Thai-Vietnamese fare, from banh mi sandwiches to pho, served in handsome, brick-walled space.
I really wanted to like this place but I was sadly disappointed. We ordered pad see ew. The spinach rotten but used in the food anyway. I removed it before eating. The dish did taste okay otherwise. The chicken soup was simply broth nothing in it nada. The crab rangoons were tasty. I'm afraid I won't be back
Tasty food, had some issues with a 'mild' version of the dish not being so mild. Crispy chicken and sweet chili sauce that comes with crispy chicken Pad Thai is super yummy. Pad Thai was also pretty good, though I've had better. Chicken larb was ordered by my dining companion and was the too spicy dish. It wasn't too busy while we were there and we managed to find a spot in the parking lot behind the store. Service was good. It is on a main road so when the door is opened by someone coming in it can be loud.
It is hard to beat the offering of this restaurant! They have: good food, affordable prices, relaxed atmosphere and great service!
We dinned here twice thus far and will surely return. It is the only place I feel confident to try a new dish without feeling bad about the money (in case I donβt like the dish).
At about $50-60 for 2 entrees, one sake and tip, this restaurant is a gem. I donβt remember much from the more expensive restaurants Iβve dinned at (aside from how high the bill was). Because few places elevate cuisine to the level where a $150 bill for 2 people feels like money well spent.
So, I am happy we found this restaurant because they got the recipe right: you pay a reasonable price for good food and you get loyal customers!
Thank you!
Somewhat disappointing dinner, which perhaps explains why the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. My salmon was extremely tough, likely cooked from frozen, and who knows how old it was. The portion sizes are generous; however, my boyfriend and kids didnβt finish their noodle dishes and didnβt really want them as leftovers. They said the dishes were bland and the noodles were stuck together. With so many Thai options nowadays, doubt we will be going back anytime soon.
From a take-out perspective...this should be criminal. The green curry container was filled maybe one-third of the way and the duck noodle soup looks nothing like advertised from the pictures. I would never recommend ordering from here. Although the order was through a 3rd party delivery service, the bag was still entirely secured and I donβt believe it was opened or tampered with at all.
So good
Decided to give this place a second try, but was disappointed again:
Bahn Mi was exceptionally meh and bland. Barely any flavoring on the tofu, bread was a standard sub roll, not toasted nearly enough.
Felt bad due to lack of effort, not necessarily ingredients or know-how. Fortunately, there are much better places in the area.
Staff was attentive and friendly
Good food go here. I got two dishes, but really loved the full and nuanced flavor in the red curry.
Verdict: RECOMMEND

I got the pork Bahn Mi sandwich. It was full of fat, very little actual pork! I was so very disappointed.
Seriously good seafood with bean thread.
Overall, a quiet ambience with friendly staff! The food is always so fresh the few times I have been there. The staff make you feel very welcomed and able to enjoy a nice evening out.
I have ordered take out from these folks after I left work and BOTH times I did not receive a utensil or napkins for my food. Is this a policy? Very disappointed
We love this place! Consistently good! Kids friendly, soups are great!
Love the food here. It's a cozy little store front with half a dozen tables. Service is quick and staff is friendly.
Great meal all around!
Is it the best pho I've ever had? No. Was it delicious? Yes. Good food, friendly staff.

Best Thai food in Boston so far!
Love this place. We come a few times per month and have never had a bad meal! Fast, reasonably priced, super flavorful and they are very accommodating of my husbandβs gluten allergy.

Food: 69/80 (86%). Usually get bahn mi from here. It is usually quite good although the bread is a little dry and crumbly.
Service/Atmosphere: 4/10 (40%) I've ordered takeout from this place twice and asked for condiments both times and I never got any
Re-eatability: 7/10. Healthy options, prices and flavour are pretty good.
Overall: 80/100. Food itself was quite tasty just wish they would give me some sauce :(
First time and the last time I will eat here. I ordered Crispy Chicken Pad Thai. The noodles seemed a little over cooked and was stuck together. The sweet chili sauce had no flavor. I love sweet chili sauce and it normally have a little kick to it but theirs had NOTHING and no flavor!!!
By the way if you order from them bring a bag or they will just charge you for one of theirs without asking if you want to pay for one.
Nice and quiet spot in JP. I usually come in during lunch and have pho which is great.
Left 156 dollars of food on the table after paying. None of us ate. Our duck smelled like wet dog. The staff after seeing we were not happy made a a scene about the tip. The worse place I have ever eaten in in life.
Really enjoyed my meal. The staff was cheerful and helpful.
I get take out here all the time and I love it. The calamari is delish- very unique and spicy. Also recommend the pad see ew and crispy chicken pad Thai!

Delicious yellow mango curry, my favorite!
And it's in JP, my old neck of the woods.
Many vegetarian options too. Popular place, reasonably priced. Off street parking behind the restaurant.
Highly recommend!
Solid Tom Yum Noodle Soup ππΌ
Really good food and good service! Cozy atmosphere, fair prices! Definitely recommend their pad Thai and all the noodles!
So so pho GA, the price is higher than I expect. The soup tastes too sour.
I donβt normally review, but avoid this restaurant! I ordered noodles. They were a beige flavorless mush, the few pieces of chicken were rubbery, and it only had 2 small broccolis and 3 thin slices of carrot. Another person in my party said the beef in their noodles tasted like it had gone bad. It all felt done in a rush. Extremely disappointing place.
Great food and good service. Unique versions of some classic dishes. Wish we lived closer, would go more.
Very good spot. Pho soups are excellent and the banh mi as well. Tom yum soup is great. Will definitely be back to try other items.
Really liked the food. The service is wonderful.
The one thing that I could recommend for improvement, in my opinion, is to totally change the music from rap/hip-hop/loud to soothing, soft, and graceful. That would make my eating experience so much more pleasant. Thank you very much.
My family and I have been ordering from here for YEARS! I have to say itβs hit or miss. However, my kids enjoy the food so we continued giving them a chance. Today was different though. My 16yo ordered Pho, which he normally orders, only to find a good size cockroach in it. My husband called them to complain. Of course they offered to give us a credit for our next order. There will be NO next order. DEFINITELY not coming back. One thing is getting an order wrong, but this is just simply disgusting!
(Photo shows Roach inside paper bag-removed from food)
Great gem in JP!! Best mango curry and spicy calamari I've had!!! Menu has such great variety.
Best pad see ew Iβve had!
We loved it so much that we are going back today. Extensive menu and fast service with very reasonable prices. Can't wait to try something new today.
Their Thai ice tea is delicious
Ordered Banh Mi and spring rolls. They couldn't even get that correct. No care is giving to the food.
I tried their curry puffs and Pad Kee Mow with tofu and they're both delicious. Fast and polite service, generous portions and reasonable prices. Would definitely come back.
Great little Vietnamese and Thai restaurant in Jamaica Plain. Full menu of both cuisines.
Get the Tom Yum Soup!
Very tasteless food
Probably the best Pho Iβve ever had
Great good, great price.
The experience at Noodle Barn is extremely pleasent. From exceptional service to phenomenal food, the place is a must try. The noodles, Bahn Mi (sandwiches) and Com Thit Nuong (Grilled on Rice) dishes are extremely tasty. Specially the measts which are well seasoned and memorable. Thai Iced Tea was great as well!
good service, delicious food, the best is pad thailand
We had two different meals here as well as some Thai Iced Tea, and everything was very good. We will be back!
I normally donβt complain about food, because what Iβll do itβs not return to the place. But in this case I have to.
I bought a chicken pho Ga soup, cha gio and a Goi Cuon and the only thing I can say is that the soup was good. The rolls didnβt taste good and the Goi Cuon was filled with lettuce the noodles were hard and only one shrimp. Seriously $8 for what for lettuce, and the use two spring rolls skins which it was too thick and didnβt have any flavor.
Not worth expending $35
I had lunch with my teen daughter and her 2 friends. We needed some time to get through the menu, the staff was patient. We enjoyed our delicious drinks and yummy food. They had great portion sizes. We got to share, and everyone was full for a while.
Delicious!! Best food best prices.
Somewhat disappointing dinner, which perhaps explains why the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. My salmon was extremely tough, likely cooked from frozen, and who knows how old it was. They said the dishes were bland and the noodles were stuck together. With so many Thai options nowadays, doubt we will be going back anytime soon.
Food was absolutely amazing, and the service was even better. Will definitely go there again
Great food. Nice variety with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Prices are reasonable.
The food here is good. We order takeout all the time from here. My only complaint it that they donβt fill the containers up all the way each time. I ordered the basil fried rice once and the pad kee mow noodles once and it was half full. But each time I order the pad woon den noodles and itβs always really full.
The service could be a lot better. We sat ourselves at a table on a Saturday afternoon. They gave us menus and we waited more than 5min for someone to come take our drink order. They just kept passing by us. π€¨ We ended up just getting takeout.
Usually order through Door Dash because I'm shy to order directly, but I must say the food is amazing. I've tried Banh Mi, Pad Thai, Pad See-Ew and more. I've liked everything. Very well seasoned and delicious. I always want to order again for more. I recommend 100%
Enjoyed the dine in but not take out
Good Suff! The Pho and fresh spring roll!
This is probably one of my most favorite places with Asian cuisine in Boston. I got a fried rice dish that was very flavorful. The Vietnamese coffee was also really good, and the portion sizes are worth the price.
Delicious udon noodles, cozy atmosphere, nice service
Excelente service and the food is delicious, ask for the Thai Iced Tea!!
Super consistent, quick, and so many awesome options. We have loved this place for years and hopefully years to come!
tastes good but it seems like when the noodles cooked they clumped together so I had balls of raw noodle in my meal
I really like noodle barn. They have a nice outdoor patio and service is always friendly. Itβs not the best Thai food Iβve ever had (which I definitely havenβt found in Boston yet) but itβs pretty good and definitely satisfies the craving! Theyβre also pretty quick to serve which I appreciate.
The food was amazingly good. Plus, the prices were reasonable.
I would highly recommend Noodle Barn to anyone! It was my go-to place for food for nearly 7 years while I lived in JP. At times going once a week, I never had a single bad meal or issue with quality or service. The staff were incredibly friendly and always spot on with wait times when ordering takeout too.
I was particularly addicted to the Pad Kee Mow but loved any dish I tried, and the pot stickers are undoubtedly the best in JP and the surrounding areas. I have tried other Thai restaurants since moving away and none compare to Noodle Barn or offer the same satisfying spice to their meals!
Always great. Always on time. Pick up or dine in. One time I got the wrong order and they were great too! No questions asked. Iβve been there with my daughter for a quiet lunch. Dinner with a loved one. Good place for any occasion.
Friendly service.
Extensive menu and very generous helpings.
I had the crispy pad Thai, which I enjoyed. It was a bit sweeter than I would have liked, but that's just my personal taste.
I have eaten there for many years and never had anything but an excellent meal.
The food is high quality and delicious, cheap no but what is these days you're in the center of Jamaica plain restaurants.
They do have plenty of lunch dishes and appetizers which are by no means expensive.
The staff is diverse and diligent I don't know what more you could be looking for in a restaurant.
Great food, quick service, friendly staff.
Cute little space in the center of JP, the food was good for the price but not amazing. The kimchi udon noodles were good but definitely not spicy and the fried veggie rolls were quite good but sad that there were only 3 of them. We got a table right by the windows which was great for ppl watching and since itβs in the heart of JP, we also got JP licks after which was great
Try everything!
I've done take out and dine in. The food is always superb top notch..Fantastic customer service.Super friendly and awesome.. Been a customer over 5 yrs nowβ€
I had a wonderful meal here-the service was fast and friendly and the food was great and well priced. I had the spring rolls, curry puffs, and nuoc cham and all three dishes were great. I will definitely be back when i'm in the area next.
Been loving this place for years and years. Thanks for having lots of vegetarian options too!
Delicious food. Easy takeout procedure.
Incredible flavors, reasonable prices and a laid back atmosphere. Love this place.
Amazing service and delicious food! The staff was attentive and so kind. We eat here after and have never been disappointed.
Bim Sum
Veggie tofu curry is amazing.
Great experience and food.
Fresh and affordable!
Their banh mi is of course delicious, but the salads were a surprise and really good! The servers were super friendly. Only done takeout here but definitely want to try dine in in the future as it's very cute inside.
Good place for a quick meal. Friendly.
I was heartbroken when Pho & I closed. They suggested visiting their sister locations. This is the same food, same staff, lovely lovely people and amazing taste. I'm so happy they're still around, best Thai food in Boston <3
Excellent! Service was quick and friendly. The flavors of my Bahn Mi were delightful and fresh.
I am blessed with so many really nice little restaurants in my neighborhood. This is one of them. I just soooo much wish for them to survive the pandemic. So, if you are in for some tasty, fresh Asian food with a good beer (the selection is small, but adequate) in a relaxed, casual atmosphere, please visit this place.
Good service
Really love Noodle Barn. Protein portions (shrimp, chicken, etc) on plates is a bit lacking lately and could use improvement, but food quality excellent as always.
Great food, good prices!
Always tasty and fresh. Great variety, great service, reasonable prices
I am a fan of their food. Great quality for a reasonable price.I Love their Vermicelli bowl as well as their Pad-Thai or BonMe sandwiches! This is My to go place whenever I crave delicious food.
Local favorite. Delicious food and great staff.
My partner and I both had a pretty mediocre experience. The flavors were okay, but right out of the gate, our Pho was just luke warm -- didn't even soften the bean sprouts. Coming in from the cold weather, it really let us down. The flavors just didn't come together in a cold dish.
Excelente
I love noodle barn! Their food is yummy and everyone is so polite!
You know what, this place is actually dank
Excellent lunch options, great prep and presentation too
Every time I come here the staff is in a great mood. They remember everything and always make great suggestions and take out what you donβt like and add what you want ! The prices are soooo great and Grace makes the best Vietnamese coffee!!! Great energy here
Delicious! Get the Noodle Barn pho, itβs amazing.
Really disappointed in food. Tom yum soup watery and tasteless. Vermicelli was okay, I liked salad- refreshing- but dressing was, again, like water and tasteless. Why did I bother to go out? Wonβt be going back anytime soon.
Best. Tom. Yum. Soup. Ever! Pad Thai was pretty great also, But I cannot appreciate their tom yum soup enough. They are a family run business and are so nice. highly recommended
Food was delicious, pad thai and eggplant dish extraordinary. However, I feel that anyone ordering takeout should be allowed to use the restroom. I witnessed one person denied access, I didn't feel this was right. Made me uncomfortable.
Excellent
Love this place. Everything is good, I mean everything!!! From the pho to pad thai, this is classic Pan-Asian cuisine done extremely well.
Amazing broth on the Pho!!
Needs to add jazmΓn/passion fruit, and Thai tea/mango, to their drinks list.
Good food but not enough chicken, seafood or steak in order depending on what your getting. That is there only drawback.
Yummy
The service was quick and the staff was very polite and friendly. There is a lot of variety on the menu and the food is of great quality. The place is small, but itβs very clean and the ambience is warm. Overall a very pleasant experience!
lousy driver service arrogant people ignorant lack of education
Loved it. Great food
Great hot and sour soup
Love their Pho ga soup.
Food is great but atmosphere is so-so
Food was decent, service was excellent. I had the beef pho for my meal (only one kind of beef pho). It was decent, but not something I'd return for. The broth wasn't quite right. My dining partner had pad Thai, which she loved and plans to return for. The service was excellent there.
Bahn Mi didnt have enough filling
I previously had lunch at the Noodle Barn restaurant and the food was great. Unfortunately, when I received my Chicken Pad Thai, it also had shrimp in it. I am SEVERELY allergic to shrimp! Needless to say, I couldn't eat my food and the restaurant was closed otherwise I would have requested another order.π
