Fresh Authentic Ingredients
Our ingredients place emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components and a spicy edge. Our dishes are known for their complex interplay of fundamental taste senses in each dish including sour, sweet, salty, bitter, and spicy.
Attention to Savory Detail
Thai food as demonstrates intricacy; attention to detail; texture; color; taste; and the use of ingredients with medicinal benefits, as well as good flavor”. Care is given to the food’s appearance, smell and context.
It is NOT a dine in restaurant. We came in for a sit down lunch but it turned out to be a take out restaurant. The owner (I assumed) was super friendly who allowed us to sit and eat with our to go order.
The food- it was not too too bad but for the price, it should be better. We had appetizer sampler and it was like from the frozen market. Tamarind was lacking in the pad thai and pad see ewe.
I stopped here for a quick lunch. They were able to make my pad see ewe vegan by preparing it without oysters and eggs.
They have a handful of 2 and 4 top tables but they do not have servers, rather you order at the counter and you are welcome to eat there but it’s mostly a takeout place. They do not serve alcohol but they gave me a glass of water
My wife and I stopped in after we dropped our kids off at the library for an event. We liked it so much that we stopped in again after dropping them off for another event. She loved the Pad Thai and I loved the garlic chicken with egg noodles. Would recommend 👌
The food was not up to the standard of Thai food I know. Pad Thai is missing the key pad Thai ingredient which was the tamarind. Thus the pale pad thai.
The Pad see eww got the smoky taste but the flavor was ok. It was more of a wet pad see eww.
This was probably my least enjoyable visit to a Thai restaurant.
What a cute place! Clean bathrooms and good service. We started off with the crab rangoons, and they were excellent!! I ordered pad kee mao with extra vegetables and my husband got vegetable fried rice. They were both a hit and the restaurant was not greedy with the vegetables! Great place to go to if you don’t eat meat, anything can be subbed for veggie options.
So far, I’ve been very impressed with the food and service here! My favorite dish to get here is the Pad See Ew. The texture of the noodles is perfect and the sauce is a good mixture of sweet and savory.
Note: this place isn’t meant to be a sit-down restaurant. If you want quick takeout, this is a great option!
Fantastic Thai food!! I give the Elephant Thai cuisine on Devon Avenue in Edgebrook, five stars!! This is a staple of the local and quaint Edgebrook area on the far Northwest side of Chicago. We have been coming to this restaurant for over 8 years. This small, and privately owned Thai restaurant has great food. I appreciate that during the week they have $10 lunch specials for carryout and the food is a healthy option for carry out food. I give the Elephant Thai restaurant five stars.
I’m completely shocked by the 1-star reviews I just read. I had a great experience here and the woman that took my order was so kind. This restaurant was recommended to me by my fellow foodie friend and the food was just as delicious as he said.
Good food, clean, 15 minutes cooking time

Very over priced for take-out and the amount of meat and taste.
Good food and very fast service.

Amazing food. Love take out from Elephant Thai.

Worst dining experience ever at Elephant Thai Cuisine. The food was dreadful—found a hair in my meal, which is completely unacceptable. Everything was overpriced for the subpar quality. I left feeling utterly frustrated and ripped off. Avoid this place at all costs!
Absolutely terrible experience at Elephant Thai Cuisine. The food was downright awful – found a hair in my dish, which is just unacceptable. The flavors were bland and unappealing, and to top it off, the prices were ridiculously high for such poor quality. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. Save your money and go somewhere else.
The food is always good and I love supporting local businesses

Surprisingly good!! Had the lunch special. Decor is pleasant but not thoughtful. But I didn't come for the atmosphere 😃
Is there a new owner? I order Enerald noodles they always have crab, shrimp, chicken, this time there was a lot of chicken and 2 pieces of shrimp, the noodles were overcooked. The crab Rangoon was flat. It look like a different person cooked.
Great food. Take out mostly
It's a take out. Food was okay. They messed up my lunch special order. I order Pad Thai with an egg roll and an additional seperate cucumber salad they gave me cucumber salad as a side no egg roll and rice? Then I called and they told me to order the egg rolls separately and pay. And so,based on that and the just okay food, not sure I'll be going back.
A favorite local Thai restaurant! Very considerate about what items can and cannot be made vegan if fish sauce is already incorporated in sauce. Highly recommend, regularly get take out but restaurant is cute to eat at as well.
Food was delicious! Loved the wonton soup! Orders are usually to go but you can tell them that you are dining in and they'll be able to accommodate.
Their food is so delicious!! My favorite dish is Pad Thai noodles 🔥🔥
Wonderful food and Nom is always smiling and Courteous when I pick up my food
Delicious food and friendly service
Cute place with great food and friendly staff.
Great food!
Good neighborhood spot for Asian food. We been a customer for years. Very friendly, good quick service, always get take out.
All the food was GREAT! and didn't have to wait but 10 minutes to start receiving my orders. There used to be waiters in the past but now you walk up to the counter and order. The food arrives in to-go boxes but there's tables to eat inside
My favorite restaurant in the entire world! I have been coming here since I was a child with my family. The food is always consistent, amazing and I love the staff here. Every time I come home to Chicago, I visit Thai Elephant. <3
I don't know how the food taste. Google says dine in is available, but when we get there she says takeout only is available. Probably wouldn't have been a big deal if I hadn't paid for parking already.

I Love their food so much they are so nice nothing compares!!!!!!
They are very nice and clean building. Must try the Emerald Noodle special for seafood lovers
picked up take out for being poolside
all the tables and chairs were pushed aside like there’s nowhere to sit and eat
added utensils to the online order because I have nothing with me
nothing was included, not even a napkin
red curry is good but bland, needs salt- idk if that would help because i have no salt
everything was cooked perfectly but there was no taste.
i ordered md-spicy - it didn’t have much heat
i could’ve gone spicy
the tofu is partially fried, making it spongy-rubbery with some hard edges
got a thai iced tea, egg rolls and a tom yum w shrimp- $40!!
the amount of rice given is exact half of what you’d need to to match the amount of curry
hugely disappointed
also I ordered during slow hours, 2:30pm after lunch and before dinner so it was not busy
My favorite Thai restaurant. Favorite meal is the beef salad.
Great food and friendly service.
I really love the chicken pad thai here. Simple and perfect.
My favorite Thai place to go to. I come here once a week. And their food is always consistent and so is the quantity. I always get the tofu pad Thai.
Best Thai food around
Been going here for almost 20 years and it does not disappoint. Very good Thai food. The satay and peanut sauce it excellent. I love the panang curry. My only criticism would be to make it spicier. Anything I have ordered has always been very good. Right now they're only doing takeouts. But hopefully they'll eventually go back to dine in. Since my kids were very little we've been going there they enjoyed very much and we continue to go. If you're looking for good Thai food definitely check out the elephant.
Sign on door says
Carry Out Only
Pretty good food overall. I tried the lunch special box A which came with pad thai, basil chicken, rice, 2 pot stickers, and 1 egg roll. The pad thai had a gentle sweetness that I liked. The basil chicken was somewhat salty. but had a pleasant, mild spice. I liked the egg roll as well. The pot stickers were too greasy, and the soy sauce was excessively salty.
If the salt was controlled and pot stickers/egg roll weren't so greasy, I'd give a 5 star rating.
Tried for the first time yesterday and the food was amazing! Very reasonable prices and portion sizes. I will definitely be ordering again soon!
Great Thai food, reasonable prices! Due to Covid issues, Elephant Thai switched to carry-out only. This is a great little restaurant and well worth patronizing.
Waited 27min for your FB page to load and another 13min for the menu to come up. It shouldn't be this difficult to do business with you. I had a $110 order I wanted to place w/you but I don't have the time for this nonsense. I shouldn't "need" a FB acct to do business with you either. Rethink your business & customer strategy for the new year or you'll perish.
Pad see ewe chicken is the best here!
Pad see ewe is so good here!!!!!
Great service! Excellent food
We love Elephant Thai Cuisine! We have never had a bad experience here, the food is consistently hot and delicious, and the workers are very friendly. The best Thai food we’ve had in this area, I highly recommend it.
When I moved to the neighborhood I went on a search for a good Thai restaurant. Needless to say, this was a very welcome find. The food is some of the best Thai food I have ever had in my life. I highly recommend the basil chicken. Prices are as good as the food.
Very tasty Masaman Curry! Service is nice & decently fast and the environment is clean.
My first visit today for a carry out order. I had the shumai and the garlic chicken noodle. Both were delicious!
Great flavors, good sized servings, wonderful variety. The best peanut sauce I've had.
Best Italian restaurant hands down.
Very consistent, good food. Quick, and no must no fuss.
Delicious/authentic Thai cuisine. I definitely recommend.
The food was ok, a bit lackluster. Some of the fried rice dishes had clumps of white rice that were not mixed or seasoned properly.
The man who answered the phone was in a rush after taking my order and hung up on me before I could confirm my total, a bit rude but I thought it was because they were busy. I arrive to pick up my order and the same man tells me he is closing early because they do not have enough business to stay open the whole day.
Absolutely best Thai food I have found since moving to Chicago in 2006. I only eat at other Thai places when Elephant Thai is closed.
This thai place! just wonderful, always has fresh and authentic food. You can request their things spicy! Great restaurant, I must try!
Average. Wouldn’t return. Tried their “lunch special” and it wasn’t much of a special. Came with a soggy egg roll, a little bit of rice, and not really flavorful or spicy basil chicken. Really unimpressed.
Tried this place on a whim on the way home from vacation and it was fantastic, definitely one of the best thai places ive been to in the city.
Quick and the Tom Yum soup is amazing
Great food!
Great curry's, quick pick up order, fair price
Best Thai food on the north side of Chicago, hope they are all fine after this is craziness is over....
They are very slow
Great food. Very well organized takeout respecting Covid-19 safety.
Besides the wait, the food was great!
Great pad thai, soups, and the appetizer sampler is a must. Keeps busy with regulars and those just finding out about this little spot.
Closing time is 8:00 not 9:099
Delicious!!!
Our office always orders from there. Great food they just never give us enough hot sauce which is amazing. :)
Great experience amaizing food friendly people :)
Great service. Delicious fresh food. Love the pot stickers, crab ragoons, garlic chicken and lad nar.
Great food and service
Great food & service.
I had not noticed before until friend suggested it. Good menu; good prices; tasty
Nice decor. Friendly service. But food is a bit too sweet for my asian tastebuds.
Great food, must try the crispy tofu!
Staff was very friendly here and we got seated immediately. We really liked the curries here. The thai iced tea was strong and I liked it though it was a bit too much for one in my party. The crab ragoon was not the best although it looked nice. The pad thai was good. The Phuket smoothie is highly recommended.
The best Thai food in Chicago! My favorite dishes include the Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup!
So glad for them to open back up
Just the yummiest thai flavors anywhere. Fresh, vibrant, byob, and the friendliest owners, highly recommended.
It's a good place
The food was fantastic...fresh, tasty and affordable. It is worth the trip.
Best Thai in the area! You can’t go wrong with anything they serve!
best thai food place you will literally ever go to. mark my words
Varied menus from different restaurants under one roof. Food is mostly great and the ambience is really nice
I just ate here for the first time. This place is the bomb and I can’t wait to go back.
Great food, very clean, and the staff is super friendly!
Loved it!
I hate Thai food.
The best crab ragoon!
Food is fresh and authentic! My favorites are chicken noodle soup, fried rice, chicken satay, chicken or beef pad thai. It's a small restaurant, so I usually do carryout or go when it's not too busy.
Amazing curries! Duck curry was the best!
Good service and food
Part of the Chicago loop vintage restaurant Fresh cook items friendly environment, the old school considerable booths ,side walk traffic views !
You must experience!!
Simple, family owned. Had the pad Thai with chicken, freshly made and nicely presented. Tasty. Also had a strawberry boba tea which was perfect blend with tapioca and frozen watermelon ball.
Great food. Great food!
U came about 3p when closing til 4p. Plan to go back.
Delicious food and always kind waitstaff
Cozy. Clean. Great food.
Been here numerous times and get the chicken pad Thai. Full of flavor and quick service as well.
Their prices went up considerably...!
Mediocre ! Not bad but not great. We had the chicken satay ( the best thing we liked) beef musaman (beef a bit chewy and curry not that flavorful) Pad Thai was ok and the chicken dish was ok. Service was good. A very small place and was crowded. No wait. Actually it was better warmed up at home after a day with some added spicies and tofu at home. It was a clean restaurant
Great food!
Cozy setting good eats.
Very friendly and our lunch was delicious.
Great Thai food, best pad Thai in north Chicago! Also a great place to bring children.
My family's new Thai place
Best Thai in Chicago’s north side! Try their rangoons, chive dumplings, and fried egg rolls as appetizers. Pad Thai is outstanding, as are their curries. I love the Panang curry with chicken. Oh and get the beef with chinese broccoli. Not Thai but an authentic chinese dish (great for those on a low-carb diet). Pad Ke Mao (?) is also good for you noodle-lovers! Service is friendly and helpful. We get take out most of the time and their delivery is fast. Enjoy a taste of Thailand in your neighborhood!

My favorite in the city. Great food with really nice staff and have no problem making any dish spicy if you like it that way . Neighborhood Staple

Worth the trit
Always consistent cashew chicken or pork is fantastic.
Everyone at our table enjoyed the food! I got the Red Curry and really liked it. It was pretty crowded since it was a weekend night and we ended up having to wait for quite a while, so I'd recommend getting reservations if possible.
