First time Last Time! As a chef, I don’t usually order out or eat out. But i was enjoying a lazy day, and decided to order from Spicy Lime since I love Asian cuisine and leave that for when I do eat out. . So I Chose something that I thought would be very delicious, but was quite disappointed. I ordered the Volcano Duck and the Hot and Sour soup. First of all although the soup was very good , it wasn’t very sour. (Have had much better) . The Volcano Duck was far from being “volcanic”, as it was quite bland and lacking flavor as also lacking in duck with only a few, small pieces among the soggy vegetables, all swimming in far too much sauce. Hardly worth the $28.50 price tag. As I searched for it I couldn’t help remembering that old Wendy’s commercial….Where’s the Duck?? All in all it was a bit of a disappointing experience and also my last time that I will order from Spicy Lime.

Hands down, some of the best Thai food on the South Coast. Awesome flavors in everything I’ve tried. Very generous with the portions and they don’t skimp on the protein and vegetables.

They’re take-out only since COVID, so worth knowing that ahead of time. Facebook has the most updated menu. A great part of the downtown New Bedford restaurant scene!

Love the green curry with tofu. I asked to be spicy so they gave me an extra red sauce. It was ok though. The rice had a nice flavour. And the portion of the curry is very full filling. I am very happy for that.

It is a shame you can’t dine-in yet, just take out or delivery.

My only complaint is I found a couple of the dishes to be hit or miss but once you find your favorites, there’s no going back. We love the Thai lettuce wraps, crying beef, basil fried rice, papaya salad, crispy chicken, and lime rickey drink. I’ve been disappointed with the soups and pad Thai on several occasions so we avoid those now, but overall it’s great and we order from here constantly

It’s a curry but very watery veggies are overcooked no flavor no spice , chicken is pre cooked and added later, it’s like chewy no taste of chicken at all . it’s just you drinking green colored soupy thicker water no salt , way they cooked this food no heart no hard work no need to tell more waste of time and money !!!!!!!

The most authentic and delicious Thai food prepared with care in the heart of historic downtown New Bedford. Don't skip the crab rangoon, fresh rolls, tom kha soup or drunken noodles. Favorite stir fry: Chicken Spicy Eggplant

Basically take out only, and have read the previous reviews about the 'dine in' aspect. Okay, its not great as far as aesthetics, the food more than makes up for it. Its a helluva lot more authentic (IMHO) than the 9th Monarch, or the lesser level, Sivalai for local Thai food restaurants (unless you want dine in, then go to the latter)

Its THE choice for more authentic Thai dishes compared to that what's within a short radius if you're on the South Coast.

Would have loved to try out this local Thai spot, but when I came by at 430pm on a Saturday (a time their hours stated they would be open) nobody was here. It's not a holiday, so I'm not sure why. I'm highly disappointed. Was really looking forward to this visit.

We're from out of town and this place was next door to our hotel. Phenomenal food! You have to have the Thai iced tea.

It’s an absolute disaster. I have ordered spicy basil fried rice (chicken) from here and the chicken smells. The hilarious part about this dish is they call it spicy by providing a small amount of hot pepper flakes( chilly flakes) in a small container. I guess any owner with a bottle hot pepper flakes in their inventory can call their dishes and restaurant spicy. What a joke!! I was so hungry and it was a disaster meal for me

I have been here two times. The first time I was supposed to call before picking up my food I called for 10 minutes and no one ever answered the phone I had to go inside which I wasn't supposed to in order to let someone know that I was there to pick up my food. The second time I went you know they repeated my order back to me over the phone they still forgot my pad tie. I had to go back from home to pick it up when I finally got home to eat the food was very bland. Definitely not a great experience and I will not be back

I love this place. Great staff, cute, little, intimate dining. I am the type of person who has a favorite item at every restaurant I go to, and I usually will only order that. At spicy lime, I can get anything and I know I'll love it. So worth it, a New Bedford staple & a great member of the downtown community.

Not sure how to feel... We ordered for pick up, they told us an hour and half wait, said they would call us if the food was done sooner. An hour later they call knowing it's close to their closing time. We get there and they gave our food away saying they thought we were a no show?? Made no sense at all. You obviously have to give people time to drive there. On the up side they did re-make the food after they had already closed the kitchen so it was freshly cooked but that meant having to wait in our car for another half hour. On top of that the prices are very high the Pad Thai was mushy and tasted like nothing but garlic and had fishy taste to it and the dumplings were so over fried they were burnt
I don't recommend eating here and I definitely won't ever again.

I've enjoyed Spicy Lime since they opened years ago. They have never served me a meal I wasn't completely in love with. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly portioned. The service is always friendly and attentive. They even cater to all levels of spice, from non-existent to blazing, searing hot. This is a fantastic place for either dining in or take out, and I highly recommend everyone give Spicy Lime a try, whether they're familiar with Thai food or just feeling adventurous.

I've been enjoying Spicy Lime's excellent Thai food for six years now and decided it was time to give them a great review! The food is super tasty--I highly recommend their Yellow Curry (mild) with Chicken--you won't be disappointed! Their "Fresh Rolls" are a great app if you're looking for something light, (I like them in the summer because it's a nice balance to the heat of a curry and in the summer there's just something about a light, veg app that's refreshing. I personally love their gyoza, and often indulge in a Thai Iced Tea too. It's a cute small restaurant and the owners are super nice. It has a casual atmosphere--I often end up there with a friend, but you feel like ordering to-go, you can phone in your order and pick-up. I will always recommend Spicy Lime for anyone who likes Thai--it's brilliant!

Very good food quality in a basic small unrenovated storefront. I'm partial to their fresh rolls, green papaya salad, and Thai lettuce wrap. Their Thai standards like pad thai, tom yum, and curry dishes are good. In a large west coast city with a large Asian population, the food quality would be a bit above average. In New Bedford, it's very unexpected.

Just ate there and will NEVER go back there. I ordered crispy fish. When it came it was burnt to a crisp. You could barely chew it without your teeth breaking. When I told the waiter how bad it was his response was "Well, that's why they call it crispy fish." HORSEPUCKEY!! It wasn't crispy fish it was freakin "burnt fish." I guess that's why the entire restaurant was empty. we should have KNOWN BETTER. never AGAIN! Awful experience.

This is by far the best restaurant Downtown. I highly recommend the Masaman Curry, the Volcano Duck, and the Red Curry. The food is very spicy so unless you're confident I would start with either medium or mild and work your way up from there. While the food is exceptional, the service is even better. If you're in New Bedford this is the one restaurant that you need to try.

Bottom line price is good, portion is perfect, taste is exceptional.

If you are driving or walking around the downtown area you might not notice this modest little restaurant. IT IS THE BEST FOOD IN TOWN. (And we have lots of great food in this town!) Strong IPAs and many other craft beers and wine available. Handmade, fried gyoza is to die for. Ask for spicy and you get it. Curry is awesome. Noodle dishes with basil, or pineapple, and/or ginger are awesome. Peanut sauce is awesome sauce. I'll be going back tonight to eat more spicy food and drink another IPA.

My dining partner had the Rainbow (pad Pak Ruam Mit), a stir fried medley of in season vegetables in house special sauce. She raved as she ate it. Spiced perfectly. Vegetables cooked perfectly with snap.

While we had dinner, a number of people came for take out. They do a booming take out business.
