Best Thai tea in town...For our taste,Food lacked flavor, if you are looking for an authentic dish it was similar and has potential but it's not quite there . Pro tip- ask for fish sauce , chili peppers, and soy sauce and add to every dish. Potato's in my curry were totally bland . All flavors were a bit sweet or lacked salt.

Nothing special about the food. Ordered Green Curry but got a Red Curry instead. We digged in so just tried and was surprised that it was very good. The texture was a little sticky than watery. Had a really distinctive taste that I can't put my finger on but very tasty. Pad thai was a little too sweet for my taste but still good. Big, big shrimps for Pad Thai and very good.

What used to be amazingly great Thai food is now unfortunately somewhat mediocre. The dishes with noodles are broken into smaller pieces and some ingredients are missing compared to previous meals.

The service is cordial and they are certainly Thai.

The atmosphere is relaxed and casual.

This is not thailand, this is america, you guys need to learn customer service skills and stop forcing people to leave you tip, when the food did not like, i goto silver spring branch and they dont do this.

Best Thai food in town.

We went to this place for the first time. The food is nothing as compared to Amina thai in silver spring. Bland and looks white washed. All of the food is super white. I dont know maybe they were out of soy sauce or something. Then came the bill and the lady said I had no choice other than paying 15% tip. She didnt even let me touch the device and selected the 15% herself which was $8 according to my bill. I said let me select what tip I am adding and she said no, minimum tip 15% of bill. Beware all. They will tip you even if their food and service is bad. I should be the one deciding the tip. Anyways never going back again.

Our favorite Thai place. So far we have liked everything we’ve ever ordered.
Favorites include anything with the red curry, spicy eggplant, pineapple fried rice with chicken, and pad Thai with mixed vegetables.

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for many years, but unfortunately, their service has deteriorated significantly recently. The staff now seem more focused on pushing for tips than providing quality service. The owner was extremely rude and rushed us to finish our meal so they could seat more customers. Additionally, the portion sizes have been noticeably reduced. I was surprised when they pushed a 15% tip on a carryout order another day. Tips should be at the customer's discretion, not an expectation. It's disappointing to see how much the place has changed, and I won't be returning here again.

I had two types of chicken curry. Both with delicate and subtle distinctions. And they were very good. All Halal too.

This place isn't welcoming to black people. There's a difference in how I was treated vs how non black folks were. Let this be a warning.

the OG spot, have been going here for years with friends and family alike. Nice local owned mom and pop place. Good flavor friendly staff and service always. During Ramadan they give nice dates and specials as well & it is a a nice time always thank you very much JazakAllah khayr very good activities here

Wont bother to come back. The owner was very rude. I ordered beef ladna but the beef taste really bad. Didnt even get to finish the meal. When i payed my bill, the owner get angry at me because i only tipped $3. She yelled “this is America” to me and forced me to tip 15%.(She’s not even American). Very disappointing attitude. I moved here from Seattle where you can't throw a rock without hitting a phenomenal Thai place. Amina Thai has never served me bad food. But all of the dishes are fairly standard but nothing stand out about them. That said, it's also the best place I found in the area. I haven't tried everything on their menu yet, but I went through most of the noodle menu. They have a couple specials that I'll try next and see if I can give more stars for the food.

The coconut soup had no coconut flavor to it. All fish sauce. No vegetables unless you count cherry tomatoes. However, the curry was okay.

Amina Thai Restaurant was awesome! The food tasted really good, and I liked that it's halal. We tried the Kaprow and Panang Curry, and both were super tasty. The flavors were rich, and everything felt authentic. I had a great time enjoying their delicious dishes!

My family loves eating at Amina Thai as well as ordering their food to go. Their drunken noodles are some of the best in the DMV. We also like their pad Thai, masamun curry, Penang curry, and spring rolls.

Have been coming here for almost 10+ years!! The most amazing Thai food with a truly authentic and home-cooked flavor. The staff are all incredibly nice and accommodating. Everytime I have met Amina herself, she has always managed to sneak in a free dessert when I dine in or a Thai tea when I order delivery. She is an absolute sweetheart!!!! I highly recommend Amina Thai, you won’t regret it!

I've never eaten in but their food is very good! The portions are large and usually make 2-3 meals for us. Tip: order extra rice and I recommend adding extra veggies in a curry dish because there's so much soup!
Also try the Yum Nua app - it's very good, like a spicy steak salad.
They're good about allergies here but their Grubhub page doesn't allow order notes (if you see that option, you might be on the Colesville location) so I recommend using their direct website ordering for pickup.

I would proudly identify myself as a Thai food appreciater. I have been to many what restaurants and never experienced anything like this. I ordered takeout and when I opened my food it smelled horrific. I don’t know if something happened to it, maybe it was a one time occurrence but the smell made it inedible. Smelled like a mens locker room.

We ordered for take out and when we got home and opened our food it smelled like dirty man balls. No joke. Smelled very unhygienic. If you appreciate cleanliness don’t eat here.

The food iis always consistently great and the portions are very reasonable.

Great food even for someone like me that is not that open to try new food. But everything i tried here was good!

I was sadly disappointed with the quality of the food here. The flavor was okay but there was so much oil! The amount of oil that settled at the bottom of the container was alarming. The prices were decent and it is one of not the first Thai halal restaurant I have seen. So, I appreciate the representation. I would probably not order from here again because my perception of the food quality was poor. However, the ladies working were kind and the food was hot and ready when I arrived. They were also able to prepare my food quickly which I appreciated.

A very informal and a cozy eating place. Not the best Thai food we've tasted, especially the Tum Yum soup, which left a lot to be desired. The entree portions, however, were quite large and certainly worth a try. The highlight of this place were the staff, who were extremely helpful and courteous.

It pains me to say this but this place used to be pretty reliable but no longer. The tom kha soup I just had was awful. You can tell they skipped out on galangal. It tasted bland like watery coconut milk. The spicy tofu was watery and incredibly bland.

I ordered food for delivery. I picked “mild” from ratings of spice level - lower than “little spicy”. Should have been not spicy at all if the check box was less than “little spicy”. The food came COVERED in chili/cayenne/other ground peppers. Literally am screaming in pain from one tiny taste (thought the dots were another seasoning, not pepper). No matter what I’ve done mouth, lips and tongue have not stopped burning. HORRIBLE.

The samosas were so fresh! Overall really good food. I love that it’s halal too… makes me trust the food prep more.

Good food and great customer service at this family friendly restaurant! So happy to have a halal Thai option in the area. Liked pretty much everything we tried...the Tom yum could be better and real utensils instead of plastic would have been nice...other than that, the spice and flavors were on point. Kids loved the pad Thai and the beef drunken noodles were really good. We also tried the shrimp fried rice and beef kaprow which were very yummy as well. Will definitely be returning soon!

I told the waitress it was my first time. I went for dinner time while the restaurant only had 2 other dine in customers. The waitress left me multiple times to take care of new traffic into the restaurant instead of take my order. Even if the food is fantastic expect to be treated like your not important.

I ordered a chicken entree for takeout. Way too much oil, asked for medium spice and couldn't taste any spice at all, quite bland. Could not eat it because all you could taste on your mouth was the oil. So disappointing. Maybe in person is better as it has mostly good reviews, but I did not feel I got very good quality food.

Literally some of the best Thai I have had! The atmosphere was cozy, the service was excellent, and the food was phenomenal! I don't leave reviews all that much, but this place for sure needs more recognition! I am definitely coming again soon.

Disappointed. I went for the Drunken noodles. Unfortunately, It just lacked flavor. I think if they let the noodles stuck up more sauce it could be better. The chicken was good, a few more veggies would be good. Plus the dishes were for takeout when I ate in.

I got tofu pad-thai and chicken pad krapao. Me and my companion both though the pad krapao was great. It was flavor full and went well with the rice. Although my companion thought it should be spicier; I thought it was a fine leval of spice. Nether of us liked the pad-thai. We agreed that it was to sweet, and I think it had to much fish sauce. The service was good, and the food came fairly quick. This was my first time going, but the workers recognize their regulars. You could also tell that it was a family owned restaurant.

Food was really good, however I ordered beef Pad Lo Mein and got chicken, also asked it be "American", not spicy, however what i received so pretty dang spicy and they even gave me a little container of dried peppers.

The food was clearly fresh and well prepared, highly recommend and I will be back and maybe more assertive on spice level and protein selection.

Starting to become my go to Friday meal. The Beef Kaprow is my favorite (right now).Customer service is excellent and didn't have to wait long as my food was ready in a timely manner. Ill be looking forward to trying many more dishes that Amina Thai has to offer. If your in the rockville area I highly recommend you stop pass great food and great service.

Poor quality food.

My basil fried rice was a bit unusual. It had broccoli, whole cherry tomatoes a lemon all on the side. The rice itself was decent tasting but not blended well..

The best Thai food (and I have been to some really good ones across the country and this one now takes top spot). Hot and fresh and delicious. Also Halal. And very friendly and attentive staff. Thai iced tea is perfect blend of just right sweetness and cream.

I been coming here for a long time (many years). Not only there food is really good. The owners is really nice, easy to talk to and very polite. Just few years ago found out that my parents are very close friends with the owners.

I find this very extremely weird when most of Maryland restaurants are open to public indoor outdoor but I was not aware that most of the area surrounding DC or close DC are not open to public. This restaurant food was good not the best in my opinion but the services was so extremely terrible not just the server but also the owner of the restaurant I drove all the way from Baltimore Maryland to this restaurant for my 13th Wedding Anniversary there is no dining in so then we proceeded to place our orders and ate it in our vehicle driving back 🤦‍♂️ 😤 on top of that two orders out of five or wrong I specifically asked for chicken noodles for my son and she gives me chicken rice but while I was there i nicely asked just like any other customer why aren’t you guys open yet to the public the owner then proceeded to talk very unprofessionally and has the rude and literally in front of my she has audacity to talk to me like she is the customer like I asked her why aren’t you guys open yet and she’s like “I don’t feel like opening you have a problem”, I’m like wow first time to this place in the last time I would come to this place I would rather give my business to Indo Chinese in Silver Spring most families I know surrounding this restaurant will never go there again this restaurant can bet on it as well as stay warm with their PPP/SBA LOANS. Trust me if I was a food critic this place go down.
