Laid-back Thai restaurant serving satay, dumplings, salad, curry, noodle dishes & stir-fry.
This place consistently impresses! My wife and I have visited a few times and sampled various dishes. The portions are generous, and the pricing is competitive. The staff is always extremely helpful and attentive. I highly recommend the Mango Catfish—it's one of the few menu items in the area that I genuinely crave.
The food here is amazing! When I come to eat here, I like to try different things but it is never disappointing. The way the food is described on the menu is exactly how it tastes. The owner knows what he is doing to run a business while serving quality food! He provides fresh ingredients every day which shows his dedication to the restaurant and Passion to providing succulent meals that provide good portion sizes of food. I have been to few Thai-food places, but I would say this is my favorite!
Definitely a nice quality Thai restaurant especially for a small town like DeKalb kind of remote. Not the best I have had and have eaten at many many Thai restaurants around the world, but very good especially with certain dishes. Their cucumber salad appetizer is quite tasty....the papaya salad is nice too minus the shrimp for vegetarians. Normally it doesn't come with shrimp in most places but this does so be aware. Their Pad Thai is good but not great....won't order that dish again. Their pad se ew is very nice though....not the best I've eaten but very good. Their tofu satay is yummy too.
A great place to have in DeKalb for sure.
As my very first experience with Thai food, this place was amazing. I’m currently learning all I can about the Thai culture, and my mom suggested we try this place. It was so tasty, the people were so friendly, and I plan to come back and experience more of their delicious dishes.
Just looked at my bill from lunch today for 5 people. I did not notice or was told by waitress that a 18% gratuity was all ready added in. So when the credit card receipt was presented to me I added another tip ! So the waitress got $16.86 PLUS $21.58 for a total of $38.44.
Watch your receipts. I don't think I will be going back. I will have to check this every time I go out to eat.
Delicious Thai in the middle of downtown Dekalb. The servings are big, the flavors are good. I think some dishes could have more spice. The spicy eggplant and Pad Kee Mao are good, but don’t have the expected kick. The Panang was delish but not as thick and creamy as usual.
The Green Curry was flavorless and watery. I ordered it "Thai Spicy"....yeah right. Also was missing eggplant. Absolutely not worth $17. Eggrolls were not fried enough and so they were pale in color & soggy on the inside - $9 for 3.
No thanks and never again!
EXCELLENT food, very traditional and clearly made with heart. All of the staff were incredibly nice and didn't mind visiting and hearing what you had to say. Decor is ever so slightly dated (drop pannel ceilings, old carpet etc) but this is more an issue with the building and all the ornaments adorning the wall are very tasteful and help sell the authenticity. Absolutely a return for my family and i, and i highly recommend anyone in the local area to give it a try!

Always a good time
It's Delicious! I love it! I need the Masaman Curry
Really love this place. The service is always fast and friendly and the food is delicious. The Pad See Ew (beef) was fantastic tonight.

Best Thai food I've eaten since moving to the Midwest! Amazing!
Changed the recipe for pad Thai and now it's flavorless and not worth the money at all. It used to be awesome and I loved it.
Easily the best Thai food I’ve ever had. So flavorful and the service was very attentive. The atmosphere is cute as well.
Amazing food, top notch service. Saturday night dinner hour and the place was not packed. It should have been. It was great.
This place is way overpriced for the amount and quality of food you are getting. I’m going to just assume that it’s just the town seeins how all the mediocre crap in this town is priced double of what it’s worth. Travel to Rockford you can find just as good if not better food for a much cheaper price.
Friendly and quick service. Food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended
Thank God for Thai Pavilion being around and open Christmas Day! I didn't feel like eating anything but Thai food yesterday.
The Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodles) or (Crazy Noodles from the Thai Pavilion during the years of 1994-2005) is dynamite. I normally get Green Curry Tofu and Nam Tok with Chicken. (It normally is with beef but the one time I gave the chicken a chance it was amazing so I have ordered it like that eversince.) I also get the non sweet sticky rice to dip the flavorful sauce with to take advantage of every delicious bite.
My mom got the Pad Prik Khing with Chicken and we were delighted because that was the aroma and taste of Thai food on Sundays at a Buddhist Temple worldwide.
I loved the Mango with Sticky rice and the Banana and sticky rice. They are authentic. Don't order the banana and sticky rice unless you are adventurous and like new textures and tastes like Mark Wiens.
My son ate the shrimp in blankets. I might have to order Pad Kee Mow again because I am having a longing for the spice, tangy, and soft rice noodles again.

Favorite restaurant in Dekalb.
You won't find better thai food than here keep doing what you guys are doing!
Best duck curry I've ever had. Incredible.
Cost of food is much higher than the photos of the menu online. Average of a five dollar increase per item.
Overall experience was positive except the needed clarification of ordering separate from the lunch menu. Four individuals at the table understood that you can order a lunch portion of an entree off the regular menu for $2.00 more than typical lunch price. It is actually a regular portion at $2.00 over the regular price. A $14 meal became a $24 meal even after requiring explanation and clarification from the waitress prior to ordering.
There was no accountability even though four people heard it the same way prior to ordering.
Just amazing food!!
Excelent food service Mango chicken was the best i ever had
Have gone here many many times over the years, always consistently good food and quality ingredients. Lived here 10 years ago and returned to the area for work and was glad to see the quality remained so good and consistent. The restaurant definitely sources there ingredients well. Probably one of the best Thai places I've been to if not the best, would highly recommend
I've been going here for years and it was my favorite restaurant, even as it got more expensive. But now they've changed the ratios so there is less veggies and protein and way more rice or noodles. My mom, who ordered the Pad Thai rice, only had 1/4 of a tomato instead of a whole tomato, and this trend was true for the protein as well.
I drive from Joliet to come here cause their food is amazing!
A bit expensive considering the very low portion of meat and overfilling of cheap bell peppers in the curry. Not the best but not bad with taste but everything else is hell no. Typical restaurant for American people who have never eaten south asian/south east Asian cuisine to go "gaga over".
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Food was sweet and absolutely disgusting. When we asked for the spicy flavor, we received noodles with an absolutely disgusting sweet flavor. The last dining experience here included finding an artificial nail being found in our tofu soup once we returned home with take-out. Absolutely disgusting food, not sure what happened to the place within the last year but it got so much worse. We refuse to return to this place ever again
I have been going to Thai Pavillion for 10 years. I've moved around and tried many other Thai places and they don't come close to the quality and flavor that Thai Pavilion offers! They are consistently amazing and are a DeKalb staple. This is my favorite restaurant and I couldn't believe I haven't left a review! If you haven't been, try the green curry fried rice or any curry.
Service was amazing! Had the pad thai and it was fresh and full of flavor! The portions were great and the price was reasonable, I'm definitely going back to try other dishes!
Food is OK. Service wasn't horrible but wasn't great either. Not a friendly place.
You know you order a lot when you forget to add extra sauce to your order and they go ahead and add it for you. Lol great food every time thank you.
Excellent dishes! We had crab rangoon and the eggrolls to start. I had the sweet green curry with chicken as my main. My better half had their tofu. Both loaded with super fresh ingredients, incredible levels of flavor, both dishes served piping hot! Quick delivery of our meals, great service, and menu options. Cannot wait to return! Huge portions! Highly recommend.
Great food and good prices with a great team there.
Everything is so good!! Let them know how spicy you want. They let you know if there is any upcharge for protein you choose! Crab Rangoon, pot stickers, Pad Thai, Pad Sae Ew, Curry...it's all been fresh and phenomenal!
Based
Always loved this place! Best Thai food around :)
Just wish the place had more room and more restrooms. Food is always perfect. Sometimes a little pricey. Best Thai is dekalb.
I have been a repeat visitor for the last 5 years. Great food and a place to hang out. Good proportions of food and reasonably priced. One of the best Thai food restaurants I've ever tried.
The food is very good, but their prices have gotten out of hand, and the service is terrible.
The last time we ordered takeout from here, we got 2 noodle dishes for almost $40, and one of them wound up not even being the right dish. When I placed my order over the phone, the employee read my order back to me correctly, but when I went to pick it up, it was wrong, and even written down wrong on the slip. I told the lady behind the counter that the order was incorrect, and was told I could either pay for the incorrect order and take it, or wait 20 minutes for them to cook the right dish. I paid for the wrong dish because I didn't have time to wait, then just felt grumpy about it the rest of the day.
The time before that, we ordered out for dinner and showed up at the time they said our food would be ready. The lady behind the counter had me pay for the order and then told me it would be right out...45-50 minutes later, it was finally ready. I would have just walked out, but of course I had already paid for the food before they had apparently even started making it. I did get a "sorry about the wait," but too little, too late.
Soups are ok, noodles so bad, everybody just praises noodles, they are not that good, comon..
Your water will never be empty.
Been coming here for years. Everything I've ever eaten has been great. One of my favorite places to eat
We've loved this place for years! Our favorites are the lime tofu, tofu satay, fresh spring rolls, and beanthread pad thai.
Wonderful curried duck! Friendly and attentive service. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their food too.
All around great food. Duck is good and I especially like the peanut sauce.
Pretty good small-town Thai food. I wasn't too impressed on my first visit, but the panang noodles were really good when I went back. Vegan options available.
One of my favorite restaurants in DeKalb. The pad see ew with beef, panang curry, and Thai fried rice are some of my favorite dishes. Can't recommend this place highly enough
Amazing food, I highly recommend

Love the Thai fried rice.
I had crab Rangoon, spring rolls, and pad Thai, and all were fantastic. Definitely recommend.
Wonderful food with exceptional service in a lovely and peaceful environment. 10/10 recommend!
Great food!!👍 But maybe the dirtiest carpets I've ever seen👎
This is a gem. Protect this place at all costs! I love everything. I even love the little guava candies they give you with the bill. I love the front and back service, I love the spice rack. I love the decor. I love the basil roll and brussel sprouts and pad see ew. Fabulous and yummy. Go here! Go here many times! And then go again. Boom.
Finally, I had a chance to try to place. My go-to is Pad See Ew. Would definitely go again when in Dekalb
Have a good fried rice, a bit expensive for just a fried rice, ambience is good.
What an amazing place to get Thai food! The Pad Thai and Satay were absolutely amazing as I expected. If you haven't tried this place yet you really need to. Great service with even greater food.
I love this place! Is a must to get anytime I come back to NIU. Portions are large enough to split with another person. Food is always delicious and service is fast.
This place is great! By far some of the best thai food I've ever had. Been coming here for years always a treat! Highly recommend the spicy basil, pad see ew and thai ice tea.
The food is always greats here, never disappoints. Though it is a tad pricey, so we only come for special occasions!
This place is great first time there everything was delicious! Will definitely be back!!
I ate from this place 2 times a week while I was pregnant 12 years ago. Stopped by after all this time. Same owner still great tasty food food new employees AND and the staff still pleasant .
Great Thai food and the service was great!
Excellent and refreshingly unique approach to the wonderful Thai cuisine. Had the Tom Kha soup and Massaman Curry - both were fantastic. Quality ingredients and very pleasant blend of flavors. Different from all the other Thai variations I’ve experienced. I highly recommend a visit….
good service, good atmosphere, the food was okay for price
Always a solid good experience. Love many of their meals. The masaman curry with tofu is my favorite!
Love everything about this place, the food is phenomenal!
Food is delicious last visit. I tried the Kang pa a very spicy soup with a ton of vegetables and noodles with your choice of protein. If you love spicy, you have to try it, but make sure you have plenty of water nearby 😅. My wife had Pad Thai, and she said it was very good. They are very friendly, and the service is great. It does feel a little tight as far as the tables being pretty close together. Might not appeal to some, but it does not really bother me much. Great Thai food has decent prices. Definitely would recommend.
Felt rushed: Monday August 7 @ 12:30 table of 4.
Large portion
We were overcharged. Bill wasn’t itemized and when we asked for this to be done, they apologized for the mistake and adjusted the bill. However, I don’t think it was a mistake. Bill not being itemized is definitely a red flag. Taxes and 18% tip was included already. Very deceiving in my opinion. Check your bill!!!
Favorite Thai food! Get the Ginger Chicken!
Basil fried rice is dry no taste and only 3 pcs of beef.
Spend $96 something coz i ordered 3 each of Basil fried rice and 3 supposed to be dumpling coz 3 of us but 2 of my colleague didn't eat theirs and i eat just tasted the foods(sigh!) Dumplings become siomai and siomai not even taste like siomai.
Came here after my daughter's graduation event (14 people) and made the reservations last minute. They were able to accommodate us. Their parking in the back has very few spots, (close) street parking wasn't easy to find. Food was delicious, I really enjoyed their appetizer platter, chicken pad see ewe, shrimp lad nar, beef with garlic sauce. Their duck curry was also yum. For dessert we enjoyed their mango sticky rice. The Thai iced coffee was average. They did add gratuity automatically which was fine with me, just be aware. Inclusive of gratuity, it was about $40 per person.
Decent food a little overcooked on the chicken in the Pad Thai and the service was okay even though we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Been going here for many years now. I recommend the lime chicken or chicken delight. You won’t be disappointed.
Best thai place period! I've been to a lot, and I travel over an hour to come here once in awhile just to get some great food.
The food is great on good days. But it's highly inconsistent. Some days it's hyper salty. Some days the to-go containers are skimpily filled. Today our curry had very little in it -- all sauce and little tofu or veg
We ordered out here earlier this year, but decided to go eat in. The food here is so great. Homemade egg rolls are exceptionally good. But this is the best Pad Thai I have ever had!! I've eaten at possibly 30 or so Thai restaurants across the country, but this is my favorite. Next time I'm going to get something different, because if this is how the Pad Thai is, the rest has to be amazing.
Got the Thai Pavilion Noodles for dinner and, while very tasty, I woke up with food poisoning the next morning.
Great food but is now refusing order 40+ mins prior to close. Just adjust the hours.

The food was wonderful, service was decent, and the interior decoration beautiful. The portions are large enough to split. I shared a large tom kha soup with a friend and it was more than enough. Lots of vegetarian options; the tofu is well-cooked.
The first three times I came here, the food and service was great. I was excited that there was a good thai restaurant in town.
However, the next two times I’ve been here, the food has been subpar. Our ‘vegetarian friendly’ food has come out smelling and tasting like fish/meat.
They also charge a service fee (we had a table for two) that they don’t disclose on the receipt.
I am extremely dissapointed since I had high hopes for this place. If you do come here in the future, I would double check your bill and look elsewhere if you have dietary restrictions.
My favorite is the massaman curry and Brussels sprouts appetizer. So delicious and great options for vegetarians.
Delicious
The quality and taste of food has been downgraded. Bbq pork was not fully cooked. The final bill just had the total amount and did not include the price of individual items.
My go-to place for asian food in the Dekalb area. Really good fried rice and curry
Delicious! Regret not getting Mochi ice cream. Because I was too sedated from my Pad Thai! So, another visit is needed!
I've been to Thai restaurants in much larger cities, and I feel Thai Pavilion can go toe to toe with all of them. The prices are good, and I've never had a bad meal there.
Love this place, the panang noodles are the best I've ever had and always consistent.
My 4 star rating is due to ordering the brussel sprouts ($10.95) and there was barely anything in the container. Maybe it was too close to the end of the night? But for $11 I got about 4 Brussels that just fell apart and floating in sauce. Would never order them again.
Watch your receipt if you have five people, they might include gratuity if you dont pay attention.
The best Thai restaurant around. Been my favorite for a long time.
Wow food was amazing
A favorite place for food and conversation.
BAD MANAGEMENT. Your initial bill will have an added 18% service charge without you knowing it because they just give you a handwritten piece of paper with the total to pay, not itemized of what you ordered or consumed. And yet in the final bill there is a blank space for a 'tip'. So if you are not careful you are paying twice for tips. BAD MANAGEMENT. Good food, good service.
This place changed drastically. The first time my family went here the quality of food is reasonable with the price. But today, this is the last day we’re going back in this restaurant since they unawarely charged us with 18% service charge with the bill. Supposedly our bill is $106 w/o tips yet, then they didn’t let the customer know that they will already charge the tips, but they still had the tip section provided on the receipt. The total they gave us was $137, and if my dad didn’t calculate the bill we would add more tips to the restaurant equalling more than they should have gotten.
My wife and I found this place while traveling to Chicago. We did a Google search and found it. Absolutely 💯. The Pad Thai was the best my wife has ever had. The staff was very, very friendly and accommodating and attentive. They were at our table before we needed anything. I highly recommend finding this place when in the DeKalb area. More than well, worth the time and effort.
Host and server were very friendly, and the food was amazing! Large servings too!
I love this place. the food is always delicious and the staff is wonderful as well. I highly recommend it.
Amazing Thai food, huge menu. Very rare to have a good place like this in DeKalb. Love the Pad See Ew. Unfortunately the Khao Soi we asked for medium spice and I think they squirted Sriracha on top of the crunchy noodles. Not a great authentic spice for this dish, we could have done that at the table.
Friendly and efficient service and divine food!
Wonderful staff and a unique menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and so glad there are options for those of us milder types.
It's all good. I will be going again.
Food (as always) was very good!
I love going to this place it is soooo good!! The service is so good they always do a good job never messy. They’re always so polite and everything seems on point with they’re service. I’ve been coming here for years and ordering delivery and it will continue to be one of my favorite restaurants. I also love that they but vegetables and lime on they’re plates. Keep up the good job Sam!
Ordered the duck curry and the was nice and hot. Curry sweet and well seasoned. Staff very polite and amicable.
Great place to eat this winter season.
Excellent food and generallg friendly staff but the owner clearly keeps a work environment that's poor. I've seen employees get scolded in front of customers (myself included) and you'll rarely see the same waitress twice. The turnover here must be incredibly. I'd recommend ordering out if you need their food as the environment is not comfortable to dine in unless you like being around untrained and fearful employees. The owner should stop just watching his employees and help if he wants to keep staff happy.
The lunch special is a great deal. $10 gets you soup, an egg roll, and an entree. I like the pad see ew or fried rice.
Loved the dumplings. Fried tofu was good. Beanthread pad Thai was delicious and and a nice change, tofu added. Broccoli with peanuts sauces good too.
I’ve been coming here for so long and it never disappoints. Absolutely amazing and fresh. I get the pad thai:)
Amazing fresh food!
Best food in dekalb County
Enjoy the food here, which is very nice.
Amazing food, and staff was friendly.
BUT...
They sat us by ourselves, and then when NEW people came in, they sat them right next to us when there was a ton of space on the other end and the other side of the restaurant.
It was very uncomfortable and awkward tbh.
If your sign says open and it's more than 20 minutes before you close, you should seat. Or else make it known that you only do pickup after a certain time. I was traveling through. Needless to say I won't try again.
