Just an OK experience. They don't serve alcohol. The crab rangoons were ok, very cream cheesey. The pad thai was lacking tamarind or any kind of tartness/acidity, which made it unenjoyable, but otherwise decent. I ordered extra spicy but didnt notice all that much heat. It was hardly busy at all there, maybe 3 tables total. Our waitress didnt check on my table in a while, so by the time I coukd ask for chili oil I had like 4-5 bites left.

My husband and I came for dinner Monday night. Initially I hesitate to try this place as the entire place was empty but glad we walked in. We had Basil Tofu and Chicken, both dishes were delicious.

This is very cute and small family owned restaurant. The owners are very nice, felt like we are eating at their house. I will for sure come here again and bring friends too.

Diner Review №4

Ordered shrimp fried rice spicy for delivery. Long story short…small portion size that is not worth the price, and my food had no shrimp in it as well. Just rice veggies and big chopped tomatoes. But I would say that the food was delicious. That’s why I gave 2 stars

Authentic, fast, delicious.

Diner Review №8

Ordered delivery for the first time and now it's going to be my go-to for Thai food. I've been looking for a decent spot for a while, most places are good but this place is great. Massuman curry, duck soup, and the chicken wings were amazing. Tom kha soup with tofu - I was surprised that the tofu was fried - it was sooo good, it held a crisp texture. shrimp woon sen was flavorful and the shrimp was cooked correctly (not overcooked and tough) which is rare. Definitely recommend.

Diner Review №9

Got takeout from here and everything was super delicious and fresh including the pad Thai and pad see ew. We’ve been looking for a new Thai place and will definitely be back!

Local place that we wanted to try, food was great 👍

Great fresh food!

Diner Review №14

I've been searching for a good Asian food since I move to the area 5 years ago. This is it!!! Food was perfectly cooked, made with super fresh ingredients and was so, so delicious! It is a small family owned businesss too. Loved it!!! It will be my new go-to for sure.

Diner Review №15

Ordered for lunch and it was GENUINELY the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I ordered pad see ew, sticky rice with mango, crab Rangoon, Thai tea, shrimp shumai! Sooooo good.

Diner Review №16

The ingredients weren’t too fresh. Had sourness to it. If they are able to fix that, should be a nice Thai spot.

Som tum papaya salad - too much peanuts not enough green papaya , a bit more lime maybe better
Summer roll - fresh
Spring roll - sour tofu
Red snapper - sauce was tasty fish was old but given it is frozen hard to predict the quality
Green curry with beef - veggies all had a bit of sour to it not very fresh curry flavor was good
Pad Thai - quite sweet

Diner Review №17

Fast service and excellent dinner!

Diner Review №18

We ordered pad thai with chicken, pad see ew with beef and pad see ew with chicken.
Although, the food was not oily at all, the food was very bland. The chicken and the beef were overcooked and very dry.
Disappointed seeing it is rated 4.7. In my experience, I only rate this place as a 3.0

Diner Review №19

DONT order the Tom Kha soup. It is watery chicken broth with chicken a few sliced mushrooms and a splash of coconut milk. A mere half a$&!: Attempt at the soup. I am a chef. No effort was put into it..no red pepper…no lemongrass..no straw mushrooms and no attention to it. It’s chicken broth with chicken and a splash of coconut milk..what a joke. Spring rolls were average

Diner Review №20

consistent quality for years. Decent vegan options

Cleared my plate, very satisfied

Diner Review №32

Delicious food! I got the panang curry, and my partner got the glass noodle dish- both were amazing. Thai tea was perfect. Incredibly quick service. Food came out within 5-8 minutes. It was during a slow lunch time but still impressive. I am new to the area and this might be my new go to Thai place.

Diner Review №33

What an authentic Thai experience! Very friendly staff, clean and great food,

Diner Review №34

Great asian and Thai food. Wonderful service. Great seating and can accommodate large groups

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №37

"I had an exceptional delicious dinner last night. I ordered crispy fried mussel pancake, chicken satay, som tom and beef stewed noodle soup which was cook to perfection and busting with flavor each bite was a delight. The food was truly outstanding.

What really impressed me, however, was the attention to detail and commitment to using only the freshest, high quality ingredients. You can tell that the chef/owner passionate about their craft, and it shows in every aspect of the meal. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!"

Over all I highly recommend Chef of Siam to anyone looking for delicious, inexpensive authentic Thai food.

Diner Review №38

Lovely little gem

Diner Review №39

The food is delish, the chef's has excellent sauces. I've tried different dishes and they were all great.

Diner Review №40

Delicious and authentic! The food tastes really good and the prices are reasonable.

Diner Review №41

I’m pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and authentic the food was. The lard na brought me back to my childhood.

Diner Review №42

Every appetizer and entree we tried is absolutely fabulous! The service is great too…they’re kind and efficient! The chef has worked her magic with the food she creates!!! My favorite Thai restaurant ❤️

Diner Review №43

Diner Review №44

We have ordered from here a lot but this last meal was awful. I am not sure what happened but the food didn’t look like it normally did and did not taste good. Normally I love your crab rangoon but it was flat and all bread. The garlic chicken didn’t have veggies and the sweet and sour chicken was over cooked and really small. We had to order a pizza to eat dinner

Diner Review №45

Got the chicken satay appetizer and pad see ew as carry out on my way to my hotel. This is the best pad see ew I’ve ever had and it makes me mad I don’t live in Chicago! The satay is incredible too, charred wooden skewers so you know it was actually grilled. Wonderful peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Amazing meal!

Diner Review №46

Free parking, a clean bathroom, and nice staff. The food was good but a bit salty and too much gooey sauce and not enough food. The jasmine rice was sticky and not fluffy and clumped together. The lard na was barely much food, the crab salad was strange with a tiny black crab broke in half but we didn’t know how to eat it so I guess it was just for garnish? The fried tofu had a lot of batter. The seasoning was good for the tofu because it was sweet-and-sour. And we tried to order snapper but they ran out so we had fried tilapia with a thick and sweet sauce which I didn’t know was exactly Thai. Nice atmosphere to hang out with friends and family, but I wasn’t happy with the food. I would say the desserts here are good so if I come back here, it would only be for the dessert. And I liked the vegetable dish.

Diner Review №47

Diner Review №48

Very good food and generous portions. Been there few times for lunch, and service very inconsistent. Sometimes it takes a very long time to get the food out.

Diner Review №49

Very friendly service. The place looks a bit run down from the outside, but the food is quite tasty! The pad Thai was tasty, just a touch too sweet for my taste. The pad soon sent was terrific! The baby egg rolls were yummy and full of flavor. We had a green curry dish. The curry was delicious, but I didn't expect it to be so runny. I don't live close, but would go back if I were in the area. Great bang for your buck!

Diner Review №50

Top Thai place in the northern Chicago Suburbs.

Diner Review №51

Best Thai food I've ever had.

Diner Review №52

Best Pad thai and Curry !

Diner Review №53

Great food ! But man man do they pack them entrees half full, barely any chicken, shrimp , beef in the orders. I spent $133 on pickup for my family and they try to pack the entrees 60% full. This is not fair please add more meat to your orders especially when someone spends $133 !!!

Diner Review №54

Best Thai of the suburbs. My wife and I absolutely Love the food.

Diner Review №55

I ordered the tom kha with tofu. The only things in it were the tofu and some button mushrooms. Not much flavor and no tomatoes or onions as described. The tofu was also cut a bit large for a spoon and was fried, so it was hard to easily break into spoon-sized pieces. I also got the cucumber salad. The dressing was good, but half of it was iceberg lettuce. Not worth $5. The pad kee mao with chicken didn't seem to have any Thai basil in it (or tomatoes, as described) , so it was lacking flavor too. It could have used a bit of wok hei to bring out more flavor. I requested chopsticks with my order, but didn't receive any.
This last thing bothered me the most:
I have been boycotting food delivery "services". The website says that they offer delivery. I assumed it was through them because it didn't say otherwise. So I was quite annoyed when I got a text saying that the Door Dasher was on his way. Please be more upfront with your customers in the future. I won't be ordering again.

Diner Review №56

Very cute place, the food is better than we had in Thailand, very fresh.

Diner Review №57

Great food, nice friendly staff and clean surroundings. We are dining there more and more. Wife lowered her blood sugar level by eating this wonderful fresh and perfectly cooked dishes.

Diner Review №58

This was first visit and I am impressed with the food. Ordered ginger chicken and summer rolls. Both very good. Prices are reasonable and they have seating inside for dining in. I will be back! I am excited to try some more dishes. The people are also very nice and great service. As a side note, they do not serve any wine/beer/cocktails.

Diner Review №59

I have not been able to dine in with them yet. But I have been ordered with them a couple times. The food is so delicious. I am Thai and I can tell this is authentic Thai food in the area. Thank you for being here. Will definitely order more often and looking forward to come to dine in soon.

Diner Review №61

It's hard to find good pad thai. I took a chance on this spot and they do it right! I tried other dishes from this restaurant and they were all so good. You legit cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Their chicken satay is so flavorful and juicy. Their tom kha is addicting. My partner really liked it and thought it was good. We got shimp shumai, which his dad really liked too. I wish I took a picture but my phone died by the time I got there. It's pretty rare to find good Asian food. As someone who lived in Seattle and San Francisco, I'm always trying to find Asian restaurants that measure up. This place lives rent free in my head and I wish I lived closer. If I had a car, I would go here more regularly. It's so far my number 1 Thai spot in Chicagoland.

Diner Review №62

I just moved back to the area and discovered this lovely restaurant nearby. I love Thai food and my friend and I were ready to explore beyond out go to Pad Thai. We had two appetizers...spring rolls and crab rangoon....as well as two main dishes...Pad See Ew with chicken and Singapore Noodles with tofu. Everything was fresh and delicious. The seating was comfortAble, the staff was attentive and friendly. I will definitely return. They also seem to do a robust takeout and event business.

Diner Review №64

We were looking for a new place to eat Thai food and found this gem. We ordered potstickers, ginger chicken and pad Thai with chicken. All the food was delicious! Highly recommended. We will definitely go back!

Diner Review №65

Excellent food. The pad thai was the best I have tried and the curry was delicious. Authentic place, family owned and lovely people.

Diner Review №66

We were looking for some great Thai food in the area and we found it! Everything tasted amazing. We had the papaya salad (which was very refreshing and great accompaniment to the entrees), panang curry (very tasty), shrimp pad thai (really good), the fried catfish (was out of this world, going back to try the snapper) and for dessert we had fried bananas (so so good- like a banana donut). We will be back often to try everything on the chef's special. We are lucky to have this place.

Diner Review №67

The food tastes like good Thai home cooking. We shared chive dumplings, Nam Tok and Hoy Tod as appetizers. It reminds us of our time in Thailand. Also, had Pad Kee Mao and moo ping which were also delightful… not to mention the fact that prices are very reasonable. Can’t wait to go back to try some of the curries.

Diner Review №68

We went to this restaurant for the first time and for a birthday party . We are very satisfied with the delicious food and the very good service. Everything was fresh and tasty. We highly recommend this place for Thai Food .

Diner Review №69

Good food

Diner Review №70

Best Thai food in town

Diner Review №71

This was the first time I visited and it was such a great experience that I went back a week later to do a take out order. I asked the server what her favorite lunch dish was and she said Pad Kee Mao so that is what I ordered. It was fantastic and they used glass noodles which i ended up doing some research afterwards and not only do they taste better than other noodles they are more nutrious than the others. I had the dish with beef as that is my preference, but when I ordered the following week I ordered one of beef and other chicken along with an order of the chicken egg rolls. All of them were as good as eating the order in the restaurant. The food was so fresh and had such good flavor. The resturant is family owned and operated as both times I saw the owner who was extremely friendly. I'm wanting to go back and try more. This is my new go to place for great Thai food.

Diner Review №72

I joined my coworkers for lunch at Chef of Siam Thai Restaurant, and my initial concern about finding a vegan option was quickly put to rest. They are well-versed in vegan cuisine, catering to a sizable vegan clientele, which was a huge relief.

The restaurant had a cozy, typical Asian decor and a pleasantly quiet ambiance during our visit, allowing us to converse without raising our voices.

For my meal, I opted for the vegetable fried rice with tofu. It was a perfect choice for me, as I'm not a fan of dishes drenched in soy sauce. The tofu was impeccably marinated and grilled, with a satisfying texture, just like the veggies. The spring rolls, while small, were pretty good too.

The prices were fair, with my meal costing around $12, and I savored every bite. I appreciated the well-balanced flavors, and despite the generous portion, it didn't leave me feeling overly stuffed.

I'm definitely planning to return to this spot in the future.

Diner Review №73

Very good curry, Rangoon and garlic chicken. Rice was perfect too.

Diner Review №74

I ordered carry out after reading all the positive reviews. Definitely lived up to the hype. My food was on point. I’ll be back!

Diner Review №75

Very good food. Authentic Thia.
Very attentive waitress

Diner Review №76

Wow! Food was absolutely delicious! Stopped in for the first time after a long day. We started with chive dumplings and Thai egg rolls. For our entrees, we had Cashew chicken and Pad See Eiw. All dishes were scrumptious!
We'll definitely be back to try out more of the menu. Highly recommend stopping by!

Diner Review №77

Diner Review №78

Ended up here on a whim and glad we did. The fried rice may have come out first, followed by the wrong egg rolls, and then one entree after another with the white rice for the first entree dish finishing it off. There was only one server, she was super nice and did a great job but it was hopping so she was busy!

We cleared most of the plates. Very tasty all around and everything was definitely fresh. The egg rolls were great, Pad Thai had a nice subtle kick, beef and broccoli was good, and the crispy chicken w sauce was absolute fire (that alone was worth it all).

If they have a downfall it will be staffing. The food isn’t the problem. When we left more tables than not had dirty dishes on them. All considered, I’d go here again for sure.

Diner Review №79

I went to see the review, but I didn't understand why the review was so good.

Diner Review №81

Finally, I can end my search for the best Thai restaurant near Glenview. Excellent food and value!

Diner Review №82

Everyone told me to try Thai food. This is such great food, such great people... for sure, it's going to be a frequent stop. I can't get over how much I enjoy this family-run restaurant. PLEASE check them out.
(They cater to any food allergies)

Diner Review №83

Best thai food

Diner Review №84

Glad this place is here. We went because we heard there were halal options on the menu. Per the owner most of the chicken items use halal chicken, but you can clarify when you go if that’s what you are looking for. We had pad Thai chicken, thai fried rice, green curry and the thai iced tea. All were excellent and had an authentic taste. I hope the owner considers using other halal meats on the menu so we have more options to try, or even getting halal certified, we would love it

Diner Review №85

New owner. Same excellent food and service at the location. Friendly family oriented atmosphere. Owner is a season chef. We had yellow curry, tom yum soup, garlic ck, shrimp in blanket, salad and tom kha. All tasted delicious. Priced accordingly.

Diner Review №86

I see the hand made signs, that is what prompt me to stop by. The food is good.

Diner Review №87

Saw a good review of the restaurant on google. It looks like a family owned restaurant, which is good. The place is clean. Food was delicious ( ordered ice tea & Thai coffee ) I should have asked for no salt on my edamame, pot stickers were okay. Pad see we & Thai fried rice was awesomely good. Sticky rice & mango for dessert is a definite yes. Price is right. Would definitely be back. Highly recommend this place.

Diner Review №88

Ordered the yellow curry, pad see ewe, and crab rangoon. Loved the darker/richer sauce for the pad see ewe and the yellow curry was loaded with chicken, which some places can be skimpy about. Both were excellent. The crab rangoon were very crispy and had the perfect ratio of cream cheese and crab. Will definitely return and recommend to others!

Diner Review №89

Good food with reasonable prices.

Diner Review №90

Love the home-made sign on the building's front, next to which is a giant "Grand Opening" sign. The home-made sign accurately reflects the family atmosphere here. It's warm and genuine and extends to this restaurant's excellent service.

The food was fine but the shrimp in a blanket appetizer in particular was very good. Only suggestion is to add more hot spice to dishes when requested, like we had, OR, as Tom suggests in his "Response from the owner," offer Chili Powder or Chili Oil on the side, which offer was not made at our visit.

Also, perhaps whatever spice is added is offset by an overabundance of sugar, and/or the local consumers' need for heat is greater than anticipated.

Tastes aside this restaurant had a lovely interior. And don't change that home-made sign! It's beautiful.

Diner Review №91

Everything about this place was great. Amazon food, clean place, and friendly staff. They do have Halal options! Hard to find Halal Thai food.

Diner Review №92

Love the new Thai restaurant in this location. I had the Tom Kah soup and Pad Thai. My parents had Pad Woon Sen and Massaman Curry. Wow, all the dishes were so flavorful. Portions are big, compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. I will come back.

Diner Review №93

I have been looking for a new Thai place for some time, I found it!

The staff is great and friendly. House made sauces, spices, and style. This place is going to explode in popularity when people find out about it!

Diner Review №94

Wow!!! The food was fantastic, authentic and made completely in house (some of the best I've had outside of Thailand). The service was excellent! I've been looking for a go-to Thai place for years after my old favorite closed. My search is definitely over. Chef of Siam is hands down "the one."

Diner Review №95

Diner Review №96

Stop looking at other Thai places and eat here

Diner Review №97

I am very impressed with the new owners of this establishment. It's a different family owned Thai restaurant with pretty much the same menu and decor. But from my perspective that's a very positive thing. I've been coming here for the past ten years and was initially saddened when I discovered that the previous restaurant closed down. I decided to drive by and noticed the new sign. I order my favorite dish - the duck noodle soup- and was pleasantly surprised that it was as delicious and aromatic as I've grown accustomed when it was under previous ownership. The service I received was very warm and friendly. I will definitely be returning here. I wish the new family the very best of luck and much success in their new enterprise.

Diner Review №98

Family owned and authentic taste! Super good food with a great chili oil.
Coming back again

Diner Review №99

We are from NY visiting our cousin and wanted Thai for dinner and stumbled across this gem. Our party of eight had seven different dishes and all of us were extremely happy with our dishes. My chicken green curry was absolutely yummy and rivals all of my fav places in NY and NJ. THIS PLACE IS A MUST VISIT and you'll find your Thai go to place.

Diner Review №100

Amazing food and amazing service! The Pad Thai was flavorful and the servings were plentiful. The crab rangoons were to die for! 10/10 would recommend.

Diner Review №101

My wife and I decided to eat here for the first time based on an almost solid 5 star rating on Google. Our server, who was wonderful, told us that her family opened the restaurant just the month before. But they are not new to the business having owned restaurants in two other Chicago suburbs in the past. It was 3:00 PM and not busy so we got a lot of attention. The owner came by to check on us as well. The food details: we ordered chicken satay, cucumber salad, Pad See Eiw and Massaman Curry. Everything was beautiful, fresh and delicious - and reasonably priced. I overheard the server welcome another customer by name. That tells me two things... They're good enough to get regulars and they treat their customers as people not just business. We will definitely tell family and friends and be back again.

Diner Review №102

Ordered the pad Thai. Always want some flavor. Some can be so bland. This had a surprising little kick to it. Not hot but perfect enough to make it extra good! Will be back!

Diner Review №103

Great new Thai restaurant! Highly recommended! Food and portions were excellent! The staff which are the owners are wonderful and very sociable. Will definitely be back!

Diner Review №104

I like that it's authentic flavor and the ingredients are solid. Nice variety and caring owner. She thanked me and asked me to give feedback on the food directly to her so they can meet the needs of the community. I thought food was good and so did my husband, kids and parents.

Diner Review №105

Really good and authentic Thai food with very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Diner Review №106

Diner Review №107

This was one of the most authentic places I've been to outside of Thailand.

The Papaya salad had crushed crabs...authentic to street foods offered in Thailand.

The Tom Yum soup large was extremely spicy and I could not eat it...a loss of $10.95

The Soup with coconut...was tasteless but had quality ingredients in it.

The yum woon sen (bean thread salad) was full of noodles and fresh quality ingredients....authentic but lacked flavor like they forgot to add the sauce...both were like that.

I am not going to knock the restaurant much more other than they are brand new and really take pride in their menu with the utmost fresh ingredients and passion behind their cooking.

I will give them a few months until I try again...I realize they just opened and things are a bit confusing. Its truly a family business...I think I got to meet everyone...confused dad looking for his tablet...daughter listening to loud rap...son walking around like he doesnt belong with a task...mom...she's the go getter cook and amazing at that.

I wish them well...easy on the spice in that soup...wow was it spicy...never in my life have I had something so killer spicy...again...quality ingredients...most authentic...I wish you all the grand success and thank you for my meal.

I recommend it all once they get it together!!

Diner Review №108

This long-running location is now operated by a warm and passionate veteran of Thai cuisine who is happy to share insights to the dishes. The Pad See Ew, Green Curry, and Spring Rolls were made to perfection. As it just (re)opened, I look forward to completed touches of ambience to make this perfect for date night. This is a genuine family business that I am happy to support. The question is: will Mel's hip street-food options make it to the Specials?

Diner Review №109

Absolutely fantastic Thai cuisine! Each dish was a delightful surprise, from appetizers to main courses and desserts. The Pad Thai was especially mouthwatering!
