Thai Place Restaurant has been open since 1990. Being the first Thai Restaurant in the North Shore area of Massachusetts, we are proud to be one of the first establishments to present the unique taste, culture and sincerity of Thailand.
We were in Salem on the worst possible day of the year (Saturday before Halloween) and every place was packed. Still, we were seated and served much more quickly than expected. Staff was polite if not friendly but I don't think they had time to be very friendly.
We ordered fried tofu, curry puffs, rainbow fried rice and hot chili fried rice. The tofu and curry puffs were not bad. the curry puffs are basically just small samosas. The rainbow fried rice was okay. Basic, middle-of-the-road fried rice. The hot chili fried rice, however, was possibly the best fried rice dish I've ever eaten. We were fighting over the last bite. That dish alone raised my review by a whole star and a half.
It was so crowded, it's hard to judge the atmosphere or cleanliness of the place. the bathrooms were clean, though which is a good sign, especially when they were that busy.
In the mall this was a nice find that wasn’t too much of a wait during the October season.
The staff were friendly and the food was solidly delicious for the items we ordered. The main dishes started around $20 a plate and Thai beer was $9, thrown in an appetizer and your starting cost per person is about 30-40. This seemed typical for the area to sit down during a very tourist gathering time. (They did have lunch specials)
Inside was a touch warm but over all clean and welcoming.
Excellent food and tea, they were very accommodating, hospitable, and kind! Wonderful experience- if you are thinking about going, go for it! The Massaman curry was so flavorful, and can be done fish-free, the Pad Thai was excellent and the hot Thai tea was so helpful and delicious on a cold night. Was so pleasant meeting the people who operate the restaurant. Would go again in a heartbeat!
i understand they were busy, but the levels of rudeness from the staff were inexcusable. when i ordered at the counter, i specially said we would like the order to be packed in a take out container since we’d be eating quickly. i asked if it would be okay to still dine inside and the lady at the cashier said it wouldn’t be a problem. when we sat down, we were told we wouldn’t be given plates and we had to leave immediately. when i tried to tell the server that one of the staff had specifically said it would be alright for us to dine in, her answer was near hysterical. i wish the quality of the food could justify this, but much like their service, it was absolutely lousy.

Food was delicious, they made everything vegan for us. Family who runs it is very sweet. It’s a special place!
Stringy Pad thai little flavoie. The chilled thai tea . They cut the size but charge the same. Very little cream in the tea. I dont know what happento my Crab Ranggoon no taste to them nWon't go there again.
Food was under cooked, drinks came out after we finished our meal.. it was empty.
I genuinely do not know how they are still in business.

Food was terrible salty chicken wings crab Rangoon was nasty
Little plates and expensive

Worst place I've ever been!!!!! Do not go here!!!
Had the vegetarian delight lunch special. It was delicious, very reasonably priced and the service was great. I'll be sure to go back next time I'm in Salem!
Very rude, dirty tables, menu is very extensive but not really great, food has no favor 😒 very disappointed, hopefully they will close down so something better can take this wonderful location
Horrible service
The service are really not good, the food are not good and the personals are agressive
I come here weekly and get the Green Curry Chicken (mild of course) :)
NOT gluten free. Got sick while eating there and had to stop eating. I hadn’t had food since 8am and it for sure this meal at 1pm, while eating it. My wife, who has no allergy, also had belly trouble before we walked out of the restaurant. I would skip this place and keep looking. I wouldn’t recommend eating here.
We went to Salem for the 4th of July. Well the mall bathrooms were locked, my 88 year old grandmother with kidney disease needed to use the bathroom. The woman in the restaurant REFUSED to let my grandmother in unless we bought something for 5 dollars. She proceeded to complain about how if she let us in without paying more people would do the same. I repeat the mall bathrooms were LOCKED. Finally fed up because my grandmother really needed to go, we bought something. She finally let us in, as we left she kept trying to tell us why she did what she did. I'm not sure if she was trying to convince us or herself. But either way I will never give my money to an unfeeling, uncaring, greedy, and selfish owned restaurant. Trust me, they don't even deserve one star.
Amazing food!
I got the yellow curry, crab Rangoon, and some beers
Horrible place. Food was unflavoured and undercooked, and then we left a 10% tip and the owner was rude saying we should tip more. DO NOT GO
We were in the area and decided to try this place out. The hostess was very kind and so accommodating to us! We ordered the sesame chicken and yellow curry and can I just say WOW! The sesame chicken was not as sweet as other sesame chicken I've had, but it was still yummy! And the yellow curry knocked our socks off! The flavor of it was just amazing. It’s the best curry we’ve had in years from a restaurant. I will definitely be coming back when we visit again!
The food was great and the service, excellent
They wouldn't allow people to split the check multiple ways. We went as a group of three, and none of the food came out at the same time. We got one persons order, 10 minutes later another person in our group got their food. 10 minutes after that I got my food. We you order a meal with people you expect to be able to eat together. Not have two of your group finished before the last person even gets their food.
It's not a thai place and portions are poor
Okay Thai food and the drinks were also okay
We love coming here before or after a movie at cinema Salem!! My favorite pad Thai ever!!! My partner swears by all the spicy dishes, but I can’t handle spice. It’s usually pretty empty with in-room dining but the service and vibe are great!!! Very friendly.
Really cute and convenient place to stop and get a bite to eat. I highly recommend getting some of their hot Thai tea as well--it's delicious and goes well with every dish.
I was just here not to long ago ( literally almost 2 hours ago) my friend told us about the place from the reviews so we came here it looked nice on the inside the server was nice and kind we ordered the appetizer was good we ate all of it then when the entrees came out me and my friend got our food first and my other friend got her food 4-7 minutes later which wasn’t an issue with us. Me and my first friend ordered the Pad Thai and my other friend had the fried rice with chicken, and it was honestly the nastiest and blandest food we’ve ever had. The pad thai tasted off and missing so much to it, and my friends fried rice was bland💀 our food was supposed to be no more than 80$ ( we did the math and added sales tax) and it came up to 95.95 we paid 100$ and the server came back and hounded us to pay more (im assuming 15% tip) and we didn’t pay it and left
Moral of the story DONT GO HERE!!
Food was very good, service was absolutely lovely, no wait even just before Halloween, and the prices were awesome. We had two lunch entrées and a shared appetizer, then came back a few hours later for Mai Tais and a place to sit before our next ticketed attraction. (The drinks were strong!)
100% recommending this as a fabulous place to visit during this busy season!!!!
I’ve had some really good Thai food and this place is just okay. The flavor is not there. They bring the plates out as they are ready instead of all together so half of my party was done eating before the other half got their food. There’s an automatic 20% tip added to the bill. The place could use a renovation but that whole mall is old and dingy.
We came here yesterday, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the drunken noodle and it was very good. My kids also really loved the fried rice, so I highly recommend trying both.we love the food here so much, and the people who work here are so kind as well.
My family went to Thai place on sunday night we had a great experience at this restaurant the food is so good ,shrimp fried rice is the best i never had before.the lady at the restaurant was so friendly.the big welcome with an genuine smile.
This place is horrible! I wouldn’t go back if it was free! The waitress was incredibly rude to me and my family told us she didn’t have time to deal with our needs and threw her calculator at us!! I have never in all my 50 years have ever been treated so poorly by a staff member at any restaurant! I was in disbelief over how badly we were treated!
The service was very bad. They brought out half the entrees at a reasonable time, but the others didn’t come for 20 minutes (even though people who came much later got their meals). They build in a 20% tip into their bill, and refused to take it off. Very disappointing.
This is by far the worst Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life! None of the food came out together. The lady delivering the food had an attitude. No one checked to see if we needed drink refills. One dish’s seafood smelled so bad, we sent it back as no one could eat it. To make matters even worse, at the end they automatically put a 20% tip on because they know the food and service they is so bad that you would not tip otherwise. They claim to be #1 in the area and the only way that could be true is if there are no other Thai restaurants!
Located within The Witch City Mall.
We tried The Thai Place for lunch as we all enjoy Thai food.
Sadly, the service was very poor, slow to great us, slow to take the order, and very slow to serve. When asked for dessert before we even spoke, the waitress said ok none thank you, and I will bring the bill. The kids were a little upset as they did want desert, but the waitress was gruff and unattentive, so we went to Rosadela's.
Additionally, the portion sizes were very small, not very flavorable, and very expensive.
Overall, it's not a place we'd visit again.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years now. I’ve tried Pad Thai at other restaurants but nothing will ever top The Thai Place.
The food was excellent. I had pad Thai. Best I've ever had. My daughter had spring rolls. They were also very good. The only complaint I had was it was sooooo quiet in there. No music. I would highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.
If you like Thai food, this is a good place to go.
Really comfortable family business with delicious food.
As a Thai opinion, we ordered chicken satay was great although they fried it instead of grilled it. My friend ordered chicken garlic sauce with rice. The taste was so yummy like I had in Thailand. For me, I ordered Junkle curry with rice. A little bit disappointed it. It’s too fusion and not spicy as I expected about it.
The atmosphere: 🤔 for me, a little bit dark inside. I think it’s better if they will add more light.
We had a chance to talk with chef. He was so kind, super friendly and humble. I think all staff that I met are Thai (because I heard when they were talking)🤣.
all around amazing restaurant
food was great, the servers were entertaining and kind, we got our appetizers and food quickly
the bill came with our food with a plate of candy so there was no wait and our waitress kept adding more candy to the plate
a very welcoming atmosphere, would love to come again if i lived in salem :)
The 'famous' Mai Tai was $16. It wasn't bad but not worth the cost.
Terrible wait service
Very unfriendly
And my chicken fried rice was the worst I have ever had in my life
Tasty, affordable Thai food with clean and comfortable seating. Thank you for the great service.
Main complaint, that the food when you order dinner does not all come at the same time. My wife waited over 15 minutes. It came out 1 meal at a time. Not sure why?
Decent food, slow service.
i love thai food. pad thai is their specialty. also ordered crispy roast duck, delicious. service here is excellent. dining area is nice and cozy.
I had the yummiest dinner here tonight! They took such good care of me and helped me get to my movie on time. The food was delicious. Very fresh and authentic. Hope to visit again soon!
I love Thai food. It’s usually a cuisine I’ll happily eat even if it’s mediocre. I ordered from here for the first time tonight, got the pad thai and it was absolutely the WORST pad thai I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t even eat it. It was dry, flavorless, clumped together, the shrimp were awful and super over cooked. It was absolutely disgusting. Won’t ever be ordering from here again and I highly recommend not wasting your money here.
Great service! They should let me redesign their logo tho.
Went there for a afternoon trip couldn't get over the way the lady manager was she has been notorious for double tipping as I have. Seen made mention from other posts. My friend has autism she legit made.w.sceje an caused her to cry..won't be coming here again
Very dirty restaurant
I was a littlest disturbed at how they can get away with being so filthy
The food was not good at all
Delicious for the price, friendly staff and warm atmosphere
I'd passed by this place several times and been a bit weary of trying it because it usually looks quiet without many customers. We stopped in on a Thursday night and I'm so glad we did! There was only one other group dining inside but they had a bunch of takeout orders ready for pickup. We were seated and attended to quickly, we got shrimp dumplings and chicken satay as appetizers. The dumplings were great and though the peanut sauce that came with the satay wasn't my favorite, the chicken was very tender and juicy and the portions were large. We got the red Curry with beef and drunken noodles as entrées, both of which were delicious! Everything was cooked well and the spice level/flavor was excellent. Their prices were on the higher end of average but by no means overpriced for quality and service. Would definitely go here again, though might try their takeout next time as they seem to do a lot of it.
Came here very early one afternoon for a quick bite, and enjoyed it very much. Great food, cool vibe - definitely doesn't feel like it's in with all the shops. It's great to leave here and roll right into the shops or the street. The service was quick enough, and the food was classic Thai. Very tasty and clean.
I have become a regular here, the food and prices are so good. They make the best thai iced tea I've ever had, and I love exsploring their menu, but always return to the pad thai. Their food is flavorful, but not over sauced and or spiced. The staff are very nice and sociable, and I never end up waiting long for service. The interior layout is generally a little dim which I enjoy, with a fairly standard table and chair set up that makes the most of the small space they have!
Come here every year. Love it!
We were visiting for halloween and we decided to try this place for lunch. I couldn’t be happier with our service, the couple who I assume owns this restaurant are so nice and respectful. The food is impeccable, appetizers, entrees, and drinks. Probably the best Thai place I have ever been, and one of the best dining experiences I have had in a very long time. I will be coming back here every time I visit Salem!
Very homely feeling , as you are greeted with a thai mom at the front, we went on one of the busiest days for them and were also told that the wait time would be longer , getting that upfront was great. The drinks took about 5 minutes to get to table , and the food showed up 15 minutes later.. i wasnt expecting that short but wow 😍 great .the food was really delicious and plating was alot. Definitely a place to check out and will be back
The food is good and service is great. I would say the portion size is small compared to the price. It was very busy during the Halloween weekend but the staff managed without long delay.
Green thai curry Was delicious. The staff were very loud and disruptive. I wanted to pay by Apple Pay as I didn’t have a physical card on me. I haven’t had to in years. and the waiter got quite upset and said they don’t do Apple Pay. And that I ordered food without a way to pay. He seemed distressed and said they don’t do Apple Pay in Salem. He then shows me the machine and I paid with Apple Pay. All the fuss for nothing. Very embarrassing. I thought they were going to call the police.
Food was ok, portion size was moderate for price but the wait was ridiculous. We were among the first 10 people to enter but had to wait 15 minutes to have our order taken and then 45 minutes to eat, (all ordering lunch specials, nothing crazy) people that came in us after were served first, we got no update on when the food was coming or a sorry or anything. Waited for probably 15 minutes after eating to get the attention of one of the staff to get our bill and then waited another 20 to ask again to finally get the bill. Waitress was polite but one lady (I assume owner) was rude to everyone that came in and offered no management, awful service. I will not be returning and cannot recommend.
disgusting, flies all over the place, food taste like you’re gonna have food poisoning and they messed up orders and gave credit cards back to the wrong people
What a lovely restaurant. It was the owners birthday and they offered all customers a slice of cake. We had a wonderful chat with the waiters and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
No more wondering why this place is always empty minus the Halloween season.
Food was disgusting. Super disappointed after waiting 30 mins and horrible customer service!!!!!
Stellar service and the best food hands down. We've gotten crab Rangoon all over as it's our favorite, and these are the best I've ever had. We both got pad Thai and were stuffed, and had enough for a big lunch the next day
Best Pad Thai I've ever had!
I really don't inderstand how this place can get anything under 4 stars.
The food is hot, fresh and fast
The staff are very nice and welcoming.
The atmosphere is laid back and pleasant.
Very nice lunch today..
Place was cozy and clean. Staff was friendly and prompt. The food was amazing, and I would definitely go again.
Eh it was ok. Only got two appetizers. Got the satay and the crab Rangoon. Crab Rangoon was not crispy. Satay was ok though.
It's August and there's a balloon that says happy Father's Day and they are playing "baby it's cold outside". Soo that was kinda weird.
Not to be mean but I think most of their business comes from people wanting to use the bathroom. They make them buy a drink.
I truly don't understand the bad review for this place. I've tried a lot of asian food in the area and this is by far the best in both quality and value. They're also super nice and speedy. I highly recommend the fried rice and pad thai!
Stopped by here briefly before our ghost tour that night. Barely anyone in the restaurant so we got our food quickly. Ordered a crispy pad Thai and drunken noodles and we liked both of them! Decor and atmosphere were okay, but I wouldn’t consider it up-scale or anything. Clean bathrooms. The place mats were those Chinese zodiac paper mats just flipped upside down.
I ordered pad thai for lunch and it looked like a side dish size, way too small for the price I paid. Also, I ordered basil thai rice with chicken to go for my husband. When he opened it, it looked like rice cream soup. The rice was like glue and creamy. It did not taste good. The thai tea was great and that's the reason they get a star from me. I won't be coming back.
Ate lunch with friends, got thai crispy chicken, bbq chicken, jungle curry, yellow curry with chicken, and thai teas. Everything was really affordable and good (especially the crispy chicken and the thai teas). Staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is pretty.
Food good and drinks
Nice soups!! Great customer service
The food is AMAZING and the staff are very polite and welcoming. 5 STARS for sure :)
Staff is always friendly and the food is always fresh.
Mediocre, sadly the Tom Yum wasn't up to the competitions and the spring rolls lacked veggies. The spring rolls were rather doughy. The satay was good! I was really hoping for better food. It wasn't bad, we ate it all but I guess my bar has been set high.
Dine in or take out, this place is the best! The yellow curry is so so good. They are so friendly and almost always give out a little chocolate with the check, which I love.
Honestly save your money and go elsewhere! I was the first from my friends to order and the waitress forgot my food. When we first walked into the restaurant we were greeted with an attitude (this is the same waitress that forgot my food). I ordered chicken and broccoli and it did not taste like it.
We visited Salem for Halloween week and went to the Thai Place twice. I just enjoyed the vanilla ice cream both times, but my wife tried a few different things. She thought their soup was fantastic!
Thai Place has good lunch specials and offers a clean bathroom (anyone who has been to Salem around Halloween knows a bathroom is worth its weight in gold). Good prices and never too busy to get us in and out quickly!
The host said that the establishment was unable to accommodate 4 and a small child. My husband pointed out that there were tables with 4 chairs and a high chair that were empty. She again stated that they did not have space. A waitress stated that they had a table in the back available and she would clean it for us. The host then told us the wait would be 30 minutes. We asked to speak with a manager and that was a disaster. She would not listen to our concerns and insisted that we leave all while yelling and waving her hands.
Atrocious, discriminatory service. We are a mixed party (white, African Americans and kids). Not sure what triggered the lady, the newborn or POC but she denied us service.
Everyone before us (3 and 4 people parties) were seated, but on our turn the hostess said they are not equipped to seat 5 people. We said we will have the baby on our lap, and pointed out to the multiple parties of 5 people. She countered that they don't have tables available; we said we don't mind to wait and pointed to two empty tables.
At this point, we realized that she just didn't WANT to seat us. So we asked to talk to the owner, who at first tried to ignore us and just walk by. Long story short, she "too busy and doesn't have time to talk to us", thus normalizing the host's behavior.
Considering to file discriminatory complaint with the AG, but wanted to put this our their help others prevent the public embarrassment we had to endure.
worst place I’ve ever been to. Rude staff. Awful food. Awful service. Do not go here
Wonderfyl restaurant. It was exactly what I wanted. If you want something super fancy, go elsewhere. If you want fantastic Thai food and a cozy atmosphere do not miss this place.
Horrible customer service. My waitress was a miserable rude women. The food was mediocre. The drinks had barley any alcohol. I said something and the waitress maybe she had forgot she asked me if I was driving. So I asked her if their alcoholic beverages were non alcoholic!! Worst of all they charged their tip in advanced a “”service fee”” beware I’m sure people double tip.
Customers beware!
The first restaurant in my life have service charge written in the bill!!! How much we would like to give as tips is the customer’s right, the restaurant has not right to force the customer to pay a fixed amount!!! This is so rude! No wonder so few customers in this restaurant! A place we will never go again! Again, customers beware!
Very happy with everything we ordered. The food tasted fantastic and was excellent quality. We ordered to go, and the food was securely packaged for travel. Especially enjoyed the Golden Bags appetizer. Delicious and the presentation was impressive. Perfect for kids of all ages!
The food is fantastic and authentic. The only issue we had was the time to get our food (the reason for four stars instead of five). They are under staffed due to COVID.
*****Very quick reply!! The reply from owners was asking us to pick it up, but we can't drive from Michigan to Salem, MA to pick it up! The girl we spoke to had us describe everything in the bag, a blue bag, 4 souvenirs coins, a Christmas ornament, and a placemat with historical guns on it. She confirmed it and took our phone number, which the owners say they don't have. They even say they may not even have the bag! Again, we will pay for postage and their time to mail it to us.****
Food was awesome, best we had during our visit to Salem/Boston. Service was great as well. But, here lies the issue. We had such a great meal that when we left we forgot our bag with souvenirs in it. When we realized it was gone, 3 days later packing to go home, we called. Girl we talked to had the bag and all things in it. She took our phone number and said we'd pay to have it shipped. She said she'd pass that on to the owners. Now a week is passed an not one call!!! Never contacted by the owners!!! Too bad they ruined a great experience there!!! If the owners are seeing this, contact us immediately to work this out!!!!
Easily some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time (had Drunken Noodle, Panang Curry, and Chicken Pineapple). 10/10 would recommend.
Their pad Thai and peanut sauce are second to none. The food and service for me has been consistently great for over a decade .. 5 stars easily
The food here is always excellent and the staff very friendly. This is one of my favorite places in the area!
Food was good but service just okay. Experience could have been better
We went for lunch. The food was great. The lunch prices were only $7.50 for a meal. What a deal!! Fast & good service . We will go back for sure!!! Good chicken- no fat on it. Shrimp was cooked perfectly!!
Thai Place has been around for as long as I remember, and I always remember getting good food from them. My favorite is the vegetable pad thai and vegetable rolls. I'm so glad they're still up and running during the pandemic 💖

Absolutely Horrible, me and my girl both were served drinks in dirty cups that had what appeared to be dust or dirt floating at the bottom, the food taste like a TV Dinner and they tacked an outrageous $9 service fee to the bill, WHAT SERVICE!!!?? WE COULDNT EVEN GET CLEAN CUPS! then the heavy set manager lady had the nerve to point out 1 french fry that my 2 year old has dropped on the floor... what a joke, theyre lucky i didnt walk out without paying
An Asian lady did not want to sell me anything because she says that she has to go to rest, how is it possible if it is time for lunch
Chicken teriyaki was amazing,
see a few 1 star reviews & honestly I think they were probably stuck up people. The food was delicious everyone I came with enjoyed it.
& The staff we’re very friendly
Worst Food ! Ordered Pad Thai Noodles - there were No noodles. They were tiny thin soggy noodles and hardly any. The chicken was dry and tough ! No flavor to any of the food ! Worst Thai food I ever had !
We decided to go here because it didn't look super busy and the prices were good, with lunch specials and they had a full bar. Turns out they were only offering beer and wine , and mai thais but they ran out of mai thais but that was no big deal. Our appetizer took almost an hour to come out, if not an hour. People who came in after us were getting their meals before us. Our waitress was very sweet and apologized and then maybe another 20 mins or so we got our meals. The food was good but not worth the long wait. Im not sure if it was just an off day or what, but when the bill comes out its very hard to read and includes the service fee(gratuity) so something to keep in mind.
Another Salem staple. I have been going here for 10 years at least and Ginny is a wonderful woman, she always makes time to stop by our table for a quick chat and her husband is a fantastic cook! Love the massaman curry!
The server was so nervous I fell in love with her. Great food ! Go there
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I took my four year old in to use the bathroom. There were no signs on the door that said you had to buy something to use the bathroom. Then a woman came and said I needed to buy something to use the bathroom so I left without my daughter using the bathroom. My sister and nephew were using the bathroom and when they came out the owner harrassed them to buy something, so they bought two sodas and a water for five bucks. You think this would of ended there but the owner just kept going on and on about it for about five to ten minutes!!! Really lady? This could if been handled much better!
So far the best Thai food / Thai restaurant I tried !! So good and affordable the staff are very nice and friendly ( the guy and the lady owner ) !!
We were visiting Salem and as soon as we parked our car, we came across this restaurant and was all set to have a wonderful experience. But it turned out to be a nightmare. The lady, owner, started by scolding the other waitress who was trying to seat us. She looked angry and kept on repeating that our kids from the other table could not come to our table. I understand it’s covid times but of course the kids will approach us for selecting dishes from the menu. We agreed to that, too. After we ordered our meals, we asked her if we could order some beverages but without listening, she said, “No Green Tea”. We said we were not looking for free green tea but wanted to order beverages. She came after 10 minutes and said, “We will get busy, hurry up & order beverages”. While we were dining, she walked from one end of the restaurant to the other, speaking loudly and ordering her wait staff. It was irritating. Food was also only OK type. When we asked for the check, she approached our table with the check saying that she usually adds the “tips” on the check but since she was busy, she had no time to add the tips. Overall experience was IRRITATING & FRUSTRATING. But we did not want to ruin our visit to Salem, we went to a nearby place, “Rockafellas” & had a great time.
Great food, drink, and amazing service!
Great noodles. Best Thai noodles I've ever had. Good service and fair prices.
I went there with my friend because our favorite Thai place in Marblehead was busy. We saw the low prices and thought it would be alright, but the food is terrible (INSANELY sweet). If you know Thai food at all, you know this just isn't it. My "drunken noodles" were essentially drowned in sweet sauce, had zero spice, and tasted like straight duck sauce. My friend ordered chicken himaparn, and it was was just rice and the sweet sauce you get in to-go packets at Chinese restaurants, with steamed vegetables. Please do not waste your money here, even if the prices are cheap.
One of my favorite places to eat. They are doing outdoor seating as of June 2020. Great food with fresh ingredients made to order. Our favorites are the dumplings, scallion pancakes, Thai basil, jungle curry, chicken fever, drunken noodles and Thai iced tea.
Absolutely amazing, best fried dumplings and soy sauce I have ever tasted. The service was so kind and everything was very clean and comfortable! This is my obsession the tofu soup was also incredible
We love Thai Place. Amazing service, huge portions (especially for takeout), and kind staff. One time I arrived to pick up food and had forgotten my credit card - the owner let me take the food and pay later because she recognized me. The food itself is almost always excellent, with a few exceptions when I'm guessing someone different might be cooking. We love the Massaman Curry, Pad Thai (but order it spicy, otherwise it can be a little dry without the chili garlic sauce), and golden bags. We are loyal customers and love to support this place!
Nummy!!!!!
Easily the best restaurant I've eaten at in years!!! If you're in Salem and still reaching this, stop and get a table! The sake cosmos are awesome :D
I actually don't want to give a star, my experience here is very bad.I will go to this restaurant again forever. My family and I love Thai food. But when we came to this restaurant, the service staff saw that we had four children and arranged us near a back door. It was cold that day and someone kept opening the back door, and we felt very cold. And their dishes are not good, we ordered a grilled steak, and half of them couldn't bite. The taste is also average. Other customers did not know why they laughed so much when they ate half of the meal. My child was crying because of great fright. We left without eating.
Really good place and fast service! Friendly staff
Exactly what I’m looking for in Thai food take out. Quick, yummy, polite staff. Will be returning.
Best Thai on the North Shore! Love the new soups!
Amazing food wonderful service
My wife and I go here several times per year. The owners are super friendly (occasionally too much), and the food has always been good. There's a lot of variety. We're vegetarians, and there are plenty of options. Also, it's not usually too crowded, so there's rarely a wait.
Delicious food & some gluten free options
Not worth it says 6.99 lunches n yes sm
portions. So got buffaloed lol
Good food for the price. Please check the bill ( twice or thrice) before giving tip. They add the tip amount as service charge with the bill and then again, ask for tip and show the bill as PRE TIP Amount. I've attached the bill so that it help others. Most of the time when we are traveling, we tend to not check bills properly and think it's okay to tip.But this gesture is not cool at all... neither acceptable. One of our member was smart enough to do the math. It's a clear deception ... 🤷
However, food was pretty good as it's probably the cheapest in Salem area
We go there faithfully when we go to Salem. Usually good food, service is great and reasonable prices. Well, we went last night, I believe the prices were way more than usual. 18% service charge for 2 people to eat, attitude towardd EVERYONE the main waitress was waiting on. And took forever to place our order, never checked in on us, to get the check and even bring us back our card after paying. Food was not good either. Very disappointed and will not be going back.
I’ve been to so many Thai restaurants and this was the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Pad Thai had round noodles, almost no sauce and a little bit of everything else that’s supposed to be in it. My friends Tom yum smelled like something went wrong with it and she couldn’t eat it. They tried to convince us that’s the most popular dish and guess what we still got charged for it. Plus they charge 18% gratuity no mater what and you also get an attitude. Such a big disappointment.
The duck was great, but was served flat, warm soda.
Slow, rude service
Beware 18% service charge! The sign on the table reads "We reserve the right to charge you an 18% service charge". Translation is "We WILL CHARGE YOU an 18% service charge no matter what." If you are OK with that, the food was good. We went for lunch and ordered specials from the lunch menu and a dinner menu selection.
The food is very good, however it is ruined by poor service.
Terrible service and mean staff. If you don't want to be stressed, don't come here!
They said this is Thai food, are you joking? Worst Thai food I have ever seen!!! They say “we reserve the right to charge 18% service fee”, after adding this service fee, they call this is pre-tip. Joking?
Always a decent meal for a good price
Great little spot! Food was fresh and service was fast.
Delicious
