Longtime, unfussy nook preparing classic Thai dishes with custom spice levels to eat in or take out.
Absolutely delightful! I savored the exquisite flavors of drunken noodles accompanied by spring rolls, served in pairs. Each dish was impeccably prepared, a testament to the chef's skill. What truly impressed me was their commitment to eco-consciousness, opting for paper packaging and minimizing waste with compact bags. The drunken noodles boasted ample sauce, tantalizing my taste buds with every bite. While I opted for a mild spice level this time, I eagerly anticipate indulging in a spicier rendition during my next visit. Highly recommended for those seeking a culinary experience that excels in both taste and sustainability. They are take out only, however you can order ahead and eat onsite if you want.
Found this place on google after work one day. Was greeted so sweetly by Pang! Came back a week later because of her! The fried rice is so AMAZING. New favorite local spot!
Amazing Thai food! This place is take out only. The food stays very hot so it will still be fresh by the time you eat it. Prices are right, the food is tasty, and I will keep coming back.
The medium was way way too hot, much harder than any other Thai restaurant's medium. Serving size is ok.
This place is the best Thai around. I’ve been going here for years and it’s great every time.
The most unpleasant experience on my life!!!! The lady was extremely racist and rude, when I first walked in and she complained about how I smelled. Asked me “did I really smoke and come in here” I said “yes”, then blatantly replies “the weed were smoking is killing us”. I explained that “I would rather smoke weed then be a drunk or a pill popper”.
I respectfully walked off and said I wouldn’t buy food here. I suggest no one to ever go here.
I cannot imagine my life without this place. I eat here about twice a week and I definitely am a snob when it comes to my Thai. Whether you're living in the area, or just passing through Thai Garden is a MUST!
This place is the best thai takeout, highly recommend. Nice staff too. Red curry is a classic
I came here all the time growing up and just recently visited again for my birthday. The food here is AMAZING. I recommend getting SP10 with chicken (mild or medium) with the shrimp chips! Delicious!
A nice neighborhood Thai diner.
This place is the best Thai around. I’ve been going here for years and it’s great every time.

Excellent Duck
Relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food.
This place is the best thai takeout, highly recommend. Nice staff too. Red curry is a classic

Great food and you can’t beat the price. Kind service even just for takeout.
Good food and good people. Miss dining in but Covid did that to many places. We go here at least a couple of times a month and are glad they are so close to home!
Best Thai Carryout Around
Great little takeout place
I ordered the chicken pad Thai. The crushed peanuts they used tasted like they were going rancid. The egg in the pad Thai was burnt and between the two it wasn't too enjoyable. I did tell the waitress about both and she told me she would tell them back in the kitchen. Food also is served in Styrofoam boxes which when the food is too hot and placed in the Styrofoam box it does tend to leech off into the food. Disappointed.
The fried rice isn't the best...Rice was kinda mushy with not much of a taste... However the Pad Thai is really good and the spice level is just right...Customer service was great..I would recommend trying them out. No dine in currently.
Take out with "you can sit here to eat" booths and tables.
Spice level inconsistent-my companion and I both ordered pad Thai medium plus, and his was nice, mine was blazing hot. Same dish and spice, very different taste and mine was very red from the extra chiles.
The ground peanuts tasted old and rancid.
We tried two different soups (Tom yum and won ton)- neither was very good.
Always fresh, quick, and tasty. No "dine in" service any longer (since Covid), but r friendly staff seems content to let guests eat takeout at a table ... but don't table service is not part of the offering.
Post pandemic impacts on the hospitality industry have not been a fatal now this family run restaurant, thankfully. It's a bit East of Woodward, across fairly active train tracks, so quick treks on foot from downtown Ferndale are a bit iffy. But their curries, soups, and Pad Thai are fresh, zippy, and made with care, and I am very grateful it is in my neighborhood.
I just want to make a comment on an experience, stopped here with someone because they had to use the bathroom since the train is taking so long to cross. It seems that the lady does not really like people going inside to use the bathroom because she said they have to buy something next time,
however, i think it could be a totally different outcome for the business if she took advantage of people coming in using the bathroom, being nice and maybe offering some food "Hey have you ever tried thai food maybe you should try it out, i recommend so and so" and maybe people would be a lot more happy to buy something after using the bathroom, rather than coming off as inconsiderate for people just urgently needing to use the bathroom. good luck

I love their affordable prices and great food with friendly customer service. My favorite Thai food spot in town!
The service was good, the lady was very nice. I don't live near here and I like the Thai food by my house...I decided to go with pad Thai since it's pretty much the same everywhere. It was good but mostly noodles... I ordered spring rolls which were pretty basic, like frozen ones you get. I didn't understand the applesauce cup. I guess it was dipping sauce for rolls? But it just tasted like applesauce...
Great food, fast and friendly service!
Tom Yum chicken & Kow Pad Med. Spicy
That Pad Thai is the best in the business. The sauce is amazing. 10 out of 10 🔥🔥
ATTITUDE!!!
This is my favorite Thai place and the food is so good so it makes me really sad to make this but I had such a terrible experience tonight that I had to say something. For context, I walk everywhere I don't have a car. I went to the dispensary up the street to get something for myself after a hard week. I ordered my food and sat down to wait and the lady at the register was spraying air freshener and asking if I had weed on me to which I said "Um, yes I just stopped at the dispensary" and she then made me wait for my food outside claiming "girl you stink". I apologized and waited outside expecting her to at least hand it to me or call for me but it just sat on a table inside until I peered through the window. She even sat it away from the register with a bunch of people in the restaurant who could have touched it. When I then went inside to grab it trying to just not draw attention to myself because obviously I was embarrassed, she then yelled out super loudly that she was "sorry about that" and humiliating me even more while I was on the phone with my boyfriend about my sick grandmother in the hospital. Needless to say I don't think I'll be coming back which really sucks because their food is actually really good :(
This our go-to spot for Thai in the Woodward corridor. Great food, great portions, and great prices. Plus, the staff is always friendly.
Great food.
I’ve been eating here for around 10 years and it’s always been amazing. On the rare occasion it wasn’t, they were happy to make amends and I didn’t have to leave them a bad review to get it right. Delicious food and very efficient customer service.
I love this food, best gang gai in town. Ordered it today. Got this potato-based blech. Looked it up. It is gang mus sa mun.
Two syllables, three gs, no m sounds, not four syllables with two m sounds.
Just had the best egg roll around.
And now I see the menu I'm Impressed I want to try everything
Great food at a great price.
Lovely customer service and very clean inside. The food was quite amazing for the price. Looking forward to my next takeout from here
This was my first time eating at the Garden Restaurant and food was very tasty and good ...the Pad Thai Curry was different from others places ..Tom Soup good and Spring rolls..Thanks for Good Meal...MD & LD❤️❤️
Service was great!!
The curry fried rice with tofu was amazing! Currently there is no waiter service but you can eat your carry out at the tables.
I ordered mild plus and my friend ordered medium which is what we order at other places. Both her & my food were extremely spicy. Their medium is like hot + & "Mild plus" is like medium plus.
Amazing cuisine. It's unfortunate that there is no longer a dining area. The most recent remodeling looks excellent and welcoming.
One of the best pad Thai’s I’ve had!
best food in michigan
Very Clean place, and they have The Best Thai food I ever Tasted!!!!😍😍
i hate to admit my favorite restaurant fell off but it really hasn’t been the same the last few years. my curry this morning was more like a soup, so the fried catfish floating in it was instantly soggy and gross. the sauce is too thin to stick to any of the vegetables, so they tasted pretty bland. the rice was dry and starchy like it was put into the rice cooker unwashed. my chicken wings were packed in a wax paper bag, which melted onto the wings. the bottom of the wax paper bag collapsed completely when i got it home so i lost half of them on the floor. the curry fried rice is still really good for what it’s worth ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ been driving across town for their food ever since i moved out of ferndale but i don’t think i’ll be doing that anymore 😔
It's the only place for affordable amazing Thai in Detroit metro. Literally, we crave their pad thai monthly !!
My family has been going to this restaurant for years. It has always been great and consistent. Their vegetable curry combination is great, the spring rolls are crispy and fresh. The rice in the vegetable curry combination is wonderful! Great meal for the price.
I posted a 5 star review for this place 5 years ago and boy how things have changed. Ordered a F10 with chicken...literally no curry sauce AT ALL, chicken was nonexistent and the whole dish tasted funny. Crab cheese wontons...bland filling and mushy, not crunchy like they're supposed to be. I think I'll stick with thai fai a few miles down and spend the same amount to get better food.
First things first, this review has been a long time coming. I'm not really a competitive person by nature and I don't like to pit restaurants against each other. There are a number of establishments in Ferndale, you can take your pick but when all is said and done, Thai Garden is uniquely Thai Garden. In my mind, it is single-handedly the best and my most favorite place to grab a bite in all of not just Ferndale but really the surrounding greater metro area. To reference Highlander, there can only be one and Thai Garden is just that, number one! Bang for buck, the food is always remarkably consistent and you are going to be graciously rewarded for either sticking to and/or veering off the well-trodden path of Pad Thai (Might I recommend the SP11!). The service is top notch and the love and care put into the craft of not only making the food but serving it as well should not go unnoticed. Sometimes, we forget that food is art in all forms. Sometimes, we forget that the people behind the food are just as important as the dish itself. Sometimes we are gifted the best of both worlds in service and dining and that is absolutely the case with TG. Needless to say, I have never once been disappointed. It's been my rock for many years and even in the years that I've moved away from the homestead, I am eternally grateful to say I've always found my way back with an eager belly. If I could give out 6 stars, you know I would.
If you find yourself reading this today, I hope you and yours are well and well-fed. Thanks for your time. - Glenn A. Scaul
Amazing thai food! We had pad thai and pad thai curry and both dishes were tasty with a big enough portion that it was enough for both dinner and lunch the next day! We will definitely be back!
The pictures are beautiful! First time eating Thai and I officially love Thai food! Extremely fresh! The fresh rolls were the first to go and whatever sauce that is...my gosh. I got the Tom Yum soup with a spice level of medium...definitely good. Haven't tried my sweet and sour vegetables but I'm sure that's good too. And they're melanin friendly so don't be hesitant to go in
They are takeout only but I love their food take out is great
I hate to leave this 2 star review but I just feel like that’s the honest truth. The service and prices were amazing, 5 stars. The food was just really not good. I got the seafood in brown sauce which was not even edible for me. I love all kinds of seafood and really any food in general, but this dish just tasted like the ocean. The flavor was overwhelming. The curry noodles were almost like a fettuccini Alfredo and extremely creamy. The sweet and sour vegetables were mediocre but tolerable. The spring rolls / crab rangoons / dipping sauce were bland. I really didnt enjoy the food here or get any authentic thai flavor.
World class. My only regular joint in the area.
They always make the food with love 💗
I like them they're good
Amazing food. It's a bummer the place is no longer dine in. The recent renovation looks really good and cozy
Quick and cheap, but delicious nonetheless! My favorite Thai in Ferndale.
Vegetable Curry with tofu was great.
If you like food with lots of sauce and such, you'd like this place. Some people I know say it's their favorite. Personally, I don't really like that kind of food very much.
Love the Tom yum soup. My go to whenever I'm sick. I also love their pad Thai!
Delicious food, friendly staff, and great prices!
Good food...food price!!
Solid food and a lot of it
My go-to Thai restaurant in Ferndale. Food is consistently good.
My go-to place for Thai in Ferndale. The food is great and consistent.
Carry-out only, but can use one of their tables.
This is the local Thai restaurant I go to when I NEED a dish that is going to be flavorful as all heck. Love the spring rolls, too!
Food was delicious! I ordered the Thai fried rice with shrimp (mild spicy). I will definitely be back.
I have not been here in years only because it is not on my trail. I stopped in a few times in the last month and it was very enjoyable (no table service these days but you can eat in). It is well worth a stop.
Use to have very good food. Long wait for carry out
Excellent Thai food for solid prices
This is the best place around for a Pad Thai. I didn't get Thai food for a couple of years and my old spot was now $15 for just a pad thai. Thai Garden has better food, bigger portions, and costs less than my old spot. I'm addicted again
Absurdly long wait and poor customer service
I can't find anywhere in the Detroit area that has better Thai food or service than Thai Garden. They are my "go-to" thai place and they even recently renovated so the interior looks great!
Good food, good price, good size portions
This is my go to neighborhood Thai restaurant.
Foods great. Prices reasonable. Clean and friendly atmosphere.
Love the Thai chicken noodles. This is the only place that I go too. Best food!!
10/10
Never been so happy to find something so spicyyyy. Chicken Pad Thai and Thai Tea 😗👌
I had chicken pad Thai. It was delicious!
Phenomenal food, good service. Ordered crab rangoon, wonton soup, and an egg roll. The egg roll was definitely homemade, nice and crunchy. I ordered the soup because I was feeling sick, It honestly really helped make me feel better, really tasty. The rangoons were delicious! Overall really happy with what I got for the price, definitely going to be going back soon 👍
My favorite Thai restaurant in the area. They never disappoint.
Def my favorite Thai food restaurant!!! Sad they don't have the curry ramen soup as it's my favorite item in the menu but still a very good place to eat at
My go-to take out place for years! They never fail.
I ordered takeout and meant to leave a tip of $3-4, but accidentally gave the greeter a $20 without realizing it. The restaurant called me back just 5 minutes later explaining what happened and asking if my large tip was a mistake. I was so surprised that they cared enough to call instead of just pocketing the money, that I told them they could keep it.
It’s nice to know in these hard times there are still some people, and some businesses, who choose to do the right thing even when they don’t have to.
Thai Garden has earned a customer for life.
Ps. the food is amazing too ;)
Staff was nice
Great
Favorite Thai restaurant I’ve frequented.
Excellent food. Currently carryout only.
There is a reason that they are busy every day 😎
One of the best Thai restaurants in town. I always come here. Drunken noodles are the greatest!!
The best Thai place in our area hands down.
We eat here about once a month and the food is always great. My only complaint is that the food is often way too salty. Will try and remember to request less salt next time.
This place is always delicious- they serve the best pad Thai I’ve ever had. The veggie curry with chicken and tofu is also wonderful, as is gang masuman with shrimp. Everyone is also very nice! I would give this place a million hold stars if I could.
My fav red curry
Ordered take-out chicken pad thai today and was really hoping to enjoy it because of all the great reviews, but it was SOOO SALTY! Felt like I was going to get a heart attack from eating all this salt. Was only able to finish eating half of it since I was incredibly hungry :( I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it was nevertheless flavourful, and the girl who took my order was friendly and courteous.
The dish I had was terrible. I ordered the ginger, mushrooms onions and shrimp. The dish was full of some type of greens kale/collards and about 7 small shrimp. I threw the food in the trash! What a waste of money.
Had the pad Thai to go. Huge portion and tasted amazing! I got extra hot and it was the perfect spice level!
Consistent. This is the go-to place for dine-in and take-out Thai food. I’ve not ventured outside the Pad Thai with chicken but Thai Garden does it the best in this area. Often, I’ve found Thai restaurants aren’t as consistently tasty for take out as when dining in, but this place has made the same exact dish with the same consistent spice level every single time!
Been here twice and amazing food and service both times. Also the medium heat is spicccyyy!
The posted pics don’t do it justice. My family and I have been getting take-out from here once per month or so for the past two years. We stick to a few things on the menu but that is because they are done really well. Pad Thai with chicken mild and veggie fried rice with tofu and extra vegetables medium. I’ve seen and eaten pad Thai from other local take out places and this is the superior choice. The veggies in the veggie fried rice are always bright and vibrant. I appreciate that they aren’t shy with the spice so if you are hesitant go with mild. We have never ordered anything above medium but have discovered that it is our threshold. Spicy enough to have some real kick but not so spicy that you have to take a break between bites. Oh yeah, they are consistent and most of the time our order takes 10-15 minutes to prepare. They don’t have a website but there is a picture of the menu that someone posted here on google. Please check it out!
So lucky that this is my neighborhood Thai place cause i would drive further to get it. Well rounded menu selections, big portions, very flavorful. This no fuss Thai place is a go to for my house cause they are inexpensive, consistent with what you get, and have a little bit of everything.
Really love the food, when the correct chef is making it, that's good it miss.
Be careful ordering thai hot and not because, it's that hot.
The chef(s) doesn't actually use a measuring device/follow recipe as Thai hot 1 could be 0 and watery, or level 3. Level 2 often is made at 3:or 4.
Again, I love it, but be careful if the chef(s)
The cury duck was delicious and creamy fat was well rendered and skin was easy to bite through. The satay was on point as usual good seasoning not dry good peanut sauce. Good texture on the fried rice as well as a well balanced flavor.
Y’all, I don’t normally like Sweet & Sour sauce, nor applesauce, okay?
Their S&S applesauce though?? Omg.
Best food! Always pleased
Great $$👍😊
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Thai restaurant near Ferndale. The Prices are extremely reasonable, the portion sizes were great, and the wait staff are extremely friendly. The spring rolls were crispy and filled to the brim with fresh ingredients. The plum sauce for the spring rolls was not the usual plum sauce. It tasted and had the consistency of apple sauce. The combination of the two was still really good though. The Tom Yum was hands down the best Tom Yum I have ever had. The spice was on point and you could taste the harmony between all of the vegetables in the soup. The clear noodles w/ pad Thai sauces was delicious besides the noodles being over cooked and a little mushy. The only down side do the food was the rice. I have never had Fried rice like this. The rice was overly sweet and the texture was off. The only thing in the fried rice was a small small amount if cooked egg. it resembled more of a sweet Spanish rice than a fried rice. I would recommend asking for plain white rice than the fried rice with any of the dishes.
Would be better if they had lemons.
It is indeed one of the best Thai restaurants in the metro area. Silver Bowl in Clawson used to be my go to place years ago but after they closed found nothing like it. Thai Garden is as good if not better than Silver Bowl
Oh man Thai garden you are my one true love. Amazing, tasty, fast, and friendly service. Abundance of dishes so everyone will find something they like. This will always be my go to Thai spot.
The best Thai food in the whole area. Maybe the best Thai food anywhere here.
So amazing... great pad Thai
This is my favorite Thai place ever, anywhere and among all the Thai restaurants I’ve ever been. My friend introduced me to this place and I love her for it- wasn’t a fan of Thai food until I ate at this place. Their dishes are full of flavor and correct spice level. The prices are reasonable too for the portions.
When I eat out, I want to eat something I can’t cook at home. And this place is just it. Please keep up the quality!
We LOVE this place! Great food every time, great prices. I am never disappointed, we go here a lot.
Ordered here for the first time and was not disappointed. Pad Thai curry was full of flavor. I ordered medium hot and it was pretty dang HOT (which I like). The pricing is fantastic compared to other thai restaurants in the area, especially for the portions. Fresh rolls were also delicious. Already looking forward to ordering again!
I love this place! It’s become a regular spot of mine recently because it’s so good, they’re really safe with covid precautions, and they have vegan options for their curries. Highly recommended!
really good, first time i ever ordered and i will definitely order again
If I could give this place 10/5 stars I would. This place is top tier, fast, and convenient. I get food from here at least twice a week and always look forward to the left overs cold for breakfast. The portions are huge and decently priced. Great options for vegans and non vegans alike. My only request is for them to be open on Saturdays. All the people who work there are super sweet too!
The green curry didn't come with basil. They did not provide me with a plastic fork for my takeout. No hand sanitizer after I had to touched the keypad to pay for my order.
Best Thai food I had in a while
Tasty offerings. My spouse and drove from northern Oakland County in the late 90's. Now local, its still our go to thai place. While this is not fine dining, service is vg and food plentiful, reasonably priced too. I gotta ding them on consistency/spiciness. Labor day weekend on a Friday, the entire order was too hot. Picked it up at 8:45 so they weren't answering the phone when I called. A mention to staff on a subsequent order resulted in "I'm sorry". I had to ask who to contact about this....
A bit more attention required.
Closed Saturday.
If you appreciate a spicy entree of foods, this will be a location of sorts. And my love for the white rice compliments the rest of my meal completely.
Very good place for Thai food. Their prices are inexpensive. The food tastes great.
Delicious. Ordered vegan veggie curry and had enough for lunch the next day. Highly recommend
This was hands down the best chicken pad Thai I have ever had. Very satisfied with my order, I look forward to returning and trying their other dishes.
It was fine. If we weren't still in the midst of a pandemic I'd give it one less star, but I know some places aren't able to get all their usual ingredients in.
Hardly any sauce on either dish. And the sauce it did have was not the traditional flavor (or even similar to less traditional flavors I've had on the same dishes). Also, the dipping sauce for appetizers which normally would be a duck/plum or sweet peanut sauce anywhere else was just applesauce. That was... strange.
I may try again way later down the line and see if I feel differently.
Always amazing. Great staff and legitimately the best Thai food I've ever had. Nothing better!!!
Our go to Thai joint in town. Consistently delish.
Good food but service and hours are so hit or miss.
Vegan if you get anything with curry and ask for it vegan. The Curry Pad Thai is what I reccomend. Absolutely phenomenal.
Cheap. Delicious. Family owned. Support local.
I have been going here for a number of years and I have never been disappointed. I cannot recommend this place more.
Incredible food and service everytime. Nothing else compares. Whenever we are in the area my husband and I HAVE to go here and get extra to take home.
Just got carry out for the first time. I’ve lived in Ferndale my whole life and didn’t know they were here! The BEST hot and sour soup I’ve ever eaten!!
Drunken noodles are my fav and I've been on the hunt for years to find the best in the area, and no one comes close to Thai Garden
