Family-owned nook in a strip mall with a homey atmosphere offering traditional Southern Thai dishes.
I've been eating here for years and I recommend it to everyone! Everything I've tried here is amazing, especially the Tom Yum Soup with Chicken and the Pad See Ew Noodles (see pic). They make it exactly how you want from not spicy to your mouth is on fire spicy! Definitely a must try!
Take out food was fresh and ready when we arrived! All the dishes were finished so my family liked it! I just wanted to add that my vegetable dish was good but it seemed to lack flavor and sauce was thin. Would recommend and would come back. They are take out only now.
Food was fantastic! Will definitely keep ordering from here. By only comment is that the quantity is just a bit less. For example I ordered garlic and pepper curry with shrimp. It had only 5 shrimp pieces! I would have been happier with 8 pieces for what they charge for takeout! Not even restaurant dining. Overall quantity was just right but please provide more of the add ons for the price. Only 5 pieces of shrimp shumai for $9! Even that is very skimpy and expensive for takeout food.
Tried this restaurant for the first time and the the food was very average. Portions were very small for the price. Pad Thai was not flavorful. Basil chicken was better but still did not have the richness of flavors. Found it strange that they asked if I wanted to tip the guy who walked 10 feet to bring the food to my car. They don't have dine in so everyone has to pull up to the restaurant to get the food.

Pricey for the Qty of food they give.

Tom yum soup was great, pad Thai was also one of the better places I’ve had…. Not overalls sweet and had fresh ingredients.
Worst garbage food I ever had. These positive reviews are fake.

Not even open when they say they are..
excellent...

Unfortunately, they have only carry out. Stay shortage. But used to be nice inside.
Rude customer service and requesting credit card information over the phone which is prone to fraud. They can record card information and use it for other transactions. Ended up getting my food from somewhere else.
I got my food medium spicy and apparently to them it's SO spicy!!!
I struggled eating it, but it was so good that my nose was dripping into my food haha.
The beef salad is so good. I also got the drunken noodles with no meat. Both came out to $30, it is pricey!
Just beware on the spice.
The owner's son who works the front desk and answers the phone for orders is rude and disrespectful, even to his father. Too bad too, the dad works very hard to prepare great tasting meals and running the restaurant, but his son is a detriment to the business. So very very rude.
Don’t come here if you plan to dine in.
The food is good, but….. way overpriced. Also, not allowing anyone to sit inside and enjoy. Carry out only.
Despite specific instructions they delivered with no utensils, no sauce, no plates...and then would not make the situation right, just a lot of excuses. Foods not that good either...worst $50 I've spent in a while
Arrogant and rude delivery at the door of the restaurant. The management was equally ignorant when complained about the delivery guy. Food was extremely spicy, when clearly medium spiciness was requested. At the end, had to throw most of food.
Won't recommend the place or food to anyone.
Freshly prepared food.
Warning: management has total disregard for others
My friend, a women in her 20s, was getting harassed by some homeless people after she got off her train in the station next door. She walked into Thai Medallion and asked if she could wait inside for a few minutes while I came to pick her up. The owner kicked her out after she explained she was scared for her safety. Words cannot describe the lack of humanity the people running this restaurant have.
Amazing food and quality of Thai food. Also every dish is veggie friendly which is a huge plus and makes the restaurant even more appealing!
I was introduced to this restaurant this past June. I absolutely love their food. I went for my 5th time this summer. Since they do not currently have indoor dining, we eat on picnic tables at the plaza across the street. They always bring the food out to us. Highly recommend it.
Drove 1hr 30 mins to find out they only do take out think this is somthing they should put on there website very disappointed!!!!!!!!!
BEST THAI FOOD EVER. Crab rangoons and gyoza best i have had. Their fried rice was a tad greasy in the best way possible. It is flavorful and has a perfect texture. The basil beef is flexible with spice but without extra beef, is lacking. The staff is kind and has known our family since my college graduate sister was a baby. My go-to bday restaurant.
Our dinner was fantastic, will definitely go back again. Loved the mango rice for dessert too. Can’t wait until they re-open their dining room again. It was take out only when I went.
Absolutely amazing food!! Words cannot even begin to describe how good this food is. It’s just filled with so much flavor and everything on the menu is worth a try. My favorite restaurant of all time, no doubt. I would even give it more stars if I could!
The food here is fantastic. We have tried about 50% of the menu over the past 2 years. We moved within walking distance of this restaurant during the pandemic and it’s been our go-to for Thai. Ordering over the phone is super easy - make sure you ask for some of the hot sauce. It is delicious!!! The curries, noodles, soups, and appetizers - haven’t had a bad meal yet.
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Chicagoland area! Food is always tasty and hot (been here at least 30 times). These guys learned from the best, as I have eaten at their parent’s Thai Happiness restaurant for 15 years before they closed. The pad Thai, pad see ewe, pad kee mow, egg rolls, spring rolls, and Tom yum soup are all very good! If you haven’t had Tom yum soup before, then try it here (with chicken). The prices have gone up recently, making this one of the most expensive carry out dinners for my family of four. That said, prices are going up at all restaurants during pandemic times.
Yes, they are carry out only during the pandemic, so be ready with your credit card when placing an order. (Don’t give them one star because you called from the car and didn’t have your credit card ready).
Their customer service has been fine and they have always taken care of us.
I wanted to make a to-go order, and the guy who answered the call asked me for my credit card details over the phone. I said I was driving and I would pay at the store. He said he didn't want my business and ended the call.
I noticed from reviews that these guys are biased towards people of color. It is such a disgrace to eat here.
Disappointed by the customer service - they want you to pay over the phone for takeout credit card (which is okay- it’s a time saver) but I needed a minute or two to find my credit card and they just told me to cancel my order. 🤷🏼♀️
When it is good, the food here is excellent. They have a wonderful way of preparing tasty dishes. The spicing and flavor profile is unique. When it is good.
The problem is inconsistency. One week the good is great. The next? Maybe only a few pieces of chicken in the dish, the sauce might be watery. This makes it too unpredictable to depend on. This is a pity, because when it is the good version, the food is one of rhe better Thai choices in the area.
Extremely rude chef/manager and poor customer service. Dish description on the menu does not match the actual ingredients in the food leading to gross consumer deception.
Delicious, fresh southern style Thai
Google said it was open and when we got there it was closed for takeout only. Come on guys, keep it updated for the of whatever business you have left!
Good food, fast service
I moved to the Naperville area about 6 months ago and have been a regular here ever since until a few days ago. Last Friday, I called in to place an order for pick up. However, something came up and I had to take care of it so was unavailable to answer my phone. After it had been an hour since I called to place my order, the restaurant called me SEVERAL times and from a few different numbers as well. When I was done taking care of a personal last minute situation and remembered I had called in the food, I called the restaurant to sincerely apologize and was honest about the fact that I couldn’t pick up the food since I was now having to travel to the city. After being a consistent and reliable customer, an older gentleman with a heavy accent got on the phone and told me in a very rude manner to never come back here and do not call to place an order. I was not welcome to come back. They did not care why I was unable to pick up the food and I completely understand that this is a business BUT YOU DO NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS THIS WAY!! I will never come back and refuse to support this establishment. He should have been understanding and professional about it but did not care. I picked up my food as promised the previous 30 times but that fact was not a factor to them. Will not be returning or recommending this joke to my friends or family anymore!
Best Thai food in western suburbs. We are vegetarians and have been going here for a long time... Great food.. Great for carry out also...
Thai Medallion is consistently delicious with excellent customer service. We phoned our order in, and they brought it out to the curb, with no waiting time.
All over all the the foods are ok . We had fried rice, Pla Tod Nampla , Koong Tamarind , and Kang Som . If you looking for the place for a good fried rice . You can order from here . And the Kang Som was tasty as well as Koong Tamarind . But only thing that was very disappointed is the Pla tod Numpla . It is too expensive, not delicious and not thoughtful enough to put all the ingredients together.
In Thailand Pla tod numpla is not like this , we don’t serve with the gravy spicy sauce. But if there are tasty I will not feel bad but again it wasn’t tasty. They shouldn’t put this item on the menu .
First time here and the food was really good!
Plan on going back when I feel like eating Thai Food!
Owner with mental disability cant even communicate properly while operating customer based service. Will pray that they close soon
They have amazing food!
Best Thai food in Naperville!
I'd love to say that this place is a 5 star on the food quality alone but there are two parts to this review and I'd like to be fair and honest to the establishment and anyone curious about what to expect.
The food quality is something I'd consider a 4 out of 5. Not the best you'll have in regards to Thai food but they do a pretty good job of keeping things flavorful (I'd say one of their issues is somewhat greasier food than you would expect from traditional Thai). They do offer various spice levels with most of their entrees and I have noticed that asking for medium spice and extra spice can be the same in some cases and reversed in others - it's really a toss-up and so if you're someone who is sensitive to spice, you ask for no or low spice and you should be in a good spot (hopefully).
Food Quality - B+ (use less grease!)
Spice consistency - B-
Food Variety - A
The service, on the other hand, is where this place struggles. Not necessarily for most anyone in the business outside the young adult who seems to be a manager and potentially son/nephew of an owner.
On several occasions, they mistakenly gave us chicken pot stickers instead of veggie (we even took pictures and let them know). In some cases, they asked for us to return them, in some cases they offered a credit on the next order (never a refund on current order). We weren't too annoyed by this but after 3-4 times, it became somewhat a nuisance.
Fast forward to the 5th time we ordered (we were ordering from them once every 1-2 weeks at this point). I had ordered veggie pot stickers and mentioned that we had it messed up the past few times and the person on the phone said they'd make sure they're correctly made this time. I went in to pick it up and unfortunately the pot stickers were not even included in the order (and there was a charge for them, even though we had mentioned the ongoing pot stickers issue). So, this time I was curious why we were charged AND the stickers weren't included. The young adult mentioned that they had run out and he could refund us "if we wanted".
Well, I was more annoyed by this option and I was making a point about how we had not received our stickers and yes, I wanted a refund but also, why let someone order something and then come to pick it up only to not actually have the food included? He then said "ok I'm done" and walked away. At this point, he walked into the kitchen and an older adult came out and asked what the problem was. I mentioned that I had over the course of several visits continuously received the wrong item and he said that he had run out and at this point, he walked into the back, "found" some vegetarian pot stickers and came out and provided them to us. He said "you good now, boss?"
That was the last time we visited this place and at some point, maybe we'll go back as their food is good quality but the lackadaisical management causes me concerns.. if you can't treat someone you've wronged so many times with at least an apology or possibly refunding them for something you're not providing - you lack some basic business skills and it's evident from others on these reviews that mention that the management has been disrespectful or rude. Also, it might be worthwhile to have the young kid who claims to be a manager to go through some training because it'd be terrible to have this place receive poor reviews due to his behavior.
My wife and I ordered the Pork Pad See Ew and the beef drunken noodles. They were pretty similar and both delicious. Beef was juicier than the pork. Meat was lean for Asian food/the price which was a nice surprise. Very Covid friendly with their curbside service. Food wasn’t spicy so a little Sriracha was a nice addition.
Solid suburban Thai restaurant. The iced coffee is perfect, the noodle dishes consistently very good and the apps are well prepared. The ambiance is also nice though I only carry out from here.
oki
They have the best Thai food . Dishes are very authentic and flavorful.
Food tastes great!!
Great service and great food. Best Thai food in Naperville by far.
Ordered from them today and I ordered carry out and the owners son had a really bad attitude will not be ordering from them again!! Now I have to find a new Thai restaurant where my service is wanted and I’m not getting hung up on for no reason. They need better waiters with better attitudes.
We've been fans for years. Used to go to Le Siam, when it was open. Quality has been consistent throughout, though their chicken satays have become smaller with time :-(
Delicious and flavourful food. We've been ordering take-out quite frequently during the lock down.
Delicious food & attentive service. Spicy tofu could use more spice.
Consistently great! The best curry puffs!
Best Thai food around! Always happy with food and service.
We have eaten or ordered food there maybe 20 times
Last weekend.maybe Friday we ordered sweet sour chicken and drunken noodles with beef.
The beef was hard and dry and the dish was grossly over salted.
The wontons were half hard half soft.
Hopefully a one time bad day, but not a good sign.
Will come back, but former 4.5 star sinking.
Yummy food
I had just gotten off the train this evening and my friend picked me up and we drove by this restaurant - it is adjacent to the station - and she said she heard it was good. I said let's try it. So in we went, the only patrons in the place. The ambiance is nice and there are Thai pictures and artifacts all around on display. We ordered the shumai dumplings and there were six of them on the plate with a soy sauce. Really good.
Best Thai food in the suburbs. Thai Iced Tea was fantastic!!
Great food made to order in a very convenient area. I don't like spicy (hot) food, so I usually have a hard time finding places that can prepare the food how the client wants. They have done a great job accommodating my request without sacrificing flavors. There is so much to choose from.
Had the most delicious green curry from this restaurant. I love Thai food and I’m particular about flavor- and this green curry did not disappoint. The food was tasty and hot, and the rice was cooked properly as well. I ordered for take out 20 minutes ahead of arriving and really liked the ambiance of the restaurant when I picked up my food. Tucked away slightly outside of downtown Naperville, so I didn’t have any problems with parking. Can’t wait to go back soon.
We love this place. Great food and great service.
Good food and excellent service. Very attentive to gluten sensitivities and vegan requests. Will definitely go back when in the area again.
My wife and I love Thai food but haven’t found a real good Thai restaurant in the Naperville area, until we ate at Thai Medallion. Best in Naperville. It’s our fav neighborhood restaurant now. Excellent service, excellent food, well-prepared and well-served.
Authentic and very good food!
Very friendly staff, good ambience but the food is not tasty as Thai food ought to be.
Great food
I love this restaurant! The staff is very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions, and the food is excellent. I haven't tried anything I didn't like
I found this place by accident about 6 months ago. I’ve been ordering take out there ever since.
The food and service was fantastic! Best local Thai food I've had! Nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms. Wait is very informative on spice level. Had tom yum and tom kha soup to start, curry and pad thai for entrees. Special on margaritas were delicious
Good food
My wife and I absolutely love this place. Been here many times and I have only had great experiences. Quiet. Right next to the metro Station. that doesn't sound right but it is a wonderful place to sit and talk and enjoy a wonderful meal.
This has become my favorite Thai restaurant. Great staff and food was amazing
I love love this Thai place! It's definitely hard to find good Thai food in the suburbs but this place is great! Highly recommend!!
Perfect. Not crowded. Good food.😉👍
Enjoyed everything ordered and highly recommended for very good Thai food.
really good thai food
Nice atmosphere. Family owned & run, staff is friendly & knowledgeable. Food is delicious and priced well. Free street parking available.
Wow Really yummy dishes The spices are amazing. Spice levels are no joke. Christopher was an interesting, fun server.
I'd come back for more delicious dishes.
Been here a few times and even more times at their previous location on RT 59. The food has never disappointed, it is our go to Thai restaurant. This past weekend, we made the trek to the restaurant even though it is now much further for us than before. It was worth the drive because the food was delicious. If there is one thing that could have been better on this last visit, it would be the ratio of vegetables to everything else. It seems like the Pad Thai that we got had more vegetables than noodles. The dish was still delicious but we would have liked a better ratio of noodles and meat to vegetables. Other than that, very delicious.
Good food, strong drinks, beautiful atmosphere.
Great food
Amazing
Terrific food, reasonably priced. A quaint off the path place, to take your loved one for wonderful Thai.
Love the food
Love this place. Always fresh and fast. Best Thai place in the area and we’ve tried them all!
We have been regular customers for years. The food is always fresh and delicious.
I have been for a few times. The food was awesome and tasty. Some menu similar in Thailand. I recommended Pla-Kung
Wonderful place to eat
They have a coconut milk soup that is unbelievable.
The food we ordered for taking out was very sweet, like a dessert. The Pad Thai for our son was not spicy like ordered just sweet, we tried to eat it somehow, but we couldn't because of all the sugar. We ate Thai food in a lot of restaurants in the USA and Europe and always had well-spiced food. Usually, we are not the family who writes a review, but we were disappointed. The good about this restaurant is that the people who work there are very friendly.
Amazing food! Served fresh and made to order. Unbelievable fried rice! Highly recommend to everyone!!
Beautiful restaurant with delicious dishes, but BEWARE! Be prepared to get FOOD POISONING! I have no idea what temperatures my food was kept at or how long it was kept out prior to serving. However, I did notice that my rice arrived kind of hard, dry, and stale (NOT FRESH) and told a waiter that. My husband and I BOTH FELT A STOMACHACHE, but we dismissed it while we were leaving the restaurant. On our way home, we had to stop at a retail store to use the restroom! Yes, BOTH of us. I went to sleep thinking the stomachache would go away the following morning, but instead woke up sick and have been having a nasal congestion since then, which makes me wake up every hour that I try to sleep at night. My husband is recovering, but I am still sick.
Good service.. good food
I never visited thai restaurant untill this. I visited the place on my anniversary. My wife was happy to have such a delicious food. price very less... worth going there.
We had small get-together here and we loved the ambience and food. I will give 3.5 stars for food as compared to other thai restaurants i tried. This place is not visible and noticable easily from main Street.
Nice clean restaurant by the train station; food was just ok
Very good food (pad Thai) and service, even though it was heavy. Wish it was closer to downtown instead of the train station but good food and service
Ordered carry out. The meal was enough for two servings. With my allergies the chef was very careful to use proper ingredients, and cleaned the equipment before cooking my meal. The host/waiter was informative and patient.
Panang curry was old and tasting very bad with some kind of odor.
excellent food, very courteous staff, nice off location . has a bar with TV
Nice place food was good.
Really good, almost great.
very good food.. prices right and service is great.
Best Thai ever
Rich and flavorful! I love the Thai food here. My favorites: Basil fried rice with chicken and Green Curry. They actually were nice enough to make green curry with salmon... and it was fantastic! Not usually on the menu. They have a nice bar area too.
The best Thai food I have had. I have eaten Thai food all over the U.S A. Try the fish cakes. Cucumber salad. And have an ice cold tiger beer, in a frosty cold pislner glass. Oh and the a pad bamee noodle with tofu. This is the only place that makes this dish.
Great food and service. We have been going there for the past 15 years to their older location.
This place is a hidden gem on the south side of the 5th Avenue Train Station in Naperville. I randomly walked in one day & grabbed a menu. The restaurant looks great and very clean. I couldn't wait to try it out.
Finally, tonight I ordered food for delivery. It came quickly, and was piping hot.
I had the mixed vegetables & vegetable egg rolls.
Gotta say, it was great! Everything was prepared beautifully. I'm a happy customer and will be ordering again.
Glad to see a good Thai restaurant open here in Naperville.
Just get the croissants! They are amazing! Everything was sooo good, portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. By the way, the burger and onion rings lord have mercy! Y'all gots to go eat here. We need one of these in DC/MD area! This will now be on my list of must eat places when visiting Dallas!
10/10 best thai restaurant in naperville
We found a gem! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic. What a nice change of pace from the downtown Naperville dining scene.
Excellent Kang Massamon and Kang Keaw Won chicken. Thai Medallion Roti & ice cream was delicious - highly recommend it! Tom Yum soup was extremely spicy for our liking, ask them to tone it down. All in all a wonderful dining experience for a memorable occasion.
Great Service and Delicious Food!! We will definitely be back! Exterior of the building does not do the interior and overall quality justice.
Seated right away. Prompt and attentive service. Very pleasant experience in a relaxing environment and the food was delicious.
Great food, cool atmosphere. One of my go-to Thai places.
Best Thai food on the planet. Hands down..love their Pad Thai, Lad Nar and Basil Fried Rice
This place is great! The food is great best Thai food I have had since coming back from Bangkok, portions are right size, service is always good and it has very nice decor. Also they have Singapore tiger beer which is great! It's right by train station so it's a little bit away from hustle of downtown Naperville so it's usually not very crowded but it's a Gem worth going to if you like Thai food.
I'm a Seattle native who has worked with coworkers in Thailand and dined with them at authentic Thai restaurants in the Seattle area, many times off menu. When I travel on business I always search for authentic Thai food and rarely find it except for the west coast. Thai Medallion is by far the best of the hundreds of Thai restaurants I have tried across the USA. They have authentic Southern Thai food with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the drunken noodles (pad ke mao).
