🚫‼️❌️🤮👎If you're ever in Dubuque, IA, save your time and money and speed past Lina's Thai Bistro.
Almost an hour wait for carry-out. Fried calamari was soggy, oily, and stunk like rotten fish. Sashimi was paper thin, warm, and the cuts were not uniform. Chicken padthai was pale and tasted like sugar with a splash of soy sauce; it was inedible. I tasted a sliver of it and had spit it out; it was so disgusting.
The owner's brother, Fong, gave me a refund after some time but there was no apology and he took off immediately afterwards.
In the last month we've been there twice. The first visit, both times at the lunch hour, we (3 of us) had hot pot. Very authentic. I cooked and did not let the items stew long enough. I enjoyed the process and the learning experience. If your on a time budget don't order hot pot. Will order this again. Second visit (4 of us) ordered from the menu and items were ok. No pictures. This spicy does not take away from the flavor.
We had a group of 7 on a Saturday night and had a reservation. We were seated within a minute and it was wonderful meal. Great service with drinks (paid and water) being refilled timely and the food was fantastic.
I had the spicy eggplant with tofu and it was excellent. Tofu was prepared really nicely and plentiful. On a scale of 1-10 of spiciness, it was a 2 but the waitress did offer a "5 spice level" which I turned down.
My somewhat picky daughter chose the sweet and sour chicken, which is actually a stir fry version, and she said it was, "the best food ever".
Nice decor and the waterfall wall is beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food. Great service. Conveniently was open for Christmas day. Was Almost packed. Loved the decor. The appetizers were good - Panang curry, fried rice and salmon all were great. Even the Tiramisu tastes delicious with tons of chocolate drizzles. One surprise and lesson learnt - the drunken noodles were glass noodles and not the usual fat wide ones. Also the spice levels despite asking for a 4 on 5 was a little not spicy. The spicy chilly paste more than made up for that.
I have always liked the food at Lina’s. But today I came here after a while and the first thing i noticed was the menu changed. The prices seemed lower so I was like cool.
I ordered khao Soi with my husband and I was so disappointed. There was such a lack of flavor!!!! Maybe there has been a change of chef. Lettuce has nothing to do with the dish! It seems very Americanized. Please bring back the flavor for khao soi!!! It’s supposed to be a very bright color and as you can see from the picture it’s so bland and sad looking !!! Pleaseeeee make a update on your Khao soi recipe and I’ll come back. Also I asked for chili oil and they didn’t have any. What Asian restaurant doesn’t have chili oil! :( the dish barely had any coconut curry.
Also the Thai tea used to have flavor here and now it’s very watered down.
If you go maybe order the fried rice.
The pina colada was good the drinks are always good here
Stopped in after work on a Wednesday, pretty busy but about 70% full. Food was very good and had dim sum for an appetizer and pad see ew for entree. Both very very solid and quick. Service was just okay, totally understand the current hiring environment and waitress looked overbooked, but checked in once and brought receipt without asking for dessert 🍨 . Dang wanted some green tea ice cream I saw in another review. Maybe next time.
Would still come back for sure.
Food was so bland - no flavor - service also not to good.
Great Food and Service!
Nice strip mall location
Was excited to try a new resturant out. Says it closes at 9. Went in 8:50 and was told dining room is closed but could take out :/

Thai spicy is the only difference I could tell. Not as hot as my tastes buds like, but still VERY tasty.
Sehr freundliches Personal und leckeres Essen.
Food was ok and service was not so good. They charge 20% service charge by default irrespective of how we feel about the service which is insane
Great place, service & food. Absolutely delicious!
I wasn't impressed by the Pad Thai or the sushi my son got. I did, however, try my friend's curry dish which was quite good. I believe it was the Koi Soi.
We loved the atmosphere and the waiters were so good and friendly. However, the food was all different.
We have eaten here for years and the food the last 2 times has not been as good. We get yellow curry, lettuce wraps, calamari and combo fried rice.
We won't get any of our old faves again.
Just not a relaxing dinner!! Three couples out for dinner. My main course showed up after everyone was finished eating. Yes the waiters apologized for the kitchens mistake. The best part was my tiger cry beef was just a bad cut on meat. I eat 2-3bits. Nothing like trying to chew a rubber band. The icing on the meal was three separate checks were forced to pay a 20% tip added to the check.
Why I paid the full bill is shame on me.
But the Happy Joes taco pizza I had delivered later that evening was perfect!!
Thank you Happy Joes
Great place. Good food.
Been here a few times before. It's been awhile though. Today was exceptional.
First time here. Good food, great /friendly service. Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.
Strong 4 star for the food considering it’s in a strip mall. Solid bold flavors, nice beverage choices and fast service, furnishings were aged. Great choice for fast gourmet food.
Delicious!
The soup was great! After that the meal was not. Taste just wasn't there. The dishes seemed to have potential but gave up. I was excited to order the mango sticky rice but the disappointment came quickly.
We had a party of 20 and got our food quickly and it was delicious! Our server was great as well.
Very nice atmosphere. Tasty food and quick service!
Stopped here for lunch. Grabbed the chicken pad Thai. I am unsure I got a reasonable version. Too sweet, bland looking and tasting. No beans, no green onions, no peanuts or lime slices. The weird item adding more beige to meal, it was served with white rice. Never have I been given white rice to go with pad Thai, a noodle based dish. Very disappointed in my choice for lunch establishments.
I’m sorry, the price and the quality of food do not line up. Fried rice shouldn’t appear like plain white rice and those rangoons are a crime. I’ll stick with Pete’s, sorry 😞
A bit pricy but delicious food
Food is always great, freshly prepared, and delivered quickly. I've always had wonderful waitresses!
The ramen is amazing! Equally amazing are the spicy basil mussels. It's the perfect place to take a date, quiet and a fun selection of food!
Had the sushi roll special for lunch. Arrived looking like a kids portion with very little raw fish inside. Looking forward to trying the curry next. 🤞
We were able to order and enjoy a wonderful healthy meal. This is the third time that we've been here and will make it a point to come back in the future for another wonderful meal.
Lovely place with excellent food, just try to ignore the constant cloud of gnats. Or do take-away/delivery.
We ordered pineapple rice which was ok but spicy eggplant was disappointing not flavorful and not spicy. Eggplant was not existent replaced with lots of onions and bell peppers.
Food was not authentic Thai food but tasted more like mediocre Chinese cooking.
Went there on a dinner date food was hot and yummy Lina even wished me happy birthday such a nice owner.
I have never tried Thai food before It was delicious we sampled the dumplings three different sushi’s and crab rangoo my entree of Mongolian stir fry was very tasty portions were large and the waiter was great
Have tried many different items. Everything is so good.
We've been to Lina's a few times, and I like the place, but not quite 5 stars worth. The Thai cuisine is definitely something that you need to like all around to make the experience the best for you. And I'm not quite there. It isn't traditional "Chinese" or even Asian, it is unique to Thailand, and kudos to the place for keeping it authentic. I'm not much into sushi, but I can see they do a very nice job with it, and I definitely enjoyed a few pieces that I was given to try. Maybe that's a new avenue for me to explore. Anyway, it's a good place if this is your thing, nice atmosphere and good service.
Everything was good, but the sushi seems kinda off🤔
The foods is very good.
I got delivery. Food was tasteless. I'm not a fan.
I hate to leave three stars for this place because the food is amazing, but last night we had some of the worst service we ever had. Our server hardly spoke any words to us and seemed annoyed the whole time. When refilling our drinks she spilled quite a bit on the table each time. We waited for almost 20 minutes for her to come by again at the end for our bill. I had to go up front and ask for the bill and to go boxes. If that person is our server again I will walk out and go somewhere else.
Such DELICIOUS FOOD! Our favorite place to eat on a date :)

The pina colada was good the drinks are always good here
Friendly service and big portions, if you enjoy spice you should ask them to kick it up a notch. I had the red curry which was two meals for me fairly easily.
What a beautiful restaurant! A sense of PEACE encircled us as we entered! Sitting among real plants carefully placed to nurture us, we ordered from an extensive menu! More than we needed, but so much to keep coming back for if one lived in Dubuque! We ate simply, but delightfully! Excellent meals! My vegetarian (tofu) fried rice with added mushrooms was outstanding! I had enough to take away another meal for me as I traveled back home to Minnesota! So zen! Thank you, Luna! 💙🕊️
Great food! Alot of choices! Amazing service as well.
The food was very good. I tipped the waitress well despite her lack of enthusiasm. She definitely seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else.
If you like very flavorful food and house plants, this is the place for you!
The food is amazing! We had amazing service as well!
Love the food here! Ive had the samosas, the crab rangoon,California roll, dumpling soup and my husband had two different soup noodle dishes, all of it was fantastic! The service was good and the decor of the restaurant was unique and beautiful!
Easy parking, calm, quiet place to visit. Prompt friendly service. When my husband had a concern about the chicken, they redid it quickly so could dine with us. My eggplant was delicious.
The service, selection and food was very good. We’ll definitely be back.
The greeter was excellent, and customer service was excellent. Food was simply Amazing!
First time visit. I'll return.
Used to have a 5 star rating from me. Been going downhill the last few times we've been there. Crying tiger beef was so overdone and chewy it was hard to eat. Waiter never cleared any dishes off the table and left empty handed. Appetizers came 20 minutes after we ordered and then 5 minutes later, our entrees arrived. Nothing was very hot except the curry for the rotai canai. Overall disappointed and it used to be a favorite place to visit.
The excellent food can’t make up for the extremely slow service. It took over an hour to get food and it came out one person at a time. We had 4 in our party and each got our food separate from each other. My husband didn’t even end up eating because we had waited so long and everyone else was done. Totally unacceptable. We felt really bad for our server though. He tried to get things to us as fast as possible and kept apologizing. Just poor management and kitchen set up.
My favorite place to eat in dubuque. Try the tofu Ramen with chicken stock, amazing. Good service, hot food, and nice atmosphere. 👍
I usually have a positive experience with Lina’s, but ordered takeout for dinner tonight and was less satisfied. 1st I ordered and asked for a common cocktail while I waited and they were unsure they made it and found out they didn’t. Waited 30 minutes for rice and noodles to get home to food which seemed reheated, oily, and extra sweet. Extremely hungry, I nearly ate it all until I bit into a staple covered in whatever it was cooked in(my food). Staple went through my gum.
Our server was super nice and super helpful with describing the menu. Everybody was super friendly and all of the food was super good! Highly recommend.
I'd eat here every day. Excellent food. Service is always friendly and quick. Couldn't ask for more!
Update 12/30/23: Still amazing.
Very Good!! I recommend stopping by to eat. Service fabulous, food was served quickly, taste great.
I ordered Pad Thai for takeout. It was the most bland Pad Thai I have ever had. Very disappointing. It was missing a lot of ingredients to be called Pad Thai.
Ordered sushi to go…I was expecting way more out of this place and from the reviews. Lunch specials I ordered to-go: chicken tempura roll (probably the best), cucumber and asparagus roll. The seaweed and/or rice tasted kind of old together, had a weird taste to it. Sweet and sour soup was the only enjoyable part of my lunch meal.
But servers that helped with ordering were kind but red wine at the bar tasted old.
Food was delicious but dining is slightly cramped
I have eaten there so many times and had nothing but great food. Had a longer wait time for our food today, but our server made sure to tell us they had a lot of call-in orders. Overall, it is highly recommended! I absolutely love their chicken fried rice!
My new place for asian food
Was able to get right in.
Waitress was very efficient.
Atmosphere was nice with soft music and no televisions!
Good place to go for lunch.
Love their version of a fortune cookie.
Good soup.
Good sushi.
My friend had the glass
noodles dish, which she enjoyed.
My sushi was personally made by Lina and she puts all the love in! ❤️ #volcanoroll
The Sushi was DELISH
Great food!
There's black mold spotted on the wall by the second set of doors. I went to the bathroom and two blonde servers were outside of the door giggling and said we just mopped in there be careful. When I go in it smells like fecal matter and they sprayed a bunch of air freshener which left a round circle of wetness on the floor. I thought that was a very odd thing to lie about part of me thought it was funny but why lie lol. When I was looking at the menu it was caked with food and sticky. I ordered a Thai iced coffee that tasted like a yoo-hoo. The place looks dirty and all the surfaces look uncleaned. Would never come here again which is unfortunate because I heard the food was good but never got that far.
Did not care for this curry. If you want good curry go to Pete's.
Very good food here, nice clean place. The server was friendly and she took good care of us.
Their food is good, clean location and very friendly services. I visited with friends from church and now I can't wait to take my family.
Just had take out sushi, but it had great flavor. The restaurant looks very nice for dining in.
My daughter and I found Amazing Thai food .... excellent pumpkin curry! nice portions too, we both took home some left overs. 10 stars if I could give it!
Great portions for a great price. Thai options and Sushi are both delicious.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is amazing and filling. Prices are the best, I walked out full for less than some fast food chains.
Always amazing!!! Great people also!
Thai Basil Fried Rice is fantastic
Food is amazing, the decor is beautiful and the servers are friendly and make amazing drinks! I love the Miami Vice 💗
We love the food and the atmosphere here.
The quality of food is very poor. They treat customer in a horrible way. Delivered wrong food items, but denied to give refund for it.
Not recommended at all.
Linas is probably my favorite restaurant around Dubuque. The food is amazing. The staff are great and the place has good vibes.
Stopped in for lunch with a coworker, and the menu alone should’ve been a red flag. This is not a Thai bistro, it’s got a menu a mile long with dishes from every country across Asia. We ordered sushi and didn’t finish it.
Went for lunch. Green curry with tofu had a delicious flavor with a little heat, although mostly a green bean dish not much tofu or eggplant. Would have appreciated more of both. It was dark but cool and comfy atmosphere. Would definitely return to try additional dishes.
This place is a go to Thai restaurant when I am visiting Galena Il.
Ordered Pad Thai which came without peanut sauce. It was just noodles & tofu.
We also had Pad See Ew which was plainly seasoned & oily. Its not worth the price they ask for.
Took a day trip up to Dubuque and stopped in. Excellent service and excellent food!! Had the lettuce wraps and green curry. Very fresh and superb flavors. We’re so happy with our first experience and highly recommended trying out!
Perfect。We came here the first time,we ordered :pork ,noodles, rice, the tasty was very good, their service was OK too,the bsoo and the servant were all nice. The price was cheap. We will come here quickly the next time.
Always great Thai food. Midwest hot unless you ask for more. Owner is very dedicated to offering a good experience and good value. Dishes are large enough for most appetites. Drink choices are varied. I go as often as I’m in Dubuque. .
Solid Thai restaurant, good for the price. Plenty of seating space. Good hours
Very impressed. I love genuine Thai and this is really the only place in the area. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Food was good, but waitress only checked on my husband and I once.
Well decorated with a full menu of options
I hate leaving bad reviews and often like to give a place the benefit of the doubt...everyone has an "off day" and opinions are so subjective.
That said, I was not happy with my experience here. The food did not taste authentic or fresh. The flavor was a bit unpleasant. I order a cocktail called the Tuk Tuk that tasted syrupy and thick. I had the Thai Fajita, which was just stir fried vegetables in a disappointing sauce that left a poor taste in my mouth. My husband had drunken noodles that was served very dry and without the traditional noodle that's usually served with drunken noodles. The service was quite slow. I hope others have a better experience here, but it's not a place is recommend and would go elsewhere for Thai/Asian fusion flavors. Thank you!
Loved the food there. We ate veggy items, everything was soo delicious!
On a road trip and this place was near our hotel for the night. Based on reviews we thought it would be good to try. That was a mistake. The restaurant was clean and all, but the food sucked. Had sesame chicken, garlic chicken, a French kiss sushi roll, Las Vegas sushi roll, and a Mississippi roll. The Mississippi roll and French Kiss roll were okay, mediocre at best. The vegas roll tasted like it was fried in the corn dog trailer at the county fair. All in all, I don’t recommend. The waitress was kind and helpful, but we had our food before our silverware. I will say they did accommodate my daughters food allergy.
I dont know of they are short on staff or what. Staff is always friendly enough. I have been here multiple times. Takes FOREVER to get food regardless if they are busy or not and food is hit or miss. I've had fried sushi that comes out cold and have had stir fry come out cold on seperate occasions.
Service is terrible and slow. If you want to wait a hour before you get your food then eat here. The staff barely care if they attend to you. Waitress never checked on us after we had our food. Food was only okay. Nothing special about this place.
Great service and tasty food! Highly recommend. Mike from Eastern Nebraska. 🙂
Appetizers were good. My Pad Thai was edible but felt like they didn't even try. No egg, no bean sprouts, no shallots or green onion/chives. Seeing how it's a Thai restaurant ..pretty disappointed. I've had other good dishes there will just avoid the Pad Thai in the future.
This was a very nice Thai place here in Dubuque Iowa it came highly recommended by the locals. If you order the drunken noodles they do not use the wide noodles they use glass noodles. But the food was excellent!
Great food just dust everywhere and I had a dirty cup of water and was seated at a dirty eating area
Service was great, atmosphere and ambiance was nice. I had the pad thai, it was a little bland but pretty good, the hot and sour soup was really good. Mango and sticky rice was a nice dessert. I’d definitely eat here again.
Quick service and large portions for the money. The lemongrass sausage meal was swell!
just listen to a horrible customer complain over everything server was excellent dealing with her nonsense our meal was very good we love trying new things
Have heard that this is the best in town.
I've tried them twice now. Service was fine.
Atmosphere fine. Food just not that great.
I'll go down to the Millwork, 11th street
The table attendant gave our large group excellent service and quickly brought anything we could ask for that didn't need to be cooked. The food tasted amazing, but my salmon was overdone. Would 100% go again because of the relaxing, fun atmosphere and fair prices.
Went there a few weeks ago for the first time. We shared the hot pot, a few sushi rolls and teriyaki chicken (I think) and everything was delicious.
Visited for the first time and the food tasted great! Looking forward to visiting Dubuque again and visiting Lina’s!
Always great service and a nice spot for lunch on the West end. Food is always fast and good.
Don't get the sushi. Excellent server staff!
The whole staff, including Lina, is incredibly friendly and fun. The sushi was amazing as well. We have added this to our list of favorite restaurants to frequent.
Will be back! Loved it.
My fav place in Dubuque
I walked in with my daughter and waited to be seated and they just looked and walked away. It wasn’t until I flagged someone down before we got a seat. Afterwards, we were seated for 10 mins and no one came to even serve us drinks or anything. The restaurant was half empty and everyone else around us were being seen but we were looked over. I went here once before and the food was delicious but they just lost a customer and potential others because I will spread the word. You need to do better with the customer service in this place. I am a citizen just like everyone in the restaurant that you were serving!!
Service is good and friendly, waiting time is fine, facilities are nice. Food however is at best "okay." It's not bad, but we've had better elsewhere. I ordered crying tiger (supposedly because it is intended to be spicy hot). This tiger wasn't crying. The beef was just sauteed without any noticeable spice and somewhat overcooked. The sauce that came separate was spicy, but not particularly. Abundant salad came as a base, which was still somewhat watery. Overall, this dish was unimpressive. One of my guests had teriyaki salmon which she described as average (she'd sampled better elsewhere). The other guest had Thai-steamed grouper; it didn't quite fit the menu description, the ginger was hardly detectable; she was disappointed as well. I'd ordered mango coconut fried rice to go, which I warmed up the following day. It tasted like steamed rice with some coconut flakes on top and overcooked chicken bits. The mango flavor was nearly absent and the fried rice was desperately dry, despite being properly packaged. This fried rice was downright mediocre. Hot tea was thoroughly losable. The crab rangoon appetizer was good, and so were the two desserts we ordered. We spent well over $160 for three, including a bottle of wine. As I wrote earlier, the food was okay at best, but not good enough to return.
Food was great but took over an hour to get our food. Waitress was super friendly, but never checked on our table or anyone else. She also didn’t bring us anything we asked for. No water refills and never brought us soy sauce or anything else we had be offered. We also noticed that our waitress forget to put the table next to us order in and took forever to get their food. We not completely impressed. The food was very well cooked though.
Service was slow waited 45 mins for entrées. Appetizer was minimal 4 peices of shrimp. We got sweet chili catfish and it was doused in sauce and spicy pork stir fry and there was 5 large peices of gristle in it. Other than that the meals were ok. We walked away Still hungry after just spent 55 dollars for dinner. Also the tables were not wiped down between customers. Unless your looking for slow service I wouldn't reccomend
This was our first visit after many friends suggested this restaurant. We were NOT disappointed! The portions were filling. The prices were good. And we were not rushed in anyway by our wonderful server, Alex! Great crab rangons. And we tried the California Sushi roll, which was fresh and tastey! We will be back!
Great food, great service. Highly recommend a pad thia
I had a great time with my daughter. Thank you.
Great place to relax, eat, and enjoy company
This place is wonderful. Ended up taking 2 or 3 different meals home to try lol. All were fantastic. My favorite was the red curry. Only tried a couple different sushi but both were very good. Service was very good as well. Overall great experience
Love this place. Went by myself and then brought my family back the very next night. Alex did a wonderful job serving us! We will return.
I ordered the teriyaki mango chicken and it came out on a soggy bed of lettuce and the chicken was as if it came out of the freezer and microwaved because it was slimy and barely warm. The sauce drizzled on top was definitely store bought, tasted very artificial. My plate looked like I didn’t even try it. There was that much food left on my plate. Lastly, when our server came over to ask how it was, I was honest and told him it wasn’t very good. Our server then laughed and asked if we were ready for the bill. When we took the bill up, the owner of the business checked us out and asked us how it was and I said again that it was wasn’t very good. She ignored what we said and acted as if she didn’t care.
I ordered an eggplant stir fry to go while stopping in the area on a road trip and I was so disappointed that I had to throw it out and order from another restaurant on the trip. There was very little flavor. And I ordered vegetables instead of protein but I unfortunately got all onions and peppers with one piece of broccoli. I LOVE Thai food and eat Thai at least once a week so I was excited to try somewhere new, but it was a disappointing meal unfortunately. I give two starts because the staff I interacted with seemed very nice.
Good asian cuisine. Confusing decor but the spicy food grabs all of your attention anyway
Great place and nice people
Maybe we hit a bad night? Server was cool, did his best. 3 ✨️, my food pork and noodles 1✨️, my wife's tiger steak 3.5✨️, my sons curry with chicken, 4✨️... drinks and soup took over 30 min, I had to ask... 1✨️
Wonderful people and amazing food! Love this place.
