An exceptional Thai food restaurant of Wichita, on Webb Road and on the north side of Kellogg. For my first visit here, I was served by the nicest and most polite gentleman, which made my lunch extremely pleasant. I went with one of my favorite dishes, Pad Thai, and it had a savory and flavorful sauce, with loads of tender chicken and fresh sprouts. However, if ordering this Pad Thai again, I would request a lot more scallions and for the crushed peanuts be served on top since they are very fine here. The meal did conclude well with more kind service and a complimentary piece of delicious chocolate. With the comfortable setting in the dining area, the warming service from the staff, and overall satisfying food, I can recommend Promise and will certainly return to discover a five-star dish on the menu.

Customer service is over the top and food is really good! Thai tea is a must try. I got their Spicy Chicken Fried Rice. They had added condiments appropriately to get the spicy Thai taste. It was so good! Will be going back.

Also, my Thai iced tea was not very good. Will definitely never go back.

The employees even forgot my drink that I ordered until I had to come up to them. Do you not serve drinks first before your meal?

The chefs were not aware of the piece of plastic bag on top of my meal when they served it but it was ok at least it wasn’t worse like a hair. The curry was bland, more grease than spice and I’ve ordered the most spiciest level. The beef had the weirdest texture. The best part of the meal was the salad. After I went home, I had the urge to immediately throw up all of the food I just ate.

The establishment is not the cleanest. This old lady had a spray bottle for disinfecting tables and she sprayed a lot on the food and plates then let the chemicals sit on them. She did not even remove them and left to the kitchen without replacing gloves. Another employee had to go clean all the tables.

Always worth the trip to the east side! I always get the Drunken Man and it's always the best! Gast service and great food - doesn't get any better!

The best Ginger Chicken I have had in a long time! The chicken was so tender and buttery. The sauce was perfect and not too sweet. Highly recommend this Thai restaurant. Enjoy!

Prices way too high

Just not what it used to be... Just had dinner at Promise; Had the Chicken Sate, and a Red Curry w/Chicken. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectation (and previous experiences). The Chicken Sate was frozen / thawed in the microwave, and put on a grill (per the owner). It didn't taste fresh, nor smelled fresh, so I sent it back.. Unfortunately the good man started arguing with me that in over 20 years noone ever complained about his sate.... it just didn't taste well, what would you want me to say! To his credit, he took it off, but I didn't appreciate that he started to argue with me... he said a lot more. The penang curry, was meh.... it looked great, some chicken also in the curry were questionable, and frankly he ruined my apetite by arguing. Last time I will come here. Sorry.

Literally- one of my top favorite 3 restaurants in Wichita. Family run, authentic cuisine, clean, friendly, large portions, made to order. Pad Thai level 4 is hot & delicious. 5 is for those of us who really like it hot. Curry of all kinds is great- lots of fresh Thai basil leaves in most dishes- YUM Red seems to be hottest. Pad Thai is super. Lunch & dinner specials are a great $ deal Flavor Bombs in every plate. Nice place to dine or come in for take away. A++++

I was the only patron at 4pm, but my pad thai was made fresh to order. Perfectly sweet and spicy to my request, layered with fresh cut green onions, crunchy peanuts, and crispy bean sprouts.

Classic Christmas songs with children's choruses clashed with the rambling conversation of an Asian family that came in during my meal, but paired with my delicious Thai iced coffee dessert.

After clearing my plate and feeling gratitude for such a robust, flavorful meal in quaint setting, the gentleman who served me brought a full size Toblerone with my ticket. It reminded me of my dad, who lives overseas and with whom I haven't spent a Christmas in many years.

From out of town and was craving Thai. The food taste like water with peanut pieces. No spice. I had to add salt and pepper. The portions were very small for dinner. I did not get full and the prices were very high!!!! I cannot believe this place has almost 5stars. The staff sprayed Lysol on the tables and chairs and the smell was Soo strong I felt like I was eating Lysol..... I went at the end of business day so hopefully it is better at the start😬

Friendly husband and wife that have been around for years for a reason. I will always come here when I’m flying back in to ICT to see family. Massaman curry, red curry, tom kah kai, angel wings, pad thai… doesn’t matter what I order, never had a bad meal here.

Went in for the first time,...at 2:00 in the afternoon. The restaurant was dark,...no dining room lights on,....no customers either. Stood at the sign,...at the front door saying "Please wait to be seated". Could here pots banging in the kitchen,..but no one appeared. After 2 or 3 minutes,...a little man came in the front door behind me. I recognized him as a man seated in a car outside in the parking when I pulled up in front of the restaurant to park. He seated me,..and was friendly enough.
Brought me a menu and a glass of ice water. I ordered crab rangoon and a glass of iced tea. A few minutes later a woman in a hair net,...with a scowl on her face appeared at the table,...and slammed a small platter with 4 crab Rangoon, and a very tiny saucer of sweet and sour sauce down on the table in front of me and started to turn and walk away.
I asked her if I could get another saucer of sweet and sour sauce,...AND THAT WAS THE WRONG THING TO DO.
She got a bad look on her face and stated in broken english,... " That enough!!" That enough for you!" And started to leave again.
I said,....No,...I'm sorry,...but THAT NOT ENOUGH FOR ME." " I WILL NEED MORE SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE".
She snorted at me and soon came back with an identical miniature saucer of sweet and sour and slammed it down on the table,...never looked at me or said a word.
I said,..."Thank you." No response.
The rangoon was pretty good and so was the sauce. My tea was great. But to punish me,...she did not return to refill my tea,...so I had to get up from my table and walk up front to ask for a refill. Again,...a bad look,...and no words spoken by her,..just me saying "thank you".
I paid my bill and left. As I was leaving the little man said,...."Thank you!"
Interesting. Not sure that I will be getting back to this restaurant anytime real soon.

Everything was made to order, very hot and fresh and flavorful, not greasy, with no MSG. My in-laws have come here for 15 years and Boa and Sue consistently care about good service, a welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food. Spring rolls are large and fresh with excellent dipping sauce..make sure to ask for extra sauce. My kids got the orange chicken which was crispy, rich and not just sweet like some lower quality places. My husband's Tom Kha Gai was robust, creamy and full of all the yummy flavors. I wanted to eat it all! My dinner special was a chicken and chili dish that was also very satisfying.

The table was clean not sticky!!!! The dishes are beautiful blue and white porcelain.

I highly recommend Thai Promise. The atmosphere is hospitable, and the food is excellent.

Fantastic family owned restaurant. My girlfriend always gushes over how cute the man and his wife that run this restaurant are. Will your waiter sometimes forget to refill your tea because he's watching TV with his wife in the back? Probably, but the authenticity and joy he delivers when serving you is worth it. Oh, and the food is always delicious :)

I ordered a take out meal for two from the menu I found on line on facebook. The menu showed a dinner special for $9.05. A wantan soup was listed at $6.50 and the egg rolls at $5.00. When I pick-up my order the meals were charged at $12.95. The wantan soup was 9.95 and the egg rolls were 6.95. The total bill was $51.92. When I questioned the charges I was told that they had a new menu which he provided. I understand inflation but this difference in menu prices is ridiculous. The worse part was the food was not good. The egg rolls tasted like the ones you buy frozen and heat in the microwave. The wanton soup was not near as good as soup I have bought at other restaurants. The chicken chop suey was nearly identical to the garlic chicken with the exception of a few different vegetables. The chicken was rubbery. I would have enjoyed the food more if I bought a can of La Choy and minute rice and fixed the meal myself.

There is no excuse for leaving those outdated menus on facebook and other sites. Very misleading. I got the feeling that they didn't really care if they served a good meal to their customers. All they wanted was my money. I didn't leave a tip and i won't be going back.

The food is excellent, restaurant is clean and service is slow but fantastic. A husband - wife team. Food is really good but pricey. I realize food costs have gone up. But our favorite went from $13.95 to $17. So $35 before tip & tax for two for lunch is a little high!

Gracious couple that was there, accommodated us just before closing time. The food was exceptional and delicious and the ambiance appropriate along with gracious service. The place was clean. We were fortunate to find Promise - Thai Cusine on our Roadtrip while we were passing through.

Only eaten in once as the place is pretty small but take-out is always fast, hot and delicious! Pad kee mow is my go-to and never disappoints!

I love Thai food and have tried several places in town and am a frequent goer to one. I saw this place driving by and thought I’d give it a go and I wasn’t disappointed! I went during lunch and got the Gang Musman curry. It was delicious and so fresh, and not to mention the portion size was great considering it was lunch and what I paid for it. The rice portion was also great and it was steaming hot which I love!
The gentleman who took my order was very sweet and friendly. The atmosphere inside the building is very peaceful and clean, definitely want to try some other dishes from there!

The atmosphere is pleasant, and the people who work there are very kind. The food, of course, is delicious. There are several options for gluten free. They aren't labelled on the menu but the staff are knowledgeable about which items are GF and I have eaten there multiple times without any issues. Would highly recommend!

The food is hot, delicious, & prepared fresh. And the tea...oh gracious, have you some of that! I am a huge fan of Thai & have eaten more than my share. For a quick pick up curry or noodle, this is tasty. Not fancy & not as richly seasoned as some Thai you may find, but good.

We ordered Basel fried rice & pineapple fried rice. Honestly the taste is nothing like thai. I eat Thai from so many places, I know how they should taste. But this one is so different. Had no Thai flavor. Basel fried rice doesn’t taste like Basel fried rice, it taste like something else. We are disappointed with the taste. Shrimp wasn’t fried. Shrimp & the crab was steamed. Crab was smelly too. We didn’t like it.

We went to Promise on Christmas Eve, for the first time. It did not disappoint! So flavorful & the spice was perfect. It was absolutely delicious and will be our new spot for Thai!

Beautiful place with very sweet owners, but my spring rolls were underwhelming and tasteless. Center of the roll (specifically the noodles) was hard, and I ended up having to spit it out.
They used chicken instead of pork, and even though it was moist, it had zero flavor.
Might try some other dishes.

Best Thai food in Wichita, if not the US. We really love to eat here. Beef Panang is our favorite dish. Visiting Wichita from Washington state and this was definitely on our list of restaurants to visit. We've been twice in 2 weeks. Sticky rice and Mango dessert was really good too.

Soothing love is always great quality food that comes with all the flash and the flavors of The king Elvis is in the Atmosphere. Incredible success in Curry's,I DEVOURED the yellow . Much better to take your breath away with more than enough of these ingredients to have your body and heart to engulf it all.
