My husband and I ate here for the first time this week and we loved the food and service. I had the red curry chicken and it was delicious. We shared the dumplings and those were good, too. I don’t remember what my husband had but he loved it. The service was exceptional. This will be a go to place for us in the future.

There's a reason this little spot has 4.9 stars! We wanted Thai and were nearby, so we gave it a try. We ordered the potstickers as an appetizer, then Thai Fried Rice with Chicken and Rad Na as our entrées. We ordered both at "medium" spice level.

The potstickers were great and didn't take long to be brought out. Our entrées came out not long after and were hot. They tasted great! There wasn't a lot of spice. But to our surprise, the chef came out with a little rack of spices and showed us the best one for our dishes. We didn't ask for that but were so happy he did! It really elevated our dishes and gave it that classic Thai spice.

The woman who served us was very nice and took good care of us. The restaurant was very clean. It is small but cute. The prices were very reasonable, especially given the portion sizes. I am very glad I got to visit Happy Thai, and I encourage you to do the same!

Had the Thai iced coffee, avocado curry with Chicken, and beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup was really good, beef was done just right, not raw and not super chewy. Tastes great too. The avocado curry was alright, the curry wasn't thick, more watery, maybe due to it sitting a bit before I took it out of delivery container..tasted good. Was thinking it would be avocado flavored curry but no, there were avocado slices in the curry, which had great flavor when mixed with the curry/rice ..just was thinking it was going to be blended in. Still, was a good meal. Best part was the iced coffee, tasted strong, sweet, but not over powering. Reminded me of a Vietnamese coffee. Much much better than any coffee I could make at home or at fast food.

Just passing through town and wish I lived closer. This place was awesome! The people running the place were super friendly and welcoming. The Pad Thai was one of the best I have ever had! Red curry was delicious also. Grab a window seat and you might spot some bald eagles fishing.

I got volcano chicken and it was the best volcano chicken I have ever had . I asked for hot and it was perfect . Also crab rangoons are amazing too . Definitely will return when in the area .

Jack is beyond amazing in his service. We enjoyed the Jasmine Hot Tea, and the Thai hot level is the right spice level for me. This is a place of delight for vegetarians as most dishes can be made vegetarian and with flavor.

The food was very good and our waitress was very kind. I ordered the Pad Thai with the ‘hot’ spice level and it was very true to the scale that they had on their menu. Great environment for dinner and you get to look out at the river while you eat!

Wonderfully authentic! Crab Rangoon handmade in house is absolutely the best I have ever had. The shrimp fried rice was delicious as well as the mango avocado salad highly recommended. If you live locally you must visit. If you are traveling anywhere nearby, I recommend making a detour and stop in for an authentic Thai experience and enjoy a leisure walk along the river across the street.

We finally stopped in to eat at this restaurant after driving by many times. The services is amazing and the food is spectacular. We used to eat at another Thai restaurant in the area but Happy Thai Cuisine is our go to now.

Just ordered take out here for the first time. Greeted with a smile. Since it was the first time ordering here I just got an appetizer trio. The chicken satay, Rangoons and potstickers. Can’t decide which was my favorite app out of the 3. The food is just bursting with flavor. Very impressive Thai food. This is my new go to Thai place. Reasonable pricing as well for the quality and freshness!

This diamond in the rough is absolutely amazing. Every time I have ordered food from here it's been hot, fresh and delicious. It's easily the best Thai around and possibly top 3 I've ever had. I've only ordered carryout so I can't comment on the inside dining but the atmosphere has been pleasant when I pick up my food. The staff is very helpful and extremely friendly. Don't think about ordering here, just do it.

We have been here several times both eating in and take out and I love their food! The staff is very nice and pleasant to chat with. They are happy to accommodate with a high chair for my kid and also talk to him and include him. It's just wonderful! The outside doesn't look like much but when you walk in its cozy and will continue to support this local buisness!

Happy Thai Cuisine is my favorite restaurant in Orono Bangor area. It goes without saying that the food is amazing, I have almost tried their entire menu. The people there are just so nice, the familiar feeling that I get there I don't feel it anywhere else. It's just a great place with great staff and great vibes. I am a big fan!

I ordered off DoorDash, wasn’t bad. I ordered chicken pad Thai. The price is up there especially for it not really tasting like pad Thai. The sauce was brown, almost a burnt color and didn’t have any taste really at all. I wouldn’t buy from them again.

Easily the best food in Old Town. This is my favorite Thai place! The service is excellent, friendly, and the location is cozy. My favorites are probably their drunken noodles, their tom yum and tom kha soups, the chicken satay, and fresh spring rolls. Everything on the menu is fresh, delicious, and the service is fast and attentive. The owners are very sweet and fun people! Both the takeout and dine-in experiences are reliable— but if you can manage to eat-in, the atmosphere is calming, clean, and pleasant.

FAST,GREAT BANG FOR YOUR BUCK,CONSISTENT.

I've gone to happy thai consistently for about 3 and a half years now. I go when I don't feel well in specific because it's good home cooking! The attention to detail is unmatched for at least 200+ miles that I know of. If they can't bring 110% they won't open for the day. Every single time that I visit regardless of conditions they are consistent to a degree of perfection that is simply just unparalleled. Their Curry Noodle Soup with Chicken makes me feel better any day. The Volcano Chicken max hot could bring anyone to their knees in the best type of ways. No pictures because you'll have to see it to believe it.

Here's my tip: Regardless of what you order make sure you get a side of brown rice and a big side order of peanut sauce to go with. You won't be let down.

We get in and immediately my mother is offered a chair for her leg (she has surgery recently). Our orders were taken swiftly and the food came quickly. When I say the food was so good, IT WAS SO GOOD. I highly recommend going here, especially as a vegetarian. The staff was also super friendly and also tuned the spice level to what I can handle.

As someone who used to live in Thailand, I can say that the food here is authentic and delicious! I ordered the Khao Soi and it was perfect. While the price was higher than I would expect to pay, the portions were so generous that it actually turned out to be a good value. I ordered takeout so I can't speak to the dine-in service, but my order was made quickly and accurately.

My wife and I eat out like it’s a sport; mostly in Portland and mostly at James Beard winning or nominated restaurants - Some of the food at this place, like the Curry Fish and Khao Soi truly fit in that league. It’s the best food I’ve had in the greater Bangor area, without question!

We stopped in here on the way home from upta camp. We used the website to order, which went without issue. I liked that I was able to choose the exact pickup time. We enjoyed the crab Rangoons, which I order at every Thai place. They were crispy and full and delicious. The potstickers with the black sauce were also a hit. My husband and I both ordered chicken pad thai, one with 1 Star and one with 3 stars. Regrettably, the pad thai had almost no flavor. It was so bland that we had to dress it up when we got home with whatever spices and such we had available. It just tasted like rice noodles with spice on them. That was very disappointing, especially after reading so many good reviews. Our dish that the kids shared was orange chicken. It was so-so, more batter than chicken. The atmosphere in the building was lovely, and the bathroom was clean.

This is my favorite Thai eatery in the area.

There’s this pervasive notion that, the smaller and more unassuming the location, the higher the quality of the food, and I’m starting to think that’s true. The quality of the food is great, everything on the menu tastes very authentic, I especially appreciate their use of Basil to accentuate different flavors and achieve a new synthesis of flavor.

The atmosphere is very laid back, I haven’t personally dined in, but I have gone in to place my order. You kinda feel immediately right at home. The staff are also very nice and welcoming.

Their prices are a little on the higher side, however in my honest opinion, the quality of the food more than justifies the prices. If you’re looking for good, authentic Thai food, definitely give this nice little place a try!

I've been coming back to this place ever since I moved into Old Town. I like this place MUCH better than any place I had around Bangor.

The food is clearly made from high quality ingredients, very fresh, and also lots of love. Unfortunately, after years of trying Thai food, it was at this restaurant I came to terms with the fact that I just don't like Thai food. It's probably the shrimp paste or something, but no matter where I go I don't like it. Why I realized it here was because the food looked great, portions were out of this world, everything tasted fresh and flavorful, only it were flavors I just could not bring myself to enjoy. So I don't want to lower their reviews cuz this is clearly a great place with authentic Thai food made with care. The 1/2 a star off is not about the food but the atmosphere. I wish they didn't play weird channels on the TV and did something about the acoustics. But it's just small stuff. I'm kinda tempted to come back and ask them to maybe make something without that flavor base they used for the dishes I tried previously, but I don't like asking restaurants make changes to their dishes, particularly fundamental ones that alter the entire flavor profile.

The jasmine tea was to die for by the way.

First of all before I continue best thai food ive had in the last 6 years and definetly best in maine. Went there July 2nd for my wife's bday as she really likes thai food. It was great! Veggies in the mango rice and pineapple rice still had a crispness to them, pad thai didn't skimp on the sauce at all unlike most places down here. Only gripes is the pad tahi could use some kick it felt almost one dimensional. Yeah can get spicier for more of that but even at a mild or medium a little bit of acid or spice like crushed red pepper or something could come a long way. Also id get rid of the laminant flooring it doesnt stick well and is coming up in spots and building should be leveled or at least add supports to uneven sides of the tables. A wobbly table and a peeling floor can take away from the good authentic restraunt feel. Overall fantastic food, good portion sizes, and nice atmosphere. Definitely would go again

Great, fresh and tasty.. nice to have this in Old Town.

Second time trying the food and impressed both times. We’ve only ordered takeout but have had great customer service while ordering and during pickup.

Fried veggie rolls and chicken pad Thai are some of our favorites. Glad to have such a great addition to Old Town.

Love this place! We’re making our way through the menu and haven’t had a bad meal yet! Good size portions and great flavors.

My new favorite Thai restaurant! I was a little skeptical about the prices at first (in comparison to other Thai places in the area,) but you definitely get what you pay for here.... and then some! Great portions, fresh vegetables. Clearly prepared by people with a passion for food. 5/5 - would recommend!

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with this place. I will definitely be coming here at least once a week to treat myself. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious! I ordered the orange chicken which came with beautiful crisp vegetables and the most perfect fluffed rice.
I also ordered the ragoons fried to perfection no grease or anything and the dipping sauce is the perfect amount of balanced sweet.

You seriously can't get any better anywhere else. I'm so pleased and thankful to have this place here in Old Town.

Very friendly. Good, quick service. Very high quality food. Crab Rangoon we're amazing. The curry is the best in the Bangor area. I'll be going back very soon.

Me and my girl went earlier for the first time, I got the pepper steak and she got the duck soup and with all honesty this might be the best restaurant in old town right now. Perfect quality, big portions, great service, and good prices.

Love this place! Beautiful atmosphere, fast and attentive service. I felt very well taken care of while I was in there, they took extra care in making my experience great and it definitely was! The veggie rolls and ragoons were very tasty. And the chicken pad thai was phenomenal. Huge portion sizes for the price. They also make a very yummy Thai iced tea. Definitely the best Thai place in the state! Can't wait to go back

Absolutely amazing. Made fresh to order. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Will continue to go and try new things. Ordered crab rangoons, orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken along with Thai iced tea and it was spot on.

Wow. Just wow. This level of quality in Old Town Maine just blew me away. Thai Hot is actually hot so be warned. The water comes with slight citrus addition. The meat was perfectly prepared and melts in your mouth. This level of cuisine is without competition for central Maine.

My husband and I went there for dinner. It was very delicious and authentic. I am glad to have a good and authentic Thai restaurant in the area. We will definitely go back.

I have been looking for Thai food that met this quality for so long. I ordered Massaman curry with duck, best I’ve had. Big thanks to this restaurant for bringing back all the good memories I’ve had eating Thai over the years. The staff is so nice and I couldn’t ask for a more positive experience.

I got the mango fried rice with pork and the fried bananas with honey. They were both so good! And the customer service was really awesome too. If you’re in the old town/Milford/Orono area you should totally check this place out!

Honestly one of the most enjoyable take-out food experiences of my life. This is the first online restaurant review I have ever done but I felt like it was mandatory to share.

I arrived to pick up my food a bit early and in the meantime was greeted with great conversion by Mike, a young man who makes it obvious he has a strong love for what he and his family are doing by offering great food in a friendly atmosphere. He was welcoming, kind and especially funny. Apparently he is a co-owner with his father, who I did not have the pleasure of meeting. He made sure we got a free order of spring rolls as part of a promotion deal that I wasn’t aware of.

Upon leaving, I was already in love with this place before even tasting the food...
Once I did dig in, I realized how special this place really is. Between me and my girlfriend we got 2 entrees and 2 apps. Everything was phenomenal. Every ingredient was obviously fresh and perfectly integrated for a truly authentic taste. I got the orange chicken, which was exceptional because it was served in a naturally sweet sauce with real mandarin pieces in there, rather than an over-sweet artificial sugar sauce you would likely find elsewhere. I could go on and on about each dish, but take my word, this place is certainly worth the try.

P.S. - Everything was packaged and presented perfectly, which I appreciate:)

This place is absolutely one of the best Thai places around. Food is fresh and flavorful. we had pad thai shrimp, drunken noodle beef, and yellow curry. let me tell you we love every bite of it. you guys have to try it you won't be disappointed!
