Eat delicious food. Grab a drink. But most of all, relax! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support.
Very friendly staff. The food was tasty (I got the Spicy Udon Pad Thai with Crispy Chicken) BUT β¦ although it was good, it was NOT AT ALL spicy. In fact, it was too sweet IMO. I expected it to have at least some spiceβ¦ Regardless, I would order from here again. I tried this because it was your signature dish but I would try something different next time (or ask you to actually make it πΆοΈ). βΊοΈThanks
If you're in search of tasteless and overpriced food, look no further, this will be your place!!!
On my first and last visit, I decided to play it safe and ordered pad kee mao (drunken noodles), but to my disappointment, it was incredibly poorly prepared. The portion size was small, mostly just oily noodles, the dish lacked flavor and spice, and they even charged an extra $3 for a few small pieces of beef. I could have easily replicated the same taste by tossing flat noodles in oil, and for a fraction of the cost.

Best padthai and the vegan options are amazing! My new favorite take out place. The staff were extremely nice! 10/10 must try!
I went to this restaurant for lunch..O had potstickers which were crispy and yummy, Tom yum soup which originally had too much fish sauce, but they gave me clear broth to add to the soup and that made a huge difference! It was delightful! My hubby had the red curry and he loved it, I had the crispy pad thai and it was so good. Overall, the food was good and the service was great. I'd definitely go again.
First time trying them out. Ordered some apps, soup & entrees. Had to go back because they forgot to give us my husbands white rice. Mistakes happen, totally ok. We got home and tried everything and it was all so delicious. Will definitely be back soon!!!
Donβt let all the tables and chairs fool you, you cannot βdine-inβ at this place. After struggling to open the extremely heavy front door while the owner watched me struggle from the counter, I almost gave up because I thought they were closed. It took another muscly male patron to get a hernia opening said door for me to actually get inside. I sat down at a table only to be abruptly told by the man working that there was βno dine inβ service. I gestured toward the 4 or 5 sets of empty tables and asked what all those tables were for? I was told those were for βweddingsβ. So I guess if you have an entire wedding reception with only 8 to 10 guests you would be welcome to dine in. I asked if it was okay for me to sit and wait for the friend I was meeting so we could go someplace else and he repeated βno dine in!β Iβd also like to add that their website states that you can βEat delicious food. Grab a drink. But most of all, relax!β To me, relaxing means sitting down. Not running back and forth to my car in the rain and still being hungry. My friend arrived and luckily a large, strong man was leaving so we were able to get out and head to Thai First (also in Downerβs Grove) where we felt welcome and had the best Thai Food ever. I donβt want to knock the food at Thai Cafe, because years ago we were actually able to dine in and I remember the food being good, but itβs been awhile, hence the 3 stars.
The red curry is not spicy. It is very sweet. The crispy triangles have no flavor. Disappointed.

Good food and nice staff
Food poisoning . Both of us.
Do not eat here!!
This is a small takeout restaurant with four two-seater tables so this review is not based on atmosphere or service even though the place is cute. Best Pad Thai I've ever had, hands down. Noodles were clearly freshly made, sauce was flavor some and not overly sweet, well Incorporated throughout the entire dish. Excellent. Tom Kha soup was perfect, we got an extra container to go. Owner is lovely.
I ordered a pad Thai and was the most plain dish ever. Disappointed
Five stars, nothing less, possibly more !!!
our go to place for carry-out Thai
Delicious and flavorful! Great service!
First time carry out based on reviews snd did not disappoint!
Spicy udon pad Thai with crispy chicken and pot stickers. Fantastic!!!
I will be back and share with others!
She was great. Didn't catch her name, but I did catch the fire food.
This is my go to Thai place, try the crispy pad thai, very good and intersting dish you dont find at all thai places, baby bags are great as well although I think they may call them by a different name now, guessing someone got offended. I will say at times it can be hit or miss, owner had mentioned at one point touble finding cooks but overall the place is very good
My to go for take out Thai food. Fresh and good quality ingredients. Authentic Thai.
Best green curry I've ever had!
Missed this spot for awhile but recently came back. Food still fire like always πππ give them a checkout. FAMILY OWNED AND RESPECTABLE BUSINESS. They will take care of you. Much love and blessings. β

I ordered the mussaman curry with chicken. Sooo delicious. My wife had the wonton soup & loved it.
This is my new favorite carryout Thai food of all time.
I got pad Thai, Penang curry, chicken satay, and the crab Rangoon. The pad Thai was good, not much to it. The Penang was really tasty, very coconutty and soupy. I added broccoli and carrots for $3 more. The chicken satay was good, the chicken didnβt have a crazy amount of flavor on its own, and the crab rangoons were not good. They needed to be fried more, and the filling was just ok. Overall itβs pretty good and the customer service is good too. Definitely worth trying
We get takeout from here frequently because the quality and taste of the food here are both incredible. Also, the staff are so friendly. We love this place!
Poor service
Best panang Curry and soups!!!
Quality food! Delicious
Small place but good food at reasonable price, except for the $3 surcharge for beef. Nice staff and food fresh food.
Tasty food. Good vegetarian options. Most dishes can be prepared with Tofu and soya sauce. We went for lunch and quite happy with the choice.
Didnβt like the fishy taste, no bathroom, heavy door, extremely oily noodles dishes, had to walk elsewhere to use the wc, tum yum was thw worst Iβve had, very stingy with the vegetables
Good for takeout. I tried their pad thai. Generous portions, but not much flavor. Hardly any egg or peanuts, which seemed odd. Very friendly staff. There is hardly any seating, so definitely a to-go location.
Iβm Thai and I love this restaurant. Recommend Kao soi that is the best for me in my opinion. If you like spaghetti you will love this. Yummy!!
Love this place! Quick and delicious. Out go-tos are pad Thai and the veggie egg rolls.
First time ordering from Thai Cafe- Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were really delicious. The veggie spring rolls were fantastic. I was not disappointed. Would recommend this place.
My favorite Thai place, I've missed it since I moved away.
I went to this restaurant for lunch..O had potstickers which were crispy and yummy, Tom yum soup which originally had too much fish sauce, but they gave me clear broth to add to the soup and that made a huge difference! Beef salad was very good. Authentic Thai flavor, choice steak. Very nice.
Great food. The beef salad was particularly good!
Good stuff, a bit pricey but what isnβt these days - best Thai in Downers.
Delicious Thai food. We ordered the Crispy pad thai and the Massamun curry. Both were superb! Will definitely return!
The Spicy pad thai is sooo spicy. I was also sooooo good. We enjoyed the veggie egg rolls and the gyoza as well. Great portions. Fast prep!
Easily some of the best Thai food in the Chicagoland area. Some of the most authentic I've had. The Kao Soi is incredible. I do find that I have to order it a little less spicy than "thai spicy" they really make it hot! Such a great place overall!
Excellent! I'm always so skeptical of a new Thai place because most are never really any good. Also skeptical of reviews and what other ppl consider good food. (Thanks, mom, for making me this way!! ππ€) Food was fresh and outstanding! Will definitely be coming back.
Being Thai, I tend to stay away from Thai restaurants in general cause there usually horrible. My wife wanted some Thai food and we pass by Thai Cafe often. The gentleman there was very nice. We ordered the Larb Kai, chicken Pad See Eiw, chicken satay, and Thai chicken fried rice. Everything was good. Iβd definitely recommend Thai Cafe and will be back again soon. Price wise itβs reasonable for a suburban Thai restaurant.
Truly flawless. Maybe the best Thai food I have ever had. Usually Thai food is delicious even when it is far from perfect but the pad thai and panang curry from Thai Cafe is literally perfect.
Small family owned Thai place that has by far the best Thai dishes I have ever eaten in the greater Chicagoland area. I love that they take into account food allergies and donβt serve peanuts in their dishes. Nicely spiced and seasoned food. Their service is fantastic as well! Highly recommend trying it out!
Great food! Pad Thai is awesome!
The food and service are good.
Wonderful food! We always get the pad thai with chicken and it is always amazing.
My favorite take out spot in Downers Grove. Quick and delicious.
My family just loves this place. We really love the red, massaman, panang curry and the Rama delight and garlic pepper. You really canβt go wrong! Our favorites place for takeout. My wife is a vegan too so itβs great that all entrees come with choice of protein and she can get tofu.
Excellent and quality foods, and good service
Best Thai in the western suburbs by a mile. Very friendly owners and fresh quality food.
Terrible! Had to wait 40 minutes for my order then to find out they didnβt have the noodles for one of our items. They didnβt even apologize. I ended up canceling my order. I wouldnβt even give them a one star.
2nd time ordering from this place because the first time was a good experience. Second time not so much. For starters food was cold and they have basically changed the containers to about half the portion of what they used to be. Very small portions of food for the amount of money you pay per order. Not sure why my tax rate was so high as I calculated the sales tax in Downers Grove is 6.25% but for some reason I was charged about 10% tax on my order. Not cool. Very disappointed. Wonβt be going back to this place. May i also add that I placed an order about a month ago online and I show up to pick up the order which had already been paid for online, large office order to be exact. Almost $200 and I show up to pick up the order and the restaurant was closed, I knocked and knocked on their door and nobody ever opened. Very weird, I guess I shouldβve learned from that experience but I gave them the benefit of the doubt as they did refund me the next day but it was a waste of my time to even drive there and wait 20 mins for no one to come to the door. This place is weird. Will definitely stay away.
Recently moved to the burbs from the city trying to find a good Tom Kha. I saw this place had a ton of amazing reviews so I figured I'd give it a try. Really sad to say that I wish I didn't waste my hard earned money on absolute slop. I ordered two Tom Kha's with NO chicken, only veggies. I also ordered the egg rolls with their noodle dish with peanut sauce. When my order arrived, everything was cold. As if it's been sitting out for hours. The noodle dish was soggy. the peanut sauce was a bit hard, the spring rolls were not as described & my tom kha had a bunch of chicken in it. I called the Restaurant and they tried saying we never ordered from them. The guy was arguing with me so rudely on the phone saying that I didn't order from them and if I did it was Grub Hubs fault. I tried explaining that my receipt said exactly what I ordered but it wasn't what I got..and that isn't grub hubs fault. After 5 minutes trying to explain to the guy on the phone that it was their mistake..he said he would deliver another order made exactly how I requested & hung up on me. Well, not shocked, never got it. Won't be ordering from here again.
****EDIT******
They actually showed up to my house with a new order. Because of this I will up the one star to 3
Great place for Thai food
Great food, WHEN THEY ANSWER THE PHONE. Good luck trying to place a take out order, usually takes 4 phone calls for someone to answer.
Garlic Pepper Shrimp was horrible. Felt like I was eating boiled shrimp and vegetables.
Pretty good quality and freshness.
1st time ordering from here. The food was ready in 10 minutes and piping hot. The vegan Pad Thai and the beef with vegetables were delicious. We would definitely order from here more if we lived in the area. Well done!
Great carry out
Best pad thai and fresh spring rolls.
My fiance and I honestly order from Thai Cafe once or twice a week because we absolutely love the authentic taste of their food and a very reasonable price! Try the cashew noodles!
Delicous curry!!
The pad Thai is AMAZING!! 10/5 recommend
Curbside pick up. Amazing food. Supporting local businesses!
The Penang curry is so good it could end all wars.
The food is very good and it's prepared for you
BBQ pork fried rice is epic and sebastian Osorio is lying, he loved the red curry
Pretty cool
Great Thai food! Love the Pad Thai & spring rolls
Wondering customer service, amazing food great quality and delicious! π
This place has the best Thai food π₯β€οΈπ especially the vegetarian Penang Curry
The crispy pad Thai came off a little too soft. The beef was just okay. I'll have to try other things on the menu. It is pretty pricey
I tried Thais Cafe for the first time this Mothers Day, based on reviews. The aromas wafting out to the parking lot immediately confirmed it was a good choice, despite it being incredibly busy.
Well worth the wait, which many restaurants experienced that day, when the volume of online orders exceeded capacity.
Despite that
crunch, every item I ordered was prepared perfectly, even down to a special request on one of them. Looking forward to next time. Maybe tonight, now that Im thinking about it.... seems longer than three days.
Really great Thai food. This is one of our favorite spots in downers grove!
One of the most excellent beautifully flavored Thai places from all around the world. I've been frequenting here for the past 14 years and love it! My friends from the Far East also think this place is one of the best. Their meat is cut thinner and have only good cuts! Personal favorites, pad ki mao, Tom yum, red curry and basil fried rice, yum! And of course Suppanika is awesome!
Green curry chicken was delicious, just the right amount of hot spice.
Fake reviews
Great little place. Very good food and friendly staff
The best Thai restaurant that I have found in the suburbs. Love their food. Super nice people who own and operate the restaurant.
Love the chicken rice soup!
I regularly come here for my Thai cravings. Excellent food!
Food is fresh and expertly cooked. Price is inexpensive.
Excellent food (particularly curries) and a very friendly staff. Some of the best Thai food weβve come across in the Chicagoland area!
Super good food! Call ahead of time for pick ups if you are on a short lunch! Lunch specials are amazing
Very good food, fast service and friendly
Your typical American flavored Thai place. Itβs a nice place to walk to to pick up dinner. Not great not bad. Make sure to ask very specifically about every allergen you are concerned about. Shellfish & eggs are frequently used. Or keep your epi pen close by.
The people who run the place are really sweet. Just maybe not so aware of their clientsβ allergen concerns. I guess what would help is if they listed these things one the menu.
So delicious foods
Tasty dishes with variety. Not much dining space inside but would highly recommend for takeout or delivery. The soups are fantastic when you're feeling under the weather!
Great food
Absolutely delicious! We order every Saturday. Our two favorite dishes are the spicy basil leave with chicken and the spicy Szechwan chicken. Be sure to add an order of Thai baby egg rolls yum!
Best Tai Food in the West!! Baby Bags= Yum
Food was really good, eating area is very limited.
Great food! I ordered the Pad Woon Sen. It was great. And they actually made it as spicy as I requested. I will definitely be ordering again.
Small tidy place with really good food and the portions to back it up.
Not real Thai food experience. Most Thai food I've had all over united states is browned with a heavy sauce and spice. I had 3 dishes, and they all were soggy and bland. The minimal seating is not pleasant, no bathroom to use. I would consider this to be a take out place. Price is very low and quality is acceptable for what you pay for. For the price I would give 4.5 stars, but if you don't mind paying $15 a plate and you expect a nice Thai food, I wouldn't recommend this place
This was the first Thai restaurant Iβve been to and after trying out other Thai restaurants in Illinois, I would go out of my way to get to this place. I love how their food tastes and Iβve never gotten food poisoning here before.
Seafood Pad Thai is the best I have ever had!
Favorite Thai place in the 630
Favorites here include panang curry, veggie Thai soup, and the Thai veggie baby eggroll. I don't much care for their seafood. The folks who run it are super nice, the service is quick and the prices are reasonable. No dine-in space really; just one table and some stools at a counter. Mostly takeout π₯‘ and delivery π
Decent Pad Thai but nothing special. Did not use typical indigenous Tai ingredients like a good Thai restaurant should
The BEST Panang curry chicken I have ever had! The Crab Rangoon and the Chicken Satay were amazing. I would say it's the best Thai place in the Chicagoland area for the price.
Phenomenal food! The Panang Curry is one of my favorite dishes! The only down side to this place is that itβs primarily carryout.
Fast service and terrific curry.
Love this place! Always great food and friendly faces!
A catering order was placed and delivered, Andy was amazing and worked with me. The food was amazing and so was Andyβs service! But an older delivery guy gave me my receipt and asked me for a tip before it was given so rude!!! Hopefully Andy got the tip!
Friendly owners. Great prices. The red curry was very good. The pad Thai was tasty but lacked traditional toppings.
Been taking out from here for about a year. The food and service is consistently good.
I enjoy the red curry, pad kee mao, basil fried rice and veggie soup
Best Thai in the Western Suburbs. They are friendly too
Favoriteeeeee!!
Visiting, I noticed a shortage of Asian food that isn't fast food affiliated. I had seen Thai Cafe the last time I was in town and this time I decided to stop in. I was so pleased to see several vegetarian options, including a vegetarian broth based soup. It was SO good! I also ordered the thai spring roll and found it to be really delicious and presented in a pretty manner. I did dine in, which is an option I don't think many opt for as there are only about two tables. The employee behind the counter was very friendly, taking my order, offering suggestions and serving my meal. I will definitely come here again. I am excited to try some of the main dish items.
Great food at a great price
Great panang curry here. Friendly staff. Will visit again.
Some of the best Tom Yum soup I've ever had. The chicken was extremely fresh, and the flavor was outstanding. Just enough spice to make it enjoyable, and an excellent mix of cilantro and onion to give it some extra kick.
Ordered delivery to my hotel, a very nice man delivered right to my room 10 minutes early. Best pad thai I've ever had! Wish I lived in the area just so I could order from here again!
Nice people. Great food. Good prices.
SLOW call order in if not 20 min to place order 20 to get order
Great place. Very convenient and fast. Great food, my wife's favorite.
Great Thai food. Favorite dishes include pad khe Mao, res curry and cashew noodle chicken.
Was looking for a place to eat, everywhere seemed lackluster.. and then I realized it's because this place will always be 5/5 top Dolla numba ONE!!!
Greatest green curry in the greater Chicago area, every time I have a chance to stop by I do.
Great thai food, every time.
