I had a fantastic experience at Oriental Bistro and Grill KS! The restaurant's convenient location with ample parking immediately caught my attention. Inside, the ambiance, while reminiscent of a traditional Chinese eatery, could use a touch of modernization. However, the serene atmosphere ensured a peaceful dining experience.
During my visit, the service was solid, on par with what you'd expect during lunch hours. The menu truly impressed me with its wide array of dishes spanning Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisines. It's a culinary journey all in one place!
As for the food itself, every dish we ordered was a delight to the taste buds. The chefs truly know their craft, as the flavors were spot-on. While the presentation was typical for Chinese cuisine, the focus here is undoubtedly on taste.
I also found the prices to be reasonable, aligning well with the quality and portions they offer. Speaking of portions, they didn't hold back – the serving sizes were generous and satisfying.
In conclusion, Oriental Bistro and Grill KS is a gem worth visiting. With its diverse menu, delicious flavors, and ample parking, it's a great spot to explore various Asian cuisines. While the interior could use some sprucing up, the overall experience left me thoroughly satisfied.

It's been awhile since we ate here, but we always try to stop by here for dinner when we are in Lawrence. They offer various different asian entrees from various Asia countries. They have dishes from Thai, Vietnamese, Singapore, Korean, Japanese, Indian and many more. They also have a hidden authentic Hong Kong menu that you have to ask for if interested. We usually get the crispy pork belly with ginger sauce and some sushi items. Also, depending on the season they do offer seasonal menu items to try. Definitely a worth visit restaurant

I order delivery a lot. Mostly the Bento boxes since they are my favorite and absolutely delicious. We have ordered dinner for pickup before. Their food may be a bit expensive but I think, from what we've ordered, it's worth it.

I used to love this place, but quality is declining with the prices rising enormously. The portions are very small, too. I just ordered teriyaki chicken lunch special to go and there wasn’t even a 3/4 cup portion. A little over 1/2 a cup, maybe 2/3 cup, and it didn’t even cover half of the spot in the box when it used to be full. With the expensive prices and smaller portions, it’s not worth ordering there anymore.

Food is good. Service was above and beyond all expectations. I just wanted a simple dish and that’s exactly what I got, it was perfect can’t complain. Will go back of course.

Excellent! I got the octopus appetizer and the seafood shio ramen. If you're ever in Bentonville AR check them out. The also have a full bar and great hot sake!

Came highly recommended. Disappointing experience. Small portions. Waiter forgot egg drop soup and sushi. Had to ask for spoons for children. Had to ask for water refills. Slooow service. Don't order delivery unless you want to spend a ridiculous amount on hardly any food. This place used to be my favorite but post Covid they have gone downhill on the quality of their food. Red pepper is the place to go!

Got less than 1 cup of food per entree that was over $12 an order. Spent over $70 and we are still hungry. Called them and all they did was refund $7. Will never order or eat there again

This was our first time at this establishment, and I took the whole family along. I was quite surprised to see they didn't have a buffet, but rather a large menu with a big variety of dishes. The for was excellent, large portions, decently priced and served hot. Staff was attentive and friendly. Recommended to friends and family.

We went to the Oriental Bistro in Lawrence for my husband's birthday on Friday night(we live in Topeka Ks). Our server, Brian, did a fantastic job. He answered all of our questions. He also accommodated all of our food requests. My husband doesn't care for garlic, so Brian offered to have the cook remove the garlic from his general tso sauce. Which I thought was above and beyond. He was also very attentive, polite, and quick. The food was great and fresh made. My hot and sour soup was fantastic. I also had the pan-fried noodles that came with shrimp, pork, chicken, and veggies. It was hot, fresh, and tasty. The fried rice was full of flavor. We didn't even need soy sauce. The sweet n sour chicken was also fantastic and flavorful. The egg drop soup, wonton soup, and walnut sauce shrimp were also good. All 6 of us enjoyed what we ordered. They have a very large menu that included Asian food, sushi, Chinese, Korean options, and much more. Something for everyone. Plus, the environment is comfortable and down to earth. We really had a great experience there, I highly recommend going there.

Great sushi, noodles, crab rangoon, and sweet & sour chicken.

The food was metallic, dry and rubbery. I could hear a microwave go off in the kitchen. When asked how the food was prepared, the waitress could not answer and offered to take the food back and see what options were available to us as compensation for terrible food. She returned with the bill and a discount of $5 per meal and no other options for compensation. The bill came out to over $40 with the discounts with a $10 mojito and a $3 bottle of coke served with a class of ice on the side. We will not return to this restaurant.

I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed. The highlight of my takeout meal was the egg drop soup and steamed rice, which were fine. I ended up throwing away my Szechuan chicken. The veggies were mushy, the broccoli yellow, and the sauce was watery and cloyingly sweet. It’s such a shame because it actually had a really nice variety and amount of veggies.

We love O.B.G! Every thing and everyone is always amazing! When we are celebrating, we usually go here, when we are date nighting, we like to eat here and when we aren't feeling great, we get egg drop and hot and sour soup to go and it always makes us feel better!

Absolutely terrible. We got the pad thai and house-pan fried noodle dishes. The pad thai tasted like a citrus and sweet mess. I had to eat something else to get the taste out of my mouth. The house-pan dish was okay but not good. Will not be eating from here again. $35 for a terrible dinner for 2.

When I first moved to Lawrence, this was where I ate my first full meal. The ambiance was cozy, the food was delicious and high quality, and the staff who took care of me were all lovely. My now-husband has been a longtime patron for all these reasons, and even my visiting relatives loved their food. I'm glad that it has remained the same, four years later. They have a great variety of dishes and seasonal fare. Whether dine-in, take-out or delivery, they are always on top of our list.

Service was the only thing good about this place. Me and my child whet there to eat for a nice one on one lunch. Our hopes were high and our stomachs were empty, but what we got is not what we expected. Pad Thai smelt like cow manure and tasted awful. My daughter had the bento box #3, their hopes high but what she got was not good. The fried calamari was like bitting into rubber. Overall not a good time. 0/10

Tonight's pho, was probably the least favorable pho I've had from here. The soup had vegetables that are not included in pho, but slivers of vegetables in the broth that are definitely not part of pho. The broth was oily, very dark, and the chicken looked yellow. I am deeply disappointed in how it came out tonight. I could not finish it. The broth tasted like oil and the color of the chicken was unsettling.

They charged me about $15 for this pho.

The food is good. They have a separate menu for authentic foods, that I love. Their Three Cup Chicken is a favorite as well as the Jalapeno Pork for those who don't live in fear of spicy.

Several years ago this was my favorite place in town. Now it's a pale shadow of what it used to be.

The restaurant has a really offensive smell. It was difficult to stay in and eat today. The carpets are worn and gross looking, which is probably why they keep the lights off.

My son, it was a lot of experience in these matters, says they have his favorite lo mein noodles in Lawrence. My Chow fun noodles were also really good. Service is quick. Prices were a little higher than other places in Lawrence, but we also liked it a little better.

Not impressed on their food. Dishes are either so salty or no taste. What makes the one star rating is their receipt is really misleading. They charged 20% automatic gratuity. Why? We have 4 adults and one toddler under 2. No where on their menu mentioned the 20% tips are mandatory charged. And they put the additional tip on the receipt that I almost thought it’s for standard tip and was going to put 20% tip. I could have put 40% tip if I didn’t pay attention the receipt. They almost tricked me. The reasons I am mad is their service is terrible and they forced us to pay tip. We were sitting there for at least 5 min and no one came to help us. We will never go back.

Never again. The to go portions are abysmal. $11 for this beef/broccoli. In person I’d get triple that.

The fried dark meat chicken (from the curried rice bowl) is to die for! 10/10 crispiness with a hint of honeyed sweetness. Not pictured was a wonton appetizer, with a delicious soy sauce vinaigrette.

The atmosphere alone is worth experiencing. The server was also incredibly friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to come back and try something different - the menu has so many tasty items that it was hard to choose!

Tried Oriental Bistro for the first time and it definitely won't be the last! The food was sooo good! Our waiter was attentive and very helpful. I had been craving some Sesame Chicken for a while, had tried it at a few other places and my craving was not fulfilled. I can happily say that after eating at Oriental Bistro my craving has been satisfied! The restaurant was a comfortable temperature for me, I usually freeze at restaurants, and the aesthetic was really nice! I can't wait to go back!

Waited an hour for my carryout, which was understandable, but what I came home with was not what I ordered. Mala fish and twice cooked pork belly were done completely wrong, as if the meat was thrown in with random buffet vegetables...and there was something I didn't order at all. Beyond insulted and not going back.

This place is losing everytime we oeder from here. Quality of food is getting wrost at least for the pickup orders. I just see alot of low quality service and low quality of food lately. Went in at 8:05pm. The lady at the front desk lied to me and said they stop seating at 8:15, looked at her clock and then said 8:10 just so she didn’t need to seat me. I will never come back here again. That is horrible customer service. I work and can’t get here sooner.

Highly recommend the appetizers! I have tried about four rolls here, and they were good, but almost too "rich." The cold rolls however, like the California Roll, were so good! The appetizers tho.... the best! The crab Rangoon is so authentic, and the spicy wontons are to die for! Also, they had super fast service and they were very kind!

Horrible food

We use to love coming here for Chinese food but this place has gone downhill. Last time we ordered we had to get a refund because there was barely any meat on any of the entrees. We ordered food yesterday hoping things changed after a while and the same thing happened. This time I don’t even know how we are supposed to get a refund for 60 bucks when they keep telling me to contact menufy and menufy is telling me to contact them! What a joke, won’t be back!

I woke up the next morning thinking about the meal I had the night before. First off let me say the the atmosphere was casual and inviting. The entrance was clean. We were seated in a booth next to the bar. Our server David was helpful and attentive. I forgot to take pictures of our meal but the food was awesome! For appetizers we ordered we ordered the vegetable spring rolls and the fried avocado. The spring rolls were average. But the fried avocado was divine! All of the ingredients blended together wonderfully. We orders a soup that had shrimp, calamari, imitation crab, etc. I could have drank the stock from that soup and been happy. It was savory. We also had Singapore noodles with shrimp. It was wonderful as well. Also on Tuesdays Saki is $1. Nice! Over all it was a wonderful experience that I want to experience again. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Went there for lunch with my mom, let's just say we will not be back again. Literally I could not eat my lunch and sent it back. Our soups were luke warm at best and have lost their zest. Not impressed taking my mom from out of town there when I talked them up. Use to be great now not at all what they were. Sad!

Good food, outstanding service.....I'm having to update this to say USUALLY. I've never had a bad experience here before. My family and I try various dishes and are pleased. Hot and sour soup has always been a favorite. However, my lunch yesterday was a big disappointment. Sauce and vegetables, soup, etc. we're all excellent, but the chicken! It was SO TOUGH. I couldn't cut it. I could barely chew it. It tasted and felt as though it had been re-cooked several times over. My sister said hers was tough, too. Now I'm leery.

I took out my elderly neighbor. She wanted Chinese, and somewhere we can sit down, not a buffet setting. So I chose Oriental Bistro because she never been there before. She really liked it.

Loved the food. Had different type of choices of asian food. Korean, mongolian, japanese, chinese. Reasonable price and taste was also great.

Found a shrimp in my empress chicken. It was breaded and stuck to the chicken so I had no idea until I was chewing it. They were incredibly lucky shellfish isn't one of my severe allergies. This kind of negligence can literally end someones life. Do not eat here if you have allergies.

I can say that we are " regulars " at this place. Oriental Bistro is fantastic, food and service is always great, tasteful and healthy options are available. Sushi is great, and the menu has a variety of options. I never get bored...

I ordered from this bistro for the first time, tonight. It's doubtful I will be again. We had Lemon Chicken with plus extra chicken, Mongolian Beef with plus extra beef and an order of Fried Avocado. The meal was priced on the mid to mid-high range. It arrived in a timely manner. The food was still hot. However we were fairly shocked at how very small the portion sizes were. Especially since we had both ordered extra meat. (The extra cost over $2.00 to add) There were only TEN pieces of chicken in my meal. Meaning what? A standard order only has 5 pieces of chicken?? The Mongolian Beef meal had less than a cup of food. Again, just how ridiculously small is a standard order? If this was a posh restaurant, say in a city like New York, I would better understand the price verses portion size. But its not. Seriously disappointed and not likely going back. I only gave the 2 stars because the actual flavors were good, the food was delivered hot and quickly. Just not worth the $$$ for the insanely small meals.

5 Stars for the crab rangoon alone, which is the main reason we always return. Generals Tso Chicken and Sesame Chicken are both good. The Chicken Teriyaki Sushi Roll is yummy.
The Cashew Chicken was slimy in texture, but when I requested a new entree, it was swapped out without hesitation by the friendly server.

We had a great dinner here. The waiter was very friendly and super knowledgeable. I ordered a roll, which I typically wind up regretting, and am happy to say that wasn't the case tonight. 👍

Went there for our anniversary, ran out of Bud Light, only had one. Waitress didn't tell specials, didn't know the menu, and food was cold. Horrible Anniversary memory.

They were not busy, had slow service, poor quality of food, lunch portions served at dinner prices.

Wonderful, fresh food and great service.

So happy they are back open for dine in! I got the ma po tofu and it was absolutely delicious 😋

Always excellent food

The sushi was almost all great! Two types of sashimi were less than fresh tasting. Our waiter was great and brought a big slice of cheesecake for a birthday dessert.

Searched for popular places and picked this for it's location and it's menu. We enjoyed the variety and the speed of service. The atmosphere is clean, friendly and comfortable. The staff is pleasant. The food is good, well prepared and what you'd expected for the price.

The staff were nice, but the authentic Chinese food twice cooked pork was terrible. The pork was cut so unevenly. Some were slices and some were cubes. The taste was also mediocre.

Absolutely amazing!! Don’t be fooled by the exterior, the interior is very nice, professional and clean. Our server Brian was fast, attentive and friendly! The lunch special was a fantastic deal with quality food and lots of additional food like tempura, egg roll or crab Rangoon and lots of rice. We will definitely be coming back and is instantly one of my favorites in town! I was missing my Thai curry and quality Chinese food fix and now I found it. 5 stars!

My family have been ordering since we moved here a year ago is always spot on! We love trying different dishes! Definitely the place to go!

I like their luncheon specials but I will have to tell you that this particular day the chicken that was served as part of my dish tasted like it has been in the refrigerator just a few too many days

I absolutely love this place! It was very clean, & nice. The food was amazing, we ordered the lunch special with Mongolian beef, & king pao, they were both amazing (recommended by waiter). Drinks were good, & we left full & satisfied 😊 Definitely coming back. 5 stars

It was delicious. The waiter was overwhelmed but still gave great service! Sushi was excellent!

Customer service has been top notch every time. Food is delicious. Helpful if you have any questions about the menu. Nice atmosphere and curbside service is fast and courteous as well.
