Casual spot serving a mix of familiar & unusual Thai cuisine, from pad Thai to melon curry.
Thai Garden has a touch of seasoned elegance to its dining atmosphere and a graceful quiet friendliness to its service. The food we have chosen is delicious (examples, Yellow Curry, and Pad Thai). The curry is kept hot in a bowl mounted above an enclosed flame. There is a good selection of beverages, alcoholic or not,
Delicious food and drinks, wonderful soups. Lovely decor, staff in pretty Thai style dresses. They treat my husband and me like their own grandparents! So kind and thoughtful. Our favorite place for lunch and dinner. Very affordable and QUIET at least at lunch.
Thai Garden, located on Bridge Street in Northampton, Massachusetts, offers a wide selection of authentic Thai cuisine that will satisfy your southeast Asian cravings.
We arrived as soon as the doors opened at 4:30 Thursday afternoon. The hostess recommended a table in the corner of the restaurant underneath a tent-shaped awning. Our server took our drink order (a Shiraz and a Sam Adams) as we perused the menu. Although the beer was good, the Shiraz tasted stale and something that you buy in a box.
We ultimately chose the Peanut Noodle, as well as the Chiang Mai Noodle dishes. The former consisted of thinly sliced chicken and steamed rice noodles immersed in a peanut curry, topped with string beans, onions, red peppers, crushed peanuts, scallions, and cilantro. One can substitute the chicken with tofu or pork for no additional charge, but the beef or shrimp option incurs an additional $2. The meal was great, with the curry very creamy and penetrating the chicken and noodles.
The Chiang Mai Noodle was also very tasty. It included your choice of chicken or beef in a homemade curry (likely made with coconut milk), with yellow noodles, red peppers, red and white onions, and topped with deep-fried noodles. Again, the meal was very tasty, with plenty of chicken, noodles, and onions. Due to the ingredients used, the curry isn't as creamy as the peanut dish, but it was quite flavorful and recommended.
Thai Garden was a delight. The service was timely, the servers were polite, and the restaurant was clean, with an atmosphere that was relaxing and inviting. There are plenty of nearby restaurants featuring a variety of national meals, but if you're in the mood for Thai, then Thai Garden has everything you want.
First time visit. We stopped for lunch and are grateful. The food was fantastic. My partner ordered the Yellow Curry with Tofu and loved the taste and texture of the curry sauce combined with pineapple and potato. The plate came with a generous portion of white rice. I enjoyed the Drunken Noodles. The sauce was perfect along with a generous mix of vegetables, chicken and shrimp. We both enjoyed an appetizer of spring rolls and I had the Coconut Lime Soup with chicken and mushrooms; very tasty and delightful. Yes we will make the 20 mile drive again to enjoy wonderful Thai cuisine!
Excellent food! Good service! Quaint little place right in downtown Northampton! Easy walking from side streets! We have been here several times! This visit we had Bangkok Chicken, Crispy Pad Thai, Prik Pow Fried Rice w Pork, Taro Bubble tea and money bag appetizers! The main course dishes (Pad Thai and Bangkok Chicken) were amazing. The tapioca in the bubble tea was still warm and very sticky it wasn't very good tea. The Pork Prik Pow Fried rice came w chicken instead of the pork we ordered, but was still fantastic! The money bags were awesome. We had a nice lunch here today! Thank you!!!
What a great spot! Amazing food including the Papaya salad! I always order it when I see it on the menu and this place did not disappoint 🥰 We ordered the Yum Yum soup and the peanut noodles with chicken for lunch and it was so much delicious food that we ate the soup and took the rest home for dinner! Excellent spice, wonderful flavors and fantastic all around! We will be back! Thank You Thai Garden!
Food is always good. Good gluten free items that I trust too. I have Celiac Disease and have never gotten sick eating here. Curries, pad thai, and fried rice are what I get, they're great, and haven't made me sick.

Delicious Thai food! Love the Tom Kar Gai soup and the Panang Curry Chicken... everything tastes fresh! Their tea's are my favorite :)))
This is the only Northampton restaurant that i recommend to my people for sit-down dining, and one of very few Northampton restaurants of any kind that i personally recommend to each and every person who visits or lives in our fair Pioneer Valley, and is looking to enjoy a delightful, exquisite culinary experience.
Delicious meal. Reasonable prices. Happy tummy!
Have loved this place in the past. Haven’t been here in years. Was in Noho for work. Ordered takeout. Was the worst Thai food I have ever had. Pad Thai was tasteless with a vague sour spoiled taste. Threw it out. Soup had no taste. Masaman curry was ok. Really disappointed. Yuck

Chicken wings were great, as far as the rest of the menu not too sure, I don’t eat fish and vegetables. Overall good place to eat, they should open up more space in the future.

We love this place. Moved to Colton over two years ago and we’re so happy we found this place. The food is so good and it is always made fresh when you order it, the drinks are so good too, their Thai Tea is really good. The one thing we love the most about this place is their customer service, every time we go, they’re so nice to us, they appreciate their customers.
this was so disgusting . My life passed before my eyes when the food was placed on the table. The waitresses look like they are being held hostage. Repulsive food. Save yourself! The fresh rolls or whatever tf they were kinda hit tho ain’t gonna lie.

Went for lunch and ordered the panaeng curry with chicken. It was delicious. The staff were so friendly and happy to have people enjoy the food. The space is on the small side but very homey.
Amazing food
Food was excellent, server was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy.

Definitely a must when in the area! Highly recommended.
Best Thai for 10 years and running
I am not a critical person but this was the worst food I have ever eaten. The steamed dumplings and tempura shrimp looked and tasted like they came frozen. The dumplings were thick and shrimp were like fried shrimp, not tempura breading. The Pad Thai smelled repulsive when they set it on the table, maybe tooooo much fish sauce? The noodles were overcooked, there were 3 mushy shrimp and a few pieces of chicken. Sorry to add the service was spotty, we thought they had forgotten us when it came time to order, get water refills and when waiting for our bill. Wisely choose a different restaurant.
I give Thai Garden 10 stars. The best Thai Food I've ever had. The staff was exceptional, our waitress went above and beyond. Highly recommend eating here

Great Thai food selection. People are kind and prompt to serve.
Simply perfect every time. I’ve eaten half the menu here and I’ve always been pleased.
Their massaman curry is poppin. I come here almost every week. A must try if you’re in the Valley looking for Thai!
The food was very delicious, I had the beef lunch special with garlic sauce and I took the Thai red curry home which was so flavorful and semi spicy too.
I loved the green curry, and my lovely date had mango curry that was equally tasty. I'll definitely be back.
Incredible! I had the eggplant tofu dish, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I can’t believe it’s taken me years of living in Northampton to discover this gem. Will be back!
Having duck at the Thai Garden has become a new year's eve tradition for us. We've never had service as slow as it was this year. After 45 minutes of waiting,, the Bangkok duck was as crispy and delicious as always, but steer clear of the imperial duck as the duck was soggy and the skin was rubbery.
Lovely place great food! We spent ~$25 for 4 people with 2 appetizers, 4 meals, and 3 desserts. Several nice veggie options for folks who are vegetarian or vegan. Overall very extensive menu. Definitely consider trying the peanut noodles!
The massaman curry was excellent. Service rushed us out a little, right at 9pm.
Fast and friendly service and delicious food and drinks! They are accommodating of vegan and vegetarian diets.
What a great spot! Amazing food including the Papaya salad! Great experience!
This place was ok, I wouldn't be opposed to going again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to drive there. Food had decent flavor, just not a lot like you'd expect with authentic Thai. The waitstaff was friendly. The place looked super cute from afar. We sat at the long table by the window, and the first thing I noticed was that it was filthy. The pink table cover was sticky and had dirt caked onto it. I think they were supposed to have a white cloth covering the plastic pink one, but it wasn't, and the silverware, I wouldn't say was dirty but had water spots all over it, making it look dirty.
Great Thai dine-in location in Northampton. The restaurant has a nice calm atmosphere with great decor. I got to try the Tamarind Duck which was simply immaculate and is the only reason that I am writing this review. The staff is great and checked in often with us at our table. Very satisfied as a customer and will likely be coming back here more often.
Thai Garden in Northampton is deLICIous, y'all!! Talk about inspired! Taste explosions of delight! Yum, yum, yum! I don't drive in noho unless it is incumbent upon me to do so, but you should go here, you lucky duck!
Amazing little restaurant in downtown northampton. Really nice, kind staff that makes sure they come in and check on you often.
Price-wise, it's a bit more expensive than some places downtown but not anything out of line with anywhere else you might go.
The food here is fantastic and has a very large selection of gluten free options, just be sure to ask the staff. Great atmosphere, good location. Try to get one of the window seats if you can, nice little booth to people watch while you eat.
They can do reservations although i don't think you need one. People start to pack in later in the evening but i've not had a problem getting a table.
They have a small selection of thai beer and some wines as well, all very good but a bit overpriced.
highly recommend the peanut sauce.
Great little spot, very friendly service, and delicious food. You can't ask for more.
Everything was delicious!
The Pad Thai was delicious, loved it. The restaurant is decorated nicely. The server was phenomenal I would finish my glass of water and right away I would have more.
Going to Thai Garden at night is like a drug to me. I am someone who is constantly in high-stress mode because of college, my job, business, and other things, but being in this atmosphere lightens the load. Aside from getting me addicted to their drunken noodles, the environment overall is very accommodating to the nervous system, and what I mean by that is the lighting isn't in-your-face, the noise level is tolerable, and the arrangement of everything is so clean and organized with an old-fashioned/traditional appeal. Makes me feel good just being there.
Having recently travelled to Bangkok, we were happy to find a Thai restaurant that offered authentic dishes. The food is consistently delicious and the prices reasonable.
Last night we brought our son and daughter-in-law (she’s Thai), for a Saturday night dinner. Arrived at 8 pm (the restaurant closes at 9). We were greeted not with a hello, but with “We close at 9 pm. You must order by 8:30.” Which was then repeated several times. I guess the staff wanted to go home. We purposely did not order drinks, appetizers or dessert, (finished our entrees and out the door before their 9 pm deadline), but felt a bit anxious the entire time. As if we were inconveniencing the staff.
The chicken in the pad Thai smelled rotten and the vegetable pad Thai tasted rotten as well. When we called them to complain they explained that the pad Thais are made early in the morning and sit out all day! The food barely had any flavor either. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, I’m very disappointed with the meal.
Love this place! Food always comes out quickly and is fresh and hot. Extensive menu with vegetarian and gluten free options as well as dessert and drinks.
This is extreme white people Thai food. There is barely any flavor, and the flavor that is there is just off. The Pad Thai is concerningly pale and tastes completely unseasoned. Better luck elsewhere.
Big menu and tasty flavors. Proteins were not as tender as I have had with other Thai dishes at other restaurants (I had the mango curry with chicken and shrimp, both overcooked and not tender). An open kitchen would be nice to see. Lunch pricing seemed reasonable at $15 per person with an appetizer.
We were told good food so we gave it a try. Hours of operation were said to be until 10pm. We arrived at 9 and were told they stop seating at 8:30.
We were told we could get an order to go. We did and service was quick.
We got our order with chicken and shrimp. One order had shrimp that was poor quality. Mushy not firm. Sorry to say I am disappointed.
I got a vegetable tempura appetizer and the avocado curry lunch special, and both were absolutely delicious, and the portions were larger than I expected. You definitely get what you pay for, and I really loved the food!
Great place, staff is fantastic and Fast.!, variety of dishes, ample menu, different levels of spicy, prices $$ you'll be happy, suggestions, ask to be seated away from a crowd, and by any chances to be seated next to that cubicle next to main entrance, , tha rest have a 👍 great meal.
Green curry with duck!
Greasy tempura. Peanut sauce tasted sweet only. Tofu tasteless. No one ever asked us how the food was.
I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and the quality of food has always been amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and service is fast as well. 10/10 recommend
I love this place. My best friend and I sit in the front window booth and eat the best Pad Thai in town. I tried their peanut noodles yesterday which is a curried twist on the classic... they are super vegan friendly!
GREAT green curry
Best pad thai this side of Massachusetts! Their beef pad thai SLAPS
I've found my place to go for Thai food! It is delicious and fresh.
One of the best Thai places I've ever had! Went last night and my fiancee ordered here food.we got home and I had to drive back and get another order! Now we are back today eating inside! Get the chicken/shrimp Pineapple fried Rice And Chicken Tempora With the best Sweet-and-sour sauce you will ever have!!! Friendly wait staff! And we're clean! Food Came out the same all 3 times!
Only one visit but would return. Wasn't expecting lunch specials on a Sunday but prices for most everything were less, so that was good. Food was well prepared and consistently good. My only complaint was not being asked by the waitstaff (who was very nice) what spice level I wanted. I ordered something that had a single chili pepper for spiciness and I wanted it spicier but forgot to tell the waitress. Usually they ask at most Thai restaurants.
We’ve been coming to this place for almost a year now and have never had a bad meal. Every new dish that we try completely changes our perception of what great Thai food is. Easy 5 stars, probably the best restaurant in western MA.
Good Thai restaurant that I could find here. Tôm Yum Koong and Red Curry are really good. While seafood are not outstanding as speciality or expected. Pad Thai is under average. Coconut Cream is really nice to finish the meal. Still recommend as you could not have better choice here. Staff is friendly and attentive.
We were a party of 3 and reserved a table ahead of time. While I am not sure about the weekdays, on sunday night, it seems to fill up at around 6:30 - 6:45.
Here were our experiences with some of their dishes:
- pad thai came without sauce and was white
- tom yum soup was okay, nothing remarkable
- seafood adventure, the stir fry seafood, was decent, but unremarkable
- Thai garden salad was very tasty, but the unseperated cabbage held it back a bit
- the red curry with duck was by far the best. Tasted amazing and felt authentic.
Other than this, the decor is cozy and creates for a great atmosphere and parking while hard to get right in front of the restaurant due to it sharing many spaces with other stores and being street parking, if you just go up the road there is an abundance of street parking only a few minutes away.
Will never order here again.
They ruined my order and did not offer to fix it
Warm environment, friendly staff, and great Thai food.
Delicious authentic Thai food that you can have as spices you want or as mild as you want and they're very accommodating to children My kids had sticky rice and chicken and they loved it and they got to try all these new and different things. They were able to see seven of us and very nice attentive but not annoying. Definitely will go there again
I really felt like eating some beef so I ordered a noodle dish and it turned out to be nothing more than a giant bowl of fried crunchy noodles with some really rubbery beef and broccoli placed on top, both of which were impossible to actually chew.
I honestly don't remember the last time I sent a dish back to the kitchen. There weren't any alternative options with this dish so I ordered a different thing entirely. A few minutes later, someone from the kitchen returned my original dish to me with broccoli that was slightly more chewable, topped with chicken instead.
By this time my daughter was pretty much done eating so I just ate a few pieces of chicken and took the rest to go in an attempt to justify the money I spent on it, even though if I was honest with myself, I knew it would wind up in the compost.
Delicious! Spring rolls, Crispy PadThai and mango sticky rice!
Excellent Thai. We've eaten here at least 20 times and never been disappointed.
Fantastic! Always delicious each time I come.
Best duck around. Everything on the menu is a win! Great staff!
Easily the best Thai food in the area.
I've been going here for year and really love it. The service isn't quite as good post covid but it's still one of my favorite spots in town.
Definite stop for me when I'm in Northampton. As today. I enjoy whatever I order and the prices are very reasonable. Nice cozy atmosphere inside. Staff is very nice. Highly recommend.
Very nice basil & chili chicken, not as hot as I expected. Nicely done.
Fantastic I found my new spot
The food and service is always great. Mild dishes are perfect if you just want a hint of spice. If you go for the spicy the Thai iced tea is great to cool the burn.
I used to go here all the time while living in Northampton. Cozy place with a nice ambience. Always loved their hot and sour soup and basil & chili dish. Servers were pleasant. It's quite the little gem.
This is my favorite Thai place! I either get the yellow curry or the Rad nar and both are fantastic!
I haven't eaten inside, but have had takeout many times. Nice variety, and delicious food.
Good Thai and Thai fusion dishes. Good experience
This small restaurant is still standing and for a good reason. We hd 5 apetisers ,fried tofu, vegetables tempura, chicken tempura.Everything was made with perfection and served with sauces.
Salmon was good ,and tofu was crunchy and served with sweet sauce .
I would recomend this place.
Great service .
Great food!
Can't go wrong here.
Great Thai place with excellent vegan options
Delicious, beautiful, friendly.
Amazing food and staff! Lots of vegan options :)
Simply a gem... love the people and the food at this restaurant. Prik King for the win.
Very nice cosy restaurant, with tasty food. A big plus - they cater very well for vegans, and can prepare most meals without fish sauce on request (unlike many other Thai restaurants we have been to). Highly recommended.
Delicious
Great service and high quality food. Had 'money bags' as an appetizer, which was shredded shrimp and water chestnuts with corn with a light sauce. Super unique and wicked tasty, same goes for our entrees of Pad Thai and Curry.
Will be back!
Not bad for the price
Good food, reasonably priced, relatively quiet, so people have a chance to talk.
Both dishes absolutely flavourless. Meat undercooked and no sauce on the pad Thai, it was completely white. Place looks lovely though and we were excited to go there. Ended up being a huge disappointment and not worth the expense. Service not personable.
Mango curry chicken is addictive!
Best pad Thai I’ve ever had hands down. I’ve lived in nyc and Boston and This impressed me. Thank you
Quaint and clean. Courteous waitstaff. Food very fresh and so many choices. Will return.
Husband and I have loved Thai Garden for over a decade! Consistently incredible food!
One of our favorite go-to restaurants. I love the pineapple fried rice. We always get some yellow curry and cashew chicken. It's all delicious.
The staff is pleasant and efficient. Eat in or carry out we've always been happy with the whole experience.
Good Pad Thai, quick service!
Ordered 2 vegetarian entrees and n
Both were mediocre. Broccoli was old, yellowed and canned corn prolific. Flavor was okay.
I ordered pad Thai. I was told they could make it gluten free. Apparently that meant giving me plain noodles with no sauce. I'm still shocked that they think someone would want to pay for that
Edit: responding to your question here because I don't see any option to reply.
I mean that there was no sauce. Plain noodles with chicken and green onion. I'm not sure how else to say it
I ate there once, and I can’t wait to go back. We ordered some apps and the crispy duck, and it was all amazing. It is no doubt one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Amazing Food.
My partner and I savoured every bite! Efficient, friendly, and COVID conscious service!
Best pad Thai in US.
This is the Thai restaurant in the area that won't let you down. Always reliable for a good spicy authentic meal. You can't go wrong with any fish at this place. The fresh roles are one of my favorite appetizer. The veggie tofu pad thai with the spicy sauce is a go to when I'm craving that food.
Everything tasted great, I really look forward to reading here again.
Best Thai food in the area.
Nice restaurant, great service, great food, will certainly go back. Thank you for your hard work! Very tasty and good portions! Just really good across the board.
Great service, amazing food.
Crispy chicken pad thai and mango duck are our favorites. Delicious every time!
Super disappointed in our order, ordered curry and received no white rice. When we called to remedy it they refused to acknowledge they forgot it saying they didn’t give rice with curry. We have ordered before and there has always been rice. Even if they changed the way they do things they did not tell us when we ordered. Will be going to Shallot exclusively from now on.
Excellent, authentic, and delicious!
We've been here several times and have always had a great experience.
We have been going to Thai Garden since about 2000. Every single meal we have gotten over the years is 100% perfect.
We've eaten here alot and never disappointed. No with covid we pick up and go. The portions are good and they have the best tasting Thai food around. Best Pad Thai and excellent curries. Worth the wait on weekends when they are seating you.
Had a fantastic bowl of chicken red curry with jasmine rice. Mango sticky rice dessert and their Thai Iced Tea are really good too!
Went around 2pm. 3 other people (at 2 tables) in the restaurant.
Same terrific food, same terrific service ( a few minor changes to minimize contact with server).
Our 1st inside dining experience (ANYWHERE!) since March. Felt safe
Very relaxing and a cultural experience. There food is amazing! Highly Recommended.
Loved it! Amazing appetizers good Thai food first time trying duck and i was amazed i actually liked it.
Chiang Mai noodles are delicious!
Delicious food and fantastic staff
Amazing food and service
the best pad Thai forever
Very good food and service.
Awesome sports bar. Huge sceeen!
The best Thai place in Northampton. The service was great, and the red curry was excellent!
Best Thai restaurant in western MA their food is always do full of flavor and fresh.
If you love Thai food this is your best choice
Been many times, consistently lovely, excellent sit down experience. Great curries, pad Thai, rices and more. Solid Thai food.
Good, straight forward, consistent, tastey Thai food. Their lunch in specials are super affordable and delicious. Kind servers.
Everything is always very good. Even better during the week when it's a little slower.
I liked it. I am very picky on how pad thai is prepared, it did not meet those standards. But overall it was good
