Thai Food and Sushi
Clean restaurant with friendly service and very reasonable prices. Was able to try a wide assortment of dishes, which were all very tasty and flavorful.
My favorite was the Pad Thai which had the signature salty, umami taste from the fish sauce. I think it's one of the best I've had in the area so I would definitely recommend that. The papaya salad was very refreshing and I especially liked the spicy sauce from the Prik King.
My first time trying the mango sticky rice dessert. Despite mangos not being in season, I thought it was a great combination of flavors and never had anything quite like it.
Overall, I think the food was very much worth the price and I will be back if in the area. Recommend!
Ordered Basil Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles and Tom kha soup and completely disappointed with the quality. The fried rice was bland, lacking the rich flavor and seasoning that should make it a standout dish. It tasted like plain, overcooked rice with a few scattered veggies and bits of protein that barely added anything to the dish. As for the drunken noodles, they were a soggy mess, with noodles clumped together and an overly sweet sauce that masked any depth of flavor. The portion size was also smaller than expected for the price, making the meal feel even more underwhelming. If you’re looking for quality Thai food, I suggest going elsewhere.
Ordered delivery via Caviar and it came quickly. Both of my sushi rolls were disgusting. The rice was mushy and smeared with fingetprints. The avocado was brown and extremely soft. The fish was warm and stringy. Two of the yellowtail roll pieces had no fish. I still tried it and ate one piece of each before giving up. It was really gross. I used to love this place. I honestly don’t know how someone would think this is acceptable food to serve someone.
I have been going here for a few years now eating in and take out. The food I have had has always been wonderful. The pad Thai has always been one of my favorite dishes as well as good portions. The staff here are all nice people.
Hubby & I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary at Kin Da enjoying delicious Thai cuisine, a cozy atmosphere & wonderful professional service. We received complimentary yummy mango & sticky rice dessert when we shared it was our special day. Definitely 5 star dining & highly recommended!!! 11/19/2024
I’ve been twice so far and everything was delicious. Drunken noodles, sushi, and everything else has been great. Probably my favorite Thai in the area
One the of the best Thai spots in the area. Service is very attentive and overall good menu selection. Would recommend
fresh food, friendly waiters, wonderful little restaurant. me and my friends always come back!
We regularly do takeout from here. We obviously enjoy the food, and will keep coming back.

This is our go to spot for Thai and sushi.
Good sushi, vegetarian soup
Best Thai food in the area! The staff are so friendly and service is fast.

We were referred by a friend and really love it here. We've eaten in a few times since we moved here a few months ago and have gotten take out, it's all been great. Highly recommend!
This is one of the best Thai restaurant in the area.
Sushi was delicious, great service. And fast
Love it. Everything is impressive. The price is reasonable.
I was planning to move to the town. Long trip from NJ to DC. Found this gem here. 5 stars for sure for this place, will be back ! 555 !
This is a Thai and sushi place. Both are of medium quality. The Thai food is tailored to American taste and by Asian standards it lacks flavor. The quantity of rice is pretty small, again by Asian standards, but probably sufficient for Americans. The Pad Thai is sweet.
Sushi making is a specialized art and I don't like tightly packed rolls where you can't feel the texture of the rice. So it's not for me.
Overall, it's an ok place if you're in the neighborhood and want something Asian and are okay with it not being authentic.
The best! I moved away from Takoma but come here whenever I am home. The drunken noodles, Pad Thai, curries and cashew chicken are to die for.
One of our favorite rehearsal meals! They get to know your name if you order as often as we do 🤣
Some of our top picks: sweet potato tempura roll, yellowtail and scallion roll, seaweed salad, green curry, papaya salad, pad woon sen, and more!
❤️ Wicked Sycamore
Ordered delivery via Caviar and it came quickly. Both of my sushi rolls were disgusting. The rice was mushy and smeared with fingetprints. The avocado was brown and extremely soft. if i’m in dire need of a sushi boost and im in tkpk
Go eat the pad woon sen, best thing I’ve eaten in weeks.
Long-time favorite place :)
Served our multi-generational family of 6 delicious food at super speed on a Friday night with the most attentive & kind staff. Our party sampled the menu, having both sushi & Thai food. The vegetarian maki rolls were out of this world. The pad Thai delighted our pickiest family member. Everything was totally delicious. Highly recommend, perfect place to bring the kids & grandparents.
Highly recommended. Amazing food and staff
Kin Da's dishes are consistently delicious. Favorites: green curry, panang curry and drunken noodles. Just enough spice to snap to attention. Lunch specials are a great bargain. Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere is simple and clean. Lucky to have this in Takoma Park.
The Tom Yum soup was strange to us. No spice, no lemongrass, no ginger, so definitely very different to what we've had in Thailand.
The drunken noodles during lunch special was pretty good and at 10 bucks in 2024, given the portion size, can't fault it at all.
Food is always good when I go, no matter what I order. I'm an addict of their Tom Kha😋 I don't like getting sick, but having their Tom Kha is the lone bright side. They cook their proteins just right each time, including tofu. Rice is never overcooked. Nothing is greasy.
People are always friendly and it's a nice space with a good ambience. Enough room so that you are not on top of one another listening to your neighbor's conversation.
I enjoy dining in, although I mostly take it to go.
Had a lovely, quiet lunch with friendly staff and delicious, fresh food.
Maybe the best green curry I’ve ever had!
I had the Tofu and it was delicious. It was my first experience with Thai food and it was a very pleasant one. The bill was $10 and I was so full and satisfied when I finished it. I will visit again, for sure.
We love Kin Da! It’s a great neighborhood spot for a weekend lunch or takeout any night of the week (but Sunday is a favorite for us.) We’ve been coming for years, since our kids were young. They’re very accommodating with altering dishes, service is always friendly, and it’s just a great option to have in Takoma Park.
Food, like Panang curry, is sometimes good but sometimes misses the mark.
I've been getting takeout there for a few years, and eaten inside a couple times. The service is usually fast, and I have yet to find a bad dish. Their Thai dishes are authentic, and their sushi is surprisingly great! It's my favorite restaurant in this neighborhood, hands down.
Sushi is amazing!!!! I’ve ordered through the site and the woman running take out is great. 10/10
Kin da is my go to Thai place. Love their food - you can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu at this place. I’ve gone here with both my vegan and meat lover friends and they are always satisfied! That’s a win.
I have had problems with online ordering and Uber at kin da more than once but I think that’s more of an Uber issue.
Excellent cashew chicken and drunken noodles. Large portions, great taste, and perfect amount of spice (with a variety of options to tailor to your own needs). New favorite Thai place.
Always good food!!
And their prices are excellent!
Delicious.
Lovely people, great location, easily the worst sushi I have ever eaten.
Beware the “Thai Spice.” The sushi is pretty good.
Love the basil fried rice
Food was great, perfect location, and very nice staff!
Great food.
Went there since it opened
This is a friendly restaurant and has option of indoor or outdoor eating. The Thai menu is rather limited and bland, not very spicy or complex. Made for US palate's I guess.
Delicious food and good service. Also had a passion fruit bubble tea 🤩
They have a small lunch menu that is considered fairly affordable compared to all the inflated prices happening in many of favorite restaurants. I always order the noodles or curry. Pineapple fried rice is good too! Thai iced tea is yummy, but quite sweet.
I loved the crispy fish and the vegetable medley.
Love their take on Thai food and the proximity to the farmers market. The non-alcoholic beverages are delicious. Try the pomegranate lemonade and the pineapple mint!
I’m getting really annoyed. I order at least every week and I did my best to support that restaurant during COVID and everytime i receive my order I have no sticks and no soy sauce. This is getting ridiculous and expensive. Tonight is no exception ! Thanks you kinda !
You made a lawful customer reach a point of no return !
The food is good, and at first, I thought the customer service has always been very pleasant. However, I'd like to upgrade that to OUTSTANDING! I had an order delivered and they forgot something in the bag. We have ordered from them for a number of years now and it was actually the first time this happened with this restaurant, and I only noticed after the delivery person left. It was a little disappointing, so I figured I just cut my losses, and enjoy what they gave us. But, not long after, there was a knock on the door as they showed up to deliver the missing item! Who does that? Who has ever done that? Nobody but Kin Da does that, that's who! That's some gold-star amazing service right there!
Worst sushi I had in a long time.
Every time we visit DC we make a stop at Kin Da. The food is great, the staff is amazing and a cute fun neighborhood. Thanks
Everything was prepared with delicious detail - crispy cashew chicken had a refreshingly veggie-forward medley of green onions, bell peppers, and added broccoli. Everything was crunchy and so perfect texture-wise. I've never given the California Roll the time of day, but they use tuna instead of crab lies. Refreshing and satisfying. Good quality tuna. The red curry was smooth and spicy, and the brown rice was wild and beautiful. Spectacular dinner!
The Tom Ka Hai is the thing is miracles when I'm not feeling well. It's my go to comfort when I'm ill. So tasty, so soothing, so perfect!
Went here a while ago. It was a great experience. Good food and nice atmosphere.
We had items missing from our order and some of the food was too spicy to eat despite being marked 1 or 2 stars (out of 5). It was also very dry, the pad se ew had a lot of dry noodles stuck together. I like to support local restaurants and wish I could give a higher review but after waiting a long time for the food it was quite disappointing.
One of my favs!! The lunch special is incredible, staff and service is top notch, always look forward to Kin Da :)
Tasty Thai food with a very attentive service.
Truly amazing. We love this place.
Not the best to eat inside the restaurant, I was disappointed
Love this place. Plenty of in and outdoor seating. Friendly service. There website is super easy to order on. I'm really glad they are here in the community.
The food is always good and the individuals who work there are always kind!
It's solidly... okay. I've tried it three times, and it's not the place for me. The food is okay, not the most flavorful, sushi is okay too.
This is a nice an cozy Thai place with delicious food an the service was superb. Clean dining area an restroom make this place a winner. Check it out.
Recommend pad see ew with chicken try it during lunch it’s cheaper
These positive reviews are hard to believe given our experience tonight. Our order didn't taste or look like Thai food, but instead something a home cook might throw together. My pineapple fried rice included what looked like canned pineapples. It also had green beans, broccoli, and cabbage, none of which belong in that dish. My partner got pad thai noodles that came with brussel sprouts! Pretty ridiculous. The noodles also tasted like they included ketchup. This was all pretty disappointing. There are much better, authentic Thai places just up the road in Silver Spring.
Absolutely DELICIOUS Thai food. I tried the drunken noodles and green curry, but with tofu and veggies, and it’s probably the most flavorful I’ve had in the DMV, even as leftovers! Can’t wait to come back!
We love Kin Da and order delivery from here often. It's always super fast (under 30 minutes) when ordering directly from their site. The food is delicious, the dishes are big enough to have leftovers, and they offer a lot of customization options (spiciness level, protein, extra protein, etc).
This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Takoma Park! I come here regularly for lunch. I'm always welcomed by staff members and greeted with a warm smile. The food is fantastic - fresh and delicious! I've brought family members and they all have also enjoyed their meals. I'm really sad to be leaving Takoma Park, and will definitely come back when I'm in the area.
Had a fast, excellent lunch in the lovely seating area right outside. The lunch special tofu and vegetables was perfectly spicy and flavorful.
Kinda my favorite
im not sure how this has such a high rating. my food was flavorless. The pad thai was congealed and old. Maybe this is just a bad night for them but even so it’s unacceptable. The only saving grace were the spring rolls. They were good and the only part of my order i actually ate.
Excellent eating experience.
One of the solid, dependable, homestyle Thai places that anchors a neighborhood, Kin Da has great lunch specials, bubble tea, and even does sushi as well. Oh, and the appetizers shouldn't be overlooked, particularly the duck rolls and curry puffs.
Cute Thai restaurant. They're only doing take out but one can sit at tables outside and eat. Pad see ewe with beef was delicious and plenty to take home for another meal.
Great, quick, tasty lunch. Can't say it any better than that. Had a bit of trouble navigating their online ordering - but super great service overall.
I suspect that their evening service is just as good. Will update this review accordingly when I've had the chance!
Love this spot in Takoma Park. The panang the heck out of a curry I tell you hwhat. The fried fish is awesome. Went here recently and also 2 sushi rolls and some sticky mango rice. OH ALSO BUBBLE TEA! So good
Authentic Thai cuisine, with a fresh, well prepared taste. I ordered the Cashew Chicken with light pepper and it was delicious!! The reason I gave 4 stars was due to the duck roll appetizer, it was ok in terms of taste, nothing to rave about, but overall a good lunch spot. There is outside seating that's great for groups or an individual chill spot. I would recommend.
Love, love, love! I have lived here forever and Kin-da is one of my very favorite places.
The pad Tai is incredible, you can get it with sonny different things. Chicken, tofu, veggie to name a few. Sushi is amazing, especially shrimp Tempura. If your ever I. Takoma, coming here is a must
Great neighborhood sushi and Thai spot carry-out spot with lots of vegetarian options - vegetarian maki rolls and tofu and veggie Pad See Ew hit the spot! Carry-out only, no dining in!
The Veggie Maki was bursting with flavor and a garden medley of veggies - avocado, inari, kanpyo, seaweed, cucumber & ohba wrapped in soy bean sheet. The Sweet Potato Tempura roll was tasty and not greasy. It was nice that the rolls weren't overloaded with rice with a higher proportion of veggies. Hubby enjoyed the handmade cone-shaped temaki Double Salmon roll.
The peanut sauce was fantastic and paired really well with the sushi, def worth the $0.50 upcharge. I wish I had gotten another side of it! The spicy mayo def had a kick and a bit too much for me to handle!
The tofu and veggie Pad See Ew noodles was cooked al dente and a lot less greasier than most places. There was a heap of veggies - broccoli, carrots, squash, onions, asparagus that helped to round out the dish with fried tofu. The smaller portion was nice and could easily be conquered. It was a relief not to have leftovers!
Love the diverse menu and variety of dishes, will def come back when we're in the area. Worth the 1/2 hour drive from McLean!
Best pad thai I’ve had . That’s the review.
This place is one of my favorites in the neighborhood! They have great food, good prices, and they are so fast!!! When I order takeout, it’s usually ready in 15-20 minutes. I liked the inside atmosphere too pre-COVID and it’s nice that they have a few outside tables spaced out right now.
Delicious! Still just take out but the food is very good. I got the Red Curry with beef
I like them very much, the food I ordered was very good. I did not try the sushi yet. Will definitely order from them again.
Such a great place, we come here often and are never disappointed
Great food.
I went to have sushi with my friend to eat in, but they only had take away😥 I'll try another day. I really want to eat there.
I had eaten there before, food is delicious, but this time I got dropped off here at Takoma Park, and walked back to be Bethesda, MD.
Our favorite place to eat in Takoma Park, everything is good! A few months ago I started getting their bubble tea too and it’s the best I’ve ever had.
New to us this weekend. Best drunken noodles and pad thai we've had. Worth heading down the road to pick up. Looking forward to trying the sushi.
Verrrrrry Good!
Very friendly and decent sushi.
Always delicious!
Super fresh veggies, tasty curries, noodle dishes, and more. I think their thai food is their strength, over the sushi, but the sushi is decent. They have a well organized socially distant pick up
Unbelievably fast and tasty take out Tai food. Staff is always friendly and happy. Really helped our family stay positive through this pandemic. Thank you!
One of my favorite places in the city. The food is Ahmazing, and the staff are always very kind and helpful. Definitely get that crispy fish!
I come here often for takeout. Their sushi is great. My other personal favorite is the green curry. They tend to be busy so plan to wait a bit, but their staff is kind and communicative.
Absolutely my to-go place when in Takoma Park. They've been closed for inside dining during the pandemic, but their reputation is evident by the queue of customers always at their door for pick-up. The food has been consistently fresh and delicious. There's comfortable outdoor seating available.
Good people good food.
No experience on the inside, but my wife and I ordered takeout, and it was great. We both enjoyed the drunken noodle.
Great food! I highly recommend ordering from here.
Very welcoming. Treat customers very well
consistently delicious
My love for Thai food is unmeasurable. Their food was tasteful and portions are perfect. The local is cute, with few local shops and seating outside. I was fortunate to go on a sunny warm day lol. Can't wait for covid-19 to be over with, I'll def keep this on my top 5 in the area.
I am so happy to have found great pad thai close to home! Delicious beef and chicken pad thai for an excellent price and large portion. I especially enjoyed all of the Spice level options; choosing "less spicy" was just enough spice for me, but there are other options such as medium spice, thai spice etc. Placed my order online and the pickup process was extremely easy. Can't wait to return and explore the other items on the menu!
I didn't expect this place to be as good as it was. It's delicious! Highly recommend.
Such a great Thai place. Have had two excellent takeout orders here and plan to go back. Highly recommend the Panang curry and see ew noodles
Sushi 🍣
Disappointing. Sushi was really average despite deluxe... I could have picked up a sushi tray at the grocery store.
Can you say "yum-yum." The food here is awesome! The owners at this restaurant are also very pleasant. Their good rating is much deserved.
Always a good experience here!
For it's tasty food
Love Kin Da, great neighborhood place. Still only doing takeout. Their tofu is the BOMB.
I wanted to like this place because it's local in Tacoma Park. I ordered a cashew chicken dish with brown rice and some spring rolls. I tried to get temporary vegetables but though it was listed on the menu it was not available
The cashew chicken dish had very very few cashews, very few vegetables, and zero sauce. It was kind of a dry, breaded chicken dish. Very disappointing.
And I don't know if brown rice means something different in Thai restaurants but whatever concoction they came up with was not brown rice that I recognized. For me it was not edible.
Good food. If you are on a gluten free diet, you might find their menu a bit uninformative.
Ordered carryout. Tasty and there was someone waiting at the door to grab each order. There was plenty of parking nearby on a( Covid-19 traffic Thursday).
We have been ordering takeout from this place a few times since being stay-at-home. Wonderful food and service. Very easy pickup system. Sushi is fresh and the Thai offerings are also great. Love the curry puffs
Shout out to Kin Da who donated meals to us health workers! Boxes packed nicely & food is AMAZING!!
I love the food!!!
The prices are alright you can easily spend 50 dollars for two appetisers two main entrees and two drinks, give and take.
The delivery can take no less than 45 minutes even though I’m 3 minutes away drive.
The food is always tasty; although I feel that as of recent months I get less food or smaller portions when ordering for delivery. Today (April 21,2020) I ordered a soup with tofu and I literally got three pieces of tofu.
But overall is a great place I love their curry puffs, one of my favourite curry puffs from all the Thai places I order from. I really just love all their food. Wish they would give a bit more on their portions.
Food was fresh and flavorful!
Great food. Nice people watching view great lunch selections. Spotty service but excellent food and beverages. Reasonably priced
Eat in or take away and you’ll be smiling for 100 days thinking about your wonderful experience. The basil fried rice (ask for less spicy and it’s still hot! I like hot) makes you believe in miracles. Worth the trek from down the block or 100 miles away. Not to be missed!
Came in and it was take out only. That needs to be stated in the website. Poor customer service
Great pad thai
Great sushi! Prices are reasonable for Takoma Park. The wine selection is decent, including a few fancier options plus four or five varietals from their affordable house offerings, where most restaurants just offer a house red and house white. Easily accommodates vegetarian and gluten free diets. Table service is surprisingly quick even on a busy Saturday night with every table full.
