Small local restaurant located in a strip-mall. We specialize in Thai dishes, ranging from noodles to curries. We also have a kids menu!
Had a wonderful Mother's Day dinner. We had Pad Thai and Green Curry, and both dishes were delicious. We also had Spicy Dumplings and Crab Rangoon for our appetizer, also delicious.
The staff was particularly friendly and very helpful when it came time to order. The food came out fast, spicy, and plentiful. Just like we like it.
The menu is quite extensive and will require many a return visit to explore it. We look forward to them.
My wife and sister went here. We generally LOVE this place and supported it through Covid. But the customer service provided by the waitress was terrible. She also gave a lot of attitude toward a certain two people trying to get a meal an hour before close.
I still support this place, the food is awesome. But please, work on that specific waitress. We all know who.
We were coming in with a group from work and the waitress was really rude right off the start. We said we weren't sure how many total people would come from work, (thinking we could sit and then add a table if needed) and she very rudely said she was going to need an exact number, before we could sit, even though the whole restaurant was emtpy. We told her we weren't sure and that we would wait for a few minutes, so we stood by the door and didn't notice an employee needed to get through and she rudely asked us to move. We ended up going somewhere else for lunch. We were looking forward to trying their food, it looked really good, but the service was horrible.
My boyfriend and I have been enjoying the food here for years. We no longer live in Ankeny, but when we happen to be in town we love to grab some takeout for a special dinner. Especially love their green & yellow curries, and Thai iced tea as well!
My wife, son, and I are at Siam Table last night for the first time. I had the sweet basil chicken. They both had pad Thai tofu. We all agreed that it was the best meal we had had while eating out in as long as we could remember. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The waiter was kind, cheerful, and a lot of fun. The food arrived quickly. It's in a strip mall, but the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable. FWIW, this is the first time I've reviewed a restaurant online. I bothered to do so simply because we enjoyed the meal so much.
Tried this place for the first time. Walked in at 5:30 on a Friday and was greeted right when we walked in. The place is fairly small and filled up quickly, but they also take to go and online to go orders. Sat at a table to dine in and ordered the crab Rangoons for an app then my husband and I each ordered pad thai with chicken at medium spice. IT WAS SO GOOD. Definitely is one of my favorite pad thai places now. Will be back!

Great Thai spot in Ankeny! We like the chicken pad Thai and Veggie Delight.
Hawaiian rice was funny tasting!! I believe the shrimp or pineapple was not good!!

Used to love this place, but the last two times we've ordered, it's been lack luster. Little or NO spice both times. Very disappointing. We will not be ordering again.
Favorite place to eat in Ankeny. The food is always hot, always delicious, the service is super friendly and quick, it's always clean and the vibes are great.
Ordered online so don’t any comments about seating inside. But I ordered chicken pad Thai and drunken noodles with beef. Paid $2 extra to have them add beef. There was hardly any beef or chicken in it. If I’m paying $50 for two entrees and an order of spring rolls, 5 small rolls for $10,
I would expect some meat. The spring rolls tasted ok but were extremely greasy.

Pad Thai is so good from here and I also love their chili oil. Food is reasonably price and is one of my go to places for take out
Great Thai food. Never takes more than 20 minutes for carry-out to be ready after calling. When dining in, service is prompt and friendly.
Absolutely love this place! The Pad Thai is fantastic, and the people are always so kind. We've never had a bad experience, and I'm sure we've ordered from here 20-30+ times over the years. It's affordable as well!

Our waitress was an older woman with glasses. She was quite passive towards us during our stay - to the point of not acknowledging my mom's birthday after I told her we were there to celebrate. After dinner, and after our checks were settled, we were mid conversation when she came by and bussed our water glasses (all that was left on the table)... Anyone that knows serving knows this is a passive aggressive way to say "get out." The dining room was closing in 20 minutes. I know from experience that once the checks are settled, you don't need to kick people out 20 minutes before you close up. Afterall, we had only been there for an hour and 20 minutes - not an unreasonable amount of time to sit down for a dinner.
Not to mention the restaurant was empty most of the night. We were the only ones in there from 6:30 to 7:45 (when we left).
They have 3 options for spice. None, medium, hot. I ordered medium but in no way shape or form should a medium immediately start burning your mouth as soon as it touches your tongue.
The other dishes ordered were pretty bland based on the consensus of the table.
Would recommend driving to the other side of town for Silk Elephant. Much better service, environment, & flavor.
This food is incredibly delicious. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in town for sure. It’s always ready shockingly fast too! Absolutely recommend.
Delicious food that is served piping hot is the star for sure. The dining room is small enough that you get to listen to the employees talking as your entertainment. Honesly, that is the only knock against this restaurant. I also think that such a small place should just be fast casual. Let me order my food on a screen and fill up my drink, there is no point to having a waiter.
Awesome food, Good pot stickers, with multiple sauces, Yumm!
If you find yourself in Ankeny, eat here. Level 2 spice is perfectly balanced but with a pleasant heat. We stan this place.
Overall was a good experience, they didn't have peanut sauce again, has happened to me a couple times. The pad tai is always good.

Great food, atmosphere and service. My new go-to for Thai food in Ankeny.
Great food, fast service. Large portions, we always take some home for lunch the next day.
Have ordered twice so far from them. Really like the food. Take out and delivery.
2 words: Massaman Curry.
The food is phenomenal!
The Pad Thai is great too.
The food is really good and decently priced. Only complaint is the spice levels are inconsistent. I ordered it last week during lunch and i always get the 5 spice level and it was super hot and spicy which i like. I got the same kung pao chicken this week and same spice level level 5 and there was no spice to it all.
The food was okay and lacked flavor.
5 stars all around. This place is small if you eat in. But, there is always carry out. I had the Kua Kai with tofu. Best tofu ever. Full of flavor. Many places do not understand how to prepare tofu, But they do it fantastic!
Please check this place out!
This place is a joke!
Delicious food & huge portion! Perfectly spiced, the produce tasted fresh. Will definitely be back!
Service and atmosphere were great but our meals were ok at best. The drunken noodles were soupy and the pad thai was bland.
On Saturday night we pulled in looking forward to sitting down on our first night away from kids in a long time. It was 7:35 & the oversized neon OPEN sign was on. When we walked in it was very busy but there were two tables available with silverware set at them. A lady walked up and greeted us with a question, “are you here to pick up?” I smiled & answered “no.” She followed up by asking, “are you wanting to dine in??” “Yes please,” I answered while signing for my wife. “We close at 8:00,” she says. “Okay?? Do you not want us to stay?” I ask. “The kitchen stops taking orders at 7:45,” she says abruptly back to me. I turn to my wife and sign the interaction so she knows what the lady just said. She nodded to me to go and we walked back out to the truck. We sat in the parking lot for several minutes looking for somewhere else new to go. The oversized OPEN sign remained on. Hard to review the food or atmosphere since we were discouraged from sitting down?? At 7:35 - on a Saturday night - with a restaurant full of patrons? We ended up going to Nanna’s Pizza & Pasta. We had never been there - the service was great and the pizza was phenomenal. So it ended up being a great night!
I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! Ever since my wife and I moved to Ankeny 2 years ago, Siam Table has been a favorite for our family -- they probably even know our order when I walk in for pickup. I always order creamy Massaman Curry with medium spice, and my wife loves their Sweet Basil with no spice.
Thanks for being a takeout staple in our household!
Siam Table, thai food
The food here used to be way better in the past, it was our choice for pad Thai and fried rice previously. Our last order in June 2023 was disappointing - overcooked rice, no flavor, no sauces; chicken pad Thai - same issues, plain, overcooked noodles, some weird tomatoes added to the dish. I hope it was a one off, but still don't want to go back to see if it's gets better.
Don’t get delivery they will add 50% to your bill without you knowing about it. Very deceptive
Pad Thai is always great!
Nice place. Excellent food. Good service. Get the crab Rangoon.
The best egg rolls I’ve had. Great customer service!!
Horrible over the phone customer service. Snotty and rude
The food was good but don't order the egg roll or fried spring roll as it might be called. No meat, just some cabbage and nothing else, so basically a fried skin with little cabbage. Not worth the $7.
Service was great and curry is pretty good. One downfall was super overcooked sticky rice.
Update on another attempt:
Extremely ripe onions that were basically raw in the curry so extremely overpowering flavor. Removed onions and nuked them to make the curry bearable.
Again with the soggy overdone sticky rice, maybe it's just how they make it at this restaurant?
Edamame was old and soggy, didn't have any salt or flavor added.
I really want to like this place because it's one of the only curry restaurants I can go to on lunch in Ankeny. But the cooking and food quality is so inconsistent. Hard to give them a good review :/
We’ve eaten here many times over the years, however the quality of the food has gone downhill. When we ordered last evening and the picked up our order there was an automatic tip included in the price of our meal. For what? Isn’t the price of the food and preparation included in the price of the meal?? $40 for some soup made with potatoes and carrots served over rice. Ridiculous. We won’t be ordering from here again. We will drive to West Des Moines and eat at Eat Thai. Way better for a lot less. ;)
This restaurant has the best green curry base I’ve ever had! The thick coconut milk base is loaded with a decent portion of veggies and some meat. The veggies were a bit on the crunchy side, so you may want to ask if they can cook a bit longer if preferred. But overall, I would definitely go there again.
Overall pretty good in terms of service. I ordered the gluten free Pad Thai &, while the flavor was okay, I found it a little dry.
Recommended by a friend. Staff was great, food was great.
Tried the green curry with chicken and the spicy basil chicken. Both dishes were great and have me enough for for 3 filling meals. Agreed extra spice to both meals and not at all disappointed.
Edit: Ordered a few times since my initial review. Nothing has disappointed!
They have definitely gone down hill. One of our orders was cashew chicken and they wouldn't serve it with fried rice and now they only have 3 spice levels and the food lacked flavor. We will never go back!!!
The lady who picked up the phone was extremely nice, great food 10/10 recommend. Amazing service
Best crab rangoons and pad see ew in town.
Never anything but awesome. Love this place. Recommend the Pad Thai, Tom yum, and the egg rolls.
Part of our order was not correct, Had to drive back to pick it up, wait and still paid for it. 40min later I got to go home and eat my cold food. Unfortunately not the first time.
This used to be our go-to for pad thai--the best in Des Moines, and I used to consider it a five start restaurant. But they changed the recipe and now the pad thai sauce tastes different, almost store-bought, like from a bottle. It's the same as Silk Elephant, their sister restaurant, where we also had really lackluster pad thai. It lacks the authentic fish-sauce flavor and is also far too saucy, almost soupy. Positives: I haven't had their Thai curry in awhile but it was really great last time I had it, and the appetizer sample is always tasty.
Nice people, and good food for a fair price.
My mom likes your pineapple fried rice but your hours are awful. Third time I've wanted to order from you guys. As a bar manager, I understand things can be tough but also as a bar manager being open for 6 hours a day with selective hours is asinine.
Very nice place. Good food great and friendly service.
Spring rolls ,yellow curry, green curry rice, and chicken nuggets were all great
Great place, I usually eat there if I don’t get off to late and the staff are always wonderful. The food is also too notch.
Walked into restaurant and was abruptly told they only have take out even though dine-in was an option in online. Take out was okay and we'll only be back when table service resumes.
Dinning in is not open
Try the pumpkin curry, it's a favorite!
Went here for a nice lunch with family and couldn't dine in (my fault for not checking). Decided we would eat in our car with takeout. Asked for a few paper plates they said it's against our policy to hand out, I then asked for extra containers and that was also against their policy. I asked if I could pay for a few containers and that also was against policy... Long-story short the service was terrible and will not come back. If the owner reads this, Covid is over so open your restaurant up. No valid reason you shouldn't.
I came in last night and got the Pad Thai with tofu and the Pad See Ew noodles to go. The lady at the counter was extremely sweet and they prepared my food very quickly! It was delicious! I'm so glad to have a really good Thai place so close to home.
Siam table has definitely gone downhill. They used to be our go to for pad thai but they have definitely changed their recipe. It honestly doesn't have any pad thai flavor and it seems like on the fried rice they just sprinkled the spice over top and called it good so the first bites were spicy then after that nothing. Overall very disappointed in what used to be a great restaurant! I'll be trying others in the area next time.
Chicken was dry but still really tasty! The spring rolls are the best!
Best Thai food around. Authentic, friendly staff, and locally owned. Can’t get any better than that.
Very friendly. Best panang curry in the des moine area hands down
The crab Rangoon was okay, you could actually taste the crab, but that’s where the pleasantries end. I sent $33 on okay wantons, soupy peanut butter chicken, and pad Thai with noodles that stuck together an insane amount. My mom and I both picked mild spice and it was over powering. It definitely felt more spicy then mild. It was strange that the flavors of the food were just not there and then we got hit with spice. Waste of money and time.
I've got my mother and my father exposed to Thai food and this has become our go to spot in Ankeny. Staff is always courteous and on point!
Fast and classic Thai food. The crab meat was dry and stringy, but I will come back to try another dish here. Really cute atmosphere and decent price. Very clear listed gluten free items including desserts and appetizers. Nice location, friendly staff, so far as my first visit goes.
I've been eating here for around 5 years. Every dish I've ever tried here is excellent and great quality. You gotta try the pot stickers. So good. You will not be disappointed.
Got this food twice to give them a fair chance in case the first time was a fluke. Sadly it was not. The noodles are dry, the wrappers for the pot stickers were not fully cooked, and simply put their pad thai is not pad thai. Very disappointed.
So delicious!! Wonderful food. Good value for the money, they give you huge servings, and friendly staff. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat out in Ankeny.
best food, best service and best staff! left happy every time i order here! love that they put in a warming bag if you’re late for your pickup. very considerate service :)
One of my families favorites- we eat here nearly every week!
Hawaiian rice number 3.
I loved going here when I lived in Iowa. This restaurant has good vegan options and the food was always freshly cooked and healthy. The green curry was always my favorite dish here
The food was great… Until one of our dishes had a beetle (dead bug) in it.. not our best first experience.
The spicy basil fried rice was not spicy at all. I ordered chicken and shrimp but only got 3 or 4 shrimps and maybe 3 pieces of chicken. I wouldn't order again.
Great curry, decent appetizers
Delicious!
My sister and I love this place! The staff is super nice and the food is always amazing. My favorite small business to support in ankeny (:
This place used to be excellent—great Thai food. However, in the past year, the past few times we have ordered food from here, it has really gone downhill. Pad See Ew was dry and tasteless with very little meat and under-cooked broccoli. My non-picky husband always gets the Pad Thai, and he said it was not good as well. I don’t know if they have new owner/manager or cooks, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Guess I’ll have to go to Des Moines from now on for good Thai food. Bummer.
I hadn't ever had Thai food before, my friend recommended this place. I loved the Chicken Pad Thai, the way the chicken was cooked was phenomenal. The ladies that work there are also really nice. It is a bit more expensive, but that's only because it's a small restaurant. You get the quality for the price though.
Best curry in Ankeny. I miss dining in but they didn't slow down a bit with pickup only.
Great service and very friendly.
Excellent takeout! My wife had cashew chicken and I got their drunken noodles with seafood. Nice portion size and very well seasoned.
Terrible food, even worse customer service. Picked up our order - two noodle dishes - get home, neither of them has ANY sauce on them. After eating two bites of our dry rice noodles with extra large chunks of cabbage I called and let the restaurant know what happened.
Instead of offering to remake our food or refund it, they said they'd give me 15% off my next order (which I would never use). I said I would prefer a refund since I didn't receive the dish we ordered. They said ok sir, YOU MUST BRING THE FOOD BACK! I proceed to say okay I will be there shortly, "Sorry we're closed now". After arguing with me they let me bring the food back after they closed at 8 and the employee opened both containers to inspect them before agreeing to issue a refund.
Asking a customer to bring back their food to get a refund is one of the most egregious things a restaurant can do and they should be extremely embarrassed. I will never, ever go back to this establishment again and would encourage everyone to stay away.
Great food! Their Panang Curry is really great - I've not found any better!
Food tastes good when the order is correct, but it is very difficult for them to get the order correct.
We went to Siam Table for their gluten free options. We loved the sweet and sour stir fry (not too tangy, just delish!) and the yellow curry stir fried rice (so much flavor!) Those dishes were really fantastic. Not as big of a fan of their peanut-lover stir fry.
Thanks for the great food!
Always good, Thai sweet basil is to die for. Every time I call for takeout they are so friendly and fast, what a pleasure! They remember my name when I come in now which gives me all kinds of feel goods. Love the food and the people.
Great place for takeout, never had something that wasn't awesome.
Kung Pao is 5 stars!
Delicious and fresh. Great food. One of our favorites in the metro. Taking precautions and doing a great job.
Never had thai before but it was really good!! 😍
Hadn't had Thai food in a long time and this place did a great job welcoming me back. The noodles were done just right, not too mushy or al dented. The spice level was not too intimidating. And my kids devoured their meal, which says a lot, since they can be pretty picky sometimes. Will definitely be returning again soon.
Such good Thai food! The staff are wonderful! They seem to be as busy or busier with all the take out orders but they have a good system and the orders have always been correct. Our favorites are Tom Yum, Fried Rice, Pad see ew, veggie delight ... it’s all good.
Nice staff very good food will go back again
Excellent Thai food in Ankeny!
It was a horrible experience. Had to wait like 30 mins for the food. We get there and they packed the bag and forget our food. Then we called them and they blame us saying it wasn't their fault. I just can't believe the customer service. I've gone to their restaurant a lot, they treat you like you are no one. I don't know if I'll ever go back to their restaurant. Even if we use their delivery.com they need to own up to their mistake and be able to provide a resolution. But they just didn't care. And she was just like well we are just busy. I just can't believe how rude the manager was.
Incredible Thai food option here in Ankeny. Their drunken noodles, tom yum soup, and hawaiian fried rice are out of this world. Careful on the spice level, things get pretty serious once you wander above two stars, but it's absolutely excellent every time.
Great as always! The wait was a little longer than expected to get my food, but they were very apologetic and offered to call us while we waited in our car. They are taking social distancing and masks very seriously.
Usually an ok meal. Tonight I ordered the chicken pad thai like I always do. When I got it home the meal had 4 small pieces of chicken in the container. I know times are tough, but for the price of the meal and the low cost of chicken. The meal should be the same.
worth the drive from ames! The pad thai is amazing!!!
Great food! So many yummy choices. I love that you can choose a protein and how spicy you want, in every dish. However, it is a BIG jump in spice when you go from 0 to 1 on their spice chart.
Pad thai did not like not enough peanut sauce, the basil was good and the Thai tea was also good.
Great service and food
Amazing food. Noodles were Perfect, chicken and tofu were of much better quality than most places like this I've eaten at. Great curry and rice as well. Their heat levels are not as intense as most, I got 4 and it honestly was not that spicy at all. Best part of the meal was the tofu, which I really loved.
The food was very bad yesterday we ordered fried rice and curry both are very bad. Don’t waste money.fried rice doesn’t have anything other than plain rice totally disappointed and waste of money
Some of the best Thai food in the Des Moines area. Always correct and fresh.
Great atmosphere and incredible food. The prices are also very fair!
My husband's favorite restaurant in Ankeny.
We got the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, Steamed Potstickers and Garlic Pepper Chicken and all of it was amazing. Will be back!
Food is great.
Awesome menu and the food is delicious
100% insanely good. Everything I've had from here is really, really good. Really good.
Delicious, and were quick and accommodating during tough times. Thank you!
A top notch Thai restaurant. Perfect combination of flavor & heat. The Panang Curry is among the best I’ve ever had.
The BEST Thai food in town! Had to get delivery due to COVID-19, and Siam Table never disappoints. Food delivered fast, although they were so busy, and hot! So freaking good!
What a gem of a restaurant. Super cosy, warm, inviting and to top it off great food! My Wife is gluten sensitive and it always great to find a place we both enjoy. I order something new most of the time and have made it 1/3 of the way through. It's reasonably priced and delious. They offer a spice level for the brave you can get a 5 or just get the spice on the side and see where you like it. I would recommend going in with a few friends and see what you think. For me I think I'll be back again this month!
Very good green curry!
Great restaurant. Service is good. The food is fantastic. Whoever runs the fryer is a genius. Always hot, crispy, and perfectly cooked. The curry bowls are huge and delicious. The entrees are a touch sweeter than I prefer, but always fresh and tasty.
