Just had the Pad Se Euiy spicy. That was awesome hot. Typically asking for spicy and I get some pathetic American medium heat. This was Thai spicy! Great flavors. The lemongrass soup is aromatic and head clearing.

I think one of the best Thai restaurants anywhere. Dishes aren't as "oily" as many Thai places. Only accept cash, so be prepared, and it's a byob restaurant as they do not have a liquor license. They know how to make dishes hot when requested. I always stop when in town! Smaller menu selection, but awesome Thai traditional favorites!

I used to live in Springfield and my mom an I ate here alot. Its absolutely my favorite place to eat. Makes me feel like im at home again. We drive a total of 8 hours now to go here at least once a year just for the food. As i live 4 hours SE of Springfield now. Love it wish i could get just the recipe for what we eat so i didnt have to drive so far. Ive tried every Thai restaurant between home an around home an NOTHING compares or they dont do the same as in Springfield. Thank you so much for memories of me with my mom its treasured forever..

Delicious food at a great price.

Heard so much about the place so finally tried it out. Wasn't impressed. The portion size was good but neither of us were impressed by our meal. Lacked flavor, especially the Pad Thai.

Good food good service. If you like heat in your food you get it. If you dont get the mild.

They don't take cards of any kind, cash only. They didn't bother to tell us this until after we'd been on hold and then placed our phone order and then acted like we were the jerks for not knowing, just rude and hung up. Such a disappointment from what used to be my favorite place for Thai food.

I absolutely love this place!! The food is amazing and the staff are very kind people. You can even bring a cooler to drink at the restaurant. They are very accommodating to your meal modifications. I love the Chicken Chili Paste with broccoli and their Pad Thai!!

The service was very good . There 7 of us, seating was not a problem, and we each tried something different. I had chicken with chili paste, a little dry but had it a good taste. Others had penang which they said was good. Over all, a good experience.

Have not been to this Magic Kitchen location in many years as we usually eat at their second location closer to downtown. But the food is still SO GOOD. We had Spring rolls with peanut sauce, Pad Thai pork, shrimp and broccoli rice, with sticky rice, ice cream and peanuts for dessert. Only thing I noted is that they seem to be using honey roasted peanuts instead of regular peanuts for dessert ... I prefer the regular peanuts. But overall a very good meal! Y.U.M.! 😀

Excellent Thai Basil with shrimp! Chocolate cream pie was also the perfect dessert to follow a lovely meal. The waitress was the sweetest. We will be back, often!

Staff are friendly. However the food I order (garlic salmon) is very greasy although i like the taste, and come with no vegetables at all, but after request the chef give me extra veggie. They dont accept debit/credit as payment, and the food didnt look or taste like it should at all. It was very cheap and poorly prepared and didnt taste like any Thai food I’ve ever had, not to mention it was very overpriced. If im being honest, the iced tea was my favorite part of the meal. In fact, we didnt even ask for a box, since eating any more of the food would have prolonged our suffering that much longer. The waitress was however, kind, courteous and wonderful. The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review is because of the good service we received, and the fact that the restaraunt was clean.

I have enjoyed this place for years. You "bring your own" alcohol. Remember to bring cash too because they don't take credit or debt cards at this location. (hmmmm.) It is not a nice place inside by any stretch but it is clean and that it was is most important. I wouldn't want them to change a thing inside as far as remodeling because it would change the vibe and that is all part of the experience. The food is fantastic! The staff is really friendly and accommodating too. Easily the best Thai Food in town. If the father is cooking, watch out. He makes it HOT! I love that personally but some may not. Order accordingly.

A hidden gem on the north end of Springfield that everyone should stop to visit. Bring friends and your own drinks (alcoholic or otherwise). Parking can be pretty scant, but this place is absolutely worth it.

Great vegetarian food and our waitress was very friendly. The only problem we had was that the place was packed and the one waitress took a while to get back to us. We also didn't know they don't accept credit or debit cards, which is odd but not an issue with the restaurant.

Best Asian cuisine in central Illinois. It's got the super spicy meals and sweet treats. Plus it is byob.

Excellent food as always. Be careful though, medium is "straight jalapeno hot". Mild + has a little flavor kick if spicy is not your thing. Hot is hot.

Favorite restaurant. I love their Bume noodle and chili paste with broccoli! Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.

I don't like to give bad reviews, but this place was just the pits. It was very close-quarters dining at dinner rush and the food took longer than expected to come out. When the food did come out, it was soupy and lukewarm and smelled like wet dog, spilling off the plate. And the drinks, although both different flavors, tasted like hand soap.
To top everything off, we found out we couldnt pay with a card, it had to be cash. The workers informed us there was a sign on the door indicating this, but after a double check we found there was indeed no sign. We had to dig around for all the loose change we could find to pay.
This was a year ago, so maybe they've improved, but be warned about these things.

The hotter the better.

The vibe is good and the service is friendly but suggest that you stick with popular offerings and don't try seldom ordered items like Duck Curry or Tua Nawk-Si Kai which were disappointing for their lack of meat, tofu, variety and preparation.

This is my favorite restaurant. Ever. The food is easily the best Thai food I've ever had, probably the best oriental food in general. It's a little hole in the wall, the bathrooms are kinda small. The tables matching is a fairly new thing, but it more than makes up for all of these things with the food. Oh my God the food. Keep in mind that it runs on the spicy side, so if you're uncertain about whether or not you want spicy, go one level down from what you're considering. It's usually not too busy, but when it is busy, oh my God is it busy. Don't get the chance to come enough to figure out the busiest times though.
