Informal, strip-mall restaurant offering curries, rice dishes & other Thai meals in a chill setting.
This is my second time visiting Thai Spice. I really like the relaxing atmosphere in their dining room. They play lounge music for your dining pleasure. My waiter was attentive to my needs and gave me excellent service. My order was served promptly and the temperature was hot. I had ordered my plate spicy hot which gave me the heat but not the burn. The pork fried rice was expertly spiced and favorable. Thai Spice has a mini bar for those who may want an alcoholic beverage with their meal.

Had dinner tonight.
Ordered the Korean BBQ pork and fried rice. Got the appetizer.
Everything was fine.
Was weird that we got our dinner but had to wait on the rice. The. The rice tastes kinda burned? But after putting on sauce it was ok.
The fried burnt rice is weird.
Also didn't know the fried rice is extra. Like extra $4?
Wife claim's they have the best crab Rangoon so far she's had.
Price for two people. $60
I may go back eventually.
On this side of town on a cold day. First time visit.
FOOD 5⭐️
I ordered something to warm me up... green curry, with chicken, and medium heat. It came out and looked fantastic. I hadn't read the menu... so I was surprised to see a couple of crab rangoons (which were tasty and had a bit of sweetness to them)
The soup was sooo delicious with more and wider variety veggies including zucchini, mushrooms, and green beans. Veggies were cooked perfectly.
SERVICE 5⭐️
The service was very friendly and attentive.
ATMOSPHERE 4⭐️
Little mom and pop place. Hodge-podge decor and sound not really jiving for me. Football was on 2 TVs and jazzy-cool piano music was playing.. but seemed like it should be in a coffee shop. Anyways.... not really the best vibe for me... but I'm here for the food. Ha!!
I will definitely be recommending and coming by again.
I've had a lot of different Thai food around the KC metro, and this place has the best food to me. Everything is seasoned SO well and prepared with intention. Friendly staff and great portion sizes. Couldn't recommend enough!
Food was amazing! I had the yellow Curry at spice level 3. It was good, not super hot, but a good bite. Only complaint is the carrots were cut huge and thick. Almost too big for one bite and since they were so thick they were still pretty crunchy almost raw. Otherwise very good!
I came alone for a nice lunch. Couldn't decide what tasty dish to try so I got 2. Plenty of food in each portion. I loved the waterfall beef Salad so much I ate it all and had to bad the other option also so delicious the Korean chicken bites. Not mad. At all because I can enjoy later at home for certain . Also really delicious Thai tea. Definitely on my top Thai food spots so far
Amazing flavors! Everyone in my family loved what they had. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very authentic.
One of my favorite places in the KC area. Nice and quiet atmosphere with good, quick, fresh food. Thai hot spice level is the way to go. Excellent and friendly service.

Hands down the best Thai food in KC! Probably our favorite restaurant overall in KC, too. We've tried several different dishes and they've all been delicious! The Thai Spice Fried Rice, Cashew Dish, and Drunken Noodles are our favorites, but you really can't go wrong! They're also very consistent in their spice level, which is great. Can't recommend this place enough!
this place is amazing! from the atmosphere to the food
the service was quick and friendly and the menu had a large variety of different dishes
Menu states 4 JUMBO wings, they were small wings if anything for $9! Vegetable options in noodle dishes were very limited and didn't match menu photos or description.
Overall food was good just disappointed in the wings they finally brought back.

The food is ALWAYS delicious! I get the massaman and I always look forward to the next time I can eat here
Everything about this restaurant is amazing the food the service and the ice cream ❤️

Good option for Thai in Kansas City. Friendly & professional staff. Also enjoyed the old school lounge music in the background.
Their portions are getting smaller and smaller and are raising their prices which is normal now everything is more expensive but their portions are getting smaller

Great food always consistent love the service and not a long wait time.
As a family restaurant owner, I love coming to small places like this that make me feel welcomed and appreciated. Service was top notched!! Now let’s talk about the food; it is so delicious!! This place should be 5 star place! Portions are generous, with enough protein unlike many other Thai restaurants I’ve been at. Completely pleased and will be a returning customer.
Staff was incredibly nice. The food was great. We are still batting 100% on Asian food stops in strip malls
Would certainly suggest this to anyone looking for great Korean and thi food.
Thier spicy means spicy! But it was not in your face spicy, it tastes great and the heat does not last that long, at least with the spicy korean pork.
Firstly, before we ordered our food, the server was so effervescent and polite and engaging that I knew I was going to give 5 stars. The restaurant is in a strip mall, and it feels like a truly "mom and pop" shop
We ordered the Korean chicken wings as an appetizer, which were so delicious, I wish I had ordered the meal version. Instead, I got the beef bulgogi with fried rice. It comes with steamed rice, but you pay a little more for the fried rice. So so worth it! My husband ordered the spicy BBQ pork and steamed rice, and it was spicy but not so bad it burned your mouth instantly. It was a delicious inviting spice that keeps you going back for more because it was so delicious.
HIGHLY recommend, we will be going back next time we are in town.
Very over priced for the quality/amount of food you get.
Very nice
Prices are a bit high. I very much enjoy the red curry.
Disappointed beyond belief when I get home to see the $20 crab fried rice I ordered is just regular fried rice with a little crab thrown on top, literally thrown on top. I will not be back here and understand why there’s never anyone here. Save your money.
Can’t ever go wrong choosing this place. Food always comes out fresh, takes amazing Every. Single. Time. Just a little hole in the wall with a few tables & booths inside, but it’s a GEM.
Amazing food! I got the Honeymoon chicken and my wife got the soy sauce noodles. It was awesome. We are from out of town and I'm glad we stopped in.
Food is delicious
Tasted like garbage
I picked up Thai Fried Rice, crab ragoon and calamari last Friday. An hour later I was throwing up and in the bathroom with food poisoning. $32 down. I will definitely not try them again.
Wonderful food and service!
Ordered Crab Rangoon expecting a little bit of crab nothing but cream cheese! To bad wont order again
Came to get dinner on Saturday a little busy but has really good food and the service from Edward was very good.
Good Food

The food here is so freakin delicious. We've eaten there and ordered out and it's phenomenal either way. I, personally, love the atmosphere. Very simple and chill and the staff is so kind and friendly. This place is a staple for sure!
Beautiful space with excellent food and polite service. Will return.
Good fresh food quick service i will be dinning here again and recommend giving it a try its about as authentic one can get.
Best thai food in KC at the moment! I had the thai spice fried rice, wife had the curry and we had many crab rangoons. Great food! Keep it up!
Dude, never heard of this place and what a gem, service was great, awesome atmosphere, food was fast and hot and amazingly delicious, I don't rate places often but this one aces it
First time coming here, I am blown away with how amazingly delicious & different their food tastes!! I am beyond satisfied! I will be a regular returning customer!
Once we got the spice wheel, all was perfect. My wife and I met a friend there for dinner and really thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely go back. We live in an area where the most popular Thai place is relatively trendy, pricey, but, like, it's...fine. But Thai Spice is in a strip mall in the burbs, almost a hole in the wall. And those are some of our favorite types of places. Yummy 😋!
Nice 😍
Great place great people!!!
Very good place
I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. The bagolgi beef was dry and tough. It tasted like they had prepared it earlier, and it has been setting under a heat lamp since then. I have never received just the meat with a tiny bit of cabbage underneath. Usually I get some veggies in it. I stirred in the dry rice hoping that would help, but it didn't. I explained that I am allergic to crab when the side of crab rangoon that was not listed on the menu, but they would not substitute anything. The "wonton" soup was gross. There are not any wonton in it. They substituted steamed dumplings, and the broth was awful. They get 2 stars for the fast service, but I see why it is so fast...the food is not fresh nor tasty.
Everything I tried was delicious. I had spring rolls, seaweed salad, pad Thai and soup.
Our first visit but the food and service is very good. Dinner portions are plenty of food. Delicious crispy chicken. Food served quickly. Dining room is small but nice for a quick meal. Food served on China with silverware.
Nest Thai restaurant in town great food and service
We were pretty skeptical when pulling into the parking space in front of Thai Spice. The bathroom could've been cleaner, but the restaurant itself seemed clean enough.
Food was AMAZING! Way better experience than I expected based on the area of town it is located in.
The staff were kind and helpful.
Very good but too spicy for me
Love this place! Been many times. Never been disappointed! Crab Rangoons are AMAZING!
I always prefer to order to go. My food is always right. I get the chicken pad Thai and edame. The food is amazing.
This place was great. They were super friendly to my loud disabled child. He LOVED the fried rice so much that he tried to feed himself! It was yummy, good prices, quiet little place.
Food is great. Service is awesome. We spent only $100 for 6 people.
Smelled like a sewer inside. Food was bland.
Quality Thai food, served cafeteria style!
A good selection of ready to plate Thai dishes that changes daily, as well as a limited made-to-order menu.
All entrees are without spice, but they have plenty of chilies and spices at hand to heat it up to taste.
Prices are very competitive for quality fast food!
Most importantly: Thai iced tea!
Update - I came in after Thanksgiving and, unfortunately, they're not doing the "express" thing anymore. Everything is now made to order. After 12/5/16, they say they'll offer the same menu as the other Thai Spice restaurants.
Best food best service 😋
Food, Atmosphere, service, very clean
Everything is perfect!!
Spice levels could be more intense but the food is good! The crab Rangoon's are delicious! We liked the pineapple fried rice and honeymoon chicken on our first visit. Both were so good! There was no one inside besides us to eat so it's very quiet, I think they're mostly used to to-go orders. We tried the trio chicken as a to-go order but it wasn't as good as the honeymoon chicken. I also tried the crab & shrimp fried rice & there wasn't much crab so I'd probably not get that again. They advertise bubble tea online and on the window but they actually no longer serve it, just fyi.
Awesome food! New favorite spot in KC.
Delicious food and good service in a nice atmosphere.
take out
I’m a regular for their Thai pho, pad Thai, fried rice & crab rangoon’s. Never disappointed.
Best Thai food ever - great spices and perfectly cooked - and the service is friendly and FAST - if you need a quick sit down restaurant or order to go, this is the place!
This place is very nice inside love the colors, elephants , and picture decoration. My to go order was placed quickly and I was provided a free drink while I waited. The food I order was drunken noodles but it didn't taste like I expected. No real flavor , no heat, no and no basil . Needles to say I won't be returning. The crab Rangoon was really good light ,creamy, not greasy, and not to sweet.
Love the food. Thai tea is great! The server was in a booth with her back facing the door when we came in & not attentive at all. No music playing. Way too much awkward silence. You would think she'd hear us come in talking due to the extreme silence
The Room was chilly; the atmosphere was nice and quiet and relaxing; the food was absolutely fantastic...I actually can't stop licking my lips. And to put the icing on the cake my waiter with hilarious.
Authentic Thai food 😋
Great food!
Good food, avoid the Thai coffee at all costs. I love coffee, I love sweet coffee, I love Thai coffee. Their Thai coffee is outrageously sweet, like inedible sweet.
Good food
Great food at a reasonable price!
Omg I love the food Dec. 1 2022 my first time there and I will be back
Food was tasty and hot on a cold afternoon. Service was excellent!
Food is delicious and service is fast.
Friend and quick!
Very nice art on the walls; Had the Crab and Shrimp fried rice... Delicious! Definitely a Gem of a place... I wish they had Sake though would go very well with the meals! Will definitely be back!
The chicken pho is SO GOOD. Best Pho I've had in KC, order a little earlier than you need because they are so busy, but SO WORTH IT.
I feel terrible leaving a bad review but after our pick up meal tonight, I felt like I needed to :(
My panang curry is by far the worst I’ve had. There was no flavor at all, it was basically just coconut milk with vegetables inside. I also bought a mango sticky rice dessert because those are normally my favorite but the rice didn’t have any flavor, no sweetness or coconut flavor, and the mangoes were unripe. I’m so incredibly disappointed. Please try somewhere different if you are wanting Thai food in KC, there are a lot of amazing places.
Best ThI food around, and the staff is awesome.
Nice place. Kinda expensive for lunch portions but good overall. I forgot to order lunch spicy but that’s on me. I’ll be sure to go again and review the spice.
I'm new to the area, tried a couple places so far but this one has DELICIOUS food. 😋 Super yummy, gotta come and try
It wasn't as good as the last time we were here! Maybe next time.
Cute little hole in the wall. Friendly and efficient staff.
Our go to lunch or dinner spot.
Yummy Pho soup. Wonton broth was good. But noodles were falling apart. Cooked too much? Egg Rolls were dee-licious! Thank You!
Always tasty
Great service and food!
Food is not that good for the price.
I had the drunken noodles with tofu and it was so good! The tofu was amazing! The way the sauce clung to the tofu was perfect. I can’t recommend it enough!
Good food. I had the curry chicken with rice.
Drunken chicken
I cannot exaggerate. I was not expecting my dinner to be one of the top five meals I’ve had in general. I was pleasantly surprised. Order the cashew entree, you will be happy. So so good. Thank you!
They always close before their closing time.
I ordered soup and the yellow curry. Taste like home cooking but unfortunately they do not have or make papaya salad.
To go order. They didn’t give us all of our food the first time. Drove back. Then they forgot the salad dressing. What’s the point of ordering a tiger cry beef salad without the dressing. Ridiculous.
This is the second time they've gotten the delivery order wrong. When I called to tell them, they said I had to bring back the wrong order to get a refund. Obviously I ordered delivery because I don't want to drive anywhere. So the cost of the meal (which is honestly too expensive for the inconsistent product they put out) AND the convenience cost, and the delivery fee, AND the driver tip is all wasted. I requested the manager call me back but he refused and had the server call me again. They finally offered to refund the meal, but I'm out all of the additional costs for delivery. I was already reaching my limit due to the high costs and the coin flip on quality of the meal. We will not be back. Our business is going to Thai Kitchen on US 40.
Love this place!
Nice ppl but they are lost. Asked for bobble tea but they only have smoothies. Weird vibe. We walked next door to pepper jacks. Hopefully we get some food!
Delicious food, great service!
Food quality sucks and has continued to go downhill over the last year or two, go to a different location there are plenty of other Thai Spice that actually know how to cook. Chicken is dry and tough, spring rolls are hard and rolled sloppy, peanut sauce is runny and tastes like herbs for some reason, barely give you any rice which is the cheapest ingredient. Don’t even try the curry here.
This is the best thai food I'd ever eat. The portions are large, tasty and prices are great!. Came from tulsa on vacation and will suggest to everyone coming to Kansas city, to visit thai spice. Best thai food in the midwest.
They were nice! Asking if we needed anything or if we were okay, constant. When my drink was half gone, asked if I wanted more. Haven't had great service like that in a long time. Would recommend going here! They are great, fast, and the food was great! 👍
They were rude and the food was not served as I had ordered it. I won't be going back!
Their service is always excellent their food is always fresh.
The food here is delicious. The portions are so big, my husband and shared the chili chicken and had enough for both of us for lunch the next day. The people are so friendly.
First time here and my crab fried rice was FULL of shells I couldn't even enjoy it
I eat here often but I will stop now that they gave themselves a tip on my credit card on my last visit. Be very careful eating here! They may overcharge your credit card. (Steal from you) If so contact the better business bureau on them!
Our favorite Thai food in the Kansas City area. It's the only thing i miss about moving from Lee's Summit. We still take the drive or go to the Sterling location. 40hwy is great too.
Pricey but good quality and large portions.
DO NOT ORDER CARRY OUT THEY WILL SCREW UP YOUR ORDER. I ORDERED 3 TIMES FROM THIS LOCATION AND ALL 3 TIMES THEY FORGOT SOMETHING THAT I WANTED. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO HERE AGAIN!!!
Outstanding food! Can't go wrong with Rama Chicken!
Amazing! I’ve just done take out, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Answer questions about dishes. Always tastes so good.
Good food been coming here for years now..
Love this place!! Food never disappoints and service is on point.
We visit often. The service is always prompt, cheerful and attentive. The food is always on point as well. I always get the spice tray, the tiny peppers they have in it are awesome with any dish. I highly recommend the Pho and the Poke Bowl.
Great food and a surprisingly nice decor. Will return for a lot more fried rice!
