My mother and I found this small restaurant in Livingston while driving around looking for a late lunch. I had not found good Thai food for years, so we decided to check it out.
I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken, and my mother ordered the chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce. I also got a Thai iced tea. I must say, we were blown away! We shared the rice and the skewers, and the flavors all danced around together in a delightful ensemble of sweet and savory. My Thai tea was also one of the best I've ever had...the tea was strong enough, but not bitter, and overall, it was sweet enough without being the only part I could taste.
Portions were very satisfactory, and I was able to bring home some rice as leftovers for another meal. The music was a lovely cello/violin/stringed blend, and it was not overly loud, so it added a warm ambience to the experience. We will definitely be back!
Open up for sit. Beautiful atmosphere can't wait to hear your music to sit with. First time with rice noodles and it was great. Glad I didn't stop at tofu soup. Thank you
Amazing! Huge portions. Thankfully we found this place on a Sunday afternoon when most restaurants were closed. We were the only people in the place. No idea why because the food is excellent. It is right off Main Street and offers an open air environment. I highly recommend.
Decided to stop here on a long road trip from Tennessee to Washington. My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE the food. We ordered 4 dishes: Thai Summer Rolls, Combination Fried Rice, Pad Pak, and Pad Thai. Everything was made perfect and to our specifications. We both hate onions and the restaurant made each dish without them as requested! This small town is definitely worth stopping in just for this food alone! Cannot say enough how delicious everything was. 🤤
We placed our order and promptly received our drinks. The server left the rice on the counter and disappeared for quite some time. Took 45 minutes to receive food, rice was cold from not being served correctly. Thai BBQ chicken was dry. AC was put to 62F mid meal. Prices were expensive to dine in and receive cold food, cold atmosphere.
Reading through other recent 1 star reviews seems the issues are reoccurring and on-going.
I will never eat here, EVER again. I wish I could give zero stars because I would.
Reasons :
1.) Horrible service. This place used to be like a regular restaurant and now they are more like a take out place.
2.) Because they are a take out place with inside dinning, they refuse to give you plates, silverware. Everything is in PLASTIC containers and so is your utensils.
3.) Servers acted rude when we asked for real silverware as we could see it on the counter when we did not want to use plastic forks.
4.) Did I mention no service and everything is in plastic ? It’s horrible !!!!!!!!!!
Give your business elsewhere.
What a waste of money.
Food was also gross.
La mejor comida Thai de la zona, excelente sabor
Open up for sit. Beautiful atmosphere can't wait to hear your music to sit with. First time with rice noodles and it was great. Glad I didn't stop at tofu soup. Thank you
BEST FRIED RICE IN AMERICA!🇺🇸
3 orders of Massaumn curry. No flavor, no spice 3/4 level. The worst curry we have had. It also looks curdled.
Great food, great atmosphere, and great service from the staff.
Surprisingly good! Very big portion sizes. We ate so much and still had leftovers. Great Togo food.
Good food in a modest place. They are short employees (like everyone) so you have to order at the counter then they will bring it to the table.

Sleek and beautiful restaurant. We had high hopes after the great experience at their Bozeman location. But this was awful. The only waitress/ receptionist was very rude and cold. She was like irritated by something and made us feel so unwelcomed but had to put up with it as they were the only open restaurant at that time. We have traveled throughout the US and this was the first time we experienced such unprofessional service. Portions were large but tasted bland. Not recommending at all.
It was OK, but not flavorful like most Thai places. I doubt I'd go back.
Inaccurate hours listed. Went on a Sunday because they say they’re open and pull up and people on their smoke break from the restaurant say they are not open.
Okay, we are from Chicago and this is not the thai food I am familiar with. No seasoning whatsoever, lard nar noodles tasted almost like italian fettuccine. They use spaghetti noodles in some dishes. Overall our meals were flavorless, lard nar tasted faintly like chop suey sauce with no seasoning.
I was not impressed with average food, poor service lame atmosphere
I would not eat here again
WAY OVERPRICED.
Two appetizers, two entries, 72.00
We went in one hour before closing time, but were made to feel rushed, like it was closing. The hostess was rather rude and expected us to do a takeout. it didnt get any better after that, the veggie curries and the drunken noodles were just about ok. Most likely frozen veggies were used. The food was plopped in front of us like it was a chore. And then she disappeared forever. We heard loud clanging of dishes from the kitchen, a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. The steamed mussels and iced Thai tea are amazing!
I will definitely eat here again! The food was great! The service was good and food came quick! I would recommend eating here!
Bland food.
Great food
Great service
Can’t stoping going to this place love it!
Excellent food, very clean, vegetarian friendly, big portions.
Great small Thai restaurant. Food was well seasoned but not overly spicy.

Food is ok but customer service is just missing everything. Short question, no smile. And we are the only group of 4 at the place. Why treating us like you hate your job?
Bad service. Waitress don’t care about customers
Horrible and rude front desk lady,
Honestly that front desk lady needs to be more polite and greet the customers with a good energy !
I was with my husband and with a baby !
And lady was damn rude and her tone is in next level, food looks averagely fine !
But Asian lady needs to work on her hospitality instead of tips guides!
Never gonna come back again !
Smile doesn’t cost anything !
Work on it ! Period

Flies, flies, flies. It is basically a garage and they are leaving the garage door open to welcome all flies to live here.
Food was great. I had a beef salad. I'm not sure there was a warning on the menu about how spicy it would be! But I made it through with cucumbers and water. Soft shell crabs were good as well.
Good stuff!
I had the Pad Pak & my husband had a curry entree; we shared fried wontons! Entree presentation was comparable to a “formal restaurant;” All entrees had superb flavor; very fresh with generous portions. Restaurant is clean & outstanding service & prices were very reasonable!! Found this restaurant while going for a walk, close to our Airbnb, one of the best restaurants in the area!!! Don’t miss out on this one!
Amazing food after a long day in Yellowstone, seems like an amazing place, thanks for the food
Excellent!
Amazing customer service and the food was awesome. Got pineapple fried rice and red curry. It was so good :)
I loved going to Rice in Bozeman, and thought it would be just as good in Livingston. Last nights dinner was disgusting! I love the Duck Curry, but all I got was duck and veggies in a bland tomato sauce. The Drunken Noodles where so spicy I couldn't tell what they tasted like. This was to worst meal I've had in years! I wish I had read a few more recent review before ordering food here.
Just really bad. I used to go to rice in Bozeman all the time, and always loved it. So when I saw it in Livingston, I thought I would try. I ordered the fried Wontons and Panang Curry with Chicken (extra Spicy).
I knew it was going to be terrible when I walked in and the only guy in the place was sitting and watching videos on his phone. He looked annoyed that he had to stand up to hand me my food. VERY RUDE. Since he was the only person there, he also clearly had made my food. Based on the appearance and taste, he made it with about as much care as he gave me when I entered the restaurant.
The Wontons were giant puffs of greasy fried bread with nothing in them except a tiny piece of pork that bounced around inside and looked more like pocket lint than anything you would want to eat.
The curry (I wouldn't call this Panang Curry, as that would be insulting to Thailand) was essentially a splash of coconut milk, water, and way to much chili oil. Absolutely very watery, no flavor, and incredibly spicy. I love spicy, so thats whatever, but I want it to come with some flavor (preferably the one I ordered).
My honest opinion is that the person that was working tonight hates what they do. This food is not just uninspired, it is lazy. I imagine that at one point he might have been a good cook, but he doesnt care at all anymore. He just wants his shift to be over, and the food reflects that.
I dont think that anything I ordered was unsafe to eat, but it was an insult to Thai food.
BEST MEAL OUT IN AGES!!!! Not sure about prior reviews, maybe still in covid precautions?? We decided to stop at Rice last night and were the only eat in customers for quite a while. There was just 1 person working the entire restaurant alone and while you look at the menu and order at the register that was the only difference we saw. We had real plates and silverware. The service was awesome even though he was alone and had take out orders. We ordered 2 appetizers, pineapple rice, Pad Pak and duck curry and the food was presented beautifully like you would expect in a fancy restaurant and the flavors were amazing. It was something you wanted to savor every bite. We never order desert out but last night tried their mango sticky rice and black rice pudding and it was HEAVEN. I don't know what is in black rice pudding but OH MY was it ever good. The mango was fresh and flavorful. This is somewhere we will come again and bring friends.
One guy one the floor and kitchen running all like a boss :) food is goood
Friday night and it was just one guy working. He was a machine. Cooking, waiting tables, and doing Togo orders. Food was great but guy was absolutely top shelf.
Delicious food. Great service with a smile. This wonderful restaurant is great for lunchtime. Clean and comfortable seating. Really enjoyed my lunch!
We came for lunch and weren't allowed to dine in.
It's good food and very healthy. I love going here.
Delicious beef pad thai and the gal behind the counter and serving it was very kind.
This is such a cute restaurant, and has amazing food from noodles to curries. Highly recommended for a bite to eat!
Exquisite food at a good price. Fast and friendly service.
Nice people and great food
Was passing threw Very good food definitely one of my favorite 😋
Great food. Horrible website design. I ordered takeout using Google maps. I ended up ordering food in a different town, apparently they have multiple locations. When I went to pick up my food they told me I had to pay for it again. Needless to say I lost my money. Like any other restaurant chain out there the first choice should be the closest to you. Seems like they chose a disclaimer over a better website design.
We were visiting from Arizona and decided to explore some of the small but quaint Montana towns. Livingston was a great surprise and they were about to celebrate the 4th of July. The streets were lined with flags and the town was in a festive mood. We had asked several shop owners were to eat lunch. Rice Fine Thai cuisine’s name popped up several times.
The restaurant was small and very clean. We ordered the red curry, spring rolls and Pad Thai. The meal was hot and full of flavor. The spring rolls were delivered piping hot and oily. The The pad Thai was perfect and had just the perfect amount of bite. It was some of the best pad Thai I’ve ever had. The red curry was flavorful but rather runny.
Our only hesitation from a 5 stars was the watery broth of the red curry.
Very tasty
This was the sevond time we have eaten there. Great food!
Neat little place I never knew was there until I walked by the door. Friendly service, reasonable prices. The Pad Thai was about average, but good for Livingston.
THE best Thai food in the Livingston/Bozeman area. it is consistently good. The sauces are never watered down like some of the Thai places around town, the spices are perfection.. I’ve never had a bad dish from here. Even our toddler and 3 year old get excited to order Thai food. The pad see ew is delicious, sweet and savory.. the green curry is top notch. I love the massamun curry (I add broccoli).
Overall, my favorite carryout from Livingston. Ten stars out of five! I’d add a photo, but I ate it up so fast that there is nothing to snap a pic of. I even ate the rice that was drenched in sauce, just because the sauce was that good. Yum. Absolute yum.
We needed a yummy meal for our overnight in Livingston. This was great! They were an hour from closing but served us hot fresh food in an adorable restaurant. Thanks!
I will never NOT come here, this place is the BOMB!!!
The service is always great, food is always amazing and the restaurant itself is always clean and beautiful. If you are in the mood for great Thai food, look no further! Worth the price + a must go in Livingston. Love it!!!
I will never eat here, EVER again. I wish I could give zero stars because I would.

We have eaten at RICE since they opened. And I have now said, "that is the LAST time we are EVER eating there again!" at least 6 times:(((((
Progressively, the quality of the food has dwindled.
(The noodles /rice are hard and unusually greasy, and the broccoli is charred, EVERY TIME = NASTY!!!)
The quality of service has always been LACKING, to say the least.
I guess I am just desperate for decent Thai in Bozeman, and this place is closest to our home, so by default, whenever I'm at my limit and need to order takeout, I relent, and give them another try...
Anyhow, I always order "NO ONIONS< ALLERGY!""
and, I always get onions.
Every freaking time, I wait til I get home to find out.
I always hope for the best, and I get home, and cry.
Not because I can't eat it, because I ONLY have this to present to my husband and daughter, who can't have onions. Come on.
Then, no answer by phone, for refund, no customer service.
I have had to dispute my bank charges from Rice 4 times now,
due to the same issue : no one offering any consolation or even a response.
And Every time, our order has totaled over $84 and I have left a 25% tip.... FOR TAKEOUT! LAME-O!!!!!
NEVER AGAIN!
LESSONS:
+++don't order takeout from RICE if you can help- it, it's super greasy, and once it's chilled for the first time, there's no bringing it back to anything palatable!
+++If you have ay life-threatening allergies, AVOID RICE FINE THAI CUISINE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!
+++Check any to-go orders thoroughly before you leave! Once you leave the premises, there is NO RECOURSE/ CUSTOMER SERVICE!
This place is a nice little hidden gem. Stopped here on the way to Billings and ordered lunch to go. I had the Thai fried rice and my wife had the Tom Jued soup. They were both really good. The portions were very generous with lots of meat. They had a lot of gluten free options as well.
We ordered several items for take out and were impressed with all of it. The short rib massaman curry was especially good as The meat was so tender. To have such authentic Thai flavors in a small town like Livingston was a surprise and a real treat! Spice levels are adjusted for western palates, so if you like spicy foods, I would recommend extra spicy or Thai spicy. So grateful to have this option in our town, thank you!
Our experience yesterday at the Livingston location. We were so excited to find out they have reopened after a short closing so we ordered take out of 2 Pad Thai with chicken and 1 chicken drunken noodle for dinner. I made sure to ask for the noodles not to be overcooked. In my experience it’s a hit and miss and the last time we asked, the noodles were cooked just right, still slightly chewy which how they are supposed to be. Anyway, yesterday was a disappointment. The portions of all 3 dishes were great, flavor is good but the noodles were overcooked in all 3, especially the drunken noodles. They were too broken up. And there wasn’t much chicken like before. I had high hopes but was really let down. Please make sure you cook the noodles correctly. It’s a simple thing but it can make or easily ruin the whole dish! I had run into this issue at all 3 locations.😕
Nice softshell crab and salads. Roller door for great airflow and atmosphere. A bit hard to find, but worth the search!
Great meal.
Very fresh!!! Great food! Definitely go there!
Great Thai Food.
Passing through Livingston, tried this place. We had summer rolls, Thai fried rice, and pad med ma-muang. Delicious!
Really good food
Delicious!! I recommend the awesome crispy rolls.
Absolutely amazing. My family loved it. If you want some kickass food and have some cash to throw around this is the place.
Good food!
When I am in the mood for Thai my family loves going to rice. Great food and friendly service. We use to have to travel to Bozeman to enjoy and are glad they came to Livingston. Many vegan options!
Very good food, true thai spice, quick service.
Excellent service and food!
Their larb gai is so good I could cry! Friendly service and a low-key, clean atmosphere. Great for dine in or take out.
The food was amazing! and even though we couldn't sit down and eat and we had it ordered takeout it was still delicious! Their Thai iced coffee is one of my favorite coffees in the world! If I lived in Livingston Montana I would come back regularly.
We spent a week and a half in Livingston and did not expect to get such good Thai food. The food was so good we had to eat here twice in the short time we were here. The first time we order everything with just a normal spice since it was for the whole family and it was nicely flavored. The second time I had to try the extra spicy and it had a great flavor and spice, consistent with my travels to Thailand and Asia.
Of course they were only open for take away but the dining space looked inviting. I wish we could have eaten there.
As in any small town, the scope of international cuisine is naturally limited. So while I’m sure Livingston is thrilled that the diner’s palate can now add some Thai food to its roster, customer service still counts for something, at least in my book.
Mind you this experience occurred when most places were closed for dining in due to COVID and I’m very aware of the devastating impact this has had on the restaurant industry. That aside, the faux pas they made in order to save them a few bucks cost them a customer. We placed a take out order. The order with a tip was $75.00. The order was brought out to the car by an employee who had placed its contents on their side, causing the soup in the order to leak and soak the contents on the rest of the order. The rest of the food was literally swimming in broth. We called the restaurant and explained how we found our food (and because it was not cheap and could not be remedied) asked them to please remake the order. We were asked to bring the original order back, which we did. We then proceeded to wait an inordinate amount of time for its replacement. Once home again, we realized the order had not been remade but simply transferred to new containers. It is extremely rare that I will return food or ask for it to be remade. I worked in the restaurant industry for a decade and am sensitive to the myriad of difficulties businesses face when dealing with the public and the stresses of running of profitable restaurant. In this instance, I felt completely justified requesting that the food be remade and was completely flabbergasted at their blatant subterfuge. We will not return and sadly I can no longer recommend Rice Thai in Livingston MT.
The food is fine but the service is so bad it's hard to trust them making your food!
Such wonderful food and the atmosphere is incredible! A fun place for thai lovers and a great place for date night as well.
Authentic
The space is clean and the food was good, however, I would caution that the service needs work. There were only two other tables and it took almost 40 minutes to get food. I would say that take-out orders are prioritized and that’s fine, but it was an odd experience considering the cost of each dish. Maybe the kinks just need to be hammered out.
Spring rolls are excellent, drunken noodles is great, most curry dishes are great, but the curry soup with egg plant was not the best, weird flavor... The peanut sauce is great, a little spicy. Crispy spring rolls were excellent, cashew chicken is great too. Try the tea, it's fabulous.
Great food. Seating is a little tight, however.
Eat here weekly. If you love spicy food, get the Pad Kra Prao with shrimp and ask for Thai spicy! Enjoy the open garage seating in the summertime! Fast friendly service.
Delicious!
Amazing food
The food was really good, but the wonton soup I had was not worth the $10. It had 4 small wontons and cabbage. The menu description said it had vegetables. Hum. I did ask for it to have cabbage. I wonder if they thought I wanted only cabbage? I was disappointed it wasn't loaded with many different veggies. My husband's curry was excellent, but there again, for the price there should have been leftovers.
Awsome place and very nicely decorated! The thai food was great for a place in Montana!! Best food i have ever eaten. 👍🏼
Good food, bad staff. Messed my take out order up after waiting closer to an hour than “20 minutes”. Got home totally wrong order other than the soup. Called to have them make it right and the kid on the phone was a total punk that wanted to argue rather then just make it right
Great place to eat. Love the open garage door! Highly recommend the pineapple fried rice if you don't want or like spicy food.
BEST and I do mean best Thai food I've ever eaten! I had fried Tofu as an appetizer, delicious. Pad Thai with shrimp was next up...the flavor was spot on, the noodles were perfection and the shrimp quite tasty. Served with a lime slice...and dang if that didn't push this dish over the top for me. A little pricey, but when food tastes as good as this, I'd even pay more. Shout out to my server, Randall, the service was excellent! Highly recommend!!!
We eat here weekly.
The food is amazing! This is some of the best Thai food I’ve had.
Great thai food, got food to go and ate at the park across the street
