Very happy to have come here. This place is excellent.
We’ll cover a few basic points that I think make a place excellent.
1. Food - Fresh, full of taste, and plentiful. It took a little bit of time to come out, but this isn’t McDonald’s. This is good food being prepared fresh to order. Lots to choose from.
2. Service - Amazing. There is ONE server and he handles it all. He does a great job and still somehow smiles and is super polite
3. Atmosphere - pleasantly old school. A throwback to a time before fancy bistros were popular. This is a place where Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer would come
4. Cleanliness - A+
5. Prices - Super fair! Almost shockingly low.
6. Bathroom - It was very clean. If you follow my reviews, you know that clean bathrooms are important
Parking was decent. It’s the city and I found a parking within 5 minutes.
Overall… Delicious, fresh, and I will for sure be back
The food here is super flavorful and comes in generous portions. Many of the dishes are quite sweet, and all are well seasoned. What I've tried from the lunch specials have been tasty, and while the soup of the day has always been the same for me, I've also always enjoyed it. The restaurant has a family-owned/relaxed vibe to it despite the plentiful Thai decor. The waiter was kind and offered recommendations when asked.
My favorite Thai place in the neighborhood. The food is all good, their lunch specials are a _really_ good value, and the dining room has a nice panoramic view of the streets outside. Very cozy.
Basil over rice is my favorite right now, but everything I've tried has been good.
Love this little spot in my neighborhood
The food was great, the dining room is so cozy
I do wish they had an online menu/ordering, I’d be way more inclined to order takeout when that’s what I’m feeling like
Decent Thai food with good flavors
I had the $6.95 lunch special which has a soup, appetizer, and main dish.
Soup was great
Shrimp wraps were ok but a bit small
The Pad Ka Prik was decent but there were like $4 shrimp ( you pay $1 extra for shrimp)
Just happen to be passing through the neighborhood- would come back if nearby but wouldn't cross town to eat again
Really cozy atmosphere, very clean. Super polite and helpful waitstaff. The food was 3.5/5 but the price is absolutely unbeatable. Wasn't impressed with the crispy tofu appetizer, but the green curry was good. My friend had the veggie pad Thai and it was just fine. I'd for sure come back for a cheap and warm meal.
Best Thai food in the city, old school not on grub hub

Very rude employee and not professional
Never come to this place
Love this place!! My family has been coming for years. My mom brought us and now I bring my kids!! Same waiter all these years too. Super nice. You can’t beat the lunch special!!
Order the coffee, it's amazing.
Thai Valley has the best Thai food! Very flavorful and authentic. Highly recommended. The place is a little outdated but I don’t really care. Tum Yum Koong is an art piece.
The food here is so good—full of flavor, very nice thick sauces, some dishes you don’t see at every Thai restaurant (somtum, some interesting fish) and the servings are so generous when eating in. It’s also a beautiful, quiet space with lots of greenery, wood, kind of an elegant 90s feel. Truly one of my favorite places in Chicago.
This places Is one of my favorites in Chicago. The food is amazing the service is very good.
I’ve been coming here for close to 12 years now maybe more and my kids love it too!

The place was not clean and presentable, the table we sat at was tilted. The server was slow and our appetizers came out before the sodas that we ordered and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was awful, the server didn't check back with us somehow in this.closet sized place the gentleman kept disappearing. The food itself was nothing spectacular

Average Thai and pricey for what you get.
Muy bueno
So I have passed this place hundreds of times probably in the time I've lived here, and I finally went to a dinner date with my gf here and it was so great.
I felt like we had stepped back into the Thai restaurants of my youth, with the neon sign and the cool, decorated bar. Our server was awesome and the food was good. Their spring rolls are perfectly crispy and cooked.
The Thai iced tea was delicious as well and I can definitely see continuing to support them as time goes on.
Good food. Took a while but the quality and price is worth the wait.
Después de muchos años regrese a chicago y sigue igual el restaurante connel mismo sason lo recomiendo
We have been going to this place for more than 18 years we loveeee this food we have tried several thai places but we can’t get to like another place more than this one would definitely recommend! 🥰
Weirdly quiet.... All I can hear is the TV in the back. How about some music?
The food was good. I suggest getting the crunchy noodles with any noodle dish
Great local North Park Thai place, very affordable. Been in the neighborhood for 3p years.
Great place. Good for the neighborhood!
Great service.
Food was a little salty but it was with exotic taste as well.
Always good food and attentive service. Great place to eat!
The best Thao food around
I’ve been going here since I was very young, my parents loved Thai Valley and I had such good memories of the amazing food. I’m a bit more grown now, and recently stopped by to pick up my typical order of satay, tempura, and pad see ew(all of which are SO GOOD) and it felt like coming home. The classic cardboard cutout is still there and nothing has changed, especially the great quality of the food!!!
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Chicago! The lunch special is amazing, appetizer, soup and entree all for $9.99. And anyone who comes here really needs to try their Spicy Rice Namsod, just incredible, delicious, so good!!!
They have cut their open days back to Thur, Fri, Sat & Sunday.
OH, you also have to have their fresh spring rolls, and try some peanut sauce on them. Ive never had anything bad here, plus the family that runs it is super nice.
Got the lunch special. It was ok.
Amazing food!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago! It is incredibly affordable, the portions are huge, and food is delicious. Be sure to order Spicy Rice Nam Sod salad and Basil Chicken. Spiciness tends to be somewhat uneven - if you order medium spicy, some dishes might come quite hot. They are pretty low tech, so you cannot order online. Just show up or call. They do offer delivery in the evening (after 5). The server is very nice and accommodating.
Great Thai spot with friendly service and authentic flavors. If you like spicy, definitely give it a try. Very affordable and the restaurant had been around for decades.
The staff is incredibly nice and the food is WONDERFUL! Service was timely. Very happy with my experience!
Food is always great! Prices are decent and portions are big! We are never disappointed when we order from here.
Great lunch deals!
This is the only Thai restaurant that I will ever go to. Nothing can compare to this amazing food here. I’ve been coming here since I was young everyday after church mass we would come and we would order the fried rice, chicken on the stick with the peanut sauce. And the noodle soup (I’m not sure the name). We still come here. The server knew who we were already. Best of the best would 100% recommend eating here 😊
I love the food this restaurant has to offer, I would like to see more people dinning here.
Very tasty and fresh 😋.
I recommend you to try it.
Best Thai rice in the city
Great price and solid Thai choice. They are very nice and prompt with service. It’s my go to spot in Albany Park.
Best Thai Good Ever!!! Quality! Love this place! Authentic in every way! Great service!
Food is decent.
Fresh ingredients, generous portions, perfect flavors. Some of the best Thai I've had in Chicago.
Hi guys!
I just wanted to say I LOVE this Thai food spot. It’s SO good and potions are large. My whole family loves it and we tend to have our favorite dishes. We’ve been eating here for about 10yrs now.
I did want to a point out that when you pay your bill, usually, Fidel is the guy that will take your order and cash you out and if you’ve come here often you’d know he is running around all day if it’s busy because it’s ONLY him (prior to Covid).
He doesn’t get any of the tip money if given to him via a debit/credit card payment. He only keeps cash tips and not allowed to take the rest of given to him via final debit/credit card payment.
I feel bad because he works REALLY hard and I think he should be able to take his tips home regardless of his payment arrangement with the owners, but it’s not the case.
So, next time you go, try getting cash tip for him. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it so much! Also, be patient it is only him running around majority of the times.
This restaurant is cute inside and the chicken pad thai was very good! We also had the satay appetizer. The chicken was perfectly cooked and a slightly sweet marinade. Looking forward to eating from here again! Easily two meals per noodle dish. 🤤
My favorite thai restaurant, I haven't found anywhere else that compares. I love this place. Great food and the staff has always been nice.
This place was good but fairly ordinary the previous time we tried it around a year ago but we picked up a takeout order (pad prik and green curry) a couple of days ago and the food was quite superb, as good as any of the maybe 12 - 15 Thai places that I have tried so far in Chicago over the years. I'm hoping that the recent leap in quality turns out to be permanent. If so we will be regular customers since we live only 3 blocks away.
Horrible oily and taste like soap sometimes. Wrong flavors.
Panang Curry and Tom Yum soup is on point!
Thai Valley appeared in front of us as I was craving Thai food. They were closing around 10 but they stayed open to take care of us, so a bonus point to that. The Tun Tang was too greasy but tasted good. The Tom Yum Kai soup was our favorite...I'm eating leftovers right now.
Love this spot! Very tasty and cheap Thai food on the go! Best lunch specials in the city!
🙂 yummy!
I love this place!!! Amazing prices
Love this place best thai food in chicago hands down.. 👍🏽👍🏽 2 thumbs up..
Me encanta
This is my go to Thai restaurant. They have most of the thai cuisine foods you can think of.
Best Thai food around
Good
Amazing food ! Great prices 💕
My family and I have been going here for 25 years. It's my favorite Thai Restaurant no comparison. My family loves this place. Love the food and the prices are so reasonable. I highly recommend it!!!
Best Thai food in town!
Love there Duck Soup. Best in Chicago. Warm atmosphere.
My favorite thai place
Loved it
Best Thai food for me, it's a family favorite with alot of history. I grew up going to this place. Only thing I can say bad about it is sometimes the wait for food can be long.
Great place! I have been coming here since I was a kid. Now I bring my kids and they love it as well.
Place used to be always packed and food was good. Since the new owner the quality has gone down and the place is empty. Disappointed from what I ordered.
Excellent Thai restaurant good food.
Great spicy Thai food. Had the Basil Rice.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Chicago keep up the Great work!
Muy normal la comida
Super affordable and delicious. I'd recommend stopping by or ordering it to go if you're in the area.
Really good and great staff
Great food and service at lunch special.. alot for your money...very adorable lunch price
Food was great, but there was a wet rag smell. The decor was also kinda dated.
Favorite thai place. Go here every year on my birthday with a large group of friends and get great service everytime. The waiter has worked there for years, already kind and polit .
Please get the waiter dinner help
Another local to the neighborhood. I've been eating their lunch specials since high-school. Their Thai iced coffee is a treasure. Tasty fried duck with rice. Very cozy and not too loud inside. I recommend their lunch menu if it's your first time to try new dishes and save money.
Been eating here for over 10 years (not one sitting, silly!). Really good food, priced reasonably. Beef Salad (Nue Numtok) is exceptional! They ask how spicy I want it -- I ask for them to blister my tongue -- they haven't succeeded yet. Wife likes the chicken / mushroom soup (Tom yum kai), when feeling under the weather.
I love it
Excellent thai food!
Large portions, many menu options, tasty, great service.
Pretty good
Been going to Thai Valley for 27 years. Always a fam favorite.
Good food at an affordable price. lunch special has a lot of options for side dishes so it's a must go place. Definitely enjoyed my countless visit.
Delicious
I love this place so much! It’s a 45 minute drive for me but it’s so worth it. Best Thai restaurant I’ve ever had. None of the Thai restaurants by my area can top this restaurant’s recipes.
Also, I always give a very good tip to the Hispanic waiter there. He deserves it every time.
Came here for dinner and greatly enjoyed the food. I always order panang curry as well as chicken satay and crab rangoon whenever I go to a thai restaurant. The panang was spiced exactly how I asked for it to be. The satay was excellent, but I would have liked to see a larger portion of chicken. Lastly the crab wonton** was delicious!!! Service was fast and attentive. Also very friendly.
Food is great and delicious, I recommend the satay and green curry
Best lunch special
Thai food or Chinese restaurant? ! I got shrimp friend rice and it had like 3 shrimp in it. On top of that, it tasted like Chinese food. We didn’t like it at all and didn’t finish the food! I won’t be returning!
Been coming here since I was a kid, one of the best thai restaurants in chicago. 🔥🔥🔥
Great food, great lunch special and even better service! Felipe is the man!!!
I love getting the Lunch Special and getting the Pad Prik!!! Super delicious!!!!!! 🍲🍚
Best Thai Food Ever
The Tom Yum Soup is the best I’ve ever had. I recommend all the items that come in the lunch special in full size orders. Which is the fried rice (meat of choice) Soup & chicken sticks.
The server is always pleasant and the owner is very friendly with the kids.
Best Thai food in the city!
Good food
Great food
Slimy, salty pad Thai
Always smells like sewer gas in this place, tasty dishes however their sodium levels are off the scale. We have always asked for less salt and no msg but still!!!
Great food
Ive been eating here for over 10 years it a great place for a reasonable price. I love this place it has so many memories.
Very courteous and fast service!!
Decent Thai food with good flavors
I had the $6.95 lunch special which has a soup, appetizer, and main dish.

This place is fast and DELICIOUS. The man that runs the place - I don't think he takes a day off. He sure is on top of things. The soups are great and filling. Everything is yummy.
Go for the lunch specials.
Food is always great....
Great food for great prices. Thai valley has been around for awhile, the server is always helpful. I recommend you try the friedrice(your choice of meat) , tom ka kai (coconut milk & chicken) soup and the chicken satay with peanut sauce. Tastes great. Visit and Enjoy!
Unbelieveable combination fried rice!
This place is a hidden jewel, we loved coming here on Sundays. Their lunch specials are a must get!
Best thai food in the city
Great food
Can't beat the lunch special! This place is great, food is great.
We miss this place SO MUCH. Absolutely yummy.
Delicious green curry only +$1 extra for shrimp
The duck soup was DELICIOUS!
The food is 👍
Good
Great service and Amazing food!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A+++++
On the lowest spectrum of the Asian food market, rice was over cooked and mushy, duck was disgusting. Been coming here a very long time, the Wok Cuisine across the street is 10 times better, way higher quality more proper cooked food, while also having way better prices.
Exelente comida la mejor del barrio
Fried rice combo, terrible
Hardly no meat 2 shrimps in one order,Really?
Great value, some thai curry dishes are better than others.
BAD TASTE - We were so hungry yet as soon as we tasted the food we were ready to go. Fried rice was over cooked and tasted nothing ANYTHING it.
Being a customer for many years, since our kids were small, it used to be a good place to eat, but last few times I was there I found hair on my food, the food is not the same, the owner didn't care when I show the hair, I didn't pay for the food, I do not recommend this place to anyone, just don't go eat there, the food is not good and the service is bad, not like it used to be.
