Glad to find a really good drive through place. The red curry was a bit soupy but the shrimp was good, as were the freshly cooked vegetables. The portion justified the amount it cost. Healthier option than most drive through. I’ll be returning.
Really good. I've had lots of cashew chicken and theirs is currently the best in Springfield. We got Thai basil stir fry and mango curry too last night and we were pleased. It was fresh and full of flavor. It is a little pricey and the average Joe probably wouldn't take their family there on a regular basis just on price. But its a great date.
One of my favorite places. Have not had a bad meal here. My favorite is the Thai Basil fried rice with chicken
Love the freely offered chicken soup with rice and fruit flavored water. Friendly service. Basic atmosphere but that is all that's needed
Excellent food and good pricing for the portion size they give you. We had the 2 for $30 which comes with 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The drunken noodles, cashew chicken, and pot stickers were all great. They also have chicken and rice soup for anyone to enjoy while waiting for your food. It is mostly broth and had a good flavor. I liked the spices and oil on the table so you can control how much heat to add to your meal. Will definitely be back!
Update: spring rolls were barely warm and seemed not fresh, same with the cashew chicken, it just had hot gravy poured over it. Lots of small pieces that weren't even chicken but fried coating. I think I just got scraps. I want to like this place but quality is lacking.
Food was good but our spring rolls were cold in the middle. Service was great. Floors were very sticky. We will try again.
The cashew chicken and fried rice were pretty good. They had soup out by the water, and you could grab more whenever you wanted. The cucumbers that came with the fried rice were so good, I had to buy more. They were crisp, delicious, and easily the best part of the meal there.
Ordered several dishes and they were all disappointing. They were exceptionally sweet . Crab Rangoon was even extremely sweet and tasted only of cream cheese. Worst pad Thai, no spice , way too sweet. Fried rice just had the slightest bit of egg and nothing else . Very disappointed 😞
Every thing ordered was very sweet. Pad Thai had a strange flavor and nothing like any I've had before. Will not be going back.
The food and the staff are equally amazing. The food is always fresh. Drive thru or sit down options. It's worth a visit! Family friendly.

Solid quick Thai food
Great food and good portions at good prices. You can tell that the owners and employees enjoy their work. Christian is always pleasant and helpful and makes you want to explore the various menu items.
Fried rice okay, orange chicken nuggets were overcooked and tough, orange sauce was not orange but brown and didn't taste like orange sauce, possibly overcooked as well.
Asked for extra sauce( peanut) for my spring rolls wanted to charge me 2.50 I just wanted a little extra for dipping always run out of sauce they made such a big deal about the extra sauce
I won’t ever go back
Crazy…. Rude!
Great food. Always go thru drive thru because it's close to home
Great food and great service! Love the soup when you dine in!
Very good food
Food was good but basic, no Thai basil very little spice no galanga taste. Service was good but not offered any drink refills even though plenty of staff around.

The food is always good.
We Love Thai Express!! We eat there weekly! Ask my any questions you might have about our experience!
Food was good the service seemed rushed but they were busy
Excellent Thai food place. Glad it is so close to my home.
Patrick is always so friendly and the food is always amazing!
We both ordered the drunken noodles, portions were huge. Food is excellent. I ordered thai spicy, it has a nice spice but does not over power the flavor. Highly recommend.
The food was really good at a great price.
Place is legit awesome. First time dining here. Super friendly service. Food was incredibly fast and fresh. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food!! Friendly staff
Excellent!!
Bad service. Mediocre food.
Sad night. Asked for some spice on my Pad Thai and I need to drink a gallon of milk. No sauce, no peanuts, no scallions just bright red dry spicy noodles and literally only 4 slices of chicken that drench me in sweat. Spring rolls are old shrimp and shredded lettuce with no real flavor. Used to love this place but not anymore. 40 bucks dumped in the trash. Crab ragoon was still delicious.
Taste was good. The quantity was good. The quality was good. Price is the same as others.
I’ve known this family and have been enjoying their authentic Thai food for 25+ years. Everything I’ve had is great but I personally recommend the Bangkok Boom with chicken dish and also the Massaman curry dish (very similar to Paenang curry) if you’ve never tried this style of curry, please do, I cannot recommend it enough!!
Thai Express is super delicious food.
When I went for lunch, Zoe worked the front. She’s so cheerful and friendly. Her excellent customer service elevated the experience.
Don't go here if you actually like Thai food. The red curry tasted like the milk leftover from a bowl of fruit loops poured over some meat and veggies. No flavor aside from sickly sweet. Served barely warm. Rice was dry. Spring rolls were just shrimp and old lettuce. General chicken, again, too sweet, no other flavors. The meal was inedible.
Basically, it’s like various sauces mixed with chicken nuggets.
Normally, in Thai restaurants we frequent, the chicken is not breaded and fried, but rather mixed in the wok with all of the other flavors, veggies, cashews, etc. and that’s seems more authentic and definitely what we prefer.
The help yourself counter with water and soup was unique. I recommend stirring the soup and digging deep to get the rice rather than just broth.
We may return sometime if we’re in the area, but would be much wiser with what we chose to order/eat.
Flavorless & expensive.
I ate here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and I cannot stop thinking about it. The self serve section with the chicken and rice soup was such a wonderful touch. The soup is perfectly seasoned and so delicious. The red curry was amazing. Excellent prices as well. Lunch combo ran me $11 and some change. What a bargain! I will be back soon to satisfy my cravings.
Got the drunken noodles with chicken for pick up. Good portion with variety of vegetables. I am used to having more vegetables/chicken in my drunken noodles but it still was a decent ratio. Got the spicy and I would say if you like spice you can definitely go up as the spicy was more subtle. The drunken noodle here has a sweet flavor which I am not used to and do not personally prefer.
Restaurant seemed clean and service was good.
The best Thai food in Springfield Missouri. Wonderful welcoming staff. Some of the best homemade craft hot sauce on the planet I would definitely recommend this place to anybody that is a connoisseur of great food. Thai Express definitely gets a double thumbs up from me.
Fantastic Praise God for all of Eternity!!!❤️🔥👑🪽
Wow was I extremely unimpressed. I ordered the Phad Thai chicken. Very dry not much sauce. Chicken was over cooked. This place is most definitely not Everyday Thai.
Great food 90% of the time. Occasionally there are some misses but this is my favorite Thai place in Springfield. Service is great
Best cashew chicken in Springfield
Portion size was cut after price decrease! Large is looking alittle on the medium size. But food is still so yummy!!
Seemed a little pricey but food was delicious and place was clean
Beautiful small place with super friendly staff and great food!
This is a favorite spot of mine!!!
The store is always immaculate, the service is friendly, as well as prompt. The chicken and rice soup comforts the soul. It is a truly wonderful experience!
The food is AMAZING and FRESH...I know you will love it as much as I do.
Love the Pineapple and Hawaiian Fries Rice legacy dishes! Good place.
Food is decent, portions are small for the price
I really wanted this to be good, but it is average at best.
The cashew chicken and fried rice were pretty good. They had soup out by the water, and you could grab more whenever you wanted. The cucumbers that came with the fried rice were so good, I had to buy more. They were crisp, delicious, and easily the best part of the meal there.
The entire place smells awful, hard to explain. Be doing deliveries here for awhile and every time I walk through the doors I have to hold my breath and breathe sparingly.
Food is WAY over priced and when you ask for "no spice" they give you extremely spicy food that you can't eat. An all around terrible experience.
Have a great cashew chicken and nice bowl size for just 5 bucks . Hot and excellent service will definitely be back
The friendliest man with colorful hair greeted us as we went in. He took our order and was delightful. The service was great. The soup was very flavorful. The food came out quickly and was delicious and plentiful. The spicy option is actually spicy, it was wonderful! Definitely going back
Really enjoyed this place. Great flavored water with fresh fruit for free. White meat chicken. Clean modern interior. Try it!
Love this place!!
Updated: The owner reached out to discuss the issue with me, offered to rectify it, and spoke with his staff about customer service, in addition their prices came down recently, so great moves all around. Glad to see they take genuine feedback seriously, and improve based on it.
My previous review**They don’t honor advertisements they put on their own website. The food is okay, but a bit overpriced for what You get.**
Food and service is great. We really enjoyed our meal.
Thai Express is absolutely my favorite restaurant. So many delicious things to try and they have great staff. My favorite dishes are the red curry, Magic noodles, Massaman, and peanut chicken. Their crab rangoon are deliciously stuffed with cream cheese and come with the most amazing dipping sauce. Husband loves the Bangkok boom and kids love the cashew chicken. The chicken and rice soup and the infused waters are an awesome touch that we also enjoy when dining in. Dining room is simple and clean.
It was just ok. It had a really fast food feel to it and the food was just so so. They did include a rice soup(self-serve) with your order that tasted homemade.
I had the General’s Chicken. The quality of the chicken was good but the sauce was very bad.
I used to eat here with my girlfriend for a few years until the new owner decided to do an illegal "cash discount" scheme" a while ago where they charged you a fee for using a card but only informed you of this when you got to the window to pay. My girlfriend was craving Thai and our local place doesn't deliver so we decided to give this place a try again. I had a Drunken Noodle medium spice and she had a Pad Thai. Her Pad Thai was actually disgusting and seemed old, neither of us could eat it and I never waste food. My Drunken Noodle had no spice except for a few bites which were extremely hot. I love very hot ethnic food, but a lot of people wouldn't be able to handle that at all for what "medium" spice would be. That tells me that their food prep is making the same sauce for each item and adding the "heat" element without actually stirring it in evenly. She didn't eat her food, but I did and my stomach has been upset for about 15 hours now. They seem to have really gone down in quality as compared to the previous owner.
If you have never eaten here you must! The food is exquisite and reasonably priced. When my grandson and I eat here we always get the red curry chicken it is so delicious we're afraid to change. I'm sure all the other dishes are amazing as well
The Thai Chili Stir Fry has incredible flavors. The crispy spring rolls are divine.
They had some of the most friendly staff I have ever met. The food was also reasonably priced and tasted very good in my opinion. My friend and I got the lunch special which only costed a little less than $12 after tax.
Love the $5 cashew cup! Such great food at a price we can afford to have a treat midweek.
Spring rolls very good. Noodles were OK, not fabulous, but fresh. Good portions. Enjoyed the sauces avail on tableside.
Why is it more expensive to order take out than to eat in? The pad Thai is $15.95 ordering online on their website to pick up and at the drive thru it’s 13.95. And you can’t even call to order in you just have to place an order online.
I love the $5 cashew cup. It's perfect if you enjoy just the chicken and gravy. I didn't go in so I'm not sure of the atmosphere. The guy in the drive through was pleasant.
Absolutely love Thai Express. Went today and had the Thai Basil stir fry with chicken. Delicious lower carb option. Staff was amazing, especially Jessica and Christian, in helping me find a lower carb dish. 10 out of 10!!
Good
As a long-time patron of Thai Express, I can undoubtedly say they have the best Thai/Asian cuisine in Springfield! Service is spectacular, the owners are amazing, and their food is delicious.
Great food and friendly service.
I wish they offered real soy sauce instead of the packaged soy sauce which has no flavor
The employee at the front was so helpful and kind. He knew exactly how to help without us even asking. I’m giving 5 stars simply for the customer service!
Their $5 cashew is an awesome deal, does not come with rice though. If you dine in you get the soup too. Crab rangoons were tasty and potstickers with the sauce was great. Will dine here again.
$17.50 for a single order of drunken noodles at lunch will get you some of the worst Thai food Springfield has to offer. The tofu was bland and basically straight out of the package, the sauce tasted like plain soy sauce, sugar, and pepper, and nothing had a char from cooking in a wok. It felt like an elevated microwave dinner meal. I can honestly say this is some of the worst Thai food I’ve ordered while at the same time being the most expensive. I even tried this dish twice to make sure it wasn’t a one time issue because I didn’t want to leave an undeserved review. Pretty disappointing considering the price.
Very good food, we will definitely be back 😋
Hands down best red Thai tea and drunken noodles around
Great service food was great quiet atmosphere
Every time we eat at Thai Express we are beyond pleased. Every dish is freshly prepared and large portion sizes. We always get their curries and noodle dishes. They are full of flavor and quality ingredients. The staff are fantastic! Always friendly and kind. I think the owners father might even work there? One older gentleman always waits on us inside the store, and he is truly the kindest man, who genuinely wants to help. Last night we ordered using their new app platform. It was fantastic! First, it amazes me that we can feed our family of 4 plus leftovers for another entire meal, for the price of greasy burgers and fries. 2nd- The app makes it so fast! Ordered and walked in to pick up our food in less than 15 min total, from sitting on the couch to walking out of the restaurant with our food. During rush hour on a Friday night! Noticed lots of cars in the drive through who surely waited a lot longer. Use the app!! Thanks Patrick for producing such delicious and filling food, for an affordable price!
Food was wonderful!!
Liked it better when they were on glenstone. They lost the atmosphere.
Best Tai food in town. Peanut chicken and mango curry are both amazing!
Have tried many dishes, haven't been disappointed yet!
Best crab rangoons.
Wow! Amazing food! Even my somewhat picky kids love it! A little pricey but definitely worth it. We come here often. I highly recommend it.
Really good food, prepared pretty quick.
Downside, prices a really high, meal for 3 , around 80.00
I eat at this place often because I work nearby. The food just never lets me down. And the main guy there is super cool and friendly.
I love the Bangkok chicken and the Mango curry the most. But also really love their crab Rangoon (especially the sweet sauce it comes with) and the free chicken rice soup you get when you go at lunch. I could eat here every week and never tire of it.
Always been my favorite thai restaurant in springfield
Server was amazing, super friendly. Spring rolls are stuffed with cheap lettuce, the magic noodles had the weirdest flavor I’ve ever tasted in any curry dish. It was so sweet and delicious extremely thin with huge chunks of raw vegetables. Super odd. $22 is way too much for the low quality. Rama Thai is much better
ajzbaa
$12+ for a very small portion of cashew chicken, and plain white, super sticky, overcooked rice? That's it. No eggroll. No drink. Should have learned my lesson when I got the very small, overpriced, mediocre drunken noodles a year ago. Thought I would give them another chance. I will not be back.
This location always seem to be very staffed unlike a lot of other locations in town so they get you in and out quickly and they do a great job keep up the good work 💯
The only complaint this place should EVER get is that there's only one location.
Drunken noodles before the Japanes Fall festival!
Me and my family have been coming here for years (since before they opened at the new location). The food has always been great. Sadly, on my most recent visit the food I got was inedible. The Pad Thai had a weird taste, almost sour or burnt, and the noodles weren’t soft. In the past, the Pad Thai has always been top tier. This time I wasn’t even able to eat my food and it’s currently sitting in my fridge wasting space. I might have to find a new place to get Thai from.
The only reason I’m leaving 2 stars is because of past experiences and the nice people working the register.
We enjoyed our first time experience.
Foods here are in new combinations for us, it will be fun to try unfamiliar dishes.
Food was amazing as always!
Noodles were quite chewy, idk if old or undercooked?? Veggies were fresh, sauces were good enough. Prices seem reasonable. Would try again but not sold on the place at this point.
Drunken Noodle(funky noodle, tough)
Thai Basil
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant in 417. Love their new location closer to where I live, but worth the drive regardless!
The prices went from like $11.00 to over $15.00 for what I usually get. 36% increase in price is really steep. I started coming here because it was a better value than Everyday Thai. Now they're almost as expensive. I'm just cooking my Thai food at home more now.
It is one of the best Thai restaurants in Springfield are food is always delicious 😋
Too greasy. We have purchased our Thai faves on three occasions. We've decided it's just not worth the cost. All our other Thai restaurants in town are better.
Favorite Thai in Springfield. Really good Springfield cashew chicken too!
10/10 customer service always. Chicken drunken noodles and the spring rolls are my go-to. So yummy. Always have left overs and I also appreciate their packaging that we reuse for food prep! The also tend to run deals and promotions which is great!!
Food comes out fast and is amazing. So happy to see them get a new location in a better area. One of my go-to restaurants in town for good reason. Royal chicken is so so good!
We come here at least once a week and try to get something new every time. We haven’t been disappointed yet. Some of our favorites are the mango chicken delight, royal chicken, cashew chicken, and Thai basil stir fry.
This was my third trip in but my dad’s first visit. When he travels around the Midwest for farm shows he’s always mentioning different Thai restaurants he likes. He came in town for a long weekend visit and I took the opportunity to take him to my favorite Springfield Thai restaurant. I had resolved to ordering something different this time but couldn’t bring myself to order anything but the drunken noodles once I got to the register. Of course we had to order some crab rangoon (2 orders for the 3 of us). Hubby got the green curry and Dad ordered chicken pad thai. 2 thumbs up from dad!! He declared it the best crab rangoon and pad thai that he’s eaten to date! I think I know where he’ll request to eat on any future visits!
We did not like the pad Thai
They always package everything with care when you get take-out! I have loved everything I've tried here so far, but I highly recommend the curry 👌
Amazing food! Stopped here while visiting family. We shared the crab rangoons, Mango Fried Rice, Pad Thai and Bangkok Chicken. The rangoons were excellent and some of the best I’ve eaten. The Pad Thai was good but was the weakest of the 3 entrees because the Mango Fried Rice and Bangkok Chicken were unbelievably good.
Will definitely come back and highly recommended!!!
Food tastes great, but sad the prices went up too high for me to keep coming back. Pad Thai used to be a good $10 to $11, but now it's around $15.
Definitely some of my favorite crab Rangoon and egg rolls in Springfield. Lots of other good things on the menu, but those are standouts to me. Friendly staff, quick service, hot food. Every time.
The people were amazing and the food was just as amazing!!! Can't wait to go again!!!!
I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and it was the driest pad thai I have ever eaten. Very little chicken and really nothing but dry noodles. It was NOT good at all. With the dry pad thai and an order of spring rolls coming in at $20, I will not be back.
Love this place! An absolute gem.
Everything I've tried here is really good. It is one of my go-to restaurants when I'm visiting Springfield. ❤️❤️❤️
Probably the worst meal I've had in a long time. I stopped in through the drive-thru for lunch. I got the Thai Connection. I thought it was going to be just chicken. It came with shrimp and beef, too. I think the shrimp were bad. It had a bad smell. I took a few bites and tossed it out. Super small portion for the $15 bucks I paid for it. The egg roll o had to add on wasn't good either. I'll try a different Thai place next time.
1st time, not really impressed. Overpriced, probably won't go back.
Had the Chicken Drunken noodle an it was really really good and the crab Rangoon was perfect
Used to be my favorite place to eat. Then they changed owners, relocated, changed the menu, and changed the vibe. Now it's just loud and obnoxious with the music bumping, the food is boring, and the service is impersonal. The owner is such a good guy I wish I could say something good about the place, but I just can't. Says "Thai Express" on the sign, but it's not Thai Express anymore.
It's a bit expensive compared to panda in Asian fusion which also has Thai food. But the food is good. They do have Thai green tea and panda in does not. But panda inns food is way cheaper and food is better. But some things they don't have at panda in that hurry have here so I go to both. The food is very good here though. The Thai salad here is absolutely amazing though.
Super good ! I honestly loved it so much! I am the pickiest eater I swear! Everything was hot and tasted so delicious and fresh! The people at the register are super nice and patient!! They have some free rice soup as appetizers with some flavored waters in the corner to choose from! I got the $11 sweet and sour chicken lunch special came with 2 crab rangoons and some rice and it was amazing!
Ps. They sell pepsi products!
Finally got to eat there and it was as good as I imagined it would be.
