Taste of Thai is in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Come and try our Thai food today.
10.16.2024: We ended up at this restaurant after the restaurant we went to was randomly closed. We hadn’t been here before and my husband was craving Thai food. I am so glad the other restaurant was closed. The service was fast and friendly but the star was the food. My husband got the Pad Thai and it was good. I got the Massaman Curry and “oh my god” literally came out of my mouth when I tasted that curry. I had my husband try it and he said the same thing. No joke! We sat there and continued to eat. My husband asked for another taste (Actually more than one). After a bite he said “I think that is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten.” I hadn’t wanted to be dramatic but when he said that I instantly agreed. The depth of flavor in that curry was insane. I have never tasted anything that built up with flavor like that. When we were leaving he jokingly said “want to go again tomorrow”.
The food was great and came out fast. I have not had mango sticky rice that good since I was in Phucket.
I got mild green curry, mango sticky rice the mangoes were the perfect ripeness and pad Thai to go.
Serving sizes were also great I left very full and took half my curry home.
I've driven by this place for years, but tonight afforded me the opportunity to dine in with my son...the fish cake appetizers were quite good with a unique lime and chili flavor....I had the Thai fried rice (excellent flavor and spice) while my son had the chicken curry (excellent flavor, maybe a bit spicy for his taste).....the food and service are top notch, while the restaurant itself could benefit from a "face lift".....it does present itself as *quaint"......
Stopped by before seeing a movie at the Lexington Movie Theatre. Such a friendly place, great food and quick enough to make our showtime. Loved it!! Recommend the Pad Thai with chicken.
Really loved having lunch at Taste of Thai! The food was fresh, hot and came out quickly! Their Tom Kha soup is some of the best I’ve had anywhere and was loaded with veggies and shrimp. Absolutely loved their Pad Woon Sen-stir fry glass noodles as well, which had a savory charred flavor and came with a side of rice and plenty of veggies. Highly recommend this place for a great authentic Thai meal!

We stopped in for a bite to eat after running around Lexington. The pad Thai was good!
Very good Thai food. Real Thai experience. Great taste and healthy ingredients.
The food arrived super fast and was top notch.
My friend spent time in Thailand and learned the language. He took me to this restaurant and we were very pleased with the food there. Nice place!

My girlfriend got the pad Thai and I got the pad woon sen. The food was really greasy unfortunately and we couldn’t finish. We ate this about an hour and a half ago and now my girlfriend is really nauseous and feels like throwing up. Really disappointed…

Food was okay. The Taste was okay. Not authentic Thai Food. The restaurant is downtown and not enough parking.
The chicken pad Thai is completely perfect and so delicious! I eat here at least once a week! The staff is amazing, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is so welcoming and calming!! Thank you!
Very authentic and delicious Thai food. When you order your food “Thai spicy” it comes that way, and I love it.
I order from here through Uber eats way too often, and hands down this is the best Thai restaurant in town. I wish the food wasn’t so good here because I keep spending all of my money in exchange for their chicken drunken noodles and steamed dumplings. It’s just not fair! I work so hard for my money, and yet I keep giving a significant portion of my check to this delicious restaurant just so they’ll stay open and continue to cook! 5 STARS!
Worth a visit! The menu is very costumizable, service is great and the food…We had an absolutely delicious green curry chicken!!
The food was great and came out fast. I have not had mango sticky rice that good since I was in Phucket.
I got mild green curry, mango sticky rice the mangoes were the perfect ripeness and pad Thai to go.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend. Upon arriving with our service animal we stood there for almost 5 minutes before anyone spoke to us. She then said i only have carry out no tables available. There were 2 tables open. So we left and then I decided to call the restaurant And I asked if they took reservations or had any tables available for two and they said yes I can seat you right now. So it was obvious they didn't want us in there restaurant because we had a service animal with us. Shame on them.
I walked in and placed an order to go. Chose the Pad Khing with Chicken (stir fried ginger) with extra garlic based on server recommendations. Food was prepared super quickly (5mins) and was very tasty. Very well balanced flavor, light and healthy.
Such great fun service. The best chicken Pad Thai I have ever had and I have had a lot of them all around the world!! I could not recommend it more.
Terrible. Pad Thai inedible. Very disappointed
Great Panang curry. Restaurant is perfect with friendly staff
Service was so horrible I couldn't enjoy the food. These people are unhappy at their job and lives and take it out on customers this place is a horrible experience for lunch or dinner
Ordered the panang curry with beef…eggplant in the description but no eggplant in the dish. It was still good, but I’m disappointed.
It taste like Thai
Wonderful food and the restaurant was packed when I went in to get my take out. Everyone was super nice and this will always be a stop I make when I’m in town.
Good quality, reasonably priced Thai. I enjoyed the drunken noodles - it was well prepared and in line with some of the best I have had. I am reasonably tolerant of spice/heat and, knowing Thai food, ordered the medium. For me, that was just right - enough to make me sweat but not enough to detract from enjoying the food. Ambiance is hole-in-the-wallish, also in line with some of the best.
Great food! We ordered red curry beef and fried rice both HOT!!! The spiciness was wonderful and the food was flavorful!!! Wish I had pics but we ate all the food so fast!!
One of the best meals I have experienced! Perfect blend of flavorings in Cashew Tofu and Pineapple Fried Rice. Soft music, fast service. On street or in garage parking.
I've missed Thai food as I'm from Somerset by way of California, but this place had the most tasty food and service. We took orders back home for my sister 👍
Love this place. Very good drunken noodle, pad thai, friend rice.
My favorite so far: Tom Kha soup + beef salad. Authentic thai cuisine. good stuff
I got the Kahn Chicken and it had two pieces of chicken in it and a few veggies and the rest was broth.
I’ve eaten at every Thai place in Lex, and this place is my favorite. Drunken noodles are fiiiirrrrreeeee. Been my go to for years and hope they never change.
The customer service was excellent!
Delicious crispy cheese and pineapple fried rice!!!
The Best Thai Food in downtown I love Pad Thai and Fried rice so juicy and tasty … Love it
Place is solid. Reliable clean. Feels like a cheap Chinese joint inside but the food comes out gourmet. Wouldn’t be a bad first date place
The food was great friendly staff great atmosphere I recommend the place to anyone that loves good tai food
Great Thai food in downtown Lexington, KY. My go-to Thai restaurant whenever I’m in town.
Very nice people and delicious, fresh food. I ordered the panang curry with chicken and it was perfect!
Delicious. Good spice level. I will try again
Highly recommended: located centrally, clean and friendly environment, most importantly, the food is great! I had spring rolls with sauces and loved them
Really loved having lunch at Taste of Thai! The food was fresh, hot and came out quickly! Their Tom Kha soup is some of the best I’ve had anywhere and was loaded with veggies and shrimp. Highly recommend this place for a great authentic Thai meal!
Excellent service and even better food.
I have yet to have a bad meal here! Fast and friendly service, honestly the best restaurant in Lexington imo!
Some of the best food I've ever had. Drunken noodles are phenomenal, and food is fast & hot dining in or delivery. I didn't get his name, but host is extremely nice and has great recommendations
Delicious; Good prices; Served fresh and Fast! Very friendly staff. The Drunken Noodles: AMAZING!
Everything we ordered was sooooo good!!! This is the best authentic thai restaurant we ever had!
Our first time ordering here, and won’t be the last. We ordered thai green tea, thai tea, tom kha, pad woon sen, and basil fried rice. We asked everything for extra spicy.
Tasty, flavorful, excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Don’t know how to explain it, but you guys MUST try! won’t be disappointed ‼️
Delicious food cooked by an authentic Thai family. Drew was a super friendly server. Even all the regulars made us feel very welcomed. Ordered the Tom Kah which is difficult to make well and the way Jennifer cooked it, knocked it out of the park. And the pad see ew was as authentic in its flavours as it gets. Definitely recommend and definitely will come back!
This was a great place for dinner. We had the drunken noodles and the pad Thai. Both were excellent dishes served, hot and fresh. I highly recommend!!
Always a great selection.
My favorite Thai place in lexington. They fly back to Thailand to get ingredients. Could not be more legit.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Lexington! The drunken noodles are outstanding and probably the best I've ever had. The pad Thai is also great. Prices feel very reasonable, and we always get two meals out of each entree. I always request my dish to be spicy and they deliver (but without absolutely drowning out the flavors with spice). Truly perfect.
We’re on Vacation … and looking some Thai food for lunch. Red curry was tasty and my Shrimp pad thai so good 😊
立地が最高。味はタイ人好みに合わせているのか、私には辛さや匂いが少しきつかった。

Let me tell you if this place had closed due to covid I would've mourned. Because it is the best Thai food you'll ever eat.
It's nestled on the cornered, small inside, but has an attached extra room. Always clean and the owner--bless her heart is the sweetest lady.
The pad Thai is out of this world, but I also recommend the won ton soup. Especially if it's cold or if allergies are getting you down. The iced green tea she makes is also tasty.
So please go show support! They deserve it.
Been coming here for a couple of years. These guys have the best Thai food! So fresh and authentic to the culture. If you love spicy just ask. If you want a substitution they're usually able to oblige. This is one of Lexington's best kept secrets.
This place has good food. I had a red curry chicken entree in coconut milk with basil. They exchanged the vegetables that usually comes with the meal for broccoli. It was good.
The unfortunate thing I witnessed was seeing them send more than one party away for seated dining. They were informed they were only taking to go orders. Both parties walked out. More than an hour before closing. Understaffed and I heard the kitchen staff wanted to go home. WOW!!!
Not really fair to the gentleman waiting tables. His income is decreased also the restaurant lost sales. Not fair to the guests that wasted their time and gas to get there One party had at least 4 hungry potential customers.
I watched amazed how customers were sent away to appease kitchen staff.
I'm sure the restaurant would be just fine if you arrived during a time that wasn't busy. We happened to be there during a large convention. There are only a handful of tables (about 6), one of which was in a separate room for a large group (maybe 10 people). Needless to say, all the tables were taken. We found some outdoor seating at a bar around the corner that allowed us to eat there. Again, the restaurant was tiny. They had one employee working the front (waiter, bus boy, cashier, everything) and I think only one person was working on the back (cook, dish washer, etc). We could see the place was busy, so we asked what the approximate wait would be before we ordered. The waiter said 30-40 minutes. We do realize this is not a science but a simple estimation. It took more that 1.5 hours to get our food. Eating at the bar ended up being terrible. We were down wind from all the smokers at the bar. Eventually a homeless man that clearly had schizophrenia sat near us. He was continuously talking to himself in aggressive language. He scared the kids so we had to exit quickly before everyone was done eating. The food was good, but not phenomenal. My curry was served scalding hot (temperature not spiciness). I burned my tongue pretty good. The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were both good but not nearly the best I've had. I also heard from others that this place was just as busy before the convention started. That being said, the food was not worth the wait. Maybe I'd consider coming again if I had lots of time, and I knew I'd be ordering to pickup and eat at
home. Otherwise, I'd probably not come back.
Omg! Great food!! Definitely coming back soon here for 11 days. Friendly staff too 🥰
Delicious food and great service
Excellent quality, authentic dishes. They allow you to chose the heat of spices.
Great food, charming staff, relaxing atmosphere!
Super delicious! Drunken noodles and best I've ever had. Spiciness was perfect 👌
Wonton soup broth and 2 mushy wontons flavorless. Fried spring rolls flavorless. Pad See-ew and Panang curry were ok. Overall disappointing.
Yummy
I love tom yum soup, thai hot. They did not disappoint Some places make it hot but without a good taste.
I simply love Thai food. After the Northern Thai place on Versailles road closed and Siam Thai closed, I was afraid I would no longer have high quality Thai available in Lexington. I tried numerous Thai places and was dissatisfied. Presently this is the only local Thai food that I, as a vegetarian, can recommend.
Good place right in the middle of downtown with very reasonable prices!
Very nice people. Excellent service!
I got red curry with chicken and chicken fried rice.
The curry was the best I've ever had and I have eaten at 30 plus Thai restaurants.
Noodles in pad see ew were essentially a paste, overcooked and clumped together making the dish very unappetizing. Huge chunks of onions in it as well, which typically isn't served in this dish.
Disappointing because it is one of my favorite dishes. The sauce was also had a horrible aftertaste. Service was also less than favorable.
Got the green curry with shrimp and it was absolutely delicious, shrimp was cooked perfectly and plenty of veggies! I asked for spicy and it was actually pretty spicy, although she said it comes spicy already so I'm not sure if it was any hotter because I asked. Will definitely be returning.
Delicious!
The food was delicious, but the lady serving could not have cared less about my business. I had to serve myself drinks, I had to walk up to the counter to order because she just sat there, and her overall attitude was of total indifference. But again, delicious food.
The lady who served me was nice and sweet and the green curry is super delicious. Very clean. I will definitely be back.
Very good food. Very busy place so service could be slow. Enjoy
Never are open when it says on Google that you're open.
Amazing Thai!!!!!!
We have been frequenting this little gem for more years than I can count. It was my daughter's graduation dinner choice and although the place seemed busy with takeout we were the only patrons in the restaurant which was perfect! If you like the Thai favorites you will definitely not be disappointed. Grab the Thai Tea also. The owner has always made our visits wonderful. Thank you
The best Thai food in Lexington.
Fantastic Customer service! For the price you are getting a steal because it tastes wonderful AND they give you more than enough. Very happy I tried this place.
Ginger chicken meal w/ rice was excellent
Food was great. If they just gave the customers some heat!
Great Food, fast service
I got the chicken pad thai hot of course..its the best pad thai in Lexington. Big portions too!
Great location and customer service! Unfortunately they were out of many menu items at the time of our visit. Food was still good.
I went to this restaurant and ordered a mild order of drunken noodles. The presentation was absolutely off the chart and I had expected to get back to work with a very good lunch meal. Unfortunately appearance did not equal taste. The noodles that they had used had clearly been overcooked. I was not impressed.
Couldn't ask for any better. The staff was awesome, and the food was even better! Will definitely be back
Delicious! Made me miss my favorite restaurant back in Chicago, which is a great thing! (I was temped to return again for more Pad See Ew the next day.)
My husband and I ate here for the first time after a friend had recommended it. Delicious! The best Thai food we’ve had in a long time. The lady at the counter gave us samples! Please support them! They’re amazing!
Absolutely genuine Thai. Taste great with excellent service. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.
Really polite and friendly service. A very intimate space. The egg rolls are delicious!! Yummy meal, though I wish more rice came with the curry entree.
Small restaurant with family run atmosphere.(which is what I like cause I’m always eating out alone lol)
Walked in for Mas....something curry, egg roll and Jasmine tea for lunch.
Friendly customer service and food was really nice. There aren’t many tables inside so if you’re in large group, I would call them first....
My favorite Thai place! The food is never a let down and it's usually quite and peaceful.
Excellent food and friendly service - we did the family style thing, so we got to try some curry, some noodles, spring rolls, and other dishes. Not only was everything delicious, but the owner was warm, friendly, and hospitable. It felt more like my friend was sharing their family recipes with me than that I was at a restaurant.
Quaint place with delicious fare! The waitress (Jenny) was really friendly and accommodating, especially given that we had an uncharacteristically-grumpy toddler in tow. Jenny brought a small plate of rice while we were waiting for our food and that thoughtfulness sated the toddler for that time. We decided to eat “family style” so everyone got a taste of lots of dishes. The pineapple curry was a new one on me and delicious; we ordered it with chicken. Our group of four adults and one tiny grump was well fed and VERY happy. No liquors or mixed drinks (random guy at another table seemed disappointed that he couldn’t order a margarita...) but they do have beer. Great food and service.
I love the pad thai at this place, spiciness at any level you order and yum yum yummy!
Not the best Thai place in Lexington, but not bad for a quick grab of some Pad Thai.
I have heard some stuff about the cleanliness about this place but I haven't had any experience myself. Last I checked, they had a cleanliness score of around 95 or something.
I have had Pad thai here once. The quantity is less for the price you pay.
I also feel the price is a little expensive than other Thai places in Lexington.
But I would give 4-stars to the Drunken Noodles - It's a different rice noodle than Pad Thai. Four stars, because I like and I haven't seen this in other Thai places.
Everything else is average.
Great service! Very friendly. One dish was really good but the other one was okay. Would definitely come back again!
Love this place.
Delicious food, reasonable prices, and a very cute downtown location. Very friendly waiter (seen in one of the pictures), and the chef accommodated request for no cilantro in any of the dishes. All dishes were made fresh to order, and had different heat levels per request.
Yummy
Went here for a quick lunch--I've been driving past this place for years so glad to finally stop and try it. I ordered their panang curry which was very tasty and spicy. The place itself is small and somewhat of a dump, but the wait staff was friendly enough. I'd love to return and try more!
Taste could be stronger for Thai food. Portion tend to be small. Service is good. USD15-20 for a meal.
Wonderful
Looking for Thai food in a new town is tough. Taste of Thai is downtown. No parking and difficult to even get takeout. The dish I had was tasteless and sauce that should have been creamy was watery.
Absolutely delicious. Most authentic Thai food I have had in Lexington. My boyfriend loves it and he spend almost a year in Thailand
Terrible service.. ordered extra chicken in Pad thai and there were four small chunks, had to argue to get more (even after paying the up charge). Would not recommend.
Amazing food. The proprietor is wonderful.
So good. Open late fridays too
So much for southern hospitality. About 5 minutes after we arrived a lady came out of the back & asked if we were doing takeout and we said yes & she said ok it will be about 45 minutes & we were like ok. Then she went back in the back. Cane back out a few minutes later and one of the people who was there when we arrived wanted to pay, so she took care of him & we were fine with waiting as we already had for over 10 minutes until she rudely goes “you have to wait, I have a big table”. Insert side eye. Girl bye.
Great food decent price nice selection. Good service. Conversation in this ambiance is easy.
Great food!! Better service!!!
Food was great and hot.
I love this place. The food is fabulous. The owners are very friendly and pleasant. The prices are very reasonable. The place is cozy, quiet and comfortable. Do yourself a favor and make this a regular stop for great food.
Delicious!
First time here and will be back. Started with and egg roll. They were so good I ordered another...then another. The dipping sauce they come with is equally incredible. Moved on to the red curry which was also outstanding; Be prepared for heat, but nothing overwhelming. Overall the food is fresh, flavorful, and well prepared.
Very good selection and food quality.
Great atmosphere and food! Forgot I was downtown for a little while...
A lot of good options on the menu as well as amazing Thai tea. The service is fast and the price is great for the food you get. Definitely a place to stop by for authentic Thai food.
Consistently good.
Pad Thai was so good! 12/10
