Curries, noodles & other standard Thai meals round out the menu at this informal, mom-&-pop eatery.
There are two types of Thai restaurants in the Twin Cities: either Hmong fusion (mostly Thai but some Laos, Vietnamese, and even Korean foods) and then "actual" Thai resteraunts. Unfortunately, this was Hmong, and possibly the worst I have visited so far. Nothing against Hmong people. I have just found that the best Thai food in the Twin Cities are made by Thai people, especially Lisu Thai cooks.
I tried the classics such as wontons and chicken satay. Bland but edible. I also tried the salt and pepper calamari. It was dreadful. The Thai Tea was okay, but pre-mixed in a pitcher. They were out of some of the other items I asked for, and there was no dessert options. They didn't have Thai coffee either.
The place was empty the whole time I was there. The lady working the front barely checked on me. The floors were sticky. The tables were not as clean as should be. The bathroom was actually not bad. I didn't even take my leftover food to go.
The service was quick and good but the food was not up to taste. We went around 2pm and they ran out of pho so I ended up ordering something else. The salmon salad was the favorite dish. The fried rice wasn't horrible but it's heavy on black pepper. The curry was creamy and coconuty. The Papaya salad just tasted fishy and barely had anything in it so it wasn't good to my liking. Their thai tea was great & fresh while their coconut water was a generic brand (was expecting asian coconut drink). Lastly, each dish had their own spice level so even though we requested for similar spice levels for the dishes, they varied a lot which was confusing.
I purchased this on Uber Eats last night. It took over an hour. The papaya salad container was half full and half was carrot slices. The beef Pho had all fat pieces and 2 meatballs. The taste was off almost like nutmeg. The egg rolls came cold and already soggy. I was not pleased and won’t recommend it.
Food was delicious! The staff was friendly enough and I got my food in a reasonable amount of time. I had the Drunken noodles with chicken at their Hot level. I'm used to spicy and I have to admit that it was hot. If I'm ever in town, I would definitely eat here again! My only criticism though, is they have a surcharge if you use credit card.
Chicken satay was quite tasty. Beef Pad Thai was good. Ordered it extra hot, and it came out that way in my opinion. Same with the Pattaya Fried Rice, which tasted real good. The Beef Dumplings, however, we're only ok. Pretty sure the dipping sauce was just so you sauce, or it tasted that way primarily. 40 minute drive to try it out, but I'll go back again if I'm in the area.
Customer service was bad!
old furniture. table was sticky (dirty) The quality of this place is a joke for the Minnetonka area
Food was horrible. I paid almost $50 for watery coconut soup with THREE shrimps small ones at that and a handful of onions and cherry tomatoes. Just nasty!
When I told the waiter this he said " ok. Oh well!" and just walked away.
DO BETTER!! 😑
I AM NOT MAKING FALSE ACCUSATIONS!!! IF I COULD ATTACH A PICTURE I WOULD! YOU GAVE ME FOUR SMALL ALREADY COOKED SHRIMP!!!
IM NOT THE LIAR!
Super fresh and hot...the basil fried rice was outstanding.
Came in with a large party and ordered half of the menu, all items were superb :) and the service was very good and quick too
Great Pad Thai and the best cheese wontons I've ever had!
pad kra pow is my fave here
Quaint family-owned restaurant with delicious options. My go-to is their peanut curry with veggies. Careful - they aren’t playing around with their spice levels! I’d recommend ordering a more mild level than you think.

I used to LOVE pattaya. I went in today and found out they were under new ownership (it had been a while since we moved out of the area). Anyways, figured I'd still give it a go since I drove an hour for it. . . I won't make the drive again. I order pad thai, because if that isn't good then I figure I don't really want to try anything else. It wasn't that great. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't the old pad thai that made me fall in love with Pattaya. As I eat my left overs, I'm getting more of an american chinese flavor, which is making me want to go down to one star, but it's left overs so I'm not sure that it's fair to do that. Overall, I'm sad that I took the two hours to drive there and back home.
Ooooo loved it. Not too busy and the PHO was delicious. Also friendly staff
Both times I have been here the food has been great. Service has been very good. Reasonable price.
The restaurant was empty. The food came to fast and unevenly heated. We order a 0 spicy curry and they gave us a medium. I sent it back afyer 1 bite and chugging a glass of water. Then the waiter tried to gaslight us. He claimed that he mentioned that the mild was spicy. I whould never order spicy food.
The food was delicious. I had been looking for a place to try a papaya salad and this was good. For me the 3 was definitely spicy other salad but still enjoyable. The three on the chicken stir fry was not as spicy, but more a like a 2. He did warn us for Mn vs Thai levels but be aware they could vary. I would definitely try again. We dined in and while the service was excellent, the server seemed to be covering all the tables.
Had a delightful lunch. Very flavorful dishes. Enjoyed papaya salad, pork egg rolls (made from scratch) were excellent. My friend loved her drunken noodles dish also. Highly recommend for some real Thai food
Not open during posted hours. (Sign in the window stated they would be closed for a week - Starting a week later.) Nothing on the website to suggest the restaurant would not be open. Very disappointing.
Must try Thai restaurant. Limited menu but food is really good 👍
My group enjoyed the food, the service and the decor. I couldn’t stop eating the pad thai.
Food taste is on point, love the food. They just need to be more organised- occasionally I experienced they run out of things, short staffed issues etc
excellent thai food, we love coming here!
really solid thai food here, come give it a shot!
So so good! Love that there are spicy levels too! We will definitely be back!
First time eating here since the new owners and it is so different. It’s okay, but the previous owners made much better Thai food. I won’t be returning. Prices increased massively for worse food.
I just order take out whenever I'm in the area. But fantastic food for the value.
One of my favorite stops whenever I happen to be in the area.
This food is so delicious. I order the basil chicken fried rice and chicken pat Thai. Yum yum
Was unimpressed with the food. The stir fry vegetables had way too much pepper and that's all I could taste. The beef pho was mediocre at best. All I could taste was ginger and nutmeg I believe. The chicken wings was the best thing I had. Pretty sad to spend 60.00 on uber eats and I'm still hungry and threw the rest of the food away. Won't waste my money here again
As a person who regularly eats Thai food, I was excited to try this place but what a disappointment. I ordered a spice level 1 and the food was so hot I couldn’t even eat it. I called the restaurant to ask if they could remake or refund the food and they spent 5 minutes arguing with me about my experience and refused to do anything about it. I ended up hanging up on them when they basically told me it was my fault for not understanding their spice levels. What terrible customer service.
My kids and I ago here as often as we can. Excellent food and service! Well priced for Thai cuisine.
Really good, fresh food. Thoughtful and friendly service. We are big fans of Thai food and we will go out of our way to come back to this excellent spot.
Very good.
The Pad Thai was awesome.
Food here is fantastic, prices are pretty standard. I ordered mine at a medium spice level and it was flavorful without being overpowering. Great place, definitely eating here again in the future.
Update: New management since March. Went there once and was not impressed.
Had been recommended to us by a couple of friends.
Just finished eating. It was excellent. Very tasty flavors. Pad Thai was right up there with the best I have had. Staff is warm and welcoming.
Highly recommend to anyone who likes Thai.
The green curry with chicken - fantastic!!
New ownership! Egg and Spring Rolls were good. The Tom Yum soup broth was good and maybe it was because I it was my first time trying it, but I expected more ingredients especially the meat for the amount paid.
The stir fried vegetables were very soupy and again, the chicken was also scarce. No complaints on the Pad Thai. The chicken wings were very plain tasting. We may try some other things but miss the old offerings and owners.
First time eating Pattaya since the new owners. I went into the experience very optimistic. The Pad Thai has no flavor. It’s about half the size of the normal portion. The food to me was poorly made, and I already know I won’t be back in the future. Good luck!
I'm very surprised to see how many good reviews there are about this place. I usually do not write reviews, but I felt this needed to be said. Yesterday was my first and will be my only experience with them. I have zero plans to dine here again. Not only did they lack hospitality and service, but their food was also very disappointing. Halfway through our meal, we found a piece of hair stuck to one of the Lao sausage we had ordered. When I brought it to the waiters attention, he took a closer look at it and slowly pulled off the hair. No response, no apologies, nada. So, I walked back to our table. My sister informed us that she had taken care of the bill already and we all left. To our disappointment, they still billed us for the hairy sausage.
Love this place. Does anyone know what happened to the previous owners?
I tried this place after the new ownership took over. Small menu to start. Looks like there are Laotian-Influenced dishes as well as Thai dishes. I had the Seafood Tom Yum soup, and the Laotian sausages for an appetizer. Both were really delicious.
Just ordered Shrimp Pad Thai takeout from Pattaya. New chef. I asked for mild and got spicy. Not a problem. What is a problem is the portion. It is smaller by half but the price is the same. Very disappointed. Two stars.
Great service and really good pad thai and tom yum soup. Probably the freshest ingredients we've had at a restaurant lately. Highly recommended!
did not disappoint 🙏
Very friendly new ownership! Food was outstanding and the staff really appreciates their customers.
One of my favorite places to eat in the area. The food is incredible; I have tried most of the menu at this point and have not once been disappointed. You really can't go wrong here!
Food was good, but service was non-existent. We were not greeted or directed and they simply stared at us as we sat ourselves. Besides our server, the rest of the staff were rude from the moment we stepped in.
Only get to Pattaya a couple times a year, love it! Sad to know there will be new owners soon.
This place is the best! We love the green curry and pad Thai chili. Wonderful family that owns this place and the food is always delicious! Big portions and if you like it spicy, order medium, it’ll be enough!! We can’t recommend this place enough!
Very Lovely restaurant. My first time there. The waitress was very accommodating and made some great suggestions! Food was prompt and absolutely delicious! The family has recently lost some very close loved ones & the waitress was still very attentive and kind! Our condolences to you and your family and I would RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! THANK YOU AGAIN ❤️
Great Thai food, loved the potato curry.
We love the drunken noodles with tofu and chicken pad Thai! They also have huge dinner portions. The spice level is always a little bit of a guess depending on the day and “mild” still has spice. Only disappointed that the crab cheese pieces got smaller and prices increased over the past year, but glad they’re making it through covid!
I ordered Veg curry fried rice with Tofu. Taste was great. Food was prepared fresh. Wish it had more veggies.
The pad thai curry and pad see ew were delicious. We may have found a new go-to takeout spot.
Tom kha soup was watery and didn’t taste of anything.
Great food. Great service, priced fairly too.
Showed up during business hours and they are closed.
Sad this place wasn’t what we had expected! We ordered the drunken noodles (mild), sesame chicken (no spice) and chicken pad Thai. First, the drunken noodles were SOOO spicy. I had to guzzle water between bites and ended up not being able to eat it. Even with rice. The pad Thai had NO vegetables and a few pieces of chicken. The sesame chicken was good, but there’s not many sesame seeds? Maybe this was a kitchen gone bad type of Sunday?
Great food and friendly staff. We picked up an assortment of dishes to host a party our house and everything was really good. Drunken noodles had great flavors and love the freshness of the holy basil. Shrimp spring rolls where rolled tight and had a fresh flavor. Pad Thai was run of the mill but that's not the most exciting Thai dish anyways. I really liked the Siam rolls over the Thai egg rolls. We will definitely order from there again.
Curry!
Delicious 😋 I tried them for the first time and had Ramen with chicken and iced tea it was amazing I can't recommend it more for the price and quality. I will be eating here more for sure.
Wonderful flavor in all the dishes.
Very good food and large portion. I ordered my meal "hot" and it was very spicy! I love spicy food so it was nice to find somewhere where the food was actually spicy
First time trying this place and boy was I amazed! Their appetizer and entree are out of this world. The owner were also very nice and friendly, I highly recommend this place.
Medium makes your nose run. Delicious!
This is not Thai food. This is cheap imitation of Thai food. I have no idea how this restaurant has the rating it does. I'm guessing people have no clue what real Thai food is supposed to taste like.
My coconut soup was tasteless and had zero flavor of Thai coconut soup. I have no idea why the Pad Thai was orange and tasted nothing like actual Pad Thai.
We just moved here and at least I now know this restaurant will not be my go-to spot.
This is not authentic Thai food.
My husband and I stopped by today for lunch. We never ate here before and never heard of this place but happen to see it on google when searching for something different. We love quality foods and truly loved this place. This is our new favorite spot.
Oh yeah, we are southern people who likes a little spice to our foods and mild was the level of choice and it was spicy enough for us...so be careful with the spice levels.
Huge portions of yummy food! The only thing I'd watch out for is spice - two of my friends asked for mild and my boyfriend asked for medium spice. They all said it was way more spicy than expected.
Stopped for lunch with a friend. Staff are friendly and have safety protocols in place to ensure sanitation and cleanliness for everyone. Dishes are homemade and generous. Description off spiciness scale accurate and on front of menu.
The food is fairly good but their Thai sausage is not really Thai sausage which is a little disappointing
Amazing meal , and good prices
Drunken noodles are perfect and same with the potato yellow curry dish. Overall the food is amazing! Highly recommend
Good food, fast service, friendly staff
We went there on Feb 2021 as a first dine in during the pandemic. They are busy for pick up and just had 2 tables open for dine in. I love the food here and the staffs are super friendly.
Best Thai I've found in in the cities.
Had crab cheese wontons, some skewered grilled chicken and chicken pad thai. All very tasty. I'm a spicy food person and got the pad thai 3/5 spicy. Would get 4/5 spicy next time. GF thought it was spicy and just right, I thought it could use a bit more.
The food is amazing and so worth the reasonable prices. Service is great as well. I like the hot and medium level spice, depends on the day.
This is my go to place for Thai food! Great portion sizes and taste on all of the items I have ordered!
We live just up the road from here and hadn't tried it until today- will be going again! We ordered the egg rolls, crab cheese wontons and pad thai with chicken and shrimp, mild spice. We like spicy food and even the mild spice had our eyes watering (in a good way)! Delicious and fresh food all around. Took less than 20 minutes for our food to be ready after calling in the order for pick up.
Must try if you live in the area!
Fantastic thai food. Have never been anything but impressed with the quality.
Went to go try their new items on the menu & it was delicious! The sausage was good. The basil fried rice was splendid. The papaya salad was amazing, considering it was on a medium spicy level, wasn't too dry or watery. The sticky rice was packaged in a cute bamboo container. Portions were great & the service is spectacular. We also ordered the quarter chicken leg & that really hit the spot. Skin is crispy & delicious, the flavor is light & enjoyable. I had a wonderful experience here & will be back for more.
Please do support these family owned businesses, especially in difficult times like this. They also do take-outs for your convenience & the food is still delicious! ❤
Food is fresh and delicious!
Best phad thai i have had. Spicy was perfect for me. Ate slowly and enjoyed every bite. If you don't love spice, stay to the mild.
Love the food and haven't been to another Thai or Asian restaurant since my first visit. Take out is no disappointment either.
Just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try some take out from Pattaya. It exceeded my expectations! The food was great and at a very good price. Even my boyfriend who doesn’t normally like Thai food loved it! We got the Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Peanut Curry. Will definitely be going back!
Pattaya Thai is easily our favorite place for Thai food in the western suburbs. We typically get either one of their curry dishes or noodles, both of which are always delicious, regardless of the type or flavor, with a fairly large portion sizes. We mostly do take-out and rarely do we need to wait long at the restaurant past the pick-up time they quoted us. Overall fantastic place with great food and good service.
We ordered the pad Thai and some curry and we weren’t very impressed with either. The pad Thai didn’t have any sauce, just boiled noodles with some peanuts and veggies. I was very disappointed with how the food turned out when we paid $50. definitely won’t be going back.
Such good food! 😍🤩
And be advised, HOT IS HOT!!🥵🥵
DEFINITELY my fave local Thai.
The pad thai is spot on, they give you 5 different spice levels, 1 being the mildest, 5 being the hottest.
This is positively one of the best food places. Always fresh, always delicious.
Dine in or carry out so speedy and good. Also had a party and they fixed a number of entrees and appetizers. All my guests raved about the food.
Wonderful and kind service. Love the staff and owners.
Delicious food, quick service, and a local place! So glad I discovered this gem!
Everything here is awesome, and the service is great. They're so nice. Pretty sure it's family owned too which is always nice to see. One of our favorite places. Please support it during the pandemic! Their takeout portions are huge!
Food was pretty good. I ordered a spicy curry and the service was great!
Overall (4.2 stars composite score):
Tasty neighborhood joint with solid service and amazing value.
Food/Drink (80% 1.5 star total):
Pad Pri Khing. Got the tofu with this tasty string bean dish that has a red curry base to it. The flavor is nice and balanced. The sauce coats just the right amount for each tasty bite.
Drunken Noodles. Flat rice noodles with egg, scallions, bean sprout, bell peppers and basil. A tasty classic. Loved every bit of it.
Service (80% of 1.5 star total):
Shout out to Mai and Lia, your ambassadors to all tasty things Thai and beyond. You get treated like family.
Value (100% of 1 star total):
Portions are HUGE. If you love value, this is THE place for you. I never give out a perfect value score, so this will be a crowd pleaser
You can also get a BOGO entree if you have the Entertainment Book. Value on value on value.
Atmosphere (80% of 1 star total): Simple clean decor with calming spa music make this a place to retreat to after a long day at the office. Bathrooms are clean and smell super nice .
Occupying the old Coco Loco space, this family-owned and operated restaurant is a wonderful hidden gem in the neighborhood.
Great Pad Thai!
Great neighborhood food place. Bonus points for a cozy fireplace 🔥, and the good is excellent.
Great place! Awesome food!
Good food
Big portions, great taste for a fair price. The server with the red glasses is really accommodating and friendly. Edit: I think the " server with the red glasses" is the owner 😬 oops 😁
Best chicken fried rice iv ever had hand's down, and Worth it !
If you're looking for great thai food check this place out! The spice levels are perfect as it should be for asian cuisine! The food is made from scratch! Thanks MaiNhia! We'll be back soon!
Great food. I have liked everything I have ordered from there. Sometimes it's confusing when you call because the gal just says hello and not the name of the place so sometimes I think I miss-dialed the number, but it always seems to turn out and I get my yummy lunch.
Food was GREAT! I asked for it spicy, which I'm usually disappointed in, but they lit it up and I loved it!
Great food and great service
Always good pad thai curry. I just tried the drunken noodles and vegetables in Thai sausage dish, those were both delicious as well!
Great food, portions, and service when I dined in previously. Decided to go with takeout w/ the beef & potato dish and SPECIFICALLY asked for no mushrooms and onions due to restrictions and I arrived home and it has more vegetables than beef and potatoes. I called back and informed the manager and she apologized and hung up.
Hits the spot every time. Great staff and even better food!
Good food, ok price.
I love this place every time. The food is always spot on!
One of the best chicken pad Thai’s
The food - spectacular. The soup wasn't really my type of taste, but it was flavorful. My pad thai was a little spicier than I was expecting, but I admit I didn't read how they describe their spice levels closely enough to not take responsibility for that. But again, the pad thai was full of flavor, I loved it!
However, I felt very uncomfortable dining there. There is a list of warnings on the front of the menu for a reason, the server with the red glasses (who is also the owner) snapped on a customer next to me. He ordered a fried rice that came with three meats, but he had only wanted chicken. I was not there when he ordered, so I have no way of verifying what was said. But, the owner argued with the man, telling him he can pay for two meals if they refire it or he can leave. He obviously left, and she decided to try and justify her actions to another customer, and also to me. I don't care if he was rude (he seemed pretty shocked to me), smacked his lips, or whatnot. He is still the customer and there were still other diners who had to uncomfortably sit and watch this unfold.
Outside of that incident, she was very friendly and kind. However, I cannot justify dining at a place where a server, let alone the owner, would act that way. So, unfortunately, I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
Great service and very tasty food.
I haven't been to the restaurant but my coworker picks up takeout for us a bunch so I have had their food many times. The quality and flavor is very consistent. The portions are huge for the pad thai, which i love. Definitely one of the best plates of pad thai you can get around here.
Great food! I loved the outdoor patio area!
It's my new local favorite! The staff is friendly and my order has always been ready on time as well as perfectly prepared. It is close to home and I will be back many times. It is a good price point for take out that is so delicious. My family is working through the menu to find our favorites. Visit often to keep this gem around!
Seriously? Extremely hot food in cheap plastic foam containers for take out? Would never try this place again
I love their food!!!! Excellent dishes and service
The final food was good. The wait time for each appetizer and getting the food was way too long.
Two hairs in my pad Thai, and the coconut soup was so bland. Thom ka soup should be packed full of flavor and this was literally flavorless. Avoid this gross, flavorless restaurant.
I give 5 star to this restaurant, it’s the best Thai food I had in twin cities, the owner is super nice too! The attach photo is curry duck, it’s amazing 😉.We will definitely be back!
Great food!
The menu read "crab" and they brought out imitation crab legs, those things made from leftover fish parts and dyed red. Really disappointing.
Great Thai food. Their shrimp rolls and yellow curry are to die for!!!
Service is slow although food was delicious.
Nice place great food, fast service.
Rude staff, bad food. My advice is don't spend your hard earned money here!
The staff were nice, and helpful. The dish was hot and the right level of spicy i asked for but the noodles were subpar at best. If they up there noodle game then thiz would get a much better revies.
Best Thai food I've had in the Twin Cities so far!!
Food is tasty even though it is junk food. Giving 1 star because of the waitress, the fat lady with red frame glasses have some serious attitude issues . The utensils they provide to have food looks like a decade old too with cracks and black spots .
Excellent food and good service overall. I appreciate the complimentary bowl of soup to start the meal and the fact that this restaurant does not adjust their spice level to the midwestern palate: at most Thai restaurants, I can get a 5 without really feeling it; at Pattaya Thai, 4 is going to be too hot for me. Worth a visit for sure.
I love Thai, and this is the best! They dont get weird about special orders !
The pattaya fried rice is fantastic
Fantastic food and service
Great food. Good value especially for lunch.
