Familiar Thai fare like spring rolls, noodles & curries served in a little, homey space.
Cute Thai place, close to Frederik Meijer Gardens and was the perfect place to come for lunch. The waiter was very helpful and had a lot of knowledge about the menu. We got the Basil Curry and Peanut Passion noodle dish with spring rolls and the soup of the day, spicy mango soup. All of the food was delicious and authentic. We wish we lived closer, next time we are back we will come here for lunch!
Amazing! All our food was hot, and not "stuck under a heat lamp" hot. They were very accommodating of my husband's dairy allergy and request to swap coconut milk in to a recipe. Some of the best fried rice I've ever had. Our two year old loved the chicken satay and white rice. Veggies were nice and fresh, not sad soggy and limp. One of the best meals I've had in a while.
Excellent food and a great attentive staff. Everyone is very friendly and does not make you feel rushed. The quality of the food is second to none. If you decide to order your food spicy hot 🌶 let me tell you. When you order hot, it comes out super hot! Loved it. Thank you guys! Beautiful and clean restaurant as well. Perfect for date night or anytime.
My experience here was phenomenal. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the inside was clean and tidy. I ordered the Mama’s Noodle Soup and it surely has a flavor profile that will have me going back for seconds. Reasonably priced for the serving sizes. You are also served the “soup of the day” with each meal which I thought to be a nice perk!
I highly recommend checking this place out for unforgettable Thai cuisine. Happy eating! Enjoy!
The food here is really good. I also really appreciate their proactive response to my shellfish allergy. Check them out! I highly recommend the crispy rolls!
My wife and I have been coming here for years. It's always delicious and the service is great. Price is good too. I always order the chicken curry fried rice.
One last thing, if you ask for your food spicy (especially fire level), they WILL deliver. So choose your spice level wisely! 🥵😋

This place is charming and the food and service were dynamite! They even have purse bins for next to the table!

In my opinion this is the best Thai place in NE Grand Rapids. It's our go to take out restaurant
Good food and it's consistent. One of two Thai restaurants we like.
Met a friend here for lunch before our planned outing to nearby Meijer Gardens. I ordered Masamun with tofu, which is my standard Thai order and it was excellent! My friend ordered Pad Thai and a Thai iced tea, and was quite happy with her order as well. The restaurant was very clean and charming, and the service was friendly. Now I am only sad that I live so far away and won't be able to visit again soon!
The peanut curry dish was among the best Thai in the area. This is a top level Thai restaurant.
Lovely family business, nice people, great food. My family has been coming for years. The only thing I wish is that they would not “dumb down” the spice levels for American customers. I love spicy food, and the medium used to fry my face off. Medium spice is now barely mild. I don’t mind adjusting my order to make it spicier, but I’m always afraid to do that in case the chef goes back to his original ways 😅
Good Thai food!
Wow! Visiting from Texas and this place is so good! I got chicken Thai pad noodles and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. We also got a few appetizers that were all good. We will be coming here every time we come to Grand Rapids!
This is the first and only time we will be going here. The pad Thai chicken was dry and had no flavor, the only thing you can taste is the medium spice asked the noodles were bland. Was expecting more flavor like other Thai places bit it just wasn’t there. It was not worth the money.
Dirty pad Thai was excellent!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant. At lunch you get soup with your meal. Pad Thai curry is amazing.
Amazing and friendly staff, food is absolutely delicious. One of our favorite Thai spots in the area!
And the crab wontons (rangoons) are killer! They hold a delicious green onion taste that blends with the cream cheese filling.
Gave me the wrong dish and didn't even offer to.make the right dish.
Can't get any better thai! THIS PLACE IS THE WAY TO GO! Thai is my favorite food and I have been constantly searching for the best thai. Of all the places I've been to in the area... this one absolutely beats every other, with taste AND price. That should say everything you need to know.
ABSOLUTELY one of the best thai spots close to Leonard and East Beltline. I tried out lai thai( different thai place up Leonard) and it's was very pricey and wasn't even good. With this place... you get Geat food at a Great price. Every other thai place will give you bad food with a high price. Trust me it's worth it! Thanks to the cooks. You're killing it!
so good. food was awesome i wish they had non fried spring rolls . tom kha soup was tasty and pad thai . cleanliness very good and best of all was their service they were very nice ! will be back and recommend to those that don’t always want american , mexican or italian food in michigan ..
It's a cozy place and a nice environment. In the last few years the servers weren't able to answer questions about the menu so it wasn't the same experience as before.
11/2/2020. Two sips for Fuechii. Great restaurant and servers. The owners are humble and committed to providing excellent food.
Three sips for Fuechii.
Food was excellent and service was great 😊
My wife and I have been coming here for years. It's always delicious and the service is great. Price is good too. I always order the chicken curry fried rice.
One last thing, if you ask for your food spicy (especially fire level), they WILL deliver. So choose your spice level wisely! 🥵😋
I love this little place! ♥️
Food was good but not anything special. Service was poor at best. Server NEVER came back to refill my drink nor ask how my food was. They have no soy sauce or additional spices to add as most Thai places do.
Will not be back.
Always come in and get a warm welcome.
The menu is clearly marked with gluten free options. I had the spring rolls and they were very good. I hope to come back and try more of the gf options.
Excellent dishes. The atmosphere is a bit dated, but the food was amazing.
Peanut Curry Noodles were amazing! Service was super personable :) If I’m in the area again, I would totally go back!
This review is long overdue. We have lived in the Grand Rapids area for a number of years and stumbled upon this restaurant early in our time here. We have been back many, many times even though it is 30 min from our house. The food is genuine Thai and truly magnificent. Always superb and served well. Highly recommend!
Nice little hole in the wall thai resturant. the food was great and fit with most thai food i have enaten in the past. he service from all the staff was most excellent.T
Can't believe this was my first time here. I work within walking distance. Have for the last 4 years, but had never been here.
My mistake!
I got treated to lunch and this is where they wanted to go.
To be honest, I wanted to go to Mission BBQ.
I'm glad we ended up here.
I got the pad Thai with shrimp.
It was very good!
Tasty Thai food. Good quality and a fair price. Restraunt is a little dated, but a good place to get Thai food in the north east side of GR
First visit, I'll be going back. ☺️
My Thai dinner was amazing! My partner's Chinese dinner was ok. If you are going for the Thai menu it's worth it. Great service as well.
The food is fantastic and the staff are very nice. Their crab rangoon is a bit chive-y for my tastes, but everything else I've ever ordered there was excellent. I could drink their peanut curry sauce by itself
One of the best Thai places in town
Best Thai in Grand Rapids! Such good food and fantastic service, everyone who works at Thai Chef is really nice and friendly. The food is unmatched, with the Curry pad Thai and the Crab Rangoons, you can’t go wrong ordering from Thai Chef.
Food was good, not great.
Our server Joe was outstanding!
Prices are fair.
Great interior, great food, but the best part was the amazing server! Keep it up 👌
The customer service was absolutely incredible and I would go back for that alone, but the food was also amazing. Cannot talk this place up enough, I will be a repeate customer from here on out
I wasn’t impressed w the help.
The food was decent.
I probably won’t be back.
Bangkok chicken with green curry was everything to me and I WILL be back for more!
I highly recommend this place; the food is delicious, the attention is top, and the restaurant is clean. The dishes recommended by the waitress were fabulous, and the spicy food was delicious. If you are in Grand Rapids, please, take the time to visit them and have a delightful meal.
Small intimate business. Friendly staff .food great.
Great food
Excellent food and a great attentive staff. Everyone is very friendly and does not make you feel rushed. The quality of the food is second to none. If you decide to order your food spicy hot 🌶 let me tell you. When you order hot, it comes out super hot! Loved it. Thank you guys! Beautiful and clean restaurant as well. Fast service
They have the best tasting shrimp fried rice. Very clean and friendly staff.
Went with someone who was a missionary in Thailand. We got her favorite dish. It was authentic, fed 2, and tasted great.
Great food and service. However charging over $2+for the smallest portion of peanut sauce is kind of petty.
Found this place by accident. Loved it. Great food and spiced perfectly. If you like Tai food and are in the Grand Rapids area, I recommend it.
Here's a menu
Good food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Good value.
The food is very good. Service was quick.
We eat here pretty frequently. They offer good food at good prices and there is never a long wait.
Marvelous Food, the service is Great.
The Quality of serving is perfect.
Great prices, great service, great food! Nice small atmosphere.
My experience here was phenomenal. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the inside was clean and tidy. I highly recommend checking this place out for unforgettable Thai cuisine. Happy eating! Enjoy!
I've been here a few times and I've had amazing experiences! The food is always amazing and well priced! The staff was so nice and the food came out quickly!
I love this place. Always so yummy and the staff is great! Highly recommend!
Worst Thai food I ever had. I would excuse the outdated environment and even a sewer-like smell, if the food was as good as the other reviews claim. The spring rolls were thin as your finger with almost no filling, tom kha kai soup was weak and bland, pad thai noodles and pork curry sauces were watery and the meat had an aftertaste (too long in a freezer?). At least the coconut ice cream was good, but overall this was not a $50 well spent.
This was totally delicious! I highly recommend the sweet potato curry special :)
My favorite Thai restaurant
We order out 3-4 times a week and have owned a restaurant. I would never treat a patron like we were treated. Thai chef overcharged me by $11 and told me it wasn’t a big deal and refunded only $6 and only after we called two times. She said she would refund it all but has not. The manger blamed it on the waitress and didn’t apologize at all, instead raised her voice to me. I would never eat at a place that seemed to intentionally overcharge me and didn’t fix the error when caught. The food wasn’t even great. Super disappointed .
peanut curry beef & pad ped = super duper!
Got take out for four. Asked for medium spice. Was quite bland. Even worse, they put sugar in the curry. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't what I expect from a restaurant with a 4.5 star rating on Google. It was ok, relatively bland Thai food.
Food was just ok. Ordered a level 3 out of 4 for spice and I don't think any spice was put in at all. The bathrooms doors appear to have never been cleaned, the toilet brush sitting next to the toilet was disgusting and they store kitchen things the bathrooms about 2' from the toilet.
Been going to this place for years and have always loved it. I ordered non breaded Bangkok chicken as I have before for take out and when I got home it was breaded. I called and asked them nicely of they would make me another one like I ordered and got transferred to the manager. She argued with me that I was wrong. I was so frustrated from her arguing with me I told her she just lost a customer and will never go back. Amazing something so simple results in a bad review and loss of a loyal customer. Food has been lacking lately anyway but the terrible manager was icing on the cake. Many better options, I'd suggest choosing one.
Wow such good peanut curry here. Love the build your own options too
Awesome prices. Great service over the phone while ordering too!
Awesome food and service!
Try the peanut curry! This place is a local favorite of my wife and I, we keep coming back for their peanut curry entree and peanut curry noodle dish.
This is one of my favorite local restaurants. I ordered the My Mang - Choose Your Own dish with wide rice noodles, chicken, tofu, broccoli, carrots, peanuts, green onions, and the peanut Curry sauce (mild). I love that you can personalize everything about the dish from the protein to the sauce to the veggies and noodles. My dish was very flavorful and creamy. I highly recommend Thai Chef!
You must try the eggplant. So good.
This is my go to Thia place! Food is amazing, and so is there customer service. I usually get the fried rice and it’s ALWAYS amazing!
Always solid thai. I would say number two after Lai Thai, but Lai Thai is never open so we usually go to Thai Chef!! 😊
Takeout dinner with friends. Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. We will be back very soon! Try the Veggie Tofu, it’s amazing.
Very friendly staff and super fast service! Lots of great options on the menu to choose from.
Food was amazing and super cute inside!
(Original review 7/3/20) We ordered take out delivered via Door Dash. Three items were edible. The string beans had great flavor but were totally overdone and mushy. Fried rice was good. And the drunken noodles were fine. However, we ordered what they call Mang Gaeng Kew Warn Noodles, and they showed up bright green. Noodles and chicken were dyed bright green. Honestly the flavor of the sauce was good but the idea of eating all that food coloring made it feel inedible. I’m not sure why they would choose to dye their food this way? We were not able to eat that meal, and it was $12.50.
Excellent food. Good Customer service
Take out always fresh and wonderful.
Great food with equally great service. I love their peanut curry noodles.
I should have fasted! The soup had no flavor overcooked mushy soft puffy noodles and the extra cost for the beef?...what beef? Brown specs floating around in greasy tasteless water. The Bangkok chicken was salty and thus needed to carry on its low quality tastes. This can't be the restaurant I've visited long ago. I'll stick with another location. I give both good and bad reviews. I thought twice about writing this one because the host was such a wonderful person but food is business. This was horrible and a waste because the garbage ate virtually all of it.
The second best Thia place around.
Friendly staff and great food every time we've have gone. Would recommend!!
All four dinners were excellent and the staff were very friendly. More food than expected. Good value.
Love the food and location is great. Fast service and tastes excellent
Love all they do for customers.
I've eaten here a few times and it's typically very good so it pains me to say I received probably the worst delivery meal I've ever been served today. I know the pandemic is tough on restaurants and I debated on whether to post this or not but what I paid for today was unacceptable to serve your customers and take payment in any situation. Noodles had been in the to go plastic container so long that they had all become inseparable and taken the shape of the container. Sauce was just added when the order was placed. I assume that was the case because when I took my fork and and flipped the brick of noodles, the underside of the brick was completely unsauced.
Yummy food! “Mild” is still fairly spicy. Ask for a dinner portion at lunch for $2 more and twice the food.
Great food, great service, Lots if gluten free options. Quite busy at lunch time so you may want to get there a little early.
Very good choices in the menu, the service was great.
Very good service and great tradition styled thai
Quaint little thai restaurant. Really good food with great service.
Great Food!
Great Thai food with good service. Attentiveness to patrons makes it a plus.
Great food!
Really good Thai food. One of my local favorites.
Food is great! Service in restaurant tends to be slow whenever I have been there, but it’s amazing for takeout. My food has consistently been ready in 15 minutes for pickup.
The food is also delicious. I was very pleasantly surprised!
We recently moved from the Bay Area in California, it’s pretty easy to find solid Thai food in there, we have tried everything around and this is the spot.
I’m not the biggest Thai food guy, but my wife loves it. She is crazy for pad see ew and pad kee mao. We split time between here and the traverse city area and we get takeout here about every third day. I sometimes eat something else but tonight I got their Tom Yum soup and bean noodle fried rice. The soup was amazingly good, perfect blend of spice, sour and salt, the fried rice was a new type for me but I’m a big fan.
Can’t wait to get more Tom Yum especially! I know my wife will be happy to get more noodles..
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. Never dissapointed. Good quality control.
Awesome food and great service!!
Always GREAT!
Great food, everyone from my company loves it. Unfortunately at times it's extremely slow and very limited seating. Great variety in dishes, but inconsistently cooked. Same dish on a different week will be much Spicer/dryer/smaller/larger. Price is definitely more than it's worth but it's a nice treat.
The popular opinion on this is that Thai Chef has some of the best Thai food in Grand Rapids area. My only problem with going here is that I know that I like their chicken pad Thai, so I always order it, and don't know enough about the other dishes that are available to try one of them, even though they look very tasty. Can't fault the restaurant for this :-) the restaurant is not huge, so you may find that it can be tough to get a table of you come at certain time during the lunch rush.
First experience trying thai food. Not disappointing at all! Great food and good pricing altho wish there was more main dish. The side of rice is twice as much portioned as main entree. Been back three timesin a month!
Glad I ordered medium (spicy) and not hot. Delicious otherwise.
Very good. I had the basil delight with chicken. The chicken was from the tenderloin which is different from other chicken dishes from competition. The brown sauce was very delicious.
Great location in the strip mall just next to Meijer. Their prices are reasonable for their portion sizes and their spice range is true - a medium is the max that most people I know can handle. Try their Mama's noodle soup - the flavors are to die for and the portion was very generous for 2 people. For vegetarians - let them know about your preference beforehand so they can advise which options to avoid.
Highly recommended Thai spot in GR.
Great Authentic Thai Food! This place is a Thai food lover’s paradise. Everything I have tried here so far has turned out to be amazing. My go to dish is Basil Fried Rice and Tom Kha Soup 😋
Very very good food, good flavors and nice staff :)
Dropped in as a large group and lovely ambiance however the food was overly fiery and hard to eat. Had a bit of trouble with the wait staff they was not the most comfortable in communicating the pricing . Most of our food had to be boxed because it was super hard to eat for being overly spicy for even our party that is used to eating spicy food regularly
Great food and customer service.
Prizes are reasonable and the portion sizes are huge.
Best Thai in town.
Super tasty and they know how to make hot. Gang Gai, Pinneaple Curry and Pad Curry very good.
Reasonably priced, tasty Thai food. The spicy celery soup was excellent.
A bit over priced
Love this place. One of my favorite restaurants. Small, clean and never had a bad meal. Staff are polite and respectful, and the prices are reasonable. Plus there is a take-out option if you need to.
Great food and friendly atmosphere
Delicious! Also very kind and delightful staff. I think I'll name my first child after this place.
