ThaiPop is a casual-upscale Thai restaurant featuring classic and unique chef inspired Thai dishes. ThaiPop also offers a large Thai inspired cocktail menu as well as a craft beer and wine menu.
What a fantastic experience! The cuisine is absolutely delightful, with stunning flavors that impress. Every dish was fresh and genuine. The ambiance is enchanting, lively, and colorful. The service was top-notch; our server, Dani, was exceptional! She was friendly and incredibly attentive to our needs. I enjoyed every single moment!
ThaiPop is an amazing Thai restaurant in Rochester,MN. A must have when visiting the area. Their new Bangkok pork belly appetizer is unbelievable, might be better than their original. We ordered both, the Bangkok dipping sauce was more to my liking. Best food and drinks around. Thank you for another wonderful experience!!!!!!!!!!!! ππππππ
This place is a fantastic discovery for me and it's a place I will bring back my kids to.
I had the cauliflower yumpops - the cauliflower pieces didn't seem fried, they were roasted which I don't mind since it's healthier but the pieces need to be smaller and roasted more. The yum yum sauce was really yummy and reminded me of an Indian gravy I make.
I also had the Tom yum vegan soup which was absolutely delicious. The quantity is good enough for a family to share (the bowl was larger than my head π), so it was too much for a single person to consume. While I don't mind the leftovers, I wish they had a cup option to make it just right.
I can't wait to come back and try some of the cocktails/mocktails.
Was in Rochester for a few days and checked out Thai Pop for lunch. Loved the ambiance and vibe of this restaurant . Located in downtown Rochester close to the Mayo Clinic this restaurant provides a nice visual retreat.
Like the menu selection and was happy to see gluten free options. We had the Cauliflower Yum Pops, Garlic Pepper Shrimp, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, Thai Basil Stir Fry, and fried beans and Tofu. The food tasted good and arrived quickly.
I would definitely visit again and try other things on their menu. One comment on the service, it can be better.
Very busy on Monday night, ThaiPop is a pop-up turned restaurant and is a clear hit! Highly recommend Khao Soi Curry which is a massive portion suitable for a second dinner or snack! The Island Breeze mocktail is the best Iβve ever had! Friendly, attentive staff and funky cool atmosphere. Definitely a must-do in Rochester!
One of the best restaurants in town, consistently! Tried their seafood boil during restaurant week and WOW. I never would've tried a coconut curry seafood boil at a dedicated seafood boil restaurant, but ThaiPop has a way of making everything amazing and perfectly spiced.
Bomb dot com wings also great, crispy, and spicy.
The real show stopper tonight was Annie's toast though. So much fresh sliced fruit and ice cream on top of the crispiest yet fluffiest bread possible!
10/10 experience
Ps the Son in Law Eggs and Zaap Wings are tasty too
We had a fantastic dining experience at Thai Pop in Rochester, MN. The friendly patron welcomed us warmly, and the restaurant's ambiance, reminiscent of an indoor jungle, was very inviting.
We ordered the Tom Yum Mussels, Tom Kha Soup, and House Curry with Jasmine rice. Each dish was outstanding and tasted authentic.
If you're looking for great Thai food in a pleasant setting, Thai Pop is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!
I have been to Thai Pop for a handful of Seafood Boils, each one better than the last. I cannot stress enough how hard the Seafood Boils go. So good!! My most recent visit on Saturday my bestie and I had the pleasure of being served by Nick- he was the tops! Ask for him next time you go :)
Fun atmosphere! Food was delicious! The Tom Yum soup is huge and super tasty! Fun place!
The best restaurant in Rochester and even among the best in Minnesota. Delicious, consistently good food and very nice service. The owner is kind and the plant ambiance is great. We get the chicken wings every time and are never disappointed. Definitely a must visit place if you're in Rochester.
Food was good. My children loves Thai food so this is where we went. The ONLY reason I donβt give it all 5 stars is that Thai food isnβt my favorite
Ate lunch, had the Son in law appetizer, sprouts & noodles and the masaman curry. It was all fantastic, some of the best Thai food Iβve ever had.
We love ThaiPop! They have super yummy food with good portions and delicious drinks. They have lots of green plants, which is particularly nice during a cold Minnesota winter. Finally, our service has always been excellent.
If you have been even remotely considering eating here, just do it!
Food was excellent! They were very accommodating, our flight was delayed so we were an hour late for our reservation but they were still able to serve us. The spice level was perfect and food was exactly what I was hoping for!

Absolutely the best restaurant in Rochester. The kindest humans work here, the food is always so fresh and fast, the decor is beautiful and welcoming, and the menu is expansive and delicious. They have a wonderful drink menu as well. Cannot get enough!

The food is phenomenal and the people that work there are great.
Great food and a good variety of options. Many dishes are spicy but have the option to be made more or less spicy.

Thai food is my favorite and ThaiPop was fantastic! The Chefs who work there must really know their stuff cause the ingredients were portioned and prepared very well. The service was great and cocktails were fantastic. I would say this is a fantastic restaurant in Rochester, one of the best.
This is the best restaurant in Rochester.
I am a huge fan of Asian foods and this was not very tasty in my opinion. I ordered the noodles and they were mushy and not very flavorful. The chicken wings were highly overpriced and not good at all ( yum yum sauce wings). First time ordering from out of town and I wasnβt a huge fan.
Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester. The food is phenomenal! Service is great, and the atmosphere is even better filled with real plants.
Thai Pop is Rochesterβs best restaurant, in my opinion, because the food is healthy, excellent and consistent, the service is friendly and professional, and the location is close to everything Mayo Clinic has to offer.
Thai Pop is a local treasure.
Also, for vegans and vegetarians, there are tons of great options.
Loved the atmosphere and really delicious food. Great service as well.

Everything is just amazing. The staff for one, is so friendly and gave amazing suggestions.
It was my first time there, and trying Thai food. The food was so full of flavor and spice. The broth is heavenly and so packed with flavor.
Iβm very white so my eyes were watering from the spice but I couldnβt stop eating it, it was so delicious. I absolutely recommend the curry with rice noodles.
The atmosphere is so calm and the decor is stunning, hands down prettiest restaurant Iβve been to.
Stopped at ThaiPop while in town for the Christmas Tournament. Now I'm wondering why we haven't gone sooner. Service, food, and vibe all tops. One of my new Rochester favorites.
The restaurant decor is super cute and the wait staff are so nice. The food quality is a hit or miss to be honest. Sometimes itβs amazing and other times itβs a fail. The food quality and the fact that they are EXTREMELY expensive for Asian street food is why I give them 3 stars tops.
If you havenβt been, give it a try, but keep in mind the menu prices have increased significantly. 2 main dishes, 1 appetizer, and no drinks came out to $70.
Very good food. Good service. We order 2 dishes and 2 appetizers for four people and share.
As usual awesome service and food.... always a great experience
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
The food and service is always amazing!! The staff are very friendly and helpful when ordering. Great place Great food and atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
I read the reviews and I ordered the House Curry, Tom Yum Mussels, Pad Thai, and the Lemongrass chicken. They were highly recommended from the reviews. The House Curry with beef was no good and the beef was not tender. The beef also gets stuck between your teeth. The pad Thai didnβt taste good and the Lemongrass chicken was very dry and wasnβt good either. I only liked the Tom Yum Mussels. The sticky rice was overcooked and hard. It was a waste of money and I wouldnβt come back. The reviews were over rated!
I bought 3 entrees for takeout, 2 Currys, 15& 18 + 1 protein 6.00, 3 flavor Walleye, 28.00 no vegetables, curry were very soupy, no meat, no vegetables, 2 things of rice, $7 tip, total $74.00 I live 38 miles away so next time I'll go to Onalaska.
The food is amazing and they are really great with food allergies. The owner, Annie, actually called me to clear up a miscommunication. So sweet!
Everything was great except one of the hosts would unnecessarily yell βexcuse meβ while trying to walk thru the restaurant despite having loads of room.
One of the best restaurants in Rochester. We had a large group and the service was great and the food is always amazing, been here several times and always a good experience
Lugar hermoso, tranquilo y la comida deliciosa. (Todo ) no olvides ir a este lugar si vas a Rochester
Wonderful food... Nick gave excellent recommendations π
This isn't the best Thai place in town. It has a great vibe, and they try some different things with the food. I prefer a more traditional Thai food, and you can't have a Thai restaurant without spring rolls, I'm sorry. I typically judge a thai place by the spring rolls, sumtum, and massaman beef. If I go back, I try the pad thai or tom kai soup. The food was ok, just not for me. I waited a long time for a table.
I canβt stop talking about this place! The service was great and fast (our server provided really good suggestions!), the cocktails were so well-balanced, and the food was delicious! I almost went back the next day for the noodles and brussels. We also had the tofu satay, which was wonderfully crispy, and the pad thai, which they will make if you beg, but Iβm with the server that the other food was so good and you can get that anywhere. Best news: so much was gluten-free! Would go back right now if I could.
Cool environment and great food
Great food. Great service. Good company
WOW! This is easily one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a long time. Everything was perfect, flavorful, and fun! I highly recommend coming here. I definitely recommend the Noodles + Sprouts as well as the cocktails. They were all so good!
First time trying this place the service was good the atmosphere was nice... But the food the food was horrible my Mom and i order 3 different things the Bomb wings sticky wings and the shrimp had some shrimp that were never peeled the wings were so dry and salty a person could of chipped a tooth. As a big restaurant goer and a major wing connoisseur this quality of food was subpar at best and waaaay overpriced! I would not recommend this place and I will never go back
AMAZING! Best restaurant in Rochester! Food is unbelievable good, along with the atmosphere and service!
What a find! Delicious, high quality food with excellent flavors and bright, fresh vegetables. Adorable atmosphere and very kind staff.
Amazing ambience and delicious food!! I will definitely be back.
Great yuzu cocktail, excellent tofu app, friendly service and cool ambience. Would definitely return.
Amazing food and excellent service. I rarely visit the same restaurant twice while traveling, but I enjoyed my meal so much the first night that I went back a second time. My dinner both nights was awesome!
So good. Iβm from out of town and every time I come here I have to get the Khao Soi Curry, thereβs nothing else like it.
Overall, Thai Pop is a great place to visit for a fairly delicious meal. Just make sure you order the right dishes. It is located in the old location for the Wongs Cafe. Service is good. Seating for two will be a high top table, but tables are somewhat limited and closely arranged, so when they are busy, it will be loud.
Thai Pop has always been a must-visit for me whenever I come to Rochester, MN. Iβve consistently enjoyed not only the food but also the attentive service.
However, this time, I chose to celebrate my wedding anniversary here, and unfortunately, I was left with nothing but disappointment. The staff made me feel like they were doing me a favor by serving us. They even stood by, watching how much tip I would leave.
If the owner reads this, itβs time to consider changing your staff. No matter how great the food is or how iconic the ambiance might be, if the service is poor, people wonβt want to return.
As for me, I wonβt be coming back, and Iβll make sure to tell others visiting Rochester about my experience. If you want to be treated rudely, this is the place for you.
I hope the management pays attention to this, especially regarding the waitress with pink hair. I even asked her for a photo, and she responded with a disgusted look. If Iβm celebrating something, itβs because I want to capture a memory, but now the only memory I have is of her bad attitude. To top it off, I felt obligated to leave a large tip despite the poor treatment.
Good Brussel sprouts
Great food
From the moment we entered, the ambiance was magneticβ a harmonious blend of sophisticated decor and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail extended beyond just the aesthetics; the cocktails were meticulously crafted, each drink a balanced masterpiece that perfectly complemented the menu. The mood was set with precision, and the vibes? Immaculate.
We sat at the bar, where the service was immaculate. The bartender was attentive, kind, and provided incredible recommendations on food and drink as well as history of the chef, restaurant, and information on the local area.
But what truly stole the show was the Khao Soi Curry with brisketβa dish that I am still reminiscing about days later. The brisket, tender and succulent, was enveloped in a velvety, aromatic curry that danced between sweet, salty, and spicy with an effortless grace. The crunchy elements added texture, offering a delightful contrast with every bite. Itβs a dish that embodies the very essence of Thai cuisineβcomforting, complex, and utterly unforgettable.
This restaurant is one worth a trip to Rochester, and if you're in town definitely do not skip it!
This spot gets 5 stars just for the massively impressive palms and birds of paradise. π₯
Papaya salad is terrible. Smell bad. Canβt finish it.

Best Rochester restaurant! KHAO SOI is my favvvvvvv
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Will be back!
Starting off strong I will say this is my favorite restaurant in town by far, the food and atmosphere is amazing. I have had amazing service from the servers, and the bartenders are outstanding but I will say there is a specific person at the front of house, seems like sheβs possibly a manager of some sort, I believe her name is Katie, Iβve had more than one occasion whereβs sheβs been extremely negative. She never seems genuine and hardly says hello, thereβs been a couple times sheβs forgotten menus and left us standing in the middle of the restaurant to grab them, rather than seating us and running back herself to grab them. Leaving us in the way of other customers and workers carrying hot food, I just feel she may not take her customers serious.
Was in Rochester for a few days and checked out Thai Pop for lunch. Loved the ambiance and vibe of this restaurant . Located in downtown Rochester close to the Mayo Clinic this restaurant provides a nice visual retreat.

I would definitely visit again and try other things on their menu. One comment on the service, it can be better.
Came in here for the fastest bite to eat before a flight. Beautiful place! I went strictly off of Nickβs suggestions and HOLY COW delicious. Excellent, informative, fast and polite service. Will recommend this restaurant to everyone as a must stop place from out of town.
Drinks are great. Made from fresh squeezed juices.
Excellent food!! We loved the Coconut Vegetable and Tom Yum Noodle soup. Outdoor seating had fun city vibe while still feeling tucked away with all of the outdoor foliage. Adorable decor inside and out. High quality Thai specialties. Portions are very large and best to share.
One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to.
Great place for thai food in downtown Rochester. Can't do it much better.
Never ate here prior to tonight. Ordered takeout so I never got to address our issue. Food tasted good, but for thai food that showed on the menu it was spicy was very bland. I have been to Thailand many times and have never had Thai dishes this bland ever. All 3 of us had the Thai Basil which is typically a very spicy dish and none of us could taste any pepper of any sort, Tom Lao was under flavored and not as spicy as you get in Thailand, and a couple other things as well for the family which were all lacking in the heat dept for Thai food. Do not order take out if you are picky about spiciness or getting anything close to Thai level spiciness unless you have fresh chilli to add at home. We are on vacation and decided to try based on reviews.
The best Thai-food Iβve had in my entire life.
Wow! What an amazing place! The restaurant is beautiful and very tropical feeling. All of the food we ordered was delicious, but we especially loved the brussels sprouts and the vegetable curry. Weβll definitely be back next time weβre in Rochester!
Highly recommend this place. First of all the staff were friendly and super welcoming. The ambiance is unique and lovely. There were various vegan options kind of make it hard form to choose from! I ordered the Laab het which was 5/5 delicious with the right amount of spice and flavor. Will go back next time visiting Rochester.
Wow, this place is great!! The food was incredible, the mocktail list had so many delicious options (super rare IMO), the staff was so nice and genuine, and the atmosphere was great! We had a 4mo old baby with us and the staff was super welcoming and accommodating.
Like many passing through Rochester by way of Mayo, it can feel hard to find a good place to unwind after a long, difficult day of appointments - this was a restaurant-away-from-home. Thank you for creating a space for my family to have some much needed quality time together. If I could give 'em 6 stars I would :)
We live in Oregon and have family out here - but weβre always so happy and thankful to get a great meal here! We just wish we could stop by more often. Every dish weβve had has been flavorful and well-portioned. Must haves include the pork belly, sprouts, and any of the curries!
Great location, friendly staff and the best food in town. Be prepared to be WOWED! Live in PDX and this place is always a must visit anytime I am in town!!
Overall huge let down
Food was amazing and the drinks were also good. My issue with the service was getting rung up at the table with the handheld device, our server was practically yelling everyones cash totals across the table. I don't have any issue with these devices but a little more discretion and grace with it would have been appreciated. Felt like a low class end to a high class meal, just made the whole table awkward and uncomfortable as they paid their tab.
This was a delicious dining experience in Rochester. Dillon was extremely helpful about GF options and whatnthebkitxhen could offer as a substitute. The Curry Fried Rice was out of this world. The brussel sprout noodle salad option was also good, but not as amazing as the rice. I am giving it a 4 because the restaurant promoted the mocktails and Thai beverages, but they were nothing to write home about and a bit pricey. Stick with water and try more of the food!
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service - the spice levels were perfect and they have many veg options. So glad we came here while passing through Rochester!
Great vegan options!
The tofu satay was incredible
You should know that 1 entree is enough for 2 people or 1+ take home leftovers.
Wonderful. Brisket is amazing , also pork belly appetizer and eggs.
Best Thai food in town! We really like the crispy rice salad, house curry, pad Thai, and T-pop wings.
I was getting some tests done at Mayo and my tech told me I had to try Thai Pop if I liked thai food. Upon entry I was immediatly greeted and seated. The server promptly grabbed my drink order (thai tea, which was perfection and not overly sweet) and explained the menu for me as I was a first timer. While I browsed the options I looked around and was really impressed with the quirky, unique decor. This place is a whole vibe with its pops of color, neons, and just all around FUN atmosphere! I couldnt decide between the khao soi or the t pop wings, so of course I had to get both lol. The wings, ohhhhh the WINGS, those things will frequent my dreams until I have them again. Absolute PERFECTION! Juicy tender meat with the most spectacular crunchy fry you could ever hope a wing to have. That gochujang sauce was the perfect sweet and savory combo with just a hint of spice. I will without a doubt be coming back to try all the other wings offered when I come back for further appointments. The Khao Soi was deliciously creamy with a very comfort food vibe to it. It was a taaaaaad hot for me (and I am a spice lover) but in the best way. That whole my nose is runnin, lips are burning, bout to breathe fire but I cant quit eating it kinda spice. I can dig it, and it will make a fab lunch tomorrow. Service was fast and friendly without being overbearing. As a solo diner, I love a server who doesnt constantly interupt my reading but always makes sure I have what I need. She did great! Ill be back soon!
I had come here for the first time with my Sister for a little chat. Wow that place is absolutely amazing inside and out. I was drawn by the beautiful and inviting set up outside on the patio. And the food smelled delicious from just walking around the corner. Our server was perfect with recommendations. And the yum yum wings were the best ! π€€ So good I had to order another togo !!. The passion pop is served wonderfully as well. Great job to the bartender for making the texture perfect with the right about of sweet. Strongly recommend! And can't say all this without a Huge Thank You to Jennifer for taking excellent care of us. Truly went above and beyond. Can't wait to try out more food and Thai Pop!!
AMAZING food, cocktails and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I've been in Rochester a few days. The food so far has been very meh, everywhere I've went. However, Thai Pop is fire! A must go. This made my day.
Always delicious, great atmosphere and service!
Such an amazing place. The khao soi is to die for!
Love this place, very authentic, service great!
Went with family this weekend. Didn't disappoint! Amazing food, fast service, amazing flavors and awesome staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Always the most authentic Thai food!! I absolutely love this restaurant and will go back every time Iβm in Rochester!!
My wife and I absolutely LOVED this place!!!
Food was great workers were awesome and the atmosphere was cozy casual.
The best Thai vibe in Rochester
Great food, awesome portions, and the cocktails are absolutely amazing. Mine came in a little teacup and I felt like royalty. 1000/10
As a real Asian whose ethnicity lies really close to Thai, I was very disappointed with the amount of rice I had. It was very lackluster with take out presentation. The pork belly was supposed to be crispy, but it was soggy n chewy. I can go to the cities and get this for $10 cheaper of an appetizer with a side and have more in quality and quantity.
Fantastic! Enjoyed the noodles and brussel sprouts, with brisket. Had to add some spice, so they brought out peppers, flakes, and pepper/oil paste. Wonderful.
Looking forward to trying more in the future!
Delicious- that's all I can write. Oh, I nearly forgot the fantastic ambience. This place is visually so cool.
Amazing atmosphere, excellent service, and incredible food. We were so impressed by it all! Our server Pierre overheard us talking about how we liked one of the sauces, and he offered to bring more to our table. Honestly, heβs probably the best server weβve ever had. The food was delicious and came super quickly! We will definitely be returning!
Updated with response to owner
The food was too salty. We asked for very spicy food and the food was not spicy at all. Very disappointed. Surprised it has a 4.7 rating.
In response to the below:
Sure, you have good service. Decent place. However, the food is what matters. Your food was extremely salty. I can handle a lot of salt, but I could not even tell if there were other flavors underneath the salt. As a former smoker, do your cooks smoke heavily? Only a heavy smoker would think that was an acceptable salt level.
Every single dish was salty. Not just one. No other flavor aside from salt. Definitely deserving of a 1 star review. I usually never touch my water, I drank it dry.
Absolutely no spice in the food, when we asked for the traditional (very) spicy preparation. We had also ordered a medium spicy dish and there was no discernible difference in spiciness because there was no spice in either dish at all. This also deserves 1 star.
You need to taste all your food before it leaves the kitchen. Make sure nothing is too salty, the flavors are balanced properly, and that the spiciness levels reflect what is asked for.
What we experienced was so bad we did not trust the kitchen to fix it right even if we asked. We did leave a good tip for the good service.
You should also put more tea in your thai teas, there was too much milk.
I got the curry and it was wonderful. I didnβt even add any proteins and still enjoyed it. The atmosphere is fun too. Overall one of my favorite places to eat
4.5 stars for this cute restaurant with a great ambiance and great service. The food was good, a bit Americanized but good enough. We had the Tom-yum noodle soup and the massaman curry. The rice noodles are delicious and gluten free. Also had the island breeze mocktail which had way too much sugar but I appreciate all the non-alcoholic options as well as gluten free and vegan options available. Big portions so you can take home leftovers!
BEST THAI FOOD IN ROCHESTER!!! The food is amazing!! Everything Iβve ever gotten has always been top notch! The Son in Law and sprouts appetizerβs are awesome!! Great drinks too!! The Service is right on point! The Atmosphere actually feels like they Cared about their customers! Definitely a lot to look at!!
Started with the garlic pepper shrimp. It was deep fried with the shell on, so to get the crust, you had to eat the shells. It's not something I would try again. Next, I had the Sweet Annie B. Mostly sweet syrup with little or no Bulleit bourbon. A glass of syrup is not worth $10.00. For my entree, I had the coconut brisket. It was like roast beef cooked in coconut milk with rice on the side. Would definitely not recommend it. So overall, it's not a good experience.
Authentic taste of Thailand , ordered Tom Yam and was happy to see that actual herbs and the βholy trinityβ of Thai soup were actually there, fresh ingredients creating a great aroma and tasty dish. Thai lime leaves, galangal and lemon grass. Generous dish sizes and super tasty real Thai food. Very friendly waiter.
Iβm a novice to this type of food. But I tried all the appetizers and a few of the drinks and ordered several items offered from main menu. Every dish I ordered ticked all the right boxes. My server was Dylan and she explained all my inquiries and offered suggestions and made my meal an exceptional experience.. the Yuzu My Sunshine was very tasty and the Cocnut Passion cake was the highlight with some Jasmine tea all this to say itβs 5 stars.
The best curry! Super authentic.
Loved the House Curry with Curry!
Loved the vibe of this place, it was so cozy and had green plants everywhere making me feel like I was at home. This was my first visit here for a party to give my mom an award, I ordered the Tongue Thaiβd drink. Good drink had a nice kick to it and all the cocktails were $12. I wish this trend of huge ice cubes in the drink would end. The waitress suggested the PAD PHRIK GANG GAI which I added brisket to. The dish was a very sloppy stir fry in my opinion. The beef brisket was good and just the right amount of spice. But the dish as a whole needed a new presentation. The YUM YUM wings and the other appetizers were very very good. Nice crunch, excellent flavor.
My reason for the low rating was it was very hard to talk to the waitress in the party room. The room is so small so once everyone was sitting down it was no way for her to get to me at the back corner of the room. So I was missed a bunch on refills, I couldnβt ask proper questions to order a different drink then the one I had unless I wanted to yell across the room. It was just very inconvenient, poor room design, it needs another back entrance so no one is neglected on the far side of the room.
I would love to give this place another try, it seems like a cool date night spot. Vibrant-Hip- Green- Tasty. Worth a 2nd try when Iβm not in the party room.
Great food and service. I went back twice during my work trip. Nice outdoor seating.
We have been coming to Rochester often for appointments and procedures and are very happy to have found Thai Pop. The food reminds us of our favorite Thai spots on the West Coast that we just have not found equals to in the Cities. Flavors are amazing and there were so many veggie and fish options we had a hard time deciding. We opted for takeout but will definitely try outdoor seating next time.
Some of the best, authentic Thai food in a traditional and tasteful setting, conveniently located.
Thai Pop never disappoints :) However, I was pretty bummed when our waiter informed us that the menu changed and my favorite go-to dish, Chinese Broccoli Stir-Fry, was no longer available. Our waiter suggested Pad Pak Vegetable Stir-Fry as a similar alternative. It was super tasty!
Nothing beats the Chinese Broccoli Stir-Fry in my opinion though, and Iβm wondering if there are any plans to bring it back or if I could still request this dish? Thank you in advance!
I am giving two stars because the food is good, but the place rate should be lower due to the unaccepted way my partner and I were treated there.
This first experience I had at this place was fine: the food is tasty, the Thai Tea they serve is great, and the environment is cool.
On the cons side, t takes forever to be attended, and if it the place is packed, triple it! Price wise, it isnβt actually cheap, but still on the affordable range, especially because the portion sizes are reasonable.
Last Friday my partner really wanted to try another dish because of the pleasant gastronomic experience in our first visit.
I arrived at Thai Pop 4:45pm, after work. I ordered my Thai Tea and my partner a coffee. The place was busy, service slow, but the server was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered food, it took about 20 minutes to have it served. We ate, ordered appetizers and drinks. By 5:40 we asked for the Bill and payed it. While we were putting our stuff together to leave, one of the attendants, a tall and stocky woman, came to our table and literally demanded us to leave the place because it was past 5 and the table was reserved.
I was astonished, I had never been through anything close to that ever. It was humiliating and we felt extremely embarrassed. Then I decided to talk to a manager. To our surprise I was told by the manager that those were common procedures, especially if we stay longer than 2h. Butβ¦we were there for 1 hour, and couldβve been less if the service was not slow. But the point is: asking customers to leave is rude, and unacceptable. I really hope they review their procedures and policies because it is rude and extremely un-American.

I asked to talk to the manager, and a person (woman) came talk to us. If we didnβt actually talk to the manager, then one more flaw.
I am not sure if I will want to go back. It was a horrible experience to us, we both felt extremely unwelcome. I hope this doesnβt happen to other people. We wish all the best for the business, staff and owners.
I was surprised by how authentically Thai the food at this restaurant was compared to other Asian restaurants in Rochester. I loved both dishes that I got: the Son-in-Law fried boil egg in a tamarind sauce & an extra-spicy (per request) house curry with brisket. Staff was very nice and checked in on you throughout the meal. Service was 5/5!
Son-in-Law eggs (4/5):
The pickled red onion and cucumber with fresh chilies paired so well with the sweet and savory tamarind sauce. It made for a perfect bite with the fried boiled egg, which was not overly-fried. I feel like a lot of restaurants overly-fry their boiled eggs which creates a rough rubbery outer layer but Thai Pop got this one right in my opinion.
House Curry w/ Brisket (5/5):
Although the House Curry base itself was nothing standout compared to other Thai restaurant curries, it was still very delicious. The part that upped this dish to a 5/5 for me was the quality of the brisket. Iβve never had a brisket beef cut inside a Thai curry before, and it was a perfect pairing. The brisket was super tender and soft, soaking up the curry so well. It came with evenly-cooked rice too :)
Very yummy food and great staff! Will definitely go back! Cute decor. I would recommend making a reservation.
Great food! Everything weβve tried on the menu has been phenomenal. Pierre and Jennifer have been outstanding servers and made our experience even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend this place if youβre looking for Thai food.
Good Thai food.
Amazing food...multiple options for meat eaters or vegetarians! Chic fun vibe, incredible staff!!!! This place is a must!!!
From the food to the servers to the atmosphere all impeccable. Great job guys ! The beef jerky and yum yum wings are to die for!
Great cocktails and beer. The Yum Yum wings were fantastic along with the coconut brisket. Very comforting. Will return for sure!
Stopped here on the recommendation of a friend while passing through - very cool interior, friendly staff, and good food.
Excellent on every level!
Fantastic food and service! This place was recommended to us and was soooo good! The flavors the drinks the staff!
Great food and unique drinks. Finally a place where something listed as spicy truly is spicy!!
Wings are amazing and the service was great. I got the thai basil stir-fry with mild spice. The wait staff let me know that the dish was just the meat and sauce and asked if I wanted to add a veg - very much appreciated that. Everyone else loved their food - coconut brisket, pork belly, walleye, and the curry rice salad (last one was a bit spicy for my momβs taste but she enjoyed it.) Solid drink options, both alcoholic and NA. Definitely would recommend.
4.5 Stars - we stopped in for lunch and everything was pretty tasty. You could customize your spice level on most dishes they had many options for vegetarians and a good selection of cocktails to select from. The decor was fun and tropical and really tried to transport you to a different location than the βfrozen North.β Our server was very pleasant and had the perfect level of attention.
Food was yummy and delicious. The kids enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The drink menu was also very well done kudos to the drink program coordinator.
My absolute favorite Thai restaurant I've ever been to! I love the soups!
The food was SOOO yummy. I got the spicy curry and it was *chef's kiss*. Peter was a wonderful host!
