The past 2 times I have been here the service SUCKS.
1st time i placed my order to dine in. We asked for medium spiced lo mein and we had NO SPICE at all. The cashier said "I didn't hear you say that".. When asked if we were still getting our dumplings he also didn't hear that either.. he wasn't paying attention.
Went back yesterday, paid for my food to-go. I went outside to take a call just to come in to the cashier saying LOUDLY " Ms. You didn't pay AT ALL.." I was confused and showed him that it had been taken out my account. I get a "oh my bad".. like?
The food will be good for the most part.. but the service needs HELP. 0 STARS for them.
I ordered basil fried rice with tofu and they gave me a tofu stir fry. When I was there the card reader wasn’t working and they acted like I was incompetent (when their screen was clearly broken) so I just ended up paying cash - which they were also rude about. After all that I got the wrong order - and it’s so bland and has no spice at all, not worth $15. Big disappointment, wouldn’t recommend.
Scam business.
Their near-sighted greed just cost them long term business and a one star review.
I accidentally placed an order with them.
I called to cancel within 5 min of placing my order and they refused to give me a refund.
They said they had already cooked my entire order in less than 5 minutes!
Come on. Just do the right thing.
Pretty good. Cheaper than Bangkok Garden, with about the same portion size but less meat. The taste with Thai Kitchen is better though. The pad thai actually tasted like pad thai.
The reason I give this one a 3 stars instead of 4 is because our order wasn't ready on time. We ordered through Doordash instead of their website, and I guess they don't check that source as often or something? The order was supposed to be done 5:58pm, we got there at 6pm but the order wasn't there. The lady did some checking and finally found the order about 5 minutes in. Told us it would be about 30 minutes. We went off to do some errands, came back, and the order was ready.
Will go again if in the craving for cheap Thai food, and will make sure to use the store's website.
Came here a few days ago and ordered a pad thai, which was great, unfortunately, the other items such as the pineapple fried rice and the steamed thai dumpling that my group ordered were just ok. Service was great and friendly and atmosphere was appealing for a quick bite.
A few problems with this place, to begin with they shouldn’t call it Thai because it was anything but Thai. The word Kitchen doesn’t apply at all. The Food looked really sad, bad prepared and didn’t taste good at all.
My wife and I had our first date here. Love this place.

Always enjoy the food at a local spot.

Best panang curry in the area. Sauce could be a little thicker for my liking, but it isn't thinner than other places. Hubby really likes the peanut Rama, great portion of veggies.
order here for lunch all the time and the food is delicious. have not tried it in the restaurant
I paid extra for shrimp Pad Thai and ended up getting four pieces of shrimp. They also used way too much fish sauce so it ended up overpowering the entire dish.
Went for the first time for lunch. When we got there, the cashier had his half eaten lunch right next to the order counter. Food came out quickly and had good flavor, but the staff’s lack of hygienic behavior was a big turn off. People were eating in the kitchen and the front of the house and touching their mouthes and noses in the kitchen-no gloves. The worst part was that someone emerged from the kitchen, walking to the front of the restaurant BRUSHING THEIR TEETH!
When they realized that I had seen them, they turned back and went into the kitchen again. This is not something that I would ever want to see again in a restaurant kitchen. Despite the food being good, I will not be back due to this lack of common sense, professionalism, and cleanliness.
One of the worker who serves at front has rude behavior
great masaman curry!!
Food is not good and for the price I will not return . Service is not good at all . Do not shop there
Be careful the staff is very rude I felt attacked ordering my food. This is a fast food style place and the quantity sizes are a small for the price. It didn’t taste fresh at all.
The Basil Fried Rice added Shrimp is delicious 😋. #Tasty #Spicy
Its not good, prices are different from menu and at checkout. Its fast food type of restaurant its not real good. Their menus have crossed out prices better to make new menus.
nice staff
Poor customer service. Hair in my food
Delicious food all the time, but rude staff. Also they charge for water and a $10 minimum to use a credit card.
Avoid The Thai Kitchen on Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. I was a customer for many years until yesterday. Always ordered our usuals and enjoyed the food at home or on site. The staff at the register was nice and efficient.
Then I couldn’t reached it by phone. I double checked their number on the website, tried with their alternative phone number (yes, I did have their phone number in my address book. That’s how often we ordered there). To no avail.
I wasn’t far and decided to drive to Bethesda. I ordered 2x our favorite (Panang with shrimp) and one extra rice after telling the new lady at the register about the problem with their phone. She had some issue understanding me, not only about the phone but also with the order. I had to repeat at least two time my order. Then I paid, waited a few minutes, got my food and drove home.
When I arrived, I discovered that we had the wrong food. Instead of the nice curry with rice, I got a bowl of dry noodle with some peanuts, a bit of omelet and greens. Only the shrimps were right.
This time I could reach someone on the phone: a man who spoke fluent English and understood every little bit of what I was saying answered. To make it short: he didn’t apologize for the mistake, he didn’t offer a replacement, credit or refund and he told me that it was my fault because I didn’t check what I paid for.
I didn’t check, yes that’s correct. But, it is also right that the Bethesda Thai Kitchen on Wisconsin Avenue has a terrible customer service. I won’t set a foot there ever again.
The food is good that’s not a problem, the problem is the nasty lady @ the register. I was on my break and I wanted to eat there and she told me I couldn’t do that and lectured me about how the to go plates are expensive and blah blah blah. I said fine, mine you that I just paid 28$ for a meal super pricy but ok. I was willing to pay extra money to eat inside because it was rainy and she said you have to make sure you communicate to us your going to eat in. I’m scratching my head and asking myself is this America? She said she didn’t want to clean after me I was like wow I’m never coming back here ever again. I should’ve stick with Don pollo next door they never treated me like this. SMH!!! P.S they barely fill there sweet and sour cup and have the audacity to charge a 1$ for them.
They forgot 2 dishes in my takeout.
When I picked up, I even asked if everything was in the bag since a couple of items were not checked off on the receipt ticket. The lady gave a firm yes.
After I picked up and sat in my hotel room, I realized 2 times were missing and when I called back, they were rude.
Pad Thai- wasn’t great.
An order of Spring rolls - only had 2 rolls.
one of the only places in bethesda where you can spend <$15 and not leave hungry. it's also one of the only places around here where the food isn't white washed to be bland and inoffensive.
i usually pick up from here, but dining in is a pleasant experience as well. i went here for lunch with my partner and shared a single order of pad thai, which is very reasonably priced for the location and portions you're getting. the employees were very friendly and the service was lightning fast. we left satisfied, though not totally stuffed since we shared. it was a very nice lunch.
Delicious Thai food at reasonable prices. My go to Thai place here in Bethesda.
Owner super nice but employees so rude
Nice place
Fried rice and tofu was tasteless
Delicious. Order was ready when promised and the food was fantastic
Consistently excellent! We live in DC's Chinatown and frequently drive up to Bethesda to eat here. Definitely shines on dine in. Reasonable prices for the area. Noodles dishes are flavorfully with a good sauce-to-noodle ratio. Massamun curry is the star -- their curry is so thick and great balance of spice. Want Thai in Bethesda? Check this place out!
Top notch each and every time. Staff is always kind and the massamun curry is always excellent.
Love this place. The staff is great and the food is excellent. Ask for it spicy and you be disappointed.
Ordered the Pad Thai, soup and spring rolls. Only gold thing was the spring rolls. Soup had no flavor, which was better than the Pad Thai that tasted awful. Will not be buying here again.
Came today for lunch
Won’t find that good of quality for that good of price anywhere in Bethesda, and owner was friendly
We felt the soup and the dishes had way too much sugar. It was hard to eat.
Also the tofu in the pad Thai was too dry to eat. The food had nice vegetables and spices, but overall we were dissatisfied.
Such a poor customer service , they have such a rude cashier , she thinks that she is a god!
wonderful food and the kindest staff. highly recommended!
IVE CALLED THIS PLACE 10X AT ITS 12:26 NOON AND NOBODY IS ANSWERING THE PHONE, NOT GOOD. GUESS I'LL SPEND MY $$$$$ ELSEWHERE SINCE NOBODY WANTS TO ANSWER THE PHONE
This was my family’s first time at this restaurant. The Staff was very friendly. They took time to go through the menu and made recommendations. The food was delicious! Will definitely come back if we’re in the area
Best thai place i have been to in a while, but prices went up and portions got smaller. They also stopped giving out free water. Wont be back.
Best Pad See-Ew I have eaten! Cannot wait to try their other food.
Friendly staff and delicious food. Spicy is actually spicy!
They’re very slow at the kitchen expect to wait longer than 45 minutes before you get there.
Pad see ew is sooo good (also my go to rec for everyone)! As are the drunken noodles, both of which we order almost weekly. Order from their website, it’s faster. Also the spicy scales are always so different from place to place. Less Spicy is a true mild. Medium Spicy is 👌🏼 just enough to give you a slight sweat and help clear out the sinuses 💯 We haven’t tried Spicy, but I imagine it’s more than I could handle.
My husband got food poisoning from this restaurant and when I told them the next day, the restaurant’s nonchalant reaction was, “Oh, OK, come to us with a doctor’s note.” WTAF?!?! They must be so used to people getting food poisoning at their establishment that they are so unfazed and refer to their system for “insurance claims” right away. Wow!
I really enjoy the larb gai here and my teenager lives their pad Thai. If you are sensitive to chili's you should ask for it mild because sometimes it packs a wallop and I love things pretty hot.
BEWARE!!! This review has nothing to do with the food (I had the Penang curry and it is great). On February 26 round 6 pm, I presented my card for purchase. The young woman held on to my card for an extended period of time making a fuss over the register as if there was an error. As I waited, I inquired to my sister (whom I was speaking with via earphones) why the young woman had not given my card back yet as she dealt with the register. Finally, card returned, I signed for my meal and left. The following day, by 4:00 pm, I had over $350 in fraudulent purchases on my credit card. Luckily, my bank caught all of these purchases and all is well on my end. However, the Thai Kitchen was the only establishment where I had relinquished my card to someone for payment and, notably, that person held onto it for an extended period of time (under the circumstances). Since the fraud, I have attempted to speak with the manager or owner about the incident, both in-person and over the phone, and have been given the run around. If there is a security breach I wanted the business to know. I left my business card as well. But, I was met with resistance: No one will speak with me. I have been told that the manager's name is "Manager" and that the workers are unable to release his name.
Great food, and it's always ready and waiting which makes me feel better minimizing contact. Also love the option to adjust the spiciness of every item you get. Overall great place highly recommend.
Take out at this restaurant ALWAYS takes forever
One of the slowest restaurant ever in town
Waited 1 hrs for one item
Lots of people cancle order and went back
Need to improve a lot ..worse experience
Pretty good. Cheaper than Bangkok Garden, with about the same portion size but less meat. The taste with Thai Kitchen is better though. The pad thai actually tasted like pad thai.

I went to pick up food for a customer. I noticed that one of the cooks in back didn't have his mask over his face. I brought it to the manager attention and she tried to over look it while I was talking to her. Be mindful to all who order food from this restaurant. When place an order over the phone. Please ask them are the staff and cooks practicing the Cdc guidelines?
Very bad service waited 40 min to pick up order
Worst over the phone customer service ever!!! If I could give it zero stars I would! We needed to cancel our order because we weren’t going to make it there. They said that they could not give us a refund because they had already made the food which is unacceptable we were not going to make it there to eat our food and could not get a refund! Not to mention after we told her the situation she said sorry it’s the policy and hung up the phone and will not pick up again! I’m sure the food is great but they have terrible customer service! Never coming here again!
Ordered for carry out. They said 1/2 hour. Took over an hour, to get the food though. Others were waiting a long time too. Idk if this is typical or not for this business. Overall the food was fine, but not fantastic. I think I would try a different place e next time.
Ordered panang curry delivery. It was supposed to have cabbage, basil, and bamboo shoots. It had three tiny strips of cabbage, two strips of basil, no bamboo. All together the veggies were less than a bite full. The panang also tastes weird. I couldn't eat it. Won't be ordering from here again.
Wonderful
From time to time the waits are pretty long. However, even when I think I waited a long time for my food, once I do start eating it always feels worth the wait.
Great food. Small. A little slow. But great food.
Messed up my order and I took it straight home and was so excited to eat my Pad See ew and then took out to find pad Thai! I live far away so didn’t feel like driving a half hour back to correct it. Also the pot stickers are the tiniest pot stickers I’ve ever seen.
This place is way too busy on a Saturday
Food is way too spicy to point of being inedible. I like spicy food and frequently order Thai, Chinese, Indian, etc. Noodle dish here was just unpleasant and flavors were overwhelmed by the heat. Had takeout from 4-5 Thai restaurants in area that was still spicy but at least edible and enjoyable.
I ordered the Drunken Noodles medium spicy (on a scale of not spicy, medium spicy, and spicy) and the dish was practically inedible; my mouth was on fire in an unpleasant way. Normally, I am a big fan of spicy foods (Thai, Korean, Indian), but this was too much. I also had several of my housemates try the dish as well to confirm that I wasn't overreacting, and they too said it burned in a very unpleasant way. The noodles and chicken itself was very tasty, but I just wanted to warn others of the spiciness.
Quick access and a simple menu
This is an awesome place with tons of gluten free options very tasty
The curry chicken was bomb😁
Pot stickers delicious. Drunken noodles delicious too. Fried rice is good enough. It's above average Thai food and the fact that it's quick makes it fantastic.
Delicious, affordable, quick. Thai Kitchen is a great little place.
A great Bethesda budget option. Love their Pad Thai. Their mango sweet rice is also pretty great. My husband also likes the Basil Fried Rice.
Very tasty a reasonably priced! Portions are on the larger side but I am sure that works great for everyone.
It was really good would go back again.
Nice Thai food.
Have never written a review before. Just had the massamon curry. It was the worst curry I’ve ever had, and I eat a lot of curry. Tasted literally like the peanut dipping sauce used for satay with 4 pieces of semi raw potatoes and shrimp. To be fair I only had this dish. I have eaten here once before and was not impressed then but decided to try again.
It is one of the best Thai restaurants where we have eaten.
Overall I really do find this place a good value for quick carry out option. Their noodle and curry dishes are more than adequate. You have to spice them up a bit with the condiments they provide on the side but otherwise I come back for those dishes.
However, the stir fry I got recently was just awful. I got the Ku prow which is usually a standard beef option at similar Thai places. It was like a very watery beef with basil and onions dish. I mean it was just bland and unappetizing. I had to drown it in soy sauce just to salvage it.
They really need to put some work into making this dish better or work on their quality control, because for now on I am not going to risk trying anything from the stir fry section.
Again a good value restaurant that I think caters too much to the bland pallets of bougie elite people in the area. Might need more quality control. Stick to the curry and noodles.
Nice coustmer service, but food test change every single.
We really enjoyed the food and the portion sizes are very fair for the price. What ruined the experience for my family was the fact that we were finishing our meals almost 20 minutes before they closed, and they started turning off lights and bringing out cleaning supplies and poured bleach on the floor. The strong smell immediately made my husband's stomach upset so he took our 2 year old and waited outside while we packed up the remainder of our food in to-go boxes. It was really off putting and we all left feeling a bit queasy. They turned someone away who came in and wanted to place a to-go order 15 min before closing. They should post signage on the door that states they won't accept dine-in orders an hour before closing.
Love their larb gai, pas thai, and several appetizers. Very good quality for the price
Affordable Thai restaurant in Bethesda just north of Bradley Blvd.
Very fast. Excellent dishes. The best items are the stir fry and rice dishes. Can get crowded
Food took 20 extra minutes than time told
Great , healthy food at decent prices. I have seen great improvement in my cancer condition since eating there. I encourage everyone interested in a healthy lifestyle to try their food.
By far the best Thai restaurant in eastern Prince William
I came in during lunch hour last Friday. There wasn't a line but some customers waiting for their orders. I was standing at the counter for about a minute to be waited on. The cashier proceeded to come back to the counter, did not acknowledge me and proceeded to talk to a customer behind me in line and asked her if she was ready to order. I believe both myself and the customer behind me were shocked. The customer behind me proceeded to state I was waiting before her. The cashier did not apologize or offer a reason for overlooking. I addressed her about her lacking customer service and asked to speak with the owner. The owner indicated she was busy with cooking orders! Anyway, the lemongrass soup was pretty good. So much for customer service...
Very good be addition to community
Decided to try this new place, was delighted on how fresh and tasty the food was. This is not meant as much of a sit down restaurant, only few 2 people tables and more cold feeling like ambience likely good for lunch for businesses around, but the food was delicious and staff friendly and helpful. This meant for more take out but delicious and fresh! Parking is right around the back in the open lot parking space. We will be sure to return for pick up, there are no Thai options in Bethesda other than the old Bethesda, you have to venture out to Rockville or Silver Spring. Recommend you give it a try for pick up and you would not regret. I’m rooting for this place as I feel especially this part of Bethesda has lost much of its support for small businesses likely due to high rent. Enjoy!
I went there for lunch. Order was easy and i found a table by myself. They quickly brought out my food in few minutes. It was decent like other thai restaurant. I think their setup is efficient, food is good, service is in line with this type of restaurant.
However, when i tried to place an order over the phone, it was not possible. They don't have menu on a website or yelp. I called to ask and was told it is on facebook. However, it was a poor quality photo copy that is not readable. I was told to go in to place order and wait for it. Well, they are not that good for my taking too much time to do so. I actually ended up cooked my own delicious meal with my friend. They just lost 2 customers. We don't feel like to go back any time soon.
So happy this place landed here. Delicious, fresh, wonderful.
Very casual with very good food. I had the Massuman Curry with beef; that dish had a 0-chilli spicy rating but was very flavorful with just a hint of heat (I know how spicy Thai food can get).
Awesome food, awesome service. One of my new favorites!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in the DC area. The pad thai and green curry were both tasty and the Mango sticky rice was fresh and delicious.
Great prices, great food. love it!
Decent prices, good portions, food is decent, and they offer allergen info and foods. Hope they stick around
Had Panang curry. Very flavorful. It was Saturday, so wait for food was 30 minutes. I will come again.
I've been waiting my entire adult life for a fast casual (counter service), authentic Thai restaurant like this! The food was delicious, service was excellent, and prices extremely affordable for downtown Bethesda - pretty much any entree (including meat) is $10. They even have the water cups and water tank out in the dining area, which is a huge plus in my book. The only thing is that there are only about 8 or 10 tables, only a couple of which were four-tops (though most of the remaining two-tops can also be converted to four-tops), so I can imagine that it may be difficult to get a table during busy times, and there is no outdoor seating due to limited space on the sidewalk. That's really the only drawback I can think of, though. This place is already my new go-to!
