Thai Food
This place snuck up on me and the wife, and we gave it a shot. The service was fast and courteous. When we sat down they brought cold waters before taking our drink orders which is a plus. The food was out fast, and it melted in your mouth. I haven't had duck prepared like that for a long time!
We ordered the Pad See You with chicken (light sauce), Ginger Pork, and vegetable delight with chicken (light sauce). Every dish was excellent. So flavorful and fresh. The staff was friendly too.
A very slow night at the restaurant yet service was minimal. Bitterly cold out, ordered hot saki, and after a long wait received ice cold saki. The hot beverage arrived well after the meal was served. Food acceptable, nothing great. Heat/spice level much less than expected. A check in on our meals was done as we were finishing. Won't return.
Small Thai restaurant. Has outdoor seating adding tables in appropriate weather. I always get a scallion pancake and pineapple fried rice with chicken. They give you choice of 1 to 5 for spice heat, or zero if you wish. Really good lunch or dinner.
Weird to see so many good reviews. Service was fine, but the potato in the Massaman was RAW, like crunchy indigestion raw. It’s like they warmed the coconut milk enough to melt the curry paste and cook the chicken, but no emulsification or really any flavor other than canned curry paste and fish sauce. Crazy to pay someone to not finish a giant plate of food. I could have taken it back to the kitchen and fired it five-ten more minutes in the wok and it would have atleast been edible. Chicken Laab also was funky. Had slimy rotten cilantro in it, I get it, cilantro goes bad quick, but 86 it if the cilantro isn’t fresh………
Nothing worth raving about. Paid $50 for two entrees and an appetizer plus tip. I’m sure the right stir fry or fried rice is fine, but half the menu seems like a bad idea if the vegetable quality is so iffy.
Clean environment that is peaceful and calm. Food was amazing. I recommend ginger crispy duck with white rice. The duck melts in your mouth.
I am embarrassed to say it took me three years to try this restaurant, deliciousness I will never recover.
Anyways, we had the shrimp shumai and chicken pad Thai. The shrimp shumai was perfect, as was the pad Thai.
The waitress was very attentive and kept our water glasses full.
Looking forward to the next visit!
Always an amazing flavor experience. Great Thai food

Great meal, wonderful staff.
This turned out to be our 2nd choice in Damariscata as unfortunately the Schooner Landing suffered a devastating fire last night, however we were most pleasantly surprised with a wonderful meal served by the most charming server Amelia. This restaurant offers a small outdoor deck which was perfect since we had our small pup with us.
We always enjoy eating here. Tasty, fresh and authentic. Yummy in our tummies!

Best thai around which you wouldn't expect in a tiny coastal town in maine. Flavors on point staff amazing service quick and attentive! Highly recommend.
Excellent, super fresh food every time.
The staff is always welcoming, food is always good and we always leave happy! (Done in or take out).
Truly the best Thai! My whole family makes a point to eat here every time we’re in the area
Best Thai is fantastic! They never disappoint. My fave is the pineapple fried rice, but we’ve tried a ton of their entrees. My kids love their fried rice with steamed veggies and the pork dumplings.
Very good Thai food. Looking forward to going back.
Chicken Pad Thai was the worse I have ever had. No vegetables, tough chicken. Delivered so quickly I think it was left-overs that they microwaved. That would explain why the chicken was so tough.
Really good Thai food. Maybe even the best. Certainly the best I’ve had in a long time.
Consistently good food. Locally-owned. No wait.
I have taken out here multiple times! The food is very good. My fav is the Drunken Noodle. But it's all good.
Delicious Thai food! The panang curry and phad thai noodles was tasty.
I drive about 40 min just to eat here, I absolutely love the food and you can always depend on it being the same and just as good every time u order.
I get takeout here often and my wife makes me bring it home to GUILFORD!!! OUTSTANDING
Best Thai food in Midcoast Maine! Very consistent and reliable. Favorite dishes- panang curry, and pad see ew. Crispy spring rolls are delicious!
Greatest chicken pad thi
Delicious food, fast service, friendly people and best of all, for anyone who knows small towns in Maine, open after 7pm.
I had the garlic sauce Chicken and must say that the vegetables were perfectly cooked. They had a crunch to them that just hit the spot
The fresh spring rolls and their home made peanut sauce was delightful. I'm so glad we stumbled on this place during our roadtrip.
Best Tom yum soup I've ever had!
Food is full of delicious flavor, one of my favorite places to eat.
It's a regular for us. I highly recommend this place. I live 25 minutes away and order often from them. Their Thai food is very consistent and very good quality. Many vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices.
i don’t usually do this. but i sat down and got water instantly. that was it, sat their for half an hour with no menu or drinks or acknowledgment that i wad there. after trying a couple times to get a waiter attention. we got up and left. disappointing. I love this place and there food. maybe it was a bad day. hopefully thats what it was.
My husband and I order out from Best Thai Damariscotta about once weekly. I usually default to the Fresh Ginger With tofu; it is exquisite. Fresh slices of ginger permeate this dish, along with snow peas, onions & peppers. I order brown rice and most recently with noodles. I love it every time!! We ate in the restaurant with friends two Fridays ago, and the food was fresh, well presented and DELICIOUS1
It was a little cramped but the dumplings are amazing! And the staff are very friendly!
Pad thai & racha wings were very delicious. Our waitress was friendly & attentive We will come back again!
Literally THE *BEST* THAI. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our party ordered 3 different curries, 2 kinds of rice, 2 soups, 2 noodle dishes, the mango rice dessert and one Thai coffee. Everything arrived exceptionally fast. The portions were large and everything was cooked to perfection. Every single dish was amazingly delicious. I kept waiting for something I didn't like but never found it. My only tiny complaint was that one of our curries had to be asked for, but when serving a large party, something is bound to slip. I would definitely visit again and tell all my friends that this is the place to have Thai.
We literally stumbled upon this little place and it was wonderful. I have a soy allergy and I was worried they could not serve me but they went out of their way to make sure I could eat the Pad Thai and it was DELICIOUS! Tender chicken and the right amount of sweetness and tang. My husband also ordered the chicken pad Thai and his was equally as delicious. The service was amazing. We definitely recommend.
It’s the best tai restaurant in town, my family I love the food there!!!
Delicious, best food of our trip
Wonderful service. Excellent appetizers. Can get a bit crowded and tight but it's worth it, and if course you can just say hello to the ones at the next table.
After living in Thailand for a few years it is nice to be able to get authentic Thai food here in Maine. Love it
The food was very good but the service was slow.
Fresh takeout. Easy online ordering. Ready when requested.
By far my favorite Thai food place to go to in Maine, I haven't yet found another restaurant that exceeds the experience, flavor and portion size than here!
Amazing. Simply Amazing. Just come here and eat. Trust me. You will not be disappointed.
Nice folks. Delicious food. Love the new paint inside!
Both Best Thai and Best Thai II in Bath are equally best at the very best!
Refreshing menu great seating hours perfect for late meal. Open until 8p most days.
It really is the best Chicken Pad Thai. The peanut sauce took it to the next level. Will be back!
Delicious Thai food! We were so pleased to find this restaurant open on a rainy night. The staff are very polite and helpful and all our dishes were terrific. They do a great carry out business too. Highly recommend!
Oeder three dishes all taste average, the food is half sauce, no fork and napkin in the take out drives me crazy.
We ordered spring rolls, seafood Tum Yum soup, Drunken Noodle, and Larb Kai. Fresh ingredients and excellent flavor. Relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.
We had eaten here 4 years ago when we where in town and it was very good then. They have moved to a better location and the food is still very good!!
Name very misleading. Love Thai, but not Best Thai. Absurdly underwhelmed.
Oh man, seriously. The food here is amazing! We had such a fantastic time. The staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is great. This really is world-class Thai food. They have a huge selection of items from apps and soups through entrées, noodle bowls and curries. Can't wait to visit Maine again so we can come back.
We love this place! The food is wonderful, servers are lovely, and we got to eat outside, so everyone in our party was comfortable. We go every year when we visit Damariscotta.
Decent prices. I got the chicken wings and beef padthai. The padthai smelled like feet at first but it tasted really good, the beef was awful. I picked it off the plate. Id suggest the chicken instead.
Delicious! Way better than I expected
I try Thai everywhere I go. The veggie tempura here was perfect. Light coating. I did not use the dipping sauce, but my friend enjoyed it.
I had a seafood penang, my friend beef curry. We both were surprised at both the serving size and reasonably priced lunches.
We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. The meals were served quickly and piping hot.
If you like Thai, you will love THE BEST THAI.
This restrunt has new owners , at this time we did not find the food to be as good as we have enjoyed there before.
The name says it all, “best Thai.” As a portlander accustomed to great food and a regular Thai food consumer I can say that this is confidently the best Thai food outside of Thailand I have tasted. Don’t miss this spot, stop reading and go!
Best place in Maine to get take out, omg y'all gone think ya died and went to heaven
Great Thai Chili wings and crab rangoon
Great service & food
Always delicious and I never wait more than 10 minutes for my food. Probably the most consistent restaurant in the area
The Pad Thai and the fried rice is really good.
Very good food and very good boba tea. The staff was lovely. Service was great. There are few flaws with this establishment and I'd recommend going here 100%
One of the best places for Thai food in Maine!
We often get takeout and it has always been great, but for the first time we recently had lunch inside. The server was pleasant and inside was cozy on a rainy day. Food was yummy as predicted. We got the brussels sprout appetizer and the fried spring rolls - all delicious. Our main dishes (pad thai and curry) were also great. Happy to have such a great place in town!
Great khao soi. Will be back.
Excellent food and great service.
One of my favorite places in Damariscotta for a date night . Always a high quality and delicious meal accompanied by friendly service.
Really great place for Thai food. My husband and I both got drunken noodle for lunch. Mine was with fried tofu and his with chicken. The food came out quickly and was full of flavor. Level 3 for spiciness was a great (I like spicy food but also like to taste my food). We almost got a third one to take home for dinner!
When they say "Best Thai", whew they ain't kidding. Friendly, quick service. Delicious food. Whether you want to dine in or take out it is a pleasant experience and a wonderful meal.
Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. The pad Thai was maybe a little too sweet for me and the noodles a little over cooked, but not too bad for a small town in Maine.
hot dayum why is the drunken noodle so fawkin gud!?
We love Best Thai! We go frequently and are never disappointed. Thank you for doing such a good job.
I enjoyed it and loved the Thai tea.
Great service and great food. Their drunken noodle was amazing. Love the new location and wonderful lunch we had. We'll be back!!
The food and service were good.
I've been there many times since they opened. Good quality food, fair prices, free parking. I'll be back again (and again). They do a brisk business in take out. It seems to be patronized by a lot of locals as well as the seasonal tourists.
this place is amazing. i’m still sitting in my chair as i’m writing this—i needed to spread the news ASAP. best pad thai i’ve had in years (i live in new york city, so i’ve tried a fair few). my boyfriend got the ginger crispy chicken and a coconut bubble tea, both of which were also fantastic. we also got the shrimp shumai and summer rolls. no surprise, they were absolutely delicious. wonderful service too, everyone was so kind and helpful. also extremely well priced!!!! i couldn’t have more love for this place
Very tasty, spice level was exactly what I had requested. Take out was easy and on time
Super authentic Thai food made by lovely Thai people, however if you really want it the Thai way, ask them to cut back on the sugar. Americans like too much sugar so to please them, many restaurants add it to appease local taste. Go native, ask for Thai style and not too much sugar. Pad Ka Prow is delish.
Had chicken pad Thai, steamed pork dumplings & ginger fish - perfect combo. Busy night so sat at the bar - lovely night out! 🌺
Orange chicken was thin, chewy, and hard. Other stuff was fine.
Fantastic Thai and very friendly staff indoor and outdoor seating!
Great food and great service. Generous portions. Will be back again!
Delicious food and friendly service. It's a bonus that they label which items are gluten-free. The panang curry was some of the best I've had in a while.
Love their Thai food, I get it every few weeks. Noodle dishes are amazing and workers are friendly
Delicious, efficient takeout with very consistent quality!
We live about 40 minutes away, but I have no qualms about driving for take out from Best Thai. Excellent food! The menu is quite extensive, but I’m a sucker for the Crispy Duck.
Excellent food...take out only, inside pick up, one way traffic....distancing....all good!
Great Thai food!!
Love the food and the staff is amazing!
They have extremely good food
Soggy dumplings and i didn’t get my sesame beef. This might be Benji’s fault. Love Jeremy
Food was good in the price was right
They're taking order for pickup at their window and denying people who are not wearing a mask and I think that is very progressive of them. I love this place I have ordered pad Thai about three times during the pandemic and it's definitely helped my vibe. Thank you for such friendly customer service.
Make sure you calculate the total yourself. Just tried to order and they added more than $2.00 per item. Website says $1.00 - $1.50. When I cancelled my order I was given a sleezy guilt trip tactic by the owner trying get me to not cancel the order. The bottom line is that are charging customers more than they are aware of and only if you are paying attention will you catch it.
Best thai!
Crispy wonton is fireee
Flavorful food prepared well and served promptly
The best Thai food I have found on Midcoast Maine. We will make a point of stopping here for a meal when we can.
Delicious Pad Thai Chicken! Friendly workers. Thanks!
Great Thai.
Great food.
Food came out wrong once and we were told a dietary accommodation would happen "only this one time." Our noodle dishes were great but the curry puffs didn't seem fresh. Glad this restaurant is in town but needs a little work.
Pad Thai not as good as Bua Thai but really good. Laab Na and Pad Sew Ew also good.
MORE MOCHI ❤️and more nut free options would be nice.
Great little place if you're in the mood for good Asian food. Take out is the most popular way to dine here but they have a small outdoor patio and indoor seating. You cam make reservations for parties more than four people. Food is very good and the service is fast. My one year old son attacked the chicken satay so a win in my book. Bit pricey but doesn't disappoint.
The curries are ok but not as tasty as other places I have been - green curry had too much coconut milk. The broccoli with oyster sauce pretty tasty. Staff friendly.
Excellent food if you like vegan as well as vegetarian dishes!!!!
Good food but higly Americanized
We had a table of 6, everyone tried something different and we all were happy with our meals and the service.
really is the best thai
So glad we found this place right after kayaking at Damariscotta river. Yummy food & great service.
Food- We had thai iced tea & chicken drunken noodles, thai red curry, basil fried rice & mango rice. Everything was tastier than expected.
Service- Staff is very friendly & service was fast.
Ambience- Nice & warm.
A staple of midcoast dining, through and through. May be a bit of a wait, but the food is incredible for the price. The name is far from deceiving
The waitress is super nice and the rice is the bomb. The doll gives me the creeps though. 11/10.
Delicious food with great service!
Fabulous wait staff that are friendly and attentive. Food is always consistently delicious. It deserves the name.
Cute and quiet atmosphere. Ordered the cashew chicken and it was awesome!! The perfect combination of sweet and spicy. The waiter was completely knowledgeable on the menu, attentive, knew the area, and extremely sweet!
I definitely recommend and will come back.
Great food. Intimate setting, good service.
Fast friendly service. The food was excellent.
Great Thai food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff, plenty of parking, quick take-out service. Their sister restaurant, Best Thai II in Bath, is equally as good. Highly recommended.
We had a great meal there, the kids who were serving couldn't have been more friendly or witty, and most of all the food was excellent. Go there, but go there with an appetite.
Great food with with friendly staff
