I have been going to this Restaurant since 2015.I used to love this restaurant. Food was always spot on. It's cooked in the simplest way. My most favorite is the Fisherman Platter. It's fried fish with this spicy sauce. Now they have change Manangement over the years. And the food quality has gone down hill. I moved to a different town and was so excited to get some taste of Thai, ordered my Favorite food, Fisherman Platter last night and I was disappointed. Why put bread crumbs on a Fried Fish? Just leave the fish alone, simple and crispy once fried.
We tried Thai Amarin on a week night and really enjoyed ourselves. It was not too busy but not deserted either. The ambience was lively and the staff was friendly and patient too.
A special mention for the person who took our order(I wish I had caught his name): we were a group of 7 and we ordered multiple appetizers, main course dishes and beverages with quite a few specifications. He managed to take our order without writing it down and got it right, including all the specifications! We were skeptical about our orders, but were pleasantly surprised. Thanks for that!
About the food: Firstly, considering we weren't the only group in the restaurant, the food came out pretty fast. The portions size were good and the ingredients were fresh! We loved the taste overall. The only thing we felt was that mushrooms weren't cooked enough in our entrées. But otherwise, can't think of anything negative about the experience.
Will definitely recommend and visit again!
Ambience & service - A typical family restaurant vibe, the service was quick as compared to other casual dining restaurants. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Appetizers -
- chicken Satay 🌟🌟🌟 the chicken was a bit over cooked but it still had the flavor.
- crispy spring roll 🌟🌟🌟🌟 not very oily which I liked and rich in flavor.
Mains
- yellow Thai curry & green curry were really tasty but could have been more spicy.
- pad Thai was absolutely delicious with a good balance of spice and sweetness.
To have the complete experience, I would recommend to have the Thai ice tea and iced coffee along with the food.
This is a good place. I did not try Thai food there but I tried sushi and they were good. The atmosphere inside is nice and the staff is friendly. For the dessert I had fried ice cream, it was tasty. The place is located in a tricky location, a little bit hard to find but overall everything is good.
Amarin offers a light, bright style of Thai cooking, quite different from the creamy sauces at most area Thai restaurants. This style calls for very fresh protein, vegetables and herbs, as the sauce cannot cover up ingredients that are less than perfect. The curries are fresh, with a clean, light sauce. Each dish is prepared fresh and arrived hot from the wok.
The dining room is slightly below street level, nicely presented. The table is well presented, and the room is decorated with interesting Thai artworks.
Service is excellent. Our server paid just the right amount of attention and was a pleasant and charming person.
The restaurant is on a busy corner but there is lots of parking at the building.
Excellent fresh food! Chicken pad thai with with tofu was great!
Better then last time.. but maybe it's me the portions for lunch specials are basically a little more than large table spoon of the entree? Food was good but as the Wendy's lady said "where's the beef "
Dine in. Very nice staff. I had the basil fried rice which was pretty delicious.
Visited from Detroit and found this very solid Thai joint in Newton Mass. The pineapple fried rice was delicious and the service was outstanding.

Excellent food and service. Our favorite Tai restaurant in the Newton/Watertown area.
Amazing spot!!!
Great restaurant, nice atmosphere, great food, amazing service!
I get the soft shell crab curry which is amazing!
Close to Sheraton hotel, so convenient (I thought).. ordered the Chicken Satay & Chicken dumplings. Dumplings were cold, when I told the waiter he was very apologetic but then brought them back after a quick hit in the microwave. It also seemed too fast to cook Chicken skewers from fresh, I literally had my starters within a few minutes (not normal)
My main course, Pad Thai was ok.. though the chicken wasn’t great. Very disappointing considering all the good reviews. I obviously am used to better quality Thai /Asian cuisine. A real shame, consider other restaurants before you eat here.
The worst Thai food in Boston. Food is tasteless, curries are bitter and unnecessarily spicy. WORST EVER! Huge regrets. Close down if you don't know how to cook! So disgusting
We ordered mango curry. It was awesome. We ordered Tom Kay Gai It was awesome. The cashew chicken thing I didn’t love, but I think it was just my personal preference.
The energy is really good in this place. And there’s lots of parking behind it.
Still one of my favorite places to get Thai food. There is street parking in the area. I think if you happen to be in the area and a parking spot it’s worth trying! I always try to find some time to get food with friends here cause of their many food options!
Good local Thai Place. Good service with nice and friendly wait staff.
The food was amazing! It was delicious! The meats were fresh and the vegetables crispy!
I would highly recommend
Our meals were tasty, and the waitstaff very attentive and pleasant. Waitstaff were understanding about a food allergy, as well. Tried tofu royal and tofu cashew. Plentiful vegetables and tofu nicely marinated.
It was quiet over lunch time. Service was great. And the food was tasty!
One of my favorite places to get Thai Food! The service is great, and the food comes out quickly. I typically get the Spicy Pad Thai, and I customize it. It always comes out perfect!!!
If you like Thai food, you have to come to this place. The service is on top of things, the menu is broad and affordable, and the space is large and comfortable.
I am admittedly a huge fan of spicy Thai food, and this place does not disappoint.
Usually, I have to do a bit of explaining to get pad thai made spicy, but here it is on the menu! They don't make it all that spicy by default, but this is New England, where the locals are not famous for heat tolerance.
I had a tofu green curry (asked for Thai style) and sizzling fish platter tonight. They both were delicious! Thank you 😊
P.s. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures because they both were too tasty. Highly recommend.
Gift card purchased 12/2019, didn’t use in 2020 and paid cash for our purchases to support local biz. Forgot about the card and tried to use recently they denied to accept…is 7 years in Mass that a gift card is valid….waiting to hear they will fix this. Otherwise, food is delicious
Pad thai was super sweet.
Average and overpriced.
Very authentic Thai cuisine.
Great and fast service! Amazing food includes: crab Rangoon, spring rolls, curry, beef broccoli and crispy chicken pad Thai! Don't forget Thai iced tea!
I like everything my party ordered.
I used to love Thai Amarin but recently their food (take-out) has been hit-or-miss. Sometimes the paid Thai is completely flavor-less. Vegetarian dishes and fried rice recently were fine but lacked flavor. I ordered a side of brown rice but it was more like a wild rice pilaf that didn’t go with my meal. Crab Rangoon were undercooked (but other times have been great). The staff is great, good menu, and restaurant is always clean and welcoming.
Very good spot. Staff is great and the drunken noodles and pad thai are great
I ordered yellow curry online and I was told that it doesn’t come with rice when I picked up my order there. So I have to make another payment for a 2 dollars box of rice. It sounds ridiculous! I’ve been ordered yellow curry so many times from different restaurants. This is the only one that I have to purchase yellow curry and rice separately!
Excellent food, great spacious and bright atmosphere, attentive service, and generous portions. My favorite place for Thai food in the Boston area
This place is awesome! Ambience, service, food all three are great. Don’t miss Crispy chicken pad Thai when you’re here!!
A hidden gem. Best Thai food I’ve had in the area (disclaimer that I’m not Thai so I can’t really be the judge I suppose, but nonetheless). Every dish I’ve ordered here is perfectly seasoned and delicious. High quality meats. Big portions. Beautiful atmosphere filled with plants and comfortable, spaced out seating (feels very covid safe). Fast service. I discovered Thai Amarin on grubhub where they often have promos/deals. Going in person, the food tastes even better. Get the spring rolls — the dough tastes fresh and homemade. Best in the Boston area. The Tom yum goong has such well balanced flavors. Pad Thai and chicken basil are 1000/10 too
Husband ordered red chicken curry and dumplings. They were good. I ordered a shrimp salad $15 - 3 cold shrimp (should have checked whether hot or cold). It was poor, brought out with the starter. Husband’s dishes were being cleared away whilst I was still eating. Shrimp salad was poor and miserly, overall experience poor.
The beef and chicken broccoli tastes so basic. But the crispy duck in sweet tamarind sauce are really good. They have good brown rice for healthy options. Friendly for baby as well, quiet place and polite servers. I only put 4 stars because Ive tried better ones around Boston.
We love the food there, especially the appetizers. Careful if you look at the menu on their website, prices are not up to date but they no longer own the domain so they can't change it.
Very nice place to eat. Great for work lunch
Our neighbors are great, great fresh food!!
Cold by the window.
Good Thai food in a nice place. Great service.
Good food good service
Good selection of Thai food.
I like this place a lot and ate here two days in a row. I needed a place to eat during my visit to Boston. The restaurant at my hotel was not available. The service was quick, the personnel was very kind and the food was good.
Ordered takeout for the first time here. People liked the noodle dishes they got, drunken noodles were quite spicy, but that's how they're supposed to be (ordered "medium spicy"). The curries were also ordered "medium spicy", and they're supposed to be spicy, but the curry we got was basically ginger-flavored coconut milk, barely any spice at all. It did taste good, but it's just not what was ordered. People ordering Thai food expect curry to be spicy, especially if they order it spicy. There was a mild and a no spice option for people who just wanna drink coconut milk. Also annoyed that the curries don't come with rice – for almost $20 a dish, just throw in a little scoop of rice so we can actually eat the food you gave us! I had to wait half an hour for rice to cook after getting home and finding no rice in the bag. I should've just made curry at home at that point and then it could've actually had some spice.
Great neighborhood Thai restaurant. Very high quality and a beautiful space. Underground parking available.
Nice place and friendly customer service
Restaurant confirmed our order and 15 minutes later canceled it at their closing without any explanation. The only possible solution was they changed their mind and didn't feel like working anymore. Could've been a bit more considerate and canceled without first confirming our order so we could've ordered from somewhere else.
The pad Thai and drunken noodles are absolute smackers. Order them on the spicy side -- even their mild is less than mild IMO.
This is the best Thai noods I've had and I can't make it through a whole week without returning for more!
OMNOM
Worst Thai food I ever had… even the white rice is over-watered. They serve fresh roll with RAW shrimp, disgusting! And not sanitary!
Taste disgusting
Staff was not friendly I would say kind of rude
Still good Thai food after many years we haven't been back.
I've been coming here regularly for a few months. Everyone that works here is great but Nicky usually takes care of me and she is fantastic. I've been in the industry for about 10 years so I really appreciate and notice when people are excellent. She is always prompt, courteous, professional, has a great memory and she's detail oriented. I'm always taken care of quickly and the food is also great. Thank you for being a wonderful lunch spot for my breaks at work, my co-workers also enjoy getting take out.
First time ordering. Ordered red curry. Order arrives via DoorDash and there is no rice. I call and apparently if you want rice, it's a separate order. That's the first time in 30+ years of ordering red curry that I was told rice isn't included. Their online ordering system did not mention that rice wasn't included. It also did not list in the description of the dish that there was no rice included. Nor did it prompt me to order rice (because it isn't included). The curry broth was good - lots of veggies but very light on the chicken.
Place has got a good vibe and well located on the main road. Wide variety of items in the menu. Thai ice tea was great. We ordered crab Rangoon, sushi’s, shrimp and chicken appetisers and main dishes. Taste was ok. Drunken noodles was good.
Sushi was ok. Fried nice was ok.
Decided to visit this restaurant as it had decent reviews, and was close to our hotel. We were visiting from Canada and had only large denominations of US cash on us, aside from change. We ate the food, which was alright, smelled kind of like wet dog, but tasted good nonetheless. At the end, they brought our tip back (Which was just below 15%, and our only US cash available aside from large bills), and told us it wasn't enough of a tip, giving us a tip guide. My family was appalled and walked out. I made an effort to go back and explain that we only had that cash amount available as tourists, and that if they wanted to take the tip, I'd pay with my debit card, to which they refused, and said since our order was in cash, they would only take cash. Needless to say, they got no tip, and this review.
Horrible food. Avoid

Really liked the food! We ordered mostly appetizers (golden sacks, edamame, spring rolls, wonton soup) and dessert, with one entrée. The ambience was warm, and the service was good—though our server seemed a bit unenthusiastic but followed through on everything with perfection.
Best Thai around! Always my go to place.
I was pleasantly surprised with Thai Amarin. The staff was cordial, attentive and the food wasn't bad. I wish they wouldn't shy away from some traditional Thai dishes and provide Thai fish sauce with chillies to give the food some zing.
This is a good place. I did not try Thai food there but I tried sushi and they were good. The atmosphere inside is nice and the staff is friendly. For the dessert I had fried ice cream, it was tasty. The place is located in a tricky location, a little bit hard to find but overall everything is good.
This place was sure exceptional, exceptionally bad that is. Every single dish came colder than a dead body in a ditch on a winter night. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. Hot sake tasted like grain alcohol. After sending the food back, they still decided to include those dishes in the check. Sadly, on a very busy night, there was only 1 server. I'll finish with a Simon Cowell's famous quote: " It's a "No" from me."
The food here was delightful, as were the atmosphere and the service. I had the Tofu Cashew, and my companion had a duck dish. Divine! I left very happy. To top it all off, the prices were shockingly low!
The restaurant is amazing. The food was great well made and flavorful. the staff were all so polite and accommodating. Good atmosphere and will 100% go back.
Amazing Thai food! Love to go there for that Kao Soi Gai and Kui Gai. Their drunken noodles are one of a kind as well!
Really tasty food and beautiful ambiance
Very fine Thai food
The amount of food getting much less, and the price stay high

The restaurant is on a busy corner but there is lots of parking at the building.
The atmosphere is nice and the place is spacious. But me and my friends tried Pad Thai, different flavors, and in all of them the peanut sauce was WAY TOO SWEET
Was ok. Did pick up
Passed this place many times. Very good food!
This is amazing Thai food! Everything from presentation to taste to the ambiance and service of the restaurant is great. Would recommend this place.
We tried Thai Amarin on a week night and really enjoyed ourselves. It was not too busy but not deserted either. The ambience was lively and the staff was friendly and patient too.

Not the best in flavor - kind of mediocre.
So delicious! The Pad Thai was exceptional. Wonderful food.
Love it
Very consistent over the years, I have been going here since 1990 and it's always very good. They take special orders and the staff is already very nice. I like the drunken noodles, it is a little spicy and they go a slightly heavy on the oils, but all their dishes are well done. All their dishes have great flavors and I come here at least 2 times a month!
Bad service
Amarin is one of the best Thai places around if you ever get the chance you'll be doing yourself a favor to go there.
Delicious food and comfy environment.
Not like it used to be,going to look for a new place
Drunken noodles were pretty good
I really miss be Old owner. The food was yummy and the service here is always really good. But he always made going there feel like a family reunion and we really miss it.
Fantastic Thai food
Excellent service. I had vegetable pad Thai. It was really flavorful without being extra greasy. The person attending us was very patient and kind. Nice place for yummy Thai food!!!
The last time I ordered sushi it was a good amount in each roll and they were packaged separately. This time it was two rolls 4 pieces each shoved into one container. Definitely not what I received last time. Last time I also got edamame which was inedible. I don't know if it was over cooked or what but there was this slimy skin that was underneath the pod, then the bean. I have had edamame many times, it was never like that. The good is usually good here but this time I felt ripped off.
Thai Amarin quality is like none other! I thought I'd had good Thai food but coming here was like tasting my favorite dishes for the first time. my favorite place to get Thai around Boston!
I live their foods and the environment was good
The food in this restaurant is very good and the person who served our table was very polite and kind. Unfortunately the behavior of the manager was very disturbing. About six minutes before the closing time he came to our table unexpectedly and said "We are closing in five minutes", with an angry tone as he quickly collected the menus and everything else from the table. I realize that we were the last group of people in the restaurant but we all found his behavior very unfriendly and offensive. His unfriendly gesture ruined a nice evening for all of us. I hope he shows a more respectful and friendly attitude toward the guests in the future. Respect and good hospitality are as important the quality of the food in a good restaurant!
Food is ok, service is terrible. Waited 20 minutes past my pickup time for my food that was over done and over priced.
Great food
Good Thai food but I have had better Thai food
My favorite Thai food in the area :)
I am very pleased with the service quick and convenient, people are welcome ❤️
Good food all day and night
Revised review: there are new owners and a new menu. Portions are smaller, things are over cooked, not so much sauce.. not so much going there anymore.
Very good Pad Thai, one of the better Thai restaurants in Boston.
We ordered delivery to our hotel. Soup and curries were excellent but no rice was included. I’ve never had Thai curry that did not come with rice. Must rice be ordered separately?
Revising my review as the past 4 or 5 (takeout) ordered have been of poor quality.
Original review:
Pad Thai, pad kee mao, and pad see ew are all great. Favorite shumai and golden baskets around.
I also like that they accommodate adding spiciness to non-spicy dishes.
The best thai food in the Boston area. Other places don't hold up the food and environment. The service is unmatched and extremely service for pick up. I highly highly recommend going here.
Vast range of food all extremely delicious
I have only ordered takeout from Thai Amarin but my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I usually order the Chicken Gaprow and have never been served a bad dish. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind and have thrown in extra sweets here and there for my continued patronage. Can't recommend Thai Amarin enough, their quality of character and cuisine is what everyone should hope to find in a neighborhood restaurant.
Good Thai food. I have not personally found better in Watertown, but it may be out there. Enjoyed the golden bags, and Pad Thai. My wife got the black pepper chicken with mango curry. It was great.
The place is hard to see because the name on the window is at the bottom and in white lettering. Also it's just Amarin. The food was tasty, came out of The kitchen quickly and wasn't very hot. The waitress could have been more pleasant, there was one other table besides us when we arrived so you'd think she'd be happy for the business. Also this is just beer and wine. There are some photos here that are misleading, they do not have cocktails as shown.
Great food!
