Traditional Thai dishes, soups, & small plates in a relaxed setting with ample outdoor seating.
Pretty good food for a great price point. The food was flavorful and the proportion was huge (a lot of rice for the pork salad and shrimp+herbs). My favorite had to be the special pork basil with fried egg. Be patient when ordering, when we finally got to try the place, it was just one staff. We’ll definitely be back.
Side note: My husband and I have been wanting to try Nat’s for a while. It just never seemed to be in our cards. Last week, we tried coming on two separate ocassions in the evening (around 7pm) but they were closed both days. I checked their Facebook/Google page to see if I misread the time but it seems they were randomly closed.
I rarely go out for Thai food because, since I'm Thai, I pretty much cook Thai at home. Friends, however, often ask me for recommendations, and I think Nat's will have to be at the top of my list from now on. We went for the first time recently, and my husband has not stopped talking about going back. He got the Kobe beef and basil and loved it. I got Tom ka shrimp and a Thai papaya salad that was just wonderful. Since we were the only ones there and decided to wait for our food to be cooked, we chatted with everyone working there including Nat. They were friendly, generous, conversational and super interesting. I have no doubts we will be back. Highly recommend that all Lexingtonians try this place at least once.
NAT's, a downtown Lexington self-named Thai takeout, nestled between McCarthy's Irish Bar and Harvey's, serves some of the most delicious dishes we've tasted.
Nat (chef and owner) overcomes the equipment challenges by preparing mostly curry and soup dishes (known as "Kao Geang" ). That Kobe basil is on point. The Tom Yum gai is authentically sour and spicy, perfect for a fall night out.
Inspired by unique ingredients, he never stops serving innovative and probably one-time dishes, like the Watermelon curry chicken.
Though the restaurant doesn't have its own dining room, his customers can enjoy the dishes in the outdoor seating area that's shared with the Irish Bar.
The best food i have ever had. Kobe beef is my new favorite dish of all time. BEAUTIFUL. THANKYOU FOR EXISTING.
We love Nat's! If you find yourself enjoying the Irish Public House next door (McCarthy's), you can just ask your friendly bartender for a menu. The staff of Nat's will come over, take your oder, and even bring it to you! How convenient is that? They share a lovely back patio with McCarthy's so grab a pint, some grub, and enjoy a little piece of heaven in downtown Lexington!
If you opt to get it to go, they will box it up for you. I suggest the pad thai. It's beautifully balanced between sweet sauce and warm peanuts is definitely something to write home about!
Got an order of fish and chips delivered next door to McCarthy’s while watching the UK game. The portion was decent - 3 small pieces of fish and fries filling most of the rest of the box - and the quality was good. At $12 I feel it may have been a couple dollars overpriced, but it’s a great service to have delivery next door, and I’d be curious to try their Thai food!
The food was top notch was visiting out of town from Boston place was cheap service was friendly and very fast would highly recommend

I came in from out of town and a friend took me there. A total hole in the wall, but I have to say: SOME OF THE BEST THAI FOOD IVE EVER EATEN. Perhaps even the absolute best. If you don't like spicy, you'll need to ask for it less spicy.
Amazing spot.
Definitely THE best Thai food in Lexington, hold on let me rephrase that, THE BEST THAI FOOD IN KENTUCKY.
Best Thai food in town!!!
Absolutely delicious!!!
never open when they say there open
Nat's is probably the most authentic and best Thai in Lexington and may be for a large surrounding area. I've had a lot of Thai food and Nat makes some of the best. It's spicy, no doubt about that, but the flavor is markedly better than other places. He has a different special almost every day so there's plenty of variety for repeat visits. Highly recommended.
NAT's is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant in town, but I don't really consider Nat's a restaurant. Nat is an amazing chef that make the best Thai food that anyone could have the pleasure of eating right here in downtown Lex. The food is always spot on delicious and fresh. The places is relatively small but Nat's carry out operation spares no expense when it comes to quality. There is a persistent menu as well as daily specials. I have never been let down by Nat's. A true gem in Lexington. I don't give 5 stars very often, but Nat's deserves every star. Thank you.
I am only leaving a review because the rating is clearly too high. Food is not bad for the price. However people are rude and not sanitary.
Says they are open on google and their website, yet show up at 12:45pm on a Thursday and the door is locked with no one working or any visible hours of operation. Very disappointing.
Stopped by at 235 pm and it was closed. Won't make a special trip again if they can't be there during posted hours.

Amazing food! An absolute hidden gem in Lexington. Cannot go wrong with the Kobe basil or Nats wings!

Always great! Nat never fails!
Delicious food! Just don't send your friends who are scared of anything spicy. Very friendly and helpful!

Nat's is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. His specials are always amazing.
It’s just so-so. There are a lot better Thai restaurants in town. I ordered Kobe Basil and Tom Yum soup to go. But when I got home, the soup was not Tom Yum soup. It was just spicy chicken soup (their Soup of the day). When they took order, they didn’t even ask for spicy level or confirm the order properly. Seems like they just gave me whatever soup they got. Very disappointed. Definitely won’t go back there again.
Best Thai food in the city.
Hands down. Nat is a lovely man who really knows his stuff.
I have to resist eating there every day!!
Always great. Git Kobe basil beef and spicy wings
Did not know this place existed until my friend who's visiting from NYC told me to meet there. They do have dine in seating but you need to get in from Irish Bar and walk to the backyard to get 3 table that's available for Nat's. Food was amazing, 100% authentic Thai food. There's no better Thai food in Lexington. This will be our go to place for Thai food. Amazing stuff ❤️❤️❤️
I have ate at Nat's for many years I can honestly say it's the best Thai food that I have ever had in the state!! The food is freshly made in front of you 💯. And he will spice it however you like it I like mine a little less spicy 🔥 if you've never ate here I would highly recommend it I promise you you will go back.
This place is always great, one of our favorite restaurants in Lex. The Kobe Beef is a must try!
Unassumingly delicious. Multiple dishes were spicy, great if you like that, warning if you don't. Would legit rank this as some of the best food in Lexington.
Best Thai food in town. I recommend their tofu basil.
Best Thai food in town by a long shot.
Really delicious food with some heat!
Probably the best Thai food available in Lexington, and it's almost literally a hole in the wall. Sit at the bar next door and enjoy your food and a beer.
Some of the best Thai I've had and love the hidden nature of Nat's!
Best thai in Lex
Had one of my best meals here. Hole in the wall, family run place that shares the patio with the Irish pub next door. The owner wasn’t overly friendly but he told us to order the Kobe basil and he was spot on. Amazing flavors with some heat too. The pad Thai was also delicious, love the egg that covered it. I’ve traveled to Thailand many times and eat at Thai restaurants in many cities, and these flavors rivaled even the best. Don’t miss this place!!
Some of the best food in Lexington! Can't get enough of this place and their specials. Such a delicious eatery.
Nat makes delicious, creative dishes. I almost always try his specials,
and am never disappointed. I've been known to eat at Nat's as much as
three times in a week. When he goes to Thailand for a month on vacation,
I'm lost.
A little hard to find. But delicious food. Their egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had.
So good. I highly recommend the Kobe Basil Beef. I also suggest calling beforehand to make sure they're open.
Can’t recommend the Kobe Basil enough!
This is one of the very few authentic Thai place in Lexington. Nat himeself cooks the food. They are not open on all the days. So it's better to call him and check if they are open. I have been disappointed a lot of times when I would go there and find it closed.
He also has a facebook page where he regularly updates if the restaurant is open or closed. Nat's has a daily special and it's usually ~$13 with taxes. All the specials have their unique taste and it's a must try.
I have been here so many times since it's close to work and I believe I have tried all of the specials. I like the non-special dish 'Kobe-basil' more than any of his other dishes. These days I just get the Kobe-basil without even looking at the other dishes. But my friend always gets the special and he likes it. So it's just my personal preference.
One of the disadvantages is that they don't have a place to sit and eat. However you can sit at the neighboring bar (McCarthy's) where they would bring you your dish, but I recommend ordering to-go and eat it at home or at your work-place. But if you also feel like drinking some beer while munching on some authentic spicy Thai food, eating at McCarthy's isn't a bad choice.
Sometimes I plan my whole day around the Kobe basil.
Great Tai food! We will definitely come back to work our way thru the menu. And we get to eat our Tai dinner in an Irish bar(McCarthy's) on S Upper Street.
Spice fest. Real good food at affordable prices. They really know how to spice it up. Pro tip, the wings here are a hidden secret.
Great thai food but not always easy to know when he's randomly closed..
Not clean, flies flying around, the food smelled and tasted bad, not well cooked, and it costs ~10$ per dish
Delicious food
Absolutely the best Thai food for miles around.
NAT'S is awesome!! First time there I had the Kobe basil beef, fantastic! Would recommend to anyone eating downtown.
Fantastic food. Friendly and informative staff. The flavors and spice level were impressive. Definitely worth checking out.
I cannot adequately review this place as I haven't been here. I did try to go but they were closed because the hours are not convenient. It's also very hard to find if you aren't a local but I have heard the food is good. Wish I could have experienced it. Maybe next time.
Great value and food from Nat's! Owner is committed to serving a great product every time, and as others have mentioned if you like spicy food you've found a winner.
Excellent Thai dishes. Somewhat unreliable on business hours but worth the effort.
If you like it spicy, prepare to be satisfied. When they say spicy they mean it.
Place is great when they're open! I've tried several times to order from there around noon time and no answer. Go by and they're closed. No consistent hours at all! Frustrating!

Incredible food! A taste explosion in your mouth! Yum!
Don't how
Delicious food which can be consumed at the Irish bar next door or at a nearby public park.
We love Nat's! If you find yourself enjoying the Irish Public House next door (McCarthy's), you can just ask your friendly bartender for a menu. Get the wings and the special, trust me.
Nat's is my favorite food experience in Lexington. You order your food -- the daily special is always different and always unique -- and you eat it at the Irish pub, McCarthy's, or on the patio out back. I recommend you get a Black and Tan or a Guinness, especially if you get your food spicy. And grab dessert or a coffee/tea and Failte.
Only ate their once, downtown area,by the big hole, between main & upper, little parking on the street, to go only, food is prettu good!
Want authentic Thai food? Look no further. Nat's food is incredible. Wings and Kobe Basil are my favorites and are amazing. Recommend going for an early dinner, grab a beer at McCarthy's, and they can page Nat to take your order. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.
All I can say is "WOW"!!!!!! This place is amazing. Best Thai food I have ever had! You order your food, and then move over to the Irish bar where you can sit and the owner will deliver your food over there. We were one of just a few patrons for lunch the other day, and the owner came and talked with us as we were eating, telling us about his cooking philosophy. He's a true artist and chef with his food....never duplicating daily specials. The day we were there I ordered the special of ground pork with pepper sauce. It was amazing. My wife had a light and refreshing shrimp dish. I cannot wait to go back to Lexington to have Nat's again. I'm a customer for life - and you should be too.
This is the best Thai food I've ever had in my life. It's tucked away in the alley and very easy to miss. It's takeout only, so I usually just bring it back to my apartment. But what they lack in store front, they more than make up for in flavor. I usually get the special which changes every day, and it's always superb. If I'm not feeling the special, kobe beef is an old standby. And don't miss the egg rolls. So crispy and delicious. To top things off, the place is run by an exceptionally pleasant family. I actually eat there so often, they know me. I always order the food extremely spicy, and they love to up the spice game. Several times, they've even given me a Carolina reaper with my order.
You can check their Facebook page for the daily special.
Surprisingly good food at a very hidden and unknown place. There’s no seating, but you can eat and order from the Irish bar next door, so that makes this place even better. The food so far has been some of the best Thai I’ve ever had. They do get extremely busy and are out of items some times, but the taste makes up for those negatives
Awesome
Most authentic Thai food in town. This owner is a one man show. Food was excellent.
Order take out because there is no place to sit but worth every possible moment
Pricey, loud ... there have been better eating establishment in this venue.
Best thai in Lexington, no question. Can be incredibly spicy.
Simply the best.
Best Thai in Lex.
I can't flippin' believe that I have been missing out on this food! I must come back until I try every dish. Monday through Friday they have daily specials, check them out on Facebook at Nat's Lexington. Tonight we had egg rolls and Kobe Basil. Although they do not make the egg rolls, I would have sworn that they were homemade. Each bite was a pleasure. When you bite into a normal commercial egg roll, the cabbage strings out and is hard to bite through. Not with this roll. Each bite comes off cleanly. Now the Kobe Basil......Sweet...Glorious...Butter Soaked...Mad Lovin' Mother of God is this good!!!!! "Normal" heat level may be a bit rich for most but trust me it is perfectly balanced. This is NOT your normal Thai food. There are herbs at play here that are forgein to my palate. Such a beautiful play between heat and herb/spice. I am positive that no better Thai food exist in Lexington, KY. Final note - do not come here and rate this food against Americanized Thai food. If you do you show your lack of experience. Thank you for being part of our Community Sir and Crew.
But seriously folks Best Thai Restaurant in the area! Most Authentically created dishes that I have had .Things like ! Durian special with chicken mussseman curry. Fried Mackerel with special dipping sauces that will blow your mind! Fried Whole Tilapia topped with fresh limes cilantro , lemongrass and mint!! Fresh products that are bursting with flavors in your mouth💋 If you love authentic Hot Thai food you have to try this out. I highly recommend💖 They have a very small kitchen and limited staff...so have a little patience it is worth a wait💞💕💖
Best Thai food in town by far
The food here is always amazing.
Way too over priced, quality of food inferior, would never come back
Wife wanted it ..
Best Thai food in Lexington! Love that you can order from and eat in McCarthy's!
Best Thai food in town.
The kind of hole in the wall Thai food place you will come back to again and again. A gem.
Highly disappointed in the service. Last two times I've went there for lunch they refused to serve Pad Thai. Their excuse was because they were too busy. They told me to try in the evening. I don't think I've ever had this issue at any other restaurant. If they don't want to prepare Pad Thai they should remove it from the menu. I recommend you take your business to Business Bangkok House or Mai Thai where the people are much friendlier and willing to serve the item you order.
Usually better but they had no Pad Thai last time I was there. Service was a bit slower too.
It is NOT closed. A friend of mine had lunch there less than an hour ago. It is a small business and the owner/operator goes on vacation sometimes.
Great Thai food. Drunken noodles are fantastic.
Nats is the best tai food in Lexington hands down. The basil beef is the best dish.
Nats is the best Thai place in Lexington! Hands down. Fresh ingredients, fresh recipes. A very small place, best for take out or sitting behind the bar next door outside. Made to order dishes. Nat is very thorough with his cooking and he seems very passionate about the art of Thai cuisine.
Just had their wings and was blown away. This will be a regular place for me and my girlfriend to get carryout.
I love how hole in the wall this place is. There is no seating so you order and the guy brings you the food in the irish pub next door. Food is really good, I recommend the basil beef if you can handle spicy.
Best egg rolls in the land. I have not tried anything else tho.
