Thai food at woburn MA
Loved this place. The only Thai diner that I've come across so far. Ordered the shrimp shumai, shrimp in Thai blankets, fish cakes and Thai fried rice and each one of these was something to write home about. The place is a little small, which makes it feel a little cramped, when there are many people around, which is why I took one star out for the atmosphere rating. There's a minimum charge for dining in, which you might want to take a look at before choosing to dine in rather than order out from.
While I have been to South East Asia many times, I have not had to opportunity to go to Thailand. But I can imagine that this is what the food is like.
I love Thai food and this ranks in maybe my top three. Cute location in an authentic old diner crammed in Woburn, MA. Everything was fresh and presented with care. The soups and curry were flavorful and spicy but not heavy or overpowering.
Looking forward to my next area visit so I can return.
So service left somewhat to be desired. One guy was super quiet and unfriendly and the other was the complete opposite. No cashew option, was disappointing but once my food came out, I was surprised 😮. The 3 plates came out fast, great portions and for the presentation, well worth the price. It’s a good place to find many options -Thai food style with lunch deals.
Our visit to Lanna Thai Diner was enjoyable. It just so happens this area is host to many incredible Thai restaurants.
Whenever myself and my partner visit somewhere new, we end up ordering our "baseline" orders to kind of act of a foundation to what the restaurant is like for our favorite dishes.
The positives here is that there was no overindulgence. The food was not overly saucy, salty, or sweet. We both enjoyed the meal, but we agree that there may be better options nearby when it comes to flavor alone.
The host/server was very attentive and made sure to check in on us multiple times to see how things were and if they were to our liking.
I'm not 100% I'd recommend this as my first choice, but it seems to be somewhere where you can rely on consistency.
I really enjoyed the experience here. Th dining car aesthetic, the kind staff, and the yummy food really hit the spot. It was not necessarily my personal favorite thai food, but it was quite good, and I am sure would be excellent for other people's palettes. If you are in the area, you should take the time to check this out for sure!
Wow! The food was amazing and was spot on! I would highly recommend this place for pad Thai and must have the mango sticky rice!
Moving to a new area we were on the search for a new Thai place. We were seated quickly and service was great. The server was very friendly, attentive, and sweet.
My husband and I got Thai ice tea, a veggie soup, two Pad Thai, mango sticky rice. Food came quickly and was so delicious, fresh, and portions were great. Also I was shocked at the price, it was so affordable and worth it.
We are happy to say we found our go to Thai place now.
The absolute definition of a hidden gem. This is basically the favorite restaurant of anyone who has ever come here in the last 20+ years. And they haven't told you because they have been jealously hording all of this delicious Thai food for themselves! They could be your friends, coworkers, even your own family. Why am I letting you in on this? Life is too short, and this isn't just a must-try restaurant, it's a line item on your bucket list, my friend. Fresh Thai rolls, chicken satay, green curry chicken, and a crazy dessert if you don't know where to start.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lanna Thai Diner is an absolute gem in the world of Thai cuisine! Having been a loyal patron for about 20 years, I can confidently say it’s the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The flavors are incredible, and each dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients you can find.
What truly sets Lanna Thai Diner apart is not just the food, but the outstanding service. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making every dining experience enjoyable. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a long-time guest like me, you’re always greeted with warmth and a smile.
If you’re craving authentic Thai dishes, look no further! I highly recommend Lanna Thai Diner to everyone — there’s simply nothing better!
I got the chicken pad Thai for the first time and it was very hot and delicious! 10/10 recommend.
My Pad King was excellent, as was the service. However, being a diner, seating is limited, and only street parking is available.
The Lanna Thai Diner needs to be known
Always great food

Food is great but the quantity is so less. There was barely any noodles in my dish. Just filled with veggies.
Unique dining experience tucked away in Woburn, with great Thai food & service.
Been eating at Max’s Thai restaurant for over 15 years. I can honestly say his Thai food is the best around. Max is also one of the kindest restaurant owners I’ve come across. I know from experience it’s not easy running a restaurant and Max hits it out of the park on all levels.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! The man that we talked to was rude. We asked to change a few things and he blew up and said we were being picky and said he wouldn’t serve us! The consumer has this right buddy
Best Thai food I’ve eaten, love the fresh rolls and chicken satay! Food is always super fresh, staff is friendly. 100% recommend
We ordered Basil fried rice and pad thai; the spicy level was good and no sweet aftertaste. Parking will be a challenge.
The owners are so kind and friendly and the service is so quick. After living in Thailand, it’s been hard to find authentic Thai food in Boston but after finding this place, I’m never recommending anywhere else. It has the best Pad Thai, papaya salad and spicy basil!
Excellent spot, great food. Eat here
Really great for take-out lunch and probably my favorite Thai place in the area as well.
The existence of this place makes me very happy
Loved it. Eat here.
Food is absolutely amazing and customer service was great
Lanna Thai Diner was recommended by a friend who said it is "the best Thai he has ever eaten". We assumed it would be good given that recommendation, but it exceeded expectations! We had Spring rolls, Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodles and I cannot even choose a favorite because they were all ridiculously delicious. The basil fried rice had a nice kick to it so take those little chili peppers on the menu seriously. This will be our new go-to for takeout. I cannot wait to try more of their menu!
Great food prices and service. Small local secret
Lanna Thai is a regular choice for us. Whether we eat in or carry out, the food is always wonderfully fresh, the atmosphere welcoming, and the owner friendly. I eat vegetarian and the owner always goes out of his way to make sure my dietary needs are satisfied. Others I know who eat non-vegetarian dishes here always rave about their food. Tiny restaurant that is big on flavor! Love Lanna Thai Diner!
The food is amazing. I enjoyed the Yellow Curry Chicken with ginger tea.
I highly recommend this place.
Excellent place to eat, got the chicken pad Thai with hell spicy sauce. Wasn't hot enough for me but the food was excellent. 9 out of 10
What a glorious surprise! Don't drive past this place thinking it's another greasy spoon, inside is the most flavourful and fresh Thai food around.
Small but wonderful little place. Good food. Great service. Parking is a challenge but food is worth it. Lots of offerings from very mild to EXTRA spicy for your specific tastes.
Really cool resturant. Food was great although there's not alot of seafood options if that's your thing you'll be disappointed. Green curry chix was very good. Definitely going back.
Great food, best service.
Best Thai I've ever had. And great service too.
Food was great forgot pictures reminded me of a diner which it most likely was before. Food was good as I said most importantly to me got pad thai basil rice pancakes and bags yummy will be back
Best in the neighborhood. Very authentic!
I've been going here for the last 5 years and the food has always been great!
Food was so good, I forgot to take a picture before digging in! We got the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Prik Pow and all was delicious! The restaurant is a little small and it was quite busy when we were there, but our server took great care of us and the atmosphere is spectacular
Food is good. Service is 6/10.
Diner like setting. Great food.

Takeout from your favorite dine-in restaurant is an interesting reveal. Strip away the accessories (silverware, plates, etc) the service and the atmosphere, the food is left to stand on its own. At Lanna Thai there is nothing lost with takeout! Of consistently high quality, with the freshest ingredients, masterfully prepared dishes that more than stand on their own! The best around whether you dine-in or take out.
The owner is very friendly. Small place with lovely atmosphere. Food is great!!! We’ll come back again
food is excellent and great staff. Basif fried rice and pad Thai are delicious. nice gem in woburn.
Hands down my favorite Thai place! AMAZING food and byob (no cork fee). The choo chee curry is my favorite - especially with duck.
So service left somewhat to be desired. One guy was super quiet and unfriendly and the other was the complete opposite. Great place! Good food, good service, and a funky diner atmosphere.
Great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our experience and food here! There was a warm atmosphere with everyone coming in seeming to know Max very well. That’s how you know they have a base of regulars coming to enjoy their food. Their pad thai had great flavor and texture even without the peanut sauce, which was a nice bonus. They give a generous serving of fresh bean sprouts to give it a nice crunch whereas most places will cook it in the noodles that leave them soggy. The highlight was the sticky rice which was served with juicy ripe mangoes. We’ve found our go-to thai spot in Boston 👌🏼
Wow! The food was amazing and was spot on! I would highly recommend this place for pad Thai and must have the mango sticky rice!

Delicious, authentic food from a very courteous (and very Thai!) staff in a very charming diner. The flat rice noodles were cooked with love. I wish there were more restaurants like this in america
Amazing and authentic food in a small, cozy setting. The owner is so nice and everything was fresh, hot and perfect.
Food is just terrible. People seemed nice. It’s like bland watery food.
Best Thai food around!
Absolute best thai food with the most hospitable owner and cook. You'll always good great ingredients and a home cooked vibe with every dish. Take out I'd absolutely delicious as well. Do not wait to try this place out!
Delicious food, great service, and cute ambiance. This is the sort of place you see in movies, where the food nourishes your soul.
My fiance and I split an app, two entrees and a dessert, and it came out to 50$ for both of us. The highlight of our meal was the mango sticky rice dessert, which outcompetes the others I've had in the Greater Boston area, and our host coming back in between courses to refill our tea mugs and chat. The folks in the shop seemed to know eachother, and it had a really friendly vibe. I'm so glad we stumbled in. Cannot recommend enough.
Authentic Thai food! We lived in Thailand for 3 years and finally found the real thing here, so good!
We’ve been repeat customers since a while now, and this place has never disappointed us. The seating might be a little cramped, so I would rather suggest take-out for parties >2. The food is spot on and so are the hygiene and hospitality by the owner. There’s an item listed under ‘northern Thai specialities’ that’s made up of spicy ground chicken and it closely reminds me of spicy chicken kheema from back home in India. I would strongly recommend trying this item!
Excellent dinner
Great cute little restaurant. They can be busy. I was in when it was kinda slow, and got a chance to talk to the server. Man, does this staff work hard, they are so great with every customer that comes in. They are so amazing.
Cozy diner. Excellent food
A tiny but mighty little diner that serves amazing, authentic Thai cuisine. Get a table or sit at the bar. I love the masamam curry with tofu ... my all-time fave. But you can't go wrong with any selection on the menu. Always fresh and cooked to order.
Great food and great atmosphere.
I have been going here for years as it is the best Thai food I have ever had. I am currently driving 45 minutes to get there, and it's worth it. Max is amazing.
Bring your own alcoholic beverages. Max is great! Fast service, great food!
I've found my new favorite Thai place!!!!
Everything is so fresh and delicious. I'm enjoying working my way through the menu.
The choo chee chicken curry is my favorite to date and the fried Thai rolls are little bites of heaven.
Delicious!
If you r in Boston and looking for authentic Thai cuisine, this is the place!
We have tried pad Thai shrimp, green chicken curry, papaya salad, pineapple fried rice and tom yum soup and all sooo good))
Definitely coming back!
Food is good, (I think) genuine, and not so pricy. Owner is very friendly. Cozy home feeling.
Pretty disappointing it was to arrive after a long drive 30 minutes before the posted closure time and see a closed door. Then someone inside, seemed like the manager, would not even acknowledge seeing us and actually very rudely showed his hands away to us after a few knocks to leave. My showing to the posted sign that there is still 30 minutes did not have any effect. Very upsetting experience.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had, everything was perfect and delicious!
Very good Pad Thai, good service and nice atmosphere.
The Baa Mee Heang is absolutely delicious. Tom Kha soup is perfect. Friendly people.
Everything was fresh and very yummy 😋 😍
The most authentic Thai food around. Great prices, big plates, and you won't be disappointed. You might have to wait a bit for a table so I suggest to call for reservations. Take out is also an option. Either way it's worth the wait
You may not know about Lanna Thai, but I definitely recommend you find out. Quaint little establishment tucked away in Woburn inside of an old dining car, with some of the best Thai I've had around. Savory, excellent mix of vegetables, very satisfying portions. Everyone at PM Group loved it!
Thanks Max!
No parking
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu--everything is delicious! I especially like the Tamarind Duck, Panang Curry, Nam Prik Oong, and Pad Thai. When mangos are in-season, be sure to try them for dessert with sweet sticky rice. Max is a wonderful host and the atmosphere is charming--an original diner car from the Worcester Diner Company. Recently renovated, everything is clean . Get here early for dinner though--its small and fills up fast! Street parking can be a challenge, but there are often short-term parkers who are just picking up take-out so you can usually grab a space after someone leaves.
Delicious place for Thai food
Cute, unique spot with a friendly staff. Generous portions for takeout! Pad see ew and basil fried rice were good.
Unbelievably good. Max is a genuinely nice person and the food was so delicious. Can’t wait to have it again.
Great food hard working guys you can't go wrong here.
pretty good. the thai iced tea was amazing highly recommend. the crab rangoon kind of tasted like carrots though.. great service thooo
The owner is charming; the food fantastic, authentic, & delicious. Atmosphere, unique - a Diner! highly recommend.
This place is spectacular! Max and his father really know what they are doing. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Definitely a hidden gem in Woburn. Thank you for an amazing meal and experience
I think their Massaman curry with tofu (แกงมัสมั่น) is excellent,
Delicious food and friendly service!
food here is AMAZING!! Service is the same. initially went off these reviews for dinner. this one deserves more rating than i can give it. parking is an issue but there's a big parking lot 2 minutes walk away.
well worth the visit.
Baa mee heang is the bomb. Asked for it to be extra spicy and boy was it spicy!! 🥵 delicious!
Good food
Best pad Thai in Woburn
This has become a favorite place to eat now, excellent food, excellent service. First time we went happened to be for the girlfriend's birthday, we were given complimentary dessert. They're taking a long vacation, but will be back mid May. Visit and enjoy fine Thai cuisine!
Personal preference, ask for Extra Spicy! 😁
Easily one of my favorite Thai places in the area. Old school diner aesthetic mixed with great Thai food and decor is a wonderful mash up worth the visit.
Food is great, service is awesome and quick, always fresh ingredients
Really on the fence between 4 & 5. I will say if you get to go make sure you stir it up to get the sauce that settles mixed back in. Picked up lunch and had their Pad Ba-mee noodles. Great balance of protein, veggies, and noodles. Can't wait to try something else next time. Wish I would have taken a pic.
Really good Thai food at reasonable prices! The location is small but very efficiently run. I have never had to wait long there.
Tiny diner but hospitable host. No wait but seating was cozy. Food authentic and served fresh. I had the red curry with beef which was not too spicy. Pad Thai also decent. Portions not huge but satisfying. Loved the curry puffs! Iced Thai green tea was unique and tasty. Nice place for a lunch date.
Great Thai food. My favorite Thai place in the area, and recently reopened. I've ordered many items on the menu, & always pleased. My go-to's are generally chicken or shrimp Pad Thai, and fresh spring rolls, but their curry dishes are great too.
Quite disappointed. I ordered pad Thai for takeout. I get that the dish won’t taste as good as if I’m sitting inside the restaurant but the flavor just wasn’t there for me. I spent a little over $17 before tip. One positive is that the food was ready extremely fast.
I get the Massaman Curry and a Thai Green Tea from here at least once a week. It is always delicious, and the service is great.
This is a very special place.
Everything here is great! Been coming here for years. Mostly take out for lunch but it's a really cute place to dine in, just haven't done it lately. Max, the owner is a real nice guy! If you haven't eaten here, you have to try it!
Delicious!
Authentic Thai flavor.
Good quantity of chicken and pineapple in the pineapple fried rice.
Green curry also really good.
Great. Except their phone ringing is so loud. C'mon.
My favorite Thai place. Food is great!
Diner is fully open for inside eating and Max is as friendly as ever. Interior has been fixed up and the food is as amazing as it always was. A hidden gem in Woburn.
Excellent food, very pleasantly surprised
This may be one of the best restaurants period. The waiters were amazing, they were very nice and always were checking in on us constantly, it was actually amazing. The food. Was amazing, I felt bad I couldn’t finish it all, it was some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, I got Pad Thai, and Sticky Rice, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Their hot chili oil was also extremely flavorful. The environment is super cozy and iconic in that it’s also in a diner setting which I personally Adore. All in all a 10 out of 10 experience, I’m from out of town but I would go out of my way to come back to this restaurant.
Delicious food!! The chicken pad Thai is a must have and I loved the fresh Thai rolls with their peanut sauce. Very flavorful. Sometimes I know pad Thai doesn't taste as good the next day but my leftovers were just as good as when I had them fresh. Very friendly service as well. I can't wait to try their other dishes
OUTSTANDING!
This was my first time to Lanna, and I was completely surprised and overwhelmed by the experience.
Fresh, hot, and delicious authentic Thai food served in a snug and intimate setting.
The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, the place was scrupulously clean and bright, and the food was among the best Thai food I’ve had in the Boston area and suburbs. Standout hits were the Tod Mun, chicken sate, fresh rolls, and the Pad Thai.
You won’t be disappointed!
This place is the goto for delicious Thai food. Very authentic. If I'm honest the Thai tea and coffees aren't very good at all. The food is the why I visit here. From appetizers to main courses you won't be disappointed
I am glad to see Lanna Thai back open. There food is excellent Thai food, I highly recommend Pad Tai.
The food is AMAZING here!
The owner Max makes some of the most tasty pineapple rice!! The price is right service is great
Just tried some takeout from Lanna Thai. This is probably the best Thai food my wife and I have had in the US.
