Siam Lotus is one of our date night restaurants. Management has changed, but the food & dining experience is still fairly the same. We have our favorites & tend to stick with those. The food is good and the wait staff is attentive.

We stopped in for a late lunch on a blustery weekday. The ambiance felt perfect, a freestanding fireplace in the middle of the room gave off warmth, dark paneled, with sculptures in alcoves, and quiet lush music (too many places these days play music so loud!). Our food arrived quickly and the presentation was so artful. Mine had a pyramid of really tasty jasmine rice arising from a colorful dish of green curry, simply fantastic tasting. Our fresh rolls were also beautifully plated, although I feel like a vinegar based sauce would be preferable to the plum type sauce - I'd ask for some next time because I love fresh rolls. It was lovely to step into this serene place and have excellent Thai food prepared and served with refinement and I will return soon.

Nice atmosphere. Large place had the fresh rolls which were delicious and shrimp pad Thai. The pad Thai here was particularly good because it was not swimming in an overly sweet sauce. Which is what you find at most places. It was well flavored and had a hint of stirfry to the noodles. More authentic, than the typical American approach, as I noted. Would definitely come back again.

Worst Pad Thai I’ve had in years. Tasted like propane and candle wax. Seems they also forgot ANY SAUCE AT ALL. Avoid at all costs. No peanut lime or green onion or bean sprouts either. Just greasy noodles and no sauce and terrible flavor.

I just had the worst vegetarian pad Thai that I ever had. I ordered to go 1 hour before the restaurant closes. There was no pad Thai noodles but rather a big lump of dough stuck together with no taste what so ever. This will be my last time going there.

Authe tic thai food! The satay beef was delicious and the peanut sauce paired well with it. I especially loved the panang curry. Definitely will be back again!

Little pricey for the portion sizes, years ago this was a great place to go to, now it's just a convenient place for people with money to go and have some type of privacy and have Thai food and drinks. It's not for a low income earner 🤣👍

We were a little nervous when we got there and were the ONLY ones in the restaurant (5:45 Sat night), but others started coming in shortly thereafter. They also seem to do a lot of takeout. We were very happy with the food and the service was great... fresh and good balance of flavors and not oversalted. Our waiter was very attentive but not overly intrusive. We definitely plan to go back!

Will not recommend this place at all! They charged a large party gratuity (20%) for 5 people.. did not disclose that anywhere on the menu or prior to serving us. Plus their menu is garbage! Other than the red curry, everything was tasteless and inedible! Will not be returning!

The food is good. The reason I am giving low score is because the quality in the food for a takeout is bad. I ordered a papaya salad and the lettuce wasn’t rinse at all. It was with many bugs. Definitely they need to put attention in their food when it’s take out

The masaman curry was delicious. I highly recommend it. The pad thai left much to be desired. The pad thai wasn't bad, it just wasn't very flavorful. I was also frustrated that the prices were higher than stated on their website. They charged me for the rice with the curry, even though their online menu says it's served with rice. According to their website, the meal should have cost $27, instead it was $35 ($17 curry, $2 rice, $16 pad thai). Thankfully I read some of the reviews that mentioned they don't include forks with takeout. They provided them when I asked.

You can order dishes without meat and ask to replace them with tofu. I ordered spicy fried rice with tofu and it was amazing and the quantity also was large.

I love Thai food. In fact I drive everywhere looking for a Thai food restaurant. This one is not it. The prices are to high and the amount of food you get it’s not worth it. I order spicy rice and crab ragoons and I was so disappointed. The rice was so spicy that that’s all it was. No flavor ! The crab ragoons tasted like nothin as well ! Even as hungry as I was, I could not eat them! Unbelievable. Never again!

Excellent food

We went at 8:20 pm which was 40 mins before closing they said we had to order in 10 mins and the kitchen closes in 10 mins . The waiter threw the plates on our table and she messed up our order . They started sweeping the restaurant while there were couple of us there which isn’t okay . Felt awful and the guy started clearing our plates while we were still eating . Although food was amazing but everything else was awful

Siam Lotus is among the best, quality Thai food I’ve had in Massachusetts. They were rumored to be closing, and Im relieved to confirm today that they’re not closing and ARE still open! Been eating there for 10 years, consistently great. Bonus: restaurant is beautifully designed with soft lighting, a great date-night spot, and a large bar.

Used to be good so not sure if this place changed owners or chef but omg did the food change. That was the worst the absolute worst pad Thai I have ever eaten in my whole life. Ordered to go and wasn’t given any utensils or napkin. Sorry to say but I won’t be coming back. If you’re the owner and you’re reading this please have your chef cook and you taste the food.

Service mediocre. Got apps wrong. Didn't have half the beer on menu. Prices good. Food quality is fine. Servers working hard but way under understaffed since new ownership. It is noticed and makes us unlikely to keep going.

I’ve always been a huge fan of this restaurant. I’ve been coming here since 1987. Then it closed for a bit. I was thrilled when I heard that former employees had bought it and were resuming the business because they were keeping the menu. But ordering has been problematic ever since. Today was the last straw that broke my loyalty. I was told they were too busy to take an order over the phone and they told me to order online. I tried but kept getting an error message that the card wasn’t valid - though the $158 order appeared in my pending charges 3x (for each attempt). I called the restaurant back and they essentially said “tough”. Didn’t even bother to try and take my order over the phone. Maybe they will always be busy, but it will never be from my business. I’m done. The former managers Angie and Paul would never have treated a customer like this.

The food is incredible. It really is the best Thai food I've had anywhere. The Racha Trio is really a stand out dish.

If I have one complaint it's just how cold the staff is. They aren't nice. They either hate their job or they hate other people.

We had dinner at 8pm. Sat by 8 10pm ordered by 8 15pm and then we were thrown out by 9pm because they were "locking the doors". You don't say that to people. We were almost done and I even paid the bill early to avoid this.

Look, I understand no one likes to stay late but you have customers for Christs sake. You don't treat them like that. Especially when we come all the time. If you're open until 9pm then you need to expect tables up until then. We came at a reasonable time. Do better. Your food is great and your service sucks. And it's unfortunate.

Siam lotus is a great place to get Thai food in the area. It usually doesn’t take too long to get your food and you get good service. Usually the restaurant is pretty empty so if you want a quiet, peaceful meal with no bratty kids or even people making noise, I recommend eating here. Their food is really good, and the best part is that it’s mostly pretty spicy. I think restaurants that aren’t afraid to turn up the scoville heat units are great. If you’re kind of a wimp and can’t take the heat, you could probably ask for it on the mild side, but I recommend going for the spicy dishes.

Best Thai food I've ever had

First off, I really like Thai food and eat it quite often, so was happy to find this restaurant was very close to our hotel. I was lead by the good ratings, but should have trusted my gut when we walked in on the Thursday evening before the 4th of July and the restaurant was empty.
Although the server was really nice, I hate to say this was the worst Thai food I've had so far. The beef with broccoli was totally bland and The Tom Kha soup had way too much fish sauce. To be fair, the papaya salad was okay-ish. Also what took the cake is they charge for rice, which comes with main dishes in every Asian restaurant I've ever been to.
I wish them well, but would not recommend this place to my friends.

Was shocked to see negative reviews! I’ve only recently begun eating at this restaurant but every time the food has been absolutely delicious, never once had a bad experience with take-out or dine-in. All together, a great restaurant!

The table is not stable. I place a drink before eating, but the waitress still has not brought it to my table for a while until I remind her. A can of Coke costs $3! The dessert (sticky rice with mango) is not fully cooked. Grains are still hard.

So, since it was Mother’s Day, me and my family were finding a place to eat out. We ended up finding this place and went to eat here… on a positive note, the shonburi chicken was overall pretty good, as well as the fried rice and tiger salad, the papaya salad was good and the flavors were well blended. The atmosphere was rather fancy and kind of empty for a fancy looking restaurant. Now onto the less positive aspects… they took quite awhile to serve our food. (which took about one hour.) even though the water was free, it tasted kind of like plastic, another drink we got was Thai iced coffee, it was on the sweet side but overall mediocre tasting for coffee. In addition the floor looked like it had a lot of dirt, even if it is just the texture, in plus there was too much open space which is the reason it looked empty for me. But overall I would rate this experience a 3/5 since I empathize with their staff and the waitress even said they were pretty low on staff and quite busy.

Absolutely the best Thai food anywhere. I had yellow curry that was perfectly spicy, veggies were crisp and fresh and the portion was generous. My friend had beef basil that was awesome as well. Staff is beyond friendly and service was very fast. The interior decor has a nice modern aesthetic and it has well spaced seating in this covid era. Highly recommend!

i’m upset about their hopefully temporary closing, because this is the best thai food around. everything i’ve had from here was so good and made perfectly. definitely go here if you like thai food and are in the area. i hope they open again soon :(

We hope this is only temporary! It’s our favorite of all Thai restaurants. We’ve been going to this resturant since my daughter was a baby and were planning on taking her out this weekend for her 30 th birthday!

We've been going to this restaurant for many years (including when it was in a different location down the street). As vegetarians, it can be hard to find an excellent meal at a restaurant, but at Siam Lotus we've never had a bad (or even mediocre meal). The food is outstanding and the staff are friendly and accommodating. When anyone asks for a Thai food recommendation, Siam Lotus is my only reply.

they need to let people know how spicy the food really is and this is coming from someone who is accustomed to spicy food (I am Caribbean). The average person definitely could not eat it. I really don't want to think that they purposely made the food that spicy because I was asking questions over the phone.

The food is fantastic. My wife and I live an hour away and we make an effort to come by to have a delicious dinner.

I usually get the Savory Noodle and my wife enjoys rotating through the curries. We also enjoy the wings, Siam rolls, and the shumai. They serve Thai iced tea with sugar and cream on the side - which actually makes more sense than a pre-made one.

Came here on a Sunday night and the restaurant was pretty empty. Maybe most of their business now is for takeout. We got the Curry Crisp and the Vegetable Rolls as appetizers, they weren't anything special but were still good. We got the Country Style Chicken Basil, Panang Curry Chicken, Duck Choo Chee, and the Pad Woon Sen. The food came out pretty quickly and everything was pretty good. The duck was definitely my favorite dish, and was a pretty good portion for the price.
