Thai Restaurant
Was stuck in Waldorf for a few hours and deciding to find somewhere to have dinner. Don't let the outside fool you; this place has delicious, well made, authentically spiced Thai food! The bartender was great, my drink was strong, and the other patrons sitting at the bar with me were friendly. Great atmosphere and even better food.
My Waldorf go to for quick appetizers and decent drinks. I like the curry potatoe puff things and their wings. Nothing fancy here, but definitely a place worth keeping in mind when I got a sitter for a hour or 2
I’ve eaten here a time or 2 before. Today must not have been a good day for whoever took my order. Asked for 2 spring rolls some how I got 8 rolls. Asked for broccoli and brown sauce I received something called pad with no meat. And the basil fried rice had extremely huge vegetables in it very odd. Probably won’t go back. We were quoted for $40.76. My receipt when I went to pay was 48.76. Just be careful. Terrible experience for me. For the price not worth it. And the spring rolls were brown inside the first one I ate looked regular this is odd.
I absolutely love the food here. My partner and I always come here. He always gets the traditional fried rice and I get the drunken noodle. The wings and all the rolls are really good too! Lately, there has been a sewage smell which is kinda hard to adapt to during the first few minutes. I hope they fix this issue because it's been like this for months
What a kind and wonderful staff ! Sending appreciation and thanks from a customer based in North Carolina. Can't wait to come visit next time we pass through. (Thank you for your help and understanding.)

first time. oh my! food was insanely delicious, service was awesome. didn't want my meal to end. can't wait to go back.
Update : now a regular. Twice a week minimum. Tip Tam and Blue well. They work so hard. Always a smile.
Excellent food, quaint atmosphere and strong drinks

I’ve had the chicken pad thai noodles and the shrimp fried rice... soooo soooo good!! They’re reasonably priced as well.
Food was great! The initial entry to the establishment presented a foul odor that mat turn away some guests. Restrooms were clean. Peanut sauce is excellent!
Reasonably priced.
Super polite staff.
Nice ambiance/adequate parking.
We had dinner here as recommended by a family member. 4 adults and 3 kids. Food was delicious, the place was clean, and the service was fast and friendly. We ordered shrimp fried rice, drunken noodles, green curry, red curry, beef, shrimp dish with a couple of plain rice. The servings were large and perfect for our family. I would definitely come back when we are visiting Maryland again!
Excellent restaurant. Was greeted, seated, had my order taken quickly. Waitress was friendly. Food was lovely. Would eat here again.
Great Flavor and Great Service!
Food was delicious and the drinks were strong but so yummy.
Papaya salad I ordered was tooo sweet. Most is the food we ordered was way too sweet. They need to cut down on putting so much sugar in the food!
The food is delicious with different spice levels to choose from. You have to enjoy Thai to really enjoy Thai, if not you’ll just be picking out the different ingredients added that contribute to Thai food flavor. There are dishes with peanuts so definitely pay attention. Other than that they have a nice atmosphere, it’s a little small but definitely a vibe.

My main concern with Thai Palace lies with its customer service. There's room for improvement, so here's a word of advice to the manager: Take accountability when a customer reports an incorrect order. Accountability, both as a company and as individuals, goes a long way if you're willing to accept it. Eventually, we have to get to a point where if the food is good, the customer service matches. Please don't take offense if you read this, we ALL have areas for improvement.
They never miss! Always hot, fresh and flavorful
Always good as usual!!!!
I live this place. Good place to take your family.
Drinks are delicious.
Food was good and drinks were reasonable and strong hehehehehe. Food came out in five minutes
I’m not sure how this place got an overall 4.4. I’m very upset that I wasted $63 on this place. The food had no taste. Very bland. I had to season it myself. I didn’t have the time to drive all the way back for a refund. I ordered and broccoli and salmon stir fry, breaded butterfly shrimp and crab fried rice. Everything was tasteless…so disappointed.
The rice 🍚 That comes with the curry, is extremely smaller than what it was before. I've frequent this spot for years. Typically the rice is about twice this size (see pic) And I would always have to order a side of rice additionally. Very disappointing, especially with the price increase.
Yesterday, I bought $111.00 worth of food. I hadn't been here in a while, so I'm thinking (despite some reviews) I would give it a try again. I ordered spring rolls (good), Wild chicken (ok), and ten wings that had a smell to them and were very blan (very bad). I also ordered Fried Duck (I didn't know what to expect with w/pieces), but it looked horrible and tasted the same way as it looked. I ordered two Fried rice, one with shrimp and the other with pork, chicken, and w/shrimp (the shrimp slightly smelled). (I thought) By going when they first opened (I thought), the food would be fresh. This was a to-go order. I would have sent most of it back if I were dining in. Yes, I donated $ 111.00+ to this place, but not again. My hopes were up when I went, but they let me down. Like someone had written in the reviews, I will say, 'Go at your own risk."
This is the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I ordered the Pad Thai noodles and fried rice it was cold and awful. It had no flavor. I don’t recommend. It tasted more like Chinese than Thai. The prices are high and the food is awful. If you taste real Thai food this is not it. Don’t waste your money, not worth
Basil chicken and the steam dumplings are very good, along with the hot sour soup.
Food was okay, definitely over priced. Service was alright as well. Not an awful place just know you will fork out some money for mediocre Thai food.
I love this place. Google states they close at 1000. I was turned around at the door by the tall buff guy because he said they stop dining at 930. Mind you, I showed up at 927. I don’t know when they started doing that. Update: went back and love the changes and everyone was very nice! Not sure if this the time thing is still happening
The pineapple fried rice is great. The atmosphere is OK unless it's later towards closing and the bar next door has really loud music playing.
Apparently they stop taking dine in customers at 9:15 PM on Saturdays. This isn't posted on the website nor on the door. When I walked in and asked to be seated, the lady had an attitude.
The food is fresh and always good
It's been awhile since I've been here. Now I know why I stopped coming in. The food isn't as good as when I 1st came in. I ordered the Dumpling appetizer and it was nothing like I remember.
Outstanding execution on Thai food. I'd take this place over ANY near me in Alexandria, any day. They don't mess around with spice levels either.
Food amazing!!
The Tom Yum is excellent. Two thumbs up.
My family normally enjoys eating here, however the past couple of times the food seemed to be lacking in flavor, but we assumed that the chef was having a bad day (we've been coming here for over 4 years). Fast forward to today, and we received subpar food again, but the portion sizes were much SMALLER! I've read some other reviews stating the same thing, but today we finally saw it for ourselves. Additionally, they have increased the prices of some of their items. Higher prices + less tasteful food + smaller portions= one less customer. As one fellow reviewer mentioned, time to find another Thai food option. Will not be returning.
I had an amazing customer service experience however I was highly disappointed with the food. The Basil fried rice had huge chunks of vegetables in it, and taste like nothing but basil (no other flavor). I also got the veggie curry puffs which had potential, but were also unappetizing due to them being sweet.
I always love the food and service there but the prices have really increased.
THE YOUNG PHILIPPINE GIRL WAITER WAS IN THE RESTROOM POOPING, GOT UP & WALKED RIGHT OUT WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS‼️
I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO LEAVE AFTER EXITING THE RESTROOM, BUT SAW HER FIXING SOMEONE A SHOT & HAD HER HANDS ALL OVER THE GLASS, I LET THE COUPLE RECEIVING THE DRINK KNOW. THE FOOD WAS GREAT, BUT I CAN NEVER COME BACK AFTER SEEING THAT
Amazing food!! This restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the delicious food.
The food was nasty, I decided to give this place a try and I ordered drunken noodles with veggies it was not visually appealing or tasty. I could not finish the meal it was bland. I requested medium spicy.
I just moved out here in Waldorf the month of January, been going to this Thai Palace ever since. After ordering the SAME fried rice dish I always get for $7.50 and seeing how they scaled down the bowl size, but kept the price the same I’m Done ✔️ I won’t be coming back here anymore….time to venture out and find a new place! *Checkout my photo, I keep the bowls and reuse them…..just look 👀 at the size difference, and you still pay the SAME price for the smaller bowls.
i’ve been coming here with my family for years, love the food here everytime and i wouldn’t recommend any other thai place than this one when you are in waldorf.
Been going here for a while and I can say that the food is the best thai food in Maryland!
I tried the drunken noodles with chicken and that was the worst thing I’ve ever had. Wayyyyy to many noodles! Texture was like thinly sliced soggy pork. Southern Maryland is the worst for food ever
The drunken noodles were delicious!
Not worth the prices they charge. This restaurant is a finesse
I’ve eaten here a time or 2 before. Today must not have been a good day for whoever took my order. Asked for 2 spring rolls some how I got 8 rolls. Delicious!!! The best Thai food in the area they open at 4pm daily
Very good service and delicious food.
Food was great but the ambience was a bit lacking. Trust me though, I will go again. I had the Thai Basil Fried rice and it was on point!
Yellow curry was oily and running. I am use to milky and thicker . Taste was fine but not great
Busiest Thai restaurant I've dined at. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, very tasteful and hearty portions.
The young lady who took my Walk In Take Out order was professional, polite and helpful.
I was very surprised as the coconut soup was THE BEST I’ve had since leaving San Diego in 2001! The coconut and lemon grass perfect! Shrimp fresh. Could offer little more mushroom, raw green onion or little tofu, but authentic flavor!!
The Pad Thai was fresh, beef tender not fatty at all. However, PT has a very unique flavor that I’ve not found here, including Thai Palace. But it was generous and a delish noodle dish.
Thank you Thai Palace
06/03/2023 - I think this is the best Thai food place in Southern Maryland. I will always get Basil Chicken Fried Rice at the spice level 2 and tasted tremendous.
food hits everytime!! Love the pad thai and the Boba drinks are good too! Fast service as well. Try for yourself, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Food was very good, will be back for more
The food was flavorful, they made adjustments without any qualms, they kept me hydrated which was especially helpful when I put a tad too much spice on my food. The food is really good.
It was a long time since I last ate here. I normally go to an authentic Thai restaurant. I'm not saying this is not authentic, however there are couple of things that I noticed. The Thai Iced Tea does not taste like most others that I've had. It tastes a bit more like sweet tea than Thai Tea. Also, I ordered ginger chicken, I don't remember the exact menu name, but the ginger was very mild. So mild that I thought I was given chicken in garlic sauce because the dish was heavy on the dark soy sauce base - which I am not used to. This caused the dish to be quite salty too. We also ordered a ginger shrimp, and it was mentioned that there wasn't much shrimp. I think about 4 shrimp. Lastly, the portions seemed a bit on the small side when considering the prices for the dinner entrees.
My husband and I decided to come here for a low key dinner to celebrate our Anniversary at the last minute and I was so glad we came. Food was great restaurant was clean and the waitress was super sweet. I had the Pad Thai, shrimp fried rice and spring rolls. My husband had the pork fried rice, wings and veggie puffs. Portions are huge I wasn't able to finish any of my food and I never even made it to my fried rice. We will definitely be back.
Food and drinks are always good.
Great food and friendly service.
Top Tier! The food was excellent!!
Unfortunately a club moved next door. The loud music ruins the atmosphere, but the food and service are TOP NOTCH
This is a great little spot for tasty Thai cuisine. I love the atmosphere and the staff is super friendly. They make the food sufficiently spicy if you want it that way 😋. Been eating here for about 6 years and never had a bad experience. Give it a try! Thai food is delicious and they do it right 🙂.
Great food and service
Good food, good service.
Update: The food is good, my husband enjoys the Pad Thai (3 spice level) and I enjoy the Thai Basil rice with added broccoli and shrimp (0.5 or 1 spice level). They've also improved their takeout bagging process since my initial review.
Didn't even get to taste the food because of the cheap to go bags, the bottom tore open and all of my food hit the concrete....$40 wasted...because they put nearly 5lbs of food in a dollar store kraft bag...so annoyed
I have visited this place a few times. I had issues with my food a week prior and the manager made it right. I truly would recommend this restaurant. I had shrimp lomein and he had cashew shrimp. Both dishes were excellent and the service was great!
This is the best place I have ever been to.
If you go to this place I suggest the Crispy duck.
Its is really good
The food was pretty good, definitely on a sweeter side. We really enjoyed delicious crunchy spring rolls! Yum yum yum.
Unfortunately the customer service was mediocre
I have yet to find a Thai restaurant that meets my expectations without having to go to Virginia.
I have been disappointed each time that I have tried eating here. My food has not always been of the freshes quality. You can always tell by the brocolli color and the texture of shrimp (overcooked). The shrimps were skimpy in number. News alert: When you pay better than good money the shrimp should come plentiful. AND the service should be geniunely friendly and respectful especially in a place as beautifully decorated. Ambiance of the place is beautiful so please make the food and the service compliment.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 TORCH 🧯💣💣🧨🧨
Great food. Friendly staff.
I started drinking Thai tea at 10 and I am now 34. I used to come to thai palace for years but then the food started to not taste the same. I went and got a Thai tea just now and yet it is sweet and has the milk in it like how it's suppose to be but I know how Thai tea is suppose to taste and this is definitely not it. It taste like regular sweet tea with milk in it but not just that, the milk in Thai tea always goes to the bottom to give it that perfect mix. Why is it with the one I got, the milk ain't even trying to go to the bottom after stirring it. This is definitely not Thai tea. It's a rip off and they charge 9.00 for this ?!?
I don't know why they now cook everything spicy, even when you specifically ask for no spice. I am done. Used to be my favorite.
Have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. We usually get takeout, but today we dined in. Excellent service, food came quickly, water glasses never empty, big portions, delicious food, nothing but good things to say about this place.
this was our first time going to this place, food was ok...our waitress was probably high or drunk. We ordered one the food she recommend Pad Thai noodles. We also ordered chicken fried rice and wings. We asked her if the wings were WHOLE wings?she said yes and even described the size of the wings. Lie lie lie it was all drumsticks. I told her "I thought you said it was whole wings"? Waitress said oh you mean a whole wings? Duhhhhhhh. We asked for 1(one) ginger ale she comes back with 2 ginger ale
Lovely atmosphere
I enjoy coming to this Thai restaurant. My food has been good everytime I've ordered from here.
Small, quiet place with delicious food. We made reservations for a party of ten. They took excellent care of us.
Don't let the store front throw you. The food is amazing, worth the trip. Flavors wonderful and portion sizes not skimpy. All I can say is if the restaurant next door wouldn't of been closed I would of never stumbled across this gem.
Food was good but the Cashier "Emma" was not very friendly and unapproachable. When asking her about the food she was very short, and wouldn't explain about food selections. She needs remedial training on customer service.
I like this spot but getting someone to assist with phone orders is getting difficult. They don’t answer some times. And today someone answered and told me to call back later because they’re busy. SMH
Although the food was good, they left out the chicken and beef in my basil rice. I did get the shrimp 🍤 in it.
Staff was super nice. Food was pretty good as well. That dumpling soup was delicious!
Great place to dance and enjoy some good Thai food
Meh
WE HAD HAIR IN OUR FOOD DONT COME HERE AMD THE SUPERWOMAN TASTE LIKE COUGH SYRUP!!!!! Don’t eat here !!!!
Huge portions for the money and nice litte bar. Nothing fancy just good food.
1st visit, most definitely will return. Excellent customer service, friendly, & cozy atmosphere. Food a little pricey but delicious, well prepared & good to the very last drop.
The service was Excellent as we're the food and drinks.
Honestly I'll never get tired of this place. The food is ALWAYS good and every dish I've tried has been delicious. The Pad Prik Khing and Pad Basil are my faves. Oh AND they have the best drinks in Waldorf.
Not overly impressed. Maybe it was today's cook, but the 1 pepper heat rating should have been at least a 4 on one meal. The red curry plate had way too much anise, I couldn't eat it. They were nice about it and took my meal off the bill. Now, I iove Thai but not so much at this place. Likely won't come back.
Food is delicious!
Sweet and sour soup was delicious
Spring rolls were delicious and cooked perfectly
Steamed dumplings had awesome flavor and I could have drank the dipping sauce.
Fried banana with vanilla ice was the highlight. Sooooo good!
Food was good. Service was good. Would definitely be back.
I've been to so many Thai restaurants. I've gotten take out from this place multiple times and I'd say it was "just good". But today I've finally had it as a dine in experience- it was OUTSTANDING. If you crave a Thai iced tea like I do, then this is the BEST place to get it in the area. The service here is even better than the food, and that just sounds crazy but it's true. They're attentive but not overbearing and they're so polite. I'm so happy to have this so close to my house!
Just landed and we needed a quick meal before heading to our family home and unpacking. Had a drink while we waited *amaretto sour* is my favorite and this is my new favorite bartender. Everything was great and packed full of flavor. Ample of menu choices. Reasonably priced. Full and filling portions. Professional and friendly staff. Drinks with kick. 5 star experience all around. Will be returning.
Joined a friend for dinner here tonight. I was very excited about trying to crispy duck because there were so many great reviews on Google and Yelp. I was grossly disappointed. The sauce on the duck had no flavor other than oil and salt and the duck itself didn't taste fresh. I exchanged it for the drunken noodles with chicken. This was better but still failed to deliver on flavor. I ate some of it because I was hungry. The spring rolls were very good as well as the drinks. The service was fairly good but the dining area is very small and tight. The food was definitely not Thai flavored at all. It's more like bad Chinese carryout food. I will not be going back.
Unfriendly
Great Customer Service!
Good Thai food and excellent customer service
This Restaurant really impressed me by the service and very friendly staff. I did a quick run through and inspection of the place, from the front entrance to the bar to the restrooms I was amazed! Very clean, Great food, waitresses are friendly and welcoming. It might be small but it has a wonderful family atmosphere, and they’re big on customer service!
tasty food, fresh, staff forgot my hot tea, but otherwise on point
Lovely place.
Very friendly staff and the food is delicious! Samantha is the best
One of my favorite restaurants in Waldorf! Great prices for large servings of delicious authentic Thai food.
Food was excellent! Some of the best Thai I've ever had. I ate so fast I forgot to take a pic. Fast service with super friendly staff, I wish this place were closer to my house. I will be back.
The service at this place is absolutely terrible. On more than one occasion the service members spoke and acted very disrespectfully to my family. Service personnel do not give an attitude to customers when asked questions, much less give rude answers. The last straw was when a waitress spoke rudely with my wife in Thai and then turned to me, leaned against the table and ‘tried’ to explain what she was saying. Nope, we got up and left right there on the spot. Called afterwards to speak with the owner, got the manager on shift who gave excuses for the poor conduct and then lied at the end to say she was the owner.Never again eating at this place.
They also state they don’t serve authentic Thai cuisine. Then why open a ‘Thai’ restaurant then? Should labs it as fusion then if not actually Thai.
Water down ingredients in curry and coconut sauce with not authentic Thai dishes recipes;Thai do not have bell peppers, carrots or whole string beans and peanut not being crushed.Water down dipping sauce-not thick or rich flavor.
What a hidden gem! Traveled this road for many years and today was our first time eating here. Hubby and I had dumpling soup, steamed dumplings, shrimp pad Thai and pork country style curry (level 2 🌶 😋). So fresh every mouthful was an explosion of flavor!! Oh and the drinks are poured to our satisfaction. 😉😉 We highly recommend this restaurant!!
Excellent service and tasty meals. I had the Hot and Sour Soup, Spicy Egg Plant, and Fried Tofu for an appetizer. My friend had the Wild Chicken.
Super good! I had the Pad Thai with seafood. The portion was generous with lots of mussels, shrimp and scallops. The heat was a little on the not so spicy side, probably due to the local palette. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
This is my first time at Thai Palace in Waldorf MD. I drove an hour just want to try it out. Wow, let me tell you the food is authentic Thai delicious. Everything is prepared just right and the service is top notch with a smile. I really enjoyed the relaxed environment and most definitely it is a restaurant that I will visit more frequent. Highly recommended!!!!!
Eat here every weekend . Food is amazing. Staff is even better! Air is always our waitress and she is the best . First Thai place that holds true to Thai spice
The food is always so good and the drinks are strong but good! Always a good vibe here
Yessss!! One of my favorite places to eat!! And Sam the bartender is hilarious and she makes great drinks!
Overrated! With all of the rules and warnings on their menu I just knew this place was going to be delicious. We ordered take out and the panang curry was a runny mess and the broccoli wrapped in foil stuffed inside my curry bowl 🤢 the rice was old and rewarmed and the chicken overdone. I’m convinced by the reviews that the Waldorf locals have never had a true Thai food experience and Thai Palace’s chef must know it!
There was a possible mix up with some one using my email. Samantha was so helpful and quick to see how she could be of service. If I'm every in Maryland I will thank her in person.
Great food! This place is legit! The spice is serious. Love it!
Enjoyed the food & have great drinks!
Good thai
The food is always delicious! Even better when you get to enjoy it in the resturaunt versus takeout.
My always favorite place my favorite server Air she always make us feel special
The food and service was very good.
