This is hands down the best Thai food I've ever had! I've visited several times and have never been disappointed. While the restaurant is small and the crew is small, don’t let that fool you—the food is incredible, and the service is top-notch. The KaPow is my favorite dish; it’s so good that I’ve even tried making it at home (though not quite as amazing, so I'll definitely keep coming back for the real thing). It's absolutely worth the trip to Brookline!
Arrived at 6:30 for dinner, the restaurants peak time.
Decor is minimalistic, nothing symbolizing Thailand here, I feel they went the modern route which is still nice. I started off with the Boston Blackthorn, it was stiff and similar to a Manhattan. Next up was the Tom Yum Shrimp soup, 3 large shrimp and 20 mushrooms, the broth was way overpowered by the taste of shrimp/seafood. I decided to order the red curry with chicken for my main course, this is a favorite dish of mine but I was a bit confused, as I've never had it served this way. Typically the chicken is within the curry. At Pon Thai they grill the chicken with the skin on. This was not what I had expected but I dealt with it. I don't think I'd order this dish from here again. The service was also so-so, I felt like the wait staff didn't want to be working and none of them were friendly or welcoming, just seemed like business as usual.
The Three Taste Salmon was the best salmon I’ve ever had. Great sized piece of salmon, which was super high quality fresh, and extremely tasty. Best Thai food in Brookline by far. Exited to go back!
Great food, and very fast service

I had a wonderful, healthy lunch at Maliss Thai! The. Veggies were crisp and fresh, and the pork was juicy! The Shrimp Rolls were crunchy and delicious!
Sehr gutes, schmackhaftes Essen. Angemessene Preise. Freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Einzig das Ambiente ist eher mittelmäßig.
Nice and welcoming place, food was fresh and delicious.
Thanks for a great dinner
Very average Thai takeout: ordered pad thai and mango curry. Very disappointing that the curry does not include any white rice with dinner and not shown as an option to add to the dish when selecting the meat. Did not know until I got home. Will not be ordering from here again.
we've been here many times and it's become our go to for delicious thai standards
Really flavorful food, the Thai tea was great! Reasonable prices too, especially for the area.
Yum! The food here was great. I am a creature of habit when it comes to Thai food, so I got one of my go-to's Pad Thai. Very tasty.
Food is delicious though I’ve only ordered from the appetizer menu. The decor is quite cute and welcoming. The restaurant is very clean as well which is pleasing to see as some restaurants in the area look unkept inside.
Food was excellent, would highly recommend this restaurant,
Food is spectacular. Ordered a salad, an appetizer, a soup, a noodle dish, and the duck - absolutely everything came out stellar.
Lovely little space, gets a bit noisy when full of happy diners.
Allergy friendly. Accommodating to dairy and egg free. Also they don’t cook with MSG and was able to alter the pad Thai so it wasn’t cooked with fish sauce. My MIL usually reacts to Thai food but she felt good after eating here! So glad they could accommodate us. Food was yummy. The beef satay was a little on the tough side however. We still enjoyed our food very much.
OMG, this Thai restaurant should be one of the best in the northeast, and it should be rated as one of the best in America. The food was super great, amazing service and good price.
Food is pretty authentic Thai food. Some people may complain that it is on the sweeter side, but if you lived in Thailand before, you know what I meant. I ordered a few times from them already and they were all tasty. My favorite is their pad wun sen (stir fry clear noodles) and their pad thai. i would say they are on par with Rod Dee, a strong competitor in the area.
First time having food from here
Fresh, tasty and I didn’t have to cook it!
Food was good but the curry didn’t come with rice which is super dumb. Not even an option to add it. Not sure if they just forgot it or what.
Maliss Thai Restaurant in Brookline Village is absolutely delicious and fresh! Everything they serve is wonderfully made and served with lots of variety! The proprietors are always helpful and friendly! I recommend eating here because the food is delicious and healthy!
Cute little Thai restaurant. They do take out super well! Everything is packaged so neatly, they provide napkins, utensils, and a straw for your drinks. It’s a little thing, but it makes a difference if you’re a tourist in the area!
The food is super fresh, the veggies are crisp, and the spice is Thai level spice, so be warned. I went with medium and definitely felt a kick.
I ordered the Drunken noodle and the wide noodles were absolutely perfect. Soft, flavorful, I wish they provided more. They give more meat than noodles, but the noodles were so good here I wish there was more!
Fresh, quick, yummy. Can’t go wrong if you’re looking for Thai food!
Food is very tasty however prices are unreasonably high for the portion.
Took a chance - had never been. The food was delicious. Two in our party ordered the country pad thai and *loved* it. I had red curry with shrimp - beautiful & delicious. In other reviews someone complained about the vegetables - they were all fresh and bright. And serving sizes was perfect. On a final note - the cocktails were amazing. The server was also the bartender. She made 2 fantastic ice cold martinis. I saw other tables order fancy drinks - they were all beautifully made. Highly recommend.
Surprisingly excellent food. Light, wholesome, tasty. Excellent service too.
Had the country pad Thai and regular pad Thai. Very oily and extremely sweet.
Red curry and country style pad Thai were both quite tasty, but the portions were smaller than average, prices above average, and they charge $2 for each half-cup of white rice that they bring to the table.
BBB Bueno, Bonito Barato.
Great food, calm atmosphere (true background music rather than a dinner soundtrack), attentive and warm service. The whole family enjoyed their dishes and had a great time. Strongly recommend!
Neighborhood restaurant has a moderate menu. Pad Thai included shrimp and chicken but needed salt to bring out the flavors. Duck Choo Chee also needed salt and slices of duck could have been thicker as the duck melted in the sauce. Steamed shrimp dumplings lacked the shrimp taste that was expected.
Quaint restaurant. Food is not flavorful. Pad See Ew was bland and just greasy. Carrots not fresh as they had pre-cut jagged edges like the ones in frozen bags. Pad thai was also very bland with breaded chicken that was very American. Nice people, though, so we appreciated that.
Neighborhood restaurant. Excellent food and service!! 👏👏👏
One of the best places ever and the kindest staff. I loved the seafood pad Thai, incredible flavors!!
I don’t know what happened to this restaurant. I used to eat the Pad See Ew here almost weekly for years when it was Pon Thai Bistro. The noodles where soft and would not clump, and they had that delicious charcoal taste.
I’ve gotten the Pad See Ew twice since it changed the name and they are terrible. The sauce is flavorless, the noodles clump and don’t have the charcoal taste. And why are they putting so much carrot in it?? The greens are not fresh or cut as stems as the real deal. They use American broccoli instead of Chinese broccoli. HUGE difference in taste and texture.
Also the new menu: why would you have the option of crispy chicken in pad see ew? Or all the other options that have no relevance to pad see ew?? What happened to the amazing duck rolls?
I lived in Bangkok for 3 years before coming to Boston and this is my go-to dish. I have no idea how they can get it so wrong after doing it right so many years.
This place should find a new chef or figure something out. I used to recommend Pon Thai to everyone as the besy thai in Massachusetts. This Maliss thing is at the bottom.
Really nice place. Small and cozy. Pretty large menu selection. Great food. Our hostess was really patient with us as I was catching up with my niece after a long time of not seeing her So after a while we finally ordered.
If I’m in town again and jonesin’ for Thai food this’ll definitely be my go-to place!!!
Pork noodle soup best in town
Food is absolutely delicious here, have tried dining in and take out-lunch and dinner -always delicious. Servers friendly and attentive.
Great food at reasonable prices!
Food was mediocre. We ordered one plate with mild spicy and another with medium spicy, but it turned out that the one with mild spicy was much more spicier 😅. Nevertheless, the price is quite affordable.
The crispy pad Thai was really delicious, and the waitress was really friendly. My drunken noodles had a nice flavor but there where barely any noodles and they were over cooked. I ordered mine with tofu and it only came with two pieces of medium sized tofu, so that dish was kind of a bummer.
Also had the combo appetizer and that was pretty decent!
fantastic food! ordered several dishes and they were all outstanding.
The Food Was A Little Bit Good
Melissa Thai Restaurant is absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is relaxing which lends itself to a pleasant dining experience. The food, well it is the most important and the chef does not disappoint. The food is fresh, well prepared and delicious. Service receives an A+ - friendly and professional.
I highly recommend.
The staff was so friendly🙏
The food was absolutely wonderful.. You must try Thai tea!
+ I visted here after their renovation! Every food was great but the price became more expensive than before..
One of the best Thai restaurants in Brookline. Pad Thai dish was excellent. Service was quick and kind. Highly recommend
I placed an order for lunch and received confirmation that the order was received and that my pick up time would be 20-30 minutes. When I went to the restaurant at the designated pick up time, the owner or staff told me that they forgot to call me to tell me that they weren’t able to make the food due to the restaurant not having gas. I was told that my order was going to be refunded, but I have yet to see any refund be processed and it has been 9days already.
While I was living in Boston, this was my absolute favorite Thai restaurant. My favorite dish was the pad prik khing with pork.
I was planning to visit next week while I am in town for a trip and I saw Pon Thai is closing. I have not found anything like Pon Thai in Philadelphia, so this is truly saddening. I wish you the best in your future endeavors and hope you will update your loyal customers if you open a new restaurant somewhere!
Good food, but the in-person service has gone down hill. It took an hour to get an order of noodles this week. Seems they have so many line orders that that in-person orders get held up unreasonably. There were polite "I'm sorry for the wait" apologies, but it shows they're aware of the problem and either can't cope or don't have a better way of organizing things.
I used to love this place before Covid pandemic but stopped going for a while not because of Covid thing but because of their poor wait staff service. They really don't like baby or kid to come here. Generally speaking they are not professionally service educated so, serving the customer is so poor quality. I feel sorry that their food is good and owner seems nice but it is too bad that staff there is so bad. Fortunately when I went back to this place, the man waiter who was extremely rude to our three family was gone so glad but then there is another woman now who has a short hair is not kind again. -_-;;; very sad to see since when I visit Thailand 20 years ago, They are such a nice people with great smile with respect, I can’t see that here. Long hair staff is neutral but not nice not bad just neutral. I felt like the wait staff here didn't want to be working or serve the customer properly when I asked new utensils the short hair woman rolled her eyes and even sighed in front of my child… that is not nice…
Hope the woman owner knows about this situation. Customer felt really uncomfortable because of the wrong staffs. This is not my first time experience so I finally decided to write something online today…
Addmore, spraying cleaning spray liquid wildly is not professional while people are eating… they can spray on the cloth directly closed motion first make it wet to wipe e table afterwards, not spraying directly over the table toe spray particles travels long distance than you think( watched video about it) it really spread to other tables which tables are all very close to each other here and those are cleaning chemicals we don’t like it at all. I know they have to clean up the table for a new customer but they should do it more gentle way so that it is not upsetting other tables. I read people’s review and saw many complaints actually those were about the wait staff complaints just as I did. Hopefully the owner hire someone who deserves to work here ; more customer and family friendly people. None of them were friendly or welcoming. So far...this restaurant can be more successful if they hire nicer staff for sure. Unfortunately I am not going back again for a while… even though I like their food. As a customer, friendly welcoming atmosphere service is More important than the good food actually. Even though food is good, and staff service is poor, no one wants to go back. I think owner should consider about this when hiring staffs. Good Service is a face of the restaurant. Very important. So far, this restaurant’s face was not pretty… at all..I want to give 2.5 stars but they don’t allow me to so I press 2. Food quality is 4 actually and it deduct to 2 stars because of the poor service staffs.
So delicious. Huge Shu Mai
Enjoyed the chicken fried rice. The person I was with wished they offered fried rice as a side option when getting the salmon. We were told it’s not an option. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.
It's so rare to find a place that does massaman curry ala Bangkok pumpkin curry. Everything was so delicious and the people who run the place are so nice. Cocktails are good too.
This place was great! The staff was very kind and the ambiance was very spectacular especially with the soft jazz playing. The food was very tasty and flavorful. I would certainly recommend coming here.
I loved the pad Thai it was really good, the fried rice I’ve had better, the ice tea was really good.
The dinner was delicious and good portions.
Good Food @ Service
Exquisito
Intimate, good food, totally pleasant experience.
They have horrible food. It was spicy to the point of disgust. Super rude people.
Bad quality
Delicious food prepared promptly for my pickup time! Not the best larb or pad see ew you can get in Boston, but a fine option for affordable takeout.
Amazing food and service. Nice setting for a meal indoors or outdoors, and easy take-out, too. I love the Drunken Noodles.
Enjoyable, intimate place with only about a 16 or so tables. Good list of original cocktails. Standard Thai fare. The crab wonton things were excellent. Service was perfect & efficient.
They are good
Fair prices for some delicious food.
Delicious chicken pad Thai, nice drink selection, plus very kind and helpful staff! I will definitely come back when I'm in the area! 😋
The red curry didn't have enough curry sauce but the portions were decent
Nice Thai food
Food was great, so was the service.
The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the staff was very kind! I was passing through as a tourist but if I lived in this city I would absolutely dine here again
Very bad service!!!! Dont recommend!!!
I love this place, the food and service is great!
The service here is wonderful! I always feel welcomed by the staff. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. I absolutely adore their pad see-ew! They always manage to get that charred "wok hei" flavor just right! I'm definitely hooked
Simple Thai place with the menu you would expect to see. I wanted to try the Vietnamese rolls and this place served those. Very friendly staff that waited till we ate to close.
Great service and food!
Place was ok and quantity is very good 👍 worth it
Small cozy spot with amazing food. I met the owner and head chef, she is awesome. All the food is well priced and exceptionally tasty. Must go! Go now!
Poor service, staff in a gross lack of education and a very unpleasant smell in the entire restaurant. I don't recommend it, a horrible experience.
I ordered Drunken Noodles with Beef for pickup. It was done in 10 minutes and the woman working the front was very friendly.
The food smelled amazing when I first opened it up back home. I was also pleased that the beef and vegetables were all cooked properly (not overcooked) and that the food was not overly greasy. The portion was more than enough for me.
I will definitely return to try out other items. Wish I could dine in and have a drink, but can't due to covid.
Drunken noodles okay good
Pad Thai below average
Lobster rangoons too salty kind of weird
Good food and very nice people 👍
A nice Thai place, small and comfortable, food is tasty, I like the vegetarian curry, and we'll presented. Service is friendly and you can grab a drink at the bar.
The food was the best Thai food I have ever had. Thank you!
got the chicken phad see-ew for takeout. it was done in ten minutes and tasted delicious!!
Best drunken noodles EVER. quiet, comfortable place to eat.
Lovely place good price
Incredibly fresh and delicious Thai food with exceptional service.
A little too boujee
Really good food
A restaurant so cozy and warm hospitality.
Ordered the pad thai for takeout and was very underwhelmed. Bland and not something I even want to finish.
Delicious and reasonable
Consistent quality with very nice presentation. Always courteous and friendly service.
It's a cozy Thai restaurant, with very good food. However the glasses of water for all of us smelled of rotting eggs. We asked the waiter to change them and he picked one right there and smelt it as if to make sure we were not making it up. He said he will wash the glasses and get fresh water for us, but even that smelled.
It is a very nice place with very good service and good food but the smelly glasses left a bad taste, literally.
I will surely give them another try though.
Thai foods have been always my favorite. There restruant are delicious. Don't remember her name but she was so polite and very nice to my kid. Foods we're delicious. 10/10 costumer satisfied. Drinks were nice as well.
Average place but big plates
Excellent, I had the phad se eww and sticky rice
Buena comida!
Very good food
Very nice place. Had ordered Salmon. It was done to perfection. This place has a great ambiance. Highly recommend!!!
Great little place. Decently sized entrees (tofu drunken noodles and seafood massaman curry). Appetizer (duck confit rolls) were delicious, a bit weird to eat in that the roll came undone when you cut into it. Drunken noodles weren't too spicy which was great and we probably would've spooned the curry as a soup if we still had room in our bellies. We also got the pon gimlet and munmea Thai tea cocktails, both were yummy!
TLDR; delicious food and drinks. Bring a friend and share the dishes.
Fantastic, fresh, and portions allow you to eat an appetizer too, without stuffing oneself. Very quick friendly service. Loved it. Small, so you may have to book when it's busy, but they accept reservations.
Came here for lunch. This has a fancier vibe inside for the area. There are no lunch specials which is different for Thai shops usually. I order pad see eww with beef and the drunken noodles with shrimp. Their shrimp are actually huge and tasted delicious! The noodles were well cooked and very tasty. The portion is large and I had left overs. Definitely one of the tastier Thai restaurants I tried in Boston. Would highly recommend. Only down side it's pricey for lunch, I wish they had regular lunch specials.
Ok, not great
The food was phenomenal! The wait staff and host were friendly and accommodating. The place was neat and very clean. Will definitely recommend it!

Busy but on point food and service.
I am vegetarian and ordered Red curry with Jasmin rice and pad Thai without egg. Food is awesome and quantity is good for 3 people. Tables is for 3 and it is congested otherwise food, ambiance and tastes were excellent.
Amazing menu & service! Drunken Noodles are highly recommended. Curry with rice is always a favorite as well! This place is a must try in Brookline & you will not be disappointed.
Pond Thai Bistro in Brookline Village has the best Gluten Free menu! Everyone is very friendly and the food is served freshly and hand made in a very clean kitchen! I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Very flavorful and great portion size!
Pon Thai is a delightful, small restaurant in Brookline Village offering delicious appetizers and entrees, as well as a well stocked bar, at affordable prices
Place is horrible great waiter though i had lobster Rangoon i needed a magnifying glass to see any lobster 4 pieces of pungent cream cheese. Definitly frozen from Costco or bjs whole sale club. Nothing tasted good i didnt know it was possible to eat bad thai food it is wont go here again not even the wings tasted decent.
Rude staff
Intimate restaurant with a simple menu. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night and not an empty table! The food was great. I had their drunken noodle with tofu and veggies. The service was slow but the staff were very friendly.
Absolutely gross. A mound of sticky rice noodle stuck together .I put a shrimp in my mouth gagged because it was bad. Over priced
Food was very well prepared, fast and price was right! We ordered it to go from Homewood Hilton Suites. Thank you
Had food delivered so you always take your chances with this. The food was packed poorly and a cup of iced tea was on its side in the bag and spilled all over the inside of the bag. Ordered the fresh roll and was you can from the picture, the entire roll was packed literally with cilantro stems and the worst, hard pieces of the lettuce you could possibly find. There was a tiny sliver of shrimp in there with a few shreds of carrot but that was lost among the big thick stems and 50 pounds of lettuce. Fresh rolls are one of my favorite things in the world so this was very disappointing. The dumplings were good and according to my co-worker the veggie pad thai was good.
homemade pasta in the pad Thai pad thew long thin pasta soy free for me homemade dim sum and homemade amazing duck cucumber rolls ...so delicious !!! excellent service too
Taste ok.
Went to celebrate a birthday with a group of 8! They were very accommodating and attentive! The food was definitely great as well. I had the chicken Thai basil! The bartender was great as well, he came by to offer drink suggestions! And they were awesome! Will definetely go back soon
The food was delicious. Not the best Thai food I've ever had (Wonder Spice in Jamaica Plain) but very good nonetheless. The atmosphere was interesting... The space was small so it was a little tight and crowded, and awkward when first walking in, but cozy. The service was average, though overall it was a good experience. Solid restaurant overall.
