rice in both dishes were gummy and stuck together, which I have never experienced before from this place until now. With the broccoli and brown sauce, the sauce was just bland. And I ordered a spice level 4 and could barely taste any spice at all. The stir fry noodles were supposed to be a saucy dish, but they were so dry and flavorless and that was supposed to be a spice level 3.
I am very sad and disappointed that my favorite Thai place just isn't the same. Hoping that maybe they'll take notes to get it back to the amazing food that it once was but until then, it looks like I will be finding a new Thai restaurant.
Bold flavors ! Great prices, try something different you will be glad.UPDATE new people running it seems like they do not want the old customer base anymore raised prices lowered quality not a good combination
Favorite Thai food in Omaha hands down! Been going there for 20 years. Great family!! Love love love!!

Excellent vegan options. Good portions. I loved the spring rolls and the green curry.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Omaha. Crag Rangoon were light and fresh. Small dining area. Spice level 1-10. Excellent food. Oh yeah, get the Thai iced tea!
The food was good, but the portion size was small. But the guy who was serving us was very condescending and did not like the experience. I may order takeout next time instead of going through that experience.
Food was good, service was just ok.
Food is delicious
Double check prices. Online says one thing, but you get charged more in person.
Always great food and great service! Many favorites here and have been a regular for nearly 20 years!
Food was really good, food came out quick and it wasn’t very pricey!
Food was excellent. Customer service was great. Our waiter was very nice. I left my card there and they held it until I came back.

The owner is amazing. I sat down to a great meal with great company and I was by myself lol.
I love Thai food! But I also love good service. I ordered lunch today, and the service that I was provided today was the most horrible service ever. The owner is usually quite, but okay, but today he wasn’t that nice at all, maybe he was having a bad day perhaps I don’t know, but is not my fault. I’ll probably never go back again, but the food is delicious.. this is for the manager/ owner. You need to give good service, and have a smile on your face when speaking to customers, also maybe offering something to drink or if the customers needs anything else will be greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
This place cannot be beat for Thai food. Pad Thai and Curry are especially delicious. Good rolls too. Always friendly. Very affordable.
Excellent food and very fresh.
The Pad Thai is outstanding!
Hot damn, that's good Thai food
Best Thai in town. Relaxed atmosphere. Lots of choices.
Owner was very nice, allowed us to dine in. Portions were way too small for the prices. We were served out of our to go boxes which weren't even full. Food tasted fine though.
Mouthwatering good! My friend and I were in from Las Vegas recently. We love Thai food and eat it everywhere we travel to. We had Bangkok kitchen 2 days in a row because it was so excellent! Not to mention, excellent and friendly service.
Love their pork pad that. Great service!
Need a good thai place in Downtown Omaha? Then Bangkok Kitchen is the spot! Due to COVID, they are still doing takeout orders, but it should not stop you from trying their amazing, authentic Thai cuisine. There are variety of options for you to choose from, even with different levels of spicyness. For a moderate kick, I would go for a 5! Would definitely recommend supporting this business with the sweetest owners :)
I definitely do not enjoy leaving bad reviews for restaurants considering how difficult it is to be in that business right now but our experience warrants that. We ordered two dishes, the pad tofu and the “Poor man’s noodles.” Both were so disappointing…the noodles were dry and flavorless. The pad tofu was just some frozen vegetables in a very watery brown sauce with white rice. When we opened our food at our house, I had to basically cook the vegetables with the rice and add seasoning and soy sauce to add flavor. And we ended up paying $25 for both…maybe we just didn’t order the right items but when you’re paying $10+ per entree, you’d expect something slightly better then what you can make yourself at home. Anyways, we will continue our hunt for good Thai food in Omaha!
The best Friday rice I've ever had
Notice: TAKEOUT ONLY, for now. There's also a $1 increase in price for entrees. Business owners or local guides should help update this page.
I'm writing this review as a tourist. Ordered takeout, got a Chicken Green Curry and Thai Tea. Quite disappointed. (No pictures because it was all in styrofoam and plastic)
Green Curry: Although tasted good, it had barely had any greens. Huge amounts of bamboo shoots and weirdly only a few pieces of bell pepper. It had none of the vegetables you would find in an authentic green curry like Asian eggplants or snow peas, and not even any herbs to garnish. Felt too cheaply made for something that is priced at over $10.
Thai Tea: ASK FOR LESS ICE. Tasted good first sip, but too much ice. Drink got too diluted halfway into my meal.
Overall, I didn't enjoy it. It would have been a good meal if food was priced below $10, but since it's over $10, it should have some standards, and for the curry I just felt like it wasn't up to par. But hey, if you're local, do support them, these are hard times right now. Maybe try the noodles since they look good from the pictures.
Great local Thai place. Their dining room has been closed since COVID started, so it's carryout only, and still is as of this 2022 review. Great food, regardless.
Best Thai fried rice currently not in omaha but craving and glad they're still open!!!
Best Bangkok in town. Love the drunken noodles with fried tofu!
I love this place! They always make my food fresh and on time...I have never had an issue with quality. My food if perfect everytime, they never skip a beat!
Delicious food, and large proportions
If your looking for a new Thai to try out and have never eaten from Bangkok Kitchen, I highly recommend going here. Best Thai food ever. Nice place to go and dine in as well. Very relaxed and casual. The Beef Pad Thai and Spring Rolls are some of the blessings Bangkok Kitchen serves. Happy Eating!😉
Food was very dry and there wasn’t much seasoning
Great food, and delicious Thai tea!
Absolutely delicious
The drunken noodles are very good. One of my favorite places to grab Thai food. They also have good seasonings and spices in the dishes.
Their lemongrass chicken is soo delicious 😋
Food so so. Portion size not great. If hungry, probably try another place.
Great pad thai. Great thai tea. I love this little restaurant.
Bangkok kitchen is open for takeout. Their dishes are wonderful, you choose the level of spice. Cannot ask for better Thai food and the owners are genuinely nice people!
Got takeout from here and enjoyed it! Had drunken noodles with fried tofu. Great flavor, and really liked the texture and the way they cooked the tofu.
Best pad thai in the world
Best Thai in Omaha with the most hospitable staff.
Great food and friendly, family run business, make this a great place for your takeout, especially during the pandemic. Worth it to walk five minutes there or to drive in and pick-up. Here is to 20 more years in business!
I have never been disappointed at this restaurant. We love the yellow curry and the tom kha
My favorite Thai food in Omaha
Great portions, excellent flavor, and reasonable prices.
Great food for a reasonable price. Fifth time here. Different menu items every time.
Best Thai food I've ever had
Best Thai in Omaha
Always friendly. Love the food. Hard to go wrong with any choice but I especially enjoy the Pad Won Sen.
Our favorite Thai restaurant in Omaha.
Basil Chicken stir fry wasn't great. Pad Thai was fine
outstanding - a rare find in downtown Omaha with a fantastic menu selection, service and food
Happiness all around.
10min COOK
10min HOME
10min GONE
I tried the Red Curry with tofu and it was pretty good. The servings are pretty small compared to other Thai restaurants- and there were very few pieces of tofu. The only reason I’m rating so high is because the flavor of the red curry was extremely good. They really nailed it there. Pretty good overall!
Delicious and delightful date with my love💞. We had the place mostly to ourselves because it was an odd time of day.
It is a tad hard to find.
My favorite Thai place in town. Extremely friendly staff. The food is always delicious. Able to accommodate gluten free dietary needs! I could eat here every day.
I really LOVE their curries, all of them are very good. We drove 100 miles just to have some of their curries. Hubby likes the green , sometimes the red and I enjoy both the green and yellow. Their portions are quite generous and I their service is superb.
It's bangin!
Best pad thai in town!
I do not care too much for their very hot spicy oriental food but I love the owners I've known them forever and you're so kind of nice to me I love their chai tea and the egg rolls and when the owner's wife makes me homemade cream puffs she is the best thank you
Great food and service!!
Great for eat-in and carry-out. Affordable comfort foods and the fried/soft tofu is great. Very few dishes on the menu that I don't love. Staff are polite and friendly.
The panang curry was very good. A well run family business.
The food was great, and the service was decent.
My favourite is Mercy thai ..bankok is 2nd
Great food! Great service! Family owned and operated!
No frills here, but great price and excellent chicken pad thai.
After trying to decide on dinner, my lady and I agreed on Thai, and Bangkok kitchen was our mendl decision. It was one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever had, let alone in Omaha or Nebraska. We even took some to go back home to Lincoln. Will definitely be back, and DEFINITELY recommend!
The food, particularly the curry and crab rangoon is amazing! I'm never disappointed!
Good food. Very nice people.
Great food
All the food was authentic and exceptionally good. Just needs more rice is all.
Ordered the Pad Kua Gai with beef. The food came out very quickly. I ended up ordering a second plate because it was very good but not sufficiently filling (it was the only thing I ordered and I was very hungry). One of my lunch guests ordered a different dish with a much bigger portion that maybe could have been enough. I would definitely go back again and probably get the same dish but also try an appetizer to go with it
Great food!! Love this place:)
Refusing to meet my needs
The Chicken Pad Thai, crab rangoon, fried spring rolls, dipping sauces are absolutely wonderful. I love their Thai tea as well!!! Yes...seconds please!!!
Good food, simple decor. Took awhile to get menus etc. The Thai tea is to die for... could be addictive 😄
I had chicken pad thai. The noodles were thin type. You are asked spice level... 0 - 10. Tasty. My family had Ginger chicken & Sweet and Sour w/ fried tofu. The fresh spring rolls were light & filled with lettuce and veggies. 3 rolls cut in half easy to share. The dipping sauce was a delicious sweet chili type.
Been my go-to for nearly twenty years. Always fresh. Best pad Thai, crab rangoon hands down. You know what? It's impossible to specify... it's ALL good. Go to 19th and Farnam, find the yellow door. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
