Food is crazy good. Everyone bragged up their own order. We got 4 rice dishes and we absolutely loved the flavors. Personally my favorite was the garlic rice with pork. The pork was exceptionally tender and the flavors were garlicky and perfect.

It's small and not fancy but the food is great, Honey Chicken is amazing and the veggie rolls are only a buck but so good.

My favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Will go out of our way to go here rather than a couple of closer Thai restaurants when doing carry out. Garlic fried rice, pad thai, and massaman curry are all much better than other places.

I used to be a regular customer of Amy’s Thai. The food still tastes good.

However inflation has taken its toll for the lunch portions here. No soup, less portion sizes for the food, and higher prices.

I won’t be too critical because it is still tastes good and I love the fact they are mom and pop owners.

I also overheard that lunch in dining will be going away, which is sad.

Best Thai food in the area 10/10

I took my children, and we were blown away by the quality of the food and the kindness of the server. We have had Thai all throughout the Metro Detroit area, but this was top tier quality and the most satisfying spice combinations we had found. The portions were absolutely what you would expect for the price, and the speed with which they were able to assemble our dishes was mystifying. We could not have had a better experience and the waitress who was on duty the night of February the 18th was so kind.

Best authentic Thai food taste from an international traveler who visits Thailand 12 times a year. Keep up the good job

I went here once and will never go again. I love Thai food and try to visit as many as I can. I have an outside sales job so I drive all over metro Detroit. This was my first visit but I won't be coming back. The food was just OK, I can easily name at least a half dozen in the area that are better but they charged me MORE THAN $20 FOR A DRUNKEN NOODLE LUNCH! What's worse is that they surcharged me for using my debit card. FYI, debit cards can't be surcharged and must be treated same as cash. You can learn more about that on Visa & MasterCards websites as it's not the point of this post..

Bottom line, I don't recmuthisnplace at all. $21+ for 1 person lunch is ridiculous. Average food that's grossly overpriced.

I got vegetable pad Thai (little different style sauce then others I have had) and it was just average and the noodles were a little undercooked.
I went there when the temperature was in the high nineties and the restaurant was a little warm.
It's a small place with 7 tables but they seem to have steady carryouts.
My friend loves eating here and I will try it again and try their mixed vegetables curry.

Food is excellent. Not many Thai places around & they excel in quality & taste. There is a small dine-in area however, most of their business is carry-out.

It’s close to my work, so very convenient. It’s great every time, great service and great for left overs; I get about 3 lunches out of it for one meal.

I randomly found and tried Amy's about a year ago by searching Google and looking at the highest ratings for restaurants near me. It has become a favorite of mine ever since.

I've tried at least 1 of every category of dishes they offer and almost every one of their curry dishes and have always enjoyed them with the exception of the N6 Pad Woon Sen and the N5 Southern Thai Noodle which were just OK.

I've settled into the C2 Gang Keaw Warn (Green Curry) as it has become my favorite and my go to almost everytime I go although I'm confident no matter who goes you will find a dish that you will love.

I personally have recommended friends, family, and co-workers to try Amy's and have never had one person come back and tell me anything other than they absolutely loved it and are now regulars themselves.

Every time I go I'm greeted by the same regulars (I'm pretty sure are all family) who not only recognize and remember me but also remember my usual dish, meat, and spice level (which is not a level even listed on the menu). And everytime it's consistent quality and taste. Even their white rice that comes with your meal is great by itself. It has flavor, it's cooked just right, and isn't too loose, dry, or sticky. The customized spice level isn't just heat for the sake of heat. It's heat with flavor. It's the proper way to do it. I've tried many other Thai places and they just don't compare. I can't say enough about the quality and flavor of their food at Amy's. They just get it. They can truly cook. I hope they never change a thing.

Give them a try. It's a small place and most people I tell are shocked a place called "Amy's" could have such great Thai food. But you will be pleasantly surprised. Be nice and be respectful. They are kind people.

Food was alright, this used to be our favorite Thai joint but the quality hasn't kept up with the prices. I will say the young man working the front counter was extremely rude and short with me, I walked in and he said "what?" Like I wasn't a paying customer. Idk if I'll be back.

It was quite busy when we arrived. We had a party of 8. We also had members who were vegan and gluten-free. Amy's was able to accommodate everyone. The food was delicious and the service was fast.

I have been looking for a Thai food place close to home. Amy's is almost in my backyard, I found them completely by accident when I took an alternate route home.
The food was piping hot, and exactly as I ordered it. I was able to divide it in half for 2 satisfying portions that were accompanied by a spring roll.

UPDATE 01/13/2024 After spending the night and part of today without power our house hasn't had enough time to warm up. We were all tired from a cold night, and a very early breakfast at a local 24 hour diner. Amy's Thai was already our go to if power didn't come back on, so we went anyway. This is just the most awesome Thai food place around. Super Super Super food. I recently rated a trip to Eat Thai that was not good, with a we can't make curry that isn't hot. Well guess what. I had curry fried rice with a spicy symbol by the description. I asked about making it tiny spicy and of course it was done perfectly. Just simply the best meal I have had in a while. Perfect spice level ( mild.) I just can't do spicy anymore. Family run shop and dad is an awesome cook. Everyone is SUPER friendly, just the nicest people around. Just don't go anywhere else. UPDATE 09/29/2023. Just two of us today, so we tried the Satay Gai appetizer. It was very good. The sauce was a unique and pleasantly flavored accompaniment. I have Thai special fried rice with pork which was really really great. The pad Thai curry was its usual awesome too

UPDATE 07-15-2023. So glad to have the family from Amy's Thai back from their trip to Thailand. They were super busy which is great. The food was its usual awesome.

Mothers Day at Amy's. It was requested and a treat. Our neat little local treat has become a little more well known. That's great for this awesome family, but it is becoming hard to get a seat. I really am hoping that they expand some day soon.

(03/07/23) just another GREAT day eating in at Amy's Thai. Everyone enjoyed what they had. I have been trying different things and again my meal was awesome. I had pad cashew nuts with beef as my protein (mild) and WOW is all I can say. My wife had the pad thai curry with chicken (mild) and as usual loved it. It's simply awesome food and yes everything can be made vegetarian. (12/29/22) Really busy tonight. We arrived just before the inside seating got crazy. Take out business flowing fast. Another amazing meal. No picture (sorry), my family is giving me the business over my dood staging. I had the perfect Pad Thai with pork tonight. No Red pepper flakes and mild spicy. Loved the spring roll appetizer. Really.. just get here and try your favorite Thai food made fresh and "your way."

Update to my previous review. Amy's is packing them in and churning out a good takeout crowd. If you believe in quality brings business then the crowd speaks to the food and service. Our food was still great and I just need to make sure I ask for no red pepper flakes. That was my fault, but once I scraped the flakes off I was fine. Still great and still recommend them (10/09/22.) Wow, Wow and Wow. I haven't been to a Thai food restaurant in easily 30 years. I had a very bad experience then and was not able to overcome it until now. My son has been asking to try and he finally talked me in to it. My wife found Amy's and what a hidden gem. It's a smaller place (slightly bigger than the two or three table asian style takeout look of others.) It has a clean, fresh but not over done look, which I loved. Now to the best part. The food was absolutely, fantastically, awesome. Yes it was good enough to get a new word combo. The hot and sour soup that comes with the meal was very good and had a nice spicy warmth but not super spicy. I really don't prefer spicy foods although TUMS stock goes up if I do. Our main dishes were all fresh, hot (like just off the burner hot) and loaded with flavor. We were all able to get the spice level we wanted with no surprises. It seems lately like all of the Chinese places are becoming bland and flat with their flavors. Amy's did not have that problem at all. It is a little high price wise, but the food was well worth the cost. Checkout the pictures which show my Beef Pad Sew Ew, my wife's Pork Drunken Noodles, and our son's Pork Gang Gai (Red Curry)(medium spicy crazy kid.) If you love Thai food I'm betting you will love Amy's.

I was very impressed with Amy’s Thai! I’m a regular at a couple of other spots in town and I was nervous to try something new but I Will Go Back to Amy’s. Best Pot Stickers I’ve ever had and the Dinner came with a drink, nice surprise.

We ordered the Pad Thai, Shrimp Curry Pad Thai and some Pot Stickers to start. The food was fantastic. It hit the table piping hot and in no time at all. The service was very good. It's a family restaurant. Mom and Dad making it happen in the kitchen, and the adult kids out front taking care of business. Our servings were easily large enough for a full left over lunch. This is our favorite new Thai place.

Everything I’ve tried from Amy Thai is great! My favorite is probably the Pad Woon Sen with steamed tofu (medium hot), but I’ve had the Pad Thai, Green Curry, Red Curry, Pad Broccoli - all so good. The pork egg rolls are amazing, and I don’t even care for pork. It’s a must try!

Made my first visit today to this restaurant for it's yummy food! A quick, lunchtime nutritious treat that doesn't break the bank, and is superbly better than most other options in the neighborhood. I had the Pad Cashew w/ Chicken, medium heat. Thinking I will try hot next time. I was surprised that it came with a cup of soup. There's a sign on the counter that notes 15% off daily when paying with cash. I don't know any other restaurants that do this. I'll be sure to remember that for next time!

Update 27 Oct 23: I've brought my Dad here twice now, he loves this place, he says it is the best Thai he's ever had, and was quite impressed with the quality of the rice dish. This makes me very happy, as I've not always taken him to places he's enjoyed. So thank you very much for this excellent restaurant.

Absolutely phenomenal food and they always give great portion sizes(atleast in take out, I've never dined in). I always get the green curry , pad thai, crab Rangoon for the gf and a bunch of spring rolls. Can't recommend them enough!

The crispy wontons were good but the Basil Rice is extremely bland. All I could taste was oil and pepper. The portion is pretty big which is great but unfortunately I won't be eating this due to the complete lack of flavor. I live in Sterling Heights but I have not found a Thai restaurant in the area I like. I will continue to drive to Southfield for good Thai food.

It turns out they changed their menu so the one I used on their website was outdated. The gentleman on the phone told me the solution was for me to pick out the extra ingredients of mushroom and water chestnut. What a joke. No offer to remake or really give any care. Too many good thai places around, I won’t be back.

Had the crab rangoons, orange chicken and red curry. Crab rangoons come with 2 large pieces packed with cream cheese filling. Orange chicken was crisp and slightly sweet, none of that sickly syrupy taste. Red curry was pretty good as well. We asked for medium spicy, it had a kick of hotness without being overpowering. Curry’s flavor was there in terms of having depth, my only recommendation would be to add more variety of fresh veggies to the curry. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and would go back.

This was our go-to spot for Tai that last couple of years, but we will now never be back. We just got some carryout and my wife's food had dozens of fruit flies in it. Finding one is understandable, it happens. But Amy's clearly has a sanitary problem. Never had something so disgusting from a restaurant before.

The last time I ate here I wasn't very impressed (in 2020) but this time wowza. The food is delicious and the tofu is amazing. Delightful flavors and spice levels are perfect for me (I have other favorite Thai places which are not very spicy at all). 5 stars and I can't wait to go back. Only downside is they're more setup for takeout than dine in, so I wouldn't go there for the atmosphere/ambiance

Just stopped by for a quick bite and the food was great.
It had some good reviews so we decided to try it ourselves and we were not disappointed.
Smallish dining area with about 5 tables total but we did not have to wait. It looked like a lot of take outs as people were constantly coming in and out.
Our food came out shortly after we ordered and were very delicious. We ordered Pad Woon Sen and Pad Thai. Portions were very generous also.
I would consider this a good find and we'll definitely come back.

Everything from Amy's is delicious and...so fresh! My husband is adventurous in exploring various Thai foods, although I stick to the more standard pad Thai, and Amy's never disappoints. Then at some point I really read the menu and found Chinese options! I love the won ton soup - tasty! But, the almond boneless chicken...Yum, yum. No tired lettuce lining the plate - it's fresh and crisp. There's a generous sprinkling of almonds across the delish chicken. Brown sauce on the side to keep the breaded chicken crisp. I highly recommend Amy's!!

Honestly the best Thai I have ever had, it beast out any other local shop, and their portions are huge! One portion is about three days on average for me! It also is amazing day one, and reheats well!
I do think you van order a bit more spice. As I feel they move the spice laser down to an American palette, but the top end is really hot so be aware!
Also the staff are always plesenant and welcoming, it is family owned aswell!

Their portion sizes are worth the money. I highly recommend chicken pad Thai and orange chicken with fried rice. Also their spring rolls are to die for. They’re fresh and nicely crispy with a tangy sweet & sour sauce. It’s the best food and I highly recommend

The food is delicious, the service is kind and friendly, and they were accommodating and helpful regarding a vegetarian/picky eater in our group.

I bought the Pad Sew-ew with shrimp. Fresh large shrimp and broccoli but wish the see ew noodles were wider. Very quick service and friendly people. 4 stars for atmosphere because temperature is hot in the restaurant, please turn up the air conditioning.

So hard to find good Thai food around here but this place is beyond delicious!! So thankful for them! We try new foods from there all the time and it never disappoints!

so glad I did. My Pad Thai with chicken was delicious. The portion was great, price was good and the service was good as well. I will definitely be returning, they have made a new customer.

If you like Thai food and are in the Detroit metro area you need to go to this place!!!!
The food is very good!
This time we ordered the eggplant, yellow curry and pineapple fried rice.
We went in saying we wouldn't eat that much but ate a ton and still had leftovers.
The staff are very welcoming and make you feel right at home.
The dine in area is smaller but makes it cozy and personal.

Recommended by friends and tried for first time. We ordered carryout there. The order came quickly. The amount we received was generous and tasty. We definetly will be back.

Our favorite Thai restaurant! The food is consistently excellent. We love the Gang Pak with scallops (C4 on the menu). The owner is awesome as is the chef. Great family owned operation!

Great tasting Thai food but I ordered Pad almond and got cashews. Cashews get soft when mixed in. I hate that. Didn't know they put cashews in until I got home because this was a take out meal. Maybe the person cooking that day didn't know the difference between almonds and cashews? Maybe they thought I wouldn't know the difference? They were very wrong.

Best place in town. The only Thai restaurant I will eat up here. I know I'm just from Florida but every other Thai restaurant up here is mixed with other things this is the most authentic Thai restaurant there is you have to come

This is a tiny restaurant with a surprisingly nice atmosphere., quiet music and nice decor. They were able to make recommendations and slightly alter the food to match my diet. I was so happy!

I love pad Thai/Thai food. Been hard finding a good little family owned place(since they seem to be the real deal) since l moved here. If you like real Thai order it hot and not med hot. Med was just a hint of spicy.
