Absolutely delicious!

Diner Review №6

Great little spot near the college to grab really good thai.

Diner Review №7

We usually order here because the food is tasty. It's a small place and the people are super friendly. The only issue I have is the asking for tips over the phone.

I recently put in an order over the phone. Approximately $60 worth of food. After I gave my CC info the lady on the phone asks if I wanted to tip the person who puts my food in the bag. Seriously?!?! We're now having to tip people who put our food into the bag?

Our tipping culture has gotten way out of hand. I understand that they're a small shop but this is getting ridiculous. Are we going to start having to tip fast food workers to put our food in the bags when we order food to go?

Yes.. the food is tasty and parking can be an issue but stop with the money grabbing for tips. Also, since the pandemic their prices have raised quite a bit so be aware.

Diner Review №8

The mango sticky rice was amazing. The mango was rice and delicious. The lady at the front was very attentive and kind. Would definitely come back again!

Diner Review №9

ordered takeout for pad woon sen via phone yesterday, tasted amazing, lady at the counter was very kind. will be returning! :)

Diner Review №12

I paid $4 extra for shrimp but only received 3 shrimp. The chicken was dry. I have frequented this place several times but never again. All it takes is one time and poor oversight to lose a customer. I used to love this place.

Diner Review №13

I decided to stop by near closing time. You could tell that they were in a rush and wanted me out of there. Ever before I had a chance to review the menu the cashier hurriedly ask me to order. Picking the first thing I saw, I placed my order ( Thai Curry). Bad service I can deal with but bad food is the reason for this review. The food left me wanting…..a refund!

Diner Review №14

Gentleman was very nice and welcoming. Food was made without a long wait. I ordered the massaman curry with shrimp and mango juice. Absolutely yummy

Diner Review №15

My first time. Ordered from their menu online and followed the pictures posted to verify what it looked like. When I brought the order home, I was amazed at how poor the Pad Garlic and Pepper with chicken looked and tasted. Chicken was dry, no peppers and no light brown sauce was in the dish as the picture suggested. Who in their right mind would ever order a dish like this?? When I called and discussed my discontentment, the manager offered no solution or apology. People make mistakes but customer service on how to resolve matters and keep a customer means a lot to me. They lost my business…wont return there!

Diner Review №16

I always get Pad See Ew and it is always so delicious. Sometimes I have it multiple days in a row. Service is also very quick!

Diner Review №17

Pretty good spot limited seating and service but enjoyed my meal thoroughly!

Diner Review №18

Solid fast lunch! The Thai food was pretty standard— wish there was more spice, but overall, it was a good meal.

Diner Review №19

The worst thai food that I've ever had. Super dry and had ingredients in it that were not listed on the menu. The service was good and fast, but the food was not good.

Diner Review №20

tofu pad thai (top) tofu drunken noodles (bottom). ended up a little pricey for me (bit less than 15 for each) but the food itself was phenomenal. looks great, tastes great, definitely worth going there in person to get it fresh.

Diner Review №21

Diner Review №22

Probably the worse service experienced ever..... If you are in a group and plan to have lunch in a restaurant, this is NOT the place for you! PLEASE NOTE that these folks have no service available at all even though they pretend have one (with seating arrangements etc.). It does say "self service", one has to order in the counter. We ordered, paid (including anticipated tips for service). There were 3 of us... our food was served in takeout containers and when we asked for plates to share the food, they refused because they had none! There's no way one can sit and share food
They DID NOT explain their inability to provide service before ordering. Feels like plain cheating.

Diner Review №23

My favorite place in Maryland for Drunken Noodle 🔥🔥🔥

Diner Review №24

I received Spicy Thai basil shrimp initially it was good , then I got a closer look and saw bugs in my food …. Absolutely unacceptable

Diner Review №25

First Thai restaurant that I have enjoyed since moving to Maryland for 7years. Every meal we ordered was delicious!!! Will definitely be back!!

Diner Review №26

Diner Review №27

I ordered the shrimp drunken noodles medium spicy flavor. It was really good. Had just the right amount of kick for me. As an appetizer, I had the eggs rolls. The mini egg rolls were served hot with like a duck sauce. Needless to say, I left there pretty full. This establishment is right next door to Insomnia Cookies.

Diner Review №28

This is the worst restaurant I had ever seen. The food is really bad , taste is not at all good. They won’t let customers to use the Restrooms and very bad behavior with customers.Service is really very Bad

Diner Review №29

Very bad service

Diner Review №30

Diner Review №31

The food is of very small portion and is extremely salty. It’s served in plastic take-away boxes even we chose to dine in. No service at all and no water to provide. Yet, the option for service fee starts from 15%. Will never go again.

Diner Review №32

The server was very polite.and very helpful on doing this job Great place to eat.

Diner Review №33

Diner Review №34

Very tasty. Fried rice and pork with basil were great.

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

The best Thai food in the Washington Metropolitan area!

Diner Review №38

I have ordered Togo from here twice. Both times have been on point. The gentleman cashier is very friendly and nice. I will continue to order from here. I look forward to trying more of their dishes.

Diner Review №39

Fast service and quality food with a big menu. Eggplant was marked as 2 spice level but it was more of a 1 in my opinion. Still good.

Diner Review №40

So delicious but please MORE SAUCE!!! The dishes are savory and wonderful, and sauce could compensate for somewhat consistently dry rice. Please :)
Favorite orders for meat eaters include chicken satay and chicken cashew, for veg all the curries and the eggplant.

Diner Review №41

Ordered two noodle dishes and three orders of the spring rolls ended up paying $71 the food was ok but nothing exceptional.

Diner Review №42

If you want homemade style Thai food, this is the place. Small kitchen with amazing traditional dishes made to perfection. I’ve been coming here for 10 years and they continue to keep their distinctive taste and quality.

Diner Review №43

Beef drunken noodles and chicken pas ka pow are our go-to staples. The food is consistently delicious and we love ordering from here. I especially like when we need to change the spice-level on occasion and the heat is toned down but the flavor is still there!

Diner Review №44

Diner Review №47

Amazing food, but they gave us plastic utensils and put the food in plastic containers (for dine-in)!

don't get their veggie dumplings

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

Nice pad thai and pad see eew. Enjoyed my food from here. Fast service too.

Diner Review №54

Diner Review №55

Food was ok but could be better.

Diner Review №56

Diner Review №57

Food is mediocre & insufficient in quantity, definitely way overpriced; service is terribly indifferent and rude; subpar tableware (if you dine in they still give you cheap takeout forks & bowls); they don't even offer free water. There are so many restaurants in College Park that are better than this. Would not recommend.

Diner Review №58

This place is delicious! Pad thai and mango sticky rice are awesome. It's a small and very busy place. No dine-in service.

Diner Review №59

Mediocre flavor with half size proportion. Their "large" soup comes in the small container. But it won't let me upload the pic.

Diner Review №60

This is our go-to thai place in the neighborhood. It is not the best thai food you will ever find, but very solid and always hits the spot. Flavorful and consistent.

Diner Review №61

Okay if you have an extra knife to cut the overly large vegetables. Maybe excellent if you like girthy carrots and potatoes .

Diner Review №62

This is one of my favorite authentic Thai food restaurant . The best !

Diner Review №63

Best takeout around! My favorite dish is the red curry tofu.

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

Good food but takeout only (dine-in is frowned upon & they'll make an effort to convey that sentiment too 👎)

We were visiting someone at UMD & decided to take him out for some Thai so came here. The spot looked decent from outside so we parked & went inside but were told that it's "self-service" only and they pack orders as takeout only (i.e. takeout containers, etc). We didn't mind it so proceeded with our orders, etc. Unfortunately, we had a child with us and once food came out, we requested paper plates (assuming that was normal) but were told they didn't have them (obviously, this was after I'd already paid/tipped 😔). In any case, we had to use the lids of our containers which was not fun with our kid. This may have been one of those few Thai restaurant visits where i was dismayed by the demeanor of their main staffer (i usually don't mind small issues if food is good but, yeah, the demeanor was a deal breaker in this case so we cannot recommend this place on account of it). In conclusion, good food but it's not worth the experience (especially eat-in) and don't be surprised if you don't get any plates for takeout either.

PS: My wife tried to see if lady at counter could offer only one paper plate for our kid to make it easy for us but she stated it's gonna be $2 (so i guess they have plates then??).

Diner Review №67

I was craving for Pad Thai with Shrimp, and Aroy Thai just go exceed my expectation!

The Pad Thai sauce is tasty and I think the portion is quite generous!

Food is in togo Box but the dine in seating is still open. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. I will be back to try another dish on the menu.

Diner Review №68

I ordered thru Uber Eats and first time ordering. I ordered Pineapple Fried Rice and added shrimp for an upcharge. They literally added only 2 shrimp. The food isn't bad but that was kinda lousy.

Diner Review №69

It was ok not the best Thai I ever had I would try again to see if it was just a off night

Diner Review №70

Diner Review №71

It’s very terrible and flavorless.
The worst Thai restaurant.

Diner Review №72

Diner Review №73

The Tom Kha and drunken noodles were delicious. Friendly staff. Great food!

Diner Review №74

I had the basil fried rice with pork. It was very flavorful and definitely worth the treat. It’s a quaint place in my the university.

Diner Review №75

Affordable, generous portions and great Thai flavor - the food stands up to its name, aroy! Friendly and prompt service. This is a great spot!

Diner Review №76

Diner Review №77

I ordered Pad Thai w chicken and Green Curry w chicken!! They were both so very good and I was happy after having my first bite (bc of the knowledge that I found myself a great Thai restaurant in CP)!!!

Diner Review №78

Diner Review №79

food is slamming, on time, and so much food. gas af.

Diner Review №80

This is probably the best pad thai I've ever had so far. 5 stars for the pad thai, can't speak for anything else. I wish the place was bigger and had indoor seating.

Diner Review №81

We ordered the basil fried rice, Thai fried rice, wonton, and chicken satay. The chicken satay was dry, without the sauce it comes with it seriously lacked flavor. My Thai fried rice was really bland. My boyfriend's basil fried rice was probably the only saving grace.
I also specifically asked for cutlery and hot pepper on the side (it was a delivery order). Didn't receive either.

Diner Review №82

Poor attitude, no welcoming sense, no thank you. Felt, owner did a favor.
Food quality below average.

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Haven't experienced dine-in yet, but every time we order delivery from them I LOVE IT. My favorite is the panang curry and my husband always orders the beef pad Thai. They are both of amazing quality and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the mango sticky rice dessert. Just the perfect ending note!

Diner Review №85

Great chicken pad thai

Diner Review №86

I had the green curry, red curry, and drunken noodles. All were delicious!

Diner Review №87

I came to this place every so often pre-COVID. This was my first time back and their Pad Thai—while good before—got MUCH better. Definitely a DMV favorite and better than other Pad Thai I've had in DC / MD.

Diner Review №88

只給四星,因為他們取消了海南雞飯。說真的,海南雞飯非常好吃,可以加回菜單嗎?

Diner Review №89

We love this place. Great gluten-free res options. Consistently amazing. Quick and great take-out. We regularly get the Panang chicken, and their sauce is amazing. Their rice is consistently good. It’s a great place to stop on the way home from work!

Diner Review №90

Diner Review №91

Good food, not great food. Everyone likes something different. For me I love spicy pad thai with a lot of limey acidity. I'm sure if I requested they would have gotten it for me. Everything was done right and cooked well. The flavor profile didn't fit me, personally.

Diner Review №92

No, no, no...not what I ordered: ordering Tom Kha/shrimp; got chicken [Tom Yum] and ONE lone shrimp tail in broth. Food was off

Diner Review №93

Best place for Thai food hands down. I haven’t had better - even in DC. I travel to College Park just for this delicious Thai! And staff have always been really nice.

Diner Review №94

I got red curry, it was not spicy at all and overly sweet:/ It was super filling though!

Diner Review №95

The people who are rating this obviously haven’t had great authentic Thai food. I decided to place an order on DoorDash for the Drunken noodles. Where were my flavors? I could Taste a hint of chili, but that was it. There were no flavors of garlic, basil or anything else. My chicken was bland and wild rice noodles are supposed to be sticky but not to the point that they cannot be picked up with chopsticks or a fork. This was horrible and I will not be revisiting. Try Royal Thai instead.

Diner Review №96

Best place for Thai food.

My default is Pad thai + Green curry with side of spring rolls. Crazzyyy good.

Diner Review №97

First time ordering from here. I usually do Tara Thai but I think over found my new spot. Placed an order through “DoorDash”. Ordered Thai Chicken fried rice and Shrimp Bikini. The rice is amazing. I did ask to add pork, however the rice is bomb and my four year old has demolished her bowl!

Diner Review №98

I could eat the drunken noodles and mango sticky rice every day.

Diner Review №99

Diner Review №100

Diner Review №101

Yamiii food 🍲

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №103

Diner Review №104

Expensive and not to the best.
Only fried rice was okay for me

Diner Review №105

Diner Review №106

Do not offer lunch specials anymore. I gave my order verbally twice and woman at cashier assured me she heard me the first time. One entree was not added to the bag/receipt and I didn’t realize until I got to a business lunch and someone did not have their meal. So so disappointed.

Diner Review №107

Phenomenal food. Not much to say except the food is not extremely expensive but is very high quality and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I eat a lot as well and worry about portion size but their meals are unusually filling and they definitely give you enough.

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

I love Doordashing for these guys, they always have the food ready for me when I get there.

Diner Review №110

Diner Review №111

Fantastic food

Diner Review №112

Horrible garden rolls. Vegetables were old and brown.

Diner Review №113

The food was $14 and was an okay portion, I’d added mushrooms and broccoli which could’ve been the extra charge to my pad Thai. There were no bean sprouts, tofu was plentiful which is why I’m giving it 2 stars. I’d asked for spicy and from my experience with other Thai restaurant the food has such amazing flavor and spice level and I can handle spicy. I don’t like coming home and having to alter my food. Personally I’ve had better and won’t cheat on my go to restaurant (Siriwan Thai) ever again. I feel like I wasted $14.

Diner Review №114

Aroy Thai has great food, and a tiny dining room. I have been carrying out because as one of the restaurants I like I want to do my small part to support them. It looks like they do a pretty good takeout business.

Diner Review №115

I ordered panang curry, which is supposed to have crushed peanut and red bell pepper (as written in the menu) but there was none of these. I also asked for vegetarian option but I got tofu. I will not eat from here again.

Diner Review №116

The food isn't bad in terms of quality, but they use too much sugar in their curries.

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

Love Thai food but too bad there isn't too many decent spots in the area. Glad I gave this one a try. Tom Kha soup flavors were on point, chicken satay was juicy and not dried out like some of the other experiences elsewhere drunken noodle was great but needed just a little more salt and the panang curry was everything I needed. Even though they say it's already spicy, if you love spicy then tell them extra. Will definitely come back and I am glad I gave it a go. Great job!

P.S. Follow me @a_head_in_food on Instagram to see some of the best food from all over and also straight out the kitchen.

Diner Review №119

This Thai place is great. If you like very spicey, ask them to make you dish "Thai" hot, you wont regret. Excellent food, great service, friendly staff

Diner Review №120

Place should be condemned, terrible food, made Ill order at your own risk many better options in the immediate area

Diner Review №121

Absolutely recommended!
Very friendly & amazingly rapid service! It almost doesn't seem possible that one could've even put all the ingredients into a pan & heated it up from the time I placed the order & when it was ready.
I ordered green curry. I requested extra spicy but I'm pretty sure that was ignored. The eggplant was obviously basically pre-cooked (observation NOT criticism).
I do wish that the eggplant had been salted before it was cooked — not because it was bitter but because it was bland. The dish as a whole needed salt IMO.
Traditionally fish sauce is generally added to green curry, but since I ordered tofu I believe they skipped the fish sauce (as any vegetarian would expect & demand). But it seems they didn't compensate for the salt.
Typically when I ask for extra spicy they add more green curry paste which is quite salty.
Food trends to be much saltier in Thailand and I'd say is better to make food with less salt than more, it can easily be added to taste!
Unfortunately, I didn't ask for any and I was on the go & didn't have any in my car.
This really wasn't a big deal; I will definitely order from Aroy again!

Carry-out only due to pandemic. It's a tiny spot anyway!
Everyone was masked up.

Diner Review №122

Good location, great ambiance, and friendly staff but the food is a bit bland. The flavors, while generally good, were muted and even their spiciest dish barely registers as hot.

Diner Review №123

Diner Review №124

Diner Review №125

it was just ok lol.. didnt fill up my thai tea and the chicken in my curry was overcooked and dry. mango and sticky rice was bomb though.

Diner Review №126

One of the best Thai spots in the DMV, not just PG county. Aroy Thai can compete with any of the top Thai places in Montgomery County as well. I've been coming here for the past 2 years and I recommend the pad see eaw, spring rolls and pineapple fried rice. Consistent deliciousness and great service as well. You can't go wrong with this place.

Diner Review №127

Been looking for some good drunken noodles in the area, read the reviews tried via grub hub and was disappointed. Noodles over cooked and dry, even with the supposed "sauce" . Not well made at all.

Diner Review №128

Every time I come here there is an issue with my order!!!!!!! The lady is rude and always gives me a hard time! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Diner Review №129

Diner Review №130

My favorite take out in college park! I love the vegatrian pad thai. Service is friendly and orders are always ready asap.

Diner Review №131

Items on the website not available at restaurant.

Diner Review №132

Average taste with good quantity. Tried their spicy basil fried rice- it lacked flavour. Shrimp bikini was tasteless.
Its a college town restaurant which gives good quantity for reasonable prices but taste is average.

Diner Review №133

Diner Review №134

Our carry out order was accurate and tasted great!

Diner Review №135

Diner Review №136

One of the best drunken noodles I ever had!

Diner Review №137

The cashier woman is super rude.

Diner Review №138

Diner Review №139

My husband and I recently ordered from Aroy Thai restaurant in College Park Maryland and I wanted to really like the food from this place. The pros; The Grubhub delivery driver delivered our food in a reasonable timeframe and was very cheery/pleasant. My husband selected the Pad Thai and Spring Roll while my mood to be experimental indirectly influenced me to chose the Drunken Noodle dish with seafood and Shrimp Bikini. The sauce for the shrimp bikini, the shrimp bikini, and the spring rolls tasted good. However, my husband admitted to me that he found the Pad Thai to just taste ok and he is usually less picky about food than I am. The sauce and the noodles tasted fine for the Drunken Noodle dish that I selected and the shrimp that came along with it, however the other seafood that came with it that I consumed tasted just ok, maybe it was just the dishes we selected though I really wanted to like the food from here more.

Diner Review №140

Ordered delivery through Door Dash. I got the pineapple fried rice, and my boyfriend got the panang curry. Both were absolutely delicious with good sized portions. We'll definitely be ordering again.

Diner Review №141

Diner Review №142

Diner Review №143

Diner Review №144

This place is okay. Tiny dining room. Could benefit from an automatic door closer, if not an airlock. Food was okay, drunken noodles good. I thought the Pad Thai had an off taste, but this could just be personal preference. Service was good, prices moderate. Worth a try.

Diner Review №145

Diner Review №146

Diner Review №147

They served me really good tasting food. I had to customize my order (by removing the fish sauce and substitute the meats with tofu, and get the non dairy Thai coffee) and get the vegan food I needed and I got it. But it needs to be a default option on the menu like poultry and meat sections. Please help vegans, by putting default vegan menu options.

Diner Review №148

Diner Review №149

Well, a nice Thai food with authentic spices and flavor. Why 3 then? This what we do when we are met by a very unprofessional waitress who demands customers close the door upon entering & leaving. The older waitress was great with grin & courtesy!

Diner Review №150

Having lived in Thailand I can say this is authentic taste, aroy indeed. They have dishes not often found like caw man gai, and sticky rice to go with satay or papaya salad.

Diner Review №151

Diner Review №152

Delicious food, excellent service (friendly, effective, attentive), clean, inviting. Couldn't ask for more.

Diner Review №160

The food is delicious, and the staff is very nice. I was given the wrong food, but they were nice enough to exchange it for what I wanted. It's very small place, so it can be difficult to get a table during lunch time. I think it's best to call in advance. Showing up early is also a good idea.
