Thai Indy Restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants in Carmel, IN. We have a wide variety of authentic Thai cuisine that is fresh and delicious. We offer some of the most incredible tastes of Thailand in a unique and exciting mix of Thai and Asian food. We are committed to bringing authentic dishes that fit our customers' taste buds and are true to their origins.
Consider this place as a fast food spot versus a restaurant so your expectations are met. Food was great, hot and served so quickly and we were nudged to leave even quicker. We were hungry so we wolfed our food down but the server just kept nudging us to get out even though there were 4 tables vacant. It’s a small space and customers need to keep moving but what if someone wants to just enjoy 15 minutes more with a small kid and it’s super cold outside. While the food left a good taste in the mouth, service left such a bad taste.
We were immediately greeted! the shrimp blankets, and fresh rolls were amazing. Like as good as I’ve had since King and I in Oak Park Illinois.
The red curry was perfect spiced fresh peppers and bamboo- yum.
my husband and son got drunken noodles and another son ordered Thai soup. We were all happy with leftovers, due to the generous portions.
We shared ice cream and fried bananas for dessert and it was really really wonderful with layers of coconut within the thin crispy wrapper!
Just yum! Fast service and quick free refills of lemonade for my kids, which I really appreciate as we like spice!
The food was amazing, there was a language barrier so it was somewhat difficult to order. I ordered the Thai Noodle Soup (Thai Hot) with chicken and it was seasoned well and the broth was very flavored. My friend ordered the Garlic & Pepper with shrimp & steak (Medium), the cabbage was cooked to perfection, the white rice could’ve been substituted for friend rice to make the dish better. The shrimp and steak were seasoned so well and made the dish perfect! The Vietnamese coffee is a MUST!!! It’s is strong, but very creamy and comes with a cute handcrafted rose 😄
I travel a lot for business and I try Tom Yum soup, and Pad Thai all across the states. This is one if, if not the best pad thai and tom yum soup that i have ever had. Great service, fair pricing and good atmosphere. I will definitely come back here the next time I am near Indianapolis.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. Small strip mall restaurant in downtown Carmel, super clean, prompt and friendly service. We stopped here for a light meal. I had the seafood soup, small, medium spice. The broth was delicious, steaming, full of good stuff such as mushrooms and onions. It was not loaded with seafood but it was sufficient, tasty and good. I would order it again. I like spicy food, but would order mild next time. Hubs had fried rice with chicken. That was also steaming when brought to the table. Very tasty. He thought the chicken was a bit tough, so perhaps a bit overcooked. Anyway it was a nice stop and I would go again. If you appreciate this post, please click “Helpful.”
I’m really disappointed with the experience I’ve had at this restaurant. I placed an online order, only to find out after the fact that they were actually closed, which meant I couldn’t pick up my food. There was no notification or update to let me know, and I was left frustrated and out of luck.
To make matters worse, the last two times I tried to dine in, they denied service because they decided to close 30 minutes before their posted hours. If you’re going to close early, the least you can do is update your hours or let customers know in advance. It’s incredibly frustrating to plan a visit, only to be turned away for no good reason.
I had high hopes for this place, but after these experiences, I won’t be coming back. The lack of communication and disregard for customers’ time is unacceptable.
Delivery, delicious duck and spicy salad
Great Thai. Always a 5 Star meal. Btw..drunken noodle is amazing 🎉

Top Thai spot in carmel. The portions are generously sized and all of the food and drink is delicious. My favorite dinner is usually a pad thai with chicken satay as an appetizer, though I do also love the Thai curries (especially the duck curry).
Would give negative stars if I could for deceptive business practices. Refuses to honor a coupon issued by the restaurant. I’ve never had this experience in my life. There are many better Thai restaurants that appreciate your business. Go to one of them!

Decent place for Thai food.
It feels very franchised. I had the special pumpkin curry and it was decent.
There are better Thai places nearby with more authentic menus in my opinion.
Delicious and authentic. Lots of variety in menu options! Also has some vegan friendly options.

Tried for the first time tonight and it's my new favorite Thai place. We tried red curry and pad see ew, both incredible. Service was spectacular. Chill, cozy vibe. Loved it, We'll be back
Thai Indy is my wife’s and I’d go-to Thai once a week. In fact, we eat Thai from here every Friday and call it Thai-Day….
Our favorite dishes are the Thai noodle soup, orange chicken, Thai fried rice, and pad kee mao.
Definitely recommend Thai Indy!
I was very disappointed with Thai Indy today. I arrived at 2:30pm, and planned to eat in the restaurant, which has posted hours until 3pm. I was informed when I came in that it was “carry-out only”. Which also means I would be paying the same amount for less food as the carry-out version of the lunch special does not include the soup or salad that is included for dine-in. Having been involved in retail for a very long time, I always understood that if you are open, and someone comes in even 1 minute before you close, which I would never do, you take care of the customer.
Not happy. Crazy expensive for what it is. Food was cold chicken was dry. Will not return and please read this review. And be ware
Always amazing, staff is so friendly and professional! The food is sooo good! We love Thai Indy!
This is hands down, the BEST Thai food on the north side of Indy. I’ve tried just about every Thai place I can find, this one is wins. The Tom Yum soup has the most authentic flavor and the best I’ve had. My recommendations: Tom yum soup, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Thai basil, pinapple fried rice, and orange chicken.
Food is good but I had a terrible experience this evening. Husband didn’t like his food after two bites and tried to swap it out for something else. They told him he had to pay for the uneaten meal. Therefore, we won’t be back. Terrible service
Very slow , no good parking you will have trouble parking , and they only have one side of the doors that u get to use and have the other locked , with no notice to use that one door so i bumped my self trying to leave which is embarrassing ! Bad experience
Decent Thai food if you're in the area. It's fairly small inside so accommodating larger groups might be difficult or impossible. They do offer "Extra Thai Hot" which is actually spicy enough for me as it seems so many other places play it pretty safe.
This place has the absolute best crab Rangoon’s. The sauce isn’t Thick enough but those crab rangoons are an all the time craving.
I called to ask a legitimate question about the lunch special for take out because I didn't see all of the options when trying to order and was told I could not get the soup or salad for take out and when I asked if the price was still the same she hung up on me! I placed my order with Pad Thai instead. A little farther away, but a lot friendlier!
Love the food, my favorite is the Drunken Noodles, aka (Pad Kee Mao) is my favorite! The dinning room is pretty small its hard to get a table for more than four. Oh and the Thai Tea is pretty impressive too!
I'm not a fan of their crab rangoon (too much green onion), but I love their pad thai! I order it mild and with chicken. Great flavor. I definitely want to try other menu items. And the restaurant is cozy!
I tried to dine in here at 8:15pm and was turned away, even though closing time was for 9pm
I loved the place is so cozy the food was so good I’ll go here everyday if am not broke
Arrived at 2:20 and was simply told to leave as they closed at 3... This used to be my favorite place. but after they opened another restaurant, the quality of this one deteriorated greatly. I don't recommend it
The food was amazing, there was a language barrier so it was somewhat difficult to order. I ordered the Thai Noodle Soup (Thai Hot) with chicken and it was seasoned well and the broth was very flavored. Great food! Fast and friendly service
I love this place. Great food. Drafty in this cold weather, but the soup will get you warm
Good people
Good food
And great place
Couldn't ask for a better product at a better price. Thai fried rice is the best!
I went to try Thai Indy for the first time after I got off a 14 hour day at work. I absolutely hate as a Chef to have to go to a place 30 minutes before they close, but they were so welcoming and we’re happy to make my food.. they made a great recommendation, and it was absolutely some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for some great food.
Amazing Thai food. One of the best Thai food I had.
Cute Restaurant with good food.
New restaurants are always fun but when you find one you love, you never try a new one when you visit the area again. The only place I'll go when I come back.
Super awesome lunch spot. Food and service are wonderful. Can’t believe you can get an entree, soup, salad, and a spring roll for $11.50
I wish I could give this more stars. I love Thai food and have tried many places around and within Indianapolis, this is the best one by far. I wish I took photos I will next time, but everything was amazing. Best crab Rangoon of all time which was a nice start, pad Thai was sooo good, then tried my wife’s orange chicken equally as good. Will have to try red curry next!!
The best Thai food, hands down. Always consistent. They were formally Thai Castle. It was delicious then and because it was so good I was concerned that the change of location and name would affect them, but I'm happy to say it has not. The food is amazing every time.
Food was amazing
Really good and fresh thai food. My measure of Thai food is the Star of Siam in Chicago and this comes pretty close. Very fresh and flavorful.
Food is delicious when they get the order right. When they don’t include everything in your order, they want to argue about it first and then review the receipt as a last resort. This happened for the third (and last) time this evening.
the food is always amazing, fresh, and flavorful. hands down my favorite restaurant in carmel
HIGHLY dissappointed in service of a TRUE CUSTOMER! I have been a loyal customer when thai castle transformed into Thai Indy! Being a nurse working in carmel areas i have all ways had coworking staff order from there! I Was very excited when they opened up at the providence eatery shops i actually live upstairs ! So i ordered all the time 1 or 2 times a week being a true customer and giving them my buissness loyal when carmel has several thai resturaunts to eat at! On this particular day im working a 16 hour shift i volunteer to order lunch from thai indy and pick it up i will post the receipt on this review. We spent $55 on our dinner, i ordered the sweet and sour pork dinner Hot which comes with white rice, co workers ordered thai fried rice , padthai with glass noodles and crab ragoon. I pick up the order get back to work pass out orders and im missing my white rice that comes with my sweet and sour hot dinner. Now i can not eat that without the rice the rice evens it out, at this point im upset and hangry.I call the resturaunt let them know what i ordered how i was on break to get my meal and was missing the rice and asked can they refund me for just my order, they wanted to argue about the order tell me i can come pick the rice up or next time they will give me some rice! I tell them i live up stairs im a loyal customer that orders all the time can they just put my name down for a free sweet and sour or just refund me for just that or just reimburse for the rice back on my debit card...THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING I ASKED FOR ..SAID I HAD TO PICK UP THE RICE WHICH I COULDNT DO or would give me a rice next time they didnt consider the fact i couldnt eat my meal with out my rice or that i was a loyal customer that lives above the resturaunt and orders giving them buissness all the time! I was highly upset hangry and dissapointed They have lost a true customer! Over customer service and doing what is right. ALSO COWORKER SAID HER PAD THAI WITH GLASS NOODLES WAS THE WORST SHE HAD SAID NO FAVOR OR SEASONING WHAT SO EVER! I WILL NOW GIVE MY BUISSNESS TO PAD THAI RESTAURANT on main street carmel im told they know how to treat there customers.!
This is the best Thai food, flavorful and spicy, and the service is always amazing! GREAT PAD THAI!!!
I wish the restaurant had more space. Felt cramp. Felt rushed almost. Waitress didn't come back to even check on us till we were done. The AC was broken that day? The food taste great. I probably should of just taken my food to go. After 5 hours of a car ride, I just wanted to relax a bit. Probably just bad day.
I went to this place for lunch and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and the waitress was friendly and attentive. The drunken noodles were full of flavor, and the spicy bamboo had just the right amount of kick. The crispy tofu was perfectly fried and seasoned. Overall, it was a great meal with tasty dishes and excellent service.
This is my 2nd time ordering from here. I got 59. Orange Chicken Chef's Special 23. Pad Thai 3. Crab Ragoon and white rice. While I love the Pad Thai, I found the sauce on the Orange Chicken to be very liquidy both times, which makes the chicken soggy instead of crispy :(....could probably use more cornstarch to thicken the sauce. I didn't like the crab ragoon at all because it was too much cream cheese and not enough crab. The rice was good.
Outstanding Thai restaurant, only happened upon due to a business trip. I love heat and flavor and both hit the palette perfectly with their Yellow Curry lunch special. The hot selection not over powering by any means and the flavor in the curry was one of the best I have experienced in my travels.... Even for lunch, the menu choices were many, and not at all pricey. Carmel has a lot of offer and hope I am back to visit this establishment soon!!
This is my favorite Thai food in Carmel. Everything is good and when you order for delivery the food comes steaming hot.
Amazing food, great pricing and excellent service!
We ordered takeout of the Panang curry here and it was super delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if your searching for delicious Thai food.
Great food, great location. I got takeout and ordering was quick, food was prepared fast, and pickup was easy (except I had to park in back because of overflow from the neighboring pub on a Friday night). The mango curry, Thai noodle soup, fried rice, and pad thai were all delicious. If you are not a fan of spice, though, do not get the "medium" level.
I travel a lot for business and I try Tom Yum soup, and Pad Thai all across the states. This is one if, if not the best pad thai and tom yum soup that i have ever had. Great service, fair pricing and good atmosphere. I will definitely come back here the next time I am near Indianapolis.
I had the worst experience with the waitress at the restaurant. I visited this restaurant on April 20th (2023) for dine-in. We were just 3 people in all and the waitress charged us a gratuity of 20% even though the rule at the restaurant says the gratuity charge is only for 6 or above. When asked the waitress explains that I should pay 15-20% because that is standard tipping rule and says we should learning tipping as if I don't know the difference between "Gratuity" and "Tip". I would say they charge gratuity to all dine-in customers and when asked they speak about tipping (which is given by the customers according to one's satisfaction). This is disrespectful when they ask you to tip in front of other customers.
Very flavorful food at the right price
One of the best Thai restaurants I have tried locally! Great, fast service, delicious food, good variety. Would highly recommend.
I order crab fried rice at every Thai restaurant I go to. This restaurant however was poor. I kept feeling something hard as I was eating the food. I finally pulled a piece out. It was a piece of crab shell.
I also ordered hot (spicy) and what I got was not even mild. These other Thai places will give you real spice.
Sorry, I don’t think this place is it.
A little pricey. But very good. We ordered takeout… the sweet calamari, basil fried rice and Tom yum soup. Each one was delicious in its own way. Can’t wait to go back and try their curry. The staff was super friendly also.
Great location, service and fantastic food. Very clean restaurant with modern yet authentic ambience. Highly recommend for Thai cuisine.
I had the volcano chicken and really enjoyed it. Hope to go back and try the duck curry. They played jazz music which I thought was a bit of a strange choice. Not that I have a problem with jazz. I'm not one of those uncultured cowards who's very soul is shaken to the core at the thought of jazz, with its lack of boundaries and truly free form, oh no. I embrace the chaos and madness and I thrive in it. Calamari is also delicious.
Best restaurant in town for thai food! The staff is always friendly, they are very quick and efficient!
I went here for lunch and it was excellent. The service was very good, the food was great, prices were reasonable and the portions were good as well. Overall, a great experience and I will be back for sure.
Amazing service and favorite Thai food in Indy!
Wow! What a huge upgrade. The new location Old Meridian is bright and clean and in a much better location for a quick lunch. The food is still incredible and the staff are friendly, quick and attentive. It makes all the difference when you're trying to get in and out on a lunch break. Tables turn over quickly so don't be too quick to leave if it looks full. 👍🏼
Very, very good! Super fresh food. We shared the crispy wontons, and they were delicious! The “spice heat” on our meals was exactly what we ordered. Definitely recommend!
Every dish we tried is great. Portions are of a good size. Enjoy it!
We have eaten at this restaurant weekly since finding it. The ingredients are always fresh and they prepare the food to the spice level requested . I had the salmon this evening and it was a nice cut of fish and very flavorful .
Terrific spot for authentic food. We went with the chicken pad Thai and wasn't disappointed. We also saw someone order the Thai coffee and had to try it for ourselves. It was awesome! The staff here is also terrific. We'll certainly be back.
Absolutely delicious! Best crab Rangoons I’ve ever had and that says a lot coming from me. I also enjoyed steamed dumplings and the volcano chicken. Nice hard working staff. 10/10 would recommend. It’s a long drive but I’ll definitely be back!!
Hands down best Thai I’ve eaten lately! Pad Thai and Red curry were perfectly balanced and the egg rolls tasted fresh and yummy. My new go to!!
Been here twice and ordered the same dish. Quality was not consistent, the 2nd time being too spicy and salty.
Menurut selera ku ini enak
The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and I cannot recommend this place enough. A must go to for great Thai food.
Best Thai food in Carmel. Plus great service.
Great food and service.
I ordered bc I read the reviews and thought.. it’s close to me and ok I’ll try. Worth the order. I had pad kee mao, medium spice was great. It was zippy but not making my nose run thru eating it zippy. So perfect! I’ll be returning! So delicious! Price a great value.
My coworkers and I adore this place. First off, it has a very small but clean dining area with relaxing music playing. The lunch menu is substantial, and includes a bowl of soup, a sample of a salad, a spring roll, a good portion size of the meal, for dine-in only.. for just about $10. I love several of the dishes, and order an iced chai tea, they’re awesome. The food is so good, I plan to bring my family soon on a weekend to have a meal. My kids that are elementary-aged children have never had Thai food, and I’m hoping this will be a good introduction for them. We’ve gone to Thai Indy over and over and I’m there now!
By far the best Thai on the north side. Incredibly nice staff and the food is always fast and very fresh. This is our go to carry out spot in Carmel!
I always get the chicken green curry, and my girlfriend gets the Drunken Noodles. Also the crab Rangoon is a must!
Very good quality food, excellent service, clean place. We will be back.
Very good local Thai restaurant with great lunch specials. Would recommend for sure.
This place is awesome. I'm obsessed but also very picky about my Thai food after working for a high end Thai restaurant in Miami for years. This is EASILY the best Thai food I have had in Indiana. The staff was friendly, prices were great especially for it being in Carmel. Try the Thai dumplings and the red curry..... It's amazing!!!
My favorite Thai restaurant! Authentic and delicious. The new location is stunning with great service. I would highly recommend everything on the lunch menu. My personal favorites are the vegetable deluxe, Thai basil, and the fried rice is the best I’ve ever had in Indy. Thank you Thai Indy!
I got the Drunken Noodle dish with medium heat and loved it! Super fresh ingredients with great flavors, nice staff, and a classy atmosphere. I’ll be back!
Very good food, the lunch specials all looked tasty
Wow! This place is outstanding.
The atmosphere is really cute, and our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. The Crab Rangoon and Pad Thai are both the best I've ever had! Our first meal was so good that we had to come back to eat here again in the same week -- and the Pad See Ew the second time we went was simply delicious👌👌
This spot is new, but it's already one of my Indy favorites! The "medium" spice level was perfect for me -- I do like spice a bit more than most people. It was a perfect back-of-the-throat burn that didn't take anything away from the taste.
(Update -- Their "North Indian Style" menu is PHENOMENAL)
Delicious food, great service, really cute spot!
Visiting from out of town and felt like Thai food and stumbled upon this gem. Excellent menu, service and food. Enjoyed the Pad Thai with shrimp, vegetables with beef and cashew chicken dishes. Also had the dumplings as an appetizer. Was as good as our go-to Thai place at home which we alway compare to… It didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend stopping in.
Food was great! Service was great! The Thai iced tea was so good. Will be coming back...a lot
Definitely going to be our new go to for Thai food! The restaurant is very clean inside and the decor is cute. It's not a huge restaurant and sits around 7 groups. The food was delicious! Make sure to share room for the mango sticky rice for dessert. It's sooooo good.
Excellent food, kind staff, great owners. The best red curry in the U.S.A!!!
Best paid Thai in Carmel!
They have very good food and outdoor seating
