Tiny, no-frills joint with a couple outdoor tables & familiar Thai dishes like curries & fried rice.
I decided to try this restaurant out today (skeptical as Upper Marlboro is notorious for having really bad restaurants in terms of quality and service). My goodness the quality really is superb.
Deals my meal (delivery) was served in take away plastic and lined with foil which help retain the heat in the food and prevents the usual corroding of your food with cheap white plastic bowls like i noticed in other restaurants (ingenious).
I also noticed the food was not oily, and the chicken was well cut, cooked and spiced.
The vegetable was soft, crunchy and not soggy. The food was fresh and the spring rolls ... gosh the cook went to work on this meal. It was really great. I initially thought this was just a one off experience until i noticed the other reviews which are also stellar hence my detailing this one.
Mom thai's is definitely my favorite hence forth. I would recommended this to anyone looking for quality, fresh Asian food..
It's legit. Pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles w chicken are insanely good. Very friendly and fast. Food is delivered piping hot. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 isn't because of the food. It's the business dealings. Currently as I write this review their website is down. They often don't have delivery drivers. At times they will randomly close for days at a time - this is a frequent occurrence. At one point they decided they weren't opening on the weekends at all. They had a best selling, amazingly flavored mango sticky rice that they simply discontinued even though customers (including me) begged for it to come back. So much for giving the customer what they want. Why not replace it with something, anything... But when u ask... Nothing. They simply stopped carrying it.
Edible perhaps, but not good thai food. Drunken noodles were too sweet, not enough basil flavor, not good at all. The pad thai was also way too sweet, no thai flavors. The Kaprow was watery and tasted like just soy sauce and sugar, not the renowned thai basil - garlic - chili combination at all. I don't know how this place got more than 2 stars. The customer service was nice for a take out place and the portion sizes were ample. Thus the two stars. Food quality and taste were just too! too! subpar to other thai places I am used to dining at. I wished I liked this place, as it would be nice to have another option, and they do close arbitrarily whenever they want without notice. There doesn't seem to be any set days or times. I waited to try them out for a whole because of this.
First time visit. Placed order in store. Gentleman taking order greeted me and was nice. I ordered spring rolls and veggie stir fry. Order was ready in 20 min as promised. The food looked good and tasted great.
Complete tucked away hiding behind all of the giant buildings and court houses and bail bonds this Thai food oasis needs to be discovered by all. The Thai iced tea is mouth gasm worthy. We had the yellow curry the Penang curry and the Pat Thai with spring rolls over the last week. This place is nothing but amazing. The owner of this wonderfully delightful and friendly. Whether you're in the area for a court dates or jury duty walk right over and have yourself a wonderful lunch. The best part about this whole thing is that he would deliver. -- Capt Brian Mayer (Marauder Charters) Come fishing soon!
D E L I C I O U S...period. One word to describe the before and after taste of the Panang Curry Chicke and Tom Yum Chicken Soup. The location can be missed easily (It's the place with Red door on the right side of the street (across from the Chinese place). The customer service was good. The gentlemen behind the counter was very friendly and the food came out quick enough for fresh food. I drove home and the food was still piping hot and just wonderful. If you are looking for Thai and your near Landover, take the drive over to this place. It's great food. I loved it and I'm picky about Thai food.
I think its a wonderful place. And my family and I enjoy the awesome dishes there. And the chef on a scale for 1-10 is a 10 being the highest for making nice meals. :) its a place you must try!
The food is good quality and way better than anything in the surrounding area. The owner is very friendly. Good food, good people.
