3-Star Review: Decent Food, But Poor Service and Cleanliness
We stopped by for lunch. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating for both small and large groups, though the tables are a bit small.
As vegetarians, we appreciated that they made substitutions for us, but the server lacked menu knowledge. Every question we asked had to be relayed to the chef.
Here’s what we ordered:
• Tom Yum Soup: Very tasty.
• Dang Penang Curry with Tofu: Decent but on the sweeter side.
• Thai Mango Tofu: Way too sweet for our liking.
• Basil Fried Rice: Just okay. There was hardly any basil, mostly large stems.
We asked for plates to share, and were given tiny saucers. When we asked for larger plates, the server said they don’t have big dinner plates, and only had a few quarter plates left, which they had to save for other reasons.
The service was disappointing. The staff were stingy with napkins, and when we asked for more, they said four napkins were enough for four people. We had a few leftovers and asked for three boxes, but the server seemed annoyed and made us feel uncomfortable.
Cleanliness was a major issue. The restroom was dirty, had no hand soap, and the toilet paper holder was broken, causing the rolls to fall on the floor. I’d give cleanliness 2 stars, and only 1 star for the restroom.
Overall, the food was decent but nothing special, and the service and cleanliness need significant improvement.
Hands down some of the best Pho I've ever had. I ordered the beef and brisket pho and it was great. The broth was so flavorful I could have just sipped the broth by itself and enjoyed it . Fresh basil, jalapeno and bean sprouts on the side to add. Rice rolls were freshly made and a refreshing appetizer. The Thai tea came in a large glass and was cold , sweet and delicious. You have to try the coconut mango sticky rice. Service was great, our waiter was friendly and prompt with taking our order and getting our food out to us. We received our food within less than 10 minutes of sitting down. My friend ordered the pad see ew and that was great as well. The bathroom needed a little love but this is a mom and pop shop.
Wow! We were looking for vegan food in Holland and we got a recommendation for this place. The pho is superb! Especially on a cold, snowy day! We ate here twice over the weekend. Will be back here every time we visit. Note that it has basic, diner vibes. This is not an upscale restaurant.
Excellent Vietnamese restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, server very friendly and attentive and the food was very good. I had the beef combo pho, the spring rolls and my wife had the green curry. The spring rolls weren't the best but they were ok. The pho was very good and the curry was good if a little sweet. Would definitely come again.
Great little restaurant. Chicken Pho was declious. Go easy on the Chilli oil. A little will be too much. Wholesome meal and good vibes. Didn't care for the K Pop playing in the background. They had the most delicious Chicken satay I've ever had. So good. The peanut sauce that goes with the satay was good too. I would go here again. Definitely recommend!
The interior of the restaurant is quite basic, and service is fairly rushed, but the food was great. I ordered the fresh spring rolls and a regular sized order of beef pho with tendon and tripe. It was all great and fresh tasting. The spring rolls came with two different dipping sauces which offered a nice variety of flavors. The regular size of the pho was very generous, and the broth was beautifully flavored. Lots of herbs and spices in the mix make the beef pho quite complex, and it made an excellent lunch. It’s kind of refreshing to see that some of the basic Asian restaurants are still around making great food.
Excellent. Top notch pho and everything else!
Great food, service can be better for taking out orders. I ordered pho to go and they forgot sauce,, for asian people common sense to eat this with sauce , hoisin and saracha...I had to check my bag and ask...I didn't check on time and the soup taste like shit.. but I checked my bag tonight ...I'm good 👍
Best Pho around

Fantastic pho!
Curry rice and pad thai were very good. I'm not a big spice fan, so a spice level 3 just brings a tear to the eye.
Pho broth had no taste just plain waste of my money never going back
Little hole in the wall. Which is nothing less than amazing. The chicken stay and drunken noodles are my fav😍🤤
Amazing fresh Thai food.

They make some good curry!
Low key, my girlfriend likes their cucumber salad too.
Good pho! Their fried rice could use some work.
Great taste, big portions. Very good.
The best Pad Thai I’ve had in ages. My wife got the Pad Kee Mao which was also wonderful.
absolutely love the food, staff is nice and patient, favorite restaurant fr try it out! 10/10 experience would try again
This place has the best pho on the whole west coast of Michigan. I moved from San Diego and my heart was set on finding a good pho place near me to eat. Guess what, I found it! It’s this place right here. And right next door, if you want something sweet, is a boba place. They offer many different kinds of drinks. Check out my review for it!
Great food at reasonable prices!
Bad service charged different price when pick up orders
Bad service
We’ve been your customer since your opening. But your service and attitude have been really rude and unprofessional.
We were ordering as a group. You think one person can eat 4 dishes at a time?
Some $6-$7 doesn’t matter to us. It’s the transparency and integrity. No one wants to harm your business. We are showing you customer’s feedbacks are valuable and you need to take them seriously.
If you have time to argue with your customers. We do have time also. As customers, we have the right to request better service and we also have the right to voice our opinions and share our reviews
I was charged $6 more than the prices listed on the website. When I brought this to their attention, they refused to reimburse me. Owner, please update your prices accordingly.
Getting take out today
If you like thai food, this is a must stop .we went twice
Lowkey my favourite restaurant in Holland. I go here like once a week.
This negative review is for the horrible service and first time experience, and not the quality of the food because we left the restaurant without ordering any food to be fair.
My friend, his wife, and myself came in Sunday late afternoon on 5/12 with 3 kids as we were craving pho and we have never been to this restaurant before in Holland, MI so we figured it was worth a try. We are an Asian family and once all 3 kids sat down on one of the round tables, they were trying to learn and play with the chopsticks while we waited.
One of the staff came over and very rudely told us to have the kids stop clapping their chopsticks together because it was making too loud of a “noise”and that “we were disturbing the other customers”. The staff member said this to us in front of everyone in his restaurant and said it loudly in a condescending manner in front of us and the kids.
As soon as he said that to us, we did not feel comfortable giving this restaurant any of our business anymore because we feel like they don’t respect their customers. We immediately left without ordering any food. If you’re looking for Pho in the Holland, MI area…stay away from this place if you value being treated with respect and decency.
The restaurant is good but why charged us auto tips without telling us. We came with 4 adults and 1 kid. I’m not sure the rule but usually it is applied for group more than 6 people. This secretly added gratitude doesn’t seem to be right. BE CAREFUL

Had the pad woon sen with chicken. Absolutely top notch.
This is my favorite dinner place in town. The food is always excellent.
Great food and great service.
Great food.
The food is delicious, but the customer service is horrible. I was told when I came in to dine in I didn’t realized they changed it up a bit, they added a sign in front door that said please wait to be seated. But they had it so close to the entry way you can barely read the sign. And the one of the workers was rude and made whole scene and told me to read next time and had not only me and guest embarrassed but also the other fellow customers in there uncomfortable.
Not goos for smells terrible and taste terrible. Also super unsanitary the put the chop sticks were everyone touches them so that means other people's germs are all over your chop sticks and then they use same spoon for chili oil so I can dip that spoon into the bowl im eating and then place it back and the next customer will do that same that's disgusting not a fan first and last time here
My family and I are addicted to this place. The food is made promptly and the all the dishes are the most delicious, seasoned perfectly!! I tell everyone I know if they want good Thai food this is the place to eat!!
Luv this place 😘, best Thai food ever, Thank you, for being the best
Chicken larb is my favorite!! Mango sticky rice!! Everything here is excellent, truly my favorite place to eat, Thank you guys for being the best 🙏❤️😊
Totally delicious food, great service
Got Pad Thai at a 4 out of 6 on their spice scale. While it does have heat it has no flavor. The portions are large and the service was fast but the taste of the food is lacking. Coworkers fried rice was mushy, seemed reheated. Crab Rangoons were chewy as if they were reheated and very little filling. The egg rolls were forgotten on the order, but after tasting the Rangoon we figured that was for the best.
They OVERCHARGED us on the tips!!!
I was totally shocked when I saw my credit card statement. They changed the amount I put down as the tips on the receipt! How could that happen? This is a STEALING!!
Luckily I saved my receipt so I called the credit card dispute center and filed a case. But I still can’t believe this happened to me. They must have done that to others as well!
Besides, we felt sick both of times after we ate there! Feels like the food is full of MSG or something else that makes us feel extremely thirsty and upset stomach! Although the food tasted good at the moment.
Be careful with this restaurant! They change the tips amount by themselves without asking you!
Never go back again for sure!
Totally UNETHICAL!!!!👎🏻
I really enjoyed the pho here! The regular size was enough food for me as someone with a smaller appetite. The beef was very tender and the broth was perfect for a rainy fall day. I would recommend the Thai Iced Tea over the Thai Iced Coffee because the thai tea was very creamy whereas the coffee wasn’t that strong and tasted mostly sweet. There is ample parking and boba next door! My friends got the chicken satay and egg rolls and enjoyed them as well (especially the peanut sauce that the satay comes with).
Me and my husband have been to this place several times when we were in town. We live 45 miles away. Today we went for dinner. My husband ordered Thai mango chicken and I have chicken pho. I noticed my husband didn't seem to enjoy the meal. I had a bite of the chicken it was hard it was overcooked ( coated and deep-fried). I called the server to change the chicken he said wouldn't be changed because the chicken had been prepared, and precooked in that way then I told him I would like to order something else. He took the chicken dish away and brought the new dish which was noodles with gravy. He brought the bill right aways and we were charged for the chicken that was bad. I asked why we had to pay for it he said we ate the chicken. OMG, we had only 2 bites. I was so up that I paid the bill and told him we would never come back again. I have been working in an American restaurant for 6 years. This was not the right way to treat customers and they wanted to come back.
I ordered basil fried rice . That was one of the worst basil fried rice I ever had . There were only two basil leaves found with lot of Sticky rice and tastes very bad .I won’t recommend any kinda of fried rice from this place
The food was not well prepared compared to other East Asian eating I've had - and I've had a lot. My dish was swimming in some kind of peanut butter sauce and was overly rich. The service was a little too curt for my taste, and the bathrooms were *disgusting* - I walked in, took one look (and one sniff), and walked right back out. There are other and much better East Asian restaurants in the area. Go to any of those instead.
This is some of the best vietnamese I've had in a while. My husband had the Pho and was so good. I had the yellow curry and the curry was perfect.
I’ve had better fried rice at my high school cafeteria. It had the gluey/sticky consistency of being cooked hours earlier and microwaved hot. It was 90% rice with only small portions of vegetables.
I can't believe in this area there is a hidden gem for Authentic Asian restaurant.
We ordered Pho, papaya salad and other two courses and they all came out better than expected.
Highly recommended and we will definitely come back when we visit this city next year.
Thank you 😊
Driving through and stopped in holland for the night on our way up north. Honestly some of the best pad Thai and pho I’ve had in the entire US. Family run establishment, grandpa made my pad Thai and grandson was our server. So friendly and attentive. Pad Thai was garlicky and just absurdly flavorful. Clearly everything made with love. Gf got the pho and the broth was herbaceous and rivaled any I’ve tasted. Not sure why this place is only 4.4 as it should be a straight 5. I would fly to holland from colorado just to eat here. Insanely good.
Peanut curry noodle is unreal. Owners/wait staff are awesome & helpful. We make it a point to visit at least once a week.
This place was amazing. Authentic Thai food. Ordered spring rolls for appetizers and it came with delicious peanut sauce. Entree I ordered Thai curry stir fry and was not disappointed with flavor! We are from Knoxville TN and have lots of Thai restaurants and this was right up with the best I have had. This would be a great place to get takeout or delivery!
Exactly what is claims to be. Pho broth is one of the best I’ve ever had. Gets busy so patience is required.
Customers beware went there on the 22 of July. And if you pay with card they will add the tip even if you tip with cash. Call and complained was told they will add a 15% tip to your total.
Had a bad experience when they first opened a few years ago so I decided to give them another try. Ordered xlarge beef pho, large beef pho, fried rice, one order sticky rice and egg rolls.
First of all, we never got the sticky rice my daughter wanted. The egg rolls were the best part of our order. For $50 this was a major let down!
Fried rice was loaded with fish sauce, to the point it was a creamy color. My 4 yr old asked if the chicken in it was fish!
Pho was the worst I have ever had and the meatballs were white. You could just tell the flavor wasn't there. Like they threw water into the bowl and served it. No ginger or star anise flavor at all.
For a place with Pho in the name, one would expect more of an authentic taste. Very disappointed... won't ever go back!
If you want the best Pho in Holland, this is the Mekong is the place!!! They have the best Spring Rolls and chicken on a Stick. The pho 25 is the one I like, it's the combo Pho and has everything in it. Shrimp, Beef, Sausage, Tendon, Calamari, Tripe and I add bean sprouts, jalapeno and hot oil.
Superb
Egg rolls were bad. Tasted rotten. Ordered pho soup. Could not eat ot. Noodles stuck together. Broth was salty and not authentic. Left meals uneaten.
Very good thai dishes, however we have had better.
Best pho is West Michigan PERIOD! Don't waste your time going anywhere else. The quality is top-notch! I bring all my friends here and visitors.
The taste is always there, yes you add more things to it but yet I’ve been to places no sauce can fix. They have different size options on pho bowls! Great service always friendly. Every time we come back home to michigan we always stop and eat pho even in the hot weather.
Pros: Great service. The restaurant is spacious and clean.
Cons: the Pho is too light on flavor and smell. It doesn't taste like Pho at times and more like Hủ tiếu. The QR code menu doesn't even point to the menu.
Restaurant may not be crowded in normal time. Therefore, service people are less considering the capacity. As we had been there during tulip time a little bit crowded and to wait for half an hour to get seat.
Ok taste and lovely place! The only issues for me is the food that we ordered contain red color! Red color Pad Thai and Red color fried rice looks unappetizing for me! But the taste is better than the looks!
Best Vietnam food i ever had, even though it doesn't look like it from outside.
I ordered the pad see ew and the kao piak sen and was really excited to try this place until I got home and noticed there was bugs in my kao piak sen. CHECK YOUR FOOD!!!! They looked small like it could be seasoning, but when I looked closer I noticed they had wings and antennas. I felt so disgusted and instantly throwed it all away. They were very hard to notice because they were tiny!! I could have ate all of it and not even noticed if I wasn’t paying attention. I’ve seen other reviews say they’ve also found bugs and worms in theirs as well so please guys, check your food. Will never eat here again.
Found a worm in our food and only got a refund for the one pho. The pho was good but was disgusting to find out what we were eating… felt extremely sick after. The owner was rude and tried to say that the worm was not a worm. And refused to give us more than $10 back.
Not disability friendly
Screw this place I ordered their pho and spring rolls, either one or maybe both gave me food poisoning to the point where I had to go to urgent care because I couldn’t even keep water or food down, I was so dehydrated.
Take-out order was ready on time, still hot when I got home, and everything was excellent.
The pho broth is very rich and flavorful
Great authentic food but they also offer a variety of typical Americanized dishes. The service is pretty quick, especially at lunch. Kid-friendly but like a lot of restaurants, the high chairs need a good wipe-down, however the buckles usually aren't broken.
No bean sprouts in rice noodle.
Asked not to put cilantro, but tastes in rolls.
One of the better thai joints to be found in any weird west michigan town. Green curry and papaya salad is fire!
Great food. Good prices. We eat here whenever we come to Holland to get Asian groceries.
Love the food. It always hits the spot. Order online and ready for pick up almost immediately.
This is going to be THE best pho soup you will ever taste. Best in town! I used grub hub and I am a pho soup foodie so I choose this based off of the reviews. The broth was heavenly and The ingredients were fresh and the freshness of the food itself still leaves its aroma in my place. I bought the large size and I still have one more helping for tomorrow which I will look forward too. They packed the ingredients very nicely and all of the flavors will stay with you. I also bought the crab Rangoons and the sauce is good and best crab Rangoon evvver. I cannot wait to order from them again and if you are looking for a good pho soup you won’t find it better anywhere else.
The two male waiters were very disrespectful they were giving me attitude the entire time I was there. Also when I was checking my bag I saw that they forgot the sircha and hosin sauce and when I went to ask them for the sauce they wanted to charge me…
the best Pho in Holland. if you want Pho, this is the place to go. they also have lots of other good food.
Best Pho and they Have amazing Pad Cashew
The people who work there are also friendly, definitely check this place out
Great food, large portions; staff is friendly and competent.
Good tasty ~~
Spring rolls, chicken Pho and pad kee mao were delicious, fresh and hot. Attentive waiter and food came out fast! I will be going back.
Good food bad service
A really unassuming place in a strip mall, but it was the BEST Pho I’ve ever had. The spring rolls had amazing sauces. The papaya salad was perfect and my moms bun was flavorful and amazing. But this pho? The broth was impeccably seasoned and you can tell cooked a long long time!
Amazing food! We ordered the spring rolls, the fried tofu, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and the mango sticky rice -- everything was excellent! Some of the best Thai we've ever had.... and we eat a lot of Thai.
I love curry, I havent had it in a long time. Amazing.
Surprisingly good! Well made food. Not too expensive. Authentic.
I had a take out. Pad thai does not taste like pad thai. It was terrible. I ordered additional chicken and I had to search for chicken in the pile of noodles. My meal consisted of 98% noodles. The restaurant really has to work on learning how to make pad thai. I have ordered this dish from many restaurants before and this was the worst pad thai so far! Crab Rangoons had stale texture, but the taste was ok. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Good Pho. Good service even when they are not busy.
It smelled delightful when we walked in. Great food, and a wonderful experience. It's a little surprising because it is so unassuming from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised with how great the food was.
I've had the Pho here plenty of times and its been great. I have also had it door dashed many times as well with other hot dishes. The food is phenomenal. Cooked, hot, and the service is always great. When we door dash it is always delivered hot and well packaged. Its like we ordered it in person. Out of the many Vietnamese options out there, I believe this is the best one for price, location, and taste in the city. A nice gem!
Worst restaurant. We went 3 families, and they were not even responding to our request for a table. Even after we went to the counter and tried to talk, the cashier was just ignoring us. Felt like they don’t wanted us in the restaurant. We felt humiliated. We had kids with us who were hungry. And this restaurant workers were so arrogant. Too bad.
Random lunch while on vacation
We plan to go back tomorrow
Very nice people and food was tasty
Regular here. Great service and authentic food
Very good Pho. Thai tea is refreshing. Great prices.
Awesome pad Thai! Also spring rolls, and fried rice, chicken satay… actually you need to come here a few times to get them all.
This place was a favorite of mine but me and my bf got pho & BOTH of our bowls had bugs in it not one but multiple that you could clearly see were bugs WINGS & ALL & they claimed it was garlic from the chili oil , did not offer to comp our meal or anything. Will not be going back again
Hands down the best pho I have ever had , even better than what I had in hawaii
The best you're going to get in Holland guaranteed. This restaurant is consistent, reliable and fast. I'm treated like family every time I go in, I cannot recommend Pho Mekong enough.
Really good pho and spring rolls
Ever since our Oregon to Michigan move, we've been missing our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. We finally found one here that we love and literally planned a whole weekend getaway to the Holland area just to go eat there. Thanks, guys! We'll be back!
Very good food.....super friendly staff. Best pho in town, trust me been to them all many times.
Love this place! I always leave super satisfied and Happy! Must come and check it out!
Good place for pho.
Such and nice place to eat delicious Thai food with the family. The staff is always so kind and helpful as well!
Quality tasty food and more than reasonable prices. Don't pass it up!
We were looking for great Asian food for takeaway on Christmas Eve and Pho Mekong was just perfect! Ordered the vegetable delight, the red Penang curry, the green curry, and the veg lo mein, and we loved all of it! Would definitely look forward to this if I'm ever back in this area.
Decent pho in good time
We’ve visited several times, always a five star experience! Helpful and friendly staff, always so attentive. Menu is very diverse, but we always return to the pho. Perfect noodles, exceptionally savoury broth - such comfort food! Looking forward to our next visit!
Great food, nice people, and very generous portions!
My wife and I ordered just before close. Food was still amazing, fresh, hot! Def going back again! Great food.
Awesome food, at great price. Try the Fresh spring rolls!
Great Pho and spring rolls.
Service was very friendly and quick. A nice quiet spot for a work lunch.
The food is so delicious.
Was really impressed with the food here. Definitely worth giving a try
Wonderful service and awesome food! Great Pho soul and there pork meatballs are so yummy! Definitely a place to drive out of the way for!
Awsome food and service stop here 👍
Food tasted off in both dishes.
Great food and service!! Ordered take away and enjoyed the Spring Rolls and Chicken Pad Thai. Look forward to returning.
Great food.
Chicken satay
Mango curry chicken
Great food and great service
Great service and good food
Got the pho with beef and brisket. The meat tasted like they dug it out the back of the freezer... the broth was good but the meat was just so so bad it kinda ruined it.
Delicious as always!
The green curry was delicious. The thai drunken noodles left a lot to be desired. Over all it was a nice place to enjoy a meal. A lot of good veggies, not enough thai basil. I would go back. No sticky rice, not nearly spicy enough, but its a dutch community.
Pho has no flavor, no pho paste to add flavor, ordered beef larb and they brought me what looked like ground turkey.
This my uneducated American opinion - I’ve never eaten Thai food outside of the US so I can’t speak for authenticity but this place is really good! Siri Thai’s pad Thai is slightly better but Pho Mekong is a hard second in the Holland area and it’s right next to the boba tea place. Our food was hot, delicious and generous enough to split a small portion out for each of our toddlers. I ordered pick up over the phone and did not eat in the restaurant but I encountered 3 staff members who were all extremely friendly. The prices are better than other places nearby!
