Upscale Thai cuisine, Shabu(hot pot), and sushi
I was here tonight for dinner and it was a great time. The drinks that I chose, my appetizer, and my entree - 'Jaes Duck with the sweet n sour sauce option' - were all amazing. I never thought I could like pineapple in sweet n sour sauce but as an accoutrement to the dish, it was surprisingly great. The meat was tender and juicy and was great along side my white rice. :)
Absolutely would come back!
Service was slow to start but picked up once we got to order. Mido brother had an interesting taste and probably wouldn't get it again but the Mongolian broth was nice and spicy. There was 4 at my table and we ordered 2 Shabu plates plus 3 add one, one appetizer and a salad.
If I move back to the area I will take my family
First time at this location - have been to the other one many times, always enjoy it. Pleased to say that the food was just as good, though the menu seemed larger.
The main difference was the ambience. Whereas the one at the Hilton Garden Inn is light and airy, this one feels like a steakhouse (would not be at all surprised if it once was).
While I prefer the atmosphere at the other one, I would absolutely give back to this one, and might prefer it for the more extensive menu
Great food, ambience. The "Shabu" hot pot is fun; you cook the food at the table in your choice of broths. Highly recommend the chive cake appetizer.
Second time eating at 7 Winter St, in Pittsfield, and it was just as delicious and comfortable as the first time! I was with a party of five for a weekend of leaf-peeping, and we had all eaten a fairly late lunch, so were planning to go light on dinner. We started with some cocktails and appetizers. The martinis are the size of a bath! You should not be the driver if you get one of these. Other drinks were excellent, too. The menu is large and varied, but unlike Jae's other restaurant, this one leans toward Thai, which is the specialty of the Thai couple who run 7 Winter St. The Tom Yum soup w/ shrimp was delicious, spicy and flavorful. The Gioza appetizers were awesome and beautifully presented, as were the Vietnamese Spring Rolls and steamed Thai dumplings. For main course I had a broccoli and shrimp stir fry in oyster sauce that was quite tasty. Others had green curry w/ chicken that got rave reviews and Korean chicken Katsu.
The staff were incredibly warm and friendly and were very attentive to us and, it seemed, to every other party in the restaurant at the time. I wouldn't say the service was fast, but that's not a bad thing. We arrived a little after 7, so there were probably a lot of meals already in progress by the time we ordered. But it's not the kind of place you would want to be rushed in because the interior is so comfortable and inviting. I was really impressed with the atmosphere and decor - it's a very handsome design with dark wood ceilings complemented by interesting bronze-colored tile work on the walls. There is a nice selection of Asian (Thai?) artwork around the room and on the walls. They also have a fireplace in one corner that is used when winter really kicks in.
The restaurant is at the top of a T-intersection, so you need to use some caution as you cross the street in front of you to enter the driveway. It is also somewhat concealed by four massive billboards that have been there since forever. But that's how you'll know it's there - It's "Jae's Behind the Billboards!"
If you are in the Berkshires area, I would highly recommend paying this spot a visit.
It's the only place in town to get hot pot, but the best Thai food overall is at Vong's.
Food was fantastic. A little pricey but Food was worth it.

The food, service, atmosphere is stellar. Very friendly staff. Every food item had a different taste, and all of them were mouth watering.
The pineapple fried rice was excellent! As were the dumplings and crab rangoons! I would definitely go back!
We love it !!

Came here for lunch and it is the best Thai food I ever had. A little off the beaten path, but worth it.

The food is amazing !! It feels like you could order anything and it could never go wrong.
New menu as of mid 2024. Mostly asian instead of steakhouse it once was. Curries are not to be missed, best I've ever had
Very similar food to the original Jae restaurant, food was enjoyable, will be back!
Best miso soup ever. Superbly run. Other dishes are fine, but it's not a destination place.
Excellent. Can't wait to return. Have reservations in 6 days.
We had an amazing evening at Jae’s. Wonderful setting, great service and the best sushi in Pittsfield. Check out their 1/2 price sushi specials before 6PM, great deal!
We had the pleasure of dining at Jae's twice in recent months. On both occasions, we were indeed very fortunate to have Brian as our server. Brian was friendly and welcoming, and he made us feel at home due to his positive energy. Food-wise, the highlight of my dinner on the second occasion was the Jae's Special Roll - delicious! We will be back, and we will ask for Brian.
Have been coming here since they re-opened. Food was wonderful, under Chef Ron Reda, then just okay. Service was very slow the last time and it was obvious that things had been cut back - like no Caesar salad prep at your table. This time three had the clay pot and found it fine; I had the grilled salmon which smelled upon presentation. It used to be served with a nice lemon/garlic sauce on top; this had a small tin of cold teriyaki sauce alongside. I tried dipping the salmon into the cold sauce to hide the smell and taste and then gave up, eating the vegetables and rice. Luckily I did not become ill. Sad to say, we’re done.
Loved this place. The chicken wings and bibimbap were awesome. Menu is much like the other Jae's restaurant but this restaurant is a cozy, low light, intimate spot. Really nice and our server was perfect even during a very busy night. We'll be back for sure.
Sushi was not fresh and mostly inedible , very disappointing. Taste the fish before you serve it!
Extremely disappointed that the “new” menu was basically an extension of the other Jaes(which I love) but I wanted something different as I was told when this place opened the food was delicious. The photos here do not represent the food. I had the teriyaki Salmon which was overcooked. Very little veggies on The plate and starch choices were white or brown rice. Go back to original menu and do more advertising. Serve good beer and create a specialty cocktail menu all of the popular places have them.
I guess it is super hard for a restaurant to be in consistent quality.
Management is just so not on par with the price anymore. Food quality is like roller coaster ride. You try your luck plz.
We did have a good experience first time went there and I gave them 5 out of 5. But now. After another 3 revisits. Me and my friends decided not to come to Jae’s anymore unless significant changes happen.
“Been in Berkshire area for about a year now.
This is the best steak I have had.
Perfectly cooked to what I asked. Flavor was just right on spot.
Will go back 200%”
I ordered the tuna steak, which I've eaten many times, however it was mushy n very cold. Thinking my husband and I won't return.
Sunday brunch was outstanding. Food very tastefully prepared. Restaurants seems to be a well kept secret.
Had the NY strip steak. Nicely spiced and cooked just the way I asked
Unfortunately, our salad had no dressing and took a while till we saw our waiter to tell him. Our steak was cooked wrong temperature, again after waiting to see him to tell him. Others had finished eating. We were visiting from San Diego, and this place was recommended, but nothing like what was described. The menu was completely different. Disappointed.
Jae's food is always delicious and satisfying. The cod was cooked to perfection and the French onion soup was divine. Would highly recommend and looking forward to my next visit.
Food was delicious. I had the Miso Cod and it was cooked perfectly. We started with a Caesar Salad prepared tableside as well as some Fresh Oysters. Friendly staff as well.
I’m assuming that the kitchen staff has changed since previous visits. We were disappointed with the quality of both the appetizers and the entree’s. The wedge salad was choppers lettuce with cheese and without dressing, the lobster dumplings were tasteless and the rib eye stale was of poor quality all at prices comparable to high quality eateries. If Jae’s doesn’t get there act together soon they will not be in business long. I would no longer recommend Jae’s.
It was ok. Pretty expensive for the experience we had. Had to ask for salt and pepper, food was under seasoned. The atmosphere is really cool.
The place was clean service was fantastic food was unbelievable
The menu is alright. The charcuterie board was good, and the steak and mashed potatoes were tasty
The restaurant is a very cool laid back spot. The food was amazing. I wish there were windows. When we left we didn't realize it was still day time outside.
The food wasn't bad a bit pricey portion bit on the small side from what you pay for nothing there really gave me the wow factor but I would give this place a second chance again sometime down the line.
