A real Thai restaurant with a real Thai chef. She makes Thai food the way Thai people eat it.

I honestly can’t believe that I haven’t reviewed this place yet. I’ve been going here for a few years now. Being a vegan I don’t have many options on the Westbank. My go to order here is the tofu fried rice (no-egg) on the lunch menu and I love their roti with peanut sauce as well. They also make me a Thai tea with coconut cream instead of milk.
I hit up A Taste of Thailand while in town on business from Chicago. I did a carry out, so I can’t attest to the service or atmosphere, but the food…. LEGIT!
I had the combo pad Thai and it was incredible. The shrimp, chicken and beef were super fresh. The sauce is fantastic. When I got back to my hotel and opened the container I was like, whoa, that’s a lot of food. I planned to eat half.
By the time the damage was done, I ate the entire thing. It was incredible. Just insanely fresh and delicious.
I would absolutely recommend the Pad Thai and I will be back again next time I’m in town!
This is my favorite thai spot in the metro area. For the price it’s hard to beat. The curries are great. They have a ton of to go orders so as you dine it’s a constant in and out of delivery drivers but for a spot to just good a great decently priced curry it’s perfect.
Our server Marquita was really nice and very attentive. I went there with friends/co-workers for a staff meeting and we were the only ones there the entire time which was 2 hours. I read the reviews on Yelp and they were bad, really bad; I was a little nervous to go but we already had decided to meet there. The food came out quick and we all ate family style. It was enough food to feed all four of us. We ordered the papaya salad, basil rice, drunken noodles, a curry and a dessert. I liked everything, but my co-workers couldn't handle too much spice so it was nice that they can tailor the spiciness. I only give it 3 stars because my boss could tell that the shrimp was imported. I work with commercial fishermen so I'm always looking for ways they can market their product locally instead of restaurants serving imports. Either way, I'd go back.
Went to this place on a spur of the moment decision. Glad we did. Food was good and staff was friendly. Food came out quickly and my wife and I enjoyed. There was one spice that I did not care for but the rest of the dish was great. This was our first time trying Thai food and we will be giving it another try. Love trying out new things.
Excellent Pad Thai.

I'm not sure what food taste like but as a delivery driver, I have noticed they are extremely slow. The food is rarely ready for pickup and I have waited for over 30 minutes for orders for delivery.

The food is great, the atmosphere is slightly lacking, and the cutlery was dirty. But I'll definitely be back for the food, probably as takeout, though.
Food was ready, Had an Uber driver waiting for 30 minutes. Have called the restaurant 15 times, no answer. Do not recommend.
Sooo sweet. Genuine kindness. Good flavors.
Amazing !! Great food and at a good price!! Definitely recommend this place.
Tom the owner is a great chef and cooks authentic Thai food.
One of the best Thai restaurants in have been to since being in New Orleans. Amazing!!! Very Authentic. Great relaxing atmosphere..
the shrimp pad thai is my favorite. they always get my order right and it's always hot. they replaced the thai tea (because they ran out) with this really delicious matcha mint(?) tea and it's so good. thanks!
Delicious Thai food that I ever eat from a lot of states.
Food is ok. Ordered delivery, maybe that’s why. Wouldn’t order there again
So good and have good prices

The food here is absolutely divine!!!!! The roti with the peanut sauce was insanely good. The red curry was a bowl of heaven. And the mango sticky rice was the perfect ending! I didn’t catch the waitress name but she was extremely nice. This is my new fav Thai restaurant.
This has become my favorite Thai place! The red curry is incredible!
A hidden gem. Outstanding service and the food always delicious. I got the crab Rangoon and the glass noodle with beef chicken and shrimp. Highly recommend
They serve a delicious Thai fried. OMG
It's so tasty 😋
Thrilled to have this gem on the Westbank. Though there are a few contenders for local Thai this is by far my favorite! Service is great and the food quality is always consistent. Not to mention the prices are so affordable. I’ve been meaning for a while to review. All the curries are delicious. All of them. The shrimp rolls are great! But my favorite dish is the stir fried eggplant (I get it with beef) on the specials card.
Amazing comfort food! I highly recommend it.
I considered giving more stars, because the food is really good, especially the curry. But by all means, if you want to eat their food, get delivery or takeout. Why?
In chronological order:
-the restaurant was incredibly cold, A/C on full blast. A sweater was not enough.
-our table had tiny gnats crawling on it, even before we had food. And we had a lot of time with just us and the gnats, because…
-it took about 45 minutes to get our food, appetizer and entrees all came together. No updates during the wait, except to verify what kind of noodles we had ordered…
-which turned out to be pointless, because we still got the wrong noodles (pad see ew in place of pad kee mao). Didn’t even bother to complain at that point, because it was close enough that it wasn’t worth waiting for another plate.
-waitress knocked over the dipping sauce, cleaned up but didn’t replace it.
-the Panang curry was so good, really. I even dunked my spring roll in it, because, you know, the dipping sauce was gone.
-more waiting to get the check.
-check is incorrect, they charged us for bottled water when we had clearly ordered and received tap water.
-they refused to take the bottled water off the check, and insisted that they had poured bottled water into our cups before bringing them out. Ridiculous even if it were somehow true.
Great 👍 food n Great service
Great food!
A hidden gem. Good food reasonably priced and a nice selection. The drunken noodles were a 10
Really good food. Everything tasted fresh and had a great presentation. A nice, quaint place to grab a bite when you need a spicy vegetarian dish.
Delicious! And reasonably priced too.
So happy I found this little treasure.
Great flavors!
Lunch with my honey - Pad Thai & Drunken Noodles - So DELISH WE ATE THE PICTURES TOO!
Loved it.
I eat here regularly, food is delicious, I usually get the stir fries, but the curries and noodle dishes are delicious, as an American that doesn't know anything about Thailand but eats at lots of Thai restaraunts in the US, this is one of the better ones I've been to. Maybe 99% of the time food is delicious for the past 2 years ive been coming here. Once in a blue moon I get something that is not quite as good as I'm used to.
Delicious! Everything we ate was superb! This was our first Thai food experience and it didn’t disappoint. We had chicken satay, the dumplings, and chicken and seafood pad thai!
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent prices! Can't wait to go back.
This is my favorite restaurant. Every time I eat here the food is amazing. The waitress who works there is so kind! I’ve recommended this restaurant to basically everyone. BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!! ❤️
Excellent Khao Soi Gai. Very good service.
This place is a hidden gem. If you lien like real authentic Thai street style food then you have to come try this place I guarantee you’ll go back for more. It is that good and the lady that works the counter is one of the nicest most polite people I have ever met, make sure to treat her good. If I could give this place 10 stars I without a doubt would.
Food was good. Service was good. Convenient location.
Excellent menu and options, with great service and a nice atmosphere. Always a go-to for Thai when I'm on the West Bank.
It's a secret Gem. The Curries and Pah Thai are as good as anywhere but this is close to me on the West Bank. Plus I think it's family owned so the service is great. The restaurant looks unimpressive on the outside but don't be fooled, and the prices are very moderate.
absolutely awesome!!! warning...do not order it HOT unless you mean it. this spot is the real deal!!!
The best Thai food around. Wonderful staff. Fresh food. Everything is wonderful. Have tried the whole menu. A+++
The new owners have really stepped it up. The new decor is inviting and cool. The ceiling fans keep it cooler that in part visits. The food was fantastic. Nans gave us GREAT SERVICE. And for that, I happily overtipped her.
Alaround good and different
The food was great. I’ll definitely do this again.
Love the food here. Friendly staff and owners. Atmosphere is great unless there is a party next door. (Not the fault of the restaurant)
This was our second time visiting. We enjoyed our food and the friendly staff. Bang Bang shrimp 🍤🍤 was really good along with our other meals.
The owners are lovely Good always on point Never a let down coming here
One of the BEST Thai restaurants around! I've been wanting to try this place for years, but never did until a few weeks ago! I went again today, and needless to say, it's amazing! The food is always fresh & very hot, even when you order through a delivery service. The service is great, the workers are really kind, and the interior is super warm and inviting!! I'd recommend their crispy spring rolls and their Thai fried rice!! So yummy, 10/10. I definitely just found my new spot, you guys are awesome over there!
We loved it here. The food is really good , good portion and at affordable prices. The Thai tea is excellent and it's our 2nd time. Nothing beats consistent taste.
Our waitress is always smiling her casual natural professional attitude is a whole vibe worthy of high class! Just love her!
Location is small party type seating. Variety, stool, booth or table seating makes for everyone's individual style.
Excellent and authentic
Very good place to be at! Would surely come again
Delicious food with great service. Everything is fresh and prepared With great care. Really healthy food And very tasty. We are repeat customers and love going there.
SUCH GREAT FOOD!!! and the service was outstanding. They are super friendly. Will definitely be returning!
Massaman Curry, crab rangoon, chicken satay and roti were all So so yummy
5 Stars ⭐️ Food is great , staff is great, Beautiful interior I like seafood curry noodles 🍜 with white rice 🍚
Restaurant has class.
The Thai fried rice with chicken was delicious.
Edit update: All 3 members of our party had stomach discomfort about an hour or two later.
I actually ordered through Door Dash, so I don't know what it's like inside, but my God was hot when it got here and things were on point. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, the pad woosen, the pineapple curry (can you sense a theme?) and the crunchy tofu. Now I ordered the curry mild because I thought my 3yo might have some, but it was still very spicy (in a good way for me, but not for my kiddo). The pad woosen was yummy, and the pineapple fried rice was tasty and the chunks of pineapple delightful. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the sweet chili sauce that came with the crispy tofu. It was thin and not very flavorful; I would've preferred something a little thicker, I guess. Overall very pleased with my experience and I hope to visit in person soon!
I have been in the Army for 21 years and have been stationed all over the world. Including Pattaya and Utapao, Thailand. The food here is the best and most authentic Thai I’ve had. The owner is amazing and super friendly. I recommend them to everyone who will listen. Easily my favorite restaurant in town.
Everything is so authentic and tastes so good. The sticky rice with mango for desert is so good!
Bruhhh... this food is off the chain. Very nice place with the sweetest lady running it. Orange chicken was phenomal. Definitely try the Thai Tea too, delicious. Very good pricing as well, you won't find another Thai places with prices this good for the quality.
The owner is so nice! The food was amazing! Everything is perfect! Definitely worth going back!
Food was awful!!!
😞😞
Everything I had was excellent as good as what I had in Thailand and even better. The red curry was unbelievable along with the seafood pad Thai and a green papaya salad. Very reasonable price and nice quantities. Would highly recommend
We had massaman curry, green curry, drunken noodles and tom khar soup...all were super delicious and we were indulging in it...highly recommend this place!!!
Last time I went in there they had an ongoing problem with fruit flies. I could see them in the restaurant and when I got home with my order, found a live one in my thai pad noodles. Yuk. Hey, otherwise, the food is good, but I won’t eat there with a fruit fly problem buzzing around the place.
The food is always delicious. We love the curry dishes. The service is always warm and friendly. They make you feel like family. I drive all the way from the airport to go there.
My Husband and I eat here often. Fresh, taste and delicious
❤️ it!!!!!!
I absolutely love eating here if you want a delicious meal that's healthy come here.
I have to tell them mild spice which I’m not used to doing but it’s my new fav Asian restaurant
Yummy! Authentic delicious !! Fresh!! worth the ride, came with great customer service, great vegetarian options. My new favorite place.
This is my go to place for delicious food and great service.
The person that waited on me was really good and nice the food tasted really good it had a nice texture it tasted authentic and it had a nice vibe to the place that made you feel comfortable once you go they will remember you I might have went there two three days in a row but the first day when I ordered a hot tea they gave me just the hot tea cup second day they gave me the hot tea pot and she remembered everything I ordered previously and asked me if I wanted the same order or something new third day I came with my son and his dad still good vibe after all this time my son loved it and his dad did too and both of them are very picky me as long as they have tea I'm good just kidding but overall the service the food the Vive everything about this place I think you fall in love with I hope this helps you to want to pass by this place is small but the foods are delicious and the service is great oh by the way have a God blessed day and hope you liked my review
Good food.
First time eating here. I do uber so im stay getting orders from here so i decide to try it.i love it thank so much the food was great, neat, and taste good. Will be comeing back soon. I had dumpling which is crispy 👏🏾👍🏾 And crag rangoon also panang curry and thai tea
Yum! Aroy mak. As close to authentic Thai as I've found in town. Beautiful Thai smiles service. So happy this spot exists!
Placed a carry out order and got a papaya salad with chicken Pad Thai. It was absolutely delicious! I've eaten in the restaurant a few times before and the food is always great.
Great tasting food, was happy with it
Delicious, clean, fast, good prices, large servings and a super kind family. We loved everything. Thank you!
The spicy Thai basil fried rice was delicious!! My husband and I both joined the clean plate club. I had medium spice bc Thai level spice is too hot 🥵. We’re so excited that the restaurant is under new management and the food is even more tasty. I recommend this place. The prices and good as well.
Delicious, Fresh ingredients, Excellent Service. Welcomed soon upon arrival. The waitress/ proprietor was extremely efficient and well mannered. THE DAIL LUNCH MENU IS A BARGIN & HAS LOTS OF VARIETY. THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS A HIDDEN GEM, YOU WILL BE PLEASED DINNING HERE. CHECK OUT THE PICS OF DISHES & PICS of Lunch Menu
Just tried Thai food for the first time and I'm in love with the Pad Thai with shrimp. I will be a repeat customer after this experience.
I usually get takeout from this place for lunch. And the dining experience for dinner was just what I needed—🥰
Outstanding place!!! The customer service was great and the food even better. I ordered the fried spring rolls and green curry Thai hot. These were the fattest Thai spring rolls I have ever had. They were very tasty. The green curry was probably some of the best I have had and o have eaten curry in Thailand. The place is not that expensive either. This place is worth a try.
Delicious and vegetarian friendly.
Red curry was delicious. Looking forward for my next visit.
This is one of my favorite restaurants on the westbank. I’ve tried every Thai restaurant on the westbank and this is by far the best.
I recommend the green curry, pad Thai and spring rolls. I wish they had chicken satay but it isn’t on the menu.
Food is always delish and service is great!
Ordered take out today and went to pick it up. The place was so clean and smelled great! The people working were polite helpful and so kind! I will definitely be going back and recommending this place to my friends. The food was delicious Tom Yum soup is my favorite and they did not disappoint I also got the drunken noodle entree it was a nice portion and the taste was great! 5 stars :) for anyone in these reviews saying “the drunken noodle was so spicy I can’t eat it don’t realize drunken noodles is SUPPOSE to be spicy hence the name it’s so hot you’d get drunk cooking your mouth off… if you don’t like it spicy order mild it’s simple :)
Good tasting food😋
I ordered thru delivery app. Restaurant didn’t see or do my meal customization or spice level. Not a huge deal. Got Pad See Ew. They don’t use wide rice noodles. Didn’t have that warm yummy taste you usually get from pad see ew
Great food! Delicious and well prepared.
To everyone that likes non-spicy AND spicy authentic Thai food, this is it. Not that Modern-Fusion taste that caters to consumers with bland taste buds - go to the other two Thai restaurants in the West Bank. Idk why it has 4.3 stars because the staff is small so they recognize me and returning customers and they make me feel welcomed and special all the time. Reminds me of going home to my parents for a nice, endorphin-boosting meal. 100/10 because they are underrated. Try for yourself and seriously let them know if they’re cooking is delicious over other Thai restaurants (staying unbiased here about taste since I grew up eating this type of SPICE and ingredients). Thank you to the Chef Tom and the nice lady who took my order (don’t know how to spell your name but I know how to pronounce it) 💯💯💯❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I ordered from here tonight and every other order has been great
Tonight our drunken noodles have BLACK PEPPER on them. Not once have I had black pepper on druken noodles here or anywhere else EVER. And it has so much I cant even eat it. I got this to share with my kid because its a mild flavorful dish.
I called to complain and all the said is "oh Ill tell the chef" nothing about making it right at all.
I won't order from here ever again.
Again yall messed up and are making no offer to correct it.
Not the same with new owners. Large portions, good food, but all tastes the same.
This a very great Restaurant of Thailand food to dine in please come check them out to eat, then you will know what I'm talking about to eat...#1
The food here is so DELICIOUS ! I ordered the combo Pad Thai and the fried Gyoza (both full of flavor) and when I say I couldn’t stop smiling, I MEAN IT! I appreciate how the food was plated too. I must mention the customer service here was very pleasant as well. I’m recommending this location to everyone.
Finally tried this quaint restaurant out and we were not disappointed. We did use DoorDash, but the food was still delivered quickly. The food was delicious. We will definitely eat from here again.
Be mindful that they have new owners and their menu changed. So if you've ever been here before, they no longer have a lot of the items that was with the old owners about a month or 2 ago. I'm so sad. Food is good. Nothing to rave about.
The food here is not great. We ordered the drunken noodles and they were bland and had soggy noodles. The portion size was also little for the price.
Nothing to fancy or to expensive a nice hole in the wall place in terry town with noodles so good I will definitely be back the sauce absolutely flawless I also really enjoyed the Thai tea perfect blend surely to catch you off guard the new owners are so polite I’m happy to come back any time I’m in the area
Best Thai food in tbe GNO!
The best PAd Tai in Louisiana HANDS DOWN! The Tam Kha is a must try.
I’ve been a patron of this restaurant for the past 3 years and everything I’ve had from a taste of Thailand was excellent. There are vegan options and there are dishes to try if you’re not too crazy about spicy food. I’ve always had a great experience even with take out due to Covid restrictions.
overall:
very good food, decent portions, dine-in (as of this review) and take out, prices are more like $$ (not $) for entrees, imported shrimp, good variety of menu options.
pro:
- we had chicken satay, green curry, and pad thai. the flavor of everything was wonderful and spot on!
- the menu has lots to choose from.
- you could dine in. there was no information on expected protocol via signage other than masks are required for entry. we just masked until food arrived and unmasked to eat.
- decent food arrival time.
- staff were friendly and helpful.
- we will come back!
- so good, i'll say it again: the food taste was fantastic! the flavoring and combination of ingredients was superb!
- decent decor.
con:
- not sure if this is pandemic related, but the menu is just printed copy paper stapled at the top corner. at these prices, i would expect a bit more panache.
- again, this could be pandemic related (lack of kitchen staff?), but we were given plastic takeaway utensils with our meal and styrofoam cups with no lids for our beverage. again--with entree prices running from $8.95 - $15.95, don't put little plastic bags of utensils in front of me and a dopey styrofoam cup. if the pandemic is causing these cost cutting measures--put a small note in the menu or post a sign letting people know. times are really hard right now. if this is the case, people will cut you some slack.
- would much prefer to have eaten local shrimp. no indication of this was seen on the menu. state law requires notification. hopefully they had a posted sign somewhere. but this is something you really shouldn't hide. this restaurant could really gain some loyal customers and more business if they used local seafood and then bragged about it.
- entree prices were steep enough to cause us to visit not nearly as often as we'd like; no way to bring the whole family. if the entrees were $1-2 less, that would be much more reasonable. maybe offer a large and small version of the same entree at different price points?
- restrooms could use some updating and attention.
- table was wobbly--minor thing, but details matter!
**note: yes, it seems like there are lots of cons, but the place still gets 4 stars because of the wonderful food balancing the other stuff out.**
**marketing suggestion: post a picture somewhere of one of the last guys who caught your shrimp and a little blurb about them. "this is claude b. he's a third generation shrimp boat captain. his boat--the lucky hammer--is named for... etc." swap it out every month or so. people would really love this kind of thing!!**
Horrible service
Awesome
Bad communication, practices, ethics, attitudes, food is subpar. Edit: You are not sorry bad business ethics have nothing to do with rehire. Do better. I'm not mad I'm blessed.
For the food, this restaurant gets a 5 star rating. Food has so much flavor. Love their pad thai. Their fried fish I delicious, sadly they were out today when I wanted to order it. I give it a 4 star rating because I feel like they need maybe 2 waiters since there were lots of tables and just 1 waiter. The restaurant is really cold and they have the fan on and its winter. They ran out of bowls and small spoons for our soup to share. Overall had a good dining experience since the food is delicious.
Amazing people and Amazing food. I love the pineapple fried rice and the cashew Chicken is the BEST!!!!
Spice basil fried rice was really good. Staff was friendly. Unassuming place with good food.
The food was not good. I love Thai food and in the last two months I have eaten in 4 different Thai restaurants; will not return. I ordered for pick up the young lady was really nice but the food was a no go. My husband was not happy with his meal as well. Sorry!
An hour wait on food and customer service was poor.
Omgggg. The Nam Tok. (Beef salad) is absolutely to die for. I ordered one for lunch and ordered two more additional to go. The cashew chicken is super juicy and good flavor. I also had the baked green mussels and those were delicious too .. it’s so good I already went back today and ordered Togo.
The lady who runs the place is so sweet and also lived in Germany so she enjoys when people speak with her in Thai and German ❤️ I wish I would have tried this soon and I wish it was in a better location so people could see it and enjoy it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had the basil fried rice and a ginger steamed fish one time and another time the pad thai and crispy spring rolls. The basil fried rice was amazing! So flavorful! The absolute best fried rice I've had in a long time. The ginger fish was good but it could not compare to the rice. The pad thai noodles with shrimp were a bit too spicy for me to handle. I should have told them to make it mild. The spring rolls were good and tasty.
Authentic and family owned. I absolutely love this place!
I really like this place. Had the taste of Thailand Tom yum soup. Very nice, perfect spice. The chicken satay with peanut sauce was amazing. So is the Thia tea. Never very crowded which is a shame because it really is a gem.
Their food was delicious and the portions were generous. We loved it and will definitely be back!
Had the pad kee mow (drunken noodles) with seafood. Was spicy and good flavor, with mussels, shrimp, etc.
Real good
Very tasty!!!
Great place and if your into new things give curry a try
Food is better than described. Nothing is wrong with the descriptions of the food... it's just that words don't do it justice
I love this place and i haven't even gone, I discovered it with uber eats and I loved it. Try the coconut curry. Absolutely delicious
I loved the food and the waiters and staff were so kind.
