I have been in Springfield for over 20yrs and have missed this spot. Thank goodness I found it!!! We had the rib platter, the appetizer combo, extra egg rolls, a Noodle dish that I can't remember the name of and mango sweet rice. EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. I wish I had discovered it sooner. I ordered take out, but got there early. They went back and started it. It came out piping hot and fast. I will be back many, many timesπ
A solid option on the North Dirksen strip. Nothing fancy, but a simple and comfortable stop, whether passing by on I-55 or from anywhere in the Springfield area. Very much a family run restaurant feel with attentive service. Food is fresh and pretty simple. Appetizer soup was a good-sized portion and served very hot (nice on a cold damp evening). The salmon was good but swimming in too much sweet chili garlic sauce for me. The sauce overpowered everything else in the dish. Dine in or carry out.
I ordered orange chicken, mango sticky rice, and a thai tea. Im 99% sure the mango stivky rice was served to me with expired milk. Thats exactly what it tasted like. I literally gagged. The orange chicken tasted very salty. Paid $25 just to drink thai tea. The food was not eatable. Would not recommend coming here.
My second best Thai restaurant. Could do better but for Springfield, I could live with this. Nice staff.
Came here for a quick lunch which included Mongolian chicken , vege soup and egg roll all for $7. Can't beat the lunch deals but the most exciting part was the food tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. The flavors were on point and not over wpkced5, they can spice it up if needed.
Experienced fast and kind service during lunch hour, ordered the yellow curry with chicken & rice- exceptional. Will most definitely be back many times.
My wife and I had the pleasure to dine at Thai Basil in Springfield after an appointment. My wife had the PINEAPPLE DISH, and found it very pleasant. She doesn't do spicy foods and this fit the bill.
I, on the other hand, crave the spicy heat. I had the THAI GINGER DISH, and requested medium heat. It was just what like. Everything was great. But my next visit, I will spice it up a notch and go for the hotter addition.
Great place. Great atmosphere. Great service.
We were there mid afternoon, and had the place to ourself.
My second best Thai restaurant. Could do better but for Springfield, I could live with this. Nice staff.
Very good food and nice people. Not a fan of the new gaming area tho.
My son loves this restaurant!! I'm giving it five stars for him!
Had a great experience, food was perfect, the service was amazing

Local, great people and great food! Servers are always friendly and helpful.

Best Asian food in town. Service always top notch. Lunch specials M-Sat.
Great food and prices. Beats mimosa and Little Saigon in a landslide.
I had given up hope when I hit the barbecue place that only accepted cash, but thanks to Google they led me to Thai basil the most affordable Thai food lunch specials this side of the Mississippi!
Thai good choice of thai more on the chinese food side

Beef pad Thai and sesame chicken are both FIRE!

Entree was fine, however the egg rolls and spring rolls were waaaaay too salty!!! We ordered three types. No way to distinguish them. One type was plain greasy.
Not a fan at all. I ordered an item with chicken; it came out with shrimp instead. I immediately pointed out the error to the server right after the food was delivered. She apologized and said she rang it wrong.
Okay; not a big deal. I was a server for years; mistakes happen once in a while. I'm not a big fan of shrimp, but it's tolerable. I was on a trip and had too little time for them to remake the dish correctly.
However, when the bill came, I was upcharged for the shrimp - which I didn't want, didn't order, and didn't particularly like. The server had been made aware immediately, and this should have been fixed before the check was presented. But that's not really the irritating thing.
The server then had to take the ticket to the manager, owner, or whoever it was behind the counter that was clearly in charge. As the server is telling her what happened, the person starts giving me suspicious looks and is clearly irritated. She acted like I was trying to cheat her out of the shrimp I didn't order. She did adjust the check, but what's up with the looks? I didn't do anything, and I'm not paying extra because the server rang it wrong.
The food was not good either. The meat was very little, the portion overall was small, and the food was basically just a plain stir fry of some vegetables with the little meat. The sauce was scarce and lacking flavor. I had also ordered the vegetable spring rolls; they were bland.
I love Thai food and eat it often, but this food was majorly disappointing. I wish I had tried a different restaurant altogether.
Very good food
always friendly with great food
Almost, almost 4 stars. I seem to have difficulty finding a happy medium in spice level between too spicy and a bit bland. We got the sampler plate appetizer. Great variety at a great price. Loved the beef kabob. Would def get that again. Chicken stick - that's a no. Tasted sour in a bit good way. Fried dumplings were some of the best I've ever had. Loved the baby roll. Crab Rangoon good. Golden triangle - no. Weird tex mex after taste. Good lunch prices. Great egg roll. Good veg soup. Yellow curry just a bit too spicy curry fried rice just a but too bland.
Dishes are delicious with generous servings. Well priced and our family 's preferred option over chain restaurants.
Smoothies are my fav!
Great customer service there was a problem with a customer's order and owner went ABOVE AND BEYOND 2 CREATE GREAT SERVICE BY REMAKING THE FOOD.
10 STARS FROM YOUR LOCAL REVIEW
KEEP IT UP
Customer service was good, restaurant was clean and the food was absolutely amazing! I loved the Pad See Ew. I canβt wait to back when Iβm in Springfield again. 5/5!
Food was very fresh and delicious. Wait staff were very courteous and accommodating.
Love the food!!!
Pho is ok!
Amazing I order 2 from them and always was fresh food.
Disappointed as it wasn't anything close to authentic Thai food.

Ok I got this stuff via door dash it was here very fast so fast I was a little suspicious. I got what they called panang which wasn't. First off it was thickened with flour like a gravy pretty sure it has no trace of coconut milk. Panang is basically sweetened red curry this wasn't that. It was a poor try to make red curry. I also got Tom yum. Oh boy really? Limes in a Thai soup is not Tom yum. I could find no trace of lemon grass in it. It was close but certainly not Thai but it was sour. My Thai buddy that owns his own place would cringe at what I got. Sorry folks but a menu that large is usually not what they claim. In this case that is in fact the case. I couldn't eat it sadly. If you like it that's fine, but what I got I wouldn't call Thai food. Will clean this up on my computer I hate cell phones.
Ordered the pho. It was excellent.
Ordered green curry (chicken) with rice for takeout. Good portion size for the green curry (the amount of chicken perhaps could be a tad more). Ordered medium hot, but what I got was more like "mild". Overall though it's a pretty decent Thai restaurant.
Delicious.
Not at all like real Thai food.
Sauce sadly tasted frozen or out of a can. Zero flavor. :(
Stopped here for lunch. Very nice place with an inviting atmosphere. Very nice and attentive staff. I had Pad Thai is was good. Iβll stop here again when traveling.
What can you really expect in Springfield IL?

A nice, simple place for some basic Asian fare. Nothing fancy but the food is good and fairly priced.
Today just went in for frozen fruit drinks. They were amazing!
Don't ever eat here . They sprayed bug poison next to the food that what cooking. WhatΒΏ?ΒΏ? And make wrong dish ans were very rude. Don't do it !
Red curry sauce tastes like it was out of a can, same with the pad Thai sauce.
Ordered sesame chicken and it was a majority of just chicken fat. Only ate the rice and little chicken pieces I could find. Also got the drunken noodles and the sauce was not flavorful at all. Never ordering from here again.
Love this place! The steamed dumplings are delicious.
Great food and clean π π
The egg rolls are homemade. The family that owns it every nice. The food is delicious
Love this place!
Good food, I stop wherever I'm in town
Pho was fire π₯ service was great thank u ill be back.
Dinner portion of Panang curry... Just more liquid than lunch. Asked for small chicken fried rice ... Got large ... Didnt look in bag til home π
Good food and service
Service is spotty but always good food, great soup! Lunch prices are reasonable (haven't had dinner there in a while so I can't speak to other prices)
One of my favorite places
Their chicken teriyaki is a complete joke for the price.
Great little place. Wife and I really enjoyed it. She loved the Mongolian Beef, and liked my Orange Chicken. Crab Rangoon were awesome as well.
Always fresh and delicious
Very tasty first experience... will go back!
Went here Saturday for dinner it was good very quick service but I got the pad Thai and I always get it when i come here but its been a while since i been here and the pad Thai wasnβt served with rice it was served with noodles and the sauce they put on it was kind of weird and after i ate i felt sick to my stomach.
Great food, friendly staff. One of my favorite places to get a good vegan meal
We had two meals. My husband had a chicken egglant dish. By the middle of the night he was moaning. He was throwing up etc for a day and a half. He got dosed
Good country curry
Service is quick and friendly and the food has been great everytime 10/10
Good food! Fun waiter! Overall good experience! I would go back!
Stopped by on my way to St Louis. Local place, good food, quick and friendly service, and good way to eat healthy in this small town. Couldnβt be happier with my experience.
Walked in, ordered food for 7, walked out with EVERYTHING perfect! Good π job!
Very nice .
Food was delicious as usual and the staff was friendly and efficient?
Best Thai Basil Chicken dish is Springfield
One of our family's favorites . Definitely yum
Honestly, when I'm in Springfield I absolutely look forward to eating here. In my opinion, one of the top 5 places to eat at in Springfield.
Good service. Large menu and food was served quickly.
Good food, friendly staff, and a clean place. π
Sweet and Sour chicken was excellent. The restaurant was clean and the service was great.
Okay Asian. Not super flavorful. Appropriate portion sizing
The food was ok, great service and reasonable prices.
Very helpful stuff and over all very clean and good flavor
Delicious food. Perfect mix of ingredients in the sauce and dishes I've tasted.
Good food, friendly staff.
Friendly service, hot and delicious food, will visit again!
Very good food, good service
Great Food!
Good Thai, with friendly prompt service always!
Food was really good.
WORST I'VE EVER HAD!!! Chicken teriyaki was dry as cardboard and the wings over cooked. And the drunken noodles smelled bad and tasted even worse. I'd ask for my money back, but whats the point. They have to know how bad their food is and have just given up. I'd go hungry before I'd eat there again.
Food always great π
Delicious... However, I feel the portions get smaller every time we eat in.
Love this restaurant. Every dish is flavorful and different.
Why do Thai places in Springfield serve teriyaki sauce, sprinkle crushed peanuts on top and call it peanut sauce? Itβs not peanut sauce.
Why do Thai places in Springfield fry their chicken sautΓ©? It absolutely ruins the texture of the chicken. Shame on you Thai Basil.
Horrible food here. Go to Wendyβs. The end.
Good food. Fast service.
2.5 star. Food is so so.
My husband were there and enjoyed everything we ate. We had satay chicken, fried dumplings, wonton soup and Pho. All were excellent! We especially liked the basil in the Pho. Yum!
Family run pan-Asian place. You can get Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese based dishes from the menu. Looking forward to trying more menu options in the future.
Fabulous, delicious food.
It was outstanding! Thank you.
Sampler plate was good. Rest was just ok.
Pretty darn good! Yassssssss yummy
Everything is so fresh! Yummm Great service too.
Expansive menu with choices for all tastes. The seafood baked rice and seafood sizzle are personal favorites as well as spring roll and baby egg rolls. Most sauces are hand made and delicious. Soups are great too.
Fantastic Oriental food! By fare the very best in Springfield and central Illinois!!!!
One of the best in town
It was ok
Great food and friendly staff
Not too bad
Food was absolutely delicious and the waitress was very nice
Delicious π
Great family restaurant great service
Really Good
Great service... great food!
Pork pad thai ordered spicy is the way to go π
My 1st choice of chicken pad thai in all of Springfield. The restaurant is well maintained and, the staff is very friendly. I live 35 minutes away and, itβs worth the drive π. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
In the present climate its nice to be actually "welcomed" and feel good about the staff wanting you there. Good food and cheerful staff make for an experience you want to repeat.
Great food!! Always fresh and hearty portions!! Nice people!!
Desperate for pad thai on a Sunday night, we took a chance on Thai Basil and ooph - what an awful, disgusting mistake. My pad thai was a joke - there was almost no sauce and what little taste there was, certainly was NOT the taste of pad thai. It was literally inedible and I had to throw it out. My husband got the garlic delight and said "it's fine but tastes like a lean cuisine." We split an order of veggie tempura and it was SO thickly battered that I had to spit it out, it was foul. My son got an order of "angel wings" and the chicken was cooked to leather and tasteless. The dumplings were okay, my daughter liked them well enough, and the hometown egg rolls were good, but certainly do not make up for the waste of $50 otherwise. Next time I'll wait until Monday and get Magic Kitchen.
Great food
Absolutely lovely everytime I go in to get food. Great atmosphere and yummy food.
Best Asian restaurant on the North End.
Great service, great food, very clean inside.
Good food great service
Not Real Thai food, some kind of Malaysian/Chinese.
They do not even use proper Thai Basil...
If you want authentic Thai, go elsewhere.
Awesome food!!!
Garlic Delight with chicken was very good, big portions!
Love this place! Huge portions for the price, good smoothies, very friendly staff and very clean. Sit down and takeout offered only; would give 10 stars if I could give them a try you wont be disappointed!!
Great as always. Tasty mainstream (American) Thai chain restaurant.
