I had the pleasure of dining at Pai Kin Kao Thai Restaurant and tried the Tonkatsu Ramen, Thai Dry Noodle, and Kao Moo Daeng. The Tonkatsu Ramen was rich and flavorful, with a yummy broth. The Thai Dry Noodle was a standout – expertly seasoned and packed with authentic Thai flavors. The Kao Moo Daeng was another highlight, featuring perfectly cooked pork and a deliciously savory sauce. Overall, the dishes were well-prepared, and the presentation was fantastic. Highly recommend this place for a taste of Thai cuisine with a variety of options!
“The Best Thai Food in the Area!”
We highly recommend their Khao Moo Dang (red pork with rice), Guay Tiew Haeng (dry noodles), and even their Tonkotsu Ramen! The dishes are flavorful, perfectly prepared, and offer a delightful mix of Thai and Japanese influences. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive, adding to the overall great dining experience. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this gem!
Don't be deceived! This charming little place packs a wallop for the taste buds! By far the tastiest thai pork i've had in a while.
In my mind. I could picture the flavor that I wanted when I looked at the menu and saw barbecue pork. And boy was I wrong - My brain couldn't have imagined something so tasty! It was the perfect balance between sweet spicy and savory.
The decor is very homestyle, With cultural decorations and a half obscured view of the kitchen. To that end, I would say the service paired with a decor because I felt right at home.
I one hundred percent will we going back. Most likely right after I write this review :)
Pai Kin Kao is the perfect neighborhood Thai place. The service is great and surprisingly quick, the food is fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous. Don’t sleep on the wonderfully sweet Thai iced tea, the crispy scallion pancake with tamarind dipping sauce, or the spicy and creamy khao soi, which I recommend getting with fried tofu.
Best Thai food in Cambridge! Recommend the deep fried fish papaya salad
Very good food!
Great food and such a great hole-in-the-wall in Central Square!

Very accommodating. Food Prices are reasonable. Especially for lunch. Would come again.
The place is a hidden gem in Central square tucked away. The food has great soups, noodles and curry. Especially the lunch menu which is available every day. Would definitely recommend
I love Pai Kin Kao! Amazing for take out or for casual dining in. My favorites are the chive dumplings to start, the Tom yum noodle soup as well as the green and massaman curry!!!!
The Tom Yum Noodle Soup feeds my soul
Nice service, perfect foods.
Favorite Thai restaurant in the greater Boston area
The food was delicious with quick and friendly service. I got Pad See Ew, Gyoza, and Thai Iced Tea. I recommend coming early, as the restaurant got quite busy and the seating is decently limited.
great service and food! food came very quickly and were large portions
Amazing massaman curry, very nice and attentive staff! It’s a very small place but pretty nice atmosphere for casual dining in.
great local thai spot, the owners are very sweet!
The pork belly is divine! Come for the food, stay for the amazing staff.
Stumbled upon this place tucked away in a Cambridge neighborhood by chance and decided to roll the dice. I have been five additional times since. They are consistently super friendly, and every food item has been great. Now my go-to Thai place in Cambridge. Very convenient to Central Square.
This Thai restaurant is located near the Central Station on the red line. This time I ordered Guay Tio Haang, a Thai street special restaurant. I was expecting rich and multi-layered food, but the overall taste was relatively bland. With the addition of blanched vegetables and bean sprouts, the overall taste It's relatively bland. Although the rice noodles are sweet and seasoned, the other ingredients are blanched in Sichuan and put inside, which lacks the salty taste. The overall meal portion is also a little smaller but the taste is still good.
Typical Thai fare, but the food execution is not as good as the reviews suggest. The portions were also quite small.
I get take out here all the time because nothing else in the area even comes close to the quality and the value here. I have explored their menu quite a bit and haven't found anything that wasn't awesome.
Delicious! The menu seemed very authentic Thai. Lots of great options. I had the Pad Ka Prow with crispy chicken. It was really good! The restaurant is small, but cozy.
Really good food and wide range, but they do it all quite well
Black pepper beef was pretty good. If the portion size was a littleee bigger, I'd give this 5 stars.
For the price I paid the portion were very. I ordered crab fried rice there was barely any crabs meat in the rice it was more and a small plate of rice for $20 on top of that I ordered the pad See Ew It was filled with mostly veggies literally had no noodles. It was a bunch of vegetables and four pieces of shrimp very disappointed for $20 rice and got no rice And $20 Pad See ew got no noodles in my food do not waste your time if you’re hungry looking food fill you up after you eat you’re not gonna get that here
Best Thai food I have had!
Great food! Friendly staff!
We ordered delivery, they said it would be delivered in 45 minutes, an hour later we call them and they said the food was sitting still sitting at the restaurant. We drove it pick it up, we asked them to reheat it for us, they begrudgingly agreed. When we got home we found large chunks of gray clay in the pad see yew, making it inedible. We have ordered from here for several years, but will never be ordering again unfortunately.
Great food and place!
Phenomenal every time
Best Thai I have had anywhere! Get the Crab Rangoon!
Too much variation in food qualities: our appetizer chicken chili dip and longan drinks were amazing, but every entree course was average. The papaya salad was the worst, just not fresh. Heard great things, maybe we ordered the wrong thing this time
Great curry here. The delivery fried tofu is no match for the one at the restaurant though. The last time I went in person it was so crisp and delicious and the one I had delivered felt like it was reheated from a fried tofu packet. Please bring back the crispy one it was so good!
Friendly staff and delicious food.
Came to the place expecting something like a wow factor, but in the end it was not that amazing
Don't be deceived! This charming little place packs a wallop for the taste buds! By far the tastiest thai pork i've had in a while.

REALLY GOOD FOOD , IM NOT INTO THE Thai Food, BUT I REALLY LOVE IT I BE BACK SOON , THE FLAVOR SPECTACULAR
It's very small, the one guy sitting behind the register when we entered didn't say hello or even acknowledge us. We asked a question and it was as if we were bothering him. We were hungry though and decided to try it. The food was authentic and magnificent. Definitely a hit if you don't mind the attitude when you walk in the door.
I had the Guay Tio Haag (Thai street foods). It was delicious! Had a lot of flavor. My daughter had the Tonkotsu ramen which she enjoyed. My mom had the green curry. She didn't really like the green curry because it didn't have enough flavor. My husband had the Pad Thai, which he didn't enjoy in comparison to other pad Thai dishes he's had elsewhere. However, I would return for the dish I had.
The Khao Soi was fantastic!
Went on a whim and wow!!! Delicious food and quick service. The black pepper beef was so soft and melted in your moth. The pad see ew was perfectly cooked. Just heaven!
We weren't that hungry but my brother and I cleaned our plates!! And my brother got another beef dish to go cause he was so wow'ed. 😂
Probably one of the best Thai places in Boston!

I was drawn here due to the high ratings and proximity to where I was at that moment. Am Asian and lived in Asia most of my life and I love my Thai food, especially Pad Thai.
This however had to be the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. I try not to leave negative reviews - but I felt that this eatery has grossly misrepresented how this noodle dish should be.
Everything is just wrong about it, from the type of noodle to the taste. It was overly eggy and sticky, and too sweet.
As I was leaving, I realised the kitchen is fully staffed by Latinos. So no, this is not an authentic Thai food place.

Update: left this review and was accused by the owner for being racist. How is my review racist? What could be worse than culturally misappropriating a dish and passing it off as genuine Thai?
great flavor the fried rice was clean not too oily
ill eat there if im near the area again
Worst food and service. I rarely rate places but I am doing this to make sure people go else where. The place is dirty, low quality and no service.
Good flavors, cozy place.
Very good Thai food for Boston/Cambridge.
New management, similar taste, slightly more expensive.
Excellent traditional Thai food. Unlicensed and a hole in the wall. Go for the food. The kwitieu heng is spectacular.
Best pad se eew i’ve had in my life
This is my go-to for casual noodles and so on. I love it.
The pork belly here is nice and crispy, and the lunch special is enticing as it should be.
I RAVE about this place for a reason.
I’ve been here 5 times now and it’s good at everything they make. Everything is delicious. It’s authentic and unapologetically flavorful. It’s a trip to Thailand on your palate.
I love this restaurant with all my heart. Please check out this neighborhood gem if you can.
They will make it very spicy if you ask which I love because my spice tolerance is very high
Bland and ordinary shrimp pad thai. No lime. Not enough fish sauce. Poor quality shrimp. (But I guess $15 these days isn't enough for good shrimp.) I'll give it another shot with a different dish....
A little pricy, but it is worth of trying its red curry and Krapow.
Excellent
Sent me bad papaya salad once and I won’t forget!
Went here for a late lunch. Food was very good. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Green Curry Ramen. I don't eat pork so often ramen is not something I order – but this was creative and delicious. The service was very good, and kind. Restaurant is a bit snug with an open kitchen. The window counter seating was very nice. Tables might not be as comfortable.
Also, not calling anyone a liar, but three recent reviews all posted around the same time, from reviewers with few reviews, all giving low ratings and each commenting on bland/gross taste and finding hair in their food.... Makes me question the veracity of these reviews.
I'll come back. Give it a try!
Ordered a ramen that was terrible, bland, and somehow sweet. Had one bite and gagged at the taste. Had to trade with my bf who couldn’t force himself to eat it either. He’d ordered a noodle dish in which I found two white hairs. They refunded the gross ramen and half the noodles, since we’d eaten some of it before I found the white hairs
Found a hair in my ramen which was already bland before I found it
Amazing food and very nice servers
Very plain tasting food. Doesn’t really deserve the 4.5 star.
Awful restaurant I ordered take out and right when I got home there was hair in 2 out of my 4 dishes I ordered. I called and the guy on the phone did not understand me.
Just had a delicious evening out. The service was friendly and our food came out quickly. We ordered a scallion pancake (crispy and flakey), tom kha (nice tangy lemon grass and a rich coconut broth) , panaang curry (vegetables were nice and crisp with a rich flavorful curry), Pad see ew (ordered with extra vegetable and was probably the best I have ever had), and basil fried rice (flavorful with a nice layer of heat). Our party was very pleased with everything we had and we will soon return. Although the dining room is not very inviting the service was very good.
Saw the cooks lick their fingers and handle food without gloves.
Excellent food, outstanding service!
The drunken noodles are absolutely delicious!
So so.
One of the best thai ice tea I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot. Food was delicious and perfect portions. Not to mention the staff was REALLY nice and attentive! The place is a kinda quiet area but it is def worth it
Kinda bland
Best Kaprow I've had in Boston! I like to have it with their refreshing papaya salad. Super interested in their crispy pork but it's always sold out!
Amazing!! Loved it
I got takeout here for lunch and it was good.
They've got great takeout options and it's nice they they're more if a neighborhood place. I got one their beef dishes, which was really tasty. The side of rice was nicely cooked as well.
Seems like their sushi is made by a different kitchen in a different building or something? Kinda sketchy.
Wouldn't recommend dining in the restaurant tho. Seems a little cramped and cluttered.
The best item on the menu is Khao Moo Daeng(rice with roasted red pork). The owner is very friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and served very quickly. The portions are very generous and you can upgrade to a large size for only $2-3 extra. I will definitely be back again very soon.
I just got mind blown by this restaurant. I had the “Guay tio haang” and it made me fall in love with Thai cuisine. The noodles were so savory, sweet with a good amount of spicy kick. The Chinese sausage was soft and delicious, the red pork meat, everything. Definitely one of the best noodle bowls I’ve ever tried, my mouth is watering just by writing this review, well done.
The Chashu Spicy Miso Ramen is amazing!
Good. Large portions
Some of the best food I've ever had, and at an exceptional price for this area! Beautifully presented with friendly service. 10/10, don't miss it!
Small dine in restaurant & usually they doing For kitchen take out. Food delicious & excellence. We will come back again for a private tour to Boston again. Thanks again for your serving us.
Easily top 5 Thai restaurants in the entire US. I hate the location/city, but it makes it worth it!
Cute Thai place around the corner, service is attentive and everything’s clean. Probably the best Tom Yum soup noodles I’ve ever had, highly recommend
Friendly quick service. I like to try something different every time I go in the restaurant
Cute little place. Always hear from people when it comes to Thai, always try to go for those cute little places, they offer the super street style food. I had a similar experience. I had the pad thai(beef). Maybe the portion size could have been better but I also did go for the small plate. PS- they have good varieties of hot sauce.
Great food. But the spicy was not the hot I was expecting.
Great food, best tofu!
Really great food. It's more like an Asian fusion but worth trying.
Delicious food, super quick, decent portions. Great pad see ew and pad thai and fried rice! We get food from here often and are always happy :)
It's always delicious and it's a great value.
Tried their Boat noodles with pork and with beef, as well as their Thai fried rice with Chinese sausages. I love the broth of their boat noodles the best when I compared it other Thai restaurants that I visited. Their broth is on lighter side (not as thick or as strong and fatty as other places) but still very savory. The veggies in the broth are fresh and still crunchy (not soggy as result of letting the veggies sit in the broth for along time). I prefer pork slices to their beef slices, since the pork slices are more tender. Their Thai fried rice is excellent as well. Overall, it is a very good value in terms of price and serving portion
Got takeout of miso ramen, spicy miso ramen, and Thai fried rice with chicken. It was all meh. Not bad, but I've had much better in Boston.
Very tasty food. Difficult to find real thai food. But this place satisfied me
2021 Fall •prices increased dramatically. 😥😕
I only recommend the Thai Basil Fried Rice. Unfortunately they're Raman was expensive for just a bowl noodles and only a little meat. More people would show up if the menu wasn't so expensive. lol also the Thai curry is too sweet and creamy literally no spice at all for a dish that supposed to be spicy. Also they don't have wifi. And they refuse to make warm Thai milk tea for the winter months. Sad Thai place so disappointing lol
Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Incredible depth of flavor.
Authentic Thai food! Very delicious! We love it.
The Sushi is not made on site so pick up was delayed until the sushi came from that different location. The food was great, would have given 5 stars other than the timing issue.
Delicious food! Can't order enough-i love all the vegetables in the vegetarian dishes, and they put in just the right amount of sauce.
Got takeout flat noodles earlier for dinner. Not sure if the veggies weren’t rinsed well but there was a lot of soil in the dish. The taste was good but it was impossible to eat it. Not an ideal first experience, most likely the last one.
Hands down one of the best Pad See Ew I ever had in the US. Taste exactly like the one you get in Thailand. Will definitely be back!
