Couldn't even get my order for lunch. Ordered it a half hr before my lunch at work, got a message it was ready for pick up. Boy was that wrong. Got there and waited for 35 mins they still didn't have my order ready. I only get a half hr lunch break.. so no food pregnant and unhappy. If you try and pick up food for lunch at work good luck. Won't be back! Also, they took the money out of my account when I asked for a refund and didn't receive my food. $42.27 please refund my money!

Service was excellent. Food was good! Egg rolls are super crispy and a bit heavy. Not the thin wonton wrapper style. The thi selections are good. The serving sizes are larger. The dumplings were a bit too crispy for my liking but still tasty. I prefer a nice softer dumpling not one with hard edges. Again that’s just personal preference. I will eat here again. It’s not out of this world awesome but it is good enough for done late night eats. The staff were extremely nice and the restaurant was clean and well taken care of.

The chicken was nice and light and chrispy! The Koa pad had a little kick to it but was delicious! Definitely coming back!

Clean, well lit, fast, and friendly service. We bought a round of appetizers to see what it was like and we weren't disappointed! The Spring Rolls, Egg Rolls, and Chicken Wings were all exceptional.

We ordered egg rolls, and although I've had better, they were still good and a nice size.
Our main meal was an order of sweet and sour chicken, which was a nice size portion. We also had an order of Mo Shu Pork. Again, portion size was very good. This had a great taste. I'd reorder this again.
I'm looking forward to eating here again sometime.

Pho Zap is spicy and their Thai iced coffee was excellent. Now, I get that we have inflation but before they changed owners for a family of 4 we always had a lot of left over. Now it seems like you get very little for the price. Might not order as much as we used to

This used to be Egg Roll House. Just recently Rock N Thai took ownership of the restaurant. While there is no Kimchi at Rock N Thai, the food here is also delicious!

Rock N Thai has different locations, including Grand Haven, Holland, and Zeeland and all are equally delicious. The unique thing about the Norton Shores location is that they also serve select popular Egg Rolls House dishes and a Cajun style soup.

Just went today and learned it is no longer the egg roll house my favorite restaurant. It is a new place even though the sign still says egg roll house and I was not impressed with the new food. Will not be going back. Did not care for the food and it cost more and get less food.

First time customers. Got take out. The online prices have not been updated. Therefore, our bill was much higher than anticipate. Food was meh.

I visit here when I come up from Florida since about 27 years ago, since I was a child. The food never disappoints and it's just like I remember it. I had the sweet and sour pork lunch special with a crab rangoon and a huge egg roll, and also the spiced sour soup. All of it was very good.

Also, I'm sorry about the old folks behind me who ordered the mongolian beef and sent it back today. I would have gladly bought it but I doubt that buying someone's sent back food would be something you could do. I almost ordered mongolian beef so I will get that next time. :) But I'm not sure if I'll be back this year. Of course I'd like to.

By the way everything I ordered was only 12.75. I made sure to give her a 20% tip. What a great deal.

I ate here based of a recommendation. When I called my food in, the person who answered the phone was extremely kind and knowledgeable. I've never eaten from here before, so this was my first time trying the food. I got the chicken with broccoli and crab rangoons, unfortunately it was the worst tasting food I've had here in Muskegon. The chicken tasted like it was from a can, the sauce had a pungent taste, and the rangoons had very little filling. I had to throw the food away, it was inedible. All in all, the customer service was good but the food wasn't.

Egg foo young was inedible and made COMPLETELY backward. No soy sauce to try and fix the awful taste. What a waste of $35

First time I’d ever gone this place was wonderful. All of a sudden lately the food is undercooked badly. The outside of the general tso was mushy after I had just gotten it freshly picked up. Last time I ate in there it was the same result. For how expensive their food is it has been massively underwhelming.

This place is NOT good! Especially for the price! The owner is RUDE and thinks he’s entitled, not even a smile, a hello or a goodbye let alone a thank you. I will NEVER go back~ don’t waste your time or money on this place. My husband I both got the General Tsos Chicken- it was nothing but mush and the chicken so gross! It was supposed to be HOT and it had 0 flavor! I’d rather eat a nasty frozen White Castle burger! Eat at your own risk- ⛔️

The jam bong soup [Jjamppong / Jjampong] was delicious. Rich broth with various seafood, vegetables and noodles. Afraid that the spice level would be on a Thai level, I ordered mild and requested additional chili oil to adjust to my taste. Yum!

Will never eat here again. Hospital food has more flavor.

I’ve heard nothing but great things, and so we decided to try egg roll house! Sadly we were all very disappointed. The food was bland and over cooked. The flavors were odd and nothing like I’ve tried from other Chinese places. We paid a hell of a lot of money for food that was awful. Such a bummer would NOT recommend!

Food is good. The waitress Linda is very, very rude! She has a terrible attitude and will argue with customers. She also talks bad about the owners and other employees. Very unprofessional! The blonde haired waitress named Lotta is super sweet and very attentive to customers.

Sadly to say, I am so so sick from eating the Sweet and Sour chicken from here last night. I spent almost $40 on 2 meals and some egg rolls.. just to be violently ill all night and still this morning. I’m extremely disappointed simply because I used to love this place and ate there regularly (18 years ago!)
Really has gone downhill. Either food quality or food handling needs to improve. I won’t ever go back

Favorite place to get Chinese food!

This is our favorite spot whether for dine in or carry out. Excellent food!

Got the lunch combination plate, general tso’s chicken. Was given white rice instead of pork fried. Mushy, too much sauce on chicken, not crispy. Skin fell right off chicken. My roommate got it as well and we threw it out. Will not be returning.

This place doesn't deserve any stars the food was awful we ordered egg drop soup I don't know what they bought but it wasn't egg drop soup let's just say everything we ordered was awful my advice is don't eat there you won't be happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite place in the whole world!

I had takeout. I got fried wontons and after I ate 1 I broke the rest open to see if there was anything in them and there wasn't. I had crabmeat ragoons with hardly anything left in them. Then I got lobster sauce shrimp and I'm still wondering what is was because it looked more like mushroom soup yuck. I also got egg rolls and that was the only thing good. I used to eat there all the time years ago and they always had great quality food and now it's poor quality now. I'll never go back again.

Extremely expensive, inedible food. The sesame chicken was mushy. The sweet and sour chicken smelled like vinegar and came with a vinegar smelling brown sauce. Never have I ever seen brown “sweet and sour” sauce. It was also rather mushy and some how tasted worse than it smells. Crab Rangoons taste like uncooked flour. The egg roll and hot and sour soup were the only edible dishes. Not great by any means but compared to the rest they were good. Or at least good enough. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

Food was not very flavorful.

The staff is very friendly. I will try this place again as the meal that I ordered this time was quite simple and it was not as good as I expected, but I do believe that if I had ordered something else it would have been better.

Though the portion sizes are good, we were very disappointed in the taste. The chicken and broccoli, Lomien and the shrimp and scallops all were pale in color and lack flavor. It was as if they thickened the sauce without adding any seasoning or soy. It gave all the food a very bland taste. Even the kids weren’t interested in eating it. Such is life $70 in the trash.

Have been in search of a good Chinese restaurant lunch special in Muskegon. Tried this place today, good price but food not edible. Mushy chicken that tasted VERY sweet with mushy peas and carrots that obviously were of the frozen type; no fresh veggies here! Overall, the entire meal tasted old and yucky; most of it went in the trash.
Pretty empty restaurant for lunchtime; I should have known better! Surprised they are still in business.

Delicious food, I'd like to say Cantonese style but I'm unsure. They have their own flair. Nothing exciting, but it hits the spot, as the saying goes. I usually get takeout. Place looks very shop- worn.

I choose not to eat here because the food is not authentic and it does not taste good. I have given this establishment more than one opportunity we all know that Chinese food is priced way high anyway and the money is not worth the food!

This was unfortunately the worst Chinese food I've had. Chinese food is my go to and I've tried a lot. The people were friendly enough but the food was disappointing and I didn't even keep my leftovers because I didn't want to eat it again.

Great food and awesome service

I ate there today and the older waitress who has worked there forever was very rude. I requested a straw and she stated "she would get it in due time "I stated I needed one now for my water. She walked away stating "I'm done with you". When she brought my entree, she said nothing , just flopped it on the table. Never once returning to see if everything was good or did I want a refill on my beverage. I understand everyone has a bad day. But, she is constantly rude whenever you go in there. I recommend if she dislikes her job this much she should just quit. She has a terrible attitude for customer service.

Got my order wrong.

I went here with a friend of mine there was a cockroach crawling up the wall and the sauce was watered down. And worst of all there egg rolls tasted like it was used with reused oli. DONT WAST YOUR MONEY HERE!

Tried to call to place an order for takeout 20 minutes before their info says takeout is done and no one even picks up. Tried calling twice.

Egg roll, crab rangoons and fried rice are good here, but the entrees are terrible. I’ve tried to like it, as there are not many decent choices for Chinese in Muskegon, and have tried many things, but they don’t make traditional dishes in the way you would expect. Tonight I am trying the beef and broccoli. The meat is light brown (is this really beef?) and the sauce - one would expect it to be brown and savory - is the color of snot and has no taste whatsoever. The food looks - and tastes - like somebody ran it through the washing machine! I am done trying to find anything decent to eat here!

Food was mushy and warm, I asked for my chicken crispy/well done,well it was almost done, the breading came off all the chicken. Rice tasted like it came out of a bag from Walmart. Money wasted will never return will never recommend👎🏽 The woman who took my order was very nice.

It's Muskegon... so in a large city this place probably wouldn't make it on their food alone. But their staff is always friendly and dine-in and take-out are always hot, good quality, and "Midwest spicy". The Korean dishes here outshine everything else on the menu by far.

The management told me I couldn't return a plate because it was expensive even though it is not what was described on the menu then told me I should have asked my server what was in it. The food was nasty but my server was nice.

The. Best. For Chinese food in West Michigan, hands down. Family run and in business well over 20 years. Dining in with family style dishes to share is the way to go, too many favorites to list but can’t miss with the Mongolian beef, or the “Sticky Chicken wings”. Great service with low turnover in front of house while Mr. and Mrs. Kim or consummate hosts and have become family friends. 5 Stars!

Mother was given the wrong meal...Asked for a chicken dish and given a veggie dish. Didn't correct issue. Food was pretty tasteless...just very bland...Not what we are used to...Very disappointing. It used to be a nice place to eat at one time.

So 1st of all online it says lunch is 11am-3pm I call at 2:50 and they tell me lunch is over so I have to order a regular size. Ok whatever even though my order at 3pm I go pick it up and I can tell by the smell this is not the Sweet and Sour chicken I am used to. All around disappointing. Will not be ordering from here again.

The waitress was very friendly and appreciative of us coming in to dine. The food came out quickly and was great. I had the General Tso's Chicken. I even had the option of having mild, hot, of very hot. I had it very hot and it ended up being mild for me. I love hot food. My awesome waitress brought me some hot sauce to help spice it up some more. I loved it. The flavor was perfect, and the portion size was generous for the price. I'd highly recommend the Egg Roll House.

Very very good like a hidden gem

I visited on 4/19/20. From Detroit so I'm so used to really good food, especially Chinese food. Grand Rapids, Wyoming-MI, and now Muskegon NEED a good Chinese food take-out. I bought the sweet and sour chicken and shrimp fried rice, paid $18.93, and it was NOT good or worth the money. The S&S sauce was hot but the chicken was cold giving me the impression that they sold me old chicken with fresh sauce. The rice was okay, rather bland somehow; the tiny shrimp were in pieces (so not whole). Also, they didn't fill the container with chicken, there was about half an inch of space at the top. Last, b/c of their name, I THOUGHT maybe their gimmick would be you get a free egg roll with every order or something, I EXPECTED a special or discount on egg rolls, but nope. 2 for $2.80! Overall, for the money, I most definitely expected better.

Fantastic food, quick to order for both takeout and in restaurant. I've ordered so many things off this menu over the years, and they're all been great. One of my favorite restaurants in the Muskegon area.

Most the time the service is kind and courteous, although there has been a few times in the past it could've been better. Not bad enough for me not to return. The owner have been serving great Chinese food in the Muskegon area for many years. The best Chinese food you will ever find. Egg rolls yummy, Chinese vegetables and steamed rice, the best. Very clean restaurant, nice owner and servers. If you have not been here, you are missing out. Go here.
