Pho Ramen and Thai Noodle
I would always pass by here, but don’t be fooled by the simple name like I was, this place is such a gem! Delicious noodles, extremely flavorful broths, the Thai soups are some of the best I’ve had in Boston. You can’t go wrong with anything here really, worth the wait for a table in this tiny but phenomenal spot, definitely running back here soon!
I have been visiting Soup Shack a few at their JP location but yesterday I decided to have lunch at their Brookline location. There were not a lot of people on Thursday for lunch so we were immediately seated. I got the Spicy Miso Beef Ramen and my partner got the Shoyu ramen. Both were delicious on a cold windy day. The spicy miso beef was the right amount of salty with a good amount of depth and spice. The noodles were not overcooked and still have a bit of chew to them. My favorite part was the bamboo. The shoyu ramen was creamy and with a light amount of pepper to it. Also, very good. We both added an egg to our ramen for $2.95 each which were also delicious. I have also tried their Tom Yum noddles before and it was also a good choice.
Came for a late lunch with a friend. So many great options, ended up deciding on the Tom Yum Noodle soup. Surprised with the topping choices, but the pork and fish balls were tasty. Broth was good but not enough, noodles not fully submerged even. Could’ve had more of that familiar tang of Tom yum as well. Friend had the pho, had a taste and the broth was so nice and rich. Overall really good and looking to try the pho next time!
Mostly we use takeout. The food is always delicious. For over a dozen orders the quality has been consistent and there have been no mistakes. That they have very low staff turnover is a great sign! Also, we love patronizing smaller businesses.
Came for dinner with my family on a weekday night and it wasn’t too busy. The appetizers were amazing, particularly the Takoyaki and the Charsiu baos. Wasn’t a huge fan of the fried oyster. The ramen selection was great, and so was the Tom yum noodle soup, although the Saigon udon was a bit disappointing. Overall, they have a big selection so would recommend stopping by and trying a few!
Don't let the generic name fool you. The food here is quite tasty. I highly recommend the duck noodle soup. Some of the most savory broth I've ever had.
The have a good season menu. Today I had the Saigon udon. Chicken was crispy and good seasoning. Came with a tasty soy sauce. The udon noodles were tasty and had a nice bounce to them. Service is always friendly
Ba Mi Heang was so good!

Very slow service

By far best ramen in town!
Great little spot for soups. We had the shoyu chicken ramen: delicious. Nice rich depth of flavor with a mix of the freshness of the green onion. We got the extra for the eggs, and it was totally worth it: that egg yolk mixed with the ramen broth was delicious, it added some creaminess and some sweetness. The noodles were slightly al dente, too.
We also got the chicken wings: those were ok, very crunchy and moist inside, but not as impressive as the ramen.
Our waitress was also perfect: she was this kind little lady, very subtle in her demeanor, quiet and happy.
Nice atmosphere with a bit of calm pop music at the right volume to allow for comfortable conversation.
We’ll certainly come again.

Both the food and the service were very disappointing. The server was really cold and unpleasant and made it obvious that she was annoyed by most requests- even simple ones. This place is NOT good for vegetarians or vegans. They only have one option, and it is a soy-sauce-based dish. They do add a few veg toppings, but they don;t have a miso bowl or a spicy bowl, or any soups that are not ramen. Most items are pork. I also developed a stomach issue shortly after eating- I'm not sure if there was pork in my soup or if something else affected me.
Super fast and delicious soups. Try the Jamaica plain location too.
They don’t support the delivery’s we are the ones who’s out there trying to make some cash and afford the orders for them and they don’t let us use the restroom when we need…they need to remember ,we are powerfully working and being human it’s not just smiling to us it’s the attitude ,I don’t like to feel like discriminated by others….
Food was great. High quality and fairly priced. The waiters were nice

The ramen is good as they are a mini chain and I consider their recipe may be Americanised more or less. I think they find a good spot in between the original and the local flavor. The Brookline store is cute, and the waitress is fantastic - she is friendly and fast!
I just DoorDashed but the Pho with the shrimp dumplings was amazingggggg
Si te gusta el Ramen, este sitio es top en Brookline!
Great food, I did think it was a bit too spicy, but that’s my fault for ordering the spicy miso beef stew.

It was getting close to dinner time and we were hungry and we stopped in on a whim. We both ordered Pho Gao and it was delicious with generous portions of chicken. I also had the shredded cabbage salad and it was also excellent! Are waitress was very friendly and helpful with understanding the menu. It clearly labeled any dietary restrictions. And everything was super affordable.
Es un lugar muy interesante sobre todo las comidas me encantan el ramen es muy bueno y la calidad de atención muy buena
I was so disappointed at my Pho. It was not made by beef broth but by clear MSG water. I would never order from them again.
One of the best restaurants in Coolidge Corner! Awesome food and the sweetest service staff in the world 🍜

This place serves really good ramen! I had the black tonkotsu ramen and on a seprate ocassion, I ordered one of their rice bowls and loved it. I am planning to try more of their menu because it is m worth the price.
The place is pretty small, but it's also worth waiting here! The staff are nice and did not hesitate to make space for us to sit because it would have been too cold for us to be waiting outside.
The place is a little small but the food is awesome. The staff are also really nice. I took the tonkotsu ramen. The broth had a lot of flavour and even the noodles were really tasty.
Came in here for dinner the other night and had been dreaming of having chicken Katsu curry. I have had ramen from here and it’s really good. I could over look the chicken thighs used instead of breast as the curry is really good.
On my third bite there was a big black hair sticking out of the food. Ok they brought a replacement. As this point I ate as I was starving and still grossed out 🤮🤢 but the “sucks to be you service” was hard to swallow. The owner/manager was there and did nothing to make it up to us other then bring us napkins. Absolutely not cool especially for a $70 meal.😤
Great little place had the ramen it was great and had 2 of the pork bun sandwich they were delicious
Tip: Usually good amount of street parking a nice ice cream place nearby for dessert.
This place is definitely a must try if you like pho. I usually go to “pho viet” but honestly this place might be just as good or even better. Unfortunately I cannot say the ramen was as great as it was okay. But I would definitely come back to try another pho or even the Thai noodle soups. Price-flavored value is p good.
A cozy spot for soup lovers! I was visiting from Florida to my sister here and I was looking for a place to take her to; She’s not a huge Asian food person. We both loved it here. The food was amazing, it was affordable, and the service was perfect. If you have any preferences, please let them know and they’ll accommodate!
Terrible service !
I had to wait for a 20 minutes with my wife and kid for a free table, but they had five free places next to the windows!
ridiculous!!
Everything tastes great! People are warm and nice too. Very friendly to kids.
One of my favorite places in all of Boston. I've literally had dreams about their Tom Yum soup (although I haven't had anything else on the menu I didn't love, the Tom Yum is just next level). The appetizers are all delicious and the flan for dessert is a must!
Was killing some time in Brookline and decided to stop here for lunch; was not disappointed. The service was great! And the food was flavorful and tasty.
The portion sizes were well worth the price. I could even finish my food!
If I’m ever in the area again I’ll certainly stop by.
I come here to get soup to then drive 50minutes home and it’s usually still hot. Pretty good soup to make the trip for. Worth it. Ask for crunchy noodles to help you finish your remaining broth. Their Thai ice tea is consistently delicious as well.
Carried out Ramen this frigid January evening while visiting my sister. My spicy miso ramen was excellent, even in a plastic bowl. I appreciated the fact that their portions worked perfectly with the size bowls they provided after I added the spicy miso to my bowl of noodles and yummy extras. The spicy miso flavor was excellent - not too salty and and the miso was dissolved well into the broth. Highly recommend. The place was very cute as well though I can't tell you anything about the noise level as it wasn't particularly crowded when i went to pick up my food.
Soup Shack is always sooo delicious and the vibes are amazing. Why go anywhere else when you could go to Soup Shack?
All of the people who work here are super nice and smiling a lot and nowhere else can you hear an Ed Sheeran song followed directly by ABBA's Waterloo. Iconic transition. After we move away from the area I will need their music playlist so that I can get nostalgic about those vibes.
Of course the food is good when the establishment is filled with this much love. My partner and I have tried many of the soups and each one is unique and tasty and worth trying. Between the two of us our faves might be the Spicy Miso and Kao Soi but truly you can't go wrong with any soup at the Soup Shack.
Do yourself a favor and get some soup here to warm your soul and get you through whatever toughness has got you down.
Life is Short F…..it up! Family, Flavor, Friends
Today I decided to change it up a bit from the burgers to this small little boutique, Asian fusion Ramen place. We started with the fried oysters with a very nice spicy mustard. Then we went with the fries, squid balls. I think they’re called Toyoki. But the biggest surprise was the Black tonkatsu Ramen. When first having Ramen one must first have a sip of the broth. This broth was a pleasant surprise is very Unami, especially with the black sesame. After one sip, I gave you that feeling when you just side like you’ve had the best comfort food. The noodles for typical of Ramen noodles perfectly cooked nice and chewy and absorb the flavor out the broth. Play veggies in the Ramen as well. But what really stands out was the cha siu, thin sliced and large cut, but what you will noticed is that it has the perfect cut, four layers, marbling meat and more marbling. Then some thing that most Ramen places miss they had crispy skin, barbecue pork, big portions, and they keep the skin very crispy. I recommend anyone who comes here to try this.
Update 1/2/24. It’s unfortunately but they are no longer doing crispy pork belly just the regular one. Hope they bring it back as this is what set them apart from the rest
Best vegetarian ramen hands down!
Nice place, good environment, good food! Recommend to anyone.
I ordered delivery tonkotsu ramen from Soup shack and I would order from here again or go in person. It’s nice how the restaurant separates the broth from the noodles and toppings so that they don’t get soggy. The large bowl helps prevent the noodles from clumping together. The tonkotsu broth was more spiced and slightly less creamy than other tonkotsu broths I’ve had but I enjoyed the flavor and would probably get pho rather than ramen in the future.
Horrible establishment. No hospitality or respect for guests. Food is mid, attitude is very high. Avoid.
Rich flavor for every dish we ordered. Balanced ingredients with reasonable amounts of vegetables and generous meats. Not as oily as other restaurants. Would suggest the duck sauce can be with more citrus type, and little more kick for the curry sauce. Not quite used to the preserved bamboo shoots in the ramen. Loved the lemongrass beef broth.
Good!
It was perfect for what we wanted
Everything is perfect 💯
First time at any SoupShack. Our ramens were great! The marinated egg was superb and the special (without eggs) was a nice twist on Japanese and Thai cuisine. Atmosphere was okay - restaurant was clean, but I have a problem with them playing explicit versions of songs since this is a family restaurant.
Very tasty, filling soup. I did not dine in so can't comment on the ambiance.
Phenomenal food, phenomenal staff, phenomenal service everytime we come
Les soupes sont excellentes et le service est très rapide.
One of my favorite takeout spots in Brookline. My go to is pho ga 🍜 an excellent way to heal from sickness or emotional distress
Great food, great service. Highly recommended !!
I ordered the Black Tonkotsu Ramen. It has Pork broth, cha-shu pork (marinated braised pork belly), crispy pork belly, menma (Japanese bamboo), nori, wood ear mushrooms, sweet corn, scallion, shredded red pepper, black sesame in black garlic oil. It was savory broth. The crispy porky belly was delicious, thick cut, with crispy skin. There was also the more tender braised pork belly which was thin sliced. The toppings were plentiful.
The Pork Bulgogi Steamed Bun was also excellent. It was very flavorful and tender and the bun was soft. It has many pieces of scallions on it, so make sure you like scallions, which I do, so it was perfect.
The service was good. I was checked on and my water was refilled.
I would definitely come back to try this place again.
Street parking can get difficult right outside, but there is a nearby metered parking lot and plenty of street parking. It can just be very full during peak times for the area.
Great little place for lunch or dinner. Had the Kao Soi, and my husband had the Duck Soup. So good! Service was quick and friendly, and a great atmosphere to be able to visit with your buddy while grabbing a bite.
Discovered Soup Shack during covid and thoroughly enjoyed getting delivery. The experience was even better in better and the staff was very kind and accommodating. I was skeptical but they were able to seat a 10 person party after we called and asked. The karate was very crispy and juicy. The ramen is very flavorful but I wouldn’t hesitate to try anything else on the menu. Pictured are the Tom Yum Noodle Soup, the Tonkatsu Ramen, and the Roasted Duck Rice Bowl.
I ordered Duck Noodle Soup to take out, the noodles and duck were delicious but I was disappointed that the broth was a box broth and was not made from scratch. I can't review about others soups, I ate only the Duck Noodle Soup, I don't know if I will eat another soup there, because I don't want to have a change to eat a box broth again!!!
I've only ever ordered delivery from this place and it is my favorite ramen! Their black tonkotsu is out of this world. The soup has a nutty black sesame taste. They give pork belly two ways (crispy and braised). There's a good amount of complementary veggies. It is only missing an egg. My partner really likes their spicy miso beef stew. The beef is so tender. I also really enjoy their chicken karage! It's my favorite chicken karage in the Boston area.
I've had their pork bowls, duck bowls, and duck soup. All of it were very tasty, but I always end up with the black tonkotsu. You don't regret that one.
I did hear that the other locations are not so great, so I always stick with the Brookline location. Whatever it is they are doing, they are doing it well!
Please excuse the chicken picture! It was so good, I forgot to take a picture before I ate 3 pieces!
Pho GA soup was excellent, service was prompt, nice casual atmosphere
Girlfriend got the kao soi. Pretty good with great flavor! I got the pho ga (chicken pho).... Absolutely disgusting. The brother had no flavor and was essentially just chicken broth. It was so bad I threw it out and paid for pho from somewhere else. Do NOT get the pho ga!!! As a frequent eater of pho I can't stress this enough. There's a fantastic place in West Roxbury but they didn't happen to be open today. This place has other good stuff it seems, but they don't know how to make a pho broth. Period.
My go to place for Ramen in Brookline/Boston. The name doesn’t say much haha but it’s truly terrific food! The gyozas and baos are fantastic as well. I wish the place was bigger, as there are often a lot of people and it may get slightly crowded, but it’s so work it.
If you like spice, get the tan tan ramen. I get it every time
What an excellent find. Amazing flavors and awesome service. Keep it up and you guys will do great! Must try the katsu curry and rice. Or the spicy beef bulgogi and rice. My girlfriend had the ramen and she was just loving the broth and crispy pork. 😋 be assured that you'll be able yo relax because the servers are very attentive and repeat what you'd like and also ask you how everything came out.
Tried the Kao soi and it had great flavor with tender chicken. Would def recommend !
They are so efficient, and every single time I order from them, which I will admit, is very frequent, they have been a 12 out of 10 every single time. I love it here— atmosphere is amazing. The takeout is so streamlined, the food is fresh, and it’s good for the soul.
Very good food
The spicy beef ramen is a must try. Also their coconut water has little pieces of coconut jelly in them - sooo good. I’m not really a big fan of their apps but the ramen is so good and a huge serving that I never really need an appetizer
Good noodles here
Fantastic little Thai noodle shop. First time there we ordered the gyoza, chicken katsu curry, and the roasted duck rice bowl. The gyoza are fantastic! Both rice bowls were well seasoned. Portions are quite large! I also recently ordered the pho Thai to go and it was amazing! The broth is herbaceous and flavorful, there are plenty of noodles, and everything was packaged very thoughtfully.
nice food
I recently dined at your establishment, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the food was decent, the service provided by our server was disappointing and left a lot to be desired.
Our server was uninterested in providing us with a positive dining experience, and we had to wait an unreasonable amount of time before our orders were taken. Even then, our server seemed to be rushing through the process and did not provide us with any recommendations or guidance.
When our food finally arrived, it was not as described on the menu, and some of the items were undercooked. When we brought this to our server's attention, they did not seem to care and did not offer to replace the food or make any effort to rectify the situation.
Furthermore, the restaurant's atmosphere was lackluster, and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. It was clear that the restaurant was not adequately maintained, and the lack of attention to detail was disappointing.
Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience at your restaurant, and I cannot recommend it to others. I hope that you take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to improve your service and overall dining experience.
Satisfying my ramen cravings at Soup Shack Brookline by ordering their BLACK TONKOTSU Ramen🍜🖤 with pork broth, Cha-shu pork (Marinated Braised Pork Belly), crispy pork belly, menma (Japanese bamboo), nori, wood ear mushrooms, sweet corn, shredded red pepper, black sesame, black garlic oil and scallions.
Came with a friend around 6:25pm on a Friday evening. We were originally told the wait would be around ten minutes, but they ended up giving us the table that's set aside for pickup/delivery orders.
We both ordered the Black Tonkotsu Ramen, which I really enjoyed. The broth was on the sweeter side, which I liked, and it came with more meat than I could consume. All the textures were perfect as well. I would definitely come back to try more of their menu!
One thing to note is that the night got pretty busy, so while the servers weren't rushing us to leave, I did notice them eyeing our bowls to see if we'd be ready to leave soon. They weren't rude about it, but just keep that in mind if you're looking for a place to have a long, intimate discussion on a weekend.
One star off only because way too much salt..I didn’t think it’s that salty until I went to bed last night. I kept drinking water and going to bathroom.
Pls fix that, it’s really unhealthy.
Everything else is great, soup is beautiful and tasty and tons of delicious meat. Service is awesome.
Cozy spot. Tasty Pho, but too high of a ratio of noodles to broth + everything else in the soup.
Great service, very tasty and very well seasoned.
So underrated ramen. The pork belly was very crispy and all meat are well-cooked. Cozy place for a rainy day.
(Updated 2022 Dec) service was bad when I was there. Ramen is not hot when out with less soup, and one of the server is rude.
Food: Steamed bun with roasted duck; Takoyaki (Fried octopus ball with cabbage, green onion, yam and soy bean oil. Topped with bonito flake, scallion and Katsu mayo sauce); TONKOTSU RAMEN (Pork broth, sesame oil, Cha-shu pork (Marinated Braised Pork Belly), menma (Japanese bamboo), nori, wood ear mushrooms, shredded red pepper, black garlic oil and scallions); a side of roasted duck (for the ramen).
Ambiance: Casual, dim lit, small, homey venue.
Parking: Street meter parking is available.
Pricing: Cheap
Food (flavors): I added hoison sauce to my bao bun and loved it. The bun was soft and sweet, the duck was cooked to perfection and added a fat and savory flavor, and the other ingredients added fresh flavors to the dish. The fried octopus balls were good. As soon as you bite into it, it's presents an extremely soft texture. It almost melts in your mouth. The octopus balls, slaw, and sauce were a great combination of flavors. The ramen was savory. I think the broth overpowered any of the other ingredients in the bowl so everything tasted the same to me, it was enjoyable though. I removed the pork and added duck to my ramen though.
Portion size: Large

The noodles are cooked to perfection, the broth is excellent and the combos are great value, especially when it comes with jam-packed eggs! The M section is also very big. I like the soup to come out hot, not just lukewarm. 🥰
Decent vegan option
Soup Shack is such a hidden gem of Brookline. This was my first real bowl of ramen 🍜 I'm not not of a soup guy but this was hands down to most filling and delicious soup I've ever had. I got the spicy miso beef stew and added some sweet corn. It had the perfect level of spice and the beef was so tender it melted in your mouth. The restaurant is intimate, perfect for a date night, you don't have to worry about massive parties killing the vibe. Definitely give this place a try!
My friends recommended this restuarant so I finally came here. We ordered Agedashi Tofu, Tonkotsu Ramen, Spicy miso and Flan as a dessert. Tofu and Ramens are good and the cha-shu porks are plentiful and really tender. But Tonkotsu tastes like unfamiliar spice for me. I think this restaurant seems to taste like a Thai base. Spicy miso tastes like gochujang jjigae. Later I'd like to try more Thai food like Tomyang noodle. We just ordered Flan out of curiosity. It was amazing! I highly recommend Flan if you want to have a delicious dessert:) Plus, I really like their sevice as well.
Back when I was away from home for so so long, this place truly reminded me of home!!! The wanton noodle soup is amazing and it tasted every single bit back like home. The aunties and waiters were so welcoming as well. And after chancing upon it at the corner of my place in Brookline, I made it a point to visit every week. When my family visited from Singapore, they were so impressed because it put our own wanton noodle soup to shame!!! (and Singapore is the land of wanton noodle soup)
Tldr: GET THE WANTON NOODLE SOUP!!!!
Ps, posting this because I miss this place and the food so so so much! It made the 9500miles between Singapore and Boston feel so much closer 🥹
wonderful ramen experience!
Nice and cozy place for lunch. The broths are amazing and full of flavors. The portions are very good value for money. If you like spicy dishes I strongly recommend the Khao Sai with the creamy coconut broth and fantastic pickles. Highly recommended and will definitely become a go to place for weekend lunches!
Apps are great. Ramen is above average, but not top-tier. Big portions, expect to take some home - which makes for a great meal the next day.
Great gyoza and ramen! Generous portions and friendly staff.
Cute place with a good relaxed atmosphere. The portions are quite big. Overall, a solid place for lunch!
I had the black sesame tonkatsu. It was quite unique with ground black sesame, but the flavor profile overall was quite normal.
There was quite a lot of pork in these and they were really well cooked.
Consistently great food. Gyoza are delicious.
We are in town, visiting on vacation, and popped in for some pho. We ended up getting pho, ramen, and a rice bowl (each in our party had a different craving). The service was splendid, the food delicious, and we were served incredibly fast. Could not give a higher recommendation. A MUST GO!!!
Great food! A variety of options so you can have something new each visit - and you'll come back after you eat here.
Great variety of Thai, Japanese noodles. Outdoor seating two 4 seat outdoor tables, and two 2 seat outdoor tables.
Today something outrageous happened. Me and my friend went here for ramen and we are vegetarians in my friends ramen a bug was there we didn’t wanted to create a ruckus so we quietly told them and they discounted one dish from the bill and we paid whatever amount they said for the other dishes and we decided to give no tip as there was bug in it and the waitress was not responsive when we ask things and didn’t care there was a bug.. THEN WHEN WE WENT OUTSIDE AFTER PAYING THE BILL THE WAITRESS CAME OUTSIDE AND TOLD US THAT “YOU HAVE TO GIVE THE TIP SIR NO MATTER WHAT”. WE WERE UTTERLY SHOCKED WITH HER BEHAVIOR WE DID GIVE HER WHATEVER TIP SHE WANTED BECAUSE SHE STARTED SAYING THINGS LIKE “YOU GUYS ARE RUDE AND THIS IS AMERICA I DONT KNOW WHERE DO YIU GUYS COME FROM YOU HAVE TO OAY THE TIP.” SO WE PAID.
Such a RACIST , Bad Attitude place and would never recommend anyone to go there. THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
Hard pass. No utensils in our delivery order. Cold when it arrived. Sub par tonketsu at best, and I'm coming from the tundra of Alberta.
Bugs in soup
The most quality and quantity per dollar I've devoured in Brookline thus far. Amaaazing ramen!
I really liked this place. But I think calling it soup shack is a little bit of a misnomer. I went in with my 7-year-old son because he loves squash soup and they definitely don't have that here. This is more like a Noodle ramen place that has Pho and some rice bowls. The food was outstanding but make sure you know that before you come, you won't find minestrone, cream of anything, or squash soup here. You will find some very tasty ramen and a very good rice bowl. I didn't try the Pho but I think I will come back sometime and try that.
Good price, good food, happy bout it!
One of our favorite places to eat in Brookline—we come multiple times a month. My favorite soups are the shoyu, spicy miso and tonkotsu ramens. My boyfriend gets the mi wonton every time. Also love the pho ga. I’m addicted to the chicken karaage. Also the steamed bun is incredible.
I’ve been to this location for dine-in many times. Today, I ordered take out because we wanted to eat outside. We pre-ordered, and when we got there, noticed they had outdoor seating. They did not allow us to sit as we were takeout. So we had to go to a nearby park to eat (2 min walk away). Once we got there, we took out our food and noticed that they gave us uncooked beef and cool soup. I understand that beef pho should come as raw beef, HOWEVER, the soup was not even hot so it would NOT have even cooked the beef. They expected me to eat raw beef pho and not allow us to eat there.
Got delivery for the first time here and the quality was almost just as good as eating it there (which is really rare! A lot of times especially Ramen, when getting take out or delivery, the quality and taste is just not as good). But considering this was delivery, the soup was still hot and the toppings were not soggy or cold. I would get delivery again when craving Ramen next time!
This was the most disgusting soup I’ve ever eaten I ordered something called the Yasai Ramen soup . I walked in and paid and then left with my order . The first thing I noticed was the smell , I couldn’t quite identify it other than to say it stunk , rank like egg . Then I figured I May as well taste it and it tasted a awful as it smelled . It came with a bowl of vegetables and tofu in a separate container ( the idea is that you add the both to the veggies ) so I’d figured maybe it’s just this particular broth that stinks so bad so I walked back in to simply request a different flavor broth . This was the moment they pretended not to speak a word of English and simply told me no they made no offer to refund the $12 .which tells a person all they need to know about a business. They are in this for the money only and clearly know their quality of food is terrible . Any business worth your money would make even a small attempt to make not regret a purchase . Never again in Brookline or any of their locations .
P.S. when I got back to my car it still stuck if that rancid soup 🤮
Very delicious ! The fried gyoza was my favorite app. The karaagee chicken was ok. I feel like there was too much batter for me but if you like fried chicken it's pretty crunchy. The spicy miso ramen was very delicious it came with yellow ramen noodles. The Tom yum noodle soup was sweet and sour but more on the sour limey side. It came with pho noodles. The Tom yum soup got too much for me after a few bites due to how sour it was. It was good but not enough for me to enjoy a full bowl without my tongue coming off I order the chicken rice bowl to go and that was very delicious as well. Came with pickled carrots and veggies. I would come back and try the other ramens and soups!
It was my first pick-up order from Soup Shack. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen. The size is decent. Given that I often get pick-up/delivery orders that come in size much smaller than I would get in the store, I am quite happy with this order. The broth is thick and delicious.
Good service, great food, and definitely would come back!
Our waitress was efficient and kind and food was great. We got the edemame, veggie steamed bun, agedashi tofu (lightly battered tofu in broth), and the spicy miso ramen w/o chashu, added egg. The bun and edemame and bun were standard but the ramen and agedashi tofu are definitely worth going back for. The tofu had slightest crisp on the outside, silky inside, and the broth was awesome. Everything about the ramen was perfect. The noodles were just the right level of firmness, the egg the perfect balance of cooked whites/jammy yolk, and the broth just amazing with lots of different layers of spice and savor. The ramen alone is reason to go back and I definitely will!
The service was sub par . I usually never write reviews but after looking at reviews and rating of 4.7 I was excited to try their ramen. It was top 3 worst ramen I ever had . I live in Massachusetts and being half japanese loving ramen i have tried multiple ramen places and this one was really bad. The soup is what makes the ramen but it was just awful. I only wanted to post an honest review so no one is fooled by the rating. If in doubt just take a chance and see for yourself like I did .
So flavorful and with really friendly staff!
Too salty.
This is one of the best Ramen places I’ve been to. I ordered Tonkotsu and it was so delicious. Pork was incredibly tender and the broth was very flavorful. Perfect on a cold windy day! The restaurant doesn’t have much seating, but servers were very attentive and the food came fast. Will be my go to ramen spot in Allston/Brookline.
